European Anti-Semitism, Saving Sinwar’s Life, and the Left’s October 7 Denial
86m 9s
Victor Davis-Hanson delivers a sharply critical analysis of Western Europe’s moral hypocrisy in its stance toward Israel, particularly highlighting Ireland, Spain, and Italy for their anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli rhetoric. He argues that these nations, steeped in histories of fascist collaboration and victimhood, are inconsistent in lecturing on morality while condemning Israel. Drawing on historical examples—such as Nazi Germany, Franco’s Spain, and the Irish Republican Army’s ties to Palestinian militants—Hanson contends that such nations have a troubling pattern of aligning with oppressors. He emphasizes the scale of Hamas’s premeditated atrocities on October 7, including the slaughter of 1,200 civilians and the involvement of 20,000 workers, while condemning Western silence. In contrast, Hanson presents Israel’s defensive response as a necessary and proportionate act, noting the destruction of Hamas’s military infrastructure and the resulting instability in the region. He forecasts a long-term shift in the Middle East, where Hamas and Hezbollah face collapse, leading to a more stable, pro-Western Iran and reduced terrorist threats. The analysis also underscores the U.S. military and economic strength, arguing that strategic deterrence and industrial resilience—such as in AI and energy—have been vital. Ultimately, Hanson warns that Western complacency, especially in Europe, undermines global stability and moral clarity, urging a revival of American principles, national sovereignty, and cultural self-reliance as essential for enduring geopolitical strength.
There's a lot of new videos coming out in October 7th, so there's 1,200 people that went in there that were killed and slaughtered by 5,000 Hamas. They had planned it, the 20,000 workers were in on it, and they committed atrocities, and then nobody, the Irish don't, the Spanish don't, the German don't. The American Left doesn't. They never say, "What would you do?" And we have the Spanish Prime Minister, who is probably the most anti-Israeli anti-Jewish leader in Europe, and then we have, of course, the present-day Italians that are very anti-Israel. It's very strange for these people to lecture on morality. Well, hello, ladies and hello, gentlemen, and welcome to Victor Davis-Hanson in his own words on the Daily Signal Network on Jack Fowler, the host, Victor Davis-Hanson, is the Martin and Ely Anderson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution. The way in Amarsha Busky Distinguished Fellow in History at Hillsdale College, he is the senior contributor to the Daily Signal, which hosts not only this podcast, but Victor Davis-Hanson in a few words, four days a week, check that out. If you haven't bought Victor's best-selling new book, number one on the New York Times best-seller list, hardcover a non-fiction. You can see it behind him. If you're watching this, the counter-revolution, the fall and rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, still selling briskly and doing well and being reviewed. Well, we are recording on Tuesday, September 29, the feast of the Holy Angels, as Victor told me earlier today, trying to outcatholicize me, and this particular episode is up on Thursday, October 1st, and we are going to talk about a lot of things related to Israel and anti-Semitism. And what else, Victor? Oh, these knuckleheads in England put me in this terrible- Yeah, I think we could have a universal exegesis of European former fascists and Nazi countries that are the most adamant and attacking Israel. Well, Spain is- Ireland? One of Spain's ministers is talking about from the river to the sea. Ireland, Spain, the Gourway's in third place on that list. Germany, people in Germany have been not too good about it, although they do sell submarines to Israel at a discount. And then I said, "Italy is mixed." Well, let's focus on the Eresh, and we'll do that when we come back from these important messages. Victor is a close friend of Dennis Prager and has had the privilege of working with his remarkable team at Prager U. We are back with Victor Davis Hanson in his own words. So, Victor, yeah, Ireland, let's- Let's you know both of us, you and I- Yes, my grandfather. Georgia Way, Johnston, who married my Welsh, 100% Welsh grandfather, Reese Davis, was Irish. And my great- go ahead. So, I was one quarter Irish and one quarter Welsh and one half Swedish. And I think that's 100% there. But I know I have Mongol blood in there somewhere. That's right. Well, dude, let's do a 23-and-me test someday. My great-grandfather was the Grand Marshal of the New York St. Patrick's Day Parade, so that kind of makes me Irish royalty. But I have no tolerance for Irish anti-Semitism and we've got it by the boatload. So, in the Irish, did you see his little video, Brendan O'Neill, you know, he writes for spiked in- Yeah, what did I- I have him in my newsletter that it was- it was really good. He said he was good. And then the other British, you know, our friend that was on the cruises, what Douglas Murray? Yes, Douglas wrote, I did a very good interview about Ireland and it was full of passion. He was really angry about it, given there are moralistic lectures to everybody about- And their history. And their history is as an oppressed people. And I was really shocked by it. And they wouldn't even shake the hands of the Israeli athletes after a soccer match. And it's going to hurt the- It's going to hurt the Israeli economy. It's in a wartime footing to begin with, and then of all these countries boycott it. In various ways. If you boycott, if you say you're boycotting products that were produced by settlement many industries, it doesn't really- They're just going to buy a boycott anything Israeli. And what I don't understand is they- There's a lot of new videos coming out on October 7, so there's 1200 people that went in there that were killed and slaughtered by 5,000 Hamas, but there was also 2,000 civilians that came on word. There was people to rape, people to kill, people to mutilate. They had planned it. The 20,000 workers were in on it. Many of them, they were giving surveillance to Hamas. They were hiding weapons in advance. And they committed atrocities. And then nobody- the Irish don't, the Spanish don't, the Germans don't. They don't, the American left doesn't. They never say what would you do? All they say is well this was earned or this was inevitable. But there hadn't been a Jewish person or an Israeli person in Gaza since 2006. And the UN had poured in 20 plus billion dollars. There's many of- most of it from Americans and Europeans to plus. And remember the Green House is Jacques where that American philanthropist gave $50 million worth of very lucrative, high-tech green houses to ship winter vegetables to a very- in a very profitable fashion to you. And what did they do as soon as they got it? They looted it, destroyed it. They'd rather have nothing than have Jewish fingerprints on it. And then they had an election, as they always in one election, one time. And so for the next 18 years they had their country, it was autonomous. They were short, of course, fuel, power, water. I don't know, 10-20% of those necessities were provided by the hated Israelis. And they left them alone. In fact, they kind of favored them. And the wall is very impressive. I've seen it in Israel. It's not a wall of iron at all, the Gaza wall. 20,000 day laborers getting three times a wage. So when somebody does that to you, then what do you do? They don't- they never tell us. I guess they mean kind of put your little hands up, like a little puppy and say, "Please, please you in. I confess to all my sins, will you give me absolution?" Because I deserved this massacre without a word. And then remember everybody that the architect of this mini-genocide was Mr. Sinwar. He's the one you saw hiding from that drone that took him out. But what you don't see is, nearly 20 years ago, he was a terrorist murder who was in an Israeli prison for murder. And he got dizzy. Jack, he had a headache. And he had a non-cancers, but would have been fatal men in Geoma brain tumor. And so according to Nicholas Christoff, who says the Israelis use dogs, and then they defy the laws of biology and zoology and make them perform stunts never being seen before to rape, excuse me, rape, Palestine prisoners. They did something avian worst, Jack. They took Mr. Sinwar in and they stripped him of his clothes and they put him humiliating gown on him. Then they put him in a sterile white room, almost like a prison, and then they operated and they cut open his head. Can you imagine that? And they removed, yes, they did remove.
