FFT Express - LAST-MINUTE Week 3 Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Advice! Actives/Inactives & Q&A (09/27 Fantasy Football Advice)
11m 3s
Key fantasy football decisions for Week 3 hinge on weather risks, player inactives, and matchup dynamics. Rain and wind are expected to dampen passing games across major matchups, especially in the Giants-Titans and Seahawks-Washington games, reducing quarterback efficiency and target accuracy. Brock Bowers is expected to play and remains a top flex option, though Terrence Ferguson may serve as a backup if Bowers is inactive. Tyson Beckford may see increased usage, but Lutherburden remains a low-impact flex. Mike Evans is projected to play and is ranked as a reliable WR3 with a solid target share. Zay Flowers' status is uncertain due to pitch counts, warranting caution in starting him, while Rashad Bateman is viewed as a low-impact option only if Flowers is inactive. Jalen Warren offers strong RB2 potential with pass-catching upside, and Tony Pollard could rise in value if Ty Johnson is ruled out. Sam Darnell, a likely starter against the Titans, is a high-impact DFS target with potential for multiple touchdowns. Multiple inactives—Rico Dowdell, Adonis Mitchell, and possibly others—necessitate flexible roster strategies. Teams should prioritize safe, high-floor options and prepare for weather-related adjustments. Final decisions will be clarified closer to kickoff, with live updates available at 11 a.m. Eastern on YouTube.
Good morning, everyone. We hope you're ready to win here in fantasy week three. Let's talk about the news and notes before kick off And this is FFT Express out of measure with Keith Cummings And remember to join us if we don't answer your questions here You got some questions join us at youtube.com/fantasyfootballtoday at 11 a.m. Eastern We are live for two hours answering start or sip questions We'll have the inactives at that point at 11 30 and we'll have more updates on the weather Heathen. Let's start with that. I am sitting here in a rainy New York But it's only going to get rainier and a little windier and we've got some concerns in the Giants Titans game In the commanders Seahawks game What are you thinking here with the weather early in the morning? Unfortunately, I don't think we can start any of the quarterbacks in this game Either of them we didn't want to anyway Well, what um tuned into the Washington, uh, Seattle games No, I don't want to start well, but again, I think that was kind of a joke because we're talking about camward and james winston and marcus moriota and sam donald Um, like not guys that we wanted to start in the first place Yeah, I think I'm it would be a slight downgrade to the passing game for all four of these teams And really like obviously it doesn't matter for jsn um the guys like neighbors digs McClure and are all wide receiver threes for me this week um Might be a little bit more likely to try to get away from those guys more likely Yeah What about like no, I don't think he matters as much because his targets are so close to the quarterback That uh, not sure the winds going to affect those throws as much maybe we get more dump-offs to cam scataboo Yeah, listen, we'll talk more about it uh as we get closer to kickoff, we have a better idea We we don't like rain, but we really don't like wind so we'll keep an eye on it Meanwhile Caleb Williams is out, but Tyson Beijing may play Does that change anything for you and you look at the bearers guys? He had another quarterback that I don't want to start um Beijing will run just a little bit more I i'm i'm hopeful The Tyson Beijing throws the ball to Lutherburden like he did at the end of week two Butburden is a flex at best and i'm sitting coastal loved one Uh, let's talk about Brock Bowers questionable seems like he's been trending toward playing But maybe limited snaps where do you have Bowers ranked this week? So I think you're probably starting Bowers if you have him I do have Dalton Schultz and Isaiah likely and Dalton can cater ahead of him So he's tied in to eight for me this week I think if you have one of those guys and you just want to play it safe But it's hard to leave Brock Bowers on your bench And if for some reason he's inactive you could pick up maybe Terrence Ferguson at Denver because pukinakua is out Would you start? I mean based on what we saw from Ferguson last week Would you start Ferguson over Bowers is pukinakua and by the way is not out, but he's almost certainly going to be out Um, yeah, I've got I've got Ferguson two spots behind Bowers. So I mean obviously it's probably gonna be a low-scoring game Against the Broncos very good defense. Maybe Devonte Adams gets shut down and Ferguson gets even more targets But he's a start and a top 10 tied in but behind Bowers behind Mark Anders. Okay. He is 39% rostered Um If Bowers well Bowers is out. I guess you could just pivot to Michael Mayer But you'd have to have someone to drop in that four o'clock window Okay, we're expecting Bowers to play at this point. We'll hopefully we'll have more clarity at the 11 a.m. Show Nico Collins is out and also Houston is going to be without their starting right guard and maybe they're starting right tackle Uh, I've seen a lot of Hutchinson being picked up so I get all the FFT open waiver claims and I picked him up in our 14 team league Uh, how do you feel about Hutchinson this week? Uh, he's once bought behind Marvin Harris and junior Uh, so he's my wide like here's the thing. He's my wide receiver of 55 I think so he's not in my top 48 He's going to get the targets It's just whether he can do anything with them and I think if you need a desperation flex and you're looking on the waiver wire he's probably your best option But I don't actually have high expectations Okay, and some news coming in now Mike Evans is planning to play against the Cardinals according to Jeremy Fowler Jalen coaker should play today whereas Zebra Liget is a game time decision according to in rap report