It's been a busy day, and I'm ready to close it out good with you guys talking fantasy football. Definitely been a busy day on our end as well. We're happy to have you here. We're talking league winners, Erickson, and it's kind of funny because you guys both, you picked the same first choice for your league winners. Let's get right to it. You both picked Zay Flowers here. Tara, I'll start with you, actually. Why is Zay Flowers atop your list of league winners this year? It makes sense that we both picked him. I mean, when it comes to Zay Flowers, he offers one of the most unique combinations of having a super safe floor, one of the safest floors that you can ask for a wide receiver, plus being drafted outside the top 12 at receiver, and the actual potential to make a big leap and have a career year. It's just a beautiful combination of things that can happen here for him. I love many of the receivers being drafted around Zay, but they do come with like a wide variety of issues. You talk about Rasheed Rice. You've got him coming off the surgery. Question marks in terms of are the touchdowns going to come down with the addition of Kenneth Walker? You've got teams, wide receivers that are changing teams with incredibly deep receiving rooms like Jalen Waddell, shaky quarterback situations like Terador McMillan. So when it comes to Zay Flowers, he is the unquestioned first look of the season. We've seen this for two straight seasons with him, 116 targets, 118 targets on 17 games, very consistent. I love Jacoby Lane as a prospect. I think that he can push Rashad Bateman out of the way in terms of a bigger body receiver playing off of Zay Flowers, but Zay is the alpha in this offense, and we've continued to see the decline of Mark Andrews. Isaiah likely is gone. Zay can put up the numbers that he did last year despite dealing with the injuries that Lamar Jackson had. So if we get a healthy season, if Lamar Jackson plus the change in offensive coordinator to Declan Doyle, that should all benefit the Ravens in general and especially Zay Flowers. So it's just kind of the perfect recipe for elite production for him. In real time ADP, he's going 33rd overall, wide receiver 14. Some of the names around him are like just not that inspiring to you, right? Like Jeremiah Love, the ankle stuff, Brees Hall playing for the Jets, Josh Jacobs, all the suspension stuff going on in the offseason storylines. T. Higgins is wide receiver two in his offense, not Zay Flowers. Those are the guys that are around him. So it feels like an appealing click when you try and bake in some of this upside. But Erickson, we've done enough shows. What am I going to say to push back on Zay Flowers? Nothing to push back. And I mean, I need to update my take from like five minutes ago when I said I was going to take Rashi Rice over Zay Flowers and I just can't do that. So the rankings will get updated. I can't, I can't live with myself if I ever make that type of decision. Again, if I was talking league winners, I would have brought Rashi Rice up in here as a league winner, not Zay Flowers. I felt confident in it. So Zay Flowers last year, fifth in target share, 28%, 11th in area yard share, 35%, fourth in yards per route run behind Puka Nakua, Jack Smith, Jigba, and Luther Burden. Obviously that came on a smaller sample size, but I mean, he's elite with the best receivers in the game with Nakua and JSN. And the fact that the regression, I think is going to hit positive for him. Every other receiver to hit at least 1200 receiving yards last year scored eight touchdowns. Zay Flowers was the only guy that didn't hit eight touchdowns. He was also the only wide receiver last season to hit 1200 receiving yards on fewer than 120 targets. Like he's doing everything he can with every opportunity he's getting. So we're just manifesting, okay, under Declan Doyle and an offense that maybe will increase their pass attempts because the Ravens last year were dead last and pass rate over expectation. So under a new play caller, you can figure, okay, we could up the pass attempts a little bit more. We get Zay involved a little bit more in the red zone and just those little fractional gains here and there. Well, then you're looking at a player that's going to be a top five wide receiver. After what he did last year as the wide receiver seven overall through 18 weeks. So I think that he showed out a little bit with a touchdown streak to end the season of, oh yeah, this guy is really good and he's really explosive. He can score from all over the field. He was 15 points per game in full PPR over the 13 games with Lamar Jackson as his starting quarterback. The fact that he was so efficient last year and his quarterback wasn't even healthy the entire season. It just goes to show how talented this guy is. And the Ravens, a forward thinking organization, except when it comes to, signing Mark Andrews to a long-term or an extension, they got ahead of this because they