Fantasy Basketball Mock Draft Pick 10 - Kevin Durant Build

Michael Bolton hosts a mock fantasy basketball draft on the Lockdown Fantasy Basketball Podcast, selecting Kevin Durant at the 10th pick and building a diverse team through a detailed, injury-conscious draft process. He evaluates players across multiple rounds, prioritizing positional balance—particularly securing centers and point guards—while accounting for health risks and ADP volatility. Key picks include Jalen Johnson, Jalen Brown, Damien Lillard, Jared Allen, and Isaiah Jackson, with late-round value players like A-Cuff, Levine, and Oda Sumu added to ensure depth. The mock draft emphasizes strategic risk management, avoiding over-leverage on high-upside but potentially late picks. Sponsorships from Indeed, Game Time, and Fangil are integrated, promoting hiring, live game experiences, and fantasy rewards. Final projections show Case in first place, Legoted second, and the host’s team among the lower-tier finishes, underscoring the competitive nature of fantasy basketball drafts. The episode concludes with a note of future mock drafts at picks seven and nine, reinforcing the show’s focus on in-depth, realistic team construction.

Thanks for that previously recorded message. Let's talk a pick 10. Let's do a mock draft. Let's get stuck into it. Alright, let's get into this draft room. I'll be picking Kevin Durant at this spot, and we'll see how it all plays out. I'm very interested to see what ends up flipping back to me in Round 2. There's just this group of seven or eight blokes at that spot where you can feel any sort of way about them. The Murrays, Mitchell's, Lomallos, Towns, Barnes, Johnson, Maxi, whoever's available, Halibird and maybe. So many guys in that area that you can have a crack at. So we're about to start one second away. Will we ever break the "don't take" Yokeach at one? No, no. He's going at one every draft, which fair enough. That's reasonable. I don't think it'd be bad if he took Wembee at one, but Yokeach goes at one and every one of these. Wembee 2. Legoted, picking 30, it takes Donchitcher. I'll guess this is Shay. And then we'll see. Although we've had some mix-ups in the other one, so Shay goes. Austin's at five. Will he do Janus? Will he do Cade? Will he do something else crazy? Janus at five. Cool. Alright, to me, that's the top five. That's the order as well. That's locked that into me. That's where we're at. Unless there's an injury happening in pre-season, this is the top six as well for me in order. Yokeach, Wembee, Donchitch, Shay, Janus, Tatum, and then Cade goes at seven. Which I think is what I will do when I do my pick seven mock draft tomorrow. Flag at eight. Anthony Edwards falling down. Remember Anthony Edwards has a two-game playoff week? Which is not great, obviously. Anthony Edwards goes at nine there, so I'll just take Kevin to wrap. So could you make an argument to not take Edwards at nine and to move someone else ahead of him? I think there is a sizable gap between Durant and Edwards that I don't know that you do that. And then the other teams with those two game weeks got the palikins. You got the calves in there as well, depending on your schedule. And the calves, palikins, wolves, hornets, I believe, have a two-game week. Maxi at 11, which is what I did in the draft yesterday. I just don't really know if I feel that. Barnes and Reeves. I'm also a little down on Barnes at number 12, but let's lock in. It's my pick coming up. Jabal Murray goes, so that would have been one of my picks. What are we going to do here? As time goes down. Oh, you know what? I haven't done it in really any drafts. Let's take Jalen Johnson there. Again, I think there's a whole bunch of players who are interchangeable around this area. Could have had Mitchell, could have had towns, could have had Lamello. I'll take Jalen there. Don Mitchell goes after that. At 16. And now we're 17 picks away. So my next picks will be what? 34? Yeah. It's not about what are the drafts. I'll have Darius Garland available to me. Will I do that or not? I'm not sure. Torres Halliburton goes 17. Lamello goes 18. This middle of the second round is pretty boring, I find. Not from a, they're all good players, but they don't really think there's much. I don't think people will obsess about it, but that's really an anti-davis. I don't think we went 13 in the last one. But