Trump announces the construction of a new golf course in D.C. and Macron leaves the country as France burns. I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire Executive Editor John Bickley. It's Monday, October 19, and this is Evening Wire. Federal agents have launched a sweeping voter fraud crack down in California. They're seeking more than two dozen foreign nationals accused of illegally registering to vote, with many allegedly casting ballots in U.S. elections already. The operation comes as the Trump administration presses California to review a list of more than 20,000 suspected non-citizens on its voter rolls. One of those arrested was Omar Alexander Munoz. He's a 72-year-old Balisi and national accused of falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to vote in multiple elections between 2020 and 2024. In response, California governor Gavin Newsom has accused the Trump administration of using its "politicized justice department to suppress voters" in a "desperate attempt to interfere in California's elections." Several up-and-coming socialist Democrats say they don't plan on impeaching President Trump a third time. His daily wire contributor Tim Pierce with more. Two DSA members were likely to be in the next class of House lawmakers say they don't plan on trying to impeach the President again. In fact, they say a third impeachment could actually help him. Malakiros and Colorado and Daria Liza Shavaliye in New York are left-wing even for Democrats, but they told Politico that they're interested in meaningful accountability. Daria Liza, do you support impeaching the President? You know, I support accountability, but my only question here is that that is something that Trump himself seems to want, and so my question is that actually going to be meaningful accountability for the Trump administration. So, Malakiros, is impeachment one of the tools that you think Democrats should use? I have to learn more about what the case would be. I think he has committed multiple impeachable offenses without question, but I want to make sure, like Daria Liza said, the accountability has to actually lead to some material changes. Asked what kind of accountability the DSA members would pursue. Here's what Shavaliye said. Congress needs to actually grow back into its own power, right, and take accountability for the things that it is supposed to be accountable to. Things like the power of the purse, right? Why are we still funding these foreign wars? Why are we still funding so much of the Trump's agenda? Why are we not subpoenaing so many of the people who are profiting from his corruption and grilling them and getting answers for the American people? The terrorist mastermind behind 9/11 and two of his accomplices lost a bid today to reinstate dead plea deals to try to avoid the death penalty. The Supreme Court rejected the request from Khalid, Sheikh Muhammad, and two of his co-defendants, Mustafa Al-Hasawi and Walid bin Atash. The court had been asked to overrule a former defense secretary's decision to withdraw plea deals that would have allowed them in to avoid a death sentence. The trio had cut an agreement with military prosecutors back in 2024 to plead guilty to 9/11 crimes and receive life imprisonment. But Secretary Lloyd Austin withdrew the deals days later and removed the official in charge. The men are scheduled to go to trial in 2028. President Trump announced that work on a D.C. Golf course would begin immediately after a tussle over tree removal with a federal judge. The interior department began renovations on the East Potomac Golf Links course earlier this year, work that removed hundreds of trees. Last week, Judge Ana Reyes ordered the Trump administration to stop any more tree removals until at least October 26 in a heated zoom hearing the Biden-appointed judge berated the Trump administration attorneys for not notifying her ahead of the tree removal. Reyes had asked for notice before major changes were made to the course after a green group and two D.C. residents filed a complaint over the president's plans. The president responded on truth social that work would continue and that Reyes is a "crazed lunatic whose courthouse tapes will reveal may be insane." President Trump has endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his tough re-election bit, Foreign Affairs reporter Cassie Akiva has more. With the Israeli election a week away, polls show Netanyahu and his allies in a virtual dead heat with the opposition, even if Netanyahu does hold onto power, some polls show that he would likely be left with a shaky coalition at best. The Prime Minister's favorable ratings have taken a hit amid ongoing military action in the region as a response to the October 7th attacks, hovering around 40%. This is the first time Trump has issued anything close to an official endorsement of Netanyahu, but it's unclear if the nod from the President will be enough to push BB over the finish line. Here's an interesting health story. There's been growing research around weight cycling, the familiar pattern of losing weight, gaining it back, then starting the whole process over again, or fluctuating as many refer to it. An Australian MP is in critical condition after being struck by a car in what authorities say may have been a deliberate attack. What does that jewel has the story? The Australian MP was walking outside her office earlier today when she was hit head on by a vehicle. Haines was airlifted to a hospital where she remains in critical condition. Australian authorities later announced that an unnamed 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the incident, which they believe was intentional. Haines has been an independent member of Parliament since 2019, voting across party lines on many key issues, as well as serving as Deputy Chair of Australia's National Anti-Corruption Committee. French President Emmanuel Macron is under fire in more ways than one after he was filmed cheering in a private box at a concert the night before France erupted into its most violent riots in years. On Saturday, masked mobs hijacked a nationwide day of protest, torching government buildings, polluting the stores and battling police in Paris and the rest of the country. France's Interior Minister now says around 2000 people have been arrested in more than 500 police and firefighters have been injured. Critics online have likened Macron to "near-o-fiddling" while Rome burned. The French President posted on X that there is "no room for violence in our republic." But notably McCrone left France and landed in the middle east this morning where he plans to spend the next three days negotiating energy deals. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hertz will miss the rest of the season after doctors discovered more serious blood clots than initially diagnosed. The team says he's clinically stable and is being treated with blood thinners and is expected to make a full recovery without long-term effects. Hertz will remain involved with the team but cannot return to full contact until he's off the medication. But in 2025, President Trump joined the fray, pledging his support for the team with a post-reading quote, "long live the Mesapeake with chiefs." Then the Native American Guardians Association sued New York, publicly stating its intent to take the case to the Supreme Court. In January of this year, court documents revealed that the Board of Regents planned to formally announce the partial repeal of the mandate in November, which the Mesapeake would district sees as a major win. But Rial named the 1989 Civil War drama Glory as the highlight of his career. He said back in 2012, quote, "It was the most touching screenplay I'd ever read. I didn't have many scenes with Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman, but to be part of that cast was a highlight of my career." Rial leaves behind a career that spanned more than five decades and a memorable place in one of comedy's most enduring cult classics, "What would you say? You do here."
