The podcast episode blends personal storytelling with musical discussion, emphasizing mental health awareness and self-care as vital components of well-being. Hosts share candid reflections on aging, memory issues, and the challenges of maintaining relationships, highlighting the importance of taking mental health days without guilt. They celebrate Victoria Monet’s new album, noting its rich diversity of R&B, pop, and EDM sounds, with particular praise for the emotionally charged track "Make Love to You." The conversation then turns to Quavo’s latest project, where opinions vary: while some appreciate the experimental direction, others find it disconnected from his established style. The hosts stress that artists should be given space to evolve, even when it doesn’t fully resonate with audiences. They also critique the influence of high-profile producers, who can create undue pressure in the studio, making genuine artistic risk-taking harder. Throughout, the episode fosters a warm, inclusive atmosphere with heartfelt shout-outs to friends, family, and everyday contributors, reinforcing community, resilience, and the value of authenticity in both life and music. The tone remains lighthearted and supportive, ultimately affirming that self-awareness, vulnerability, and creative exploration are essential for growth.

It's probably. I just. I just. I gotta do a great pants. I've seen a little black. It's. It's a couple of black spots. Yeah, it's from. - Yeah. - Yeah. - What's up, man? - Yeah. - What's up, man? - Yeah. - Oh, fuck you. Oh, my God. - I guess he won't hold hands. - He's fucking off. He's fucking authors. I'm telling you. - Oh, man. - Anyway, my average fine is Big Parks is in the building. - It's pop. - Pull it here. Quarry is here. Eric Sinacea, Chandler, St. Vaughn, and here, Barbara Moe, last but certainly not least. Each and every one of you beautiful people out there are here. What's poppin' y'all? - She's good. - Everything, man. - Everything. - How's it feel to be back? - It feels absolutely great. I was manned down. I'm manned down. I needed that. I needed that off there. - Mental health there. - No physical health there. - I was down, man. - I was fucked up. I was. - But y'all did down, man. Thank y'all. - And the fans loved it. (laughing) - They couldn't wait, right? - They couldn't wait to press the link. - Right. (laughing) - You be laughing about this shit too. I know you do. - Laughing about what? - Will you get that response? - Which response? - The fuck is he doing up there without Joe? - No. - You know, he like this shit. - You like this shit? - No. (laughing) - Sure it's nice to feel, right? - I think how man was it. (laughing) - No y'all, that's stupid. No, I don't, but it's good to be back, man. - Yeah, that's it. - That's it. That's all I got to say, by the way. - Y'all, y'all try to trip me up. - Y'all try to trip me up early in the game? - Just make a conversation. - No, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fuck out of you. - What I'm most thankful about today, is that we actually have people to talk about music? - We had some good, we had some drops. - Yes. - We had some important drops. - Yes. - And no one to talk about it with. - At the JBP. - We talked about JL instead. - A lot. (laughing) - I'm glad I missed that part. - Same. - I feel like you had been imperfect in this. - No, I wasn't. I wasn't. - Really wasn't. - Had nothing to contribute to the JL part. - Yeah, 'cause I was home. I wasn't in. And I hadn't watched the episode yet. And I started getting texts and calls about the episode. - Oh, you get a lot of texts. - One of those texts. - Right. - One of those texts being from Sean Stockman, shout out to him. - Oh. - He's kind of. - But when I learned what he was texting me about, boy did we kick Mark Lamont Hill's back in place. - At least 90 minutes. - Which was totally unreasonable. - And I didn't even need to see the episode to join in with what he was saying. - That's hate, man. - No, it's fucked up, yo. Like when people call you about your man, I do be one to defend y'all. But I can't fight the urge. - You don't have to defend. - People call your man, right? - I can't fight the urge to be phony in that moment. - That's crazy. - Well, what do you call him? - I got aside with whoever's calling me. - Just to spice it up. - I'm gonna start doing that. - Just to make it fun a little bit. - Okay. - He said, yo, why is Mark Lamont Hill talking music? I said, brother, finally someone who gets it. (laughing) - Your baby face. - I took. - Your baby face and Stevie Wonder takes were egregious. - No, it wasn't. - Especially when you know what Stevie has produced after the year 1980. But you changed it, right? - Of course, the '85. - The '85. But still, '80 was on the record. We didn't edit it out. - You could have just said it. - So that means they know somebody up here thought something that crazy. - You could have. - No. - No. - One of y'all up here say something like that crazy. - It wasn't that crazy. It was only one more album. But I said, I had to write, I just said the wrong album. And I corrected myself. Which you should do on a podcast. Instead of doubling down. - Your baby face, your baby face. I'll make love to you. - I didn't. - Which is where me and Shawn really bonded. - Okay. - Tell me more. - Who that love out make love to you? - I love that song. - I think his point. - It was just that people don't be fucking to it. - It doesn't matter. - And it was Bomanie's point. I said that I was making that was Bomanie's point. - What is your other mistake? - As your academia breadth. Like you should never want to echo what Bomanie is saying about music. - I mean, I think you're missing what I'm saying. I was representing his position. I specifically said I don't agree with Bomanie. I don't share that opinion. I love baby face. But here's what he was actually saying. Because if you have a podcast everybody's saying the same thing. And nobody pushing back. Then we're all just like oh yeah, he was wrong. Let's keep going. So I kept saying. - No, you started the champion. - Yeah. - I don't know what he's talking about. - I think that's the fuck to all make love to you. - Oh, I think that's true. I think to it. - To which Shawn Stonkman says not that he told me to come say it. But I just thought it was a great point. He says no black people don't fuck down make love to me. - Okay. - I could live with that. - Uh-huh. - There you go. - But people are fucking. - Oh, that may be true. - To out make love to you. - I'm not sure that I've ever made love to. - Which he says speaks to the greatness of a baby face. - Yeah, it's a hit song regardless. - It's a hit song. - Like I said, I don't agree with Bomanie's point. I just love this past hit song. - Yeah, you're right. - It's past hit. - It's canon. - Yeah, that's gone gone. - Smash. - Well here's the last hit. - Super smash. - Because I know you're messy, I hit Sean Stockman up afterward. - Oh, stop. - Oh. - He put the fire out. - I sure did. I was like, I'm not letting Joe represent you. - It's the beginning of me in trouble with Nate Wunder and Sean Stockman. - Shut the mouth, man. - And he said that he understood. And he said after watching the segment, he got what I was saying. - Oh, he did a lot on you. - Yeah. - He got my phone. - Maybe. - So, but we do have music. - We do. - We do have music. A lot of music came out. I don't know what was covered. I wasn't here. - We ain't talking about any record. - It was relaxing for her to drop something after the last project. - It's been a while. - And she said why she took her time and she had some things going on. So, I'm glad that she dropped this. The first record reached out. I loved. - Okay. - That was my shit. - Yeah. - So, I was happy that we were going to get another album. - Mm-hmm. - I'll let you play some stuff first before I give like a full opinion or what I thought of the album. - Yeah. - I mean, she was going to give more. - Which one was the first single? I didn't reach out. - Okay. - Reach out. - Okay. - And it has more. - Track 16 is your first single. It's an interesting choice. - You know what I'm saying? So, when I heard the rest of the album, I was like, okay, that's. - She covered a lot of bases on this album to me, which is part of my critique of it. But I also understand why you would do that. I mean, you got brutal on there. You got fucking. There's big records. There's pop records. There are B records, there's kind of like. My favorite shit on here is like a super musical beautiful shit, which is like the first couple records and they're scattered throughout. - I feel the same way about Tanks album that I feel about her album. - Okay. - They cover too many bases. - They cover everything. - Do you think there's too many? - It can be a dangerous game. - It might be. I'm trying to appease to all. - But I love a period. - Me too. - Me too. - Absolutely. - What an album. I absolutely love this. Victoria and my name. - I really like it. - I love it. It is fire. Covered a lot of bases like y'all said. There's super R&B on there. There's pop on there. There's the big features on there. There's EDM on there. But I thought it was all well done and pretty cohesive. - Oh, it is definitely all produced and very well produced. It's heard. So you know what the pin is doing. - Yeah. - But track two. - Track two. - Oh, come here. - Track two. She redoes one of my favorite Isley Brothers records. Let me turn this bad boy on real quick. It's record. It's called "Come Back To Me." The intro going into it is crazy. Yeah.

I like and ball mine. I don't even know. I hate this album. Yeah. I like the way. I like baby breath. I did not like walk it down. But I wasn't mad at this album. I didn't listen to the album. How many tracks was on this album? 14. It's 38 minutes long and short. It's short. About halfway through it, I was in the gym working out too. It came out and I was like, this feels like a long ass album. And this is 38 minutes album. And then he went and put the help hotel lobby record on there and dropped extended version. Oh yeah. To capitalize off of the train that's going around. Again, like I was saying. So they snatched that and threw it on album. That's track. We just run through it a little bit. This is baby breath. Wait a minute. I need more of it. Yeah. I like old Migos to me, which is kind of what I want. If I want that, I'll hear old Migos sometimes. I want a little bit of that. I can see ticks. Yeah. That's why I said, what was your expectation? It's not like y'all expected. If you were top six, seven group of all time, and then we're all we going digging up. Go to that world. Yeah. It's nice from that. But if it's y'all, this is not y'all. That's why. But this is what I was saying to y'all about that, uh, about that offset record that I played that I loved that I said I was a little worried about loving the record because it's taking me away from some of the things I love from offset records, which is a certain flow and a certain cadence and a certain bomb. So cool. You're trying something new and I like that record, but what's the direction of the album? This shit right here. I like I like my quavo on lobby. I like my like I love all that. Yeah. So to me is that I felt like Pharrell should have did a couple of hooks too. Just because it was like. Yeah. And there was a couple of work quavo was sounded Pharrellish and it's like you should have had Pharrell do that. Just to break up some of the monotony. That's what let me know. I wasn't bugging with how I was feeling about the project because at some point during this recording, if he was being made, Pharrell would have ran in that booth. Pharrell would have inserted himself on one of these records with ad lib or chorus. Something to say, yo, this is gone, gone. Yeah. But he didn't do that. Yeah. So for me, that kind of reaffirmed some of the feelings I was having listening to this project. When did your guys give artists room to change their sound and accept it? All the time. So because if you saying that Joe goes back to the bag that I like quavo in this bag, doesn't that make it redundant? When this is like, okay, I want to hear something new and we going to accept it. They have to come up with a bop automatically in order to accept that transition. I think it's just a difference between liking it and not liking it. I don't think there's nothing wrong with him trying that and the perfect person to do with it is for right. Except that means looking forward to the album. I mean, looking forward to the more project. I mean, I'm a listen, still listening to it now. It's just too much R&B for me to pay attention to it. But I'm still listening to it and I am looking forward to what I want to get from it. But if it don't work, it'll work. This is why I played this thing. It's the same shit. No, it's not. It's not the same as this. I'm talking about. No, it's not. Yes, it is. No, it's not. It's a classic record. Y'all love this. Y'all, that's what this is. This is nice. This is not that bop. It's similar. It's not. It's not. This is great beat. It's the same shit. No, it is not. The BPM or whatever it might feel the same to you. But solidically, it's not the same. It's not the same. Very far from. It's very, very, very far from. I was going argue about this shit. I'm not arguing. I'm not arguing. You're just agree. Well, first of all, right, like what I'm saying is not setting stone. Like, I may hear this shit in a month and find something I like. Agreed. I couldn't have been more wrong about taking me through there. I couldn't have been more wrong about that record. So my word is not like the Holy Grail. Music is subjective. When I listen to this album, I don't hear where it's going to come on and I'm going to love it. Like, I'm a gigantic feral fan and a gigantic fucking Migos fan. And I've listened to this album four times trying to love it. And I can't. And I think that's the problem. Why? Because you're looking for Migos. No, I'm not. You just said I'm a gigantic feral, gigantic Migos fan. I think that's what brings it to hell. But I'm saying, if I'm quavo, I don't want to make something that sounds like a Migos album. Is quavo albums don't sound like this? There's not a quavo album that sounds like this. You keep saying Migos, which cool, but go to quavo. Quavo's last album was dope. This is a different sound. Quavo albums be dope. Yeah, but I got to go back to what Flipp is saying. You got to allow me to keep trying to do something different. Now, it might not work to us. But when it doesn't connect, you're going to get this. Also, I don't think that this is like -- It's not like it's a groundbreakingly different album. It's not like you tried to make a house album and it didn't -- You know what I'm saying? I would respect it if he was trying something completely different. I'll be like, "Shit, all right, you tried, it didn't really work." This to me felt like just not good. For me, for me. That's what's up. I mean, I think -- I could be wrong. I think -- And again, you want to try something new, go ahead as part of the artistry. I think it's really, really, really difficult to listen to beats from high-profile producers. It can't be. I think that's one of the toughest things to do in the music industry that is never spoken about. Why? At DSSD. He's right. The pressure that comes with it. No. You got to pick someone. No. Because someone like Pharrell or name any A-list producer, none of them beats is about to be whack. But some are different than others. You know what I mean? The quality level is all 9 plus out of 10. But that 10 -- But you might not even be getting an A-folder. You know what I'm saying? Gravel's getting A-folder. Gravel could have whatever producer. The producers I'm talking about. I don't know that. You won't be able to tell when you're not getting an A-folder. Yeah. Exactly. There will be no way to know when the floor is tumbling, is pulling out the reject tracks. The floor is very high. Your ear will have to be perfect. This is to point that out. One, right? Because there's multiple things that play here. Two. I think there's a whole -- Let me say what I'm saying. High-profile producers are hypnotizing. Especially in the studio with them? Especially. In just their presentation when you're in the studio. They made this studio together the whole album? I don't know. I don't think so. Well, to kind of confirm what I'm saying for me, after I heard the album, and after I had this conversation, I'm having a draw with myself. I saw a picture of Gravel and Ferrell on a yacht. In Italy. And I said, "That's the problem." That's the problem. Get away from each other. No. When I went to go -- What do you mean? When I went to go do my second album that never came out to grow shout to the heads out there, I went to see Tim Bowen. You're going to him. That means you're going to their studio. Especially in O5 or whatever you're saying. Yeah. With their staff, their employees, their store runners, the best studio here. With their Ferrellis outside. With their phone calls that they're taking with fucking shit.
