Fantasy Football - Week 3 Waivers + Someone to Blame - Podcast for 9/22

The Fantasy Footballers podcast discusses a week marked by significant injuries and roster instability, particularly affecting the New York Giants. Jackson Dart's MCL injury and Malik Neighbors' shoulder issue disrupted the Giants' offense, while the team struggled to maintain consistency, resulting in a historically low points total in the fantasy league. The hosts analyze waiver wire opportunities, with Denzel Boston emerging as a top wide receiver pickup due to his strong performance, high target share, and rookie potential. Quarterbacks like Tyler Schuck and Bryce Young are highlighted as breakout streams, with Schuck gaining traction after defensive injuries and Young showing elite passing efficiency. Tight ends such as Aronde Gadsden and Darren Waller are seen as valuable due to increased snaps and targeted opportunities. The hosts also note recurring injury patterns among key players, including Alec Pierce and Keon Coleman, advising caution in roster decisions. The Rams’ defensive dominance and the Giants’ injuries underscore the need for adaptive fantasy strategies. Overall, the episode emphasizes that injuries are a constant in fantasy football, and success hinges on flexibility, real-time updates, and smart, injury-aware roster management.

[MUSIC PLAYING] Are your engines folks time to go for a ride? Well, come on. To the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. [MUSIC PLAYING] Ah, well, welcome in. Tuesday, September 22nd, Mike, the fantasy hitman, Jason Moore. I'm Andy Holloway. Welcome in. I know the dates. You do know the date? Ah, you just said it like you were telling me what date is. You knew the date already? You pay attention to that sort of thing? I knew it was Tuesday. Yeah, I mean, we don't pay attention to the date. Nope. We know it's waiver day. That's what we know. We're going to talk about waivers. We're going to talk about the fact that Jason and I were facing each other in the listener league. Oh, she's doing that. And he needed-- I'm going to write it. You dirty dog. I haven't write in. And Jason just needed 40 points out. Did you know this? He just needed 40 points. I did. And he had-- I thought it was over. I genuinely-- Before the game. It was. Yes, Ray Mourning. Yes, Ray Mourning. I was like, oh, I lost you in listener. And you're like, no, not necessarily. I'm like, I need 40 points-- Yeah. --from two places. To Vonte Adams. To Vonte Adams and-- Jackson, though? Jackson, Dart. And I'm like, OK, that's doable. If Jackson, Dart gets 25 and to Vonte Adams gets 15. Now to Vonte Adams got, like, what, 35 points? To Vonte Adams got 35 fantasy points. Did you win? No. That was just unfair. Sometimes you just have to laugh. Yeah. And things work out. I mean, I laughed to stop from crying. I mean, we are losing quarterbacks by the second. Jackson, Dart-- Oh, man. --goes down with an MCL spraying the report later in the game was that he-- I mean, he was on the sidelines. And he wanted to come back in the game. It doesn't seem like it's going to be some season here with me. He just saw what happened to Caleb yesterday. Right. He's like, I'm not doing that. I'm just like, tell them I'm-- I want it back in. Yeah, the other guy was like, do you want a towel? He's like, no, get that towel away from me. It's the full-- hold me back. Guys, hold me back. Hold me back. I'm going to fight that guy. Oh, his PR team was calling the-- Let him know. Let him know he wanted to go back in. Well, I mean, what do we-- we have, like, 70 snaps all time with, like, neighbors in Dart on the field, and we just can't get these guys. Like, neighbors got hurt. Shoulder injury popped out of place, popped back into place. That'll be a situation to monitor. The early report on Jackson Dart, left MCL injury. MRI today. Gonna miss some time. Giants need to-- some sort of cleansing. There is dark spirits in that room. I mean, I felt so bad. Can you imagine this? When was the last one in the finals? No, because it started last year. But here's the thing. I don't remember the last time that if I was a Giants fan, I would be as excited as I was-- I would say five minutes before this game. Like, you had the hope-- Well, the Eagles game. Last year, the Thursday night football, the upside of the Eagles was like, that's when everything energy changed. Sure, but then, you know, when you lost neighbors and you lost Cam scataboo coming back this year, you're like, we have this trio of young, exciting players. You got Brian Burns. You got-- you've got a core, but will it work out? Is Dart good? Is scataboo healthy? Is Malik neighbor's going to be back week one? And week one comes around and you're like, this is-- it's happening. Oh, week two, we're in prime time. Right off the bat. Right to jail, it's just like-- I mean, your hope is gone. Yeah, 28 to 6. We didn't get pukin' a koa. He was out, so Devanta Adams just went for 8 for 195 and 2. Apparently, he's still good. Yeah, that got settled. The worries about week one, also a goal-line opportunity. I did not think week one was prescriptive. Did you see Shamaek Bay come out and say, yeah, what he said about their schedule plans? He's like, or maybe like in week one, you have a dumb, something coach that just messes up your team's schedule. Terrence Ferguson filled in. That was the-- Jason! Hey! 6 for 54 and a touch day, huh? I had picked him up and-- Well, I drafted him all across the world. All across the nation. And then I dropped him after week one everywhere. And then I picked him back up everywhere. And in one week, I felt really dumb because I dropped Travis Kelsey to pick him up. And I feel a little bit OK now. I mean, I-- You know, one week, TBD bit. Yeah, but no pukka. The leading receiver in the NFL helped-- It feels a little Jake Ferguson-esque. Kyron Williams and Blake Korum were almost identical. 12 carries each. 85 yards for Kyron, 79 for Korum. And both had a role in the receiving game. Kyron caught a receiving touchdown. On the other side, it pretty much went haywire when Jackson Dart went out. James Winston was, mmm, bad. 11 for 27 coming in. Unable to move the football. Malig neighbors, one catch for one yard. And that's one hurt shoulder. Yeah, it was apparently a popped out. He popped it back in and didn't want to leave the game because they had lost Jackson Dart already. Did seem like he left the game for the rest of the game. Not mayor. Remember, you asked me if I wanted neighbors or CDLAM after week one? Yeah. And it was a very seemingly easy-- like, ah, seems like the neighbors side might be better. Maybe neighbor. No. One week at a time, people. Yeah, one week at a time. I mean, you have to-- the amount of injuries we underwent this week. You have to remember that this is normal. Yeah. And your team, if you survive, which the league median in our league of record was in all time low. It was like 91 points this week. So most teams didn't score a lot of points. Yes. Well, that's I'm very unfortunate for them. That is partially true. In our league, it was a little bit more top-heavy. Yeah, I think it was accelerated by one team scoring. 