FFT Express - EARLY Week 3 Waiver Wire TARGETS! Schultz, Young, Coleman, Tucker, Boston, & Others! (09/21 Fantasy Football Podcast)
11m 45s
The Viori running shoe is praised for its comfort, durability, and stylish design, making it ideal for daily wear and active lifestyles. In fantasy football for Week 3, key waiver wire targets include Jonah Coleman for running back depth, Bryce Young as a top quarterback due to strong consistency, and Denzel Boston and Trey Tucker for wide receiver value. Injury concerns involving Dobbins, Barkley, and others create opportunities for value players like Tank Bigsby, Emma Johnson, and Sean Watson. Quarterback depth remains solid with Kyle Murray and Watson showing potential. Tight ends and DSTs are also viable, particularly with strong defensive matchups against the Bengals, Panthers, and Packers. Managers should prioritize flexibility and adaptability due to unpredictable injury updates and shifting game dynamics. The advice emphasizes focusing on high-impact players with proven performance and matchups, while monitoring injury reports closely. This week’s lineup offers both short-term fixes and long-term value, especially in deeper leagues where marginal gains matter.
The core short from Viori is one pair I keep reaching for. Morning run, afternoon training, watching the game, does matter. Soft four-way stretch, built-in liner, comfortable all day. A lot of running back injuries, but hopefully none of them are too serious. Jamie, what's the waiver wire looking like right now for week three? So, let's start running back. We got a little bit of a positive update on JK Dobbins that it sounds like he's going to be able to play in week three in the same thing. Maybe with RJ Harvey, but I'm still going to go get Jonah Coleman. 49% rostered. You saw the way he looked in week two against Jacksonville. That's a good run defense. I think that we'll see him even when everybody's healthy in the mix. And you've already dealt with the one JK Dobbins injury. Imagine if there's a full season injury like we had last year. I know you've talked about this a lot that maybe it's still RJ Harvey's job. I'm going to guess it's a split situation if any of the guys miss. But I do think that if it's a JK Dobbins absence, we get Jonah Coleman on rushing down and that leads to some quality production. I don't think you'll get a must start running back unless, of course, both guys are out in week three. When the Broncos, they take on. Don't tell me. Don't tell me. Don't tell me. It's a tough match up for them. The ramps. So, I think Jonah Coleman is certainly somebody you want to go add. Barkley's injuries, one worth keeping an eye on. I think we'll see Tank Bigsby as the more added player, but don't forget about Will Shipley. Tank Bigsby's rostered in 49% of leagues. I'm still rostering him wherever I can get my hands on him, which would be Emma Johnson 57% rostered. I don't really need to roster him because I have him in every league where he's available that I'm playing, but I think you should go get Emma Johnson because we see the way this offense operates. They get the dolphins this week. I'm going to guess both guys are getting an opportunity to run the ball. Emmanuel Wilson, it sounds like a generic price is going to be okay dealing with the chest/shoulder injury. I guess it's the way Mike McDonald framed it on Monday, but 4% rostered, he just had a lot of work. So, make sure you get, Emmanuel Wilson, if you have an opportunity to stash and running back. Those are really the major injury concerns. There's Alvin Camera, there's Taijay Spears, you know, there's a lot of handcuff options. You can pick up Braille and Allen's quarter touchdown. I'll have that list again on Tuesday of the handcuff running back so that I think should be rostered in every league. - Caleb Johnson maybe is another guy we'll talk about on Tuesday. Quarterback is Bryce Young lead number one player to get on the way to wire? He's not the number one player to get. He's definitely number one quarterback to get. You can make a case for Dalton Schultz just based on his roster percentage to the 60% coming off the game. He just had obviously if, you know, there's a setback during the week between J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey, Jonah Coleman is going to be in that conversation. But Bryce Young has been awesome through the first two games of the season. And now he gets Cleveland and I know the Browns did a much better job against Baker, maybe for certainly a much better job than I expected them to do. But the way that Bryce Young has played, this is now seven of his last nine games going back to last year with at least 20 or more fantasy points, coincides with Dalton Coker becoming more of a factor in the offense. So I think when he has both those receivers on the field, now you throw down a wall or in the mix, Bryce Young