FFT Express - Beat the Waiver Wire! MUST-STASH Players Before Week 7 (10/22 Fantasy Football Podcast)

For week eight, the waiver wire strategy focuses on high-upside players with strong matchups and under-rostered status. Jalen Noll stands out as a reliable wide receiver for week seven due to his 100% catch rate and consistent PPR points. Antonio Williams and Chico Carrasco are recommended for their target share growth due to injuries. Kendrick Bourne offers strong value despite a brutal schedule, being under-rostered at just 33%. Among running backs, Kamani Videla, Big Speed, and Jonah Coleman are viable stashes, with Coleman potentially available on IR until the Broncos release him. Tight ends like Chico Conque, Michael Mayer, and Terrence Ferguson provide depth, with Mayer and Conque offering the most immediate upside. Quarterbacks such as Dak Prescott and Baker Mayfield present favorable schedules and matchup opportunities. DST options like the Titans and Colts are highlighted due to defensive injuries and potential turnovers. The strategy emphasizes patience and targeting players in early-to-mid season with upside in late weeks, particularly when key starters are injured or scheduled against weak defenses. This approach maximizes value through strategic, data-driven stashes rather than relying on early-season trends.

Let's beat the waiver wire for week eight when we've got Houston, New Orleans the giants in the 49ers on by right now I'm Adam Azer with Dave Richard and let's do it All right Dave here. We go fire it up. What do you think for week eight? Who you like? My favorite pickups, there's three there's not one Let's start with one that might be able to help you in week seven and then you can't use them in week eight But maybe he's someone who could be a number three receiver rest of season and it's Jalen Noll The world did not pick up enough Jalen Noll following waivers on Tuesday and Wednesday still out there in just over 60% of CBS sports leagues over his last three games his route rate is ticked up It's added I wish I had a few more targets But he's literally caught a hundred percent of his targets in his past four games He's had at least 11.9 ppr points in each of his past three with a red zone touchdown In each of his last two and you think about all the pieces to this Houston offense You've got Nico you've got Marvin Ares in junior tank Dell is coming back Here's a guy who's going to play in the slot the role is not threatened And he's someone who should be able to get you in that neighborhood of anywhere from 11 to 20 ppr points like he did last week That's the guy you can use in week seven The other two are names you've heard us talk about a lot this week. They're on the commanders and Tony O'Williams Chico Carquo both of them out there in at least 70 percent 70 of CBS sports leagues they both have an opportunity to get a better target share than what Jalen Noll has gotten Now that Terry McLean out for the year in Washington. You just can't use him this week You might watch this video on Thursday or Friday Saturdays of the day you wake up you get out of bed Your run to your computer or you just grab your phone and you probably sleep right next to your phone anyway And go and drop somebody that you're not going to use in week seven and go pick up one of the commanders players Antonio Williams or Chico Carquo And I'll just I know you're going to get to him later. I'm sure you are But in the same range of wide receiver is Kendrick born in the midst of this horrible schedule He does get Dallas in week eight So Denver this week Dallas and week eight Seattle Rams Kansas City after that. It's horrible But there is this one great matchup for Kendrick born is only 33 percent rostered And quite frankly Dave I thought you were going to say Tyrone Tracy Jr And you start talking about guy you can't use in week eight You can use them. I don't know if we want to use Tracy this week Is another guy I thought you're going to say Tyrone Tracy Jr Was going to gonna be one of your headliners here want to move over to running back which running back should we be stashing? Well, keep in mind that for week eight there's no Christian McCaffrey and you can't even use Tyrone Tracy So if you want to stash Tyrone Tracy For this week You might do it, but unless he has a really good game and he's like the featured back for the giants You're going to be sending him right back to the wave war. So that's why I didn't have him on there But you could use him this week if you're desperate at running back Kendrick Miller would also make the cut Don't forget about the Cardinals running backs Tyler Algera is on him a night Our own Matt Zenit said that Jeremiah love will not play in week number seven Dylan Sampson is also on that list Let's talk about some stash running backs Jamie had Jonah Coleman on his waiver list back on Tuesday And he still makes the threshold a