I'll tell you what, I assume I assume because I know for myself and we do this professionally like I don't watch the Hall of Fame game. I drive, I don't usually watch the Hall of Fame game. The only reason that I really turned it on obviously layers go into the Hall of Fame and Carson Beck was starting. And so I wanted to see it. But the thing is, regardless of whether you care about Carson Beck or the Cardinals or the Panthers who ever, if you watched it, it was a wildly fun game. Like really fun, back and forth, crazy ending. It was like, it was good football. I mean, last second win, final play of the game, like a walkoff. I mean, you don't get that in football very often. No, because this was like, and thank goodness, and of course, but they could have kicked a field goal to tie the end and go to overtime, which would have been like the play you would have done probably in regular season, but you don't need more of the Hall of Fame game. So they just, it's like, what a timeless, that was those really great. It really was football. And Carson Beck was awesome. I mean, it's what I hear for incompletions. Did you not watch it? No, I was not able to watch it. Wow. Well, you missed out, Mike. I was at mandatory parent meetings for football. Yeah. Oh, that's this is like, a lot of you think Mike works here full time. No, no, this is my side game. This is, this is my side hustle is old time job, father is being a dad to a son who's in high school football. Um, the mandatory meeting thing for parents, they make, they, they lay that on thick too. It's like, what are they going to do? Are they going to take your kid and kick them off the team? If you don't show up, it's, it's, where's his father? It's funny to me. And I like, I understand all these things. I, you got to be informed, but it's funny. Oh, the mandatory meeting. And then we have, um, we got a donate to the snack bar this weekend, but it's a mandatory. Oh, yeah. And I'm like, I don't think that word means what you think is a fee. Yeah, there's a mandatory fee. These clubs are out of control. It's not just sports. You know, Mike, we should start something. We really need rich. My, my kids are in a theater where they're in an outreach, an outreach group. They have to pay to join the group. But then if you're in the group that you pay for, you must participate in all these donation events, which is like, wait, we're paying so that we have to pay more. What are we doing? It's wild. But yeah, that that was as humbling weird idea to do that. Yeah, that's because people chew on golf teas, whether they should or shouldn't that happens enough to where there's now a market of me out there. Yeah, I mean, people sell cigarettes. I was like, you shouldn't, but if you do, there were some people that thought I was just lighten up that thought I smoked at the top. I'll have a cigar in my mouth for for my play nine. Quick question of the day comes in from Brandon in Nebraska says in my 12 team people are lead. We do not know the draft order until one hour before draft time. I just want to hear your some mysterious on how I should prepare myself best for this draft. Yeah, we do this for our listener league, which thank you all who have some morbid satisfaction out of it. I do I really love that you can't truly fully prepare that you can prepare. I mean, yeah, people get desperate though. They're like Jason. Come on. Come on. Tell us what I really want to do is like, I want to give them the order so that they prepare and then last second changes so that they prepared wrong. In fact, I'm doing that this year. Can I get a agreement? Wait, what do you want to do? I want to tell you. I know they might not be listening to this episode right now. What are they? If they're in the listener league, they better be listening. Yeah, that's true. They better be listening to all of them. I was saying I should set a draft order now and then completely change it right before the draft. But they'll know if they're listening. That's, you know, it's a it's an advantage. Here's here's the answer to the question because the real trick is through the draft order. And then surprise them like 30 seconds later, but don't tell them on this show. Well, sure, but I've already told them when you have a draft like this coming up mock drafts are incredibly important. That's why we just built a mock draft tool. What you do is you do a handful of drafts from the two, the seven and the 11 assuming it's a 12 person team. All you really need to know is what is it like at the beginning, the middle or the end of drafts, you don't have to know your exact draft spot. You just need to know like when I'm near the back end of the first round, you know, and I'm near the, you know, the one, two and the three, four turn what players, what positions really do I like better or worse in the next time I'm on the clock, the next time I'm on the clock, that's pretty much all you have to do. I think that's how I would like to prepare. Yeah, I mean, I think it's the essence of what we do in our rankings as well. It's the tier based drafting strategy puts you in a position where you are able to react to whatever happens just because you know your draft spot. Okay, maybe you can project your first round situation perfectly or you know kind of where things are falling, you're going to get surprised no matter whether you know it or not throughout the second, third, fourth, fifth round and beyond. We use tiers to define player groupings so that you can make decisions down the line and we did a mock draft show yesterday. There were oftentimes we're looking at the situation saying, look, I, you know, this player is the final one of a group of relevant running backs. I like and there's still five or six wide receivers in that tier. I like so I'm going to move to the running back position. I think tier based drafting is another key to that and I agree with the mock draft analysis as well. Yeah, we have a tips and tricks episode coming up soon. There might be more info on that to come All right, uh, we can move on talk some news News and notes from around the league I mean, it is it is news that Carson back completed 14 of 18 passes two of sure the misses were dropped one was an intentional throw away He was excellent and these weren't just you know