FFT Express - EARLY Week 4 Waiver Wire TARGETS! Gordon, Wright, Allen, Mariota, Cousins, & Others! (09/28 Fantasy Football Podcast)
12m 26s
The waiver wire this week centers on running backs, with Braille and Allen emerging as the top pick due to their likely increased touches after Reece Hall’s injury. Jaylen Wright’s return adds uncertainty, but Olly Gordon remains a solid backup due to potential coaching shifts. Among Saints running backs, Cameras offers a higher ceiling despite lower rostering, while Kendra Miller is more likely to be selected due to higher availability. Wide receiver Malik Washington shows a sharp increase in targets post-injury, signaling strong fantasy value. Quarterbacks like Mario, Geno Smith, and Sam Donnell feature in favorable matchups, with Jalen Daniels and the Titans’ tight ends offering high upside. Deep league options like Michael Mayor and Arande Gaston provide touchdown potential, while defensive opportunities arise from weak offenses, particularly the Bills vs. Patriots and Cowboys vs. Colts. Overall, the week demands strategic depth and patience, especially with injury updates and scheduling volatility. Teams should prioritize high-ceiling, matchup-friendly players while monitoring roster availability and injury reports.
Lot of injuries, lot of players to add. Let's talk about it right now on Fantasy Football today. Express. H&N out for the year, H&N out for several weeks, maybe. That's Devon and Travis, Reece Hall, Week to Week. Tough week for running backs. What are we looking at it with the waiver wire? It has to start at that position. Here's Jamie Eisenberg to tell you all about it. So, I still lean Braille and Allen over Dolphins guys simply because, well, two reasons. One, I think the Jets offense is going to be better, too. I don't know what we're going to get when Jaylen Wright is healthy. He missed Week 3 with a foot injury against the Chiefs, so while Olly Gordon performed well and should have an opportunity to be the lead guy. As we talked about on Sunday night, the last two times that Devon H&N was injured or missed games in 2025, Jaylen Wright was the lead running back, so it's a little bit of a touchy situation even though there's a clearer path to touches long term. We don't know how long Reece Hall is going to be out, the latest report, as of Monday afternoon is Week to Week. So, if Braille and Allen presumably is going to get the majority of the touches there and I think that's the case. He had all 17 running back touches after Reece Hall was injured. I think he makes the most sense to add first. And then it's a toss up really of which Saints running back, you like better. I think Kendra Miller is going to get more carries, but I think Allen and Cameras are probably still going to play more and have an opportunity for more catches. So, I don't know how to really say, go get a Saints guy because their running back group has been so bad, but I think just Cameras potential is still a little bit higher, ceiling is still a little bit higher in my opinion, so I would value Camera a little bit more. That being said, he's 65% rostered, whereas Kendra Miller is 4% rostered, so there's a more chance that you're going to get Kendra Miller. So, and just ranking these guys and I know it sounds like we don't have a lot of certainty here because they're still, at least for me, I'm working my way through this. I would rank at Braille and Allen one, Olly Gordon two, Allen Camera three, Kendra Miller four, Jalen Wright five, Isaiah Davis six. And if Jalen Wright, they said Jalen Wright's going to play in Week four, how would that change the rankings? I still would probably give a slight nod to Olly Gordon, just because I think this is a new coaching staff compared to last year, you know, so while Mike McDaniel and that group valued speed more so than anything else, Olly Gordon may do some things that this coaching staff likes better. I don't know, I really don't know. So. Yeah, I was looking for some clues in the first two games with how they were used and I really didn't see anything. Week one, they were both used on the same amount of snaps, they both played three or four snaps with the dolphins week two, I don't know when Jalen Wright got hurt, but he played more in the first half and Gordon more in the second half and it was the reverse in the first game. I feel like they did use right kind of more in passing situations. If it wasn't H in, then they did Gordon, which we would expect, you know, going forward with question is with the running downs. And Camera, you know, you said Kendra Miller, you might get more carries. I think Camera might get more carries too, because I mean, I think it's 50 50 like Camera had nine carries yesterday, Miller had four. And Miller was a healthy scratch in week two when Camera was healthy, but things do change when the starting running back goes out. It's not, you know, it's not the clear situation. So maybe the jets. So all right. I see where you're coming from from there. Do we have any wide receivers that we really like this week? There's a couple. You know, probably the headliner just because of what he just did with the first game without Alec Pierce. So he would probably be the first guy that I would go get after him. It's, you know, not necessarily, oh my god, I got to go get this guy. There are some good, um, deeply options, you know, cannot a month feels coming off strong. I mean, it was a big play, but coming off strong game. You got Bryson, Tremaine coming off a game where he just led the Panthers and Targets and there's no Jalen Coker for who knows how long. We talked about this. A lot of opportunities, but we'll see how long my game is up with Jordan Watkins. You could look at Trey Harris. I know he just led the, the chargers and Targets and had a strong game, but I still think McConkey and even Quint Johnson being in the mix on his team that's struggling right now and not in the so something you want to go after. I would be more encouraged by Chris Bell if I knew Caleb, though, it was going to miss more time, but it feels like those guys are going to probably be a week, you know, one week. It's one guy, one week is the other guy. And there was a report coming out of camp that they're going to play a lot of the same