FFT Express - Beat the Waiver Wire! MUST-STASH Players Before Week 6 | 2026 Fantasy Football (10/15 Fantasy Football Podcast)

Tyler Higby remains a top wide receiver option due to steady targets and PPR points in recent games, though his performance is tied to Matthew Stafford’s pass volume. Quarterbacks like Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, and Trevor Lawrence are highlighted as strong picks due to favorable matchups and weak defenses. Running back depth includes Jeremiah Love, Dylan Samson, and Commandy Vidal, with Vidal showing improved performance and potential upside. Receiver options such as Kendrick Bourne and Cyrus Allen offer value as backups, especially if key players like Rashid Rice or Jalen Hertz are out. Defensive Specialists (DSTs) present value in matchups against weak defenses, particularly the Jets, Panthers, and Jaguars. Risks include instability in running back units (e.g., Cam Scott’s fumbles) and uncertainty around injury status. For managers in need of depth, Al Jair, Keaton Mitchell, and Commandy Vidal are recommended, with Kyler Murray offering elite upside in Week 7 or 8. Overall, the week features a mix of high-upside opportunities and cautionary risks, emphasizing the need for injury awareness and matchup analysis.

Welcome to the show. It's Pete the waiver wire for week seven right now on fantasy football today express. I'm a sir Dave Richard here. Hey happy blue hoodie day Dave. Thanks. Happy Pete the waiver party. Who's the headliner. I don't know if there's a great headliner Adam. I'm going to go with Tyler Higby who's rostered in 52% of CBS Sports leagues you could use him this week against Arizona You can use him next week against Vegas. You might be able to use them against the chargers the commanders and the Cardinals after that Six plus targets and 11 plus PPR points in each of his last three games The only thing you really have to worry about is whether or not it's a byproduct that those numbers are a byproduct of His role in the offense or Matthew Stafford throwing so much and what we've really seen the last two weeks is that it's a slim target Share for Tyler Higby, and so if there is a game where you think Stafford's only going to throw 30 times That's going to be bad for Tyler Higby, but I'm not sure if those games exist because I'm the Rams love what they're doing through the air And I don't see them completely getting away. I don't know about 50 pass attempts But maybe 35 pass attempts against the Arizona's and Raiders's and Washington's of the world Raiders is I don't know why I didn't say the Vegas's but No, I like it is what it is. All right. Well, we might need quarterbacks and we talked about this with the Jalen Hertz injury and Who would you recommend for this week and next week maybe well? Let's just start with this and we probably should have mentioned this at the top Josh Allen's on by next week Trevor Lawrence is on by next week. Jaden Daniels is on by next week So if you heard the name of your starting quarterback You need to pay attention and look to see who you can find I I prefer James Winston for this week, but I would not recommend him next week So if you want to play the the you know mix and match game Yeah, he's got New Orleans this week. I would take the chance on him. He's out there in two thirds of CBS sports leagues If you're a little lazier and you want somebody that you can start this week and next week There's two names for you. There's Aaron Rogers and there's Jacobi Bersett They're out there and at least half for in the case of Rogers of CBS leagues and about a third in the case of Jacobi Bersett I do like Roger's schedule moving forward better because it's Tampa. It's New Orleans. It's Cleveland You know, Bersett's got Denver and week seven and he's got Dallas and week eight if Denver's healthy That's gonna be a bad matchup But that week eight came against Dallas could be really nice other quarterbacks And this is if you're desperate for week seven to Sean Watson Gino Smith and Tanner McKee But the winner is Kyler Murray and we've talked about that schedule Indy Detroit Buffalo each of those three defenses Have allowed 20 or more fancy points to at least three of the five quarterbacks They've played to this point this year So Kyler Murray could be somebody that can help you get through those by weeks if your guy is on by in week seven or week eight What have you or if you're streaming the position you find somebody else this week could be Jamis and then Kyler after that All right, Dave. That's pretty good list of quarterbacks. How about tight? No, not tight end. How about running back with a tight end if you want to man You're calling the shots here. Yeah, it is running back. We'll save tight end James Cook is on by basal tutons on by the Chargers running backs are on by the commanders running backs if you're using them You know, maybe you're doing well once in a while with the Cory Cross come here But they're on by in week seven as well. You could look at Dylan Samson who is on IR as we're recording this