dump-offs. This was down the field. This was across the middle It's relevant because we're all sitting here saying you know when is Mendoza going to play when is when is Carson back going to take the field How is this going to impact Bauer's and McBride If I'm the Arizona Cardinals and their xgm even came out last night and said What we're all thinking which is you know you're going to be one of the worst teams in the league the Cardinals are favored in zero games So okay, maybe you maybe you outkicked your coverage a little bit and you win five You win shit because of what they're projected for three and a half is it three I thought it was four and a half It might be four and a half. Ooh I mean, I mean this is whoa whoa whoa buddy. Oh, it is three and a half the point is this is your goal this season And this is where you've got a rookie head coach you want to win games everybody wants to win games You want to show your team that you're playing the best players I get it But your true agenda this year will be at some point to understand if you have anything in Carson back Who was the third quarterback drafted in the NFL draft You will want to know if you need to use a high pick on a quarterback or not which means Look, we'll see what the rest of the preseason looks like it's one game. Yeah, because I just don't think the touchdown told us are going to be anywhere near what Jacobi reset was able to do And we just talked about McBride one of the the keys to his dominance was 11 touchdowns double digit touchdowns with a rookie I find to be somewhat unrealistic Bauer still is going to have his challenges at some point in time but at least it's the number one overall pick. Jaden Higgins has been getting a lot of positive buzz in camp So that's it's a name to pay attention to with Chris. You're too wide receiver for the Texans. Um, I did watch this We're talking about Alec Pierce and the return from left ankle surgery I've watched like it's being reported that Shane's like and says there's no timetable I watched the press conference. It was this is getting blown out of proportion in my opinion Because all they did was say is there any update to the timetable and he said no no update He's doing great. He's working out He's doing a hell of a job in his rehab process and you wouldn't even believe he said he's excited So then this is great reporting for you Andy because you you're in on Alec Pierce this year I mean, this is not great. I'd rather have him give a timetable that says tomorrow. I'm saying great Because this will push his 80p down people will be more and more afraid and if you're watching past the headline Yeah, and you see that it's it's really no different than what we already knew was that's how I'm interpreting it And now I don't I don't like that. I mean, it's just a weird situation when you have and we've had this before I mean godwin godwin is a perfect example of this Godwin had a major injury then signed a major contract extension. They'd had to come back from injury Alec Pierce just to be under wasn't that good just so you understand he was paid like 86 million guaranteed He's 27 28 million a year as a wide receiver That is and then they said goodbye Michael pitman So that's their level of belief now they can't control outcomes of rehabbing and surgery and things like that or setbacks if those happen All this to say it's August 7th we are a month we're more than a month away from the kickoff of the NFL season And even further from the Sunday in which the cults play I'm not going to panic today But if in if in three weeks from now Alec Pierce has not been Running around at at training camp. I will then be worried But I'm giving it a three week timer right now because he's the bona fide guaranteed number one of this wide receiver room Now don't you think that if he gets back for the first time in three weeks that he will be starting slow I don't know. I don't know if he'll be starting slow because you're still gonna have almost two weeks to get Back into shape. We'll see. I mean you won't make you don't go two weeks Okay, I do I do. I think he needs at least a two week ramp up Yeah, yeah, that's fine. Uh, Jaylen Waddle a strain will return him four to five days. He's fine He's used to this every game with a limp. That is that is the water walk. I mean that is what he does How do they not say he was walking with a waddle Yeah, they said walking with a limp. They didn't say he was waddling around which he was wouldn't you be waddling with a limp? Isn't at the very least. Yeah, that's fine. That's he's waddling with a waddle Um, Romeo dobs did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. I think it's not serious. Yeah, that doesn't sound serious. The Patriots wide receiver room is Fascinating if you've been following what's going on with the training camp because the off season was was K. Sean booty Who was a very solid player for them deep threat last year He felt like the odd man out like he was Well, I mean, he didn't just feel like it. He requested a trade. Yeah, he was he's asking for and now he was not showing up to some some voluntary stuff and the talks of a trade But all the reporting is like K. Sean booty is One of the best wide receivers for the Patriots this entire training camp process And so it's like who who is actually going to be playing for this because you're It the Mario Douglas is going to get a lot of snaps because digs with shorter targets and that's the question in playing because you have A.J. Brown's a lock Romeo dobs Would be insane if you gave him that amount of money and then he's not your two So then it's the three well then But should you put are you putting dobs in the slot then and putting booty on the outside where because you have Douglas who is a great slot Well booties requested a trade right and because he feels like he doesn't have a real opportunity a lot of people have assumed He would be traded. I'm surprised he's still a patriot. Maybe they're waiting for for a higher price But there's there's some teams out there that could You telling me the chiefs aren't better with booty sure But yeah, well, we're all better with booties. Yeah, K. Sean But hey, yeah, I mean, do Mario Douglas. I mean, he only played I mean pop Douglas played like 27% of snaps last year. This is