know Zay Flowers is in for a big, massive season, which is why they paid him before this year, because it's going to make them look really, really smart after he has a monster campaign. I can't get there on the touchdowns. I just don't know why they're all of a sudden going. I know it's a new offensive play caller, but Zay's skill set is just, doesn't feel like it's that conducive to red zone usage and end zone targets. And I've just, I, like those, a lot of the season long stats that you're talking about, like, oh yeah, 1200 yards last year, wide receiver seven. Those are pretty heavily carried by a couple of big broken plays in Pittsburgh in that week 18 game. He would have been well under 1200 yards. If not for that performance, he obviously would have had even fewer touchdowns than he had 10 this season. He would not have finished it as wide receiver seven. Like that, that did a lot of work. And I think it's going to be touchdown wise up and down similar to last year where he had his big week one, right? 143 yards in a touchdown. And then didn't score again until week 15, even with the healthy Lamar. If we get that, even with Declan Doyle and I, and I do buy, I've seen some pushback to that, the passing point for Doyle, because he's coming from, you know, the Ben Johnson tree, who obviously is, is really excellent at designing a run game. Obviously the Ravens still have an elite running back that they believe in. So I understand some of that. I do think Doyle will throw the ball, but I, I just think it's going to get spread around and, and in the red zone, I think when plays, break down Lamar, we'll still look to guys like Mark Andrews, a, even if he's not doing so much between the twenties, even if he's having a down year, even if he's cooked, I think when plays break down, that's where he's going to look less than Zay when they're in close. And I just get like, I, I, I guess what I'll say is this. I need to see it to believe it on the touchdowns. I think it's, it's very fun to project it out. I hope it happens. I think he's a wonderful player who's deserving of the contract. Like I had to fight a lot of people with that take, you know, as a Ravens fan, very, very good player. I just don't know if the touchdowns are going to come back. Erickson. I will almost want to make the bet with you that I think Mark Andrews will score more touchdowns this year. I found the house mortgage that I'm willing to bet on him scoring more touchdowns than Mark Andrews. I think Mark Andrews is cooked. And again, to your point about changing up the red zone offense, the red zone offense was not good last year for the Ravens. It was one of the worst. Maybe it's because they didn't give their number one wide receiver more opportunities around the red zone. And the other thing to point out too, is they also has the ability to score from outside the red zone. Like you are allowed to do that. And if you look at JSN and his season last year in the same thing with Puka Nakua, neither of those guys were like these monster red zone player. I mean, Puka was second behind Devante Adams. He was coaching all these touchdowns. Yeah. Puka was destroying in fantasy football because he was efficient and he was a target hog and was explosive. Three things that Zay flowers is. So even if he doesn't get the red zone usage that we want, he can still score a lot of touchdowns, build up a lot of explosive, plays. I think that he's got 1500 receiving yards again, as a player that every single year it's gotten better and better and better year four is going to be the best. Tara. I'm totally with you guys on the catches. I'm totally with you guys in the yards. What do you think the ceiling is on the touchdowns? Cause, cause that is really, is really all it comes down to. If the touchdowns are there, you guys are going to be super correct on this. So I'll split the difference between you guys. I do think you are correct more in that there is a chance, a good chance that Andrews is still going to have more touchdowns than Zay flowers. I think we're going to get a bomb, a bump to 10, 11. I feel like that's a little extra. I want to get them to around eight and I'll feel good, but we've talked about the fact that Mark Andrews is, is in fact cooked. So if he just becomes a factor that they use as a big body in the red zone, that increases, we're only going to see them decrease in terms of the overall receptions and yardage that he can provide between outside of the twenties. Right? So if we're looking at the targets that he has had consistently, I see enough of a massive leap in terms of the targets. So increase past volume, new offense, healthy Lamar Jackson, get that volume up there again. He's got a 29% target share. So we know it's there. We just need to see just a little bit more consistent volume pushed in this offense from a past perspective with a healthy Lamar Jackson. So I don't know if the touchdowns are going to get to ultimately