I'm Daily Wire, executive editor John Bickley with Georgia Howe. It's Wednesday October 7th, this is Eveney Wire. The FBI has arrested a man suspected of plotting a terror attack at the Mall of America. Newly filed federal documents revealed today that officials arrested an 18-year-old Muslim man from Minnesota who allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS and was planning to carry out a mass shooting at Mall of America. He was detained after buying an AK-47-style rifle and ammunition from an undercover FBI agent. The suspect is being accused of planning an attack for months, allegedly telling an FBI informant, quote, "I can't wait until I kill non-believers." And citing October 24th as the day he hoped to carry out his attack. That day, the suspect said, was a Hmong art celebration at the Mall, which he said would mean a lot of people would be there for his attack. The U.S. issued a formal complaint to the Russian government today demanding more transparency about the death of a Siberian lab worker. Reporter Brekostol has the details. In the complaint, the State Department warned Moscow that failing to disclose details about the lab worker's death goes against its international health obligations. The 2005 international health regulations require countries to notify the World Health Organization within 24 hours of assessing an event that could become an international public health emergency. On Tuesday, President Trump told reporters that he planned to call Russian President Vladimir Putin very soon to discuss the matter. President Trump also said that he expects to be able to share additional information from U.S. intelligence agencies in the coming days. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says Tyran has squandered several chances to strike a nuclear deal. Talks to end the seven-month war have seemingly stalled in the lead-up to the midterms in November. And Vice President J.D. Vance reiterated earlier this week that any deal must include a meaningful reduction in Iran's nuclear enrichment, but a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Tyran will never give up its right to enrich. Meanwhile, Iran has stepped up its attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, which have yet to come down to pre-war levels. President Trump announced today the start of construction on a multi-billion-dollar shipyard in Sparrow's Point, Maryland. The project is funded with help from the Defense Company and Aril and will build components for Navy's Virginia class attack submarines. Here's the president. In a tremendous victory for our country and for the city of Baltimore, Arnda-Rill is investing $3.7 billion in a state-of-the-art shipyard that will be known forever as arsenal to. It's one of the biggest and one of the most significant shipyards, I think soon. Very soon will be anywhere in the world, it will be as significant as any. That's what we're looking for. Right here in Sparrow's Point, you'll build the next generation of American submarines including autonomous subs to torpedo tubes and critical components for our cutting-edge Virginia class attack submarines, the greatest and quietest ever-built. And thanks to record funding from my administration, the Republicans in Congress, the U.S. Navy, is also contributing an additional $2.9 billion to support the shipyard. Arnda-Rill founder Palmer Lucky said in a statement that the U.S. is way behind its need for nuclear submarines and that his company would do its level best to solve this. Israelis today mourned three years since the October 7th terror attack that killed roughly 1,200 people. Daily wire contributor Tim Pierce has more. And across the country, Israelis held a minute of silence starting at 6.29 a.m. to mark the time the attack started. Saniversary is a first that all of the living hostages among the 251 taken by terrorists that day are back home, marking a new stage in the war. In Gaza, the enclave is wrecked after three years of war to root out Hamas. According to NBC News, about 80% of the buildings in Gaza are believed to be damaged. And an estimated 2 million Palestinians still live in the enclave, mainly supported by aid from the U.S. and others. Meanwhile, the fighting is less than, since a fragile agreement was reached last year between Hamas and Israel. A former senior CIA official has pleaded guilty to defrauding the federal government of nearly $194 million, associate producer Wyatt harm says the story. David Rush, 49, admitted in federal court to one count of wire fraud. Prosecutors say that while holding a senior post and top secret clearance, Rush invented government authorities, including a fake special access program to disguise his spending as classified work. 145 million in wire transfers went toward a luxury real estate, including four Florida homes, plus watches and at least one car. When the FBI searched his home in May, agencies 298 gold bars that cost the government about $46 million, plus roughly $2.1 million in cash, all of which he agreed to forfeit. He