and his reports in the preseason have been great But he's limited player mysterious. What's going on up there? And you've got macaws. Don't forget about yes The barefoot merchant dude macaws rules. All right. We'll we'll take a break here And we're going to jump into wide receiver rankings. This should be fun. We've got a couple shows for wide receivers countdown 20 through 11 You Why receivers? It should be said in the in the context of the Alec Pierce news with a team that's lost Michael Pittman. You know, Jason's already talked a lot about Tyler Warren, but if Alec Pierce is limited, if it takes him time to get going, it's all the more reason to spend an early pick on Josh Downs and give him a shot because somebody has to catch the ball there. He's going to get more opportunities, whether he's going to be good enough on the outside is TBD, but he he's still going to be on the field and behind him, it's Ashton Dulin, which has been the case for a while, which, you know, that's part of the reason I'm not sure about Downs being great on the outside. It's like why weren't you taking snaps from him before, but you had Pittman in the slot. So yeah, wide receiver rankings count down. Let's do it. Here's some numbers for you. What makes a wide receiver two? We're looking at twenty through eleven today. Over the last decade among a 110 wide receivers finishing in this range, 84% of them average seven or more targets per game. That's what I mean, seven or more is big number. 77% had a thousand or more receiving yards and 75% had six or more receiving touchdowns. And when did we switch to 17 games, by the way, I can we officially remember that day? No, we cannot officially remember that day. No one. But in a 17 game season, seven targets a game would be 119 targets. 2021. Okay, so we've had a half a decade. This is I just think it's funny when you're like 77% of had a thousand or more receiving yards, but you got an extra game for half of them. So an extra opportunity to do it. Those thresholds, nobody's adjusted properly. Yeah, but number is the 18. Are you just going to keep saying that he's a thousand yard receiver? Sure. We haven't done that. But also production has been down. We've talked about that globally. T Higgins comes in at number 20 guys. That feels like a real floor situation for T Higgins. And we all have them right there. I think just because we like the upside of a lot of other players, I mean, a classic situation, Jason, you and I have them higher than Mike. Yeah. Look, we we love T Higgins here. What do you and I do? Yeah. It's being drafted as the wide receiver 14. That's fine. So you release all below release. For why are we all below ADP? I think the reason we're below ADP is because where T Higgins scores his fantasy points in in recent memory is touchdowns. Like he was on pace for 12 and a half touchdowns. And he can absolutely 100% replicate that. But we can't project him right for 12 and a half touchdowns. So like I have them projected for nine touchdowns, which I have them at 8.2. Yeah. And so when you do that, when you project kind of a good median outcome, it's going to it's going to hurt him. Whenever there's a guy who is really touchdown heavy on where the fantasy points come from, they'll usually be a little lower in like linear rankings. 21 receiving touchdowns over the last two years. Yeah. Only Chase. I'm going to run out himself more than that. Wow. It's just touchdowns aren't a sticky stat. I mean, but they are for a few, a few people. You always have an injury concern with T Higgins. No question. It's been a problem. Anytime a player has a narrative that involves him running up a hill at practice, you know, injuries have been part of this story. Yeah. I mean, this is also when I look actual information. Yeah. When I look at last year, I'm like, thank goodness, we finally got a full season out of T Higgins. He still missed two games. It was injured, but it feels great. That's a full season. 15 games are full season for T Higgins. If you tell me T Higgins gets a thousand yards, I'll be like, wow. Yeah, because per game is 12 games, he got a thousand. They, I mean, they're in some of the highest over under games of the season. I mean, the, the bangles average, I think line is like 49. Yes. So again, this, this comes down to, there's two factors for T Higgins. One is that is quarterbacks healthy. And that's not always been the case. And the other is that Higgins is healthy. If both of those are true, the way they pass the football, I mean, T Higgins is, is really, this is the floor for him. This is the floor, as far as our ranking of 20, he's being drafted a wide receiver 14. I don't have any problem with that. Take your shots on T Higgins because he can finish as high as the wide receiver six. I was going to say like 10. I think you can easily be top 10. I mean, you also have the built-in obvious view of that. If the injury happens to Jamar Chase, what's his highest fantasy finish ever? I'm just curious. I don't know. No, no, I believe it's 17. Okay. So yeah, that's where I six seems a little, yeah, I mean, that that is under the, that's like if Jamar Chase gets injured and he ends up with 12 touchdowns in 2024, he was 15 and a half points per game. Right. 15 and a half points for game would be probably higher than well in 12 games. So that was good enough for the wide receiver 19 saying if you get it, if you're at 15 and a half and you play 15 games, also knows that we're calling it the full season for T Higgins, you're going to, you're going to be a top 10 guy. This is year seven for T Higgins. Yeah, 15 and a half would have been wide receiver five last year. George Pickens for context was 14.4 last year, but it's kind of kind of chicken egg though, right? Cause if you don't play enough games, you also don't have as many games that you can have a down game or anything like that. Yeah, for sure. The thing is, is this year and every year you want to target certain teams. I want to target cowboys, the bangles and the lions. I want, I want as many pieces from those teams as I can get in the Rams. Yeah, the Rams too. That's, that's fine. There's those don't feel like debatable picks you're saying or well, yeah, I mean, the Rams were the top scoring team in the league last year. For sure, my issue with