Fantasy Football - Week 5 Matchups + Cowboy Collapse, Wheel of Shame - Podcast for 10/9

The episode dives into a chaotic yet insightful analysis of the NFL’s injury landscape and fantasy football implications. George Pickens delivered a big game for the Cowboys, overcoming CDLAM’s absence and injury, while Bucky Irving shone with explosive performance, including a 72-yard run, highlighting the Cowboys’ offensive vulnerabilities. The Dallas defense was exposed, allowing multiple scoring drives, and the offensive struggles were amplified by Dak Prescott’s poor accuracy and the team’s inability to sustain drives. Injury reports across the league are criticized for inconsistencies, with numerous conflicting reports—especially around players like Ramandre Stephenson, T Higgins, and Mike Washington—leading to confusion and reactive fantasy decisions. The show emphasizes the need for official, verified injury updates, especially as fantasy football demands quick, accurate responses. Key players like Mike Washington and Marvin Harris emerge as high-impact, high-risk options due to injuries and usage changes. The fantasy forecast highlights strategic matchups, such as the Chargers’ game with Denver and the 49ers’ battle with the Seahawks, where defense and offense both play critical roles. The hosts also debate defensive matchups, generally favoring strong offensive matchups over weak defenses, with the exception of matchups where a team’s defense is otherwise formidable. Ultimately, the episode underscores the importance of monitoring injury updates, player usage shifts, and situational matchups to build optimal fantasy lineups in a volatile, injury-prone season.

[MUSIC] Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. [MUSIC] >> Welcome in. [MUSIC] >> Friday, October 9th, the Fantasy Footballers Podcast, that little bit of levity here in the air. It's just eye rolls and conundrums from Thursday night football. >> That game, that game was, what? >> If people, the game was, look, it was a disaster, but it wasn't at the exact same time. >> No, it was a good game. >> I was over here pleading, begging George Pickens to have a big game. >> I accidentally cleared my board here to see your prediction. >> You were pretty close. >> His prediction, I want to say, was like 7 for 115 in a touchdown. It was right around there and he ended up 9 for 130 in a touchdown. >> Pretty good. >> I wanted George to have a great game, but not at the expense of everybody else on the Cowboys. >> This was, I think, the first time in Owen 14 won on the road against somebody since 1975. >> Won't be the last time this week. >> The Cowboys. So Pickens had eight targets, four catches, 63 yards in the first three quarters. >> They went to him immediately in the fourth quarter when CDLAM went out. >> Yes, five catches. >> The whole time, 67 yards in a touchdown in that span. You followed up a week where CDLAM had 21 targets and 17 catches with a week where they barely had the football. The only time Dallas had the football and had drives, CD was out. And the report was quad contusion. He got hit in the quad in the same spot that he got hit last week. He's got 10 days to recover. They're not expecting, you know, that's not going to be a salad for your fantasy team. Because CD ended up with two catches for nine yards, but Pickens had a big game, Javante saved his day with a touchdown. The story of the night, Bucky Irving. >> Holy crap. >> It was just like the 21 165 and two touchdowns. >> You can, it's fair. >> Yes, Bucky's the story is the Dallas defense, not only did it not improve. It may be worse, which is awesome. >> Well, I know that's awesome as long as Dak Prescott doesn't look like a pumpkin. >> Yeah, well, Dak, he looked so bad. >> He looked so bad for God how to throw with any accuracy. And then he had two drops. The two that he actually puts on to people, Ferguson. >> He was awful. >> Dak was in, Dak was awful because the throws he was making their back foot. They were, get-ish and scared. It was a terrible game. But the Dallas defense, like, if you want to know why it isn't good for the offense, last night's the perfect example. They were a terrible defense last night and the offense sucked. Because they gave up a third, 11 minute drive to Bucky Irving and Jason Superstar Jay Laundan. >> Sure. That's right. I knew what I was doing, big enough Jay Laundan. Yeah, I will say this was, since we're talking about the Cowboys defense, we need to give a little bit of credit as well to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. Going into last night, prior to them pretty much shutting down the Cowboys for the vast majority of the game, they were top 10 against quarterbacks, top 10 against running backs, top 10 against wide receivers. They have been a good defense. You don't think of that when they're an O and four team. >> That's a good point because Todd Bolz, that's the one thing he's always been able to do is kind of scheme up a defense. That probably had a lot to do with it. It looked like Dak was under pressure a lot. He couldn't settle into the pocket. He missed CD, wide open for a bond touchdown, which I've rewatched a lot of times. >> Yeah. That was because he was, you know, skittish in the pocket, but Bucky 21 for 165 and one caught a touchdown pass scored twice from within the six. >> Dude. >> This is so comforting for those who have been hearing Kenny Gainwell, Sean Tucker talk. Because that's what it has been. The, the hilarity of eight last week where it's like Sean Tucker, did he score last week? >> Yeah, he said, yeah. >> Like the short yardage is Sean Tucker. And then we leave the game and Robinson is like, we got to figure out how to get Gainwell and Tucker the ball more. And they're like, "Site!" It's Bucky Irving inside the five. >> I mean, he was on fire. >> He was on fire and they stuck with him, which is what a good offensive coordinator does. >> Yeah, you had to. I mean, his big 72 yard run was not what it usually is. When you watch an NFL game and someone has a 72 yard run, it is almost always a lane opens up and a guy explodes. This was not, this was Bucky's like, "Oh, I'm, I'm stuck." >> It was Frogger. >> It was, it was completely Frogger. He's just jumping to the left, jumping to the right. >> What's going? >> All the Cowboys jumping diving into empty spot that he just moved out of there. I mean, it was all Bucky. So he looked fantastic. A couple of, you know, going into last year's draft. He was, I think, 80 P, like the running back seven, which felt maybe higher than what his ceiling should be at that point. And obviously, he disappointed at a bat in here. >> That's actually crazy to look back on. I didn't realize he was that high. >> Yeah. And so now it's like, he looks like what he looked like coming out of his rookie season. It's- >> The gap is wildly different from Gainwell to Bucky Irving or from Shon Tucker to Bucky Irving. >> Yeah, but Gainwell got four carries. Chris, Godwin got a carry. The Booca got a carry. So they're not like, this isn't the time share. >> No, it was, it was a big game for Todd Bulls because if he blew it at the end of that one, he was probably saying goodbye to this team. >> They tried. >> Well, it was nonsense about what happened. >> Dude, I am, I am all- >> You're Mr. Go for it. >> I am destroyed. Just