the brain tumor. And yes, it did save his life, but it was so traumatic to have Jews do that to you. And he, therefore, was angry at him. So he organized October 7th. It's not a terrible thing to do is to take a Hamas torture and operate and take his brain tumor and save his life. Yes, it's a high point of gratitude of what we've seen. You know, there's something about the Irish, if I may speak broadly, a few maybe disconnected points, Victor. I mean, we know Irish immigrants here in the Civil War, they were some of the bravest. Yes, they were. Soldiers. And after the Civil War, you know, when, when Custer was wiped out, it was most of the names killed with them were. Seven Calvary was mostly an Irish Calvary. Yeah, the Gary Owen, which used to be the theme song of our show, way back. But there's a great sense of victimhood. We talk about victimhood all the time. And the Irish have it, the Irish, a lot of Irish, a live and dwell and thrill to victimhood status. They have right to be piss, which is my French, a P.O.d at England, what England, into Ireland in the, in the eight is 1700s and 1800s. But it's, it's very deeply instilled in many, the Irish and Irish Americans. And also Victor, two other things, the Irish left is, is really left. And they, they, one of the patron saints has chaired Guvera, for example. Also, the Irish, the, the, the IRA trained with the Palestinians. So there's this, this is significant connection between, that was in the Tom Clancy novel, remember? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we remember that the Irish prime minister in World War II, not only new of submarines from the Germans that were off the Irish coast, but he had been warned by Churchill. If you allow them to land, even though you're a neutral, we're going to, we're going to consider you a belligerant. And we better have an air force to stop what we're going to do to you. So they had to threaten them. And then of course, when Hitler died before the, the, he sent condolences to the Nazi party. I think he went in person. Yeah. He went to the, to the German embassy to sign the condolences. He did. He did. He did. So they were pro Nazi. And we have the Spanish prime minister, who was very, probably the most anti-Israeli anti-Jewish leader in Europe. And we know the history of Franco, who would have joined the Nazis, except the price that he demanded from Hitler, a joint invasion by land and sea of Gibraltar to get it. And all most of French Vichy Morocco, Hitler said it was an eight hour argument. And I'd rather have my tooth pulled than deal with Franco again. And then we have, of course, the present day Italians that are very anti-Israel. And we know what Mussolini. I think Netanyahu mentioned that in his speech. So it's very strange for these people to lecture on morality. I did a bait, Jack. It was one of, I've had three, three occasions on Pierce Morgan recently. One was with a fanatic professor from the Middle East who was, I thought, just spouted lies. The second one was from a Chinese Communist who was parading around as a disinterested professor in Australia, who told us that Mao Zedong did not commit any mass murderers. I got so angry, it was right after, not too far off my operation with the first one, my heart rate went up. I had my Apple watch, 135. The second one was only 125. And then yesterday I did yesterday, or maybe it was Monday, I debated a democratic socialist professor who gave me the standard Marxist exegesis that the United States was hopeless. Its economy was destroyed. Socialists were taking over. Europe was going to be socialist. And then every time I tried to politely keep calm and said, could I just say something lowest poverty rate in history last month. Highest per capital family income at 87,000 in history. Your socialist communist China is $10 trillion smaller than our economy despite four times of population. Your socialist EU with a hundred million more people is also $10 trillion smaller than our economy. And the third quarter, federal bank of Atlanta revives 5% growth, they think. Economic growth. Record numbers of orders for computers, heavy durable goods, etc. Record for an investment on employment 4.1. Just something the other day, Victor, about this maybe mentioned the steel factory. Yes. And I would yeah, monster investment. 15 billion. So I was trying to tell him, and what was the socialist? Everybody should, I think pay attention to this because it shows you what will happen if they take control. The first thing he said is they do three things. And this fits Saeed to it. First, it's ad hominum. What do you do? You're ignorant. You don't have any credentials. Okay. I'm a second thing. They're arrogant. I'm a PhD. And I have a university position. I'm an economist. Second thing. Third, they're vulgar. You have your head up. Trump's blank blank. And peers was just watching this. And I said to them, I said, is this serious? Is this a joke? What is going on here? I couldn't say a word without him interrupting. And I'm not going to go on that show. I tried to just, were you asking peers that live while this? Yes. Well, he was yelling and screaming. Well, I was, yeah. He screamed for five minutes. And then it was my turn. And halfway through, he interrupted. He said, you're just making up all this data. And I said, you can find it. It's out there. It's in the public domain. You don't believe we had 140,000 jobs. You don't think the poverty, you're lying. It's all doctor. Your GDP is all wrong. And then I said, and then he started, you know, you don't have no credentials. You're not educated. I'm a professor. You have your head up blank, blank, very vulgar. And peers, that's what he does. He invites people on. It's kind of like a politicized version of Jerry Springer, you know what I mean? And he never tells you, he never tells your Megan's a wonderful person that books for me. And he never tells her what I'm going to do. He said he was going to, this was the first time after the book was published. So I thought we were going to discuss the book, but it had nothing to do with the book. You just mentioned it one time. And then it was Lucille Lebray and he got, but he, so when you go on there, I'm not an extremist, but he thinks that if you get a Chinese communist apologist or an American professor living in the UAE who hates Israel or you get a communist socialist person who will scream and yell, then I'm supposed to what refute, but you can't talk to them because they're complete ideologues. So it's not, you think you go on there for the benefit of our listeners and us who on the conservative side to try to get out in the public domain that these people are completely bogus, erroneous, but you can't because it's blood sport for these TV shows. And they don't, they don't, you know, I don't want them to be on any one side. I would just like them to say, please do not interrupt the other speaker. Please no ad hominem attacks. Please get your facts straight about your own credentials versus the other persons. If it guys be in a jerk, turn off this microphone. Yeah. Which I think some people would like to do to me, but Victor, before they do for Pierce Morgan, because I want to refer to him again. But first to our viewers and our listeners, if you've studied enough history, you start to see a pattern. Nations don't lose their way overnight. They drift through debt and division until one day you realize the foundations you thought were permanent were never permanent at all. Today America is spending at levels once reserved for wartime. We've normalized deficits that would have stunned earlier generations and policymakers now debate whether the only path forward is more intervention, more printing, more distortion. But here's the historical truth. Every society that pushed its currency beyond discipline eventually paid a price. The wise though they never waited for collapse they prepared for the correction. And that's why so many thoughtful Americans, especially those nearing retirement or in retirement, are reallocating part of their wealth into something that has outlasted every paper experiment in recorded history. Physical gold, not a speculation, but as