the Rams is simply that, that you've got the question at the running back position on most people. Well, there is a question. There's a question. I have the answer, but there's a question. But the age of Devonte Adams and whether or not he's still got to end, assuming Aaron Donald is back. I think that defense, I don't doubt their offense. Oh man, I don't doubt their offense. I think they'll be the top scoring offense again. I do not. I don't think because that's why I put the lions, the bangles and the cowboys in another tier is because of their defense. They're often, all of those offenses are outrageously good. But when, when one team breaks fantasy, it's usually coinciding with, I got to score 35 points a game. Okay. Tat Mcmillan comes in at 19, 23 years old. Mike is the highest on Tat Mcmillan. I have no idea what happened here. I, I just like, well, what one, the reason that you don't know what happened is because at one point months ago, I was very, very high on Tatarou Mcmillan. It would, it, he was in my top 10 months ago. It was, I was the one who was kind of scared of Mcmillan and the two of you guys felt real strong. You made great arguments, Mike. I, apparently, you overcorrected. I have the correct ranking at 15. Oh, I went too far. Yeah. Yeah. I should have gone with the correct ranking. But I don't know why you do that. Tatarou is awesome. He's a great player. If he were in a different situation, he could finish as, you know, a top five wide receiver without question. The question is, can Bryce Young do enough to allow Tatarou to be a wide receiver one? I still believe he can, especially with some of the injuries around that team right now, the other positions are going down, Jadavian Sanders has gone, gone down. Someone else just went down to an injury. Well, they're, they're rookie. The second round rookie will not be playing this year. Yes. That's, that's what it was. And so I, I liked that a lot. I just think his ceiling is a little bit hamstrung by Bryce Young. I mean, you look at last year and there's some things that were true about Tatarou and Mcmillan. He's the offensive player of the year as a rookie, right? Offensive rookie of the year. He had over a thousand yards and he had seven touchdowns. If we like that thousand yard number. So you had a season where he was, he scored seven times and at over a thousand yards, he finishes at wide receiver 17 and more importantly for your fantasy team. He only had two weeks where he was inside the top 12 of the position. And one of them was 12 on the dot. So you look at that situation and you say, you know, I think the T Higgins V. Tat Mcmillan is an incredible decision because on one hand, you have the clear bona fide guarantee number one of a team. And the other, you have a obviously number two of the offense, but a huge difference at total yardage output. I like Carolina to, you know, I think Bryce Young can take a step forward. I've made that argument before. I, but I think that Jason's right. I think the ceiling, the, it will be a tiny step. And mind you, man, when he was on the sideline last night without, yeah, no pads. He looked at the pads that was the water boy. He just, because he's a small guy. He's, he's, he's not a small. He's a Kyler. The upside case for him is Drake London. They're, they're similar players, similar situations where the target market share should be enormous and they don't have good quarterbacks. You're not expecting a great offense. That being said, I, I think, can you get to 1200 and 10? No. I mean, it doesn't seem like a far cry from last year. That would put him in that contention. Yeah, I think he could, but that would, that would be more touchdowns. The turn 50 more yards. 10 touch. Anyway, the, the, it's Bryce Young, who in his career, we're going into year four. So as a rookie, just under 29, 2900 passing yards at five and a half yards per attempt. The next year, 2400 at 6.3. This past year, his best season just barely passes 3000 yards at 6.3 yards per attempt and 23 passing touchdowns. McMillan last year was 25% of the targets. He has to jump to 30 plus. Yeah, he needs to be at 30. If you're getting 25% again of Bryce Young, like a big jump for Bryce Young, with the numbers that he's put up so far, it would be 3500 yards, which is like that's not a, that's potentially 1500 fewer than burrow with T Hick. Right. But if Bryce Young gets to 3500 and Macmillan makes a jump to 30%, which is not impossible based on the talent of the player, then you'll be happy. It's just a, a big step has to happen for both players. He's a great player, but he may be stuck a little bit. Yeah. And Bryce Young, 34th and average depth of target, 34th. And in seven games, Tet was three or fewer receptions. So if you combine that kind of an output at low depth of target, that would be scary. Yeah. Xavier LaGette was the other guy I was thinking that, that went down to injury. So I agree. You need to get to 30%. We all love the talent of Tet. It's just a question of, would you rather have the second wide receiver for the Cowboys, for the Bangles, for great offenses that you know, there's just going to be so much points being scored, or would you rather have the number one for an inferior offense? I, I mean, the, the great offense side. Like last year, T Higgins got, you know, the, what we, the his final numbers, 59 for 846 and 11, with a 19% target share. Yeah. Yeah. And then Macmillan's at 25 barely passing a thousand. So, hey, room for T Higgins to be even more involved is, is certainly there. Devante Smith comes in at number 18. I got him a 19 Jason at 16, Mike 18. So we're all right around the same range, being drafted, being drafted wide receiver 17 in the fourth round. It's going to keep going up. Is it? Yeah. If you look at, if you look where money is, if you look at the big money leagues, if you look at, I, I assume, uh, underdog and bestball as well, Kyle looked that up, but I know like the big money leagues. He's usually, he's going as a top 12 wider. Yeah. He's usually around wide receiver 12 or 13 and, and, and we've seen it. Obviously, he's finished as a wide receiver 7 before. We've talked a lot about, oh, I was wrong. Wide receiver 13. Well, okay. Wide receiver. Well, that's on underdog. Yeah. Um, so I do think he gets drafted a little