snuff the flame, everything. No chance. You're on the one. And even, I'm like, that's a three-score game though. If you just kick it, then they have to score two touchdowns and something else. Like, that's you just take the points. >> Yeah, but also you've got to be able to get a yard. >> And they almost blew it. >> A Booca got into the end, so not through the air, but on the ground, on an end-around run, 14 yards. But he had his first double digit scoring day, probably the first one since you benched him or something out there. >> He hasn't scored double digits since, I believe, week 10 last season. So it's been a minute, and I wouldn't doubt if people did bench him considering Baker- >> Oh, I would benched him. >> And so, yeah, they just need a Baker out of the way, and Jaylon Daniels to come in here and set up scoring opportunities. >> The Baker might be back soon, by the way. They were talking on the broadcast a little sooner than expected. >> Like, if Ferguson doesn't cause that interception at the end of the game, what the way that the momentum was going, Dallas was going to score. >> Absolutely. >> And even before it was wide open when he caused that interception, by the way. >> Yes. >> It would have been like the 12 on first down, and also, DeRon Bland dropped a game, a potential game tying a pick six. >> It was easy one. >> Dallas did everything they could to lose this game. >> Papa Josh could have caught that thing. >> Well, it's not. >> I've seen Stonehands out there. >> He couldn't take handoff. >> Wait, was that the nickname? >> Yeah, the only because of the catching was like, stones trying to catch a football. >> It's better than lobster claws, all I'm going to say. >> Okay, I know who that is. All right, it's Friday. >> Butkland Friday. >> Yeah, we had one guy that would catch, you catch kind of a lot. >> So there's more like, I call that the seal clap. >> Yeah, it was more of a seal clap attempt. >> It's Friday. We give $100 away every Friday to a foot clan supporter. All of you amazing folks at JoinTheFoot.com. Today's winner of a $100 gift card. J.J. the Brave. J.J. the Brave over on JoinTheFoot.com. Congratulations. And we'll send that your way. Let's talk some news because there's lots of it. >> News and notes from Around the League. >> All right, the CDLAM, I just mentioned it. He missed most of the fourth quarter drives that mattered, which was unfortunate because he would have been, you know, he would have had three or four catches on those drives, bruised quad, not long-term. I guess it was a bruised quad from the week before. You saw him come into the game a couple times like on the goal line for the two-point conversion because he didn't have to sprint down the field. But the nice thing is-- >> And easily would have got the two-point conversion. If Dak was not being such a dumb duck, look incapable of throwing accurate pass. That was so disappointing. But long extended, you know, time to get better for him. All right. You guys ready for all these injuries? I mean, Mike was just talking this morning. >> Yes. >> I don't know if you want to talk about that. We were complaining a little bit about the nature of injury reporting right now. >> It's so-- >> With first to market versus first accurate to market. >> It is so completely broken. We have already had multiple instances this year of people-- of somebody reporting, "Hey, this person's-- they're practicing limited." And because of the way that fantasy football and social media works, you're like, "Okay, this starts then spreading around." You're like, "Okay, that's what happened." So why would I and you need to go back and double check that. 'Cause it's like, you know who was practicing on, what was it, Thursday or Wednesday? It was like, T. Higgins was practicing. No, he wasn't. He got marked as it did not practice. You know who was practicing yesterday? It's the fond digs. Actually, no, he was on the side with the trainer. Now he's not gonna practice today. Like, we gotta get it together. Beat reporters. We are, we rely on you for good, accurate information. And it's so broken right now. It's so frustrating how the stuff is happening. Well, I will say the Friday injury blitz podcast that we have will come before the weekend. Matthew Betts puts that together. He waits for the official injury reports to come out so that we kind of know actually what's going on versus what's just being kind of talking about. This is perfection. Thank you for finding this, Matt. Matt just sent a screenshot of, we have a tweet from. Well, yeah, let's just mention both. This is a tweet from Underdog, saying, "Ramandre Stephenson knee "officially limited in practice." And then a tweet from 30 seconds later, from RotoWire, "Ramandre Stephenson knee was officially listed "as a non-participant in Wednesday's broadcast." Both cannot be true, people. Come on, man. Here's the problem. And I agree with you. I can't do it. I'm not there. The injury blitz is great on Friday to get the full information that you need. But fantasy is like by nature supposed to be something you quickly react to to make moves and things like. So it's just frustrating, I think, to not have the most reliable information all the time because people want to be first instead of right. Official injury report just for clarity on that one, since it's not. For the Ramandre. For the Ramandre was limited participant Wednesday and Thursday. Goodness gracious, man. Okay. All right. Devon, this was supposed to be the easy part. Was getting the new in like a official part. And then the suffering was the, oh, man, this guy's hurt. Well, here's Eagle injury updates for you. Don't tape in the wicks. Added to the injury report with a hamstring. Devon, they Smith did not practice hamstring, doing rehab on the side. Say, Quan Barkley, not expected to play with a hamstring. So triple, you who, in Eagles country. This is such the game that the Eagles, like I'll tell you right now. I'll end up winning. I picked them. Really? I picked them. Just going to step up and just it's just the kind of slug in London that, you know, Jacksonville. We'll see. I don't know. It's just a gut feeling. Kyle Menungai, turf toe injury, playing basically his playing status uncertain for the next one to two weeks. I guess he's been dealing with this. It was a DMP on Wednesday and Thursday. I don't think it's there. I don't know. Okay. That's not going to be helpful. But, but they, they did say he had been dealing with some injuries, been playing through them, trying to play through them. He was a DMP though. So there's a chance Swift has alone. He's expected to play. He was back at a limited practice. Ashen Gentie was downgraded to a limited participant on Thursday. But all throw it out because it's like the belief that the Andre Swift is able to go. It's the belief. And then Menungai with his turf toe injury. I just did it for a very low cost investment. I saw that. Goshan Johnson should be picked up in certain leagues, just in case. That's actually super smart because turf toe is a problem. Sometimes like guys miss multiple weeks to come back and they're not even nearly as effective. I remember, I think it was Antonio Gibson's rookie year. Like he was crushing and then he got the turf toe and it kind of fell off. It just, you, you be, be proactive with these injuries. Gentie