and whoever and now that y'all gonna make you suckable. - Hey, you know what? For you, I'm making something from scratch. (mimicking) - You're trusting their track record. - Uh-huh. - The credit scores are. - Yeah. - It's the highest. - And the farest. - Even if you don't love what's going on. - You got one. - You kind of feeling like all of this shit has potential. - Because of who it's from. - Yes. - Not only, and not only do you feel like it has potential. Because of who it's from, you understand the push that it should get from your label, from the radio, from the streamers, from whoever you looking to get your spins, from Pharrell is helping. Timberlin is helping. Dr. Dre is helping. DJ Premier is helping. Fucking any of them, any of them that you name. And Premier is more fucking boombat. So you can take him out of this. But you know what I'm trying to say, I'm just saying. It's real tough for you to tell that person in that setting where everything is beautiful and everything on the bigs. If you go to a bum nigga house in the hood, shit might sound good on the bigs. The bigs is gonna make it sound good. - Can I ask you a question? Pharrell right now is worldwide. - Then there's that. - So he's worldwide at this point. His influence is past music. He's now in fashion. So he steps outside and it's just different. Do you think he walks into the studio and tells Cuevo I need you to get a little bit of that as your own artist as well? So we're gonna go for a different sound. Not to just appease the people over here. But now when we go to Italy, now when we go to these different fashion spots, all the shit that I'm making for here, while they might not connect right now with the American audience, everywhere else is gonna pick this shit off. - Come here, come here, come here, come here. - Come here with his yacht in Italy and see some of this. - And I feel like if there's someone you do it with. - Yeah, because Cuevo was always proposition as a position, sorry. He was always positioned as the person in the Migos who would be the standout star. - The star, yeah, the Beyonce. - And I think a lot of people still feel like that about him. - I think also maybe what could potentially have happened. - He was position, he was position. - Within the industry, up until all things. - I think within the relationships, I'm not talking about what's actually happened musically. - Okay, musically, okay. - I'm saying relationship wise, people still like that. - He was supposed to be Beyonce, yes, yes, yes. So if I'm for real and I'm going in there and I'm going based off of that potential, I'm going off of the fact that I actually like this person. I actually want to see some things happen. And I feel like musically and influence wise, I can take him to that next level, which has passed all the Migos sound that people acquired. - I'm trying to get you to see some shit. - And this might connect. - It's a great point. - That's a great point, but I don't think it's true in this case because I didn't hear they, he got fucking Stevie Wonder to say some shit on the clips album. When he wants to get in his, I'm going to push this even further back. It looks, it feels different. - But Stevie Wonder's doing that with the clips connects. - Yes, I understand. But I feel like it's different. - I'm going to assume that that for real makes clips projects with more love. - Yes, definitely. - This is my home team. - That's kind of what I've, now that we're talking about it, feels like it may have happened. It feels like maybe Quavo went to Paris or wherever the fuck they was at and did a bunch of songs, maybe five or six. - And then the sound ended up being like, I guess this is the direction we're going. - Yeah. - And it doesn't feel like clips even talked about it up here. Like they went back a million times and fixed shit. It doesn't feel like they did that. - That's what I'm saying about these high profile producers, like the party's point. - The scheduling even. - Yeah. - You got to come here. - This is what we got. - This is what I know. - I'm here and we got to do it on my track. - You've got these two weeks with me. - Fashion week. - Whatever you get in these two weeks is what you got and you'll never see me again. - Not you'll never see me. - Yeah. - I know what I'm saying here. - This is it. - I'm done. I'm out of here now. - This is the album. - It's tough, yo. - Who better to take that risk with? - That's what I'm for. - I just see a little bit of it. - I hear ya. - I hear ya. - Maybe son. - It might not hit you up. - It might still hit. - And it might still hit it. It might get him to where he needs to get in that realm. - Maybe. - And at least give him that leverage of, yo, I connected with it for real. And for real, he peed my shit. - I think it helps his profile, regardless. - I just don't think the music is necessarily, like, I can see you. It sounds like what you'll try to say. Maybe this appeals to a European crowd or something like that. And I don't know if I get that. - I'm not saying that. - It's directed solely for that. But I do think what you're going to a studio with a for real who is now working from a different landscape. - It helps regardless. - It's like, listen, we're going to go ahead. We're going to experiment. We're going to take chance. We're going to take risk. We're going to do some things. Maybe you haven't done before. And then we're going to go from there. Give me a second. - Get your chain right, bro. - And I put it on. I'ma fix it. My wife texts me and said, I had a dream. So I'm like, all right. What's your dream about? - Oh, man. - I had a dream that you left me. - I said, I did. I said, left you where? Where were we? I'm not playing that game. Where were we? Where did I leave you? And she was just saying that we were somewhere. Somebody else came and I just left a stand in there. And then like, she started to text. I'm like, my phone don't do that to start. Hey, I'm not playing that. Listen, a lot of times my wife had dreams before and they matched up. I mean, she dripped some shit. And I'm like, no. - That's where it gets tricky. - That's where you get that. You see it? You know, I had a dream that you was at somewhere with spirits. And they were whining in your head. Oh. How was that whining spirit yesterday? Like that. I'm just saying that half of all. - That'd be the question. And you can't never ask them why they heating up. Like as they deliver more facts from the dream, you'd be sitting there like. - That really is bitch. - This bitch has a gift. - No, you're a bitch. This bitch is terrible. - Yeah, you're a straightforward gift. - They're lying. - She got the shining, man. - They're lying to you, nigga, right? - To what? To get hot and it behind the dream. - Yes. - Thank you. - That's the way you guys are. - Lookin' like I'm-- - No. - Okay, she's like, right. You go through somebody phone. You find something good. - I had a dream about a waitress. - Well, let's not-- - Dundrains be on point. - Yo. - Right. - Like, how do you know where she's live? - Right. - You got an address. - I've never even been to a house. - How you got an address. - You know what we ordered that day. - Yeah. - You might have to go home and trouble. - I'm in trouble. - You got to go home and do some work now. - Yeah, you guys. - I mean, you know what I'm gonna do. I'm just going home. - Yeah. - He said just that. - I mean, I'm not paid. I have no problem. You got a lot on line about just shit. You got a lot on line. - Yeah. - I'm gonna get to it. - I'm gonna split. - Yeah. - I don't play that game with you. - I'm gonna play that game with you. - Markets are bad. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I'm saying that, you know, I want to go home. I want to talk to my wife. Since we've been good, a lot of positive things has been happening for me. Since I've been just getting along and coming home. - Coming home. - You know, being home, not coming home. It's the last time you took out. The last time I took out was. - I forgot. - There you go. - It's been a while. - Start there. - You went out for an anniversary? - She was in Trinidad. - Oh yeah, that's right. - Yeah, that's right, that's right. - But I do want to take out. I do want to take out the stuff. - You about to go with Miami and film. - Yeah. - So before you go, you should take out your list. - I got you, I think. - Why would you bring in my name with you? - I would love to. - I would love to bring in. I love my wife and my wife. She doesn't bother me. You'll link me in her own world, yo. - She can't say that. - She doesn't bother me. - Meeting that, she doesn't interfere with what I'm doing. I talk to Linky about everything. She's aware of everything. She doesn't like something, she said I didn't like that you said that, or why did you say this. And she checks me and I try to get attitude to get out of it, but it don't work. - I love your wife. - Appreciate that. - She's top on your stream. I really enjoy that. You ever just look at somebody in a party and be like. Be like, yes, yo. They're perfect for each other. This person needs that. That's how. - I couldn't be able to do without her, Joe. - I couldn't be able to do what I do without her, or I'll be alone. - I'll be alone. - And that's really all you niggas worse for you. - I don't want to be alone. - I thought about it. - Not you, I ain't talking about you. - No. - But listen, when we get to, when we get to snow for it, when we get to situations, sometimes, it's been a time where I thought that what would I do if I was alone? I don't think I'd be.
Like it's a lot of things that she, you'll be miserable going. I'll be miserable and there's a lot of things that she does that I can't see me doing as a single man. You ever see a man's queen and be like, "You love us so she's so solid, you gotta put a horn to some of this shit." He got snow, right? See when I told you, man, I told you, man. You never see a man girl holding it down. Yo, she's so great. I gotta give her a little hint. And now we all know why you don't leave your girl around yo. He already told you a girl about this shit. Look what they'll go to before they say yo, just don't cheat. Oh no, niggas don't cheat. Oh, then add that. It's not the egg. I said that. When did this one do that to you, did that? Well, you can hold me in count. I wouldn't tell me y'all about it. No, I wouldn't come in a y'all with my cheating business. Made a mistake, made a mistake, made a mistake, made a mistake, made a mistake. Speaking to non-engaged people ain't about past discresions. Once you get engaged, you guys on that couch, your record clear watch white is snow. Your record clear. So all that shit you did, all that shit y'all was doing. Once you get engaged, but your record clear a bunch of times and you didn't, it's just, it's just so behind you, man. It's just so I don't even hear that shit. Wistled by me. Okay. You better be planning a wedding, yo. Now, I am planning a wedding. Actually, actually, I did have something I want to ask y'all about before we get into the topic. 'Cause y'all know I'm slow. Oh shit. So I'm asking my brothers. She keeps scrolling and finding stuff that you need for babies. This morning's back in the fourth was a changing table. Yes, Joe. Yeah. It lights up. I tell you the baby wait got music that it plays you sit it on top of a dressing it has a little LED light It looked like some shit from the jets and some stuff that's a rich that's a rich rich that's a real table But that's what I said to keep it to keep it real with you I've never had a changing table. I've never got that I always Put the blanket in the baths and that You get to have a table. I have one. Yeah, I Had a ironed board Freeze that I don't want what do you why do you need a changing day? I have one Tell me why you wouldn't want one We use it well she kind of enlighten me to how dope it could be I'm open to it because I'm in the house just saying yes, ma'am Evie a child has to be changed in whatever room You walk to the room with the changing table is or do you change them right there in the spot? So I had two changing paths to like the portable joints Really called think I forget that company, but like the round eights figure eight kind of joints And I kept that in a couple rooms, then we had one in the bedroom And it's just to keep like like the bacteria in the dirt away from the bed and all of that like that's what she said Yeah, that's the reason to do it like it's I love to put a black light on some of these bags Yeah, no one's got Anyway, I'll get it get it you I'm good. It's fine with your dirty fingers His fingernails look nuts from here That mean that your hair and scalp is dirty, too No, it means it's just got a haircut right before I came in here. Oh, that's the only really really right as a book I'm telling you about these doctors About dirt from me or bet your food you don't think a newborn baby might want you want to be extra careful Get the changing table. I mean like if I have one I'm getting it But but to answer you I use every day dirt from you and dirt from your newborn child is not Genius dirt dirt for the baby you are decent on yourself. I'm saying bacteria is touching the baby will be harmful to the baby Not the baby being harmful to you. Oh, okay. You spent money on last year. Fuck it I just yeah, I just I'm a little bit baby all that shit What type of show what type of show no shot. They want shit from Bentley I'm trying to start you know you're trying to start arguing me. I saw one of them that J5 Open up because more than my car. Yo listen to me. I'm not exaggerating. I'm telling me I'm telling y'all as a dude to love y'all Don't come to my baby show Don't Please the shit that she going to put it on that registry bring a card Can we come to my friends? Like let her people who you say come to get the bag That's what we're gonna need to we gonna need to that's what was suggested about y'all coming together get Joe this Yeah, so we like all right, it's like yo y'all should get him the stroller. We like all right cool stroller cool. Show us the stroller What the stroller was 25 grand? Wait, who's shoulder of 25 grand? I don't want no $25 and they're gonna say but it's chrome hearts You know how that went yeah exactly how it went and they said I said the little math we was like no Yeah, I was like I don't do the chrome hearts one check this one out. This was Lamborghini Hey, check this out get this get this out my face No, the Lamborghini shit is fly I'm about to get a bit. I did see the right now just Lamborghini shit is fly the Lamborghini Stroller with the thing of Majiggy that pops off and it pops back Well, not paying seven grand for you know if I pay seven grand for for for for a stroller I'm having babies for the rest of my life. Oh, yeah, we're gonna use this motherfucker They're gonna keep on using it when you grow up. You still in the stroller Like the white people do That's a fashion get your money's worth dirty as feed Yeah, and then he put on the shoulder like this with a foot little man get mad. Stop. You got his own brakes They got the nerd to be racist Yeah, take a look at yourself. Oh crazy. Oh come on. What else we got talk about I wanted to ask you guys real quick bringing in topics Yeah, I do that sometimes. It's a pro. Yeah, I respect it. I mean, he's been killing it. She needs Nick that's what I'm saying. No, we go to be an executive meeting. We talk about this. He's been killing boy I got you. I wanted to ask because we did talk about the Jasmine God thing I know a different world being popular right now and and she's you know made her statement about you know how she's been addressed about her looks things like that and There was a really big response online, but then DL Hugley went on a publication and had spoke about it and gave his opinion on I don't know if we need to get a clip or anything, but he pretty much just said While it's mean that people are saying this is it untrue and You know just the eye View of everything. It's kind of like no one's really saying anything untrue I thought it was a little off put in the hair and say I wanted what you thought about it I think I think it's weird to say that And then say the other thing. Yeah, it's means it's mean to do it Okay, if we accept that that's true, that's mean to do it and then say, but is it true then we're doing it right? That's a percent like I don't you know what I'm saying? I don't think we need to have those conversations and at least not in public I think every single person in here if we're honest Seize people whether we at the club the restaurant the house the family reunion We'd be like what the fuck happened to auntie or uncle so-so right we always we had those conversations amongst each other quietly But I think to create a public spectacle around people I think is It's nasty as mean as even nasty coming from Yo, dog. I don't know about that. What what's the purpose? You know about what part see my thing is what's the purpose like what's your intent? So let's say for whatever anybody up. We could take Jasmine God of it. She could she just if you see somebody that wants you to look like X And now they look like why right cool What is the purpose of saying it publicly other than to ridicule wait? Let me let me be clear. I I agree with everything. I told I totally agree. Okay What is the point of saying it publicly and Even if you assume you even if you assume that you know what's going on with somebody you still don't you still don't like to say This person smoke cigarettes. They hold life that might not be all that's going on with to say this person drink They hold like you you don't know people was cracking on chat. Yep come to find out he kept his sickness from the world But everybody was saying all of these mean and negative things about him You don't know what's going on behind closed doors in somebody's life So my whole thing is what's your intent in doing that so and in this particular instance? It's only negative intent In the case of Jasmine guy in a different world. I do understand why was being asked publicly I Understand how that became a public conversation. Tell me why why you saw a different worry. Yes, did you saw it to everybody?