higher. This feels, I was surprised that my ranking, my actual statistical ranking is 16. Where did, where did you, you said he finished at seven? I see him at 10. Oh, is that, sorry. Yeah. I mean, he finishes wide receiver 10 in 2022. I mean, he, he feels like an obvious easy pick and a very, this again, feels like a floor pick in terms of like the worst he's going to finish. I would say if McIle lemon wasn't dealing with hamstring injuries again. Maybe McIle lemon excitement heading towards the season could keep his ADP in place. I, I think that the, the trouble is, is that in this top 20 range, there are a lot of names that are kind of exciting. And we've been around the block with the Vante Smith a little bit. There's pessimism around the offense. I'm just trying to think of narratives that could keep him lower. But to me, it seems like one of those things where you, you might, if you pass on him here, or you pass on him even a little bit higher, you may just really, really regret it, because it might be really obvious about six weeks into the year that this guy is a bona fide wide receiver one in favor. I think it is worth, and they're favorite in the four of their first six. Yeah, I think it's worth saying Devantes Smith, because he's, he has been a wide receiver two in the NFL for his own team, but Devantesmith is fully 100% without question in my mind, capable of being an alpha wide receiver one for an NFL team. He is an elite wide receiver. He came in as one of the best prospects ever if he was just, if you wait a few more pounds, you know, he was a little too light coming into the NFL, but when he came in, he was one of the best prospects statistically, he just was a hundred and seventy pounds. You don't, that doesn't usually work, but he is so good as an actual wide receiver that he's overcome that. And I don't think that there's any fear there personally with whether he can step from the wide receiver two role to the wide receiver one. Eagles have done a really good job of just taking people, other teams have talked themselves out of for dumb reasons, with Jalen Carter, now he's paid defensive player and football or whatever. And and Devantesmith, they just get the Heisman winner, you know, I mean, they took him with the 10th pick overall, if you, it's been been a minute, but yeah, and the smaller, the smaller wide receiver archetype has been working more and more, speaking of which, number 17, Zay flowers, Zay flowers at seventeen, what is happening? I knew you're going, what is happening? I was really hoping you didn't see that. Stop copying me. Oh man. What is that? I didn't know I was hate. I'm out of here, dude. I hate Zay flowers. Why do you hate Zay flowers? You're the lowest of amongst us. You, you have him as wide receiver twenty. Ouch. We've got him higher than that. What are you doing here? Mike? I thought you, I thought you were a fan. I thought he thought Zay was like a good player. You guys saw what happened last year for my rankings and you're like, I need, I need you know, Mike's advice. This year's wide receiver seven, I'm just throwing numbers in. Got that bag. I don't even care if I believe him. 104 guaranteed Zay flowers comes in at seventeen. Have you guys been reading about like Lamar's relationship with Harbaugh and Monkin and stuff like that? It's very wide. There we go. Wide receiver 14. Okay. Well, that happened quick. I gave him a touchdown. Okay. It was a, which is a big deal for him. He's not really known for getting those. I'm not out of control. I have him at a projection of six points. Well, he's only had fourteen over the last three years and you've heard my, my bear case on Zay flowers before there are, there are lots of games and this is kind of a Baltimore thing. Yeah. You put that bear to hibernation. There are a lot of games where where they've not needed him. I mean, this has been part of the, the career of Zay flowers. For whatever reason, there are games that Zay flowers looks dominant and for, and then there are games where I mean, you had games last year, two for thirteen. Okay. That's the wide receiver 89, two for six on ninety five percent of snaps. Like, so there's some elements to the, the game for Zay flowers where he's just at times disappeared over the years. Same thing happened the year before and it was really frustrating because you basically ping pong between disappearing acts, three points, one point, fifteen, seventeen, three points, fifteen, twenty seven, five points. It's not been as consistent for Zay flowers as other players. But last year it was a step up in his points per game. He played all seventeen games. He's been very healthy, something you can't say about T Higgins. I do have my questions about, I feel like Lamar, the Lamar situation is basically does he gel with the head coach and the offensive coordinator and it seems like it's been hard for certain people to connect with him and get him motivated. The reports right now are that he is, but that was lost at times with Harball. Yeah. This was the undersized wide receiver that I remembered finished as wide receiver seven, which was last year. Flowers. One of the stickiest, most predictive stats at wide receiver for future success is simply target share. Yep. That actually sticks around and has a high correlation with being good the following season. His target share in his career has gone up each of his three seasons, started at a very healthy twenty four, then twenty five last year, twenty nine percent. What about the hundred and four million dollars they gave in this off season? What does that say to his target share? It's amazing. If Zay flowers was a guy who was used around the red zone and was a touchdown threat, this would be a guy easily in the second round of fantasy drafts because you know he's on a good offense, he's the clear cut one with a high enough target share. The touchdowns are really, really holding them back. Now you don't project, I mean Mike does Mike projects, you know, six point seven touchdowns might be a record. You don't that would be his record. I'm sure without looking that up on positive that would be his record. You don't project him to have a ton of touchdowns and I think could he have an outlier season sure, but that would be low odds. However, this is an archetype