was downgraded to limited, was a full on Wednesday. So that's something to monitor. Breeze Hall, Adnan Mitchell, ruled out for the Jets. Bangles wide receivers. That's a big headline for the week. Jamar Chase returned to a limited practice Thursday is in uniform for today, Friday's practice. T Higgins did not practice again Thursday, not spotted so far today. So T Higgins, it's a matchup against Miami, right? Yes. So you, you could see a player that has been historically injured a lot. Get a week off. We'll see what happens with T Higgins. So Lave limited on Thursday with a foot injury. And they're saying that this is new. This is not the knee problem that, you know, you saw a hyper extended on that last guard time. No, no, no, no, no. I mean, if it's a foot, it probably is nothing to do with it. You didn't injure his foot on that play, but that could mean it's worse. That could mean that it happened at practice, but it's, it's, it's a certain, he was dancing. So I will see what happens. Justin Jefferson remains limited on Thursday with the ankle. Nathanson limited on Thursday with a hamstring, which by the way, it's very clear that hamstrings got super jealous of growing. Yeah, they are. They are. We got the words we're doing. Big work. Butter, our butterfly stretch, push, I think what do you do for the hammy? That's more of a runner stretch. Get some runner stretch. You're wrong. I mean, it's just the, just the touch of toes. I couldn't know. And over to the front touch toes. I could never do it. Karen McClure and Stefan Diggs both miss practice on Thursday with hamstring injuries. Good. Nice, man. Yeah. Yeah. Stop it. Cam Skataboo is now limited. He's not in a non-contact jersey anymore. Yeah, it was an upgrade for him. And Malig neighbors return to a limited practice. His knee has been sore. I don't want to hear sore knee with Malig neighbors. No, no, you don't not when you're coming off of an ACL, don't, don't get hurt. Please. No, unsurprisingly, because I believed in them. Ladma Kalki did not practice again due to the foot injury. Yeah, it's really, it's really, really tough with Ladd, the upcoming schedule. This is a player who has been playing through injury and it has not been working. Like they need to give the problem is they need him so desperately. They're own for, their offense doesn't work without him, but he's not himself right now. So it's not working with him. I can't fathom starting him. Like if he's active, you know, last week he was active, he, he'd goost, he played 34% of the snaps. He's currently banged up. The matchup against Denver, like I'm looking elsewhere. I'm pretty excited for next year, Andy, for, because like the, my guys, it's a big deal. You know, we, we put work into these are guys that we truly believe in. And of course, foot claim, like if you support the show and you follow the advice, you, you go after those guys and people keep track and, and next year they're going to be like, Andy, the worst picks you've ever made, it's going to be, it's going to be really fun. I can tell you right now, some of the best picks for next year, Ladd McConkey, like Alec Pierce, Alec Pierce. I mean, I'm telling you, Caleb Williams, I think he could come back and redeem the, my guys. And then and then dribbling is like a year away. Just listen, I know you're, I know you're right. I can see the reddit threats. Yeah. Yeah. Because we've had a good run the last few years has been great. And this, no one's going to remember their hurt. That's what's going to happen in the reddit thread be like, Ladd had, like what receiver 95? Yes. Yes. That's what it'll be. Gosh dang it. All right. Lamar Jackson did not practice again on Thursday. We don't think Lamar's going to play. No. No, we don't. All right. We'll take a break. We'll jump into the forecast. Jason Stribling, why do you see the 109? Didn't mean expectations. All right. Let's get into it. Fantasy forecast presented by prize pigs. I know it's a long show, but man, I, I surprised you haven't already brought up Mike McDaniel's press conference. Jason. Oh, talking about the running back room and this, this whole like, though the worst quote from the press conference was, we are playing different running backs based on, you know, the fact that we make the defenses think about three different tackling schemes. Yeah. Yeah. The defenders are like, did you hear this, Mike? No. Yeah, you hear it for the first time. That's not a joke. Please tell me more. There's not, yeah, he's, he was, you know, if you use three backs, then the defense has to come up with three different tackling plans. Yeah. No, no, no, no, they're not out there. I mean, you see, I was going to do the move where I hit him as hard as I can and wrap up, but now I have to prepare for three different tackling plans for backs with various skill sets. We can't tackle the same. These NFL defenders, I mean, not a professional defender, but I don't think that that's a problem. Got them cards over there. I think that there are, that is, we're getting ready for this. That's a desperate man. Well, I'll have these ready. Yeah. I will say this, listening to the whole press conference, I watched the whole thing and my takeaway was, it's not changing. Like, he said a lot of good things about him are in Hampton, his confidence in him that he is the starter. And I do think that in the timeshare, he will more often than not lead in volume and carries and touches, but it is a timeshare. Is someone who loved him or in Hampton, that was my guy. In part because I thought Mike McDaniel was good. My bad. Well, look, if they're winning a game, you might be right about him. That's been the biggest variable. They were supposed to be. That's why he was a pick. This is why I didn't want Devon H. Ann on the Dolphins. Right. I wanted someone on a good team and a good offense. Turns out the chargers turns out. Turns out. Yeah. And I will say this, one of the biggest arguments for it was the fact that they had slater and Joe Alt and an upgraded center on the offensive line was totally. Amazing and now they are all gone at the beginning of the fourth quarter last game. They had Four of their five offensive lineman We're rookies preparing his her bro defenses. No, no, I'm just saying their offensive line is Jason's bailed I I I certainly don't believe it's going to be fixed soon. I will stand 100% by my inhampton is great like I still I get all the the metrics is he is He is breaking tackles. He's yards after contact his speed his like not the vision is where it needs to be That's the only area that I think is a concern to me. He can break tackles. He can be a goal. I'm back I don't you're not passing him the ball over Keaton Mitchell, which was is a problem should By the way, yeah, that's the cowboys problem. They are not practicing the proper tackling scheme Well, it was they were ready for Baker. They were ready They didn't know how to tack. No, no, no, then they would when they would smush Jaylon in the well they did all the Spoon works against they yeah, they were just the game. Well, it got all the hype this week. So they were Tackle gain well, which is different. Yeah, you go for the feet on gain well. Right only. Yeah, Bucky You got to go for the shoulders, right? Everybody knows that Good adept. What a quote. What a what a bunch of