a theme. Yes, I'm watching it. I haven't watched it. I watched it. I watched the old one. The new one. The new one. Yes. Yes. Yes. I watched from season one, all the ways now. Yes. That's how it became a conversation. 30, it was 30 something years ago. Come on, though. What was there? No, I'm talking about the new one. I'm saying the original descent world was 30 some odd years ago. So this woman has aged over a 35 year span, maybe more. So dog life be life is very bad. I know we're supposed to be politically correct here, especially with this very sensitive conversation. However, people looked at the show and had private conversations that turned public. Jasmine Guy to a lot of people didn't look like she was in her peer group. That's what the conversation was. It wasn't people were looking at Jasmine Guy and saying she looks much older than what she is. Okay. It wasn't just her face. But Joe, this is her aren't people grew concerned. I'm not talking about the people that took this chance to say very mean things. That's not who I'm talking about. But to say, why is this a public conversation? When you put out a show that is from our childhood that was a hit and the new show got the nerve to be good too. Yes, going to be a conversation when we look at her next to Kadim Harneson and she looks a lot older. I totally understand how that was a conversation. Only on the internet that we act like, oh, where did this come from? Why are people talking? I don't I don't know. I don't know. I'm not talking about attacking. I'm talking about why that conversation was being had publicly. I'm not talking about the attacks. We know what's happening. I don't. I still don't. We know I'm not trying to be PC. I'm saying this. Everybody ages in their specific way. Everybody up here is a different age group. All of us have aged differently. So my thing is you can't really have that conversation without it having some negative connotation in it. Your dog, everybody ages in their own way. So I think at 30, 40, maybe a 20-year-old could feel like that. We all in our 40s, 50 years, old. We've seen niggas around this age. I got niggas that I went to high school with. That look 70. That looked 40. Everybody does what they do. Again, some people's life be different. Some niggas got shitty diets. Some niggas be alcoholic. Some niggas smoke weed every day. Some niggas do other drugs that are even more corrosive. I'm just saying, I don't think it's out of bounds for you to notice that. But you know why you know why we say the conversation now becomes mean. You know why we say this a negative conversation? Because if she was beautiful and looked like, I guess how they expected her to look, there'd be no conversation at all. It's only because it's not held to the standard they thought she was going to look like at this age that now people want to talk about it. Again, I'm not with the millions. So it's only to get this off. But I'm also not going to sit here and pretend like I have no idea where this conversation is. I think we get the point. I think we get, I think I see what you was saying. I mean, I get where it came from. I don't want to faint. I got no idea why this is happening. I don't think that's it. It's the way it's happening, bro. And I don't think there's a way in this society, in practical terms, to have a conversation about how someone looks that doesn't invite meanness. Even if that's not your intention. That's the hard part. There's just no way to do that. That's the part. And I feel like if she didn't respond the way she responded, I think that added on more for you to feel bad, like that added on to it, the way she responded, how humble she was, like, yo, you know, life is life and basically that's what she said. And you know, I got to get ridiculed for me just getting older. But the point that made me feel more bad by reading that response. It wasn't ignorance. She's a nice lady. My not business and mine. And again, the talking point when it comes to the reboot or not the reboot because it's not. Yeah. Comes to continue with the world. Yeah. Shouldn't be Jasmine guy. And how she looked. They really did a great job with the show. Yes, I heard. I'm saying that somebody that had no that had no plans on watching. Actually for watching it. Yeah. Yeah. I clouded you because you're like my man, Ellen. No. I'm like the Star football player. No, no. Let me let me have my dream. The better of you. Let him have it. I'm the child around Johnson. Yeah. You gotta look like that somewhere. That's my last one. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, you had your way with me the other day. Hey, yo, yo, I'm talking about to them from the music, whoever picked the music for that show. Yeah. They did it. Correct. They did it. They picked the song. That it was it was on par with the job that insecure did when it comes to just music. Appropriate for the scene from some are up and coming black artists, some are popping black artists. They smoked how they did the music. They smoked all the little nuggets that they put in there that went back to the past. The moms beefing the fucking. What a hollyberry happy. The foot rub. Ron and his contentious relationship like they they they it was just they really did a really good job and as the show continues as the show went on, I'm like, well, different world, you know, I didn't go to college. I didn't give a fuck about it. I didn't know what they was doing. HBCU, Atlanta. Who knows what the fuck they doing, but it didn't matter because there were stars on the line. So cool that y'all was doing some college HBCU shit. There were stars there that helped you transcend that. This cast, I think there were some stars in there. I think they are future stars. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. I do. I think the homeboy, the football player did a wonderful job. He's already been in the Tyler Perry movie. Tyler Perry spot him early. Let's see. I don't know what to say. They could tell the bury out with his boot thing too. He was out with friends. And his boot thing. He said, you're going to stop. He said, you said you're going to stop. All I said was they caught him out with his boot. You said you're going to stop. The last problem with you niggas out in public, with y'all little camera phones, super rich ass niggas walking up to the yacht with his little young boy. And he got a full up tonight. You don't know that after that same stroll with the opposite sex. That's his friend. Not a yacht. With that fiction. Um, um, um, tell the fake. Y'all see me at his arm around young boy. Yeah. See arm around him. Did he? He had his armor. That's where this joke comes from. I thought he just had. I thought it was like a friendly like, yeah, me. No, he was walking and had his arm around the young joint. And then when the little fan fan reporter came, he kicked that thing on the yacht. You got one smack on that. Salah Perry, yo, you that knew that dude, yo, and then he said he'll do your movie. You did. We asked you. You said you'll do it. What's your point? Nothing. What's yours? What's yours? You're a different world. And that class is clean. Oh, and that tongue is well. We got a good time. And you got to be in all the movies, boy. 20 movie. 20 movie, dude, with DC. You're being filled to build DC. Yo, that's great. That's funny. That's funny. Yo, but look to your point. Everything you said I agree with about the show. This is even more reason why Niggas was being mean because with this great show that we kind of were iffy about, you still can't focus on how great the fucking show is. You focusing on how, yeah, that's what I mean, period. DL Hugely, you have, you should have more cool as a elder statesman. I'm not even talking about him, but the whole conversation starts from him even doubling down on the shit. He doubling down on the shit. You saying what you saying, yo, what's mean, but is it? Why would you need to do that? You don't got to do that. Why? You never mind the mean people, the people that we don't know. You saying just keep it to yourself. Keep that shit to yourself. Cool. Like never used to take the wooden spoon and smack you on your mountain. You said shit. No, I have to say the Dablin. Either or. And, you know, for all this Jasmine guide talk, I took it somewhere positive. Yo, I went back to negative. And for all of this Jasmine guide talk, right, when you get past whatever your problem with her appearance may be, she was, she was 1000% Whitley. Yes. She was Whitley. Like if you just keep watching her, you'll get past that because this part can't be played by nobody. Nobody else in the world. There was one moment I didn't like to your point is when she finally got around Dawn, Lewis, Jelisa, and she made a comment about her agent too much in her show. I was like, they must have, that's sometimes you go as a script, as a director. Some of you got to pull that line out because you're almost inviting more more shit. You know, they probably know it's going to be this. You know, I don't know. See, that's the thing. Jasmine guys getting some of the punishment that Whitley should get. Yes. Like Whitley's always been a bitch. And that's my point. That's how Whitley would say, but that's how good she was in the world. Whitley is going to talk about how you look sarcastic as it was perfect for Whitley. Just, anyway, listen, the different world was great. The different world was great. I've got, I've got through it in one night. Yeah, I loved it. And yo, shout out to the quick 30 minute watch. Yeah, I love 30 minutes man. It's man at a 30 minute watch. You know, great job. Uh, yeah, great job with a different world.
- Uh, I was embarrassed, man. Watching the different world. Like you said all the throwbacks to the old shit? - Yeah. - The fucking girl explaining them to me. - That's why you should. - Oh, right, you did get it. - You did get it. - Like, relax, relax, relax, relax, relax. - I started, I told y'all I went back to watching it. I'm midway through season one now. I'm watching, but it's watching the-- - You watch it, that's it. - That's that, Terence. - It's fucked up that she's explaining them to me. - Season one? - With the bad season. - I'm watching the whole season. - Except for Lisa Boone. - I watch the season one, just 'cause I was sure it told me it was on. - She's going to YouTube. - I'm about to TV it. - What I, what I, what I, - Nigger. - Yeah? - Her. - Her. - Her. - The Hurst. - Yeah. - Like, whatever one Chamberlain was in, in Hershey P.A. that night. That's Lisa Boone. - That's Lisa Boone. - That's my lawyer. - That's my lawyer. - Still is. - It's fucked up. - His role won't skip a chance to be horny. - Sorry one, sorry one, you can't skip it. - Sorry. - I'm sorry. - You played all that, you played all that. - You're totally disappointed, yo. That you missed out on some of these things as a kid. - Oh, we always do it. - Yeah, we ain't gonna be missed a lot. - I missed a lot, man. - We wanted to know. - He didn't see different words. He didn't hear my deep, it's fine. We love him. - What's up guy? - He's gonna call the police. - He heard my, we love him. - He is. - I'm doing the same. (everyone laughing) - Yo, Mark, stop playing around, man. You're viral currently. - Oh. - Yeah. - You are currently viral for what I thought was some really touching and heartfelt content. I told you that, I told you that when I saw you over the weekend, I loved that piece. I love you and your wife's pieces around relationships just 'cause you're all a more matured in me and mine. When we talk about them, I love 'em. So to see you go viral for some, I didn't anticipate. I opened the floor to you. - I mean, it's, flip saw it 'cause the flip came in. - No, I don't wanna see you. - You're way into joking right now. - No, no, no, I was saying it. It's hard to intro your own shit, that's what I was saying. But it was weird, so we did an episode of "In this Thing" together, which is on Patreon. And we were talking about the Jasmine Guy situation. And my wife simply responded to the, could we play it? - Yeah, we could play. - Yeah, yeah. - We could definitely play it. - Of course we can. Anything is going to drive traffic to your bedroom. (laughing) - Oh, here we go. - When aging is a gift. Like we are black people in America. Like we're not supposed to live long. - They're trying to kill you. - They're trying to kill you and you survive. It is a gift. - You know when people are like, right, our life line. And again, I'm saying this as somebody who has hated the way that I've aged. I hated it. You're saying like, it gets me so, because it also felt like it was overnight. It felt like it was overnight. I had a baby and literally it was overnight. All the shit that I went through with Malcolm to have him, you know, all of it is a gift, right? The fact of being here, the fact that he's here and what I had to do. But it felt like I gave my beauty for it, which was really hard. It's hard for me to process that sometimes. 'Cause you're so beautiful to me. And I genuinely don't see the difference. - Yeah. - But I also hear you. And it's hard to know what to do with that, you know? - What do you do? - Somehow you've become like, the target in this? - It's super fucking weird to me. - And my wife. My wife has become a target in and two. So it was weird. So Instagram responses were like amazing. - How could she be a target? I'm seeing her either of you. They brought up all the clips of the old. - That became like face to it. But phase one was this. It was like, okay, Instagram responses were wonderful. What I saw you this weekend, it was like, it was still a very good phase. Instagram was all love, right? - Yeah, I'm like, yo, this was such a powerful piece. - You don't hear people share this side. This is like, this is something the greatest honesty you ever gonna hear. I was taken away. - And I was, and I was proud of my wife for her honesty. 'Cause that's a hard thing to say out loud. - Uh-huh. - And I have to talk to her. And I didn't know what the fuck to do. I did the best I could. - I don't think you had it with Greg. - Yeah, I'm about to say I'm having Greg. - I'm sorry. - I hear you, I don't know how. Like, yeah, what can you say? - They're shitin' on you? - Then Sunday comes. - So I have them. - It got to Twitter. - Yeah, Twitter is successful. - And Twitter's a different world. And it got to the man that's filled with all this stuff. Then it became, of course, I'm basically saying, I'm weak. - Cush. - I'm a cuck, thank you, even money. (laughing) - Oh, you've been reading them, honey. - That money been reading them. - This fence, you know? - This fence is been going crazy. (laughing) - You've been reading them and writing them. - You've been reading them, you've been reading them. - How and why are you a cuck for that? - So, first of all, I'm just saying she's, what she's really saying is she wants young niggas to praise her. She's, you know, how Mark feels about her. She's the only thing that should matter. How your man feels about her is the only thing that matters. If you don't feel beautiful, or you don't feel attractive, if your husband's not enough to that, means you're trying to get, you know. - Have these people ever had a woman in their life? - No. (laughing) - No, Mark? - No, and that's honestly the answer, and a lot of the times, you know. And they have these real weird ideas of how, we're supposed to respond. Or she just wants people to tell us she's beautiful. And the whole point was, my wife wasn't saying that, I don't think she's beautiful, whether the world doesn't respond to her or whatever way the world does. - She was saying how she feels. - How she feels about herself. - Yeah. - And this is something I've watched, you know, up close, this is about how people feel. And a million women are like, yeah, I felt this way after having my baby. I felt this way as I got older. I felt this way that, that, and it's not entirely gender, but most of the people responded the other way, were dudes that would be like, how dare you blame your baby for it? It's like no one's blaming the baby. - No, why? - There was also the clip where she, where you guys joked about like her preference, so what she might have like been attracted to, right? I thought it was, 'cause when I watched it, I'd watch two people who are married and in love, having humor and having back and forth and having a conversation between each other. - Real life shit, like just real, I thought that that would have been received in that way, and it was in turn like, they can't relate to it. - They can't relate to it. - Oh, she settled. - For something less than what it's just like. - Because it was used as evidence to support the first piece of it. Not the context in which it was produced, which actually started up here, when I went to the secret Muslim event. - Right. - And I