that is usually a really good fantasy football. Odds bet bet on a guy whose target volume is great on a great offense and touchdowns. It's only gone up touchdowns. They bounce around you they they they have if if he ends up with seven touchdowns next year, he'll be probably a wide receiver one and he's not being he's being drafted pretty late. So I I like taking a shot on Zay. Zay flowers number one that the talent, he's awesome if this is a new offense. So I don't know what the I think that that's what provides some excitement of he like we can look back historically over the first three years five four and five touchdowns. This is different, you know, it there is a there is an opportunity. There's a chance that Zay flowers scores more touchdown and this is like not when Jacobi Lane's taken this is a a a of a stretch, but it's just to prove my point. Remember when Tremac bride couldn't catch touchdowns. Yep. Three touchdowns and saw more year two touchdowns the year after that 11. I'm not saying 11 touchdowns are coming for Zay flowers, but it's when when when a variable changes, which one changed for Tremac bride last year, the Jacobi came in. This is a different offense for Lamar and I he does a little yeah, but he plays, he plays big. All right. Daniel Waddle comes in at 16. We've talked extensively about Waddle recently. He was on the Monday episode. He was Mike's fire pick. It is, you know, it's hard for me to be. be fully bought in on Jaylen Waddle as much as I'd like to be simply because it's been a struggle fantasy wise over the last three seasons for Jaylen Waddle. I don't think on a per play basis when you're watching him, you're like, oh, that guy doesn't have the same, you know, juice, the same wiggle, but the fantasy production is, is been slowed and it's not like we didn't have confidence in his offensive coordinator the last three years. So part of it's been slowed by his injury situation, which is daily. Yeah. I was going to say it's not a great thing that when we bring them up on the show, he's already hurt. It's not a great thing that the only way that you give good numbers for Jaylen Waddle is to be like, when he was healthy and when to always healthy and when this happens and that happens, everything goes right. Things are good. But I am excited. That's not everything. Go just health. I don't know. I mean, even when he was, yeah, but yeah, yeah, okay. I mean, the points per game is first and second season were his best and we're three more years removed from it. So it's a little bit of caution, but look, we got him at 16 for a reason. Mike's got him lowest. Yeah. Mike does have him lowest. What is happening? I don't know, man. This you know you. Who do I have right? Ty. I know you should talk to you. Sound like the head coach. It's like, I've got to get the ball. Am I running back more? And you always yell at them like, you know you are the one that we're all trying to figure out who did this. I am. He's better than these guys that me and you obviously like, yeah, wait till the next step. So the top 10 is going to be wild. He's going to be crazy. Jack Bash. No. No, but look, why don't we we talked a lot about him on Monday. You know the story on Waddle, but we got him at 16. We'll take a break and we'll come back with the the next five names. No one's in my top 20. There's just no one there. I start at 14. A mecca. Buka is at 15 and unsurprisingly. Mike is the law. It's not mecca. That one I stand by. I've got him at 11. So that's where I am. I'm definitely bullish. Yeah. I mean, on the Monday episode, it was a Buka as the fire pick. So Mike's fire pick, Janel Waddle, my fire pick, a mecca, Buka. I just think this offense is going to run through him. He's playing the Z position. I love Baker. I love the line situation. And I don't, you know, I just don't see anybody that's going to take away his target share. There's, there's a bunch of Encelerary players that are, they're talented. Godwin at this juncture of his career, talented possession receiver, McMillan, you know, Tess Johnson, Ted Hurst, are all, they're all talented. But it's going to be a Buka offense. You have no one ranked in your top 50. So I love a Buka. I made the case on Monday. So maybe, maybe Jason, where are you at because you're kind of between our rankings? I am a believer in the talent. He was a my guy going into last year, the, the departure of Mike Evans in the off season versus an injury in season allows them to put a Buka where he's going to succeed. The offensive line injuries, although I did see Tristan Worf's was injured right now, which is like, that's a, that is a really big deal for this offense. This is a great player. I think the offense should be good. The injuries to him and Baker last year, you know, you had a tale of two halves and which half is the truth. I think both had some truth, the, the, the, but he's good. So I, I mean, I've got him right in the middle at wide receiver 15. I think that's right. Where he'll finish as a high end wide receiver to the questions just going to be draft price. Are you paying that or not currently? It looks like he's being drafted as wide as you for 19. So I'm, I'm in. I'm taking the shot. Yeah. The, I don't have a problem with it like the upside is tremendous. I do think Godwin has more left in the tank. I, uh, you're speaking of ranks. I have Godwin ranked much higher than you guys. He's not a top 20 type of player, but I'm just, I'm not 100% sure that it's like the Buka takeover is what the outcome of this year is for the books. At number 14, it is the tried and true Garrett Wilson points for game in his career 10. 