is looking like a great replacement for Caleb Williams, great replacement for Dan Daniels and maybe just a great starting quarterback that we can ride for the rest of the season because the schedule's not exactly tough. And as I said on Sunday night's recap show, he's doing this that is tackles. You know, so once the starting offensive tackles get back, it could be even better for Bryce Young. - All right. Any other quarterbacks that you feel like mentioning it kind of- - Well, Kyle Murray got clear at these to start in week three. So maybe we get the guy that we were hoping to see 64 percent rostered. So got back sooner than I expected. So that's some money you definitely want to put up put on the list of replacement quarterbacks. I'll still go back to Jacobi for Saturday night and have a great game against Seattle, that Seattle San Francisco's defense in week three, probably not as tough. So maybe we get a better performance from him. Once you start to get past those guys, it's a sliding scale of who do you want to trust. Geno Smith gets the Lions this week. We've seen what that defense has looked like. So Geno's in the conversation for a one-week option. Clearly Marcus Mario, depending on how long Geno's going to be out, we know that that's been a good fantasy quarterback, a great backup quarterback target. He could help you. We're expecting Michael Penex to start on Thursday. So maybe we get a better Falcon's quarterback performance moving forward, certainly better than what we've seen the first two weeks. We know the weapons. They're great. So that's not a bad option to consider. And then Daniel Jones, look, he didn't have a great fantasy game against Chase, but he looked a lot better. Not having Alex Pierce most likely is going to be tough, but still he's going to do some things with his legs. Let's give the Sean Watson credit. He played really well against Tampa Bay. Maybe he's going to start to be an option that fantasy managers consider in some deeper leagues. Yeah, absolutely. And maybe making things more interesting for Denzel Boston, who I'm sure we're going to talk about after this break. When we look at wide receivers on the waiver wire for fantasy week three, we'll be right back. You know, Dan, losing weight can feel a lot like getting so close to the end zone and then losing the ball right before you cross the line, winning the game is great, but maintaining that success season after season, that's where the real challenge lies. That's n-o-o-m.com. Noom, lose for keeps. Initial one month subscription from $39 plus tax and $99 plus tax per month there after cost of medication not included. Final pricing depends upon program selection. Yes, the Sean Watson and the one-in-one Cleveland Brown. You know what, I'm going to do a quick report here. I'm going to see if I can. Who has the best, I don't know if how to do this. Who has the best passer rating in the NFL since the beginning of the second quarter of week one? It might be, he might be up there to Sean Watson. He's been pretty good since that quarter. Anyway, Jamie, what do we got to wide receiver this week? We have a few options. You know, the one week scenario, if they flowers out, Rashad Bateman looked awesome against the Saints and who knows if they make it, let him make the trip to Brazil, but even if he does, he's not going to be at 100% and you have Kobe Lane missing. So, Rashad Bateman's in the discussion for just a maybe short term replacement. But long term, you have two guys that are right around the same roster percentage and that's Denzel Boston and Trey Tucker. We talked about Tucker going into week one. We talked about a lot this off season that he could be the number one receiver for the Raiders didn't see in week one. We definitely saw it in week two as he beat up the charger secondary. And Denzel Boston now, two long touchdowns. One was through the air in week one. Great throw from DeShon Watson and garbage time. The second one, just a great play from Boston bouncing off tacklers and finding the end zone. But we know that they're two young receivers are going to make plays. We know that they're going to get better. Concepts, you know, it's rostered in too many leagues this point to discuss as a waiver wire option. Boston is not. So, I'm going to put Boston at the top of the list just because I think we'll continue to get better. And if this version of DeShon Watson, let's just not even expect him to get better. But if this version of DeShon Watson shows up, we can week out. Pretty good for Denzel Boston right now. So that's really all we worry about. But Boston, Trey Tucker, Rashad Bateman, you still have the guys in Houston because we don't know when Nico Collins is going to come back. I'm going to go to Xavier Hodges and I know he'd have a great game, but he had nine targets. And he just gets a lot of targets in the three games now going back