said Maharshal Ali was gonna be there. And then, remember, and so it became like, and we were like joking, I was like, oh, shit, my wife has crushes, I got crushes, hers was like, interest in Maharshal Ali. And then after the auntie, auntie Joshua, the auntie Joshua fight. - Every woman in the world was watching this fight. That was the whole bit. And I was like, yeah, my wife was watching that fight too. And I was like, you know, it's just funny. Oh, your crushes, no one looked like me. We were having fun. - Yeah. - You know what I mean? - Exactly, but then it became, oh well, she doesn't let me shit you, she settled. - She doesn't find him attractive. She settled for him. And then they start piecing together other parts of this show. So then it became, and she'll answer his texts at two in the morning, and she dates her exes. And all this shit that's completely not true, but it gets virality. And when you have people who are committed to misunderstanding you or committed to misrepresent you, it gets bigger and bigger and bigger. And, you know, it's exhausting sometimes. - I don't know why people expect you. It feels like you wouldn't expect you to have a very docile, very like quiet, very meek, very like not confident woman because of who they look at you to be. For me, it's like, you know, I see your wife as a strong woman who's now willing to be open about two guys' relationship. And I think that should be applauded. A lot of men would want to like shelter their woman and not give them a voice and not let them be heard because they want to be in control. And I think a lot of people who are responding, they're responding because that's the type of men that they are. - They're virgins. - They're virgins. - Or they're niggas that like to control women and like for them to just shut the fuck up. - And probably in the corner. - And that's what they can't. - That's a big part of it. I think relationships look like domination. So even in their comments, he's like, oh, he, you know, his wife refused to take his name, which suggested I tried to give it to her and she didn't want it. As opposed to neither of us wanted that for each other. His kid's name is hyphenated. Yeah, 'cause that's how, that's what y'all wanted to fucking do. - Right, you don't have to work for me to do it. I didn't convince her to do it. That's what we wanted. That's how our relationship works and it's healthy and I've never been happy. And even though we joke about me living in a content house or me living single and stuff like that, it's like these decades sometimes really think that that's life. It's like, it's not real life, like touch grass, go outside. - Get a woman. - See it out there. - See that as a part. Go ahead. We can't have it both ways up here. There's a part up here where the show we love and praise and narratives, create narratives, let narratives run, et cetera, et cetera. They're gonna do the same thing. They're gonna create narratives. They're gonna run with narratives. And that's just a part for the course. We can't, yeah, narrative, narrative, but all the way to this one I don't like. - I'm all for narratives, you know what I mean? But that's a narrative. - I'm not saying people are wrong to make narratives, I'm just, exactly, I'm just shooting this one down. - Yeah, I'm just saying, I'm pushing back on that. I'm pushing back on that. There's a part, there's a part of us as a podcast through where, and I tell y'all, it's our narrative as part of the game, deal with it, go tuck your emotions in the closet somewhere. I would never tell y'all that about somebody in your household or your partner or your wife, right? Like there's a part where the narratives affect somebody that it's not meant to affect. - Right. - Huh? - I know what he's saying. - Wait, wait. - Wait, wait, wait, wait. - It's funny to me. - It's funny to me. - No, but he's a hundred, but, go ahead. - But even if not the time for whatever y'all try to do. - Well, even if you said if it affects your significant numbers up to you, it still doesn't make it right that it affects them. You still have a fear. We up here doing a job. And if it affects your significant numbers,
It's still our job as this department to reassure them that this is just a show. It happens, but they didn't sign up for it, but it's part of the gig. It's up to you at home. It's up to you at home to make sure it's all right and reconfirmed them, reconfirmed to them. Like, oh, nah, everything's all right, it's a show. I'm here for you. I understand how you feel, how this make you feel. But it's just a show. A part of that though, I agree with you. Now, I get what you're saying free, but when I'm saying that, I understand what he's saying, too, when he's saying that, when it comes, but what if that's not enough? What if the reaffirming that you're doing is not enough? 'Cause only you can say but so much to your lady. Let's just say your lady now has suggestions on how to reaffirm it. All of our significant others here are where that we're doing a show. And a lot of things that we say here sometimes we say it in just and sometimes the joke goes too far, but it's our job to go home and let them know that these fellas appear, love us, they don't mean anything by it and this is just a show. And anything that's offend you, we will come up here and we will talk amongst each other and we will try to have a free one. And again, I want to jump in here. 'Cause the conversation for me is not really about what the internet is saying, it's not really about the mean things people are saying. The conversation I wanted to have with Mark was what do you do now? Right, yeah. What do you do when you hear that? When you hear your partner say that and now you're aware as the guy that lives with this person who feels, yeah. Like what do you, what do you do? I wish I had a great answer, you know. This wasn't my first time hearing it. So I didn't have to like jump to attention or in that way I had to kind of keep going. I mean part of it is affirming, there's a balancing act between affirming what somebody feels and also letting them know that the world doesn't necessarily see it that way. You know the problem sometimes though, is hearing it from you is almost like. You ever hear about a husband? You're supposed to hear. You were expected to say that. You're telling me, even if you didn't feel that way, I would never know. So it don't really. Well that's why I'm saying let the world doesn't see it that way, not just me. 'Cause I think you're right. If I just say, well I think you better show. Yeah, you're supposed to, like you said. You know, it's like I had this issue with daughters. Girls go through periods like that and you have to reassure them. Like yeah, you're my dad, of course you think I'm beautiful. I was like, no baby, like the world does too, right? And you have to reaffirm that. So part of it is, and this is how it's playful, right? Like whenever my wife and I do like a picture or a photo, there's a whole bunch of, with all due respect, that, that's. Sometimes I let her, let her see a couple of them. 'Cause I don't let her read all the comments. Me and my friends don't play that. But when I get after like, you know. She says she don't like that. And she don't like that. Yeah, so it's not like, I know you don't read the comments because of that, that, but I just want you to know, like the world's not responding to you. Yeah, the world's not, they're still like, how the fuck did you do that? And so I kind of, which is probably the biggest thing that you could get to have the world is saying that. (laughing) Make no mistake. We're the world's, I'm the world president. (laughing) We are, we are the world's, oh man, I noticed, I noticed this is definitely, this is not a moment for you to even try to have a selfishness about it, but is there a little bit inherent that make you feel bad for you? Yeah, I mean, not feel bad for me, no. I've been doing this long enough to have the thicker skin. And I have perspective on the people who are saying these things. I'm not, I'm saying when you hear her say that about herself, do you kind of like turn her ass a little bit? Well, because as the husband, as the husband. That's a good question, that's a good question. You want to feel like you're doing everything to reassure your wife and make her feel beautiful and you might start to feel like you're not doing your job or. But like we just say, as the husband, it's expected of you. It's the helplessness of it, right? Yeah, because I can't do it. You can't do but so much. It'd be almost easier, I'm a fixer. Yeah, you got your car keys. Go get that gun out of the trunk. Get that Clorox bottle. Have a bottle. Yeah. Because that, that, that be part of it, right? It's like if it were a thing that could just be fixed. We can't. Anybody who knows me knows I would do everything I could. I'd run through a wall to fix it. Right. That's the thing you, you can't. And there's nothing unique about her situation. This is just part of living in a world where you get assessed by how you look. And whether people want to have fucked you or not, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And that's for people who don't live and work in the public eye. In general. As a walk through the world as a woman. That's your value. That's the value of the world of science. And as much as you know, you have other value and other things, it's hard to go through life and look that one way. And then over time, starting to feel or think that you're not being looked at that way, even though you are. Right. Right. But because you're not looking at yourself that way. Exactly. And the society hates, we hate age. Go away. Do you know? I'm sorry. This is such a serious talk. I agree with anything you say. This talk is so serious. I'm listening to it and saying, you know, ugly bitches got it all. Imagine what they don't. We just have conversation about, you know, you know, you're listening to this shit. Imagine the listener who is really ugly. Angels are feeling. They hold like that. And they know it. They know it. Bro. Yo, they're whole life. That's what I'm saying. Oh, man. This messed up. We can't say it. We can't say it. Yo, yo, yo. Yo, boy, that's fucked up. You got to look at beautiful people. Say. They look at people like that before. Yo, ugly people got it, bro. That's like the broke ball fucking here in the middle. You think you're gonna be like that before? That's like the broke ball fucking here in the middle, you're gonna say, you're lost it all. You're like, no, that's tough. I do, I do want to, I do want to shout out to you right there, man. It took a lot of coverage to go to the shadow of the mail, man. Shout out to, you know, I took a lot of coverage to go up there and do that. And, you know, we here for her and we support and appreciate the shout out to you. You can't push away from saying, please don't, don't a lot of comments to push away. We love to hear that story. There's a lot of people that feel that we're a lot of women that feel that times has changed or the world don't look at the resistance. A lot of things that come with that and how you handle it was great. That's why I don't want to crack a joke because it's such a shit that I hear. And in the group, you the ugly thing, you know, bro, is that what you think? Yeah, am I, we gonna get to that, he ain't gonna be your future. I'm Friday, we'll get to it. Yeah, bro. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, good. And his wife. Oh. I didn't know that's why I thought you met up here because he was encouraging us. You can't, man, rescue again, nigga. Who's my man? I'm just asking. Are you trying to stop me? Everybody. Are you coming to his rescue rescue? We told my this group. What's your response to that? I was asking him. Well, we told my this group now. I don't know. Why are you honest? I'm talking about somebody. I'm like, I asked the money. What group you were talking about? Because I wasn't sure. And you talking about me coming to Mark's rescue, he don't need no rescue from me? Move on. I'm sorry. Come on, yeah, I did it already. Yeah. We had to shoot the other day that I won't talk about. What type of shoot? Because I've been here, yeah, I talk about that shit. I've been here, yeah, I fake it now, too. Like, oh, I'm gonna see you this weekend, all that cornish in the front. This is like some streaming shit. Cool. Take your phone out and look up what it means when somebody say they won't talk about it. I don't know. What? To Google it? I'm saying whatever shot shoot we did, I am not at liberty to speak about it. So that means that you involve, what is it? JB and shit? No. Yeah. Yeah. Got it. So we're doing this shoot. Well, we've got this shoot to do. But mind you, I'm dealing with pregnant lady stuff, too. Oh, my Lord. So you know, oh, give me a hand, feel this, feel this. I'm like, I felt it. Like, see you soon. Yeah. I felt it. I felt it. I felt it. I felt it. I felt it. She's like, oh, my God. She's kicking my ribs. I'm like, yeah. You're pregnant. Well, anyway, so she ain't really been moving around. We just kind of just been in the house and in the bed. So we got this shoot. And she'd get up. Oh, she's going to kill me for telling this story. But I got a job to do. The father. So when she get up and she getting ready for the shoot and she looking to mirror and she say, oh, shit, hell no, I said, what, baby, she said, hell no, no, can't shoot like this. I got to make an appointment. We got to drive. We got to drive around the corner. We got to drive before the shoot. I got to take a drive. You got to stop right there because I said, what, baby? She said, she was, if I know you see this little mustache, I got. I said, you're going to get your ass, will I say? I'm also over there's coming your way. Well, Joe, not here Friday. I know why. Yeah, so it comes with like, I'm so glasses. Not only do I see it, not only do I see it. My love. I thought it was hidden on like some 70 shit. I thought you, I thought you was trying to break your joke. You think this is smart? Oh, you think that's wise? You think this is right. You think that's wise? She's going to fuck. I said, I thought you was, I thought you were changing the game. Oh, shit. I said, yeah, duh. If we been in the bed for nine months, what did you think? What's going on? I said, yeah, duh. God I'm praying for you Yeah, yeah, thoughts and prayer. They love you I think it's cute when they get the little do you know that little they get it? No, I don't know It's your case Some of them got the gold Oh my beard you think you did something I'm not paying for your best these first-class flight All right, so I'm gonna play this clip they killing Chris rock I would have never shared this I'd have never shared Black What does that mean when you're black? White people believe in every accusation is a conviction I grew up Six 19 to the K street treat Howard and Saratoga if you Brooklyn I'm pausing this I'm telling y'all that when somebody starts with I'm black and I grew up and they say a address That has the K street in it Yeah, you know you know about come out of there. You know what's coming going your phone and Punch up Roger Logan. Oh, I never did that. That's the other boy. He gave it to him the Google First and last name nigga what? Exonerated a guy named Roger Logan who I grew up with And was very his one of my best friend's brothers went to jail for 19 years for murder. He didn't commit and Here's a weird thing. Yeah, his brother used to plead with me to pay for a lawyer For Roger and I never did it. I always had like a no-lawyer thing because the lawyers like an open-end Did thing like I'll pay your mortgage. I'll put whatever. I'll just a bunch of shit. I paid for our education All sorts of shit. I always stay out of lawyers because it's so open-ended and I'm I'm still fucks with me. I was like I had the means to help him and I didn't I'm out or not, but still So all that to say is I'm black Black men get accused of shit. They didn't do all the time every day in the paper We let black men out in jail. Oh, we go whoops Oh, that black guy just did 30 years too bad so I don't know to answer your question When there's a convict, you know, like all this rumors shit You know, I'm not Hey, I hopefully I don't get accused of anything, but you know, I mean like I'm handling it from a real place You know This shit's real when people get accused of things and you better be real sure they did it Yeah Am I making sense? No, no, this is wild coming off. You know kids are cultural. Cancel culture. It was contextual It was contextual. So we only got an excerpt about Why he said what he said, but He was talking about like how people get accused of certain shit So it was like yo, but for him to bring up the story about Roger Logan He could have just bought up the story to make his point