2 9.7 11.8 11.6 kind of always just, he just always is there when the team has the capability of getting him the football. He's been a target share machine averaging 28%. You know, what could go wrong for Garrett Wilson? Well, so wrong. I mean, he's 26 years old at this point. Gino Smith is, is throwing him the football and for it, it is difficult to remember Garrett Wilson was dominating for fantasy football last year. It was before he was injured. He was the wide receiver five. It was a little like there was some, some garbage time stinking us built into it, but it was just, this is a reminder of, of how good he can be. And it wasn't like, he was, he ran hot with, with touchdowns, but he was also, uh, you know, in his, so he was pretty much healthy for five weeks. But in those weeks, he was averaging over 76 receiving yards per game, almost 10 targets in that time. So he just, he is a truly elite player. Geno, he's four double digit touchdowns in New York. Mike, can he, um, no, four, three, seven, four, obviously missed a bunch. Geno's not here. That's a big question for top 10 potential. I think he can get to 10, he is, he's good around the goal line. And if, I mean, it's not, it's not impossible that he gets 10, but it's not probably on touchdowns in four years. Yeah. That's. But the nice thing is the team environment is, is significantly different. I want to remind people last year, this version, last year's version of the jets through as a team for 2,385 yards, which is unimaginably bad. They've made significant improvements to the offensive line. They got a passing quarterback instead of a mobile quarterback in for this season. And, you know, Garret Wilson is healthy. I am for, for where you're being, where he's being drafted. I'm all in. I think there's a guy who's guaranteed at least 140 targets, but he could end up with 170 targets. Yeah. I'm always on him. Yeah. This is incredible. How can he be the lowest on all the parts? I don't know. I don't know. I'm looking at the full rankings, whereas the three of us, all right. We find out. I want to find out that Kyle's just goofing. No, I mean, look, we finally have someone he's higher on. I'm the lowest on this guy. Number 13. Rashi Rice. Mike. I'm in the middle. Oh, yeah, he has him at 13, Jason at 11. I'm at 16. I am. We talked about this briefly. I think yesterday. I am cooling a little bit on Rashi rice. I don't think he's a guaranteed wide receiver one. I do think he's a pretty guaranteed wide receiver to, but this is one of the offenses. We talked about this. The giant scored seven more touchdowns in this team last year. And there were a lot of third down saves with Patrick Mahomes running the football. Now, I've seen design runs and camp already from Patrick Mahomes. He has seven months removed from that injury and looks fine. But at the same time, you do need to manage that. It's different when the people are actually hitting you when you can take a shot to the knee. Yeah. I mean, so I've got him the highest at 11. Obviously, on a points per game basis, he's way better than that in his career. Through three years in NFL, he's been targeted on 30% of his routes. So only Puka and Malik neighbors are higher than that. This is like the first read, the design play, the get the ball in the hands, yards after catch guy who has always been good. I did move him down recently to 11. He was, he was higher than that solely, solely because of, I'm, I'm a little worried with the ramp up from the knee injury. Some of the videos look like he's not, he doesn't have that burst back yet, but we've got another month. And it was hard, you know, it's hard to rehab and jail. So I imagine having been there. You said that like a man knows what he's talking about. Yeah. I apologize for full clarity. I have not yet been to jail. What about rehab then, jail? I, I promise, should I go to jail? I will not rehab. What about that is like a cool like gym idea, like it's like the prison, jail. Oh, it's the prison. It's like a prison yard. Yeah, the prison yard is the name of it. Yeah. And like you got to like, a lot of times people come out of prison jacked, right? So maybe that's a good question. So that's just in a parking lot. Right. He's been a dominator. Even though it is a product of a system, you know, he's not just your, your, your prototypical great Justin Jefferson, what an amazing wide receiver. Yeah. I mean, it's been great for fantasy. Yeah. is like, I know Cyrus. Alan is getting like a week and a half of pub as a rookie. Yeah, but the thing about the chiefs is that the reason that they can stick a little bit is you look at the receiver room and you're like, put these guys in order. Like Rashi's obviously at the top, then you're taught, is it Thornton? Right. Or there's room for a player like Cyrus Allen to come in and have an impact if you're tied into 37 and you're starting wide receiver is coming out of jail slash injury. There is room. And so if Rashi is healthy, there should be target share. They really are going in on my homes. Like they, like all the, all the improvements of the team were just, we're like, we're going to make our defense the best our defense can possibly be like, well, what about an offensive weapon? Candace Walker, baby. Yeah, I'm like, I'm sure I'm higher than you on him. I mean, that's why no, that is not. Oh, we're checking that we're checking that there is no weight. Pretty sure I have them at two. No, I'm just, you win, you win, I got him an eight, Mike, where do you have him? You got to have six. Okay, we did it. Malik neighbors at 12, I'll eat my hat, but then I got worried about eating my hat. Right. You might have had to Malik neighbors, Mike, you're the highest on Malik. Yeah, yeah, there we go. I am not as convinced as the man coming up with destroyed me. I feel like we spent months and months and months talking about how it might be a slow start for Malik neighbors. And then you guys saw like one or out and both jacked him up your rankings. I am slower to come around on Malik neighbors, because I think, you know, these rankings are based on total season stats. The reports out of giants camp is the offense is not look good. We did get a report this morning, maybe worth mentioning Malik. I fields maybe in play for the wide receiver to spot, but, you know, this is, this is going to be an offense where Jackson Dart is going to have to adjust to being under center more. I don't know if it's going to play those strengths as much, but I'm also the lowest. I think on Jackson Dart of the three of us. So we all know the potential of Malik neighbors is Jamar chase levels. So you guys might think 11 and 12 is tempering your expectations. It is, it very much is I think he gets off to a slow start statistically. Thankfully, the matchups in the beginning of the year, three of his first four weeks is Dallas, Tennessee and Arizona. So, you know, you might be able to just find a broken piece of coverage and house something