horse garbage. We got all the dynasty show That came out this last week. We drafted offensive play callers the offensive minds. No one has had a more precipitous fault like Spoiler. Yeah, we did not draft Mike McTeeh. He did not make that he was the fellow of the ball Yeah, who was the head coach for the Chargers that we saw Brute is staley that just we saw melt is he? Oh, yeah, you know, you see the president before an after term. Yeah, staley in one year went from like looking like a You had a coach to like eight year Obama a hundred percent. He had a 34 month year. That guy was that was brutal on him But it was also his fault because he kept going for on fourth and it never worked Okay, here we go yesterday. We covered Eagles Jags the London game Bears Packers Texans Titans Bengals doffins Raiders Patriots Viking Saints Browns Jets Colts Steelers Six more matchups to get into. We also have the fantasy face off on today's episode of the show I'll start with the three-in-one giants Mike and I were just musing on this this morning against the one three watching commanders Basically saying that at this juncture, I really truly believe all four teams can win the division I don't even know who like let's just let's do this experience could be less in the Save the team that you're going to that you think is gonna win the division. We're gonna do it at the exact same time You got to give me a moment that you know the four teams. I know but I don't know which one I think is actually gonna win Okay, yeah, give me one second. I'm just gonna look at one little sketch This is just a gut thing on how you think they're playing Just say the team name not the not the you know city ready one two three All right, we just said three different names. We said three different names and none of them were the current. Yes Vision leader standing alone at the top three and one giant two is in this match up wow Yeah, the commanders are at home in this one and they're four and a half point favorites It's a 41 and a half point over under. It's a low scoring game Yeah, the problem with the giants the top the problem with the giants is you're like you know the rest of the year is Winston and McCarthy Yeah, so you look at what is the who's the best quarterback in the division DAC? Yes, and then probably right now You could argue jaden and hurts who's gonna have the better second half Both have a lot of injury jaden So we'll see. I mean that he's missing digs and McLaren this week. So did we mention digs? I guess we'll mention them right now we did digs is a DMP with the hamstring McLaren the hamstring could be Antonio Williams breakout game We'll see if that happens But I mean this is a game littered with injury You have a limited camp scatable. You got a limited jacquarticroscopy man. You've got a sore Malik neighbors. You've got a limited Isaiah likely So decision-wise you know is neighbors in the category. I'm assuming of if he starts you play him Yeah, I think so what what we saw with Winston you know 112 receiving yards last week that if he's active You're you're putting them in the line up for sure basically the report we got this morning from Jordan Rennon over there Covering the giants is that neighbors Andrew Thomas as a likely cam scataboo are all practicing on Friday and good to go So let's just Plan on scat being out there neighbors likely You know, I think likely showed with the target count last week And the fact that the commanders are so bad against tight ends like this is a really good start for him Mike start of the week And scat you know, it wasn't a good game last week for him. He just was inefficient scat's been very inefficient on the season work Is there volume is there and also you know both him and Judkins they got off to slow starts this year But they are coming off of a pretty serious injury that Yes time goes on I mean we saw that with like Tony Polar who had some of that injury it took time before he looked Back to himself after that original injury. So I I think scataboo is just gonna keep getting better and better Would you play jaden Daniels with the new newly minted left elbow brace or Jacobi Berset against Detroit? Oh man that one is tough. I am pro jaden Daniels I think he's going to still run but with the injuries to wide receivers the overrunner in the Cardinals game I think I lean Berset hey I would play Jacobi as well shock against Minnesota or jaden jaden that one I'm fine going next my start of the week or jaden jaden jaden jakory krisky mayor or So he's starting this game or Ollie Gordon Again Cincinnati I've got them back to back in my rankings. I've got jakory one spot ahead one wild thing that happened and it's you know more for dinosaur leagues and stuff But Ktron Allen who got some work early in the season With the signing of Austin Eccler and apparently the return over shot wide. I'm guessing They cut him he's gone. That's fat man. That is wild. So it's JCM white and Eccler You know in some regards it's kind of Kind of more secures JCM for that first and second down a roll because if anybody was gonna be able to beat him for that It would have been ktron mm-hmm, and it's not happening, but bill right now is not playing well 37th in yards per carry 39th and percentage of runs stuff that the line of scrimmage The the offensive line was a major concern coming into the year You already have an injury to your quarterback because of that in part and you have inefficient running game. I also think the the absence of McLaren and the absence of digs if if they're both out for this game They're going to focus on the run and make Jane Daniels have to really beat him through the air, which is yeah What then Tony Deami. Yeah, exactly. It's gonna be difficult We've seen that with you know the inefficiencies for the Houston Texans running game when Nico's not there the defense can really just focus on a bad offensive line and take advantage Yeah, that's that's why I'm on pretty fast sneaky df us play this week is check a conqo Sure because he's coming back and they don't have receivers and so much like we were liking a sickie with maybe When we thought maybe chase and higgins wouldn't play It's something to pay attention to not something to count on uh dimper at two and two taking on chase and loss angelus chargers Don't do the Vegas only has one win The vagus line is dimper minus three and a half over under is 41 and a half This puts dimper. Yeah, I mean three and a half road favorites here against the chargers I mean, this isn't this is one of the games in the gauntlet gauntlet schedule for the chargers that you're like well They might be able to get that thing done. It's not I mean this week against dimper's a lot better than in Kansas City next week or Technically at home, but on the road against the Rams to the next week. So this is another chance they have This is the first time the Broncos Have been favored on the road against LA since 2017 man Here we go fantasy football starts in this one mic and I have some dimper broncos this week We do I have bonix is my start of the week just it's more of a chargers thing Might be a hard start of the week is the charger suck So what other decisions are you doing what is the wider receiver room for dimper feel like to you right now? So jalen waddle his price fix projection is sitting at six and a