215 points the all-time highest score ever in our league without having a tight end, basically. Yeah, it's got you and your disgusting face. Yeah, I mean, if I-- Oh, boy, I'm winning. I'm winning week one and two, boys. You have? You won the both? I mean, I have 100 more points than Mike. And Mike is second in the league and is 4 and 0 in two weeks. But it doesn't matter because it's week two. You got to hope you can survive. And it was fun. I had no stress this week. I mean, it was a good time, but a long season. The game, as we start to gather data, sure looks like even worse for Dallas of their defense not being fixed. The Rams are going to be-- they're perfectly fine. Their defense is going to be unbelievable. The problem, it was in the trenches. The Rams, the defensive line, just would go right through. The Giants could not protect whoever was the quarterback. You can look at Jamis and go, man, those numbers are horrible. Jamis Winston was just under duress all the time. This was not-- Jamis is a backup quarterback. We love him because he's fun. He's a goofy guy. He generally comes in and just doesn't care. And he gives you fantasy points. But there was nothing he could do. And this team did not have Miles Garrett. I know. Week one was the holy crap. Maybe the Rams are the super team that fails. I think they're going to be just fine. Well, having the lockdown corners that they have and then adding Miles Garrett to the mix, it's unbelievable what they're going to be able to do. Going to be undue. A nightmare for other teams. And for your fantasy teams. Yeah, I don't know what you're going to do. Is you just going to see handoffs and screen games against the Rams? I don't know. They're going to have to figure it out. And then they protected Stafford. Like Stafford sat back in the pocket and just picked people apart. It was awesome. 327 and four. Yeah. It was a bounce back week, for sure. Let's talk some news. [MUSIC PLAYING] News and notes from around the league. Well, the Falcons have named Michael Penix Jr. as their starter for week three against the Packers. It'll be Thursday night. So we get to watch the Falcons in prime time. Hi, hooray. Hooray? Hooray. Yeah. Did I'm genuinely so happy that Michael Penix is playing? Like, this is the way to do it. This is the way now Michael Penix is riding in on a white stallion, just to rescue the Falcons. He designed Michael Penix. Is it going to look very good in Green Bay on Thursday night? It's going to look so much better than Cooper Rush. It can look bad and better, which is awesome. Well, in Drake London, now you can look at as an option. Yeah, Kyle Pits and Drake London. Now you're at the very least, like whatever you drafted, whatever you hoped or thought in your draft. Now you get to find out. That's it. Now you get to at least have a chance of whatever you thought when you drafted them, then maybe it is. Because the first two weeks, we've said it, you have to throw that in the garbage. Cooper Rush was objectively not an NFL quarterback. He was a third string. Yeah. I mean, objectively he was. Well, because he played, he played NFL quarterback, objectively not play, starting NFL quarterback quality. Sure. Like his little name placard. It says quarterback with a asterisk. It's not. It's not. Kyler Murray Cleared Concussion Protocol will start in week three against the Buccaneers. Are you adding Kyler anywhere? I think so. I think he is. He was almost my stream of the way. he would have been my number two to go with. I know it's Kyler and he's not that great. - Didn't change your stream, sir. - Yeah, I told you you could go with Kyler. - No, the one that you had. - Well, it's the best one, so I-- - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - But Kyler this week, he's coming off a kick cushion, which is-- - Larpin over here. - Historically, that's not going to impact production, like coming off of an ankle injury or something like that. - No, his talent can impact that, for sure. But he's going on the road to Tampa Bay. And so, I mean, we just saw Dishon Watson be okay against the buck in here. So, you know, you could do worse on the waiver wire. - Ben Johnson said Kyler Williams would be considered weak to weak with the hamstring injury. He is month to month with the meme. - Tom Ant. - Mike McDonald said quarterback Sam Darnel's on track to practice this week, whether he returns this week is yet to be determined. I had heard weak four. This would be weak three. We'll see what happens. Your boy, Tom Pelicero reporting the JK Dobbins is good. - Yeah, no, he's good. - That's a weak two's injury scare against the Jags. Definitely good. - He's good. - Zay Flowers has a good shot to play in week three against the Cowboys, Mike. - We'll take that. - Welcome back, Zaymond. - That sounded like the plan from before is kind of like rest a week, give him some extra time and come back, but what a nice matchup. - 'Cause they're like, guys, it's the Saints. No problem. Flowers rest up one week. We'll get this job, we'll get you back. Oops. - Maybe you should have just gone snap camp. You know, like have him active and be like, we're just gonna put him out there for four or five plus, we're gonna need 45 plays. - Mike Evans will have to be managed this week, said Kyle Shanahan. Andy Holloway hinted he'll have to be managed this year. - Yeah. Yeah, that's true. - That is, I mean, unfortunately, Mike Evans is awesome and injury prone. So, you know, we expected this to be a bit of a bumpy ride and when he's active, you should be happy about it, but didn't have a huge week and then hurt himself. - He's made of older, laughy, taffy now. You know, it's like, if you pull it, if you pull it, it's gonna break and that's unfortunate. - And then you know meat. Alec Pierce will attempt to rehab his heel and ankle to avoid surgery. I don't think it's gonna go well. He had a hard time coming back from the surgery, likely to be placed on IR. They hope he can come back later in the season, but at any moment you could find out he underwent surgery. - Correct, and I think that this is a player that I would drop. I mean, if I've got a completely empty IR spot, if I've got a completely empty IR spot, okay, throw him there, there's no reason to drop someone when you can hold on to him for free. If not, I would not roster him for the next month, hoping that he doesn't get surgery, hoping that he's back one month from now, then not knowing, is he gonna reactivate it when he's back? I'm not gonna be able to play him right when he's back, for sure, there's