the differences between so many of these guys in terms of what value proposition I don't really think it's that big of a deal. Darius before towns is something. Shenguin before towns also at 20. Wow, all right. No, a Mentomson off the board either. Josh Giddy, wow, this is. All right. So maybe it's not boring. We're doing some different stuff here. There goes towns at 22. So that legoted team, I think, is going to project out really well in my standing. If you get a guy like that slipping, like I think towns did there. And even if Ysio Kichigai takes a men, that's going to be great for him too. Trey Young goes at 23 and then a Mentomson 24. That's really going to bump the value there. I just think that, yeah. That's interesting. Steph also on the turn, really obviously a good per game player. But risky. Would I take quiet at my pick 34? Probably too early. Jim Harden at 26. Quiet is playing in the preseason game for the Raptors today. That's too early for me on Jim Harden. I like guys in this area. I like Brandon Miller. I like Garland. I don't mind BAM here. Trey Murphy, Mark and in. Maybe a little early on a different booker. He just went there. Oh, Mark and I went as well. Okay. Damn it. Five picks until me. It's always going to be these sort of players. For me, I feel like in this area, like a Garlo. I do have Kauai in my queue. Do I, do I risk that? Kyrie goes at 30. I think that's where I took him earlier today, I think. I might. I've got Durant and Jalen. Do I take Kauai? Even Mobley goes at 31. I'm more of a Kauai in the top. Wait, that's at the top 40 and it's not quite there. So maybe in round four I'll take Kauai if you get to me. Will he mean so? No, I won't because Kauai just went. So we're two picks away. One pick away from me. I'm going to lock in now. I might go with. Chet Hong Kong goes. I might go with. Actually don't know. Murphy. Ken Murphy. At number 34. Miller, Garland. They were options for me. They're Sabonis, Jalen Brown. There goes the Bronco Jalen Williams. I will be looking at, ooh Jalen Bronson could I do you? I've deer, brown. So Brandon Miller finishes off the round. That's three rounds done when Jalen Williams, Brandon Miller. Okay. Now where do we go from here? I think I'm gonna take Jalen Brown if I can. So Garland's gone at 37. Walker Kessler at 38. All right. Jalen Brown for me at 39. So bonus was also worth a shout there. I'm gonna need, although John's a pretty good rebounder, I'm gonna need a rebounding guy probably, in my next pick, Jalen Bronson one pick after that. Denny Abdie at 41. Kessler one was, didn't expect that to come. And wait, I think I might be in the market for some pool George later on as well. So bonus goes to 42. The King's lost Dylan Cardwell today for two weeks at least, with a calf strain after losing Maxime Reyno for two weeks. So Deepalegs, John Moba, is there back up center? Yeah, I mean, it has to be. So bonus and Moba was their center rotation. I guess they play small ball with Ben Simmons at center. DeGente Murray at 44. Murray's ADP still sits at like 70, but in a lot of these drafts, you see he goes early. So yeah, I like Murray. I don't know, I have to, I don't have to reach for him in this area, but he's going in these spots. Derek White at 46. And two more in the fourth round. I'm gonna put, I was gonna put a Congwil Machu. Bunkero just went at 47. Now White casts, takes Nikiel Alexander Walker, which I do like quite a bit there at 49. Will he double-bang the teammates, go Dyson Daniels? No, he does double-bang the teammates, but he goes with a different one. And Yakuza Congwil followed by Matas Bezellis, which is a very common spot for Bezellis. Now Legotid, what will he do? Pascal Siakum of 51, that feels a little early. It's not, it's not bad. I think that Lillard should have probably gone by now. It's gonna throw, ooh, also Cam Booser will be my target, also if I can get to, if he gets to me, which I don't know that he will. But he had no Lillard yet. Dyson Daniels goes. There he goes, well there he goes, Booser. I like to get Booser in one of these mock troughs. Okay. OGN and Oby at 55, Booser at 54, Ryan Rollins at 56. Clean enough the board. So I'm at pick 58. I'm not taking, I'm gonna take Wagner. I can get Paul George the other way, on the other way around. I don't have any point card eligible players yet. By the way, I'm gonna take Paul George or