But the windows been open he could be available to play in week six certainly could play in week seven You've got to see what's up with Quinshot Judkins You've got to see what's up with Julio McLaughlin, but he's got the Ravens in week six He's got the Titans in week seven at him. I like that matchup against Tennessee and Samson someone who's been with the team Certainly has been used in passing down situations could have that role and maybe a little bit more on top of it in the run game If there's no Quinshot and Judkins if you can't get him it's Tyler L. Jair and how Jair's roster already in 60% of leagues I like the matchup for him against Denver in week seven if you're in a pinch If you're in if you've got problems this week in a pinch is it worth Jeremiah loved in practice on Thursday Just as an example you can turn to Al Jair obviously if there's no Jeremiah love Al Jair being the feature back He would see the majority of the high value touches in Arizona That's not bad, but Damian Pierce is out there in about half of CBS Sports Leagues Keaton Mitchell in week six 55% roster. He can't use him in week seven Ty J Spears Kendray Miller. I didn't say this list was pretty I'm saying if you're in a pinch and you need a running back Who you could put in and expect in the neighborhood of eight PPR points? I would say Pierce is the headliner followed by Mitchell Spears Kendray Miller and then if there's no Jeremiah love Tyler Al Jair would boom jump right to the top That's for week six you're saying because we don't know Barclay might be back in week seven I mean, it's possible that Barclay is back for week seven in that game against Dallas. Yes Yeah, I mean like he hasn't been ruled out for week six, but he hasn't practiced yet Another name that I don't like so much But I just looking at the giant situation and cam scataboo most running backs if they had fumbled four times in their first five games Would probably have lost their job already and the game hasn't been played yet I don't even know what to expect on Sunday, but I expect scataboo to be the main guy But again four fumbles in five games cost them a win in week five So you know just keep an eye on that situation. I would guess not serious, but he's been Too bad that maybe they go Tracy, but I would guess it's Harris. I don't know how much they trust Tracy look at what happened him after one fumble I know right. It's it's crazy By the way, by the way Commandy Vidal's name deserves to be mentioned his film is look good over the last two weeks He's been more effective as a runner than a Mario Hampton and Keaton Mitchell touchdowns in each of his last two games Just not getting a lot of work. I wonder if that flips at some point if it doesn't flip this week It could flip in week eight if all the running backs stink in week six. Yeah, he is one of the guys on a buy and week Right, so you'd have to carry him through the buy or just pick him up the week from now when he's on buy no one else is looking at him We'll be right back to talk about wide receivers and tight ends on express I know one tight end Tyler Higby. I look forward to hearing the rest. What about the wide receivers? There are always some good names out there Parker Washington's on buy and week seven DJ more the other bills receivers Lad McConkey, Terremak Lawrence, the fond digs. There's a lot of receivers that will be missing in week seven Not quite as bad as it is in week six though. Obviously a lot of studs that are missing In this upcoming week and we haven't seen Rashid Rice practice as of Thursday So he might not play in week number six. This list is short and it's not very sweet Kendrick born headlines it 28% roster on CBS So out there and over 70% of leagues. It's got the Rams this week. They're gonna have to throw a lot against LA Denver the week after that. He'll play more inside. He's an in breaking right runner So that's somebody who could pick up in the neighborhood of four or five catches and maybe open up to a couple of plays with some decent yak Don Tavian Wicks would be next up and yeah even with Tanner McKee It's not very pretty. We don't know when Devante Smith is gonna come back We don't know when Jalen Hertz is gonna come back But the rest of the receiver list is gross. It's it's Khalif Raymond hoping that maybe something was sparked in those first two weeks with Caleb Williams And those two pick that up from where they left off and then you've got to look at that situation in Kansas City And it's Cyrus Allen and it's Jalen Royals and I don't think Royals would come into play unless Rashid Rice were out But if Rashid Rice is out Royals has worked in the slot. I think that's a role. He can handle and Cyrus Allen could be more of a downfield threat We've seen some flashes from Cyrus Allen going back to the preseason and there's certainly some opportunity for and Patrick From home talked about it for both of these guys this week saying that they've had the weeks worth of practice They know what is in front of them and what opportunities are in front of them I