to the last two years when Nico Collins has been out. Keep an eye on the situation in Miami, Caleb Douglas never good game. And now he's hurt. So maybe that's Malik Washington has just been six plus targets in each of the first two games. Maybe it's Chris Bell getting a bigger opportunity. Maybe the situation would have avoided. I totally get that, but that's one to keep an eye on. And Tony Williams up to 60% roster almost threw a touchdown for Washington to Terry McCorn to have a great game. But that's hard to judge and just saying that we're going to see what happens with Mark Smaria moving forward. And then just a guy that I think will give you some decent low-end production. Maybe two. You got Duntabian Wicks with the Eagles. He's had two positive games. Target's had exactly been off the charts. But, you know, Jalen Hurts trying to find a second or a third option, and it could be the second option of Dallas Goddard's out with that injury that he suffered in week two. And then Khalif Raymond, I know we don't want to buy into it, but it's been now two weeks of consistent targets. We'll see what changes with Tyson Beijing as a starting quarter back there. That's just another player to keep an eye on moving forward. Yeah. Raymond actually was out at the one yard line, but that was a poorly executed play. That should have been a touchdown for Khalif Raymond tight ends. Yeah. What if Dalton Schultz isn't available? What do we do then? So the list for me goes next would be Hunter Henry, 57% roster. I think, you know, they played the Steelers. It wasn't exactly the best game, but targets were there for him. If you're looking at like some matchup based situations, you got Kenyans to D taking on the Lions. We've seen now tight ends the first two weeks. First, it was the Saints tight ends in week one, both Noah Fant and Johan Johnson. Then week two, it was Dalton. He could get going crazy. Sadiq may be an option, you know, Aaron Glenn knowing that defense a little bit. Still from, you know, two years removed from coaching the team, but we know the safeties are not going to be there. I think Pat Frymouth has a little bit better performance in week three than he did in week two. Patriots defense just obviously very good. And then the obvious one just from a touchdown standpoint would be Darren Waller, 9% roster, scored two touchdowns. I think he'll start to get ramped up a little bit. We know he's not going to be a target hog on this team, but he should be the third option. Just looking the way Bryce Young is playing right now, that's a guy to consider. And then just based on the injuries in Los Angeles with the chargers, I know you don't want to buy into the chargers right now, but Aronde Gatson, scored a touchdown. Both David and Jocque and Charlie Kohler are injured. Maybe we get Gatson being a little bit more of a factor. We did see five plus targets for David and the Jocque in week one. That was after Latin McConkey got injured, but, you know, Gatson was a big, bigger part of the offense last season than he certainly has been in the first two weeks. All right, good stuff there with four of those positions. We also have DSTs.
Don't forget about the DSTs, do we have a great one this week? We do. I don't have the percentages, but I'll tell you who caught my eye was, it's time I think to bind to the Bengals. They're playing much better, and we saw what the Steelers offense look like right now. So the Bengals will be one. The Chiefs, I don't know what their roster percentage is, but they get the dolphins. I think it's just you chase the dolphins on a week-to-week basis if you can. The Saints defense is playing better, they're taking on Indianapolis right this week with no outpairs. So something. No, they're getting Las Vegas. I'm sorry, Las Vegas. Excuse me. The Texans get the Colts. The Texans get the Colts, excuse me. You have that potential Raiders matchup, which could always be of interest. And then the Panthers look, they played really well last week against the Falcons. We'll see what they look like this week against the Browns. So all the positive things we just said about the Shawn Watsonics, they'll be the Shawn Watson and that defense. And don't forget about the Giants against the Titans. Giants against Titans. And then also the Packers, just in case Penix doesn't play, if you're getting the Packers against those back-up quarterbacks, they'll be great. That's a Thursday game. I mean, you might want to just make the Packers a top priority and then drop them. I mean, you don't even have to drop them. It's not like Penix is all pro, but if it's Jack Strand or Cooper Rush facing the Packers on Thursday, start the Packers' DST. Okay, thanks, Jamie Eisenberg. Dave Richard will be with us tomorrow to break it all down, talk about all these players and more. And yeah, we'll talk tomorrow with the wave of our Shawn Fincy football today.