half targets Healthy enough you have like pat brine is now He won't be a part of of this game and this game plan. So I I feel I think I feel pretty good about jalen waddle. I even think if you like Desperate times Cortland sudden is not the worst play this week. Yeah, I think waddle is a good play. You you saw I mean obviously Sean Payton went out and Since sun moon and stars paid the man and and talked about how he was gonna use waddle Waddle has not been utilized in that way he's taking over play calling duty. I think we're gonna see a big game from jalen waddle here Man, yeah, I think four weeks in you've been disappointed. So you'd like to see the breakout start to happen The offense as a whole has has been That I mean everything's been a checkdown from bonix. He has not been pushing the ball down the field certainly not successfully And that's what I mean when waddle was joining this team You know late in this offseason. It was like wow. They really need him going back and watching bonix on dj's they needed waddle And it's still it hasn't worked Hopefully the play calling change helps and the matchup against the chargers helps just the decisions RJ Harvey The running back for the Denver Broncos is currently being targeted on 44% of his routes Too much that's way too much. Oh what are you doing? If that's what's gonna be happening then I was taking those fantasy points How bad is the LA offense been dead last in EPA per play? 31st and points per drive barely ahead of the dolphins. - And this is a tough defense. - It's a very tough defense. - Denver, so I expect the offensive line for Herbert to part the ways and allow him to get smushed all game along. - Well, in that case, I don't think it's the best matchup for the Hampton trifecta of backfield situation. So like, Manuel Wilson should be starting for the Seahawks, right? And Harvey's on the other side of this one and Braylon Allen, like are you taking Hampton over any of those three? - I would play Braylon Allen. Who are the other names? - Emmanuel Wilson. - I would play Wilson against San Francisco. - Harvey, you're start of the week. - I would play Harvey. As if you're in a standard, maybe-- - Jeremiah Love over him, over Hampton. - Oh, yeah, it is. - So he's-- - He wants Detroit better. He's looked better with the ankle injury practice recently. I still think Hampton is a low-end starter. I've got him as my running back 24. - Yeah, he's not a bench, but he's more like a, I even met running back 23 right now. - Losing two offensive linemen on an offensive line that was already not performing sucks. Trey Harris, I mentioned him because you're not playing Q, Jenny Moore. Lads probably missing. Gadsden is, Gadsden's, he got eight targets last week. Maybe he benefits from missing pieces, but Trey Harris has been a little bit more involved on a snap count basis. You remember him from last year, 93% of snaps last week. - He's a good wide receiver. It's just a really difficult matchup. And if you don't have the other guys, and you could focus on someone, I'm not really excited to start any charger, to be honest. - The Detroit lines at two and two take on the one and three Arizona Cardinals in one of the games of the week here. Vegas line is Detroit minus five and a half on the road. Overruners 54.5-- - We round up-- - 55! - We do. - We do. 30 implied points for the Lions. - The highest revenge of the blobfish. - Yeah, he's back. - Can the blobfish get revenge? I think so. Arizona, here's what I don't know. I don't know if the blobfish is commonplace all year. - Oh, I agree with that. - I don't know if that's gonna happen. It certainly feels like Dan Campbell might have to pull a Dan Campbell this year. - I feel like this entire conversation was confusing for some people. - It might be. - But it would have been more confusing if we had said, "Look, at some point Guns Mahoney is gonna take over Play Kong from the blobfish." - Thank you. - All right. We're talking about Drew Petsing offensive coordinator for Mike. - Mike, I would have said it earlier if I had remembered. - Former-- - I couldn't place his real name because they've called me a blobfish for so long. - You did start that. - I did? - Yeah. - Oh, that was a mic. - No, that was you, you started it. - Well, have you ever seen a blobfish? - I've seen Drew Petsing. - All right, the Cardinals. - Are real, real, bad on defense. But guess what? So are the Lions. - Yeah, they are. - Did you see their defensive coordinator press conference? Where-- - Oh yeah, I called the right place. - It was like, they blitzed eight times and seven of the eight plays were great for the opposing offense. And then he's like, they were the right calls. And then he's like, what do you explain the fact they didn't work? What they were the right calls? - Oh, okay. - Cool man. They didn't seem that way. - I mean, the only way that you can justify is the players, the players did execute on the correct play call. And sometimes that can happen. But I will say if you do it at times, at some point you're not executing on your personnel groupings. - So we have starts of the week littered in this matchup. High over under, Jacobi resets in there as Mike started the week. Jason, you've got golf. Michael Wilson is your start of the week. Oiders see, Rajamo is mine. As is Sam Laporta. If you look at the-- - Just start anyone. - I mean, the defense is our atrocious. This is why Jeremiah love even if he, they said he's fine. But even if he's a little limited, the opportunity is gonna be there. - And Tyler Alger is a Jake glass in case of emergency. Type of back that could easily score a touchdown here. - Who's got a higher chance to score on a touchdown this week? Hampton or Alger? - I think Hampton, because if they get around the goal line, it should go to him. Whereas here, it could still go to love. - I mean, to get around the goal line part for Arizona, there are five more points implied for that offense. I think it'd be interesting. But Michael Wilson, yeah, he's 30 targets in the last two weeks. He's an auto start. If you're wildly desperate, Marvin Harris, a junior, plays for the Cardinals. - He does. He runs a lot of routes in a high over under game. - Marvin or Trey Harris. - Marvin. - I'm doing Marvin. - Marvin or Darius Cooper. - I have that choice. I have that choice in our chop league. - What about Darius Cooper, who has-- - For Philadelphia. - For Philadelphia. - That is the worst because he's got three touchdowns, right? Marvin does score. Like Marvin has like 14 touchdowns in his career. Now it's one for 11 and a touchdown. But Cooper's probably playing 30% of snaps. And Marvin's gonna play 95%. - No, Cooper's gonna be probably up near 100% of snaps if Don Tavian wicks us out. And Devante Smith is out. Kyle has asked the question. If not now, when for Marvin? I can, the answer is never. - Did you see that Marvin? - I am not going to do this, Mike. I'm not standing by. Mike was the blob fish originator. - Oh, what? - 'Cause in the slack, he said I started it. Be quiet, let Andy take the credit. He doesn't wanna go down as the blob fish. - Inventor. - It is. That's why I assume it wasn't you. - Listen, does it home that are like, oh, you calling a person a blob fish? He was R off in San Francisco. - Yeah, this was, yeah. - If I called my kid a blob fish, that's