History rewards those who take the long view, and we thank the good people from Allegiance Gold for sponsoring Victor Davis-Hanson in his own words. Victor, somebody, Big John from West Virginia sent me a link to X of Pierce Morgan, Mason, Megan Kelly's show, and this gets back to Israel. Let me just read this headline. This has been to Bunk, but days before October 7th, the UAE leader warned Netanyahu that Hamas was planning war, but the Prime Minister did nothing with the info. So this is a report, I'm not going to read the clip from the article, the headline says it. It's been to Bunk, the UAE says this never happened, but still this is now, this is out there again right before Israel's elections, and some folks on the right are giving this lie attention, and any thoughts on this? I don't like to get inside an election of another country, but I do think that Netanyahu did the almost impossible. Before October 7th, we talked about the ring of fire and the igniter of that ring of fire, and they were considered all powerful. Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis. Today they're in shambles. Maybe the Houthis are a little better off, but they talk a great game, but at any second, either Israeli and United States could send them back to the Stone Age if they wanted. Hamas is in disarray Hezbollah. So there had been rumors that something was up, and all the people around Netanyahu of all different political persuasions in the military and the permanent government had heard them, but they've always heard them. It's like Yom Kipper on the eve. They heard, you know, they had intelligence. Gold of my ear had intelligence. And they told Gold of my ear, we think there's the third army is massing, and they believe it or not are going to try to go through Sinai. And she said, that's impossible. Everybody said it was impossible. Moshe Diane said it was impossible. Everybody did. And then they said, we think you should preempt like we did in 67. And she said, the Americans have a standing policy that we cannot preempt a major war. So if they heard that, and Netanyahu, let's say that he did know it, and he wanted to attack Gaza, that would be politically impossible for him, or been any Israeli leaders at vis-a-vis when you had a Democratic president in the White House, they would not have allowed it. As it is, they cut ammunition and bombs off from them. The other thing is there's only two people who know the truth, and that one is the UAE government, and one is Netanyahu. And both of them had denied that, and the people around them have had denied it. So the people in this country have to at least tell their audience, there is a rumor that they knew about it, but they did nothing. But the purpose, the question I have, why is, why on the American right does that resonate? What is the purpose behind confirming something that is idle speculation? What do you want to prove by it that Netanyahu who has got this fierce reputation as a hawk, was weak? Or what? That he wanted it to happen? I think that's the key, isn't it? That you're saying that Netanyahu wanted the Gaza terrorists to go 15 miles inside Israel with civilian and military forces approximating 7,000 and butcher, mutilate, kill 1,200 Jews so they get to wipe out Gaza. That is crazy. And even the Arabs are denying that. So there's always scuttle but about a war. There was scuttle bit, and I would like to say to Pears Morgan and Megan just open a history book or Tucker. Before, after Pearl Harbor had books, they removed the head of native operations. And the argument was that FDR knew that the Japanese fleet was out there, and he told them not to report that in advance because he wanted to go to war with Hitler, but he couldn't really get an excuse. So he wanted the Japanese to attack us, kill 2,400 Americans. So then we could, you can say he was lax, you can say he was reckless to move the seventh fleet from a defensible San Diego home port. In January of that year, 41 all the way out in Pearl Harbor and expose it, you cannot make the argument that FDR did that intentionally so that we would lose a sizable amount of number and get people outraged to go to war. The same thing is true of World War I. And it's always that way. And I think they should realize that if they have evidence that the UAE spokesman, and I don't know why he would deny it unless he was telling truth. Maybe he thought, I mean, he's more likely being part of the Muslim Arab community to think what happened was better than not. So what would be his purpose in denying it? Maybe the Israelis wouldn't help him. He didn't care about that. They trashed him. Every all of them trashed the Israel and they you in the other day. So I guess it's just I don't know. I can't think of a reason other than maybe he thinks it would be good to have Israel as an ally now because Iran is starting to weaken. I don't know. But it's part of this narrative, Jack, that the Iran war is lost. It was stupid. It's a disaster. And then when you try just to I said this on here, you just try to just say the following. We understand it's unpopular. We understand in every war there's mistakes made. We understand we probably should have continued 38. But it was a risky thing to do to do it in a election year. So it wasn't that Trump wanted to do this. But he had intelligence one that they were developing missiles with capability to hit Europe. And we know that was true after the Diego Garcia launch. And we also knew that there was enough fishable material to make eight or nine bombs and they were getting very close. And there was no way to stop them because they were dug deep down. And we thought we got them off. But they had other facilities apparently like pickaxe mountain. So the point is that I don't know what is picked. Yeah, the point one of the points is what's good for the goose is not good for the gander like so we have intelligence that this would come to harm us and Europe. But we're not supposed to act on that intelligence. That's okay. But Israel is not supposed to and that is to be condemned. And I've had this conversation about five interviews. And the rights has called this an endless forever war. And the left says it's a lost war. So I just wanted to define those terms. The war was 38 to 39 days. Since then we have the normal tit for tat negotiations that we have with the Houthi everybody. So it was not kinetic 19 people have been tragically killed. The war quote unquote whether it's kinetic or negotiations has been going on for roughly seven months. That is you know 210 days. And in that 210 days the accident rate of the United States averages one fatality a day. That's tragic but it happens. So we in that period I haven't checked the data but if these yearly statistics are correct we lost about 210 lives to accidents. We lost 19. In other words the accident rate is 11 times higher than the war theater death rate. We haven't put one ground troop in there other than to save somebody. We are not going to do that. This isn't Afghanistan the 20-year misadventure. This isn't even Iraq. This is not five trillion dollars.