where we would love them to get, but I think it's going to counteract in terms of a massive increase in targets with a better, more cohesive offense pushing forward. When I think about like, Oh, Rashad Bateman, maybe he's going to have some, some sort of suspension stuff with the off field, you know, news that came out recently. When I think about, you know, Jacoby lane is still a day to rookie same with Elijah Surratt. You know, if Mark Andrews really is cooked and the rookie tight ends aren't able to step up when I hear all that, instead of thinking, Oh, is a flower is going to catch a lot of touchdowns. I think Derek Henry should be going in the first round and it's going to get like another 20 this year. Cause I think they will move the ball well, and then he'll have the opportunities in close. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. Cause I love to say flowers and I'd love to see him get his flowers. No pun intended a lot more. We went a little longer on him because you guys both picked them. Jonathan Brooks, running back for the Carolina Panthers, has not really played since being drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he is finally fully healthy entering his third season. And I think that he's going to be the lead back for the Carolina Panthers. And that role in the Dave Canales offense has been very fruitful for fantasy football. If you look at the last three RB1s under Canales, they have all smashed their ADPs and finished as top 20 fantasy football running backs. Rashad White, RB7, Shuba Hubbard, RB15, Enrico Dauda last year, RB17. So all throughout the offseason, the constant drumbeat for Jonathan Brooks has been this team wants him to take over as the RB1 in this backfield. And I think everything has kind of worked in his favor. He has stayed healthy. He has looked good in the training camp and in the preseason games. He's been catching the ball out of the backfield. He's being targeted out of the backfield. And Shuba Hubbard is dealing with an injury, a hamstring injury, which he's trying to come back for week one. What happens when these players come back too soon with these soft tissue injuries? They get injured and banged up again. So I don't think that Shuba Hubbard is in a lock to come back in week one. And with Jonathan Brooks slated to play the Chicago Bears, I think that he can cement himself as no, this is my job. I'm the RB1. They invested me. They drafted me the second round for a reason. And I think we're going to expect to see a breakout performance in season for a player like Jonathan Brooks. He goes in the middle rounds. Obviously his ADP has risen significantly since a few months ago when he was going behind Shuba Hubbard. But I think that he's going to be the guy in this backfield. He's going to be the guy that's going to be the guy that's going to be the guy in this backfield. And I think that what separates him is the pass catching. That's something that he did a lot at Texas. And although it's a really small sample size of his NFL and preseason career, he's a 27% target rate in those games. So when he has been on the field in this offense, they've been throwing in the football. I think that's something that you always want to look at when it comes to running backs and fantasy. How do they level up, make those massive jumps is how are they used in the passing game? And I think that Jonathan Brooks, again, only 23 years old, he's young. He's got youth on his side, which is why I think he's going to be the guy that which is why I think he can come back from this injury. And it's why the team is bullish on him and why I want to be bullish on him. And I want to draft him in my fantasy leagues. I mentioned in the last segment that you can view the standard deviation of rankings on fantasypros.com of any running back inside the top 40. Right now, Brooks has the widest, the biggest standard deviation. So the widest disparity amongst the rankers. I remember a time early in the summer talking about Brooks on shows, maybe with you, Erickson, I don't even remember with who about how he's outside the top 40. This is crazy. That's going to go up. And now here he in the expert consensus rankings, RB 29 in real time ADP. So I actually, I threw out a meme on Twitter on the fantasy pros page a few days ago, kind of joking about taking Jonathan Brooks in the fifth round and people were kind of muted in their replies. Like that doesn't seem that crazy. Like it just continues to rise. And the hype machine is there. Tara, for you, when is too early to take a guy like Brooks? And do you agree with him as a potential league winner here? I do. I get nervous. So the good thing is, is that, well, hey, at least we know it's a committee right now. We know that he can take over this job without there having to be a significant injury beyond what we've got. So yeah, he could become the RB one real quick. I don't have a particular round that I think people need to adhere