Lillard on the flip around here. Call her where it goes, that would have been a good pick, actually. I don't have where it's projected as highly as maybe I should. Zubat's at 60, so centers are going. So is that leaving me 80? LeBron at 61, yep, fair, fair pick. So, oh, I don't get to get Paul George again, I miss. I don't have a point card eligible player, so let's take Damien Lillard there at 63. I'm pretty happy with that. Very happy with that, actually, I would have liked to have grabbed Paul George there, but that's whatever. When's my next pick, 82? Who's my center eligible player? I don't have one yet either. I need to get one of those, too. All right, that's what we're gonna focus on. Day one sharp will be my guy. Let's throw him into the Q's going to 80p of 99. Asad Thompson goes at 65, Michael Podcast goes at 64. I've got Zach Edie, yeah, I just grabbed him in the last mark, but he would have been fine. That's a little early on Steph Castle at 66. And then Embeded at 67. Can I have taken Embed? I could have, but I didn't, I took Lillard instead. That's, that Embeded team has Tatum Davis and Kyrie. Ooh, few yikes. Okay, man, Edie at 68. Yeah, I'm feeling a bit more confident about Edie recently. The big area all of Concerniple goes to 69. To me, I just don't wanna do it. End of the season with a hamstring injury. This is the area I would have picked when he was healthy anyway. So what discount would I be getting at that spot? Des Bayon at 70, he doesn't normally fall that far. That's interesting to see. Go Bear goes at 71. I'm beating point cards and I'm needing centers. Hero 72, McDaniel 73. Dylan Harper's going into my Q as a point card eligible player as well. I doubt that he makes to me. Nice read also. And I'll take Alex Sar if he gets back to me in the 80s. I think, maybe not. Julius Randall at 74, where they guys read at 75. I'm still targeting Dayron Sharp, Zion at 76. Jared Allen could be a boring center pick for me as well. I'll throw him into my Q. My Q currently has, I'll show you on the screen. I've got, yeah, or someone just went, the sharpest go you're kidding me. I've got quickly Harper, Sar and Allen in my Q at the moment. There goes Milk Jerome at 78. Well, that got auto picked Dayron Sharp. Bro. All right, now I need to lock in on a center. Is it Allen, is it Sar? Caleb Wilson at 79. Miles Turner. Marie Boyle's God. Dylan Harper went as well at 80. Okay, so I have to be, Sar, Allen, Miles Turner, what are we thinking? I think I'm just gonna take Jared Allen. Jared Fox goes at 81. I'll take, yeah, I'll take Jared Allen there. And then Perda would be another option. Do I take Marie Boyle's? Norman Powell goes 83. Man, you're quickly also someone that's interesting as another point guide eligible player. I think I'm gonna take Colomari Boyle's if it gets past Gummy Bear here who just took Colomari Boyle's. Bro. I guess it will be Sar. I guess. Such a coward goes at 85. Damn, it's, I don't want, don't I take Perda? I could take Perda. Hey, there goes Heart and Stein. I'm gonna take Alex Sar. I think that's enough there for him to fall. Like I probably, I really did need the positional stuff. So I normally would let him fall a little bit further, but I just needed to grab that sort of position. I need to now also make sure I'm getting some, some PGs. VJ Edge commit 88. That's reasonable. This is gonna put me back onto the CJ McCullum train. I think also I'm just gonna throw the axle into the queue. Sure he's gonna go somewhere. I'm gonna throw a cuff into my queue. Brandon Ingram, that is possibly too early at number 90, given the injury. Morant also someone to look at that he just go and I paint and pritch at it at 95. Bridget's draft spot is all over the shop. Sometimes he goes in the 70s, sometimes it's at 100. Josh the Hitman Heart at 92, just not someone I'm interested in really. Jabari Smith goes at 93 also. These guys are just so boring to me. I would consider Kobe White and one of these later rounds is because I need to point guard and we're getting late enough now where I can take that chance on him. Keegan Murray goes at 94. Also I don't think it's gonna get to me. I mean, it quickly is still available. He just goes there, that's at 96, that's really good. I'm expecting Yaxel to go in this round. Throw Jalen Suggs into my queue also. Clack Stern, John Collins. Kobe White does go at 97. So the couple