The FBI seized former Congressman Eric Swalwell's cell phone over the weekend as part of an investigation into potential criminal activity. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pierce has the story. According to the New York Post, agents met the disgraced ex-lawmaker at the San Francisco National Airport while others carried out a search of his Washington, D.C. home. The FBI reportedly seized a number of devices and other evidence. The news comes as Swalwell faces multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, including rape by a former staff member. Swalwell's political career collapsed during a run for California governor earlier this year. The FBI is currently investigating a case of sexual misconduct after the allegations came to light. On top of those allegations, digging from House Republicans has revealed an inappropriate relationship Swalwell had with a Chinese spy. The DEA has joined the investigation into the death of Hayden Panettiere. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the DEA will work alongside the Greenville Police Department and coroner's office. Preliminary reports show no obvious signs of trauma and suggest a possible overdose. An anonymous source told TMZ that police recovered Narcan, a drug used to treat opioid overdoses in the apartment. At the time of her death, Panettiere was reportedly with her longtime on-again-off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. Hickerson previously faced multiple criminal charges related to domestic violence and was jailed for 45 days in 2021 after pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend. The convicted murderer of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, Carmelo Anthony, could receive a new sentence or even a new trial after the judge in his case was removed on Wednesday. Judge John Roach was taken off the case after he said in an interview that the jury in Anthony's case, quote, got it right and defended his handling of the trial. Here's what that sounded like. And whatever they say, they get it right. A new judge has been assigned to the case and heard arguments from Anthony's legal team this morning. Judge Michael Chitty now has just days to decide whether Anthony's conviction and 35-year prison sentence will stand. A new report finds that the outlets most heavily promoted by Apple News and Google News haven't endorsed a Republican for nearly four decades. The nonprofit Media Research Center tracked the top stories on both platforms and found that their most featured outlets, which include The New York Times, Washington Post, and The Guardian, have backed Democrats 31 times since 1988 with zero Republican endorsements. The nonprofit accused Silicon Valley of engineering news feeds to, quote, quietly tilt public debate, treating left-wing outlets as Americans' default news authority. Daily Wire associate producer Garrett Van Team has more. Last month in New York, a group of 14 individuals hired 46-year-old Manuel Hernandez to take them out on his 21-foot boat. Hernandez allegedly made a sharp turn, causing a mother and her five-month-old daughter to fall. Overboard and drown. A Coast Guard investigation showed that Hernandez did not have proper life jackets aboard and had also drastically overloaded the boat, which was only meant to fit 10. Upon his arrest, it was further revealed that Hernandez had entered the United States illegally when he crossed from Mexico in 2007. Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen responded to the incident, stating, quote, Once he faces justice for his crimes, we will make sure that he is swiftly removed from our country. Seattle nonprofit dedicated to cleaning up drug paraphernalia from public spaces is now under state investigation for how it handles that trash. The nonprofit's leaders say the investigation seems targeted after Andrea Suarez, who founded the group We Heart Seattle, called out her local county health department for giving out drug party kits in the first place. The group has never been under investigation before in its seven-year history. Suarez says her volunteers have devoted 50,000 hours to picking up used needles, pipes, foil, and other items that were used to clean up items from parks and playgrounds. Her group now faces a workplace safety investigation for improper handling and collection of hypodermic needles and fentanyl paraphernalia. Suarez defended her nonprofit and says volunteers are directed to prioritize their safety and use gloves, grabbers, and clothes that cover their arms and legs. The WNBA trans debate continues to heat up as protesters clash outside a San Francisco stadium. Daily Wire investigative reporter Meg Brock has the story. The protests met outside a recent matchup between the Golden State Valkyries and the Minnesota Lynx, the first significant protest scene at a non-Indiana fever game. What started as a protest in support of keeping men out of women's sports quickly devolved as counter-protesters descended on the stadium. The head coaches of the two teams also sounded off their disagreement with the original protests. Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakasi called the protest hate speech. The protest was the third Save Women's Sports demonstration at a WNBA game this week. Harry and Meghan are leaving Hollywood and returning to London.