like yo dog I know somebody got accused of some shit. They did 20 years in jail and they were completely innocent and they got Exonerated the second that you say yo I'm rich and I had the ability. This is one of my best friends brothers that was I might have known since he was a kid and I chose Deliberately not to help him you go on the piece of shit bag Ace and nobody cares about anything else that you're saying at that point You just put yourself over there and the fuck boy back. Yeah, uh listening to him say this, you know before I played the clip I was like, you know, I would have never shared this, but after I played it I would have never been in that boat. I think he would have never been in that boat if that's my best friends brother brother I'm gonna give you the money to for the Lord to see I'm gonna give you the money so to so that the attorney could see whether you did it The attorney Let me know how this case is looking and whether he got a shot or whatever. Yeah, I'm gonna get him started Yeah, I disagreed with him on that whole and Maybe whatever you want. Yeah, exactly exactly get him started. Mm-hmm. Get him started It's better than doing that or like you said find out if there's something worth fighting for here Yeah, you know, I'm saying like have someone investigate to is this a windable case? I wasn't you saying the whole name now almost feels like that was that but if to me It feels like you're doing it today To kind of exonerate yourself or or get rid of some of the guilt that you might be And he said other than that there is no reason to bring light and attention to this person who just did 19 years for something He didn't do no no no he could have bought light to that specific situation to prove that people get convicted I mean get accused of shit all the time when you the last you can't bring light to nothing You ain't got to say isn't my last person that could bring life to something true if you're in that circumstance I'm saying again Contextually he's saying you know, I don't really be believing some of this shit because look here's my man that I know I know the story is true This is not here say he got convicted to some shit He did 19 years in jail and it wasn't true So I take some of these accusations with it with a grain of salt That's my other problem with my son my other accountability as my other problem with him saying I'm black and going on that whole White people sometimes an accusation means you did it and then don't say I'm black because that's the approach you took But no but that would be better if he didn't take that if he said look he didn't say I don't believe him that is the exact fucking approach He didn't say I didn't enjoy he said I got a policy that I don't do lawyer fees Because it's open-ended I say here what he said I'm not told my what he said I'm talking about superstar Chris rock or headed to Superstar Chris rock Saturday night live stand up Chris rock and Yeah, my best friend's man got a murder brother brother. I mean, I mean my brother's brother my best friend's brother got a murder He don't have to say I know what that look like. I know what that looks like I know what that looks like to him when the public finds out that you fronted the money we see it all the time So you don't have to say it. I know what the fuck that look like and what he did No, but so I this ongoing policy. There's there's a question of did you think he was guilty right and still didn't pay Or did you think he was innocent and just was like fuck. I'm not spending that much money on it's not my problem I would have felt better if he had said and it would have helped his argument if it's I thought he did it Yeah, I thought he did to be tell you the truth. I thought he did and that's why I didn't pay the money. I wouldn't been a man Yes, he can he can because he's making the case that we get it wrong He could say even I got it wrong. I think you hold on to me I think you sound less like a piece of shit saying I didn't believe my best friend's brother didn't say I didn't believe him and said fuck it left him there because I don't pay lawyer But you started this with y'all on black. So if you started with y'all on black and I didn't believe it and he ends up being Exonerated you still look like a piece of shit Don't you look worse saying I didn't think he did it. I paid the money. He should have just give it the money He should have kept the financial piece to his fucking self He should have kept like yo my man Roger his brother got locked up. He did 19 years. He was innocent So I take some of these accusations lightly. He should have entered it. I'm gonna tell you why he can't do that Let's say that's your brother and I do the interview And I say you know it's brother. It was like a 19 years and he ain't do it The system is fucked up and you know I didn't get you the money. You're gonna come back. You know my head about that cool So he doesn't say his name everybody don't play in in that games, bro Every life and real life and nigga might have said yo fuck you dog You bought that story up and you ain't help my brother. Yeah, that's what I'm saying I think the point that he could have lend him to is because he's speaking to the prejudice that people have against black men He could even speak to sometimes how even black men are that same prejudice and this is an example of how I would have appreciated that standpoint more than you just saying It would open up a bigger conversation. Yes, I'm not disagreeing because sometimes near prejudice against each other then Not to admit to that's so that could have been a way to go about you have to get on I don't know about the least part of that. There's something missing from the story. That's what I'm saying I think he shouldn't have shared the that this something missing. I don't know what it is He was talking
- What about getting comedians getting canceled? I believe was the context. Maybe I'm wrong. - And he could have stayed there, he said. - He could have stayed. - He was talking about people getting accused of shit and we take these accusations heavily. And he's saying, "Y'all in black, dog." Like, we look at that shit like, - And he's not lying like that. - No, I don't see it. - You do too, though, Chris. - Could be. - And that may be a part of the truth that you don't. - That's what you're saying. - You can't say, "I'm black." - These white people would look at us. - And then in the next breath, explain how you did exactly what the white folks do. Because you black, you should have fronted in those words. Because you black, you should have, "Hey, if you don't know this nigga, "that's your best friend's brother." You riding with your best friend benefited a doubt for a second until you see. Because you black, you're supposed to have a different understanding of how some of these charges can come about, how the system takes place, how we get pulled over first, how they get pulled over, how we get arrested, you're supposed to have a little bit of that. So to lead with I'm black and go there, I just do it, he dropped the ball on this whole thing. - He dropped the ball on this stuff. - It was superficial, no. - He did, bro. I hate when black people, black comedians do it a lot, but I hate when black comedians, black actors and black rappers put on a white voice when they talk to white people. I can tell who Chris Rock is being interviewed by the voice. - I hate that shit. - He do it a lot. - Yo. - He does it a lot. - And it's gotten worse over the years. That shit just gets my go. No, it's a charge for that comment, but yeah, I hate that shit, man. And I think I found it more annoying to use that voice while giving that answer. - Yeah. - Like, come on, bro. - I heard you nails on a phone before me. - Yeah. - Not me? - Yeah, I co-switch and I'm Bill Collector, start calling. - Yeah. - Yeah, I'm afraid of the Bill Collector. It happens. Like, I, I, do you, do you co-switch? - No, I don't. - Like, is it a place where you say, "Cooth"? I don't even talk right. I don't know how to co-switch. - Okay. - Fair. - No, you was on that step and repeat, looking a little cold switch. - Yeah, you said adult. - You know, you, you, in front of them cameras, that look like a little. - You said acid. - I'm right, you're right. You said, "Yo, don't, don't watch me, y'all." - I'm like, "You look like you, is it?" - I don't, I don't, I don't like when you watch me. - I love watching you. - I don't like it. I don't like it. 'Cause you take it and you take it, you look. - You lucky, you move in a shadow, boy. Make a face of ice again. You better keep moving like dark winged duck, you bitch ass. - That's all you wanna catch me, man. - That's all you wanna catch me. - Yeah. - You can't wait to catch me. - Hey, he's doing right. He's doing right. You doing it right. - You doing it right. - I don't, I don't. - But you need that illusion. You are fucking. - Snap your fucking head off your children. - You know what happens? - Look at ice again. I'm talking, I'm talking to a man. Man, back to you, a man. He's lucky. He knows how to let me see him, boy. - A illusion. - Yeah. - I know these people. - Me too. The difference in you and I, you. - I know, let me tell you the difference in you. - I'm talking to E. You not even in my beef. - All right. - I can look at you. - Don't look at frees again, nigga. Seriously, 'cause I in your whole career. - Where can you look? - Your reign on the top. Be short like leprechaun. - Hey, where can you look? - Just look up. - Fuck it. - Not at frees. - Not at frees. - Now back to what you were saying, man. I love looking at you. - Nah, man. - You better not let me look at you. - I swear, I know Joe just waiting for it. - He's waiting for it. - He waiting for it. - He waiting for it. - You think he'd only call on I-80? (laughing) - I know you know I ain't the only call on you. - You know I ain't the only one. - Huh? - That's how you know I ain't the only one. - Hell. - 'Cause you on that I-80, just what you saying. - Oh no, I'm not on no 80, he on. - Oh. - Yeah. - If he on the 80, I probably been there. (laughing) - You leaving? - Come on, I said we're not doing that thing. - Back to you. - All right. - I don't, I'll say my beef with you, it's not even a beef. It says that you just be starting shit, yo. - That's your bitch, nigga. - Nah, don't do that. - Never would you say that. - I'm saying that. That's nasty, yo. - You don't know, you don't think that the things that you do is nasty. - Nasty, no. - Yes. - I think Mark's nails are nasty. - Yeah. (laughing) - Nasty is disgusting. - That's disgusting. - Yeah, that's disgusting. - You do nasty shit. - I don't think shit is a bullf**ker. - I'm not sure what he's doing. - He's dirty, he's dirty. - Let's just say what you saying is true, right? Let's just say what you say that you witness is true. - I shouldn't have said it. - When you say it, places. - Oh no, that's a, oh, if you, if that's your point, you right. - I shouldn't say the stuff I be saying. - But you still do. - Yes. - And gonna continue to do it. - Yes. (laughing) - You know it's the funny part about you. - You know it's the funny part about you. - I'm sorry, you guys. You know what the analogy is? We can see you are I, A, D, and we turn our headlights off, so act like we didn't see you. - I'm not I, A, D. That's why I keep telling you. - You ain't hit me down, but we can't. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no I never want to lose the ability to see y'all and talk about what I saw. - Or exaggerate. - Or exaggerate. Or make up some shit. - Just make up some shit. - Or not. - Or verbally. - Yeah, it's a long guy. - Facts, as long as we leave it open at least. - And y'all will always remain safe because the people will never know when I'm blurring the lies with the truth, right? - Mm, thank y'all. Anyway, man, what happened? - Wow, what happened? - Come on, it's tough. - Anyway, what if you did at the cons? - Yeah. - Oh, listen, I had a great time. I had a great time. - Seeing you out there. - I was good. - When I was saying that. First of all, I want to give a big, big, big, big respect to Imani and Coach Akhan. They do a lovely event. My first song going. - Shout out to them. - Were you invited out there? You just went, I guess it is. - No, no, I was invited. And then my co-host, Sario. (all laughing) - I'm sorry, my bad. (all laughing) - That was version two. - Yeah. - With a lot of version two. - 'Cause you loud. - That was crazy. - That was crazy. - But no, my co-host Sario, she's a salutes to her. She was working in the event as well. So got a chance to go and kick it over there. But no, no lie, it was a beautiful event. Beautiful, black event. - What is that? I've never been, what is it exactly? - This is my first, it's literally a bunch of activations. This is a panel. There's food trucks. Just people exchanging ideas, creatives coming out. - Like yourself, myself, what's kind of a hub? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Okay. - To some degree, but it was just dope. - I mean, I need to go. - I need to go. - You go to events that's a blend of black culture mixed with something else. This was a black culture at its finest. All black creators, all black people on there talking, giving their experiences. You just connecting with different people. I didn't know what to expect. When I got there, so I thought it was just gonna be some just walk around with every bullshit, but it was amazing. And I can't wait for that. - That's right. - I think next year is the 10th, 10 year anniversary. I can't wait for that. - Though, we do do something up there, maybe. - I mean, you know, if this thing ever come around to it, but, man. - You do it out of it. - I mean, like we did it for us. - He kind of let me know what that's about. He kind of let me know that, you know, niggas be calling for shit, but unless he's a part of it, they ain't really trying to come and cop. - That is not what I said. - That, but that's your true implied. - That is not what I mean. - Maybe I'm exaggerating. Maybe I'm learning what I'm implied. - That's not what I'm saying. - Let me learn the idea. - Let me, so I brought it up like, yo, when some of this stuff comes up, I'd be knowing that they calling it and if Joe ain't really gonna be there, they'd be like, all right, whatever. I've heard, cool. We don't really want that nigga, that nigga, but I do think there's a world in a certain events where people wouldn't mind having a flip, ice, an ish on a pan new war, or a mark in the money, and put me in there. - I think it's very possible. And I think it helps to brand, even if you, you know, I think I got out of the control. It will be a damage. (laughing) - Yeah, I'm good on that. I want to show you that. - That coach of crime. - Mm-hmm. - The other one's showing you outside. - Yeah, yeah, I was, yeah. I tried to Rico. Rico was telling me about coach of crime, but yeah. - What was it, exactly? - It was Brooklyn, Navy Yard. - Oh shit. - Oh yeah, nah. - You like you have fun though, man? - I like it. - You look amazing. - Thanks. - It was great. - It was not available for you. - And you know, we go support all these other cons and all these other things. - N-D-Cons. - N-D-Cons. - N-D-Cons and the Con. - Get that nigga, Con! - It's not wrong. We're going ahead and supporting something. - Support your own. - To base off what? - Except your own. - Do you learn anything from there? Did you meet new people? Did you make connections? - I made, I, I, okay. So listen, we made the joke before about the DC shit. And we went to DC and a lot of people were stopping. I swear to you every single person in there had some, that I spoke to, and I spoke to a lot of people who had great shit to say about this platform. - It's beautiful. - Like they really fuck with us, they love this shit. They are fans, they are viewers. They just love what we do up here. And I was glad to get that energy from all of that. - I loved that. We ever to give, you documented it. - You know what, I'm on my business. But I'm glad you received that, didn't it? - Thank you. - Thank you. - They really love you, Flip. They, a lot of people mentioned you. - Thank you, bro. I love them, too. - Let's move, I threw you there. - Yeah. - I think that's a good segue to getting to this DaVinci shit. - Yes. - Yes. - Let's do it. - All right. So DaVinci went on Cam Newton. DaVinci is home, boy, from BMF. - BMF. He went on Cam Newton and who cares about the question? We just getting salacious answers. - Oh, so what's happening? - My home was Haiti and in the real world, you know what I'm saying, then it was like America, but I like, I had like work ethic. I was determined, like I started. I could take care of myself like fully at like eight years old. But in America, no shade to you guys, the way the culture have like moved majority of its city.