also admitted lying about his background, falsely claiming degrees from Clemson and Renselier Polytechnic Institute, and misrepresenting his military service. And admitted that in late 2025, he revealed a clandestine U.S. human source to an unauthorized foreign government official, a disclosure prosecutor say could have endager the source and U.S. personnel. The foreign government hasn't been named. An internal CIA investigation led to the case, and NBC News reports Rush was fired. Republican Senator Susan Collins clashed with her democratic challenge, or Troy Jackson, in a debate for Maine Senate seat on Tuesday. Here with the details is Daily Wire Reporters Act Jewel. Jackson stepped in to replace disgraced former candidate Graham Platner after a series of scandals over his past social media use and alleged abuse of women sunk his campaign. Collins and Jackson clashed over issues such as voter ID. He required to show ID at the polls, yes or no, Troy Jackson. No, as a working longer, many times I went to the polls without my ID, no, Senator Collins. Yes, only Americans should vote in American elections. I don't think that's too much to ask. And the candidates got into many spats over their records. In the U.S. Senate and Jackson's as a state lawmaker. Here's one over Collins vote for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. You know, eight years ago today, Maine women, I know many of them came to your office and begged you not to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, but you did it anyways. And then he overturned Roe and you still say that you don't regret that vote. So I guess what I'm curious about is what will it take for you to admit that you were wrong, especially whatever Kavanaugh went out and did what he did. I mean, and you don't regret that today. So what will it take for you to admit that you're ever wrong? Well, first of all, when I evaluate Supreme Court Justice nominees, I always look at their qualifications, their experience, whether they're fit to serve on the court. That's Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the famous Justice said it would be inappropriate and violate the impartiality of a judge for any nominee to predict how he or she would vote on any issue. I clearly don't agree with how Brett Kavanaugh voted on Roe v. Wade. Jackson accused Collins of being a rubber stamp for President Trump. Here's Collins' response. He has said that I vote with President Trump 95% of the time. He is using a study that looked at only 30% of the votes. If you look at the study that looked at 90% of the vote, you will find that drops to 72% when President Biden was in office, I voted with him 92% of the time. President Trump is in San Antonio today campaigning for Republicans as the midterms close in, and he's bringing Kim Paxton along. So she'll produce her Brooke Morgato has more. Still serving as the state's attorney general, Paxton is the Texas GOP Senate candidate, And he's in a tight contest with Democrat James T. Calorico. Democrats view Texas as a possible opening in their push to retake the Senate. Congressional candidate Carlos De La Cruz says on X that he'll be at Trump's San Antonio event, too. He's challenging Democrat Johnny Garcia in the newly redrawn 35th district, which is where the rally is being held. Notably, Governor Greg Abbott says he's sitting this one out, citing a scheduling conflict. This is Trump's second Texas stop in about a week after he visited Denton. A new poll shows Republicans leading Florida's races for Governor and Senate. An NBC Telemundo survey conducted last week has GOP representative Byron Donalds up seven points over Democrat David Jolly in the governor's race, while Senator Ashley Moody leads Democrat Angie Nixon by ten points. Nixon, who is aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America, won a surprise victory over the consensus Democrat candidate Alexander Vindman in the August primary. Both Republicans lead among Hispanic voters, the block that helped President Trump flip Miami Dade County in 2024. Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center is urging residents from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle to make sure they have a hurricane plan in place. Isaiah's would be the first Atlantic hurricane of 2026 after September passed without one for the first time in 32 years. McDonald has some legal trouble ahead for its alleged use of AI to determine prices for franchisees. Prosecutors say that using the AI tool violates antitrust laws and has resulted in unfairly inflated menu prices for customers. A McDonald's spokesman said in a statement that the complaint is filled with inaccuracies and we will vigorously defend against this lawsuit. The fast food chain denied setting prices with AI pointing out that most franchises are independently owned and are free to set their own prices. The company said that it does provide franchises with tools to help with pricing, but they're optional. The lawsuit was filed in a federal court in Chicago last week.
