The U.K. Royal Air Force is launching defensive missions in Saudi Arabia. The arson attack on Francis Lemoge Town Hall now has a suspect and Trump promises farmers a massive diesel relief program. I'm daily wire executive editor John Vickley with Georgia Howell. It's Tuesday, October 20th. This is EveneWire. The U.K. Royal Air Force will now start to fly defensive missions in Saudi Arabia. The Defense Ministry made the announcement today as Saudi forces try to repel the latest attacks from the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. The Ministry says U.K. planes will only take part in defensive missions and are only being sent to the Middle East to help ensure regional stability. In a statement, Defense Minister West Streeting called the Houthi attacks "absolutely despicable." In addition to the RAF fighters, Britain will send transport aircraft as well as a number of military advisers. Francis extending nighttime curfews in several major cities after days of riots and looting left more than 1,000 police officers injured and led to over 2,500 arrests, contributor Tim Pierce as the latest. Prime Minister Sebastian Lekornu said the restrictions helped restore calm Monday night and promised a massive security deployment ahead of further demonstrations planned for Saturday. Authorities claim the unrest began with largely peaceful protests over school conditions and the rising cost of living, but has resulted in attacks on government buildings and the looting of more than 3,000 shops. Justice Minister Joral Damanas said about 150 people had already been jailed with more than 800 expected to face trial in the coming days. Opposition parties faulted Lekornu's government for failing to maintain order, but the prime minister has blamed far-left extremists for some of the violence. Meanwhile, French authorities believe that a far-left activist on a terror watch list is behind the fire that burned down the historically mouged town hall. Several local reports identified the suspect as 34-year-old Hodei Sierra, a known radical environmentalist with a criminal history. Federal investigators looking into Congresswoman Ilhan Omar have obtained DNA evidence to prove whether Ahmed Nersayid Elmi, whom Omar married in 2009, is actually her biological brother. Court records show Omar separated from Elmi in 2011 before the couple divorced in 2017. But Omar has long been dogged by allegations that the marriage was a sham to fool US immigration authorities. Omar has denied the allegations. Elmi currently lives in the UK. He reportedly dropped out of the US immigration process after authorities asked for more details about his marriage to Omar. Federal investigators have also interviewed Omar's sister Sarah Noor. She sat down with investigators last week as agents raided Omar's DC home. Noor lives in Kenya but is currently in the US on a book tour. A daily wire investigation has linked Noor to a COVID era scam through her health group Grit Partners Consulting. The closely watched race for Ohio governor has drawn national attention for a controversial ad featuring the estranged mother of Democrat candidate Amy Acton, so she produced her giraffin team as more. has appeared in a campaign ad denouncing her daughter. Acton's campaign immediately responded blaming the ad on Republican opponent Vivek Ramaswami, calling it a "despicable low." There's currently no evidence that Ramaswami or his campaign were behind the ad which did not identify when the video was produced, who financed it or whether it is airing on television. The Trump administration has revoked more than 300,000 visas since the president returned to office, citing criminal activity, public safety threats and immigration violations. A state department official said at least 4,000 visas were revoked over birth tourism in which foreign nationals traveled to the United States to give birth. Department spokesman Tommy Piggit says the administration has revoked visas "at a faster pace than any administration in history, warning that foreigners who break the law commit fraud or threaten national security could face consequences." The pace has accelerated in 2026 after officials reviewed 23,000 cases last year. In 2025, a quarter of revoked visas involved assaults or related crimes, while 22% were related to driving under the influence. A devout orthodox Jew invited about a dozen friends to pray in his home, his city required him to get a permit and then recruited his neighbors to spy on him. It may sound impossible, but it actually happened in University Heights, Ohio, to a man named Daniel Grand. That's why Alliance Defending Freedom and Oric, Harrington, and Sutcliffe are defending Daniel at the U.S. Supreme Court. It's defending freedom never builds its clients, and right now your gift will be doubled by a matching grant while matching funds last. President Trump is promising farmers $8 billion in relief from soaring diesel prices. At a rally outside Wichita on Monday night, the president unveiled the Harvest Fuel Relief Program, which will reimburse farmers for part of their losses based on their acreage and the crops they planted. Diesel has averaged $6 a gallon or more in most of the country in recent weeks, up from $350 before the Iran War began. The announcement comes 15 days before the midterms and Trump credited Kansas Republican Senator Roger Marshall for the idea. He's in a tight re-election race against an independent endorsed by Democrats. And called Marshall, quote, "the leader who fought for that to happen." The Agriculture Department will announce payment rates next month with checks to follow later. Actors Christina Applegate says she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis more than five years ago, leaving her devastated and still searching for answers. Entertainment reporter Amanda Harding has the story. Applegate 54 revealed the news on her messy podcast, saying she broke down when a doctor told her, "Congratulations, you don't have MS. The dead to me star was originally diagnosed in 2021 and said the condition has caused her work and left her reliant on a wheelchair to get to medical appointments." Dr. Mawa Kasey, a Cedar Sinai neurologist who appeared on the podcast, said MS misdiagnoses are fairly common, noting that nearly one in five patients previously told they had the disease in one study did not actually have it. Applegate said the news has left her without an explanation for symptoms that have continued to worsen. WNBA Commissioner Kathy Engelbert has declared that draft hopefuls in his counter freedom in Royce White are ineligible, being that they are, quote, "both men." WNBA lover Nick Shean has the story. The WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement states that only women are eligible for the draft, but fails to define what a woman is, an issue that the WNBA has thus far declined to clarify. Dr. Engelbert, responding to a congressional inquiry, has still refused to provide a clear definition of woman, but has taken the step to declare former NBA players counter freedom and white ineligible. Counter freedom responded to the news, saying, quote, "Cathy Engelbert cannot clearly define what a woman is, but she's absolutely certain I'm a man, who gets to decide who has the authority to determine whether someone is a woman? Cantor also stated that he will continue to pursue eligibility in the 2027 draft pending an official change of the league rules. Australian authorities have charged a man accused of repeatedly ramming independent lawmaker Helen Haynes with his vehicle in what police described as a targeted attack. Haynes, who was 65, reportedly lost a leg in the assault on Monday in the southeastern town of Wongarata. Prosecutors charged Brendan Nugent with intentionally causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury, and harming a federal official. Bystanders reportedly subdued Nugent before police took him into custody. Authorities have not disclosed a motive. Haynes has represented a rural electorate since 2019 in one re-election in 2025 by more than 18,000 votes. Prime Minister Anthony Albanyes praised her as a respected lawmaker known for her kindness, intelligence, and respectful approach across party lines. Resource Wealth of their province has been stifled by national bureaucracy. Prime Minister Mark Carnie took the results as a win, saying, quote, "Canada is greater than the sum of its parts." Carnie previously expressed major apprehension about the vote, calling it, quote, "a dangerous bluff that will lead to years of deep division." This was Albert's first ever referendum on independence. Those are your drive home updates this evening.