no way. - I'm 100% with you. You don't have room on the bench to mess around with the white apps of later in the season for Alec Pierce. It really feels like this guy is going to not be himself until next year. The Raiders, Kubiak said Brock Bowers will practice this week. I think there's an expectation. - Or will he, Kubiak? - Oh, you don't believe anything, he says? - No, 'cause he's a liar, but he is a liar. - He is an absolute liar. - There's a pair of pants that are on fire. - Yeah, and they're in Las Vegas. - Colts, probably more than one pair of pants on fire in Las Vegas. - Professor, what are you saying? - Oh, I'm saying. - Very true, in a number of ways. - We will defend the honor of Las Vegas. - The cold sign former Giants wide receiver, Darius Slayton. This is actually a great fit for this team. A competent wide receiver with a history with Daniel Jones that can substitute and be Alec Pierce light in this offense. They needed somebody. - They needed Al 9-Mitchell. - I need it. - Also Slayton probably gets to hang up on the Giants. Like if Malik neighbors has hurt, I would imagine they'd be like, Slayton. - Slayton? - He's like, I got a new team. You leave me alone. - Charlie Collar and David Najoku have been placed on IR for the Chargers who also lost an offensive lineman and defensive lineman. That means that a Ronde gas in junior will be the Titan 1 for this team starting in week three. We'll be talking about them on the waiver show today. And then why not Dallas Goddard? He's gonna miss a few weeks with a sprained MCL. They signed Zachary Erts. Mike's favorite Titan of all time. - Wow. - Because Eli Stowers couldn't possibly be expected to come in and play a role. - Well, he's on the IR so he can't be expected to come in and play yet. But that's a shame. That's a shame that we all know he's not on the IR for an injury. - Correct. - But it just rules a rules. He's got to miss four games now. - I mean, he was, who second round? - Second round, yeah. - Highly drafted and highly disappointing. - And these are the same guys that went, they passed on Justin Jefferson. - Yes. - Is that that for, correct. - Oh, for Rager. - Yeah. - Jalen Rager. - Oh, they did scoop up Makai Lemon, maybe. - Oh. - Yeah, I know, but the guy with, like, but they generally make good decisions. - They do usually. They've got a couple whiffs and they could have a couple more here. - All right, we'll take a break and we'll jump into the waiver wire. (upbeat music) - Let's do it. (upbeat music) - Waiver wire, presented by T-Mobile. (upbeat music) - Wasn't there a moment this week where, you know, when the games were going on and we were watching the players that we thought maybe it'd be like a really good waiver wire week? - I don't think this is a very bad waiver wire week. It's certainly better than week one. - Well, let's start at the running back position, Jason. Who are your top names, Mike? Where are you guys looking? - Yeah, I mean, I think that the hot name right now is gonna be Jonah Coleman. I'm a little cautious about it. Here's why we love Jonah Coleman. First of all, we loved the three of us all. - Denver Broncos, Rookie. - Denver Broncos, Rookie running back, who was, at least Mike and I, is number two running back in Rookie Ranking's prior to the draft. I think he's very talented. Then he got the opportunity in the fourth quarter. JK Dobbins gets injured late in the third. RJ Harvey was not in the game. And Jonah Coleman went out there. The team was down when he basically got in there. They went and won in the fourth quarter with Jonah Coleman playing the majority of snaps, getting the majority of reps. He had a nice touchdown that was, you know, on him. He had a great veteran move where he's, you know, he breaks to the outside, gets the first down and then slides and bounds. You know, Sean Payton's gonna be like, hot and bothered by that. They win the game. And so he really showed out. He showed out in the offseason program to the tune where in preseason, they pulled him quickly and Payton was like, we've seen enough. This guy's good. So everything says this talented player who just did great things and is behind two injured running backs, that's a good pick up. The cold water I would throw on it is, we just talked about JK Dobbins. Apparently his hamstring is good. According to Pelizarro, so he should be back. RJ Harvey might be back. And while RJ Harvey was missing this game. Now Jonah Coleman earned more work. But when we went into this game, RJ Harvey wasn't there. And RJ Harvey, or Jonah Coleman, barely played the first three quarters. I mean, it was JK Dobbins. And I thought it would be like, I thought Coleman would at least play the RJ Harvey role. Tyler per day. Yeah, he really didn't. Now, once JK Dobbins went down, Jonah Coleman very much out snapped a bidet in the fourth quarter and was special. So I don't know. What are you guys bidding on a player like that in that situation? I'm not going overly hard in the paint, but this is a situation that could develop over the next couple of weeks. The offseason, I felt like the largest threat to JK Dobbins was not RJ Harvey. It was Jonah Coleman. But he needs a, he needs the door to open for him to show on an NFL Sunday that he can be the guy. I didn't necessarily find myself convinced that he, I mean, he played well, but I don't think there was something that I saw that was like, oh, guy, gosh, I took over the entire back. The thing for Coleman though is like, he's a very versatile running, but he's a three down guy where, you know, JK Dobbins for the Denver Broncos, not really used in the passing game. They know that when defense is no one, Harvey's on the field, you're probably going to throw. So I don't know if Peyton desires to have that running back where he can put him on the field and the defense has to, at least take a split second to really understand what type of offensive play is going to happen. If Dobbins is back, I think he goes right back into being the guy. This is a situation though of JK Dobbins hurt all the time. Hurt last week, yes, he's good to go now, but it's not picking up Coleman to play him. I'm picking up Coleman right now of in the event, maybe next week, all this now, it's like, oh crap, Coleman's a full fab dump. Because I don't want to get out for the years or something. I just, I want to get ahead of it. Yeah, I'm more on Jason's side. I'm only spending a few bucks. I'm not going to have a few bucks of fab. Yeah, the one I had Dobbins, I would, I would make it a priority. Yeah, that makes sense. Also, we have to be honest that I mean, Dobbins can't stay healthy. Yeah, I know, you know, the injury prone label gets, you know, talked about like, oh, that's not a real thing. He invented it. You can't do this real thing. I'm actually, so I remember over the last couple of years, all the online