okay. You can't call my kid a blob fish. - No, that's rude. - Do you understand the rules of names? - Anyway, I do dislike him. (laughing) I don't know how you got, how did you get that job? I don't know, it's nonsense. You're like, yeah, that team that can't win games and sure they put up yards, but they didn't really score any points. That's the offense I want. - I mean, just start everybody in this game. Obviously McBride, Almond Ryan, Gibbs are your best start. - Did you guys see that Marvin Harrison hired agents? Like, he, he, yeah. - Yeah, he didn't have one. That's why the NFLPA contract thing with his jersey didn't work. - Yeah. - He did hire an agent. - Strange timing. - Could be. I mean, I don't, - I will not be shocked about the deadline. If this continues. - I think that's the implication. - Why did you get an agent now when a trade or something might be going on? - Yeah. - Yeah, we'll see. I mean, do you want him out of Arizona? - No, I want him to play well. That's what I want. I want him to develop into what he, he was legitimately a great gross polypops in my garden. - He was legitimately a great prospect. - All right, he played different in college. - You could have picked anything. - In your garden, you could have said like cash. You with lollipops? - Just something that can't happen. I wanted it to be fanciful. - Okay. - Love vicious throwing me off. All right, the 49ers, 4 and 0 against the 3 and 1 Seahawks. - Here's a game. - Yeah, and it's got a decent over under. Seattle minus 3, over under 45 and a half. I mean, the 49ers have been lights out. The efficiency, the success of Brock Purdy. I would say that, you know, I've watched the Seahawks. They have a, their defenses ranked very well. And I had this philosophical question with Mike this morning. Jason, I'm gonna let you answer real quick. Where do you lean more often when you're choosing a defense for fantasy? When it's a mid tier to lower tier defense with a great matchup, example being Bengals. They're middle tier facing the dolphins who haven't scored more than 13 points. Versus, I mean, you've got Seattle who at home very good. They're second against quarterback, second against wide receivers. They're six in fantasy's points scored. But you're playing in offense has been pretty much carving people up in the 49ers. How do you generally lean in defense? - Generally, I, generally I will take my great defense like the Seahawks are and I will bench them and pick up. I'll roster two for the week that they're in a really bad matchup. If the Seahawks were playing against the billers. - So you lean towards the opposing offense more than your defense. - Correct. - Which Mike kind of talked about. It depends on the week. But he kind of, sometimes goes the other way. Obviously it saves you a roster spot versus rostering too. But I was just curious what your inclinations are on a normal basis. - Yeah, sometimes I give the Andy my example. Right now I have the Baltimore Ravens in the league of record against the Falcons. 'Cause look, a couple of weeks ago, that felt like it was gonna be a great matchup. Now it feels not like a great matchup and Tyler and Huntley is starting, but the Ravens played the Cleveland Browns next week. And I don't really have the spot to put a second defense. So as of right now, I don't know by Sunday what I'll do, but right now I'm probably just gonna gamble and throw the Ravens out there. - Do we have to hit this button? - If we're in between matchups, we should. - We're not in between matchups. - Well, let's finish this one. - Gonna finish this one? - Yeah. - Breaking news on the way. - Soon. - We've never had a teaser for breaking news. That's usually interjected. - Emanuel Wilson will be the starting running back for the Seahawks this week. His prize picks projection as him at 78 and a half rushing yards with receiving. - Wow. - Increasing pushes. - Rushing energy. - He's a solid play. The San Francisco 49ers are giving up so many receptions to the running back position. So I'm very interested in Wilson. - J.S. in as an auto start every week. Why are you feeling about Donald? right now in terms of, you know, is he just on the back burner in terms of starting options for the moment? Yeah. He's a low end streamer for this week is wild because that game he had against Washington, right? They lost the game 3331. Do you know what he finished on the week for that game? Fantasy wise. Well, it didn't end up with like four touchdowns or something. He was the number one quarterback. Yeah. So the game they lost he was number one last week back down to 17 in a game they won. Brock party. Do you temper expectations going on the road to Seattle? Yeah. Do you play bone X over him against the chargers? No. I think I do. It's funny. The San Francisco 49ers have like Shanahan just has McVase number. We saw that whether it was the jet lag, you know, Australia thing to start the season, but they always, they always kick the crap out of the Rams. The Seahawks always kick the crap out of the 49ers. And so I think that the Seahawks are going to, despite the fact that the Niners have been awesome. They're undefeated. And they've looked like one of if not the best team in the league. I think the Seahawks at home are going to handle this. Interesting. Pretty well. On the other one, the divisional round last year, 41 to six. Mike Evans didn't practice on Thursday still managing the rib injury seems to be willing to play through it. Is he active then start always situation right now? I mean, last week with the injury, he still put a double digit fantasy points. Really tough, man. But he's right around 10. Mike, would you prefer just go same team? Mike Evans with the looming ribs or Debo? I think I go Debo. Debo's looked really good. I, you know, I don't love either of these players, but if I had both of them on the roster, one of them could go out at any second in this game. So I would, I would lean Debo there. You guys remember that tease for the breaking news? Yeah, I do. Um, we'll get to it right after this break. Oh no. How much time has to pass before it's no longer breaking? And it's just news. Oh, are we still good? Yeah, we're definitely. Is it what you call it? Broken? Broken news. Broken news. So the news that we're getting right here right now is that Ashen Gentie is not at practice again on Friday and has been limited with ankle and foot injuries. The foot is a new addition to the injury report. And while this was breaking news during our break, I moved Mr. Mike Washington to my lineup. Mike Washington will become a very fun, sexy type of play, huge, huge play ability. You guys feel good about that back there? Mike Washington joining my lineup, guys. Oh, this is a dynasty maximum points thing. I told him my entire goal and mind is to steal their pick. Gentie on Sunday, man, he came through with a bunch of receptions and everything, but he'd looked like a very hurt man. So this is, I don't think this is very surprising. Yeah. That's big time. And obviously if Mike Washington is somehow out there, yeah, I'm gonna go look at his, you need to make sure that you acquire him, Mike Washington, Mike Washington's 93% roster. Yeah. He's done enough. Yeah. That splash play two games ago. So that's big news. All right. Baltimore. Three and one Sunday night football taking on the