thousand dead, 50,000 wounded. They've damaged some bases, and we have two or three hundred people with wounds. Most of them have recovered. So my point is this, in terms of damage done versus damage suffered, it's not like any war we've seen. We have destroyed, for the most part, the nuclear, industrial, military complex, and its command and control of the most powerful terrorist military machine in the Middle East for the last 50 years. That's what he did. And right now, and you can argue we should have done it earlier, we have the toughest blockade, embargo, sanctions, freezing of bank accounts, we've ever done to anybody. And they are absolutely broke. The currency is worthless. This is an unsustainable. If we just bomb the rail lines and the freeways into Russia or China, we could starve them. We don't want to do that. But they cannot import parts for their machinery, and they can't export oil for cash. That's a fact. So at some point in the next few weeks, this regime is going to do one of two things. It's going to see the writing on the wall, and it's going to contact to the extent that they can communicate. All of their subordinate commanders that have drones, missiles, rockets under autonomous conditions hidden, probably underground, and they're going to say launch them and hit the golf. And that will maybe shock Trump into negotiating. Or they're going to say, I kind of give up. I kind of give up. You can kind of have the straights open. Let's go back to the Obama deal. Let's go back to where we were with Biden. It's going to be one of the two. But it's not going to be the status quo. This is unsustainable for them. So we have to be patient. And the fact that he chose to do it before the midterms tells you that it was a political risk as well as a military. And I think it's going to pay off in this sense. If this government falls, or if it is so neutered to be inert, that's the greatest development abroad since the fall of the Berlin Wall. It means the entire golf coast. The six golf nations are free of an existential threat for the first time in 50 years. It means it is Israel is too. It means that they will be close. It means that moderate regimes do not have to worry whether they're Jordan or Kuwait or Saudi Arabia or Egypt. They don't have to worry about their Sunni minorities being stirred up. It means that terrorists, that nobody wants, nobody wants Hezbollah on Lebanon. Nobody wants Hamas in Jordan. Nobody wants Hamas in Egypt. None of the golf states want except God or the Houthis. They're going to be completely inert. They're going to have no money. They have not, they don't produce anything. They have no oil. They have no income. They have no industry. They're parasitical on Iran. And then the big beneficiary, you're going to see the emergence of the Iranian people that we knew existed before 1979. And they're very capable, very bright people. And they're going to create a very stable society so that the straight of our moves will have on one side a pro-Western stable government. On the other side, the sheikdoms that are now staunchly pro-Western. And China and Russia will be the geostrategic losers. And that's going to happen in months if we stay the course. And I don't really care what Robert Kagan says, the war is lost or all the democratic demagogues. That is the fact. And a lot of people are rooting against that fact because they're wedded through thousands of verbose speeches and rhetoric and blunder that this is lost. It was horrible. We can't do anything. It's a forever war. We've suffered enormous loss. It's cost 40 billion dollars. Right now, we're looking in California at about 100 billion minimum for welfare fraud, for our hospices, COVID, money, homeless, you name it. So it's a lot of money, but compared to what we have wasted, it's nothing. And I don't think anybody's getting that message across. So we get all this conspiracy theories that fill the vacuum. Well, Victor, I have two things to ask you about that. First, you are, and our listeners and viewers should know, you're a close friend of Dennis Prager and you've had the privilege of working with his remarkable team at Prager You. You've appeared in several five-minute videos that have reached millions nationwide, remarkably, more than 60% of Prager You's audience is under 35, the very generation, which most needs are enduring American principles. At a time when education and media too often erode, confidence in our country, Prager's series stands firm in defending truth, reason, and the idea is a Western civilization. PR, A-G-E-R PragerU.com/VDH and give generously today. And we thank the good people from Prager You for sponsoring Victor Davis Hanson in his own words. Victor, if you or I were to die from some nefarious foreign bad man, the odds are that it would more so be from an Iranian cause than it would be from China. Well, a lot of people died from coronavirus. I've made it, I have to retract that. Or from Russia. I mean, Iran really is the, it's a matter to people, right? Well, I mean, well, if you count up the marine barracks, they blew up. If you count up the embassies in Africa, which they blew up, if you count the embassy in Beirut, which they blew up, if you count the shape charges they sent in secret to terrorists during the Iraq war and to a lesser extent, the Afghanistan war that killed, we know they killed 500, I think Jack Kane and others felt they've killed over 1,000 Americans. And what did they've done? Worldwide, they blew up a synagogue in Argentina. They have blown up and killed hundreds of people in Europe. So yeah, absolutely. They tried to kill the Saudi ambassador right in Washington, DC, till it was broken up. And a lot of these terrorist organizations, which we call militants, have Iranian banking. So the world will be very different without them. And the Iranian people will take care of them. I don't want them to kill them. But if you look at history, what happened to the Jacobins when they did the same thing, they hijacked a revolution. And then they started slaughtering their own. Well, they didn't end the Rose Pierre brothers were both guillotine. And most of the ring litters that Jacobins didn't make it out. If you look at the Vichy French, all the clerks in mid-level that cooperated with the Nazis, if you look at what the French people did, I don't approve of it, but they took the law into their own hands. They killed over 20,000 of them because they felt they had been tortured by them. They had been oppressed by them. They'd been killed by them and that they were turned over to the Gestapo. And the Jews were, of course, in France. So the reason everybody that they haven't fled, they haven't, they haven't given up is because they have nowhere to go. They're trapped. And they know that if they give up, they're going to be slaughtered by the people they slaughtered. Just like what happened to Ilyann Omar's father, he was part of the Said Berry genocidal regime. He was a colonel in that army and he was active in that army. And that 10-year dictatorship killed probably 200,000 people of the Isaac tribe, a rival group that wanted to break away from that dictatorship. And when he fell, everybody knew that they were going to have retributions against the people who had killed 200,000. So what did they do? They fled. Where did they flee here? So we don't even talk about that. That's taboo under political correctness that Ilyann Omar, who calls Israel genocidal every day, may have had a father who was involved in the carrying out of what we could call a genocide. And many of the Somali community were backer supporters and officials of that genocidal regime. And that's why they fled. We don't even talk about that. If it was World War II, right after World War II, there were thousands of Germans that either were prisoners of war and the state here or they wanted to immigrate. And guess what? J. Edgar Hoover's FBI checked out all of them. And about every week they would find a prison guard and then not see me.