to. My thing is, is that I just want you to make sure that you were compensating with being ready, just in case you need an RB two ready in week one, if they have to be hovered back and it's more mediocre production from Jonathan Brooks for the first few weeks until he ascends to his RB one. Greatness there. So just if you're taking Jonathan Brooks, take him wherever you want, but just make sure that you are coming around pretty quickly to get a third back so that you're at least three deep with actual startable running backs. If you have a very RB heavy approach earlier in your drafts and are feeling comfortable enough at receiver, you know, from just the beginning to the end, you're going to want to throw out names. I really love the idea of getting Brooks as like, I haven't actually got him in as an RB4 in a league where I was very robust on running back early. I'm feeling ecstatic about that one. Obviously, the more important he is to your season, the more I'm going to feel a little bit nervous. Just with that, I mean, this is still a guy with like, what, nine career carries in the like, it is still nerve wracking. But when you're talking pure upside, and even as much as he's jumped in ADP, he's still like a mid RB3. That's like, that's still a lot of upside. And you look at the other running back, he's still a little bit nervous. He's still a little bit nervous. He's running backs around and like, like Jalen Warren, Tony Pollard, Rico Dattel, JK Dobbins is always her. Blake Corum's a back. I'm like, you start to get into the other running backs. Okay, like, I think the case for Brooks is pretty good. I like this one a lot. And I'm very on board. Tara, who is your other league winner? My other league winner is also a running back. It's Jacory Krosky, Merida Gallego. And a little bit after that, I wanted to give you guys a nice value pick league runner that you could grab in the mid rounds with legit top 12 upside at his position. The ADP is on the run. But it's not as dramatic as a rise as we've seen with Jonathan Brooks. It's more of like a low end RB3 round eight pick very reasonable there for him. Jacory Krosky merits 2025 metrics. Like when you look at them as a whole, obviously, they look a little funky because we have Washington that was dealing with a wide variety of issues. Jane Daniels missed over half the season. Washington's offense struggled significantly. They leaned on Chris Rodriguez at the goal line because he was highly effective. And that's not a negative towards JCM. He was a rookie. They had a veteran who they really trusted at the line. They leaned on that when they were in desperate times. But JCM did have very encouraging performances when he actually was given volume to 100 hour multiple 100 yard games there 100 yard two touchdown game against the Chargers. And we've had reports coming out that he has significantly improved on his passing downs work. And that was really the issue for him. I get it, right? He's young. That wasn't something that he was particularly great at. That is something that you can develop as a young player. And they told him that he knew that he spent the offseason working on it. And by all accounts, it sounds like he has become passable in that area. Rashad White is great at what he does. He's an excellent pass blocker, excellent receiver. We weren't looking for JCM to go out and suddenly become better than Rashad White on that end. You just need to get to the point where you are good enough that you are not a liability on the field and they don't have to pull you off in telegraph plays. So now they can feel more comfortable with the idea of him as a three down back or at the very least, having more of a solidified role in terms of a heavier volume, particularly on the field. And I think that's a really good point. I think that's a really on the ground with a little bit of work through the air compared to Rashad White. So I feel very good about him and the potential that he has in this offense and a bounce back season with a healthy Jane Daniels, because he'll be good enough to where they don't have to pull him off the field. And if he achieves that, Washington will have upside. We've talked about, I talked, you guys talked about the pass catchers there earlier in Terry McLaurin and Stefan Diggs, both having legit top 24 potential upside as a bold take there. So I'm very encouraged by the possibility that he offers. And then I know he's dealing with a little injury. There was actual footage of him running yesterday, people. So don't feel panic. They're just being cautious with them. Erickson, where are you at on bill RB 35 in real time ADP? I've been rising bill in my ranks, but I'm still on team Rashad White. Like that's, that's where I settle on, on the commander's backfield losing Laramie Tunsil, I think is really tough for a lot of the offensive players on this team. And I think that it hurts Krosky merit a decent chunk because if the run game