Falcons. The Vegas line here Atlanta minus three, the over unders 43 and a half. I am on team Falcons, man, I think that they look rejuvenated. I think they're going to cover here. I'm very much on the Falcons side of the equation. I mean, and this is just a matter of, I think they're offense, which has been the number one offense the last two weeks. Hold on. It up. Brux is updating me. I guess I was on a dynasty team when I looked at Mike Washington's roster, but only 36% on redraft. So redraft. So redraft. Yeah. That's a big. Thank you, brooks. I was on the wrong league. Baltimore Atlanta, Atlanta minus three over under 43 and a half, you know, we should have safe flowers and we don't think we're going to have a more. So you're going to be relying on Tyler Huntly to go on the road against the team that has been able to put up a ton of points. If you had told me this was just going to be a defensive battle, I would say, I think Baltimore will win that game. But the way Atlanta is playing on offense and the weapons that they have and the way Pinnix has been playing, I just feel like there's a momentum to that offense right now that I don't. I don't look at this Ravens defense, 25th against wideouts, 17th against quarterbacks, 12th against running backs, 15th against tight ends. They're a little bit better when you started adjusting for schedule, but I still look at that data and say, well, we're still forming that a little bit. So I just don't think that there are good enough defense to slow down what we've been seeing. Do you guys disagree? No, I don't disagree. I don't look. When you were saying you were talking about the Ravens and they got the fouts, I don't view the Ravens as a great defense that is worthy of a bad matchup. The question is just, is this a bad matchup? Yeah. We've only got two weeks. And in those two weeks, the Falcons have looked unstoppable with Michael Pinnix. I don't necessarily think that that is what their baseline is either. However, they're on fire, their crowd is super, you know, they're going to be insanely into this game at home. And without Lamar, yeah, covering the spread makes sense. But as far as matchup goes, I'm certainly not afraid of the matchup for B-john or Drake London, nor would I be afraid of any matchup right now. Those two guys are so safe, Kyle Pits, on the other hand, I don't know. What is going on with Kyle Pits? I honest, honestly, what's going on with Kyle Pits is unneeded. It's not anything he's doing wrong. It's just, hey, why don't I just throw the ball to Drake London first, or why don't I just give the ball to B-john? And it always works. When you're the number one offense the last two weeks, that means you don't have to defend yourself against utilization of Kyle Pits. Yeah. I mean, Drake London's utilization has been incredible. Last week, he only had 96 yards because he was completely unneeded in the second half of that game. What I mean by what is going on with Kyle Pits, though. Kyle Pits just signed a very lucrative extension with the Atlanta Falcons. The numbers I have are that he has played on 59% of Atlanta's routes. A pass catching tight end who has as many catches on the gear as Austin Hooper. Oh, we got news. Kyle Manungai has been ruled out formally. Pick up. Rochon Johnson, everybody. Oh, update on the Mike Washington roster percentage in the nine leagues. I'm in 100 percent. Yeah. I know. It's a weird thing when people are engaged, it seems like that's impossible, but we have to at least report what the what the actual truth is. Yeah. There's home. There's home and casual leagues out there. People listening. You should be picked up. Rochon definitely needs to be picked up. Obviously, I don't know if I'm playing, you're not playing him if Swift is active. You're just, but if Swift, if Swift also misses the game, which is and you play Rochon, you know, the realm of possibility, then Rochon becomes like a must start. Yeah. It consolidates a great running game against about a running defense to one dude, circling back to this game. The London's a lock. B. John's a lock. Kyle Pits 10% target share. You're probably not playing him anytime soon. And, you know, he's always going to be capable of that crazy wild breakout game with the big play. He's athletic. But I mean, you got my point, my counterpoint to Mike is this, you signed Kyle Pits. Yeah. To an extension. Yes. Because of your, I mean, he didn't produce for them for all of the time he played for them before the extension. Whatever he's doing, they're happy with it. It's good enough. It's good enough to lock and do other things. They need him there. And honestly, if Drake London goes down, we know Kyle Pits can step up. He's an important depth piece for them. He's just capable of a weird amount of money to give up this game is really, really, really easy to me. I mean, it's start both single running next B. John and Derek Henry start both of the solo wide receivers, Zay flowers and Drake London and check out. I'm still starting Zay flowers, even though, yeah, I'm too, but I'm not happy. I'm not excited about it. I mean, the two catches. It's wild. It's just for Zay last week that we're great, we're pinpoint placement from Lamar. So he can get that. That is true. They were perfect. One of those throws. Perfect. But, but Zay is getting wide open. And if, I mean, if we're, we're just going to have backyard ball probably. The Buffalo Bills are Monday night football game is a great one. The Buffalo Bills three and one. The Rams two and two Vegas line Los Angeles. The Rams favored by three over under his 54 and a half. Second highest implied point total for the Rams at 28 and a half or 28.8. This is, this is exciting. I mean, the last time we saw these two teams play. The Rams won 44 to 42. Oh, gorgeous. The Rams offense. Yes. The Bills defense being suspect. Are you being game perv again? Are you being a game perv? Yeah. Oh my gosh. I want this game. Yeah. It just start everybody. Just start. Just start everybody. Oh, what did he say? What did he say? Yeah. I mean, what about Dalton Kincaid, who has been invisible? I'm pulling a Kyle Pitz last two weeks. I'm still playing. He is. Yeah. A little bit of the pits. A lot of the pits. I guess for when you've started him, the routes last week. Yeah. Yeah. What about Dalton Kincaid, who has been invisible. I'm still playing. He is. Yeah. A lot of the pits. The routes last. week we're down. Um, I did see a clip of Josh Owens pulling his breast. Best. Uh, what is it? It's best, uh, DAC where they're on the goal line and Dalton released. It was like, throw me the ball, Josh, because it would have been a free touchdown and he didn't do it. So fifth, we're still 50, 50 on Dalton concade. I am leaning on the side of I still, I'm going to put him out there and believe. Yeah, we, we have a bunch of great starts here monitoring the DJ more situation. Tyler Higby seems like Tyler Higby is a fine start at the tight end position in a game. Fine young start. Yeah, who not young, but he's a fine old start 33 years old. But, um, you know, 11 targets. Yeah, I'm very, six targets last week. He's had over 60 yards in both of these games that we've had, you know, we've had Puka back and they just, all of their tight ends are gone. They're, they're, they're left with Higby. And so Higby is a fine enough