sense is like you're just incompetent for a really long time do you think that that's a that's a a country thing or a personal thing I think that's I think this country promotes that I think I think because this country this country promote I don't think it promote like like us like really like being able to think critically and being like hard workers being able to think outside and usually people don't don't get me wrong other countries they have their things too but I just think like we're just more big like when you're in America you have such a lack of exposure on what's happening outside of the world because you don't kind of care about any other country but every other country is like I want to be America we're in the New Java best practice best actors best is so it's just like dare like yo keep it up with us but it's like you don't need to get what you got to keep up with the XFL can I disagree you to oh my goodness please do but but I would say but that's why that's why and this is the law I think some producers probably just like you know what we want and overseas actor can say probably gonna be more focused they're probably gonna be less worried about being a celebrity or influencer I don't think American teaches laziness I think America's premise is off-efficiency that is often times over you and again this interview is on Cam Newton's platform shout out to Cam because I want to make sure because this is gonna be a important part of the interview so reset the reason I don't agree with you that in in paraphrasing what you're saying Americans dare I say lazy yeah but the work ethic is very lazy and poor right what America's premise is is efficiency like if there's an easier way to do something well that's what it will be and as collateral the nation the kids suffer because they become incompetent so it's not a direct teaching but I think is a side effect of efficiency like with AI AI is more efficient now now now let's just get to the now let's get to the just the clip part is the other yeah where's just the clip that was the whole shit yeah it was in the capacity to really do do do do you can we address that we go okay now I got close to the place yeah that have that have landed these massive American war portraying American characters as an as an American yourself which has roots to you know Haitian but nothing to I'm not gonna lie I do think the work ethic of Americans is one that people in a higher position it's hard for them to trust it humans are becoming like more incompetent sounds nuts and America is like producing like with baby our kids like in a way that it's like unheard of yeah I think you got here he sounds stupid he also said this slavery is over and we should get over it he said that's what yeah we buy more slavery um yeah please please please kill this nigga please no let me tell you this my nigga if you are eight years old taking care of yourself that's not a blessing yeah be the fuck clear my nigga that is horrible that your eight years old and you can't be a kid and you have to take care of yourself at eight that's not in the brag about nigga that means your parents felt or your circumstances in your environment was so fucked up that you had to do for yourself at eight years old so that's not incompetency on behalf of the American people that means nigga we out here providing better lives for our children what the fuck are you talking about that ain't nothing to be bragging about yeah and when you start talking about uh uh uh people working harder to cams point if you guys were so hard working and that I'm even gonna say that let me rephrase this my nigga hard work don't create success sometimes it does and sometimes it don't get opportunity to so you need opportunities and America provides the ability for some people to scale up in a way that most countries around the world do not and that's the whole fucking glory of America you could come here poor and you could die rich when you in Haiti nine times out of ten when you are born poor you gonna die poor and so America provides an ability for people to work hard and change their circumstances and working smarter versus working harder is a thing he don't know what the fuck he's talking about and I like him but he needs to shut the fuck up can you can can you mark just speak to because moments like this I start to understand why movements like FBA or Ados speak so strongly to delineation and just really making it clear because you get people who come over here with this rhetoric huh that come over here well he was actually born but some of that rhetoric is passed me I got let me play this clip to America we got clips grown up we were imitate Americans we love imitate African Americans because in our house so we were told don't be like African Americans they were like they're like that's not you let's not you upset that just makes a kid like want to be an African American I was gonna be 50 cents bit right so so I hate I hate everything he's sayin and it speaks to a hate towards black people all right then we got this other clip when the rest of us 13 and I was like a juvenile delinquent so I was just doing bad shit um so that's a little bit my pockets I was like a juvenile delinquent so I was just doing bad shit um so that's a little bit my pockets I went to all the way high school and over there it was different like girls were saying stuff like like I would date you but like my parents were like hate to both of us that's crazy that speaks to his mentality that's what I'm telling you when a lot of black people been nothing but around white people you take a day start looking at white people like they ice as cold as an hours you understand what I'm saying and so they start taking on I'm not as good as the whites but I'm better but that's also but that's also being never mind just being around the whites that's being passed down within that household he said something that that's was being passed that's what and you don't want to be like the African American I'm gonna cue the buck I don't I'm frustrated hearing it I man fuck him fuck him oh you niggas can say what they want feel you'll fuck you the way you're speaking about black Americans in a way even when he talked about the act and shit when he said if they would have got a British actor maybe be a man for the still been on it like like the shit he was saying it just speaks to a hate that you have towards black Americans and almost like you think you better than it's the same almost and it's and it's nasty and and be clear he's not independent in that I said a couple a couple months ago on a pod a lot of people that come here even though they are black people when they come in from other countries a lot of them people are taught that from day one yes do not fuck with the American blacks and they are taught that money and the data shows that that immigrants who come here have different attitudes toward America have different attitudes toward the possibilities of America have different attitudes toward people who are in you know black Americans who came here in descendants of U.S. slavery it's not unclear and everything he said is so deeply anti black and because we don't delineate and because we lump everybody into the pile of blackness what then happens is when he says get over slavery why people start taking a look look look what he's saying he's successful and he said it so look y'all should exactly when he's not entitled to our justice claim anyway he wasn't a descendant of slavery here he didn't go through the shit we went through and a lot of the complaints you have about black culture and about the alleged pathology and we're not a pathological people but the things you're calling pathologies around being lazy and drug dealing and all this stuff are are that apart of the afterlife of U.S. slavery which took away so many resources which dismantled our families and which led to the prison industrial complex which is what is constantly praying upon us and if you were raised so well and was such independence and such wisdom how the fuck did you end up getting locked up for the very same drug industry that you think you you know what I mean that that you say makes marks our pathology that's that that shit is crazy to me and this to your point is why so many people do become attracted to movements they acknowledge your legitimacy of black American culture as a unique thing they recognize our justice claims they recognize the need for reparations and that push back against because I hate xenophobia we should never be having these these diaspora wars I'm against the diaspora wars but sometimes we talk about diaspora wars like they only happen from the inside out like it's only black Americans attacking Haitians or Jamaicans or West Africans or whatever and it's no it's it's this other piece of it where we get we get called all these things and by the way everything he said was unfactual it was unsupported by data it's just a bunch of anecdotal bullshit that's used to demonizing pathology you feel the bothers me that he thought he was safe by taking black out of his camera yeah yeah yeah yeah did you say American right he meant black America but you read all the but you read all the benefits of black American roles you have no at no point is anyone viewing you as like he right passes off as a black acting how you we wouldn't even know you know what the black Americans so you will have no problem reaping the benefits off of that which goes back to the conversation we have before we went when when dial was up here about just people from another country another place coming over here and taking black American roles and not honoring the fact that yeah that's what you're doing in a certain sense because you're switching up your accent you're doing all these other things you're dressing a certain way to play these roles but then you get in
He spaces and then want to disrespect the very people you're pretending to be yeah, it's fucked up I don't I don't give a fuck what what role what movie? He got fuck him. I ain't I don't give a fuck I'm saying is that a lot of so I'm hatred American hatred American and I said this before like in my house All I wasn't taught that I wasn't taught about the separation so I can't relate to that It's not how I got older and they started calling the show I was a part of red men and then when they started to teach me and then I came up here It's a the reparations line and the eight-horses and an FBA. Let me have it now with that being said If he's younger than me, that is taught in the home you 30 that's taught in the home. That's not because times has changed, right like Even though there are people that Wanted what's the word? The linear linear even though a lot of us look at each other as as one regardless of how and so that's taught in the home That's that's passed down and that's ignorant I don't stand I don't stand with that because I wasn't taught that I grew up and like I said Went through up in Rutland East 93rd black Americans and everybody was one in that neighborhood So that's why I was a blind to Any type of but I didn't see anything like that so I hearing that I don't like that at all, you know what I mean and me said that's why I stayed quiet because When we say You know black people not getting reparations stuff. It's not our place to say it because we're not old that if you do the history and learn And you do your research not from not from the U.S. Yeah, not from the U.S. Hations are all reparations. They're all reparations from France and all that When I'm saying anything from the U.S. We're not old. That's so we have to mind our business. Yeah, you know, no, you know all support or you still acknowledge that these things Yes taking place or or These injustices what I'm saying is just like when you learn the knowledge and you understand that you become open-minded to it You have a different approach like I have a different approach You know, I mean sometimes you hear things you like a man You guys are being a dead horse. It can come off like that because it's like all they're not giving in to anything So you want to put your two cents on it, but at the end of the day When you hear the story from the eight dollars when you hear these stories about their ancestors and stuff like that And how important it is to them if you have nothing positive to say you'll shut the fuck up and move on yeah, man Fuck this dude. Shut up and move on Education or do the necessary research. Don't get the education. Yeah, get the education look up some like you don't get to do this You don't get to do this like King of Harris 50 said Tyler Tyler Perry. Yeah, he's a black Americans, but they get that that you wouldn't exist and you wouldn't be sitting on cam's couch If it wasn't for them. Mm-hmm. You don't get to sit there and now shit on black Americans Mm-hmm. That's it. They ain't nothing else. We got to say about this nigga. We can move on. Yeah, I'm with you black American. Fuck. He's one of Brooklyn That's the other part. What yeah? Born out here. Yeah, saying that about. Yeah. I don't know. He got to be taught man That's a household thing. You still got to be taught who you are. All right, and until you get that teaching shut the fuck up Get about it. Exactly. We good read more talk. Let's we good Catch you. We got to start taking stance on that whether Whether you have one parent that's black two parents, but whatever certain shit is just wrong You can be a part of the problem or you can just help try to fix certain shit I don't have to go ahead and reap the benefits of reparations is still support But you would cool whether I did it didn't I don't still have to go ahead I can still support my FBA eight Os brothers and sisters in their fight to get what they owe Yeah, I'm letting one nigga in the stupid shit. He's saying now I don't been in the trenches with his old. Oh, man Somebody was no wonder. Okay. I see what they were talking about somebody was tagging me in some stuff about Haitians and I'm like What's this coming from but apparently that's where it's coming from? Watching this I wanted y'all take on this genuinely like is this offensive or not? On Cam and may treasure verse glory of the leg Treasure from it is what it is treasure Wilson treasure Wilson shout out there She was asking Cam and me a question about The back of the day video vixen's when she was like where did all of yeah, I'll just play it actually When did they go they go back to gen pop? Yes, or we could do it. You gotta hear. I'm still gonna play it You know I gotta get off here. I got it. There you go. I gotta leave up for today Most of those like Video vixen's back in the days like y'all just like They just go back to like general population Back in general population is crazy She was so I was I was definitely sleeping on like okay, like I know she was like the day like what happened Yeah, that's a good way to put it And in glory of Elizabeth responded responded she was not happy with that That's I think I said you that link too. I know if you think it's she's the only one and she the only one that responded Yes, to my knowledge camera. Yes, Gloria says meanwhile decades later. She responded on camera I'm not gonna play that but I'll read what she said here decades later the video vixen's are mining their business true living full lives Raising families building businesses and evolving yet somehow we're still the conversation Maybe the real question isn't what happened to the video vixen's maybe it's why are y'all so obsessed with us and Let me ask y'all this why do people have such a hard time allowing women from that era to grow being on the image. They first knew us for Seems like the thing it's getting hung up. It's the word general population, but you also she was probably with the beware Yeah, she said that good lesson started with like oh, yeah, she called a bitch. Yeah, that I would go to the bitch interview That's what it's called a bitch. That's what got the treasure responded and said bitch is A lot yes, lot which I could define it fine fine with treasure day because I don't want to fuck her words up. Oh treasure said Glory of us calling me a bitch is crazy. My era doesn't have video vixen So it was a genuine question, but clearly I struck a nerve. I guess there's a disconnect here, but go off I guess so you took the Hyrule to me She did who's out of your own treasure. I'm gonna try to sign. Although I understand what Gloria was saying Yeah, I understand their plate I don't think general population was the disc that they took it she took it as Yeah, I think them laughing about the word general population is what made it worse See more offensive than it is and I think treasure could under could could find a way Yeah, you didn't have video victions of your arrow, but we got IG models of your brain and Marshall said on their show So you can eat you can find the equal. Yeah, it was a it was a disc It was a disc like naked niggas. It niggas. I be honest. It was a little slight and it was to be funny at the at the expense of video vixens you using a word general pot. I still think it was funny. I mean don't get me wrong I don't think it was mean funny though, you know, it wasn't mean It's at the expense is at the expense of women of a certain decade that already had a stigma to you know Video vixen back then. Yeah, I was popular boom, boom, boom, what most people want acknowledges that most of them was still in Gen pop even while it was a video vixen's right so cool Where are they at today? It would be the same thing we say another 20 years from now when we start talking about all of Changes and yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm just in this in the summer start tend to do an extremely well for themselves Some of the video vixens did extremely well and a lot of art and a lot did. Yeah, there's always a Shows and yeah, so the other population saying that you're doing bad. That just sounds like you're going back amongst the public eye anymore So I think it's a bit I think the laughter after it implied. It's bad implies that it's a meeting Yes, but it can't take it as you're just going amongst the people going back into you're not in the public eye Yeah, but you know probably because you use the prison reference Yeah, but there's a way there's a way of living luxury luxury is anymore. That's how some people hurt it Yeah, and if that's what you were trying to say there is a way to say that and if you know what yeah, so you for that general pop It's offensive. Yeah. Yeah, it was man. I do it was meant to be why I do I do I don't let me know population is going amongst the people Are you going to peace here in general when you come from where did it come from where did you come from not you? But if you if you if you're going to general general pop then where were you? You was in the IP. No, you was in the IP. Yeah, you're not in the IP no more Got it. So my my saying your life stepped down. Yeah, I think it is shade in here. It is Shout the glow. I'm not disrespecting glow at all. I'm not disrespecting none of them. I'm saying this if if you were up in regards to the entertainment business. Do you feel the need to respond? Would you so I don't I don't like the premise because let me I don't know whether glow is up or down. I say an entertainment industry. I Can't say financially. I'm saying and start stop out. I'm prepared. Let's say Glow fans. She's doing what I mean, she's doing what she's gonna talk about money. I'm saying and saying no to ride the empowerment sound like a slug I read that oh true story. We circuit. That's it. I got to fuck you off. Keep it. Keep it. I just I'm saying if you're authors that that I mean if you're author and your book is on some entertainment