docs hating the injury prone label. I'm, I'm so convinced I'm doing a study soon in the next couple of months because I feel like it's absolutely a thing. There's, I'm just saying there's a couple guys. That you could say that yeah, and maybe the data will we'll say that it's wrong, but I, I feel like future injuries, one of the best predictors might be past injuries. Yeah, but it's just like depends on the type. I think there's a lot of nuance to it. Yeah. Yeah. Like 14 break in your fibula or like constantly pulling your hamstring. I mean, those are ones of like biological problem. Yeah. Jordan Tyson absolutely has a hamstring problem. Yeah. Mike Evans hamstring problem. Will. Nico has had repeated issues in his journey and cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals fell in the draft, not because of how good he is, but because teams were worried about his medicals, got hurt last year. Got hurt this year. It's like, but I was, my counterpart was like Matt Forte was injury prone until he was at Frank Gore. Keenan Allen was. Keenan Allen was injury prone. Yeah. And now he's going to go down in the hall of fame with some of the most recent number three. We're hoping players like Christian Watson changes in their training, establish them to be, you know, more healthy. To be honest, if I was, I don't think the running back names are pickup and start guys. No, they're not. No, they're not. Other than potentially Emanuel Wilson, because of the fact that I don't think that George Salami situation is ever going to happen. And I think Jadarian prices, shoulder injury and fumble could cause the team to say, hey, let's ride the hot hand. Emanuel Wilson, 21 for 92, probably sees more snaps. Oh, the Hollani hive is just wrecked right now. We're all four of them. There was a loud and shambles. Yeah. There's a loud group. And I just. I was like, there's no way. Yeah. No, it was a manual Wilson. Yes. I think Emmett Johnson is the best addition, yes, to hold 100,000 percent because you, here's the thing is, like, Jonah Coleman is, is a great player. But you saw it this past weekend. He played 40% of snaps when there was no dobbins and no Harvey. And then Tyler Badeg gets worked in and I've been annoyed by patents use of the running back rotation anyways. If the formerly injury prone occasionally, I mean, he's going to be getting a big workload. If Kenneth Walker goes down, I think we've seen enough from Emmett Johnson already to say he would be, first of all, he'd get all the work. Yeah. Second of all, he looks really good. He looks great. And third, it's an offense. I trust right now. So to me, like, he's 36% rostered. So I'm bringing it up because it's like, okay, maybe he's rostered in some of your leagues. But if you have Ken Walker, he's a must at, like a must at now, not later when he's, you know, full fab dump because Ken Walker goes down for a week, add him now. There's a chance, Andy Reed came out this morning and said, you know, we're going to give him more work. We don't want Ken Walker to have to have this level of a workload. So to me, he's kind of my number one of the list. He has an absolute must be rostered in 100% of leagues. I think he could possibly develop into a player that you could start, you know, as like in a double flex. For instance, this week, right, they're playing the Dolphins, I believe is the matchup. So it's like, you're telling me when the chiefs are up, how much is Walker playing in the fourth quarter of that game genuinely? Like how many touchdowns is, is Emma going to get in the fourth quarter? Probably one. So, Emmett should be rostered and the Sequan Barkley's injury. We still need more information like he was, we got the news two days ago. He was going to get an MRI for on his neck for the stinger. Is everything okay? Will Sequan Barkley, I know he went back in the game, but if he has, like, if he has an injury two, his neck that needs some time off, then tank Bigsby and Will Shipley will work themselves in as well. By the way, real quick sidebar injury update. I just want to mention this because it was, it came out earlier this hour, just that Sean McVey is not sure if Book and Akua is going to play in week three right now. Oh, really? It's definitely up for grabs right now. It came out yesterday off air. The Andy believes that there's a chance any minute we hear about a, uh, hernia surgery. I'm just worried about sports, hernia when I start to hear, like, when I hear multiple reports, well, here's the problem, some hip is the big report, but then like Sean McVey says groin and you start getting into that sports, hernia, abdomen area where I just, look, it's not reporting. It's just right on the wall. Yeah. It's just like what's going on? Like, maybe, maybe it's the hip because he compensated for something in training camp. I do not know, but there's another player that has had frequent injury problems. Apparently, Devonte Adams is capable of getting the number one. Yeah. He's okay. He's okay. And we said throughout that week one, Australia game and turns out, yes, that was, they were just tired. Yeah. They were, they were tired from flying a minute ago, um, back to the Kenneth Walker. Emmett, uh, conversation, oh, okay, go ahead. So I just was looking at this up because I know Kenneth Walker's been a absolute bell cow beast the first two weeks. He's on pace for five hundred and thirty five opportunities. That is, that is important enough that is bone bros now to the Saquon Barkley backup situation because Saquon dealt with a stinger before and missed games and he, he's going to get more a second look at this. He came back at the game and so it's like, okay, maybe, um, it's not a big deal, uh, or maybe he misses time. If he misses time, there's going to be a big debate. And I think right now there's going to be an over mad rush to the waiver wire for, uh, think Bigs B and Will Shipley, here's how it worked. Tank Bigs B did not get all the work. I thought that if Saquon went down, Tank gets the role and will be a league winner. That was not the case. Basically what happened is Tank got the rushing work and Shipley got the passing work. Uh, they, they kind of were the exact inverse on routes versus snaps, because Big B's, Bigs B's still got a couple targets. Yes. He got routes. We're going to ship the routes and the snaps. Okay. We're sharing them. Obviously that, I mean, it's so funny, I was going to say you don't expect over the last couple of years, the Eagles to be in the down situations where they're going to see Titans. But then there's like, if they're down to the Titans, who, so anyways, I think it's a split. If I have to pick, if I have to pick one of those two, it would be Bigs B because I don't expect them to be in that level of passing situation going forward and the touchdown upside is going to be on, uh, with Bigs B. So I