machinery or a clog and a Nazi wheel. And they deported them. Right. And I wish they do that to some of the Somalis. They should say, we want to know anybody who worked with the Said bar very regime because you're a war criminal. And yeah, we still have an active department of justice. We do not see. We do task force. So hey, Victor, one of the the thing I'm mentioning, Robert, oh my gosh, what's his name from A.I. Kagan. Kagan. I have to believe you listen to complaints, but I think the biggest complaint may be that Donald Trump is involved with this. I mean, if it was another president, I don't know that we'd have the, it's all lost. I went through that in the counter revolution. I urge you all to read it because I documented every, every trope, every theme from the left. Ultimately, the source was Trump. And it was to get Trump, get Trump. I even think the A.I. thing. All of a sudden, we have a September surprise that A.I. some mid-level guy from Silicon Valley says, the world's going to be destroyed from A.I. Bill Gates goes, well, I wouldn't quite say that, only a billion. And they're all from the left. And they want us to get terrified that Donald Trump's endorsement and advancement of A.I. And by the way, nine out of the top eight out of the top 10 companies in the world in A.I. are ours. But they want us to feel as I wrote that this is another population bomb or nuclear winner or global warming in a foundation by Obama's house and Hawaii and his nan-tucket. Excuse me, as Martha's vineyard mansion will be overwhelmed by rising seas. And it's all ginned out because Donald Trump, A, they can't stand him and they want to blame him for any problems with A.I. But more importantly, this is very important. They know that A.I. is explaining a lot of the robust economic growth. And it's coming to fruition on Trump's last two and a half years. And that is why the Wall Street Journal who despises Trump and has been writing all these articles, if you look at the last week or so, their article is, well, there's record orders for this. And there's record orders for that. And the Atlantic, the Atlanta Federal says that. And this maybe could be, in theory, might be, of course, is possible, true. And it's, but it's because of A.I. A.I. has just greased the economy and it's going. And I think they want to tell everybody they want us to stop A.I. And A.I., remember, is not quite like nuclear weapons, but it's like nuclear fission. There's a good part of it that creates nuclear energy and there's a bad part that is dangerous. And after World War II, there were a lot of people. I thought Robert Oppenheimer was well intentioned, but people like Oppenheimer wanted to have a consortium, global consortium, the UN, the UN to be, that had met to be the custodians of nuclear weapons. That would work about is, about as well is turning A.I. over to the Paris Climate Accord or WHO or the International Criminal Court or the UN Commission on Human Rights. Or if we stopped nuclear weapon production, the Soviet Union detonated a bomb four years almost to the date 1949 and August, they would have used it because they were engaged in a worldwide imperial agenda. So my point is that we have a, we have a, a prior example that can teach us. There's only one country that has the ability really to dominate A.I. and that's us and the Chinese. But there's only one company country that has the ability to dominate A.I. and to be the world's custodian of it. It has a free press, it's transparent, it has a consensual government. And that's us. And that's why we have to develop it so that we doesn't fall in the hands of either a bogus world government. We're hearing more and more by the way that the UN Commission on Refugees was knee deep and Hamas employees. And that will be the same thing with any of those groups. We don't want to have them in control of A.I. We do not want China in control of A.I. We want to be preeminent and so that it's not abuse and we can deter. We can tell the Chinese. We can tell radical Islamists. We can tell Russia, don't dare use this for the type of weapons or you're going to be, you're going to regret it. And deterrence will keep the peace. And that's something to remember. And the Democrats are not on there. If you have a vote, if you're worried about A.I., that is a reason not to vote Democratic because not only do they want to stop all the A.I. centers. And I have I have legitimate concerns about water here in the Aaron San Joaquin Valley, falling water tables. I would make an incumbent that they have to recycle their water and be self-sufficient in it. I have worried about the grid when we're paying record high kilowatt prices. They should have to supply not only their own power, but help the community in which they're based with their power. But we have to be preeminent in it or we're going to really pay a terrible price. It'll be like a ran getting the bomb if we don't. Is this building, which will be the world's biggest building? Oh my gosh. I can't even remember my wife's name today. Elon Musk is building in Texas. It's like the size of three central parks. Yeah, it's bigger than the Pentagon. It's got over a million millions of square feet. Yeah. I think they break ground in December on that. So something like that is he, you know what? That's a very good point, Jack, because Elon Musk is like nuclear weapons in A.I. He's a rare genius that is not only brilliant, but he's an actualizer. He can take theoretical concepts and then he reifies them into material things very rapidly, much more rapidly than the government or his competitors. You want a person like that on your side. You do not want him in Europe or especially China or Russia. And you think Davos, the Davos. Every day I walk around, every day I look at these insane people who are posting things about Tesla and screaming about how awful is. And I just look around and I think, wow, I'm out here and I had use Valley internet, use internet. None of them worked. And here I'm talking to you and it's crystal and it's Elon Musk. It's Skylink. And then I'm thinking, gosh, I'm depressed. NASA is just a bureaucratic mess. We gave up on everything. And even the Europeans are going to and then all of a sudden this guy comes out of nowhere with a rocket twice the power of Saturn 5. And he restues our people from the space station. And he's got more satellites launched every year and in orbit than the world combined. And he's on our side. And then I think he's boring machine is now talking about working in Texas and Nevada. And that neural link may be able to give people with spinal cord severances. Yeah. A second chance. He's done so much good for the world. I don't really care. Let's hate him. Let's hate him. Yeah. I hate that envy. I really do. It's just especially when I hear people like Jasmine Crockett talking about him and people like that. And I think, or Bernie Sanders, what have you ever done to anything? You have never created any houses. That's what it's done. Hey, Victor, speaking of AI, AI can clone your voice for your signature, even create fake documents that fool experts and criminals are using these tools right now to steal from you. How? It's called title fraud. Your property records are public by law. Your name, your address, even your signature. It's all sitting in a database. Anyone can access today. A cyber scammer pulls your records, uses AI to forge a transfer document, files it with your country, county, excuse me. And on paper, they're the new legal owner of your property. Then they can borrow against your equity or even sell your property long before you realize anything is wrong. That's why we recommend home title lock. Home title lock monitors your property's title 24/7, alerts you of any changes. And if you're a victim, their team of restoration experts will spend up to $1 million restoring your title. So once the last time you checked your title records, you can do it today. Go to home title lock.com/victor to get a free title history report plus a free trial of million dollar triple lock protection. So you can make sure you're not already a victim. And folks, there are thousands of victims out there. Don't join that crowd. So go to home title lock.com/victor or use the
link below. And we thank the very good people from home titled lot for sponsoring Victor Davis Hansen in his own words. Hey, Victor, before we take a quick break and we're going to end up the show today with some thoughts on current politics. But I did want to get your take on this case in the UK, where five British nationals terrorists who were going to bomb this. Wait, I'm kind of up just a second. I'm sorry. I'll go ahead. Did you say terrorist? I'm in the legend. I should even say no. They're called militants. Militants. Excuse me. Excuse me. Continue. Yes, they were arrested Sunday at Royal Air Force Fairford Base, which is 90 miles from London with three vans full of quote unquote non-viable explosives. I don't know what they were. That was, but they were let out on bail already. And what the hell does that say about Britain? What does it say about Europe's commitment to fighting terrorism that these five characters are caught and immediately let go? I think it means that if you're a politician and you're on the left and your popularity, this government and the prior government is about 10%, 11%, and the Muslim population, while it's not as large as that of Sweden in a percentage basis or France or Germany, it's probably getting close to 10%. But more importantly, it's concentrated in these big cities where your labor constituencies are the strongest. You're not going to win unless you convert your signal that you feel. It's kind of like George Casey. Remember when Nadal Hassan Nadal or whatever's name was the corp, the major who was a psychiatrist at Fort Hood shot 13 people and killed them. I think he wound in 19 and was yelling Alu Akbar, that's why he did it. And most of the people, all of them had been disarmed in the military cafeteria at the Fort Hood Base. And George Casey, I think, was chairman of the Army Chief of Staff. And he said, well, it's very regrettable. But it would also be just as regrettable. If, if we lost our DEI program and we had, you remember the, the comedian, I kind of liked him, but he had a tragic life. People were unfair to him. Norm McDonald, he was in Saturday Night Live. Norm McDonald's has to be one of the top four or five funniest men ever. You remember what he said? What he said, about 9/11. You're not at the time years later. You