Okay, first, before we give you the facts of the day, run Hyde Fight in Fadelles is streaming now only on Daily Wire. It's an ode to the great action movies of the 80s and 90s. There is even a love story which nobody expected. And you can support Daily Wire's mission to continue making movies that people actually want to watch. Go check it out. The Homeland Security Chief Slam's Zoran Mamdani over his response to an ice shooting. The plans for the public execution of the Fort Hood terrorist sparks controversy. And the first Michigan Senate debate goes viral. I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley. It's Friday, October 9th, and this is evening wire. Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin condemned New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani's response to ice shooting a criminal illegal immigrant connected to a violent gang. Immigration reporter Jenny Tehr has the latest. During a press conference on Friday, Mullin slammed Mamdani for spending two hours on the phone with President Trump Thursday night, and for begging him to release the criminal illegal immigrant who had a lengthy rap sheet in New York. Mullin said Trump would only release the illegal immigrant to the NYPD, but Mamdani said no and wanted him out on the streets. Mamdani also used the incident to renew his calls to abolish ice. Mullin responded saying such a move would only breed more crime. Democrat Abdul El Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers faced off for their first debate last night for the Senate seat in Michigan and things got personal and viral quick. El Sayed's troubling associations with radical Islamists came up often as well as his misleading claims about being a doctor. Meanwhile, he painted Rogers as an elitist. There's a few moments that have gained attention. He has taken money from individuals on his campaign who openly support Hamas, Hezbollah, El Kaida. He's taken money from the George Sorrow's family. What we found out is that this thing goes way back. Apparently they paid for his education in Columbia. Now they're paying for his campaign. By the way, that's a billionaires last I check. What degree did I get a claim? I'm going to give you a 30 second report. I get interviewed by him. As a doctor, I understand exactly what's happened. None of us should say the same thing. He says I like to say the same thing. He's done the same thing over and over and over again. You know what that is? Vote to keep your prescription drug prices high. Nineteen times a million dollars alone from Big Pharma. Another million dollars from the health insurance corporations. Of course, he is touting their talking points. This is a guy who has not been serious about providing people health care his entire career. What he has been serious about is making sure that he can monetize his time in public office. Fourteen million dollars. Two yachts. A MacMatchin in Florida. So at the end of the day I'm a doctor. I want people to have health care. All right. How's the guy? Let me ask you this. Thirty seconds. How does a guy who's had less than four years of work experience, who by the way on the campaign trail said he had ten, on a luxury property in the United Arab Emirates. Yesterday was October 7th. This is why you should get absolutely angry. He could not bring himself to even acknowledge the pain, the terrorism, the rape, the murders, cutting off of women's breasts, putting children in ovens, and killing them in front of their families. Could not even muster. So I've condemned that. He could not even muster. I've condemned that. I didn't turn into a political theater like you did not. So I just need to rehearse. No, no, no, no. I don't do anything to put a letter out there for a political game for about half of my time. So I'm so sorry, but like I just I'm not somebody who tries to make political theater out of other people's pains. I give Campbell's face to political theater. And you can't turn it into a political theater. I'm sorry. Including I just think that's what Jack is. Gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen. Reactions so far has generally not been good for El Sayed in particular. Even members of a CNN panel appeared to pile on the Democrat. He was asked, who's the greater danger to America, Israel or Iran? Three times he was asked that. He refused to answer. Afterwards, he said that's a dumb question. And he was right. It is a dumb question because the answer is so painfully easy, but he couldn't say that. He criticized microadgers for asking him to condemn Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda saying they're scary words, but he hasn't condemned them. And they are scary words because they've killed hundreds of thousands of innocents, including three thousand Americans, three miles south of here. So at a certain point, it goes from either this is political malpractice at the best or he can't or he won't because of something deeper. And that is far more troubling. >> I mean, the associations are clear. Yes, Muslim Brotherhood, he said it a million times, but has the advantage of being correct. The man has surrounded himself, including high profile family members with individuals who have ties to care, which has been implicated in terrors and financing scandals, can't condemn the attack on the synagogue without condemning Israel in the same voice, can't celebrate the death of the Ayatollah, commanding who killed Americans, and so on and so forth. Eventually, you have to confront the evidence of your own eyes. >> Meanwhile in Texas, with rumors swirling around Senate Democratic nominee James Talleriko, over his nearly two-week absence from the campaign trail, his campaign insists that he's just had a really bad case of the, quote, "flu." Reporter Jacob Wheeler has a latest. >> On September 30th, Talleriko said he came down with the flu, following a fundraiser with a far-away filmmaker who bashed America. Since then, his campaign has canceled a flurry of events and hasn't scheduled any future ones. He is, however, expected to attend a CNN town hall next week. A Texas Democrat involved in the race told NBC, quote, "He's like really sick. Believe me, we don't want this right now. We'd rather have him on the trail," end quote. The left-leaning outlet described Talleriko's unexpected illness as a curveball that threatens his standing against Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton. Spencer Pratt, the reality TV star in L.A. Mayoral candidate, has a different theory. On X, he said, quote, "My sources are telling me Talleriko is in a mental health facility. His campaign has stopped actively planning events in the vital home stretch of the campaign," end quote. A new poll released Thursday showed the Marquis Senate race tied. President Trump, meanwhile, was calling for debate in Texas, something Paxton has rebuffed in the past while Talleriko's health remains in question. A former ICC judge that oversaw a UN report that accused Israel of genociding Gaza has been honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. Daily Wire producer Brooke Morgato has more. The prize committee said it chose to honor Navi Peele, quote, "for her efforts to promote peace and international law." The 85-year-old South African was named the winner hours before the U.S. slapped sanctions on the International Criminal Court. Here was Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier today. Now, globalist experts that are in ocean a way, they don't care what you think. They want the International Criminal Court to do more, including the prosecution of American citizens and service members that are defending their country. They want to prosecute border patrol agents that are protecting our nation's borders. And they want to prosecute our elected leaders that are ensuring our national security. They want more power and they want it at the expense of our sovereignty as a nation. And President Trump will never allow the International Criminal Court to prosecute Americans. The U.S. has rejected many of the conclusions and reports from the ICC on its own operations, such as in Afghanistan, as well as Israel's. The ICC is also issued arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Those warrants have also been ignored or held up as evidence of anti-Israel bias at the, quote, rogue court. The Fort Hood terrorist execution will be public and mirror his deadly attack, where Secretary Pete Hexeth announced Thursday that Nadal Hassan's December 3rd execution by firing squad will be made public and be held at the same time, place, and week that he carried it out. The Secretary said he wanted to make sure people understood the serious consequences of Hassan's attack, which killed 13 people in 2009. The execution he said has been scheduled to take place at Fort Hood on a Thursday at 1 p.m. local time. Here's Hexeth. Army Major betrays his country. Radical Islamist kills a bunch of Americans at Fort Hood. Of course, we're going to do it at Fort Hood. We're going to do it on a Thursday. We're going to do it at 1 o'clock, which is when he did it. That's going to be soldiers with rifles executing the firing squad. He hadn't been since World War II since we've done that. Well, I kind of like the mentality we had in World War II. We know what it is. It was a radical Islamist attack in uniform inside the ranks. And so he's going to get a firing squad of soldiers as it should be. And we'll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it's public, because people need to understand that, this is a, there's serious consequences for these types of things. A.I. says it's banned Russian and Iranian accounts that used chat G.B.T. to support influence operations in several countries, that's according to a blog post it published yesterday. The Russian accounts targeted Latin America and appeared to have aimed at undermining support for Ukraine, mostly using the chatbot to write reports for their superiors. In one report, operatives claimed they impersonated a regional education authority in Peru and got schools to host events featuring Steppen Vendera, a polarizing Ukrainian nationalist figure. A Peruvian outlet reported that one such event took place and a Polish news story about it prompted a far-right Polish member of the European Parliament to suggest banning entry to people who profess support for him. Open A.I. says that report appeared to describe the widest reaching influence operation it has encountered, because it drew a response from a political figure. The Iranian accounts invented seven fake authors and published almost 100 articles in small outlets, including daily costs and the Middle East Monitor. Anthropic has banned what it calls "cruel behavior against its clawed A.I." In an update to its usage policy this week, the company now forbids "sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior towards its A.I. models." As AFP puts it, this comes amid a growing philosophical debate over whether artificial intelligence can be conscious. The new policy will be enforced through Claude's ability to just end the interactions. This appears to be an expansion of the ability Claude was given last year to end conversations in extreme cases of "persistently harmful or abusive user interactions." Layoffs remain near historic lows, even as polls show Americans are souring on the economy less than a month before the midterms. New applications for unemployment benefits have stayed below 200,000 for four straight weeks, according to Labor Department data released Thursday, the longest streak since the 1960s. Fifth, third bank chief economist Bill Adams said that while job seekers are struggling, Americans who are already employed have remarkably good job security. Still, recent polling shows Americans feel worse about the economy than they did during the pandemic, as gas prices and wages fail to keep pace with inflation. The DOJ is seeking to indict a former White House aide over claims that she lied about January 6, reporter Drew Berkmeyer has a story. The Department of Justice is seeking a criminal indictment against Cassidy Hutchinson for allegedly lying to Congress. The former aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows testified in June of 2022 before a House committee. She alleged that Trump knew some supporters gathered for a speech on the ellipse were armed, and wanted security screening measures removed so they could head toward the Capitol. She also claimed that then White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Anthony Ornato, told her Trump became furious when secret service refused to take him to the Capitol, and that he supposedly attempted to grab the steering wheel before lunging toward the agent. But the vehicle's driver disputed that account and sworn testimony. Federal prosecutors have now presented evidence to a grand jury in D.C. as part of the investigation into a testimony. The no indictment has yet been announced. And Hurricane Isaiah has strengthened into a major hurricane and is expected to hit the Gulf Coast tonight near the Florida Alabama border. According to the National Hurricane Center, it reached category three strength this morning with 120-mile-per-hour winds after rapidly intensifying this week. AccuWeather says it's also the latest forming first hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic, beating a record set in 1905. Forecasters expected to weaken to a category two before landfall. A hurricane warning covers the coast from Ocean Springs, Mississippi to the Bay Gulf County Line in Florida, with a storm surge warning stretching from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Florida's Sawani River. AccuWeather expects the worst surge six to 10 feet and possibly as high as 15 feet along the Alabama Panhandle and Western Florida Panhandle. Heavy rain could bring flooding, especially where the ground is already saturated, and tornadoes are also a risk. Because the storm is moving fast, AccuWeather's chief meteorologist warns damaging winds and power outages could reach well inland. NFL legend Mike Dittka has died at the age of 86. His family announced his death Friday, remembering the Hall of Fame player and coach as the heart of their family. No cause of death was announced. Known as Iron Mike, Dittka led the Chicago Bears to a 15-in-1 record in 1985, and a dominant victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 20. Before coaching, Dittka helped redefine the tight-end position. He won NFL Ricky of the year in 1961, and later became the first tight-end inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Bears retired his number 89 in 2013. All right, those are your drive home updates to learn more about these stories.