is impacted the most, cause again, that's not Rashad White's game. Like he's not. there to rip off explosive plays run between the tackles etc he's there to catch passes and block and i'm concerned if the pass protection on the offensive line can't hold up that they're not going to wait for bill to prove himself and it's like no we got to get the guy that we know can pass protect now against the philadelphia eagles in week one and that could potentially be rashad white and not necessarily bill kroski merit so rashad white he has an rb7 overall finish on his resume he has never finished worse than rb40 in any season of his fantasy football career and that's where he goes in adp so he is cheaper than cross command both guys are pretty cheap so i do think that embracing this ambiguous backfield makes a lot of sense so i agree with tara that you should be taking shots on the commander's backfield but for me it's rashad white again he went to college with jay daniels man they're boys and i think when push comes up he could also see the red zone work in this backfield like he saw last year he was really efficient in the red zone rashad white last season for the buccaneers we've got some sleeper stacks for you guys too but first get a last year from week five onward trevor lawrence outscored every single other player in fantasy football in points per game at 23 points per game part of that was because he was hooking up with his boy out of the slot parker washington who projects to be the slot receiver for the jaguars in 2026 we've seen this role be awesome for fantasy football when you go back to liam cohen's days with the buccaneers and chris godwin just you're seeing these guys go absolutely nuclear and i think trevor lawrence he's like one of my favorite late round quarterbacks to draft because he has so many receivers to throw the football to and none of them are so super expensive between parker washington and brian thomas jr and jacoby myers and maybe travis hunter on a play or two if he's playing wide receiver then brendan strange when all of his receivers were healthy last year trevor lawrence he averaged 28 fantasy points per game just an unreal amount of upside that you can get with him when he has his healthy weapon so i like trevor lawrence and then parker washington makes the most sense as the stack this is per sharp football stats parker washington last year had a 31 target share with brian thomas jr and jacoby myers on the field and his efficiency was off the charts 3.17 yards per route run and over his last four games 145 receiving yards 115 receiving yards 87 receiving yards 107 receiving yards it's just turned you know 24 years old i think he's underrated as a prospect coming out of penn state yet he was a day three pick but i think that he's vastly outproduced that and i think that the jaguars are going to look at last year and think let's keep it rolling here like this worked out like let's keep featuring this player and i think parker washington is due for a breakout campaign alongside trevor lawrence who i think is a dark horse mvp so that's my sleeper stack so erickson giving us a stack in that round six to eight range tara you're looking a little bit deeper for your stack i am for the record i love uh erickson stack there that is one of my favorite two draft but i wanted to give you guys a deeper sleeper stack and it is tyler shuck and juwan johnson obviously my preferred stack would be tyler shuck and chris alabe right but if you don't get him you can swing by the end of your draft and take the guy who's going to be the second look in this offense with jordan tyson dealing with the injury juwan johnson don't be shocked if tyler shuck ends up being a guy that you draft as a either a streaming option or a streaming option or a streaming option or a streaming option or a backup quarterback to sit on your bench and he becomes your preferred weekly starter because he is in a fantastic situation the saints really did right by him this offseason sadly he won't be able to take advantage of the addition of jordan tyson early on but maybe hopefully he can get this thing figured out and be productive mid-season but they did add young receiver depth to kind of round out that receiving core and the addition of travis etn i think is going to be huge for him because etn is a great pass catcher but it's really more than that it's just going to help the flow of the offense and it's going to help the flow of the offense and it's going to help the flow of the rushing upside rushing touchdowns so all of that just adds up in a very suspect division where a lot of those teams in his division are dealing with a ton of defensive injuries so it's going to be a good nice soft schedule same soft schedule that he saw in the back half the season when he was starting then you add in juwan johnson secret sauce for a low end very budget friendly tight end one strong ppr play touchdowns obviously weren't very