mean, that was a lot of names that are not really startable assets. Would you drop Jonathan Brooks or Kenny Gainwell right now to pick up any of those names? Kenny Gainwell, I would drop who, by the way, two, two, two fantasy points in three. Yeah. Kenny Gainwell. That situation feels like it's shaking out. That Bucky Irving is just, he's going to be the man. One A one B is nonsense. It's, it's Bucky. Um, what a pick, Jay. And then. Thank you. Did your clairvoyance there right, right before your draft pick of knowing what was going to happen? I saw the future. Got one of those magic. On the clock, uh, Brooks is hard because of, uh, do we have any more injury update? I think that, uh, he's going to rehab. Um, it was week to week growing injury. I would, I would, it's just hard to see him going. I would. Yeah, I guess I'm willing to move on from him. I, I, our spot, hopefully, tuck him in the out, that would be great if you've got it. Um, it's, it's a tough situation. I think he is not, certainly not a must drop and certainly a can drop because if he was on waivers, just depends on my roster, I would, I would be willing to pick him up. Right. When does Chuba get respect? Never. Never. I mean, he should. A couple of years ago, he got respect and he got a big payday. Well, by them, but I don't think by the fantasy community ever, he got it from you. Do you, do you realize that? Yeah, from me. Yeah. Yeah. Chuba, however, RB Tannen, RB 11 through two weeks. Yes. He has, he has played very well. Well, he has a, he has a, he has a. The panthers touched down in both weeks and the panthers are cooking. It's not just the, like, oh, respect to it's the panthers are, this is a, this is a, this is a team reborn price young, like price young looks like an actual legit quarterback. We're going to talk about him. Wide receivers, guys, to me, it's Denzel Boston, Cleveland wide receiver has looked the part through two weeks, 42% rostered, went five for 95 and a touchdown. He's my number one pickup. Of the week or a wide receiver. Wide receiver. Okay. And actually, let me, let me see. I think that might be, he might be number one overall. Yeah. I think that in last year, the, like, the Jacob Dobbins manager, then it's Coleman. But yeah, I think Denzel Boston's my number one pickup because he's got everything that you want. You know, he's got the snap counts. Not everything. Maybe quarterback. He did this week. One of the highest rated passers in the game this week, yeah, this week. Do you believe he has the quarterback you want? I'm just saying. The quarterback I won. You said he doesn't have everything you want. I'm just using your words. He's trying to get a sandwich. I just want you to say that you love the show. You got a quarterback. I hate. Okay. There we go. Denzel Boston, though, young, highly drafted, big physical touchdown threat, which, look, if you have a quarterback, you don't love. You want somebody that's going to get into the in zone. I don't need, like, like, frankly, conception on right now is running around, like, Chimray DK and Tennessee. Denzel's rookie year. I want the guy that's got the big playability that they take a shot to that can break a tackle. And he's in elite company right now, rookie wide receivers since 2000 with 90 plus percent of snaps and a touchdown in their first two games. He was a book and Boston. That's it. He was a touchdown machine in college. That was like his, I feel like his superpower and so far, it's translated to the NFL. Do you guys disagree? Is there a better? No. I do. My number two wide receiver personally, I have done TV and wicks above them simply because with the Dallas gotter injury, I mean, we've seen, I think the better team, the better quarterback. He's on the field a lot. He's yards per outrun or outrageous. Yeah, he can go deep down field and get a bomb touchdown, the way that Denzel Boston can. Or he can, you know, last week it was five for 74. He's playing the snaps, running the routes on a better offense for a better quarterback and the targets should be perhaps going up without Goddard. So I would put Wix then Boston, but certainly those two are in a tear of their own from the other White receivers. So Wix snaps did go down. I mean, the opportunities were still there. That's so interesting of what they did between week one and two. They had to get Cooper. Yeah, why I'm in on the Boston side is because this isn't out of nowhere. He's a, he is a second round rookie. When rookies produce, we want to be aggressive, we want to go after them just in case like they're a star. Special guys just show up and he has a preseason. Yeah, and that's exactly that. The pre in during the training camp of preseason period, his drum beat was very steady and very loud. Like you had some beat reporters saying, I think Denzel Boston might end up as the number one wide receiver on this team, which felt like, like just absolute blasphemy because they drafted KC Concepcion, who was the seemed like the better prospect who was drafted in the first round. So I'm on Andy side here of the team environment, obviously much, much better for Don Tavion Wicks. But young player breaking out after his break, I was predicted by their media, I would be decently aggressive going after Boston. I don't, I don't mind it at all. If you want to take Boston for the high upside, I certainly think Boston has a higher ceiling case than Don Tavion Wicks. Do you believe that there's any chance that D'Shaum Watson continues to ascend or approve? I do not. I would find that doubtful. Yeah, it's hard because he's a player that played at a level that was so outrageous at one point that you're like, like maybe the answer is like you get the Russell Wilson post Seattle version of D'Shaum Watson, which that's what Cleveland has received to have received. Other names like, do you, do you have interest in Keon Coleman at all? Yeah, I mean, we don't know the DJ more injury for sure, whether he'll be out there or not, but he looked. You mean just for this week? Yeah, yeah, I think he's back and he'll be back soon. Yes, this is not, I don't think Keon Coleman is a rest of season great play. You know, Rashad Bateman, these type of guys, Keon Coleman, Bateman is like, what are the starters? Is a flower's plan is DJ more plan? If they're out, these are break glass in case of emergency, you can start them in your league. How about some respect for trade Tucker? Yeah, it's gonna, trade Tucker was an aim I would bring up. He's, he's my number two right now. Kirk Cousins is playing very good football. It's Kirk and, it, Kirk O'Chains is like that. Yeah, it wasn't your best. It's like cooking in Kirk and but it sounds, it sounds dirty. Sounds a little weird. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We're moving on, sounds weird. But it's like, trade Tucker has actual staying power. He's flashed from time to time. And if he gets really consistent quarterback play, do you remember him in week three of last year? Yeah. Was that like the multi touchdown game? Three, three touchdowns and 145 VRG. He has two or three of these games a year, but we have seen him for now, four years. So chasing trade Tucker, that's tough. That is really tough. For a week to week base. When, when we had the fancy time machine, it was like, I went team by team and it was the Raiders. It was like, this is an environment where a wide receiver can pop off. I ended up going Jack Bash simply because trade Tucker, we've seen like, we've seen him pop off and then disappear. I didn't know if he was reliable enough or, you know, Jalen Ailer, the matchup against New Orleans this week. I expect a fast pace of pay, a lot of fast play. Thank you. Place of play. No, no, no, no. Hold on, I'm going to try this out. I'm going to give you a little more time in the game. All right, it's Kirk and it's a fast pace of play in New Orleans. And so I expect a lot of points scored. I'm fine taking a shot on trade Tucker, but if you told me after the game, it was Jalen Ailer or Jack Bash. Sure. You know, it's like, okay, yeah. Well, Bowers is returning. Yeah, well, yeah, sure, sure. And then, you know, there's a chance that Caleb Douglas misses time for Miami. If you care about Malik Washington or Christian. You got to get gross. I felt only had 41% of snaps. It's definitely Washington over him right now. Yes. See, I buy the by the Denzel Boston argument. I would still probably rather roster Chris Bell. Just for the upside. Yeah, but if you had to start one this week. If I had to start one, yeah, Malik Washington. And then Darius Slayton, do you care about adding him after the? Yeah. Honestly, the biggest name of all the other names that I think is actually near the top of my list. Can I guess it? Yeah. It's Ad9 Mitchell. Yes. That's a good name. I like Ad9 Mitchell. I've said this before. 12 target. 6 for 63. The passing volume in the offense that you talked about getting from Geno Smith, a team that I think frequently will be playing on the Jets. He's on the Jets. He's going to be playing on the road in Detroit, which is they lost more cores. He gets the deep opportunities as well. And he's going to connect on some of those. So for me, Ad9 Mitchell is actually one of the sneakier plays. Like I'd put him outside of Boston and Wix. I think he's my three. He's my four. Okay. Um, why don't we take a quick, oh, some drop candidates. You ready? You ready for these? Yeah. We talked about Alec Pierce. How about Juan Dale? Yeah, you can. Yeah. What about Quentin Johnson? Yeah, probably. Portland, sudden. Yeah. Uh, that's disgusting, but I don't think he's very good. What about Marvin Harrison, Jr? Jason. Let's go to Jason. See, you know what's going around right now. He's still hiding. What's going around right now is a lot of college film of Marvin Harrison, Jr. It looks so good as a slightly different level of energy. Maybe it's just because he's not running against professional DBs. I don't really know. No, it's not. It's not the DB. It's like the effort. Well, I want to kind of like balance it a little bit because I went back and watch the film this past week and there were, like, I don't know what to do here. The team has been like, okay, they're asking McVeigh or La Flore. They're like, Hey, why can't you get them some easy touches? And if you listen to his answer, he's like, well, look, it's easier said than done. Like, Tramik Bride is the best short area middle of the area receiver in the game. You have so many offensive plays, half of those are runs. It's like, do you want to just script up a screen pass and waste a down on Marvin Harrison Jr. He ran some downfield. No, he didn't. I don't know. Those are you. That was the insinuation, though, is like we have guys that do that well. Why do it with this guy who who's supposed to, you know, threaten down the field? And it was logical. It's like Kendrick born and yeah, that Kendrick Bride should be in this short area middle of the field. He's using Marv in a different way, but Marv is not putting in the effort for the type of routes that he did on some place. He did on some, but there are so many from week two as well, where it's just like he looks like he is not giving a fart. And I mean, I share any targets. I don't. It's not like he's failing on the targets. It's a bit of a like, if you never get the ball, I'm not expecting wide receivers to not be divas in that regard. He runs routes fully not expecting to get the ball. He is not out there. He's not. He's got a dog. No. No, there is a two through two weeks. We do have a leader for cat of the year. Yeah. What is what we call was the winner of that last year. I don't remember what we called the actual award. What we call it Kyle. Can't play here of the year. Something stupid. Maybe me. Yeah, me. Yeah. Okay. We're pretty good. Marv. Me. Me. I'm out of the year right now. Junior for sure right now. Yeah. We'll take a break. We'll talk Titans quarterbacks. Streams of the week. Back into the waiver wire and maybe just maybe we found a position with a few diamonds in the rough. I think it's interesting. Titans. You know, Terence Ferguson with the potential Poca Nacua update of him missing another week. And just like, there's a chance he has value that persists beyond Poocas return. Aronde Gadsden taking over as the number one, you know, tight end in Los Angeles, where by the way, the drops were outrageous from like Tray Harris and Brennan Thompson and even the Joku and those guys like you could use another target beyond Lad McConkey there. And then Darren Waller who just seems to have a nose for the in zone. Man, nothing else in two weeks, but you know, 17 yards, 33 yards, whatever it was the first two weeks. And Waller's belongs near the in the end zone, near the end zone is that just is habitat. That's the habitat. Okay. All right. Other names to add to that. I don't think that there are whatever. I mean, TJ Hawkins said has done. He's had a few plays this year. I don't think there's names you need to add beyond those three because those are three good pickups. And the order of those three to me is like, Gadsden, I think has the clearest path right now with the other two Titans injured. He had the talent. He showed him his rookie season. and he's forced onto the field. If I knew that Puka was getting a hernia surgery, Terence Ferguson would probably be my number one overall of all positions this week. I would take him over Boston, over Jonah Coleman. He is, I believe the Philan. And so I would say this, the same way that you're saying, if you had JK Dobbins, you would go out and pay a little bit more for Jonah Coleman. If I am the Puka manager, I know it doesn't fill in my wide receiver slot. But when Puka is gone, or