spots. And so with Malik Washington being on the field, I don't know how much like one guy is going to necessarily get more opportunities than the other. It could be Bell, just because of what his upside is, but hard to say. Matt Collins, the Patriots and Targets, they're playing the bills, they're probably chasing points. That's something to look at revenge game as well, you know, he's played for the bills. And then if you want to go back to Wanda Robbins and he's 65% roster, I don't know how much that was just, hey, let's feature him against the Giants, but, you know, still it was good to see some signs of life from him. With, you mentioned Chris Bell, but Malik Washington, one of the thought I had was that maybe the H and injury would help a guy like Malik Washington, those short area targets that were going to H and might go to him and coincidence, perhaps yet a 29.4% target per out run rate in week three, it was 21.5% each of the first two weeks. So massive boost in target per out run rate from Malik Washington, you know, for what it's worth. Even 43 to 56 yards every week, I guess he can't target you know, he had 10 targets, Bell had seven targets, this, this past game, they held the ball more than I think they've had all season, I have to go check that, but it seems like their time possession was probably the hardest, highest of the year. And now here comes Minnesota like, no, with that's true, it's not a week, you know, like this is not a guy, these are not guys you want to pick up and start this week. Now we are going into week five is starts to buy weeks, so just keep that in mind. For me, the, and it's not a big prize, but the prize that wide receiver is, is like, you know, do you know now, and he gets the commanders this week, too. All right. We'll take a break and look at quarterbacks tight ends, DSTs when we come back on FFT Express. What are we looking at for quarterbacks? It's a pretty good week, you know, it's just a matter of like, how much of these guys we want to trust and how will they continue or not continue to be successful. So you have, I haven't ordered it yet. I can tell you what that, how they are in my rankings. It's Mario doesn't burst set or at the top, burst set taking on the giants. We'll see what the weather's like going to be like there, but coming off a strong game, you know, you just never know which giants offense are going to show up, but preset looked good against San Francisco in the type of game script that we like for Jacobi Reset. Geno Smith is getting another favorable matchup. We'll see what you were recording this before the Bears play on Monday night, but presuming it's still the same Bears defense, Geno Smith looked good, and we said this going into last week that the schedule is going to be very favorable for him. Mario is taking on the Colt's defense. We don't know exactly when Geno is going to return, but it's most likely Mario to starting in week four, and we'll give you plays with his legs. I don't think the Colt's defense solved their problems because of what they did against the Texans. So Mario is definitely in play. And then there's just so many guys that you can look at and say, okay, the other coming off strong is I put Sam Donnell, let's see a 66% roster, we'll talk about him at some point on Tuesday, a little bit more in depth, but it's now back to back games for the Seahawks with a quarterback throwing three plus touchdowns. So there's clearly production in this passing game, and you noted this with Donnell last week. He had great performances last year against terrible defenses. And I think we'll see him have success against the chargers. I don't think the chargers are a terrible defense, but- No, but I also don't think their run game is working right now, either. So that's giving Donnell the chance to make plays. Kirk Cousins has multiple touchdowns and three straight games taking on the Chiefs that might be high-scoring game. I think Michael Pentax is going to continue to get better as he continues to perform well. Deshawn Watson now back to back strong games. He's running again. So that's good for him. Daniel Jones gets the commander this week. Maybe this is his best fantasy game. And then for the two QB leagues, Jaylon Daniels now is taking on the, I say, right? No, it's apparently Jalen. I heard it is Jalen too, but it's Jalen. Okay, so Jalen Daniels, the other Jalen Daniels spelled differently Tampa Bay's quarterback now for the next three weeks gets- I don't know if you want to call an easy match up, but you know, somebody you want to pick up in those four masters to see what he's going to look like for the time that Baker makes was out of the thumb injury. And then let's keep an eye on what happens with the Bears quarterback situation. You know, so again, we're recording this before- for the game. If Keenan plays well, he'll be the guy. If he stinks and they go to Bage in some point, he's cleared from the couch protocol, but Keenan's going to start taking on the Jets. We know that's not the scariest of matchups and the quarterback for Ben Johnson could be good for the intro until Caleb Williams is cleared. And then now you have J.J. McCarthy as the potential starter for the Giants at some point this season. So we'll see what happens there. Let's talk about Titans. Yeah, a lot of quarterbacks. One more running back to- to obviously considers Austin Nackler now that he signed with the commanders. And Darren Waller is he going to be one of the headliners here facing the Detroit lines who give up the most fantasy points to Titans? Yeah, and it's also, you know, coincides with- with Coker getting hurt. So Waller would be the first one to go get. Cedeek would be right behind him. It's another good week of, you know, these Titans that could be helpful for you, useful for you. So I think those are the two you want to go get right away. We don't know when to add nine Mitchell's going to play for the Jets. So I think that helped also Cedeek. He was very similar set up with what Waller's walking into to what- to Deek walk into last week. But if Mitchell's out, you know, Cedeek look great and maybe just being unlocked is all we needed from him. The Rams situation. Keep an eye on that. out if Ferguson plays, I would go back to him and Ferguson.
