An early look at the waiver wire for Fantasy Week 7 right now on Fantasy Football Today Express. What's up, everybody? Welcome to the show. It's Adam Azer and Jamie Eisenberg. And Jamie, who's headlining the waiver wire this week. This is one of those weeks where it's not great. You know, we don't have, thankfully, any big injury replacements. And we have, you know, a few things happening with the bye weeks. For example, we're recording this Monday afternoon. We may have a commander's back, a commander's running back to go get after Ja'Cory Cross-Camara's not going to play a Monday night's game against the 49ers. So Rashad White and Austin Eckler are in the range of running backs that we tend to talk about 65% or more. Or less rostered on CBS Sports. But really, I think this is a good week to find a backup quarterback or maybe a long-term answer quarterback. You might be able to find a wide receiver that can help you long-term and a tight end or two that can help you long-term as well. I think if you're looking at the headliner, for me, it would probably be Omar Cooper Jr. coming off a strong game. You know, it's funny. I was thinking about this with Jeremy Bernard. We've had some, you know, these pop-up games. You know, Cardinal Tate's starting to come along a little bit. This receiving class, this rookie receiving class, we sort of crapped all over it a little bit. I wish we would see a healthy Deshaun Shribling, for example. But Bernard, with what he's doing and maybe now what Omar Cooper can do, you might have somebody that could be at least a starter in three receiver leagues the rest of the season. Yeah, I guess my issue with Cooper, I look forward to talking about it tomorrow, is the Adonai Mitchell thing. And, you know, just Garrett Wilson going to be more involved going forward. Yeah, Christian Gonzalez shut him down. But, yeah, look, first-round pick does that. You got to pay attention. Good stuff. So, what about. Let's stick with receiver. That's where the better names are. So, we have a few things at play here. I think you're looking at, to me, the next guy, and I know it's been sort of hit or miss, DeMario Douglas. He's now had two strong games. I know you can go back two weeks ago and say broken play, wide-open touchdown, but he did score twice. And then he comes back and has this game, and now you have Romeo Dobbs potentially injured. I know A.J. Brown's going to be better, 10 targets, all those things. Drake May is going to still need other players to make plays for him. And so, if Dobbs is going to miss time, Matt Collins on IR, DeMario Douglas is worth a look. Again, I wouldn't spend a lot of fab on him. Kendrick Bourne, I know not a great game yesterday, but still the involvement, you see it with the two games now of no Marvin Harrison. We'll find out about D.J. Moore coming off the bye week, but Khalil Shakir is now put in back-to-back strong games, and his role may still be the same no matter what happens to D.J. Moore. And then, you know, three rookies that I think are worth looking into, two are playing, one is not. Casey Concepcion comes through the concussion protocol. It feels like we're just waiting for him to do something special. Targets have been there for him. So, hopefully, there's going to be some good performances, good matchup this week against Tennessee. Jacoby Lane, Rashad Bateman got injured, and Lane, you know, maybe shook the rust off from the wrist injury. So, hopefully, he'll have some better games moving forward, especially the Mar Jackson plays. And then, for what it's worth, Jordan Tyson. You know, if you have an IR spot, definitely stash him. If you don't, he's going to play at some point. And, again, I don't think we've said this a lot. I don't think we're going to see him play. We're going to see the Texans, excuse me, the Saints stop throwing. He's going to be heavily involved and should have a chance to make some plays down the stretch. Any good running backs to pick up this week? No, but, you know, a few worth looking into. Again, if we get past the Texans situation, Kendra Miller just had a lot of carries. Travis Achan not going to return, at least for one more game. So, Miller's worth a look. Again, you know what you're getting. Not a lot of catches and touchdown dependent. And, right now, Alvin Kamara's at least scoring the touchdowns. He's catching them. I think you've got to explore. If you have a roster spot, Tyrone Tracy, just because he had a productive game and the Giants' backfield is so wide open. You can make the same case for Najee Harris. But, my guess is that Harris is not going to be the preferred alternate plan. I have no idea what to make of it. But, you know, maybe the younger player has a chance to break through and, you know, seemingly had a chance to be a contributor in the preseason and then fumble issues just plagued him. So, hopefully, after what he just did in the game where Cam Scadaboo was, you know, quote-unquote, not benched, but benched, Tracy might be worth a look. Zonovan Knight, just with his role and knowing that the Cardinals may keep Jeremiah Love out for one more week. And then, we don't know exactly what's happening with the Browns' backfield. Jaleel McLaughlin and Audra Guest may be worth a look in deeper leagues. All right, we're going to take a break. And, when we come back, we'll give you quarterbacks' tight ends, DSTs to look at on the waiver wire for Week 7. We'll be right back. We recently took a trip to Kansas City to catch a football game. And, we made a full weekend out of it. We spent some time exploring the city, made sure to get some classic Kansas City, and, of course, headed to Arrowhead Stadium to take in the game. Between tailgating, the crowd, and the energy inside the stadium, it was an awesome experience. There's just something about a game weekend. Great food, great football, and getting to experience it all together made it a trip to remember. But, while I was surrounded by fans taking in the atmosphere like I was, what hit me was just how many people were making a weekend out of it in Kansas City like I was, needing a place to hang their head after a night of tailgating and celebrating. For the last time, local Kansas City folks, or anyone who lives in a stadium city, football season is a perfect time to consider listing your space on Airbnb. Especially if you have travel plans yourself, why let your home sit idle while you're away? You can help meet the demand when a big game or concert comes to