for that matter, I found the Devonte Adams manager. I might, you know, he's older. If he were to miss time, I feel like you have a tight end who will put up wide receiver numbers in the situation where he is the number two option on that team. - Any other thoughts on tight ends, Mike? - Just, it's disgusting. It's nasty, but the muth, I mean. - You can't trust the other players to catch the football there. Most drops, right? Most drops in football. - Air Rogers is in the top five. - Yeah, in the, the matchup. - It's also in the top five players I would drop if I had them on my team. - The next four weeks, you know, Cincinnati, Cleveland, the Colts, Tampa Bay, you know. - It's, you don't really have a ceiling case here, like Darren Waller or Ferguson hitting, and probably even Gaston. But if you've been just been getting no production out of your tight end, then the muth could help you out. - Defensively, there are a couple of juggernauts available in a majority of rosters or on the majority of leagues right now. The Vikings are playing great defense. They play Tampa Miami back-to-back, and the chiefs are playing great defense and play Miami, Las Vegas back-to-back. You're going to start to, there are teams I'm targeting right now, like playing Miami is one of them, playing Tennessee, playing Atlanta, playing Washington, I think, may turn into that. - Good, I'm still fine targeting Cleveland. Show me more than one week. - Absolutely Cleveland, yes, absolutely. So those are some targets, but the Giants have Tennessee this week. Green Bay has that land on Thursday and I football. Michael Pinnix may be better than Cooper Rush, but he has no problem turning the ball over. - Right. - So I think the Green Bay defense this week is a good one, and I think that's where I'd probably leave it in terms of. - Green Bay is a really nice pickup to me, because right now they've got Atlanta, and then they've got Baker, who, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers used to look like, you know, the first half of last year and the year prior, oh, I don't want to play against them, they have not been good. And then at that point, Michael Parsons will be able to come off of IR, and that defense should get a boost. - And they might have Chicago without Caleb will see, and then it gets a little tougher after that. - And generally we focus the waiver wire on your running backs and your wide receivers. My number three pickup for the week is a quarterback. So who's gonna be talked about here? - Oh, I was gonna ask. - Why not me? - Okay, that was the waiver wire presented by T-Mobile when you're updating your roster right before kickoff. You've got coverage you can count on. Just another reason, game days are better with T-Mobile. Check it out at T-Mobile.com/membership. (upbeat music) - Bullstream ahead. (upbeat music) - Well, we'll just let Jason talk first. In terms of streaming quarterbacks, 48% roster Tyler Schuck. - Yeah, Tyler Schuck is out there. He's available in way more leagues than he should be. They are, the Saints are number one in pace of play, which is what we, this is really tough. (laughing) - You can't get going. - The pace of play is the tough one today. But that was what we expected with Kellyn Moore. He's always done this, and they're three point home favorites. This is their home opener. Right now he has been on fire. Is he leading the league in passing yards? - In passing yards, yeah. - Yeah, I mean, in NFL history, quarterbacks with 90 plus attempts, 600 plus passing yards and a 68% completion percentage through the first two weeks. 2015 Tom Brady and 2026 Tyler Schuck. He's also running the ball. I think this could be a rest of season fantasy option, and that is not what usually the full stream ahead. - I have my regrets. - I'm not dropping him. - Yeah, 'cause I dropped him when I did that trade last week, and so I lost, I picked up him at Johnson and Tucker Kraft, but I, by extension, if you trade two for one, you got to drop somebody, and I regret it. And I wish I dropped Pat Bryant. - And I picked up Tyler Schuck and I'm very happy about, two games on the road. He is currently the quarterback five. - Yeah, I mean, it's been, and what's gonna change? - He's already gonna change it. He's gonna get Jordan Tyson back. - That's exactly why I think Tyler Schuck is such an important pick up right now. Yes, in single QB, you can waver your way through. Like you can find guys off of the wire, but there is a chance with, with Jordan Tyson coming back, that Tyler Schuck gives us a truly special season. I think it, like, that's how to disagree. - This was a player for the Fucland to be aware of that was on Mike's board, for a long time as a my guy, and then when, when some of the injuries happen, then it was like, okay, he got moved to the fantasy MVP. He wasn't gonna be a my guy, but he was gonna be his fantasy MVP. And then Jordan Tyson re-aggravated the hamstring. He's like, okay, I can't do that. But this is a, not just a, oh, the last two weeks have been good. We didn't see this coming. This is a, this path was there. - So I actually have my worries about him this week against Las Vegas. I've talked about the Las Vegas pass rush. And I want to flag the fact that things are gonna get harder for Tyler Schuck because Kelvin Banks, Jr., their stellar tackle who had a fantastic rookie season. He just went out for, and he's going to IR. It's gonna be a long-term injury or a rest of season. - I don't know if it's been determined yet, but it's gonna be a long, do you have to cover him? - Do you have to cover him? - I think, I, so I didn't, I thought post COVID, they got rid of that, but then I saw a bunch of reporting that people were going on a short-term IR before the season. - He has ankle surgery. This is not gonna be short. This is gonna be a long, he's gonna be out in definitely. This is a, it was a high ankle spring, but he needs surgery for it. And so it's gonna take some time, I'm just bringing it up because the one time that we saw Tyler Schuck, Tyler Schuck had a awful first half in a week one. And the reason he did was because he was under constant pressure in the first half of that game by Aiden Hutchinson. So when you add Max Crosby in there, look, he may overcome this week. I'm just saying the Raiders through two weeks, I've liked what I've seen on the defensive side of the football and this week will be interesting, but Tyler Schuck, hopefully he can overcome the offensive line. He's got good match-ups for the most part until the by-week, so great pickup. Bryce Young, the other big name that's broken out so far. 42% rostered place Cleveland this week. Carolina is very, I mean, the story's very similar to the Tyler Schuck story. They are throwing the ball at ton. He's second in pass rate over expectation, 8.9 yards per attempt. Healthy Jalen Coker and Teteron