just don't know if you can really trust them in fantasy But stashing them in case that there's a serious injury for Rashid Rice or that Cyrus Allen Carves out a role for himself in week six Yeah, that's somebody I wouldn't mind having on my bench. So Cyrus Allen is a decent stash as well Yeah, I'd pick up Casey conception You know he might even play this week, but he's 55% rostered. So I know he's not available in every league But I like what I've been seeing from him The nice thing of the targets have been pretty good the nice thing about the chiefs guys they're available in over 90% of league So, you know, you might be saying catered born Don't take me with these guys aren't available in my league Now you know that you can get to to Cyrus Allen and he will he will be out there and pretty much every single league Okay, Dave who else the stash of tide? I'm stealing your gimmick He would be the top guy. Yeah, the other name suck. It's it's AJ Barner. It's Kate Otton It's Mason Taylor. These are stashes for week seven. They have favorable matchups in week number seven But the tight ends that are on by it's Breton Strange, Dalton Concade, Chico Coquo These are not guys that fantasy managers are going to miss that much Okay Yeah, I don't know much to add there uh there is something else to add because you are forgotten. Yes, you I didn't forget that Rusal the more yeah, you were about to wrap. Oh, I was not I was gonna wrap tight end and go right to dst So do it is this you doing yeah, let's go right to dst which stands for Dave's stupid team One of my stupid teams is five and oh baby. Let's go in the fft open I might let's go. Yeah, not bad. All right Jaguars are the only dst that you'll miss that's on by and week number seven the panthers are getting Tanner McKee in week six Then they've got tampon week seven. I don't know who tampon's quarterback is gonna be I don't really care. They've allowed at least 10 fantasy points to three of the five dsts They faced one of them that didn't do it was Dallas. They stink Carolina's defense They're not great, but at least up front they're pretty strong the other dsts that you can sass your the browns They've got the titans titans have allowed at least 11 fantasy points to four of five dsts But wait we can beat that because the jets take on on Miami, every DST to play against Miami this year has had at least 10 fantasy points, and that Jets past rush really got cooking last week. So maybe there's something there that can make the Jets an actual decent start, and they're out there and 60% of CBS sports leagues. All these DSTs are out there, and right around 60% or more in the case of the Panthers, we're talking 80%. - So you're 5 and 0 in the FFT Open, huh? - Yes, in one of them, in my division, yeah. I'm in 3 FFT Open divisions, and I do not have a combined five wins. I had two in three, two in three, and for Mike, Mike and I have an 0 and 5 team that's been Colson Loveland to death, basically. - Do you remember when you asked me on our sports network show how many 0 and 3 or 0 and 4 teams I had, and I babbled on about, yeah, I think I have three. I had none. - No, no winless ones, that's great. - Yeah, good job. - Most of my teams have at least two wins. - All right, good season so far for Dave Richard. - All right, well, it sounds too bad. - Not great, not bad. - It sounds you tomorrow on Fantasy Football today, see ya. - Paramount podcasts. - Sunday, the NFL on CBS is back. - We got ourselves a ball game. - Tensions run high. - When Joe Furto leads the Bengals into Baltimore for an AFC North clash with Derek Henry in the Ravens. - On the go to the end zone, in court, touch time. - Well, some will see the Broncos ride into Arizona to take on the Cardinals out. FAQs

Kendrick Bourne is a top WR pick for week seven, with 28% rostered on CBS Sports and playing against the Rams, who are likely to throw a lot of passes. His role as an in-breaking route runner gives him a chance for 4-5 catches and decent yardage.

Tyler Higby is a solid option with 6+ targets and 11+ PPR points in each of his last three games. However, his target share is slim due to Matthew Stafford's high pass volume, so he may struggle if Stafford throws under 30 passes.

James Williams is recommended for week seven due to his matchup against New Orleans. For a week-seven/week-eight stretch, Aaron Rogers and Jacobi Brett are viable with decent schedules. Kyler Murray is a strong stash due to weak defenses in Indy, Detroit, and Buffalo.

Yes, Tyler L. Jair is available in 60% of leagues and has a strong matchup against Denver. Jeremiah Love is in about half of leagues and could be a reliable option if available, especially in a pinch.

Damian Pierce (in half of leagues), Keaton Mitchell (55% rostered in week six), and Ty Johnson are safe backups. If Jeremiah Love is unavailable, Tyler L. Jair becomes a strong option against Arizona.

Cameron Smith is not recommended due to poor stats and a history of fumbles. His performance has been inconsistent, and he's not a reliable fantasy option this week.
