FFT Express - EARLY Week 3 Waiver Wire TARGETS! Schultz, Young, Coleman, Tucker, Boston, & Others! (09/21 Fantasy Football Podcast)

In Week 3 of fantasy football, injury concerns are shaping the waiver wire landscape, with key running back and quarterback options emerging. Jonah Coleman stands out as a reliable rushing threat, especially if JK Dobbins or RJ Harvey miss, given his strong Week 2 performance. Bryce Young is the top quarterback pick due to his elite fantasy output over the last nine games, including recent success against the Browns and improving with multiple target receivers. Wide receiver options are limited, but Denzel Boston leads the pack with two touchdowns and a clear upward trajectory, making him a top-tier waiver wire target. Other notable pickups include Emmanuel Wilson (recovering from injury), Will Shipley, and Tank Bigsby (both 49% rostered), while Sean Watson shows strong fantasy value with a high passer rating and consistent production. Tight ends like Darren Waller and Hunter Henry offer low-end production, with Waller already scoring two touchdowns and expected to ramp up. DST opportunities are present, especially against the Giants (vs. Titans), Packers (vs. backup QBs), and Panthers (vs. Browns), where defenses are weaker. The Raiders, Dolphins, and Chiefs also present strong matchups, with Sean Watson and the Bengals' defense offering favorable value. Managers should prioritize these high-impact, injury-affected matchups to maximize fantasy points in Week 3.

An early look at the waiver wire right now on fantasy football today express Week three is here a lot of running back injuries, but hopefully none of them are too serious. Jamie What's the waiver wire looking like right now for week three? So let's start running back We got a little bit of a positive update on JK Dobbins that it sounds like he's going to be able to play in Week three and the same thing maybe with RJ Harvey, but I'm still gonna go get Jonah Coleman 49% rostered You saw the way he looked in week two against Jacksonville. That's a good run defense I think that we'll see him even when everybody's healthy in the mix and you've already dealt with the one JK Dobbins injury Imagine if there's a full season injury like we had last year I know you've talked about this a lot that maybe it's still RJ Harvey's job I'm gonna guess it's a split situation if any of the guys miss But I do think that if it's a JK Dobbins absence we get Jonah Coleman on rushing downs and that leads to some quality production I don't think you'll get a must-start running back unless of course both guys are out in week three when the Broncos They take on don't tell me don't tell me don't tell me it's tough match up for them The ramps so I think Jonah Coleman's certainly somebody you want to go add Barkley's injuries one worth keeping eye on I think we'll see tank Bigsby as the more added player But don't forget about Will Shipley tank Bigsby's rostered in 49% of leagues I'm still rostering him wherever I can get my hands on him, which would be Emma Johnson 57% rostered I don't really need to roster them because I have him in every league where he's available that I'm playing but I think you should go get Emma Johnson because we see the way this offense operates They get the dolphins this week. I'm gonna guess both guys getting an opportunity to run the ball Emmanuel Wilson sounds like a generic price going to be okay dealing with the chest slash shoulder injury I guess is the way Mike McDonald framed it on Monday But 4% rostered he just had a lot of work so make sure you get Emmanuel Wilson if you have an opportunity to stash running back those are really the major injury concerns There's Alvin Camera. There's Taijay Spears. You know, there's a lot of handcuff options you can pick up You know Braille and Allen's quarter touchdown I'll have that list again on on Tuesday of the handcuff running back so that I think should be rostered in every league Caleb Johnson maybe is another guy we'll talk about on Tuesday Quarterback is Bryce young lead number one player to get on the way we're he's not the number one player to get He's definitely number one quarterback to get you can make a case for Dalton Schultz just based on his roster percentage 60% coming off the game. He just had obviously if you know, there's a setback during the week between J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey Jonah Coleman's gonna be in that conversation But Bryce Young has been awesome through the first two games of the season and now he gets Cleveland And I know the Browns did a much better job against Baker made for certainly much better job than I expected them to do But the way that Bryce Young has played this is now seven of his last nine games going back to last year with at least 20 or more Fantasy points coincides with Jalen Coker becoming more of a factor in the offense So I think when he has both those receivers on the field now you throw down a wall or the mix Bryce Young is looking like a great replacement for Caleb Williams great replacement for Dan Daniels And maybe just a great starting quarterback that we can ride for the rest of the season because the schedule's not exactly tough And as I said on Sunday nights recap show he's doing this that is tackles You know, so once the starting offensive tackles get back it could be even better for Bryce Young All right Any other quarterbacks that you feel like mentioning it kind of already got clarity to start in week three So maybe we get the guy that we were hoping to see 64 percent rostered So got back sooner than I expected so that's some money. You definitely want to put up put on the list of replacement quarterbacks I'll still go back to Jacobi Presettino. He didn't have a great game against the out all that Seattle San Francisco's defense in week three probably not as tough So maybe we get a better performance from him Once you start to get past those guys. It's a sliding scale. If we do want to trust Geno Smith gets the Lions this week We've seen what that defense is look like so Geno's in the conversation for a one-week option Clearly Marcus Mario to depending on how long Jane Daniels going to be out We know that that's been a good fantasy quarterback a great backup quarterback to target He could help you we're expecting Michael Penex to start on Thursday So maybe we get a better Falcons quarterback performance moving forward certainly better than what we've seen the first two weeks We know the weapons. They're great. So that's not a bad option to consider And then Daniel Jones look he didn't have a great fantasy game against Chase But he looked a lot better not having out appears most likely is gonna be tough But still he's gonna do some things with his legs And let's give the Sean Watson credit he played really well against Tampa Bay Maybe he's going to start to be an option that fantasy managers consider in some deeper leagues Yeah, absolutely and maybe making things a more interesting for Denzel Boston who I'm sure we're gonna talk about after this break When we look at wide receivers on the