lot of people didn't take that advice He's in that same boat of Saturday pickup and you can actually still stash him on IR Until the Broncos take him off of IR which I imagine they would do at some point on Saturday You still might be able to sneak him through the week if you keep him on IR But that's an interesting running back stash We don't know how the running backs will shake out in Cincinnati with chase Brown and Somajay P-Rine P-Rine's out there In 75 plus percent of CBS leagues and then another one this one won't get a lot of traction This is for the deeply guys Adam are you a deeply guy? deeply gay Well then this one's for you Kamani Videla has been the most efficient running back that the Chargers have had over their last three games and I wonder if they come out of the buy and give him a little bit more work You can also handle passing game work that offensive line will eventually get better If you're in a deeply Kamani Videla is out there and over 60 percent of leagues I'll give you one more. This is an IR stash tank big speed 80 percent of leagues he's available in If Safequan gets traded Tank big speed will eventually be the main back for Philly which I don't know if that's going to be great when we're in the second half of the season But big speed is a halfway decent running back if he's healthy and he's the future back for the Eagles Okay, well stash Kamani are that's an easy thing to do All right, we're gonna take a break and give you some more wide receivers quarterbacks tight ends DSTs to stash right now Or maybe even start this week when we come back on FFT express Straight up is the Friday podcast that takes the week's most talked about stories seriously This is what the internet does best it turns speculation into entertainment but not too seriously This is all fake shut up Cancel you got a double cancel bro every week join me Vladimiro G2 and meet Kelli O'Grady as we ditch the anchoress after hours To break down the story the internet just can't stop talking about with a cocktail to match the mood. What are we calling the show? Straight up available wherever you get your podcast And we are back all right, so we've given you Antonio Williams I brought up Kendrick Bourne Yeah, Bourne would be the next name after Jaylen Noel Jaylen knows week seven weeks I wrote it down on on my notes week seven desparados So you're just you're desperate for someone to go and pick up and put near line up for week seven Those would be the top two guys, but don't forget about Christian Kirk Casey conception They're both decent stashes too Kirk and conception concept shown certainly more long term than Kirk And they they could end up being helpful in week seven, but I like tank del is a decent stash Let me give you one let me give you two let me give you three Three more wide receivers on the stash list a mechobook is I think he's in the concussion protocol He's got concussion listed next to him on the other report If he misses week seven and I would assume that would be it, but if he does Ted Hurst 93% available in CBS sports leagues. I saw Baker Mayfield Trying to connect and succeeding throwing to Ted Hurst and if there's no abuka Hurst will see more playing time in the matchup against Carolina this week Carolina's secondary is all banged up There will be an opportunity for Ted Hurst to get some numbers Don't forget about conato a month filled with the Rams He's theoretically their number two wide receiver I don't know if that means he's going to be their number two target getter I don't know what that means. He's going to be their number four target getter Because of all the tight ends they use and the running backs they have, but mom field is interesting And it looks like Caleb Douglas is trending toward playing and we saw him have a pretty decent role week one for the dolphins Miami's coming out of their buy. Let's see what their offense looks like You could do worse than stash and Caleb Douglas into week seven Who's a better stash Travis Hunter or Tyree kill At this point, I think it's Hunter We may have jumped the gun on Tyree kill, but the timeline of it made sense that when When it seemed like Tyree kill was announcing that he was coming back We were excited and then he went to court and there was that whole thing with his ex-wife And I think teams got scared off by that. So if you had to pick one, I think Travis Hunter would be the one All right, how about quarterbacks for maybe week seven, but specifically week eight Well, I don't love Jacobi percept for week seven, but who does Jacobi percept play in week number eight? Dallas Godboys 22 or more fantasy points to three of their past four quarterbacks That's before Tanner McKee gets a hold of them I don't know if Tanner McKee is going to get 22 fantasy points, but he might because that Dallas defense has turned out to be so bad And presets out there in about 50% of CBS sports leagues. The