said the tragedy. The tragedy of 9/11, of course, is if we, we might have a rise in Islamophobia. And he said, if we had a bomb in it, it took out the world. It would be terrible because we might have a, a greater suspicion of the people who did it. So yeah, I don't know what to say. I do have us as an American. I think there's a subtext there that part of the problem is it was an American, it was a joint base, but American base as well. Right. And there's a lot of resentment against the United States there over the Diego Gasara Garcia and the use of basing. And the Europeans have never really explained that adequately. Spain, Denitis or multi-billion dollar base. Britain did, Italy did, in Sicily, Germany's Aerospace, Britain and Diego Garcia. And they couldn't answer like three follow-up questions. Is it in your interest that we take out this horrendous regime that has conducted terrorism in your continent? And you have to at least, you're bribed to use the straight of hormones because you can't really criticize them or you're afraid they'll board your ships. Is it in your interest? More, let's say, then going into Chad that we helped you French or more bombing Kadoffi into smithereens, which we helped you British and French do or it's more in your interest than it was in ours to help you go to the Falklands. So it's all one way that that's what it is. And so that's what it's aimed at. This is an American based. They're saying, oh, somebody to quote Ilion Omar, somebody did something somewhere on that day. And we don't know who they are. They're just a young frisky bunch of British gents, good, honest students, probably enrolling at Oxford. Yeah. Victor, I don't, I wonder if my, on the Italian side of things, my, Pisons and Castellucci, Almagiori would think, what they probably would like Americans, they probably do like Americans, but the leadership, the elite of all these countries of Canada, we finally mentioned Canada in this show. We've never talked about Canada, but Canada, the European countries, there's a great resentment and envy of America and it's the same thing with Israel. As long as as long as Jews got killed and they were displaced, they were in eccentric bunch of brilliant people, but they're, you know, it's what Charles de Gaulle said on the eve of the 67-day war, when Israeli officials went to him and said, we need parts for those mirage jets and we want to buy some. And he said to them, well, you're a tragic people with a tragic history. I'm very sorry. In other words, your, your role is to be killed. Yeah. And that's the way it was. And all of a sudden, the last 15 years, you go to Haifa and there's cranes everywhere and it makes San Francisco look like a mess. It's spotless, it's booming. You see Jews, they're happy, they're busy, and they're powerful. They have 10 Nobel prize winners. They're on apologetic. And it just says, but your Jews, you have to suffer. You have to be victims. You have to let us be magnanimous to you and be paternalistic. You can't be robust and powerful and and treat people that hate you the way that they deserve to be treated. And that's what a lot of it is. It's envy and anger that they're powerful. Yeah. I didn't click on the headline and I got to go back and find it, but saw something earlier today about fertility. And Israel is crazy. It's 2.8, I think. Yeah. And despite everything, the storm, the bombs coming in, can you imagine living in a place that you're getting, you know, raining missiles on you and yet you think life is positive, life is great. I want to bring children into this, this world. So, you know what it is? I'm marveled out there up there. Go ahead. I was thinking the other day read an article again about J or Tolkien. You know, he came out of the trenches of World War I. He saw his whole Oxford cohort wiped out at the psalm, et cetera. And he saw the rise in the thirties when he was sharding the Lord of the rings with communism, threatening people in the 1930s. That was sore on the red power. And then he saw that the the bull work of it had always traditionally been Germany. He had no affection necessarily for Germany, although he was a scholar of Germanic Anglo-Saxon English languages. And Sauramon was the traitor who had joined the Russians. He was more refined in the book. He was animate, not just a shadow. And that was kind of like the Molotov Ribentrop pack. So that is a very pessimistic book. It starts out that way. And Gondor is sort of the the Constantinople of the novel. It's the last bull work of civilization. And it's there to preserve everything behind it. The Shire, Rohan, and everything. And traditionally it's lost its king. It's shrinking in size. It's military is not up to it. They're vastly outnumbered. And everybody talks about Gondor. It's kind of like we always have the French army in Europe. That's what they said in the 20s. The bull work of democracy. And it's a very sad. And then you know, it's saved at the last moment by these savages, the Rohan horse riders. Kind of Scandinavian maniacs. They kind of ride down from the hill. Right. Men of the Easter. Yeah. It's kind of like the great Polish charge at the second siege of Vienna. And that's kind of what they look at America as. They're kind of savages. And they're very, very strong. And we kind of look at them as the Gondor on the front lines. And they're failing. And we try to tell them you're Gondor or you're Constantinople, the window of the West in the east. You're right on the front lines with Africa and Asia and you're in the Mediterranean and the east. And we gave you some bad ideas. But we corrected them like DEI and open borders and illegal immigration and radical green energy at the expense of fossil fuels and infertility and disarmament. We tried that. It doesn't work. Now we're robust because we refuted that. Our borders closed. Our fertility is recovering. We our military is robust again. And we're using with the greatest producer fossil fuel.
and history, learn from us. We don't want you to be weak." And they think, "Wow, what are you? Who are these arrogant people telling us what to do? We have quaint little villages. You have ugly shopping, so we're not going to do that." And then when it gets tough, can you help us bomb Libya? Can you help us in Chad? Can you help us in the Falklands? That Milosevic is right on our border. This is in Europe, he's committing genocide. Can you help us? Can you fly 90% of the NATO missions for us? And now we have Ukraine and we don't have any armament. Can you come over here and help us? Because you kind of savage and you like war and you do all these crass capitalist things like make a lot of money. So you're over here. We'll guide you. Macron will come over and we'll get all these people, these sober and judicious people. And then all of a sudden this Trump comes along and you know he's Rodney Dangerfield in catty shot. He is. And he just shocks the aristocracy at the golf course. And he said, "We're not going to do it anymore because we hear what you got to do. We're going to get out of NATO unless you protect yourselves. If you don't want to use natural, we'll send you natural gas, but you're going to ruin your economy like Germany and Britain did. And you got to close your borders. You're going to be overrun by people who hate your guts." And they think, "Who is he to tell us that?" Look at that tie. Look at that skin. Look at that hair. Look at that queen's accent. How dare he? We would prefer a sober and judicious and John Kerry, who speaks French. He's much better for us. Oh, you take back to school with Rodney Dangerfield with Porton Mellon, which is the Rodney Dangerfield character. Oh, you know you go back. Bombay, Dr. Bombay, these stuff up for a professor. In the case for Trump, I think I was one of the first to say was Wily Coyole versus Roadrunner. I mean, they thought that was the left Wily Coyole. They're so clever, they can in this little BB BB BB. I'm gone. Oh, Fanny Will's BB. Oh, Jackson Smith BB. Oh, Jeegine Carol BB. Alvin Bragg BB. Latisha Dame BB. Take me off the ballot BB. Wily Coyole, he's almost got his hands around his neck. And then he, for assassination, people want to say BB, it's envy and it's anger. And I can't explain it. But the bottom line is we do not, we like Europe. We like Canada. We like Australia. They're part of the West. We want you to be strong to help us because we have existential threats in China and radical Islam into a lesser extent with erasions. Well, Victor, we're going to take a little break and when we come back for our final, a little segment of the show, get your view on some of the earish sentiments people have towards these forthcoming elections. We'll do that when we come back from these messages. Many Americans are going to have a big wake up call. We have never seen net migration as high as it has been in the last few years. This year, there have been more people coming to the UK in small boats than ever before. You did an extreme thing to the country. Britain is facing a migrant prime epidemic. We don't actually know where they're coming from, who they are, how old they are. Why would you let in millions of people who are undead if not to change the country from within? There is no other word for it. Demographic