waiver wire for fantasy week three will be right back Yes to Sean Watson and the one-in-one Cleveland Brown, you know what? I'm gonna do a quick report here I'm gonna see if I can who has the best I don't know if I'd do this Who is the best passer rating in the NFL since the beginning of week of the second quarter of week one? It might be you might be up there to Sean Watson. He's been pretty good since that quarter anyway, Jamie What do we got a wide receiver this week? We have a few options, you know You know you had the one week scenario if they flowers out Rashad Bateman looked awesome against the Saints and Who knows if they make it let him make the trip to Brazil? But even if he does he's not gonna be at a hundred percent and you have to Kobe Lane missing so Rashad Bateman's in the discussion for just a maybe short-term replacement But long term you have two guys that are right around the same roster percentage and that's Denzel Boston and trade Tucker We talked about Tucker going into week one We talked about a lot of soft season that he could be the number one receiver for the Raiders didn't see in week one We definitely saw it in week two as he beat up the charger secondary and Denzel Boston now two long touchdowns One was through the air in week one great throw from Dishon Watson and Garber's time the second one just a great play from Boston bouncing off tacklers and finding the end zone But we know that they're two young receivers are going to make plays We know that they're gonna get better conception owns roster didn't too many leagues this point to discuss as a waiver Wire option Boston is not so I'm gonna put Boston at the top of the list Just because I think we'll continue to get better and if this version of Dishon Watson Let's just not even expect them to get better But if this version of Dishon Watson shows up weekend week out Pretty good for Denzel Boston right now. So that's really all we worry about but Boston trade Tucker Rashad Bateman you still have the guys in Houston because we don't know when Nico Collins is gonna come back I'm gonna go to Xavier Hutchison I know you have a great game But he had nine targets and he just gets a lot of targets in the three games now going back to the last two years When Nico Collins has been out keep an eye in the situation in Miami killed those never good game And now he's hurt so maybe that's Malik Washington has just been six plus targets in each of the first two games Maybe it's Chris Bell getting a bigger opportunity Maybe the situation would avoid it until he get that but that's one to keep an eye on and Tony O'Williams up to 60% roster almost through a touchdown for Washington to Terry McCorn to have a great game But that's hard to judge and just saying that you know We're gonna see what happens with Mark Smarrion moving forward and then just a guy that I think we'll give you some decent low-end production maybe - you got done tabing wicks with the Eagles He's had two positive games targets had exactly been off the charts But you know Jalen hurts trying to find a second or third option and it could be the second option of Dallas Goddard's out with that injury that he suffered in Week 2 and then Khalif Raymond I know we don't want to buy into it But it's been now two weeks of consistent targets. We'll see what changes with Tyson Beijing as a starting quarterback there That's just another player to keep an eye on moving forward Yeah, Raymond actually was out at the one-yard line But that that was a poorly executed play that should have been a touchdown for Khalif Raymond tight ends Yeah, what if Dalton Schultz isn't available? What do we do then? So the list for me goes next would be Hunter Henry 57% roster I think you know they played the Steelers it wasn't exactly the best game, but targets were there for him If you're looking at like some match-up based situations, you got Kenyans to dig taking on the Lions We've seen now tight ends the first two weeks first. It was the Saints tight ends in week one both Noah Fant and Joanne Johnson then week two it was Dalton could get going crazy Sadik maybe an option, you know Aaron Glenn knowing that defense a little bit still from you know Two years removed from coaching the team, but we know the safeties are not gonna be there I think Pat for our move has a little bit better performance in week three than he didn't week two Patriots defense just obviously very good And then the obvious one just from a touchdown standpoint would be Darren Waller 9% rostered scored two touchdowns I think he'll start to get ramped up a little bit We know he's not gonna be a target hog on this team, but he should be the third option Just looking the way Bryce Young is playing right now that's I got to consider and then just based on the injuries in Los Angeles with the chargers I know you don't want to buy into the chargers right now, but around the gatson score to touchdown Both Dave and the joker and Charlie Kohler are injured Maybe we get gatson being a little bit more of a factor. We did see five plus targets for Dave and the joker in week one That was after Latin McConkey got injured, but you know gatson was a big Bigger part of the offense last season than he certainly has been in the first two weeks All right good stuff there with four of those positions. We also have DSTs. Don't forget about the DSTs. Do we have a great one this week? We do I don't give I don't have the percentages, but I'll tell you who caught my eye was It's time. I think to buy into the bangles, you know, they're they're playing much better and we saw what the Steelers offense look like right now So the bangles will be one The chiefs. I don't know what their roster percentage is, but they get the dolphins I think it's just you chase the dolphins on a week three bases if you can The same defense is playing better, you know, they're taking on Indianapolis right this week With with no outpairs. So something I know they're getting Las Vegas. I'm sorry Las Vegas. Excuse me Texans get the coast. Texans get the coast. Excuse me. Um, you have that You know potential Raiders matchup which could always be Adventurous and then the Panthers look they played really well last week against the Falcons We'll see what they look like this week against the Browns So you know all the positive things we just said about the Sean Watson still be the Sean Watson Yeah, and that defense and don't forget about the Giants against the Titans Giants against Titans and then also the Packers just in case Pentax doesn't play. Yeah, if you're getting Packers against those backup quarterbacks They'll be great. That's a Thursday game. I mean, you might want to just make the Packers a top priority and then drop them I mean, you don't even have to drop them. It's not like Pentax is all pro, but if if it's Jack Strand or Cooper Rush facing the Packers on Thursday, starting to Packers DST. OK, thanks, Jamie Eisenberg. Dave Richer will be with us tomorrow to break it all down, talk about all these players and more. And yeah, we'll talk tomorrow with WaverWire, Show On Fancy football today.