McMillan and goal line weapon and Waller and Chuba Hubbard. Like they have some pieces, look at down the field last week. And Cleveland's defense has struggled. So we'll talk more about Carolina in general tomorrow, but that is my stream of the week. - And my stream, I'm going with the Seattle quarterback. - Yeah. - I don't care who it is. And if Sam Darnel is back from his butt injury, then fantastic, but Drew Locke is, this is a way to make that description. - He's buttered. - Okay. - Nice. - I mean, like, it's a fact, Jack. By the way, Drew Locke, the highest rated passer through two weeks in the NFL. - That's exactly the point is Drew Locke is playing well. Drew Locke knows where to butter the bread. He's like, hey, Arizona. - That JSN guy, I'ma throw him the ball. - I mean, what is Jackson's target share right now? - Oh, it's got to be darn near 50. - It's 100%. - It is 44%. - Yeah. - That's how there is a wide receiver with a 44% target share. - If you get it work, if you get to 30%, which is an outrageously high number. If you get to 30%, you are almost guaranteed to be a fantasy wide receiver one. And 44%. And how does it change? - It doesn't need to. And now he plays Washington. So that's gonna be great. - Yeah, it's wild. Would you drop Jake May? - Dude, man, that is tough. - To pick up Tyler Shaw. I know, I know, I know. - That's really hard for two weeks to let go of the preseason. - Yeah, I mean, if I have to, I don't think I'd do it. I don't think I'd do it. - If I've got one roster spot and I have no one else to drop. And I either have to start Drake May or drop him to play Tyler Shaw, I would make that transaction. Outside of that, I would roster two quarterbacks. Hopefully you've got another wide receiver, a backup running back or someone you could drop and roster both. Because I do think Bright Days are ahead for Drake May. It might be a long time. It might be until AJ Brown is back, which I expect him to miss six weeks after the first. - So Drake May plays at Jacksonville this week and then next week is @buffalo. Does that all through your. - I will say that I think both this week and next week, there will be 12 other quarterbacks I would rather start than Drake May. - They should trade for a cash on booty. - Oh, by the way, just so the world knows how much the sentiment on a player changes with another week of validation. I tried to trade Tyler Shaw to people last week. [BLANK_AUDIO] I mean, you can go over to Dooster's Alley. Every person sitting in Dooster's Alley, it got offers for Tyler Schuck. Any regrets over there? - I do. - No. - Sure do. - Matt said, "Rock parties on the waivers. "We don't need Tyler Schuck." - Well, Brian Wade. - He's good. - Yeah, he is, but Schuck's better right now. - The way you guys operate your team, I'm telling you right now. - You guys. - It is just, you do not have someone, but no one's in charge. - Someone, someone to blame. That should be your team name, someone to blame. - Yeah, it wasn't me. Every trade that goes wrong, it's the other guy that did it. - It wasn't me. - And by the way, a $1 Fab offer is what I offered Schuck to Owl over there. And he said-- - You offered it for five, I counted for two. - That's right. - Which you then declined, but then offered it back for a dollar later, and I declined that. - Yeah, yeah, I forgot that was the interaction, but I mean, I offered him to Mike last week, and-- - But these offers were taking place mid-game and we-- - That's fine. - I will say to the defense of the grumpy old trolls over there. - I don't know that I would take Schuck over Brock Purti. - Yeah, it's understandable. - They didn't get Purti either though. - Well, yeah, losers! - Oh, no! You missed that off the-- - Whose fault was that? - Who was your quarterback? - Neither of us. - Well, it was Jaden Daniels. - Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no, yeah. - So who is it now though? - Baker. - Is there a TBD? - Yeah, well Baker? - Oh, you're totally fine. - Yeah, what's the worry about it? - You're totally fine. - Right, that way. - He just got paid. - Yeah. - It's great. You can't drop that in. - Got it, Buka. - They're playing for next year anyway. - Oh, you're doing that. - You and everyone else. - Because you have the most super team we've ever seen before. And it's, yeah, there's a couple of us with some stones and we're not gonna give up. - Good. - Oh, look at you. - Good. - I love to hear it. - You can't see the path, though, can you? - It's fuzzy, but we're gonna get there. - It's a long season. - Four or five significant injuries to Andy's team. And next thing you know, he's got a chance to lose. - This'll be a fun ride. It's not, the odds I feel are still, you know, against me 'cause things can go wrong, but that's not one of the odds are against you. - Yeah. - Shut the show down. - Push that button. - It's disgusting. - Just trying to hedge it a little bit. - My team-- - My team's gonna see team like that. - That's ridiculous. Gotta win. Goodbye. (upbeat rock music) - Thank you for listening to another episode of the Fantasy Footballers podcast. Join our fantasy football community on jointhefoot.com. FAQs

Jonah Coleman is a hot name due to his strong performance in a game where JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey were injured. However, caution is advised as he may not be a consistent starter. Emmett Johnson is also a top pick due to his strong performance, potential increased workload, and status as a must-roped asset if Ken Walker is injured.

Denzel Boston is the top wide receiver pick due to his high snap count, rookie status, and proven ability to make big plays. He has a high upside and is among the elite rookie wide receivers with a touchdown in his first two games.

Yes, Tyler Schuck is a strong streaming quarterback option. He has shown excellent performance with high passing yards and completion percentage, especially with a strong matchup against a weakened offensive line. His value could increase if Jordan Tyson is sidelined.

Tight ends like Aronde Gadsden or Darren Waller are worth considering, especially with injuries to other players. Gadsden has a clear path to playing time with two injured teammates and has shown talent in his rookie season. Waller excels in in-zone opportunities and is a reliable option.

Multiple injuries—such as Jackson Dart’s MCL, Malik Neighbors’ shoulder, and Terence Ferguson’s potential return—have disrupted schedules and created opportunities. Managers should focus on players with backup roles or increased workload due to injuries, like Emmett Johnson or Denzel Boston.

Kyler Murray is expected to return from concussion protocol in week three and could provide value on the waiver wire. While his production may be impacted by a recent injury, he is considered a strong option, especially in matchups against the Buccaneers.
