Google Maps makes the Lake America Switch official and Milo Yanopoulos has been deported. I'm Georgia Howe with daily wire executive editor John Bickley. It's Monday, August 31st and this is evening wire. Severe flash floods in Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park have left at least two people dead. National Park authorities say that search crews are looking for some 15 others who are missing. Dozens of people were evacuated over the weekend after half an inch to an inch of rain dropped within an hour in the park's inner canyon. The flash flood also caused serious damage to the trans canyon water line that carries water from the canyon for use in the rest of the park. On Monday, the National Park services said 40 percent of the water line was destroyed. Authorities have closed the historic phantom ranch lodge bright angel campground in other areas while emergency crews continue to search. Meanwhile in Nepal and Tibet, the death toll from the devastating flooding there has climbed past 900 and more than 4,200 people are still missing in Nepal alone, including 85 Americans. Officials say the disaster began in the Himalayas where a glacier and a rock slope collapsed with the force of a magnitude 5.2 earthquake. The resulting wall of mud, ice and debris traveled about 62 miles down steep valleys and in some areas rivers rose 30 feet in half an hour, erasing entire towns and villages in minutes. As rescue crews are searching for survivors, experts warned that a landslide dammed lake above the Nepal Tibet border checkpoint could burst and cause a second flood. Immigration authorities busted 95 illegal alien truck drivers earlier this month in one operation in Arizona's Yuma sector. The bust came as the Trump administration cracks down on states and the trucking industry over unqualified and illegal truck drivers receiving licenses. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced action against hundreds of schools on Monday. And so today what we are announcing is an emergency executive shutdown of 110 driving schools. So these are driving schools that account for 5,000 of the violations for English proficiency. What I mean by that is you have to speak English to operate a commercial motor vehicle. I didn't create that rule. President Trump didn't create that rule. That rule has been in place for decades. And we have schools that know the rule and still pass people through their school who can't speak the language. We also have shut down 160 additional schools. These are schools that in essence certified that they are qualified to train truck drivers. However, they don't have adequate space to put a potential driver in a truck and have them go around the cones and do the turns and they don't have space to even allow the truck driver to actually get behind the wheel and drive. Google began displaying Lake America in place of Lake Ontario for US users of Google Maps on Saturday complying with an executive order signed by Trump last week. Here's reporter's actual. Under the new display rules, US users see Lake America. Canadian users continue to see Lake Ontario and users elsewhere see both names with Lake America appearing in parentheses. But not every mapping platform has followed suit. Apple maps for example still shows Lake Ontario and MapQuest said it won't adopt the new name at all. Instead rolling out a tool letting users rename the lake to whatever they choose. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney responded to the name change saying quote, "The lake is called Lake Ontario now and forever." Disgraced former congressman George Santos became the first person ever hit with a lifetime ban from the prediction market Calci. The platform says Santos, who was pushed out of Congress in 2023 after fabricating his entire life story, bet heavily on whether he'd show up to President Trump's state of the Union in February, then posted false and misleading claims about his plans to move the odds in his favor, netting himself more than $17,000. He was fined over $71,000 for refusing to cooperate with the investigation and agreed to a separate $35,000 settlement with federal regulators in July. The Met Gala will no longer feature designer John Goliano during its spring 2027 exhibition event following major backlash due to anti-symmatism. Lifestyle reporter Lauren Bear has a story. Goliano rose to fame as the head designer for Dior from 1996 to 2011. That came crashing down when he was caught on video, hurling anti-symmetic slurs at customers in a Paris cafe in 2010. Former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Winter, who is a trustee for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, met with Jewish leaders in an attempt to justify making Goliano the 2027 honoree of the Met Gala and didn't nearly work to before the public outcry. Goliano issued a lengthy statement on Monday explaining his decision to withdraw from the Met Gala, noting how he was, quote, "perfectly grateful to the institution and for the opportunity." He wrote how he remains, quote, "deeply sorry" for his words and the pain he caused, acknowledging that, quote, "meaningful atonement is not achieved through an exhibition, institutional recognition, or a single public gesture. This would have been only the third time that a living designer was honored as the focus of the spring show." Federal Immigration agent snabbed political provocateur Milo Yanopoulos on Thursday. By Friday, he was back at home in the UK, associate producer Garrett Van Team has more. The swift deportation of Yanopoulos is part of a broader strategy the Trump administration is trying to adopt to move detainees out of ICE detention centers and onto deportation flights as quickly as possible. TMZ, which first reported Yanopoulos's arrest by ICE, said agents apprehended him at an airport in Louisiana, ahead of a Kanye West concert he was set to attend. Yanopoulos had previously served as Ye's chief of staff and political advisor during the rapper's run for president. Yanopoulos was also an unpaid summer intern for Marjorie Taylor Green in 2022. Dale Sanders who goes by his trail name Gray Beard first set the record when he was 82 only to lose it four years later to his 83 year old buddy MJ Eberhart who goes by nimble will nomad on the trails. Our trail nicknames actually a real thing. Apparently a through hike is defined by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy as completing each of the trails sections in any order across one year. Upon his second completion Sanders remarked that he had to kneel and pray at the summit sign saying quote I had to thank God and I had to thank my support team and everybody that got me here. He said he was lucky, quote, nothing had broken. But also mentioned, he had fallen, quote, 71 times in an attempt to regain his record. He even pinched a nerve that sent him briefly to the hospital.