replacement. England's a blue thing for America. It's coming. It's just a blue thing. Thousands of daily migrant crossings. A political earthquake threatens to reshape America. We are showing there is a new path for politics in our country. Not all cultures are the same. You cannot bounce shitty out. America is a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of immigrants. We're a nation of immigrants. The immigration crisis. Watch now on the Heritage Foundations YouTube channel. We're back with Victor Davis Hanson in his own words. Recording on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026, this episode is up on Thursday, October 1st, Victor's website, The Blade of Perseus. Check it out. Do subscribe. $65 a year or 650 a month. If you just want to test drive it, why would you go there? Why would you subscribe? Because twice a week Victor writes an article that's exclusive to The Blade of Perseus. And once a week he has a video that's exclusive. And you can check all the exclusive ones back through time. So much of what Victor writes is very evergreen. Plus, there's tons of free stuff. So check that out. The Blade of Perseus, VictorHanson.com. And if you're on X, Victor's Handle is @VDHanson. Victor Davis Hanson Fan Club is on Facebook. It's not official, but they're great people. And official though is VDH's Morning Cup on Facebook. So okay, Victor, we have elections coming up. There are lots of people who are planning or saying bad things, miserable outcome, negative income out there related to Donald Trump. It's Donald Trump's fault, it's a tetra, et cetera. What are your thoughts as we are now roughly a month away from Election Day? Well, I'll go through five known unknowns. But before I do, I have detected Jack, a slight erosion in views of the midterms. There was a real clear politics by a leftist today. It's can the Democrats, will the Democrats blow it again? Carl Rove had written a very inflammatory article about how he was going to vote for his first Texas Democrat. And then he kind of contextualized that by saying after he said that Trump had lost the midterms in every column almost. His latest column was maybe we're wrong about the midterm. And then today Doug Schoen and an associate wrote an article that shows the data is all on the Democrats side. Trump's low popularity, 39 percent, historical precedent, and generic seven to nine points favoring Democrats. And then he ends it with, but something bothers me about it, the whole thing. Kind of like the 2022 election when we thought there'd be a red wave and the Tea Party, I mean, I don't know what it was. There was some residual Tea Party candidates. It might not like they were in 2014, but it didn't happen. So the first unknown is that of the last 80 years, 39 of 41 elections go to the out party in the White House. And when you have narrow margins like the Republicans do, they lose. So his history says, unless there's an event like 9/11 where George W. Bush was very popular and he won the 2002 midterms and picked up a few seats or it's 1934 and FDR says, the job is only half done. I know it's not working, but I need these seats for the new revolution of the New Deal. And he won them. But other than that, there's not very many, much evidence that you can defy history. So the odds are on their side. Number two, the polls are on their side. But let me just say about the odds. Like I said, 9/11 defied the odds and the Great Depression defied the odds. So if there were something to occur that would defy that like a sudden collapse in the Iranian government, yes, that would be an event that would change everything. It would be like the fall of the Berlin wall. Well, it happened before the election probably not. But if you today oil was at 92 dollars, when it hits 60, even with the kind of monopolistic control of oil by the oil companies, the price gets down to $3. And that can decelerate really quickly if people panic and they bought two expensive oil and they want to unload it. So these things can happen. Number two are the polls. And they all show a wipeout. But if you add two things about them, you look at the Senate races. They're all with a few exceptions, maybe in Ohio, but Maine and Minnesota and Michigan and Texas are all within the margin of error, which then begs the question, how accurate are these polls? And we saw with Saeed, they overestimated his primary victory by nine points. And I think her name was Hong, wasn't Wisconsin, the governor, the crazy woman, Hong or Hong. She was supposed to win by eight. She lost. So what typically happens with the left wing pollsters, and that's 90% of them, they tried to gin up momentum for fundraising and voter turnout by saying to you all, your team is your team is 10 and oh, and there's only a few seats left. And the bleachers, you got to go get them. It's not like, oh, well, the team is oh and 10. What's the use of going to the 49er game? So they want that. And then the thing to watch is the week, the last week of the midterms, because usually what happens, the smart polls start to readjust and they'll say, oh, there was a wave, it was quick. Trump, Camela Harris was going to win. And now it's almost, she's only at two points ahead of Trump, because they want to preserve their reputations.
So afterwards they can say, "Well, I got the winner wrong, but I was in the margin of error." So you got to watch the polls. Number three, Trump is sui generis. And if you had said in 2016, a guy with no political experience is going to run and win the primary, they'd say, "And Victor, what happened to Pat Buchanan? What happened to Ralph Nader? What happened to Ron Paul? What happened to Ross Perot?" They all had a lot more exposure than this guy. He was just a celebrity. They had political affiliations. Or Ross Perot had more money, actually, in real dollars. And it didn't work. So how can this guy do it when he's off-putting? And he did it. If you read the counter-revolution and I have rock bottom, the first chapter after January 6th, you won't believe what people said. I'm talking about Lindsey Graham and Mike Mitch McConnell, what they said about Trump. Talking about polls that said, "Ronda Santos was 30 points ahead." I'm talking about people who said he would be in jail, 100% bank on it. None of that happened. So he's a wild card. He's got basically 30 days, 35 days. And he says he's gonna campaign. He's got three or four hundred million dollars. He says he's going to spend and people like Elon say they're gonna spend a couple hundred million. So that's unknown, unknown. And then we don't know what the price of oil is going to be, as I said, and we don't know what the September economic reports. But if they're like the August, you're gonna have a month, two weeks of people saying, we had phenomenal growth, inflation has moderated. GDP is robust. What is wrong with the economy? That's what the argument. Other than affordability that was not our fault. Which finishing this monologue, I would say, it all depends also on three things. Can the Republicans get three messages across? Number one, we don't want to wreck the economy into a recession to get a 20% deflation to correct the 20% aggregate inflation of Joe Biden. Five, 0.1% every year, Trump's first year, 2.5. Half and wages were increased more than 2.5. So what we're trying to do is half that inflation rate, but more importantly, get a wages higher than the inflation rate. So in real purchasing power, we get out of that 20% aggregate inflation we inherited and the 30% on staples, housing fuel, insurance, vehicles, et cetera. They've got to get that out. What affordability is. Second, they've got to address the around war and say, and price of oil has gone down from 105 to 92, 93 dollars. When it hits 60, you get $3 gas. And the straight has 80% open yesterday. And the United States military has done wonders to transfer oil from tankers to confuse the Iranians to increase their air defenses. It looks like the straight is going to be open. If they can get 100% in the next two weeks, that will affect gas prices. If gas goes from 450 down to 350, it'll have an enormous effect. Number four, they have to see if they can get out the boat because that's going to make the difference in the end. And that means the 10 million people that Obama counted on not showing up that won him the elections over McCain and Romney did show up in 2016, and they did show up in 2024. And they did to tell you the truth show up in 2022. If they can get all those people out, not to sit out, which most people do in a midterm, he's got a real shot to defy history. And then finally, if that regime, again, if that regime falls, you'll see emulation globally that we haven't seen since the Berlin Wall. There'll be lamentation in the Syed campaign. And Hassan Piker will start, you'll have a nervous breakdown. And Montgomery will have flags that have massed. That's no doubt about that. But otherwise, there'll be jubilation. I think Ilya and Omar will have a nervous breakdown if that regime collapses. Let us pray. Sorry. Let us pray to the angels whose fee status-- I have been researching art angels. Yes, well, I think-- Somebody saved me. I think it was the combined prayers of our audience, your advice about art angels. St. Raphael is