your town and give travelers that home away from home they need to really experience their trip to the fullest. It is such a practical way to earn extra money that can go right toward funding the next road trip or covering upcoming household bills. Your home might be worth more than you think. Find out how much at airbnb.com slash host. How about the quarterbacks this week, Jamie? So, this is actually a pretty decent position. There's two guys that I would look at as starters for this week, and that would be Kyler Murray taking on the Colts and Aaron Rodgers taking on the Saints. I think both guys are in play here as starting options. I'd give a slight nod toward Rodgers for one week, but Murray is going to have a good upcoming stretch and it would be nice to see what he looks like with his full complement of weapons. So, hopefully Jordan Addison is able to play. So, those would be two. And then Michael Penix will be the third if you're looking for an option in deeper one-quarterback leagues. We kind of got the blueprint of what this Falcons game could go like if the 49ers offense shows up and Penix has to throw coming off a three-touchdown game. He's been very good prior to this. He just hasn't had big numbers. And my guess is they're going to be in a shootout or chasing points. So, I like the setup for Michael Penix in deeper leagues. And then two QB leagues, Tanner McKee we know is going to be the starter for the Eagles, at least for the foreseeable future. We don't know. We don't know if he'll hold on to the job, but Jalen Hurts is now out for the season. And then J.J. McCarthy must be picked up in two quarterback and super flex leagues if he's the starter at any point for the rest of the season. You want to have him on your team. So, we don't even know. There's a chance he may start in week seven. The Giants just haven't given us any indication if it'll be McCarthy or Jameis Winston. Tight ends. You talked about DeMario Douglas. There's also Hunter Henry. And I don't know who the top priority should be. Obviously, it depends on who you need but they both have been pretty good recently. I'm sure he's on your list. Who else is a tight end? So, again, very similar quarterback. I think there's two guys that you can say have the ability to be starters for this one. Yeah, go on. Don't ignore it. Just ignore it. Hey, happy birthday to you. He's 50. How does it feel being a 50-year-old? The old fart? Feels no different than 49 right now. I'm sure it'll. You know, listen, I feel like I'm a young man still, so. a hundred percent uh 50s and new 30 well happy birthday is going all right so far it's going great uh just had a little surprise lunch my wife surprised me with a bunch of friends showing up nice you know people come out on a work day and spend some time um so i really appreciate that and you know it's been nice to hear from a lot of old friends you know how that goes yeah that's cool man all right but i don't care tight ends uh the two that i would look at as potential starters hunter henry's the easy one um like you said three straight games now of quality production and you know it's kind of like we're back to last year where we thought all these new weapons for the patriots would sort of decrease his value and here he is you know continuing to produce so um definite option to start against the bears on thursday night and then michael mayer you know he's kind of just continued to be not as productive as he was sunday where he was you know 15 16 ppr points um in the game uh that they just played i think you're you're looking against uh would they play again sunday buffalo buffalo i was gonna say new england for some reason um against buffalo but he's gonna you know between him and trey tucker i think alternate who's going to be the guy at second in terms of targets and when you when you really break it down he is their tight end brock powers is a receiver you know so mayor is going to get opportunities from cousins so a good low and starting option may have value rest of season i don't know what to make of colby parkinson versus tyler higby especially if davante adams is out it could be both of them having an opportunity but parkinson coming off the game that he just had is worth looking at in deeper leagues and then tommy tremble he's kind of been alternating with darren waller if you want to put it that way you know just in terms of who's getting more opportunities routes run etc uh but he did score a couple touchdowns this weekend and you know could be an option for a team that's playing very well or score touchdowns we can could be an option for a team that's playing very well okay and finally dst is for the week you nailed it with the chiefs last week so uh chiefs were very good and you know i think when you um when you start to look at it this is a an interesting one from some of the uh the teams that have good matches if anybody dropped the vikings make sure you go get them because taking on the colts we know that they're in uh somewhat tank mode right now after firing their gm um probably not going to be very good for them moving forward so i like the vikings they're my number one dst the browns good matchup against the titans so that's a team to go uh go look at there i think the titans offense going to struggle against cleveland's defense um and then you can take your pick really in the same game i would lean jets over dolphins but the dolphins has always sort of been a good matchup to target taking on miami's defense and then one sneaky one for me just because bo nicks has been so bad and the cardinals just did a great job against the rams offense is the cardinals defense you know so i don't know if they'll uh continue what has happened against the broncos because broncos actually played a lot of great teams lately but look bo nicks is struggling and might be an opportunity to shut down a struggling offense here for the cardinals if you're stuck not a great week for dst yeah the cardinals have actually had three good games this year at the chargers at the giants at the rams they've struggled against seattle san francisco and detroit and i think a lot of teams would struggle against those three um they are the second least roster dst on earth ahead of only the miami dolphins thank you very much jamie and a rocking birthday all right 50 years old still going strong we'll talk to him tomorrow and we'll ask you a bunch of questions about the waiver wire on fantasy football today paramount podcasts