while you're while you're trying to get to your true explosive self, uh, but yeah, I mean, this is a guy where I think if he wasn't coming off of an ACL, he'd be top five. You'd be picking him at the top five of his first round wide receiver. Yeah. So just a couple of guys that like Matt Nagy over here need that is my. So I love Kyle saying the even the beat reporters are poo pooing. Matt naggy, the giant's off and I wonder why he sucks. I, I want to be so in on Jackson Dart. I want to like like brother, you are moving Matt naggy is the reason left Kingsbury. Oh, dude, Matt naggy is, he is not good at his very high paying job. Well, don't worry. This is a, is a tough division to play in. Um, I know that they're the surprise team everybody wants to believe in. I just think I want my eyeballs to see it a little bit. And I, there's so many great wide receivers to take. Sure. Like the reason Jason Trader from League neighbors and League of record wasn't for this year. Now, maybe he gets this year. But I think we're, there are a couple teams that I think are a year out. I'm, I'm in that camp with the Saints. You guys are all in this year. I think I'm a year away from that. I'm a year away from the giants being that team. Yeah, because they'll have a new OC. I think they will have a new, which means that they will struggle this year. If, if, if the thing for neighbors that I'm okay with is the price is right now on sleeper, he's going in the beginning of the fourth. We did our mock draft, it's just not a true thing. Well, we did our mock draft yesterday and I got him halfway through the third. And it's, if you, if you know that Malik neighbors is a target, you know, I, I started running back, running back. So I knew that that was taken care of. And then I can take Malik neighbors and I can have enough guys at the wider receiver position to overcome and, and let it happen. Let it, you know, maybe you don't even play Malik neighbors week one. That sounds crazy for a third or fourth round pick. But I think that over the course of the second half of the year, if you can tread the water, then, then things become great. Like most people are like, you know what I'm going to do with Malik? I'm going to let someone else draft him. And then when they're really struggling, I'm going to go trade for neighbors. They're, I'm sure there's plenty of leagues that will work in. But I think there's also plenty of leagues that you'll get Malik. And then by the end of the year, you have a first round talents, a fantasy football pick that really takes your team to the next level. Crystal Lava at 11, the last name we're going to talk about today, guys. God paid this off season. Jordan Tyson Tyler Schuck, Travis H and junior. John Johnson and company, Kellen Moore trying to get this offence on track after a disappointing year that saw a mix of Spencer Rattler and Tyler Schuck on the back half of it. But throughout the entirety of the year, Crystal Lava was a monster. And, and talk about, you know, the flowers touchdowns. Here's touchdowns for Crystal Lava, four, five, one. Yeah, but you don't have a Lamar throwing it to him for those. But I'm saying you like touchdowns like, but very, I said, the thing with, with with Lamar is the variable was the offense change. And brick bride was the quarterback changed it. Eight one change comes in and you're like, Oh, that player is a thousand yard receiver. He should have more touchdowns. And Crystal Lava got him last year. Well, let me ask you this real quick, because we talked about these guys, same draft class, same age. Lava Garrett Wilson and dynasty, where are you with that question? I, who, man, that's really tough. I think I'm on the Garrett Wilson side solely and only again is the concussion thing. I, I, all the way on the Lava side now, I think Lava is a better player. I think the quarterback is a better player. It's again, it is just the concussion worry for me. As someone who's had him on my roster and felt at times like, you had concussions. Oh, for sure. Yeah, for sure in my past, but falling off of the swing set. That's that's pretty that's 11 11 and a half fantasy points But once he got shook and keep in mind this was rookie shook who started slow the course of all of the starts was Shuck he would have had a 17-game pace of 102 receptions 1400 yards and 12.8 touchdowns 15.8 fantasy points. That's that's easily top five fantasy wide receiver and half point So that it's exciting to get That quarterback in tow, which is why Andy I don't blame you for saying you're Significantly on the ol' obvious side in the dynasty. I don't think he's gonna you know The target share is gonna be different this year. Yeah. Got to remember last year. It was super juiced at the end Well, it was they traded Rashid Shaheed their their their only other target halfway through the day you valet And well, but then like I said they like that hurt like valet was actually Becoming a thing there so adding Jordan Tyson, you know, what your hope for is that he stays efficient Scoring touchdowns the target share stays high, but you are going to need to spread the rock a little bit and can Shuck be you know You got to figure out if Shuck is in the 3500 or the 4500 yard. Yeah category because that makes a huge difference on supporting two wide receivers burrow can do it because You know, this is what you just brought up with with with Caleb Williams It's like if Caleb Williams you just said if he throws for under four thousand you're gonna have a problem with the Odunze burden leveling combination I am more confident that Shuck has more passing yards than Caleb this year like that as are the books Yeah, I mean the books projected that way in in Vegas and it makes sense with the defense the pace of play the Running game for for both teams. I think that the passing volume will be larger last year the the the usage splits the Target percentages were the same 30% the first eight weeks 30% the last I was gonna ask does Olave with the addition of a top 10 NFL drafted wide receiver does Olave stay at 30% no he did he does not there's no way He's gonna with with Jordan Tyson on the field. I can't put him at a 30% target share I have him at a 24 and a half percent target share this year major dip It is a major dip, but that's still 140 targets.