the patron of healing. That's funny. You said that because that name came to me. I'm not kidding you. And I see you, Raphael, Raphael, Raphael. I don't know why that is. I know why. I had an older brother who was a very brilliant guy. And he wrote a novel called Angels Awake. And he's very-- he has a master's in fine arts. He wrote a lot of articles. He's a novelist. And he was a mystic. That's where we always disagreed. I was a Western and pure person. I needed facts. And he'd say, Vic, he would say things like, look at that over there. That hawk went right across our path. And he dropped a turtle on the pavement. Have you ever seen that before? Things like that. Or we're on the tractors. I think I've been here before. And I thought, come on, come on. And as you get older, you go under anesthesia three times in one year and 10 hours in one day. It affects your brain. I'm afraid. I need to get back to my empirical. But there's something mystic that I keep. Can't explain. Something mystic happened to you in Palo Alto. Something mystic happened to you in light barriot. Not light barriot. Libya. I never was overtly Christian. But I can remember waking up. Excuse me. I went into the Libyan red crescent. They dumped me. My two minders dumped me. And I had been sick with 105 temperature. For two days, I had a thermometer, because I didn't feel well when I flew. And I walked into the red crescent. They said, you have a ruptured appendix. And you're going to die, because you don't have an AIDS test. And we can't do anything. It's two in the morning. And then I don't know how it happened. And AIDS testers showed up at eight in the morning. And then the next thing I knew, they said there's no surgeon that knows how to take out in the whole country. And the next thing I knew, they said, a guy just-- we called the hospital. You can't get in. It's too crowded. But an Egyptian doctor just went home. He was up all night. He's going to come over in his pajamas and operate on you. I said, is he ever taking out a ruptured? Nobody's taking out appendix. And then I went in the room and that was filthy dirty. And he was smoking. And there was no anesthesiologist. And they had no anesthesia. And then all of a sudden, the sky showed up an Iranian student. And he knew how to use ether. They had two big tanks of ether. And he was in another room with a long tube on the floor. So the smoker didn't ignite it. And then the Pakistani nurse spoke English and was translating. And as I was ready to go out and I woke up three times and the ether and I saw this gook on my stomach. But anyway, she said, you must now convert to Islam. I said, I'm Christian. And she said, that's OK. And she said, you must do it now. Pray to the prophet. I said, I'll pray to the power of Jesus Christ. Nothing really ever happens evenly in this world or the next if you think you did more good than bad. And she said, yes, yes, Jesus is our prophet too. Great. You'll be fine. And then I woke up and I was completely black. And I thought I was dead. And it was late in the evening. I don't know how it was out because I guess I got operated finally at about two in the afternoon. But the sky turns on the lights. And he holds this plastic bag. And there is this ruptured appendix and 8 inches of my colon. And I swear, Jack, they were jet black. And he said, look at the bottom. I cut off where it turned red. And I said, can I go to the bathroom or is not now impossible? No, no, no, no. You can go. I made sure you have no bag. Just remember one thing for me. I said, what is that? When you're going to live, but when you go back in the United States, they do these silly things called colostomy or something where they put things up there and never have it because you have scar tissue. Look at this. I've never had one. Sorry. You know, I was at a dinner last night and sitting next to a gentleman Robert Just who was a talk radio. He's a history of talk radio. And he was a huge fan of this podcast. Good. And he said, these, when Victor talks about his life, it means so much to us. Not that they don't want you to talk about the politics or policy, but they've been a series of misadventures. They really have. They're all self-induced.
I knew I had something wrong, but I didn't want to cancel going to Libya. I knew I had something long all last year and I didn't go in until August. I knew in Greece I had a huge kidney stone. I didn't go in until it tore my ear to her and I had to be sent home. So they could have all been avoided if I had been sober and judicious. Victor, you're not taking the victim route there, so no, I'm not. Let me read a couple of comments from some of our viewers and listeners. Lisa from YouTube, Victor, you were truly cherished voice of Lisa. This is River Dillon writes this, "When you mentioned receiving that disturbing phone call from someone behaving in a frightening and erratic manner, I became deeply concerned for you and your family. Please take good care of yourself and know that you are in my thoughts." Then a Joe, Dr. Joe writes, "BDH, in the early 80s, I did accounting and finance work in your area, Farmsville, etc. for CPA firm at Los Angeles. I recall fondly, Selman, Vissalia, especially, when last there, I wish I'd taken the time to find you an American original. Thank you for all you do. Dr. Joe, a lot of people do take things. A lot of people have found me and I will say that I've never been rude to any of them. Even though I've been startled, if somebody is out in my driveway and I come out and talk to them, I try to be – the only thing I'm a little worried about is when people, we went to dinner the other night and people come up and want to talk. My wife and I were in a very liberal area and we were in peace, I think, and the guy confronted us. I think I told you that. He ran it about Israel, he really tried to instigate a fight and although I had cancer at the time, I think I would have handled myself admirably because he looked like he was a little roly-poly. Okay, finally, as a roly-poly person, Mary, Joe, Barbosa, writes, "Victor, your world observations are so spot-on and succinct, succinct. I need to keep a scorecard to manage it all, love listening to you with my morning cup. Preying for your continued good health, you are a gem shining brightly in our dark world. So many people, right?" I don't know about that, Mary, but I really enjoy our listeners and I want to reiterate again that in my mystic notion, I'm beginning to agree with my brother, older brother, more and more as I get older, but I could feel something was there because I just remember waking up in a startled look at the anesthesiologist like he woke up and then when I went back, I didn't know what had happened to me for two days, but I just was like water off a duck's back. I just knew I was going to get better and then the more they told me you lost three leaders, you had six transfusions, they were all different blood types. We had to get platelets. You're probably going to get, you got to watch out for a pneumonia, an a-fib and tachycardia and, okay, okay, I don't need that, but I'm not going to get any of it because I'm going to live because I have more podcast. I'm living for our podcast. That's right. The indestructible Hanson. I don't know about that, but I had a fierce desire to live and I think that came from everybody's prayers and the Archangel. This is a plural, okay, yes, okay, Victor, as ever. You've been terrific. Thanks for all the wisdom you shared. Summary:
S. military and economic strength, arguing that strategic deterrence and industrial resilience—such as in AI and energy—have been vital. Ultimately, Hanson warns that Western complacency, especially in Europe, undermines global stability and moral clarity, urging a revival of American principles, national sovereignty, and cultural self-reliance as essential for enduring geopolitical strength.
FAQs
He argues that these countries, despite lecturing on morality, have a history of victimhood and political alliance with extremist groups, and have boycotted Israel or shown hostility toward Israeli citizens and institutions, which he sees as inconsistent with moral leadership.
He notes that while there were intelligence warnings, Israeli leaders were constrained by domestic and international policy, and that the idea that Netanyahu deliberately allowed the attack is based on speculation, not evidence.
He points to a deep-rooted Irish sense of victimhood and historical trauma, including ties to fascist movements and support for Palestinian militants, which he believes contributes to current anti-Israeli sentiment.
He cites Iran's support for militant groups, attacks on embassies, and use of terrorism as a tool, arguing that Iran has a long history of targeted violence and has destabilized regions through covert operations.
He sees AI as a strategic tool that could shift global power, emphasizing that the U.S. must lead in AI development to avoid being dominated by China or radical ideologies that lack democratic oversight.
He believes many Western nations are weakened by ideological shifts, such as DEI and open borders, and that Israel's resilience in the face of war reflects a broader need for Western nations to reassert strength, sovereignty, and traditional values.