abundant with him but he saw a minimum of four targets per game with shuck and as night as high as night as high as night over 100 targets last season 77 receptions nearly 900 yards just a good cheap combination there erickson rounds 12 and 13 what do you think about this one for shuck and johnson i don't play dfs but if i did i would recommend that you stack up the saints and lions in week one because of this type of stack here between tala shuck and juwan johnson and chris alaba you bring it back with jameson williams i mean i can't guarantee you're going to win a million dollars but you'll be in the running so i think that this makes a ton of sense juwan johnson's particular like he is just buried in tight end adp i think the last time i checked he was like tight end 20 and i think that you're he's gonna be in when we do the week one rankings he's gonna be top 12 guy by consensus and if he's not then that's what's funny let me let me interrupt you here erickson he has actually jumped up if you look at real-time adp he's gotten up 12 spots in overall adp so about a round's worth in the last week and five spots in the last 24 hours so there is getting even more interest he's still like like a late 12th rounder so it's not like he's going to be you know you have to spend a ton of draft capital to get him but he was in that tight end 20 range in real-time adp he is now at tight end 16 actually so he has jumped up in the last week or so yeah i think that he in my rankings he's a top 12 tight end so i think that's where he should be again last year he was i believe either third in receptions or yards or both among tight ends and i mean the fact that he was going solo i get there was concerns but the situation has changed so much in his favor because of the jordan tyson injury it doesn't seem like oscar delp is going to have a significant role in year one and the team really likes juan johnson so him and alave should see a lot of targets especially early on with tyson out let's see if we can squeeze in a few audience questions here before we get to the next segment uh who is the best late or mid-round tight end to grab erickson john johnson's pretty good yeah i know who you're gonna say all right we'll go with you uh let's go to another juan here actually uh juan jennings worth a look in late rounds i feel like he could offer some red zone usage tara what do you think it's not the worst thing in the world we know he has the talent to do it obviously it's a very crowded group of pass catchers but maybe kyler murray gets hot and you want a proven veteran late that's not the worst one to grab yeah erickson any interest in jennings i think the red zone play is the way to view it that's what he did the most damage of with the 49ers last couple years erickson would you draft make noise this year you're not crazy for thinking he might make noise to improve all of his past catchers but i don't know if he's gonna have enough to you know be someone that we're starting on a weekly basis you know without massive rushing upside but yeah i'm looking forward to it erickson what's your interest in mendoza and let's say a super flexi because obviously one qb you're not drafting him i like him a lot he's my favorite i talked about on the betting pro show but he was my bet for offensive rookie of the year even though he's probably not going to start in week one i'm a believer in the talent and i think that we're going to see enough of kirk cousins through the first month of the season and the takeaway is going to be yeah this guy ain't it let's get mendoza in there so i think he's gonna and we again you got brock bowers right i know that everyone's complaining about the receivers he does have a number one wide receiver his name is brock bowers and i think with bowers even if that's it and then these other ancillary pieces the offensive line is improved you get a quick washington explosive out of the backfield i think he can make some noise so you're not crazy let's go to this question from what is clearly debro's burner what about a super late flyer on bryce lance might he emerge with jordan tyson out erickson i think it's possible i know that there's also been a lot of buzz for barry brown as well a guy i also really liked coming out of the draft early production in his college career explosive so someone's gonna make some noise because someone's got to run those routes opposite of crystal lave devon valet we kind of know is like the super floor play because he's already like 30 years old and it's like his third year in the nfl but yeah i think that bryce lance as a flyer makes sense yeah tara i still hold a candle in my heart for devon valet but you are correct that it's probably going to be someone else and i there's a real opportunity there because kellen more offenses do not love to check down so the wide receiver has a good bet there all right final question of this segment we still have another one coming so don't go