of those point guard targets are now not available to me. Mikael Bridges 98, that's, I think this is about the right spot for Bridges to be honest. Debants at 99, absolutely no shot that I'll be doing this. way too early for AJ Debonzer, way too early. Yuck a portal 100, I like that pick. Am I gonna end up with Miles Turner again? To make sure his Moran goes at 101, I need the point guard though, so CJ probably. Yaxl at 102, I've seen him go earlier than that, so not bad. The match Cater 103, not even sure he's gonna start, feels too early. I don't love that team from RM. Castle to early, Cater to early, Ingram to early. Oh, he took CJ, really means bro, leave me alone. Okay, so now lock back, I need a, I do need another point guard and CJ just went, do I take Sugs? Yuck. Levine is point guard eligible, that's what I'm gonna do. If, unless Smooth cooks me here, Smoothie, he took Miles Turner, so that was someone I was interested in. Let's take Levine. And then we get Fliery, do we take A-Cuff? Sugs would also work pretty well. Well, no, 'cause he just went to 107, that's Sugs, will I be able to get A-Cuff here? Sort of what I want just to take a fly out. Dioleman also is, oh well, I was gonna say, I was gonna put Dioleman in the queue, but Yego Dioleman went at 108. Jeremiah Fears goes at 109. Well, that, hopefully that won't push Ingaro into, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. See, takes Case and Wall, that's a good way to pick. Let's take Darius A-Cuff at 111. I could have taken AJ Mitchell as well, certainly is a little bit more upside, obviously, in A-Cuff, Daz Peterson goes at 112. Old DP. Has he got, he doesn't even have dual position eligibility. That needs to be worked on. Surely, surely not. Derek Queen at 113. Yes, which is actually a really bloody good pick. I'm very worried about what the hell they're gonna do with him, but 113, love it. Davey on Mitchell 114. There are, yeah, I just don't agree with your team. That's, again, cool, sick, who cares? Who cares if I agree or I don't agree, I don't know how it's gonna work out. I also hate that derogatory picking round 10. And this is a consistent thing. Miles Bridges is falling to like 120 every draft. There we go, is at 117. I'm going to assume him in my queue as well. So that's, now I've got three point card eligible players, two centers. So I probably need one more center eligible guy. Jalen Green goes at 119. Not bad. John Collins would be good, is it getting us? John Collins has small forward eligibility. Never played a second of small forward in his life, by the way. Don't know how that happens. Mama Curry's really at 120. Nick Claxton, also still available. I'll happily take him if we're so far away. I'm still nine picks away. Andy Wiggins, 121. The two guys that I want here are Claxton and Collins. Sitting right at the top of this queue. A dad, it's going to happen. Also AJ Mitchell, Peyton Watson. AJ Mitchell just goes, 122. Okay. Come on, my watch at 123. Let's go. Interesting pick, I like it. No one there for the Demanto. What was that guy's name? Demanto, it's got a crazy name. What is he? Demari Monsanto, Terry Eason, that's way too early. What are we doing? I know it's fly territory, but geez. No, thank you. Ron Barrett, I hate this because it's four picks to go. Am I going to get, John Collins? Am I going to get Claxton? Of course, there goes Claxton. Three picks to go. So now Collins won't make it to me. I spoke too soon. Clearly, that's how it works. Stream snapping. Aram, this is similar players. Yes, there it is. Another pick that I absolutely can't stand. Andrew Nemhart. Loved to have someone with a completely different philosophy. One pick away. Will I get John Collins? I'm sure I won't. Come on, smooth. You know you want to do it to me. Cook me. Cook me hard. Come on. Oh, he doesn't. Let's go. I'll take John Collins at that spot. And I will hope that I can get a nice little pick on the turn back around. That was Johnny Collins at 130. I am not a big John Collins guy, but at 130, I'll be as big as he wants me to be. Cameron, Johnson 131. Also, big fall here on Iodosumu. Gis Santos, El Helpar, Paul Reed 132. I'm grabbing Grayson Allen and lots of drafts. I'm not sure that I will do that here, but it'll be reasonable. Dessumu or Santos, Dessumu or Santos or Kevin Porter. I said, it's Stuart, bro, he's not even healthy. What is that? Quentin Grimes, 135. OK. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm going to take, I'm going to take IOD there at 135. So I hate IOD 108, but 135, but that's a difference. These mock drafts, the last couple of down, he's got like 106, Iodosumu. I don't have about 135 here. So I Grayson Allen into my Q, Diabate, Gillespie, a Spaley. Aaron Gordon at 137. Aaron, OK, let's go. I'm interested in your team building philosophy. Let's see, who do you take here that I just would not take in a million years? We'll see whether I agree or not. Come on, Aaron. Make the pick. Wow, was not expecting Drew Holiday there. Guy Santos goes at 139. I like the, uh, Guy Pick. I'm also, again, I don't really know how he was going to get minutes, but no one's grabbed a read shepherd yet. Normally, I just would have expected that someone would have come and pour it at 140. I think can be very, very good value. Do I chuck a Isaiah Jackson into my Q? I, I will. Keaton Wiggler, 141, Mitch Robinson, 142. Still no one taking a read shepherd. Now, I'm going to not beg on read shepherd, but he has to be taken here, like just just in case he plays 25 minutes. I don't really, I don't really know how that would happen. But just in case, surely, New Year's Eve, Missy goes at 144. And a spaley to finish or to start round 13. I've got four guys in my queue. Grayson Allen calling. Go, let's be read shepherd and Isaiah Jackson. That was Grayson Allen. So he's gone. Aaron Neesmith is someone I'm just going to throw in. The big impzl. Rehatchamara 147. And I'm going to put Vooch in as well. Drain on green at 148. That's an interesting team. Ryan's cooking up there. Oh, there we go. And Miss, Mr. Tragan. Raceroblark goes at 149 and read shepherd goes at 150. I have not seen read shepherd go that way in any draft. Window Carter at 151, is that value? It's sort of getting close to what I guess. Jim Butler at 152. OK, I'm just, I'm not going to draft him. I don't think. Who just got taken? Kaminga. So now it's my pick. I'm going to take Isaiah Jackson. And then it'll be my final pick coming up. Jalen Smith is the next one. Yeah, that's an interesting short term feeling. Anyone going to take a dimara? Pala Larson off at 156. I think someone might take my eye. I don't see how it works out, but whatever. Ben Simmons 157. I'm going to go with-- who was that? Mariz Johnson. You can be the backup center also in Sacramento. The big sneeze procedure. I'm going to take Nysmith. Just give me a starter, 30 minute guy whose efficiency should be way up with Halibut in there. So Dylan Brooks at 160. Plenty of guys I would take ahead of Dylan Brooks. I'd take Sadek Bay there. I'd take Nerkich. Voojkoz I would have taken him. Mikhail Brown. I'd take Toby Harris. I would take Dan Gaffer even. Could let's be guys at 163, Mikhail Brown at 162. Scoot Henderson's even worth a crack. I just don't know how or where he's going to play. But like, I'll say Iga Dara also. No one has grabbed a dimariate. Bob Porter's 164. OK. Listen around. Not bad. Yo, I'm Baron J at 165. Hard for me to look at that one as anything more than just what are you doing? Pick Pippin' at 166. Two more to go. Karl Filipowski. No, thanks. Bro's bad. And having had back surgery. And the final pick was it was a dimariate. There you go. 168. Thoughts I want to do it. All right. That's that draft over my team. Kevin Durant, Jalen Johnson, Trey Murphy, Jalen Brown, Franz Wagner, Damien Lillard, Jared Allen, Alex Sazak Levine, Darius A. Cough, Johnny Collins, Oda Sumu, Isaiah Jackson, and Aaron Nysmith. Let's have a look at the projected standings in this one. Pick two case projected first. With a winning percentage of $5.29, the lowest was $472. So case up top, legoted next to pick third, and then Wyatt Cass in third place who picked first. And then me. We pick. tenth. Then there was a bit of a gap at number five - Nash D Fitness who had the sixth pick, which I did like, he's draft, smooth, who had the ninth pick, and in Garo, who had the eleventh pick. So that's your top seven in this mock draft, which we're done with now. So thank you for being a part of it, thank you for watching, thank you for subscribing, double banging, leaving all of your comments as such down below. Guys, we are done here. Two more of these head-to-head mocks to do, pick seven and pick nine. Flag, Cade. We're done here. See ya. (upbeat music)