rest of the quarterbacks aren't great It's Sam Darnold. He gets the bears Bears have allowed at least 29 fantasy points to each of their past two quarterbacks Plus whatever they do against Drake May on Thursday By the time you watch this, you might know what they did Geno Smith takes on the Raiders. It's a revenge game 21 or more fantasy points to four straight quarterbacks Las Vegas has you miles will make it five because they're seeing Matthew Stafford And then other names like Mayfield, Penix, McKee And let's not forget about Fernando Mendoza. He'll have an opportunity to play at some point for the Raiders The more they lose, the more likely he will go ahead and step in as Las Vegas's main man under center Mayfield schedule is pretty favorable going forward. It's not amazing But it's it's pretty favorable. He's 53% roster. People will start to pick him up And he might be playing this week tight ends to stash Chico Conquo tops the list and if we're stashing and just stashing And you've got the IR spot, especially Terrence Ferguson makes sense because he will eventually be back It might be week nine. Hopefully it's week nine But when he does come back, we're talking about somebody who could just slide right in and be in the number two target Getter for the Rams ahead of Konata Mumfield If you're desperate for a tight end this week, Michael Mayer is out there in 75% of leagues I know the matchup looks tough against the Rams They are beat up on defense. They might be down Without including Miles Garrett, four starters from where they were earlier The season including linebacker Nate Lamb and if Lamb and doesn't play That means Omar Spades is going to play. That means the coverage will be easier for tight ends in the short area Whatever and Mayer just gets a lot of targets generally speaking with the Raiders anyway TJ Hockinson is in play the Rams tight ends are in play You can make a case for Colby Parkinson You can make a case for Tyler Higby And then you've got guys like Jake Ferguson, Tommy Trouble I just gave you a ton of tight ends. My favorite from the group is Mayor I think that if Baker may feel plays this week and Mecca Buka doesn't I think Kate Otton is pretty interesting. Panthers are 24th against tight ends Otton's had five to six targets in every game Okay, that's good. That's good Yeah. Yeah. He should absolutely make the list. Now we have too many tight ends. What do we do with this? Yeah. So who's the best one? Like for week eight, I mean, mayor, mayor will be my favorite of all I think of the guys you listed. I think so too against the jets. Oh, no, we're doing week nine. No, we can't. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Yeah. I'm, I have my weeks. Well, we set straight up week seven. It's mayor. Yes. Yes. And it's, it's, it's like 70% what the Raiders do and why and how they involve Michael mayor and then 30% well, I think the Rams defense won't be the same defense that they've been. And they're not going to be. Their past rush is going to be very different without Turner and Ford on the field. And then just going forward, but I think Terrence Ferguson is the one with the most upside. If I don't need a tight end right now, I mean, I would pickle Conquo ahead of Ferguson. Okay. Because that's that's rest of season type of appeal. We don't know when Ferguson's going to play. And we don't know when Devata Adams is going to be back. So it's, it's kind of a nitpick. Okay. If we knew that Adams was out for the year and we knew that Ferguson was definitely going to play in week eight, then I might agree with you, but we don't. And so therefore, Conquo gets the nod. Do we have good DST's to add for next week? We have two good DST's to add for next week. And if you've got the Texans DST or the 49ers DST pay attention because you have to replace them. And there aren't a lot of good DSTs. It's Cincinnati. They've got the Titans kind of don't mind the Bengals this week as long as Lamar Jackson sits out, but he's been practicing. So the Bengals defense might not be so good, but they're out there Cincinnati and two thirds of CBS leagues. They've got the Titans in week eight. Titans have a lot at least 10 fantasy points to five of the six DSCs. They've gone out against shout out the U, shout out Camor. Jaguar is DST. Everybody ran away from them after what happened in London. They're a roster in only 50% of leagues. They get the Colts in week number eight. That's a matchup that I think they can turn the ball over a couple of times. Just kind of spitball in there, given what Daniel Jones is all about. If you can't get your hands on them, you're talking about the commanders defense that got Philly, Tanner McKee, and then you've got the Falcons defense, hoping to turn over Baker Mayfield a couple of times. Thank you very much Dave Richard. Thank you very much Miss Lippey. And we will talk to you next time on Fantasy Football Today.