has out had the ankle injury I'm going to guess he's probably going to miss some time. Tyler Higgby's coming off a strong performance there so that's the pivot play if you're looking for the deep league option. Brent Strange gets the the bangles you know so we'll see if they solve their tight end problem. The Raiders combination of tight ends played well last week you know not in a straight huge game but Firemuth and Washington had you know to to decent performances when you put them together and then for the the deep league options I think we're going to see a lot of Michael Mayor playing in tandem with with Brock Bauer so he can help you you know score touchdown last week and no fan look for what is worth he's got three touchdowns in in in three games to touch down game last week one touchdown week one if you're desperate he could help you as well so we'll see what what goes on there with him moving forward. I still would look at Arande Gaston too and you know Hunter Henry I wouldn't rule him out if you're if you're stuck but not not a lot of love or trust at this point for the Patriots. Yeah okay and finally DSTs. Yeah not the best of weeks but you do have a backup quarterback behind a very bad offensive line in Tampa Bay so the packers maybe they show up and that's one I would look for the bills against the very inept Patriots offense right now so we'll see if that helps and Greg Rousseau is looking awesome so you know he's a candidate for defense player of the year at this point for the first weeks of the season and then if Houston's offense can't do anything against the Colts defense with how they're struggling you can look at the Cowboys DST for this week but those really were the three that I found because a lot of the good DSTs this week are rostered in a lot at least take keep an eye on the Ravens a lot of people drop them playing the Cowboys they get the Titans this week so that's the one that might be available in some of your shallow weeks. Yeah makes sense thank you Jamie we'll have an in depth breakdown of the waiver wire for you and I'll even tell you the bid I just put in for Braille and Allen although most of the people listening you know most of you I play and are going to be listening to the pot play with in the league are going to be listening to the podcast so I don't know if I'm going to give up that insider information what we'll talk about it on the show tomorrow you give your you give your percentage because not even knows what your budget is so well they could easily just look who is the type that it's the FFD open and I have Bracehaw so I put it in a bid I should I should rostered Braille and Allen that was my biggest mistake but why did I not roster Braille and Allen big lazy mistake there all right we'll be back tomorrow with more of the waiver wire up.

FAQs
Braille and Allen should be your top priority due to their likely majority of touches after Reece Hall's Week-to-Week injury. They’ve consistently received carries when Hall is out, and their projected production makes them the most reliable option.
Jaylen Wright’s return in Week 4 could shift touches toward him, but uncertainty remains. While he may get more opportunities, Olly Gordon could benefit from a new coaching staff that values different play styles, making him a solid backup option.
Kendra Miller has a higher chance of being on the roster (4% rostered), but Allen Camera has a higher ceiling and potential for more touches. However, Camera is only 65% rostered, so both carry risk but Camera offers better upside.
Malik Washington is a standout with a significant boost in target share (29.4% in Week 3), especially after a healthy scratch. His increased target volume and game time make him a valuable waiver wire pick.
Mario and Geno Smith are top choices with favorable matchups. Mario faces the Giants, and Geno Smith has a strong matchup against the Bears. Sam Donnell and Deshawn Watson also show consistent performance and are worth considering.
Darren Waller is a top pick, especially facing a Detroit defense that gives up many fantasy points. His matchup and recent performance make him a strong option, especially with Coker’s injury creating opportunities.