Um, you feel comfortable starting Evans Well, I've been the low guy on Evans for eight months and so he's kind of right where I've always had him I think I've got him a wide receiver 29 um, he is a boom bus number three wide receiver He can give you a top 15 week and he could play 15 snaps Okay, uh, say one Barthly is going to play Davante Smith is going to play we we don't know about Zay flowers Zay flowers looks like a game time decision and we'll be on a pitch count and that's in the four o'clock window here So what do you do because we're going to we are going to get so many Rashad Bateman questions and also Ronnie Stanley their left tackle is going to be out What do you do here with the Ravens? So I think as far as Zay goes like if I I have another guy in the 430 window and He's not in the top 30 And flowers is active. I'm probably going to play flowers if I have a top 30 wide receiver that I can play over flowers Even if he's active they've been talking about it being on a pitch count in the field There is not looking fantastic So uh, so I probably would try to get away from him like I think probably you need to do the same type of thing with Rashad Bateman Like he's wide receiver 25 I think in my rankings Um, and that is expecting flowers not to play So there is a little bit more risk there and if if flowers was active then Bateman would probably be closer to wide receiver 35 Okay, so at least if Bateman were active if if flowers were active Bateman would still be someone using worth using as a flex Um, we'll see if Keon Coleman and DJ Moore play we're also going to take a break because I forgot to do that Let's take a break here on fantasy football today express come back with a few more news items and your questions after this The Strato Tech T from Viori is one of those shirts you put on once and immediately get why people love it It's incredibly soft stretches with you dries fast and still looks sharp enough to wear from a workout to the ballpark without missing a beat It's become my go-to T for pretty much everything head to viori.com/pod20 for 20% off your first purchase Exclusions apply visit the website for full-terms and conditions All right, here we go. Rico Dowdell has been ruled out, right? Is that just expected to be? Rico Dowdell has been ruled out Okay, and Jalen Warren is expected to play. How good of a start is Jalen Warren? Um, well, I've got him just a little bit ahead of the start of the week But I think he's right in that same range with Chuba Hubbard a very high-end RB2 Lot of pass-ketching potential veteran PPR than he is in none Okay, and Ty J spears is questionable if he were out. How much would you like Tony Pollard today? Um, so I've got Pollard. I think at RB 26 right now He'd probably sneak into the top 24 very similar to a Travis H Ann type, but not a Jalen Warren I'm not gonna go to that point because it's the Titans It is the tight and Sam Darnell is going to start. Honestly, I don't think anybody was considering starting Sam Darnell But I think he would have been a fun DFS play at least because he lit up the command He could maybe it should surprise nobody if he throws three touchdowns. He's just he's also probably going to throw 27 passes and Not run, so and the weather and the weather there Jonah Coleman's on IR and Adonine Mitchell is legitimately questionable. So if you're planning on starting out of nigh Mitchell They they elevated sterling shepherd and some others. That's a one o'clock game So we'll find out but you might want to make alternate plans and maybe you have to go to a guy like Xavier Hutchinson or something like that Or a Kendrick-born or whatever it might might be um we do not answer this. So let's answer some questions bowers or Shults. Oh, I did answer that and my answer would be Shults I have PPR Stevenson conception or Trey Tucker Oh, so I let's let's look half PPR. I've got Trey Tucker at eight and a half so to be Stevenson Dalton Schultz or neighbors. I would go Schultz Parker Washington or Quenchon Judkins and half PPR Parker Washington RJ Harvey or Jacori Krasky-Marit Oh, I have to get half PPR is probably going to be Bill full PPR would be Harvey half PPR I've got Harvey also Stevenson or Tony Pollard PPR Um, I would I have Stevenson one spot ahead if TyJ spears is out then I would start Pollard Kyle Menon guy seems to be healthy. Would you start him over a shot white? I would 49ers dst Jaguars dst your giants dst Uh, so I think I always have to look at the at the defense rankings. I don't think it's the giants Is the the main answer Um, and I don't have any of those ranked super high But I will go with the Jax If it's really rainy and windy then I would go with the giants Also, I don't think Brian Burns is going to play, but I haven't seen If he's been ruled out Anyway, uh, okay, we'll we'll up to that's whether to be
dependent for a lot of people, I bet Debo or or Shultz in the flex Shultz and Terrence Ferguson or Aronde Gatsden half PPR Ferguson. A couple more here. Bucky Irving or Jalen, it was a good question. Bucky Irving against the Vikings or Jalen Warren against the Bengals PPR. I've got Bucky. Okay. Love to be able to start both of them. And finally, more flowers or wicks. More flowers or wicks. So wicks is the money night game, right? Yeah. So or is it one flower? Is it? I would probably, I'm a little bit worried about DJ Moore anyway. Yeah. So I'd probably play more if he was healthy. Or I mean, if he's active and I'd probably play flowers, if he's active and I'll play wicks, if neither is active. Yeah. And I think, right, right. And I think we, we just at this point, if we had to guess, probably thinking flowers is not going to play. Right. This question comes out to DJ Moore, who's a 1 o'clock game you'll know, worked on Tabby and Wicks. I think of that case, you have to go with DJ Moore. Okay. Thank you, Heath. Thank you, everybody, for watching and listening. We'll see you in a few hours 11 a.m. Eastern YouTube comm slash fantasy football today. See ya.