star. I don't expect a monster performance. Do it. Same game. Higby or Dalton concade. I would want the upside of concade. I, I do think that maybe the floor is higher with Higby, but if you get seven points versus four points, you don't really carry out a huge deal. I want the chance at a, you know, 15, 20 point game, which I think that's only on the cake. Did you guys say that you'll play Kemp Coleman, even if DJ Mars active? We didn't talk about Kemp Coleman. So I mean, that, that was a conversation you had. Yeah. Well, no, I, well, I know you said start everybody. So I just wanted to make sure that I, I drilled down a little bit here because I think it's confusing. I think, I don't care. Alicia Kier is always going to get his, uh, Malik Washington targets. Uh, so that doesn't really change. It's just, I don't know if I trust Kemp Coleman with DJ more back. I don't, I don't either. I think you lied. Well, I mean, you lied when you said start everyone. You're a liar. You're basically saying you're a liar. When I, I am a liar, I would not start. Cannot a mum field. Um, I, I can go. If you want to, okay, you don't love the game. Coleman is a real, I mean, the biggest free agent signing of the week. I think it's worth a talk. No, it is. He is an automatic start to me if DJ more is gone. If he is back, I think you can throw him in there just to have pieces of this game, but he's not a must start. Okay. Would you play, uh, Tre Harris or Kien Coleman with DJ more back? I'd play Kien Coleman. Yeah. Kien Coleman. Injury updates. More of them. The fine digs officially rolled out for week five. Jayden Daniels will play in week five and, uh, they said, Terry McLearn is trending in the right direction as well. They did. Zach Taylor said that tomorrow chase is in the protocol. T Higgins will be questionable. Jason, what are you going to say? I was just saying I'm very happy that Jayden Daniels will play in week five because we'll talk about him in just a second. Oh, man. Okay. You risked that. Yes, sir. Now, you know, it's it's Jaden, not Jalen. Oh, shoot. Not again. The line was so low. The line was so good. Uh, no, you're saved by the fact you played on Thursday at football. Let's jump in. Fantasy face off, presented by prize picks. Well, uh, despite going three for four and missing what a loser, missing one by four yards from being perfect. I am somehow some way of the shirt crushing these wheel of shame. Did I, I mentioned how close to perfect I was. Yeah. All right. Let's spin that wheel. I'm ready to be so ashamed. I was so ashamed. Spin it. I'm sure you are. Perfect. Yeah. I was great as well. Technically speaking. Yeah. I love a technical. Does that say run forest run? Oh, very nice. Who am I? Do you not understand the reference? Yeah. It's really not. It's not hidden kind of in the name. Uh, how do I have a lady's wig? You're putting the beard on. Oh, like a mullet. Oh, man, you put the beard on the back of your head. Now, do you know I was confused? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know why you put the beard on like a mullet. There you go. There he is. There he is. Run forest run. That's pretty good. I mean, it's bubblegum. It's not the most, uh, I mean, I'm breathing a lot of hair. All right. Good. It works. Yeah. You were three for four. So I took it ease. Thank. Thank you. Um, Hey guys. I don't know. Um, I thought it was a lady's wig. All right. Why did you guys talk more than me? Okay. Look, I'll go right into Jaden Daniels at quarterback. Uh, I have him more than three. Jaden Daniels at quarterback more than 30 and a half rushing yards. Now, I think there's a lot of fear over there. Like the elbow. Yeah. Is he going to run? Yeah. He's going to run. He's going, he's going to run the ball. That's part of his entire, like presence on the field. Um, at 30 and a half, I think is a projection that, you know, I, he pretty much always hits that. Obviously the projection is lower. I think it's a really scary one. Yeah. It's probably that's fun. I'm having a mind. But I'm fine with it. That's fun. Uh, my quarterback is my green goblin. Uh, we take in Jared Goff, 209 and a half passing yards. We'll go more. Well, my quarterback is my green goblin as well. It's been a trend this year, and it is a name you probably didn't think I'd ever utter. Justin Herbert. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, no. Oh, no. Is passing yards projection is 149.5. I'm taking the more. Okay. Yeah. Uh, also a part of your costume is you have to have, uh, Joanne Jennings and your, uh, no, Jenna. Okay. Now I understand. Um, all right. What does that have to do with the girl wig? Uh, running back. This is my green goblin. Be John Robinson more than a 13 and a half rushing attempts. Nice. That will be very easy. All right. Says, Mr. Green. Have you ever gotten a green goblin? Yeah. I was, uh, I got my green goblin last week. Uh, got to drop a little hate. I apologize, everyone. I'm still starting him on my fantasy team. Don't worry about that. But Derek Henry, 84 and a half rushing yards against the Falcons. I'll take the left. Yeah. Without Lamar, if you do think that the Falcons are going to win, you're going to end up. I look, I'm still going to play him. You, you can still get a touchdown. And Henry is the kind of guy who can destroy this on one place. But I think the, the way that the Atlanta front is playing right now. All. Okay. I don't mind that. Well, this one's not, yeah, I mean, this one got stronger as the show went on. I'm taking Deandre Swift 68.5 rushing yards. I'm taking the more. Oh, yeah, me too. Uh, that's the, if he is active and Monanga is out that feels like a green goblin. Um, at wide receiver, I'm going with a teammate of Deandre Swift. I'm going with Roma Dunes, a who's been out there, getting it done. His receiving projection is 41 and a half receiving yards. And I will take more than that. All right. I'm going Michael Wilson. I'm going back to the well. The projection has jumped significantly since last week. But I want, look, it's the lines. We're going in 74 and a half. Oh, you're going more or I love it. Yeah. Wow. 30 targets in two weeks. It'd be weird to that stop. Why take, why take Michael Wilson when you could take his teammate, Marvin Harris. Oh, what are you doing? What are you doing? We want to wear another wig next week. If the theme of my thing is dirty, dirty, Justin Herbert, dirty, Marvin Harrison, um, not a green goblin, but 32 and a half receiving yards. Oh, I know it's not a goblin more because if it was a goblin, it would be less. Oh, man, you know, you don't have to do that, right? I did it. Okay. Uh, are we? So tight ends. I'm going with Mike's start of the week. Isaiah likely. Okay. Uh, his projection is same as Rome 41 and a half receiving yards. I will take more on that line. It's great matchup. And we're going for it, man. We're right. You want to talk dirty about dirty Greg D. Greg Doltz is against the bangles. Let's see if we can keep working. 25 and a half receiving yards. We're going for it, baby. Greg D all the way. Uh, ironically, my, my tight end also has a 25 and a half receiving yard line that I'm taking the moron. It's Tyler Higby. I'm taking, I'm taking Tyler Higby more than I'm all more. Look at us. How positive we are this week. All the more except one. I have one less. I have one.