- You know, I think I did what you said. - Gloria Velaz, sort of topic of conversation was out. - An actress that was a main a-list celebrity, right? A-list celebrity, she doesn't respond like this. - I don't know that. - I don't think she should have responded. - Yeah, I don't think she should have responded. - 'Cause they didn't say Gloria Velaz, right? They said video vixen. So while I think they was stung there, something to that, that bullet didn't have a name on it. - And treasured this say most, she didn't say all. - So if you are one of the video vixens that found some success after that, you can just say that don't apply. Let that shit land with a fucking land. - And maybe she was rapping for all. - And I don't think that treasured was being all the way shady 'cause she's too young. - Yeah. - She wasn't born. - Yeah, exactly, my soul. - So I'm asking what, so here and all this stuff out. - They were popping, where are they, in essence. That ain't, to me, that's not a shot. - And I was saying, yo, dog, they was the shit at one point in time, where are they? - Your treasured sitting next to Cam and Maze, she's picking up some of the funny things that they do. I think she was doing just cool lingo, but I think she was just doing cool lingo. I don't think she meant it to be hurtful, but I think she understands podcasts and she understands the platform she wants. So she used the term that can get them activated. - And I don't see. - When people hear it, I can understand. - But I don't think you're trying to throw shots at disrespect to women. - No, I don't. - I mean, she's 25 years old. I mean, mostly these video vixens, the careers were over, or close to over when she was, when treasured was born. Certainly it was over by time she was the first grade. - No, no, no, she was born in no two. There was a new wave. - She's born in 2001, Mayo, I think, yeah. So there was a new wave around us. That's fucking. (humming) - Okay. - She may not know. - I feel like I'm in a rut. (humming) - (humming) - Let me bring it back like that. - They weren't all the way finished. - But she was like six when that happened. So again, maybe she'll know. I think it's an overreaction, but if you're trying to affirm the dignity and legitimacy of video vixens, don't address treasure as a B. - All right, all right. - That part, I think we didn't have to say that. - I agree with that. - I could see, I could see an internet world, of course, where, once that go out, everybody's tagging her. - Right. - What do you say about this? What do you say about this? 'Cause you know how it gets. And then enough comments, somebody now responds to that. I think her respond that ain't the problem. I think how she responds. - Absolutely. - 'Cause I think she should have offered a hey. This is a dope conversation. You have a platform. I got a book. Hey, let me respond in a way with this actually turns into a conversation. I'm not saying that that would happen. - I think some of that is in there too. Glow has another book coming. - Yeah. - Press run. They got a popping show. This young lady is popping. - Listen down and have a talk. - You called for me. Let me let you know what we doing. Well, what I'm doing. - Yeah, but you do it in a way where it extends the conversation and now doesn't become a, 'cause you're not going to win the back and forth with Cam and Mace. You just not, you're not going to win that. - Not at all. - So I think there is a way to do this where you're getting it. - You talk about, you talk about, I think Glow responding in that way. - Well, you see what Cam already did. - I heard Cam's response here. - Yeah. - Immediately. - They're going to go to the back. They don't play when they come to Treasure. - Yeah, protect her. - Is it should? - Absolutely. - So I do think that there was a conversation that could have been had based off of that question no matter how it was asked. I just think her response could have determined how it was going. - Do you try to say that her response warranted that Cam's response? - I think I was glad that Cam defended facts. Her, defended treasure because I think you have to do that as a little sister. He has the platform. I think that I don't necessarily agree with everything he said in his response because I don't think all bets are off when somebody does something wrong that you can just blow the doors off. But I do like that he stood up and defended her. Again, I didn't agree with all the details in the approach of the defense, but it's an ugly situation. I don't think it had to be. I think all this could have been a situation where Gloria Velayez heard that and said nothing 'cause her name wasn't on that bullet. Or said, hey, took the highway, I was saying, hey, since you're asking, here's what's up with the women in this industry and you say there's an opportunity to educate the public. - I'll set up something with some of the more and more popular video vixens that we can sit down and talk to you about some of the positive things that we have going on with some of the business ventures that we've embarked upon, et cetera, et cetera. - I'll say a little sister, but at what point do men now just kind of step aside and just let women hand through their hand through two? 'Cause if this is two women going back and forth, there'll be more treasonous. - But the pens, the pens, the pens, the pens. - The pens, the pens, the pens on the person that tacked was nice. - I'm protected at 25. - I'm with you. - And I just add, I'm sending a message out to everybody else. - Yes. - We going to see you in there. - What the hell you got to do with us? - You gotta fuck with us, yeah. - But she's protected, so if the response and the defense is with some low shit added to it, then it is out of pocket. - And there's no need to go that low in the defense. The defense is not at question, it's kind of, what are you using to defend this kind of fuck? - Can I just ask a question to move it? Oh good, is it about this, I'm sorry about that. - It's about this topic, but go ahead. No, I wanted to ask you all a question about like, do you feel, how do you feel about the clipping culture? Not about, 'cause it was something that happened with me. So I'm gonna ask about the clipping culture, is it pushing the culture forward or is it just adding numbers to the board? Because sometimes context, if you know, a lot of the clips you don't have context and a lot of people start these think pieces and that shit spread like wildfire. Like what mean, the situation that happened to me, recently, and I seen the lady go in on me, which I thought was funny, she was hilarious. - I didn't think it was hilarious at all. - I didn't like it at all. - No, I didn't think it was, I'm talking about, - What, none funny about it. - No, no, no, I didn't like it, I didn't like it. - What, none funny about it? - I was talking about the situation. - I don't think it was hilarious at all. - I was talking about the jokes, Joe. - I'm only talking about the jokes. - I come from that, not what she said and not how she took it that far. I'm just talking about, I'm a guy about Joe, you crack the jokes, you call me put in body. I thought that was funny, but I get what he said. Everybody was upset in my team, but I wasn't that mad. - I don't know how I like it 'cause I ain't see it. - I know that my team, I didn't even see it. - No, but at the end of the day, though, is that we can take something so small and just blow it out of proportion, without the full context. And I wanna know if that's really helping. - I know what they're doing with it. - So here's the thing about that. 'Cause I agree clip culture adds to that. But then that almost presumes that people are acting in good faith. A lot of people are just waiting for a moment to go off and anything that's even close to the topic, they're gonna make a video about. Not because they got the clip out of context 'cause they don't want the context. They wanna be able to make a three minute, five minute response so that they can sell their book or their movie or their whatever. And so I don't wanna just blame that on clip culture. - I think that's true. - But we practiced up here, Joe would say, he was stopping and said, yo, go do the research before you say anything. 'Cause a lot of times we almost fell for a clip and we stopped the whole broadcast and we're reminded. So if there's a whole video out there or if there's something out there to go just, why don't you do the research instead of putting that jacket on somebody? - Some people don't want to. - People are never trying to do that. - Yeah, that's just gonna happen. - So you put a whole jacket like that. This is a whole video like. - I think people, like my friends, I think people who like propping themselves up to make themselves look better as a person or for someone else's downfall. - That's all the part about it, too. - I think it's a trance. - And I appreciate you guys saying that you, Mark and Joe, I appreciate you guys defending me like that. 'Cause I guess you guys know me. I appreciate that hearing that from both of you at the same time, like, yo, I didn't like that. I didn't see you guys tagging it. I ignored it. I didn't think anything of it because the full video and the context is out there. - She said about it. - She said about it though. - Yeah, I thought that was fun. - I'm keeping that. - All right, we keep that. - Yeah. - But I don't know what else she said. - I think that's what you're trying to sell tickets, bro. - That's what I'm saying. - I think I've seen clips, and I think, so I'm not pro or against, 'cause I've seen clips where somebody will take a conversation in its entirety and say, yo, this is something that could be discussed in the broader sense. - And it helped. - And I think that's dope. But then I've also seen people take clips, like clips from up here, where they'll purposefully take some shit and direct it and cut it right at the point where you sound like you're saying some wild shit, just to engage. - I understand. - And it's like, yo, how the fuck do you say that? Yo, I hate them. - I also think that niggas make too much money to keep playing in a certain type of way. - Got you. - But I know you, I know you're going to say that. I knew that you was going to say that. What you're making? - It's a double-edged swore. - But when can you have fun though, Joe? Like, when can you have fun? - Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, Me, So now so here you go somebody from fucking Pittsburgh or fucking Nova Scotia coming in chiming in in New York But mine your fucking business mine your business. Hey your efforts are appreciated when they are needed when you see somebody really doing some sleaze ball Slimey shit or fucking not protecting women's rights or really trying to harm them. Then please. We we love that But to jump the gun the film the soul is no That's the problem though because we sit here and we speak about some of these other streamers that are doing this fuck shit So to the person watching from outside. They kind of lumping everybody together Everybody that knows you know you're not doing no fuck shit. Yeah, you know what I'm saying everybody we're dreamed all in this situation Topic about making to when you finish free. I do because I know
Joe but he always hints at that, but he doesn't want to seem like he's shitting on how anybody is making money, right? So he throws little shit on the other side of the head. No, but you saying that some of us make too much money to do what to have fun and if I chase my friend I'm chasing my fun is off the table when you make enough money to be honest with you. Yeah, I wanted to say that all the time you do without you never left broke people Broke guys let me say now broke people. Broke guys can have a fun that you can't have that people in this room Oh, that makes sense. Can't not have. Broke guys could crack a joke Broke guys Could say something a little edgy to be funny broke guys can have a dark sense of humor. A broke guy can do a whole list of things Mm-hmm, and nothing will happen That change is dramatically when you're not broke And normally the guy that's not broke has gone through some things on his way On his way to not be in broke so he's kind of aware of this I love this shit that the NBA niggas are doing now no hugs. You want a picture? It's no touching It's no it's damn there. No pounds the opposite sex Because yeah, because that's where we are. That's the time we live in I'm not how's uncomfortable you say yeah We're not doing that today. So you playing with a friend to yours. Mm-hmm. It's fine. It's your friend for for Streaming purposes Yes, it's greater than that. It's almost like it's almost like You know practice what what you doing practice is what you Yeah, so yeah, you playing with your friend cool, but Nah, Kansas on and people in this room That mean I say people this room let me speak for me. I Have already danced close enough to that leg. We're all you never thought this one would do that Oh, you never thought this person would say that. Oh my god. This was nothing like that. Oh my god This I was just playing. Oh, I was just kidding. You know, it was really annoying hiding a lawyer to go through all that and explaining yourself to the lawyer Yeah, that's real no way. Yeah, tell the lawyer. Yo, I was a joke. Mm-hmm Now we got to go dig up your jokes Let's go dig up your dirt last 30 years of your jokes if you joke like that. It's just all ahead of you It's all I'm saying. It's not worth it. It's not worth none of it. Even playing with a friend when when they start getting expensive And this is expensive you may not you may not have to pay you are hitting your face crack But but but be clear. I'm not I'm not I'm winning at every turn That's what that's that's that's what I mean that's what I'm saying Like any time I show up somewhere to the cool. I'm I'm I'm about I'm probably about 19 and and one And the one is way back. But why even I'm killing it. Yeah, but why are you why you that's what I mean get in your head crack Yeah, I mean by lawyers. Okay. That's what I mean. Oh, yeah, no Because at some point you got to pay to be protected. Yeah, sure do. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Counting's got to change your lawyers got to change all our shit got to change Yeah, I mean and You got it. Yeah, that's most important. You gotta change first. Yeah. Yeah, that's all I got on that But I ain't like seeing this you don't read none of this get the fuck out of here. You hug me last week a little tight too So I could crack all the jokes I want. I hug you. You don't comfortable The fuck out of that crack you gave me but he put it on your back. I go. Yeah Take shit You always think things too far Mark what do you have to say for yourself the Philadelphia 76ers held an open to the public scrimmage Our annual blue and white scrimmage. Yeah We have every year for the last 50 years yet. I don't know if it's 50 but for ever since I've been just more attention now So now y'all see I thought you're gonna bring up the the preseason game between the nicks and the sixers when we won about 30 Without LeBron or Joelle and B Even though we lost let's clap it up for that. No, I'm messing with you clap it up. I just thought that's where you were going I don't I don't know why many other places to go. I wanted to talk about LeBron I want to talk about LeBron already announcing his chiropractic Sciadica issues that he's having I want to talk about the report that came out about what the sixers brass step to Michael Rubin with you Could you step down so we could really get to the business of you and and what's that shit? What's it shit? I don't know. Sweet steaks. What's this shit? Stake tops all that shit. He's paying for the helicopter Fanatics Fanatics. That's what it is He's paying for the helicopter back in my work. Let's pay for that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, Fanatics. Yeah, what's wrong with it? Fanatics. You don't own the sixes. Yeah, you don't own a thing. I know But what would you say? You'll beat the next? No, I was my plan. You were saying I'm saying is you can't you can't make fun of us a scrimmage and act like the preseason game don't matter I don't think any of it matters. I think the sixers are a great team and we got a great future this the blue and white game is as we call it Isn't it's Publicly regular. It's just regular. It's just a team playing against each other. It's like the last practice It's just something we do in Philadelphia in the great future We have a lot of fun. It was a great time. We saw a lot of athleticism. We lot saw everyone was a good sport about it It was fun. It's just a fun community event. It's not really a basketball. Yeah, it's just a fun thing I wouldn't put no stock in it, but I will put stock in this regular season when we start about to start Well, we all go out and watch the season. You're not going to the game right? I'm not going any game Yeah, I'm going to go into not a one game. You decided that's it really not going to get us about what I'm saying I'm not fuck with the next that hike was hot. I'm not fucking with the next I couldn't go to bed at night and no, I can't rationalize that how many X was it? It was double No, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's the low tier. That's something else that happened where they went to the public with a price And it was too much and they pulled it back. No, that happened. What I heard is they increased the tickets by a date They they were up up and they dropped it back down to a 12% flat to the public. That's not that's not public y'all joints That's oh, no, that's the church is double. I'm not paying for it I have a hundred inch TV that I paid a lot of money for and I'm gonna get good use of them Even put your name on the screen when you did so they can't see it that I don't mean I don't know I want panel that shit. I don't need my name on the screen. I don't need celebrity role I would like to go to the games. I'd like to go to I would like the seat that I normally sit in which is the Joe button seat and That's the end, but yeah I'm with you. I I got rid of all my tickets. I'm going to the home opener against Cleveland Philly Cleveland and I'm going to the next game in February and that's it everything else. I'm cool I'll get the when we go to play I'm gonna See claim my tickets or I can sell that's the first game right? Yeah any game. I want to go to I'll buy that and it'll be cheaper than what the fuck They got going on me and again. I'm still going to roof on go next go next go next. I was dear when they want it awesome Listen, I can't even joke about the six years too much because I'm worried with all this calling into the town shit They got going on. Well, it's a failure. He said so far doesn't look like it's a success You know, it's not we're not gonna get to the regular season with a new deal We'll they not they're gonna negotiate. They're not gonna go into the season to get a new deal They are gonna negotiate back and forth, but my blood pressure is gonna rise. Oh, nobody ever wants that, but you got negotiate But you wanted to you know, I'm just saying if he's a temperamental. What is the accent 276? Yeah, no 276 is the max he could get They're apparently willing to take a discount and this is all from just reading rumors They offer them 200 right? Yeah 200. That's what we're hearing right this second. The gap between 276 and this in 2026 I do not believe that the nicks believe that calling Anthony town would ever accept 200 But that's the problem when you're in a negotiating game It's fucked up. Yeah, you know when you're negotiating One party to say something that's just not gonna make you feel good even though you know that this is routine All right, you know that I'm going low boy you and yada yada yada But how it makes you feel in the process sometimes and especially after you win the championship Bad time to do that. We just talked about that one homie from home. Was it Detroit? Yes, yeah, yeah, that's what it was The money affects how you feel and I think how we play exactly and Cats supposed to be mad just for them offering the same thing that Jalen Durant end up taking yeah, yeah, yeah Yo cat Rooting for your big dog big Jersey rooting against you, but I want you to get your money I want you to get your money and then I want you to lose to the six. You put a chip here Hey, I'm 53 you pay them a give me 250 Give me 250 88 could go douche. Love you. He could go Josh is gonna hurt, but he could go pay the man Pay the man, I don't want to leave me to pay the man. Yeah, staple. I feel that Stable we can we can we do Why don't you buy it already he's niggas want to ship you know the thing that one last year may not be the thing that winning this year Come on, Joe, but I wouldn't change it. Well, I wouldn't keep the whole team together like
You want to keep the foundation because there's no team in the league wants to go above the second apron the second apron Is something that the league came up with to to severely penalize They came up with the second apron to make sure that the great teams can't continue to spend and add great players They they came up with it to even the field so some of the lower lower market teams have a shot So now in the NBA anybody if you think you have a chance a shot you like a team and you feel like you got a chance to the championship window They don't want it to be a 10-year run. They don't want them or Lakers Celtics warriors I don't want them on that. Yeah, so you get now a two to three-year window I need the Celtics recently the thunder there's cat polish cap geniuses so we have different So that's what they doing see I think they don't want and there's no team in the league right now in the second apron not one It's not a one. So they paying this as a Nick thing No team is in the second apron nobody it hamper's it hamper is how you can fix your team and how you can add players to you know You know what fucks me up because I do believe I know what you just said they don't want no team to had that run like that I believe if that was New York or LA They okay with them having that run Just them two teams though because of the market and what that does see I think I think you don't want you don't want Like no shots. You don't want San Antonio Goldenstein like those are not the the prime market that a New York LA means I don't even think they don't want the runs I just think that they don't want you to earn pay for your championship Like if you're going to run y'all going to run y'all gonna go on the run under these specific Guidelines I think that what we got to was niggas was just out here trying to form like Voltron and it hurts the league because it takes away Some of the parody and the league. Mm-hmm. So we want everybody to be competitive every single night Across the board and if you start doing these bunch of super teams it stops that Well, I know Minnesota about about to have a nice year with that back what so needs a bit of watch out Play defense. Well, yeah, that's true Oh, this nice Joe. We got a what do y'all think what do y'all think about all the happenings in complex car? Stabbing to lucky she is just anything. There's anybody have any takes about anything complex car you guys and look crazy The streamers are turning this until like the new drill the young streamers The fact that you go in there and you know you're fighting and they're jumping people in complex con I mean I'm in no position to talk but at least I take my situations around the corner I mean these these kids are turned this into a whole new thing. I mean they're going outside Waiting for the opposition. Are we waiting outside of complex car the next day? They show weapons on their streams. I mean, I think it's ridiculous and I think that complex car needs to do something about Either beefing up. I have a more security or you know, I mean Just put implement rules, you know, I mean bands maybe you know, I'm saying I mean sometimes things happen So as I said, I'm not you know in a position to speak. I didn't like the way it looked It didn't look like that because complex on you want to go there. You want to be inspired to go there You want to be inspired in that work even with streamers or with celebrities, you know, I mean they had Russell Westbrook there with his lady. They had a lot of different people there So for that to go on the only highlight was The fighting and then the stabbing outside like it's just it's just now things have to change and they may change it I don't know it may change it. They may implement rules, but It didn't make me want to go right like it's like I know the mix playing like that. I know that It made me want to avoid that smart and it's wack cuz complex con Some of the benefits that you get from going and being able to stream and do all that But that's also the curse of it because everyone's looking to stream and get a moment So you can't even really like can't yeah, you can't say oh, well, it's just getting a stream and shit get rid of that Because you pretty much getting rid of what's drawing attention. Yeah, so it's it's the way space. He's young kids out here bugging It's I'm glad that I'm glad that lucky end up being alright. Yeah, huh? When this story first broke A lot of people hit me to say Yo lucky got stabbed that complex car It's like yo, that's fucked up yo Who's lucky? I thought I know the joke was coming not a joke. I mean, I don't know who I say damn lucky day Just didn't know who I still don't know I don't know he was I don't want nobody to get stabbed indeed Yes, I don't want nobody to get stabbed, but if you know, I don't know who the nigga is they got stabbed tell me more when you That's all you can't say look you can't say one day Yeah, lucky is not like a one-name guy. Yeah, you know, and then I see the nigga That's how disconnected we are now because in that world and that complex world in that complex world that high-beast Streamer reset whatever the fuck they might very much know who he I think he's attached to the playboy cardian So I don't know you know you know lucky like no, no, so After by initially I didn't know who he was no I didn't know what a lot of those people were Complex contour me that I don't be knowing shit about nothing that's going on facts in that world I don't know That's a world. It's a beauty to be an old. Yes. Yeah, so I have to be tapped into. Yeah, that's yeah I got a little cousins in shit that I talked to when I need to know what's going on over there I don't know. I'm sure I can ask one of my nephews. Yo, who that and they'll give me a That's what you supposed to do listen. I'm telling you and I'm being facetious. I'm in here telling y'all I didn't know who lucky was, which is true. That's easy to say. Let me take it. It's different. I don't know who Cardi is Cardi I know that he got niggas and he's worshiped the devil and whatever You're your own playboy. What when you google and for the sense the fuck No, I'm not in the know with all these niggas Kanye West walking through that shit. I love Kanye West Looking at cosonets boo Yeah That was one of that was some of the dopest shit I see Kanye West looks so confused yuck Kanye was like, okay, you showing me he pointed at his boot He looked this is what you was going on these look like Hold on Kanye, you know what you know is yo all you niggas is Kanye's son. Yo, I am a lot. Yeah, like niggas don't want to admit it That's why it's hard for me to look at this fashion Cosonet because it reminds it just looked like somebody that's trying to do the Kanye Yeah, oh one too much, and I just thought he was in his own bag being doing him. Yeah Yeah, but whatever man It was about the fix that boot while it was in his hand Kanye was about you know somebody give me a pen. Give me the knife. Give me a sharpie some soling Machine I'll take care of this right now about to fix that fucking cosonet boob cut that shit at half. Oh my lord Yo, Jesus Charlie. Hey, buddy with that complex calm man. You couldn't you couldn't have paid me to show up. I tell you that Look, you wanted to go I'm trying to get to this chickie Yeah, I mean you do want to go sometimes man, but seems like that I don't I don't want to be a partner. No, I don't want to be a partner. I don't want to go to that I'm scared because the way they're doing it now like I really have enough problem with regular niggas come up to me Like a stream and they were the camera like I can both stop man Then I seen another clip with some little nigga streamer. I don't know none of the streamers But he was trying to talk to the dude king six eight who be gone viral on so he went up to him and he was like Well king six eight was doing something and the little Spanish name was like, you know what's up, man? Yo, what's up, man homeboy is ignoring them Said yo, what's up, man? You really you really six eight stand over here by my man who six seven I want to see if you really six eight six eight niggas back talking to girls ignore them or whatever Boy, why'd you do that? Yeah, you know you ignore me you ego in me and the streaming got their own their own legal They own linga yo you ego with me. Yeah, you bitch ass. Now he's screaming to the top of his lungs for the next 10 minutes Calling homeboy a bitch ass nigger, but from a distance bitches took it See and that's why I can't stream I'm going to go to jail. That was in the chat, man WWWW that's why he would say he was like no chat. He egoed me Chat what the fuck what is that? Me, he go me like you stop me. Yeah, you're going me. Oh, my god That niggas you talking to the chat chat. Don't say that again She's a chat What the fuck that is? Oh, it's what you do For our brother now or is it The great Freddie Jacks it is time y'all and trying to pretend it didn't happen as soon as the show started literally the intro We got the news that Freddie Jackson that passed away Word of the reason
And for his passing hasn't been shared yet, but we do not matter. Don't matter. He's been battling kidney disease, though, for a few years now. And I know that he was in a lot of distressing pain at some point. So this is a tough one, man. Freddie Jackson is a soundtrack to black music, black cookouts, black barbecues, black feudal rules, black weddings. He's just such a special figure, man. And he is like to me, the quintessential singer of that generation. He's like the prototype for how it happens. For me, it's only two people, Luther and Freddie. And in a lot of ways, very similar, both from New York, he came up uptown, went to White Rock Baptist Church. Back when singers actually were trained in the church, and he was a gospel singer before stepping out, meeting Paul Lawrence, who is his songwriting partner in one of the greatest songwriter producers of the generation. And he became part of Lawrence Johnson and Simon for a while for headlining his own group, Mystic Merlin. And he was a star from the beginning. He was always meant to be a solo artist. So when he drops in '85, he rocked me tonight. It was on from then. Grammy, best new artist, song after song, rock me tonight, you are my lady. Be going on. I mean, have you ever loved somebody? I mean, there's so many Freddie Jackson songs. And when he was not only a skilled vocalist, but he knew how to touch that part of your soul. When Freddie is saying you felt love, you felt sex, you felt seduction. You felt soul-treat, but it was never distasteful. It was subtle. You know, the words were unspoken sometimes. He was just such a talent and such a kind soul, such a beautiful person. It's funny. We were up here joking. Yes. About Freddie. Not too long ago. He played right back with us. He jumped right on Instagram and was like, "What did I say about Luther?" And it was really nice right before he passed. I didn't have a relationship with him, but right before he passed-- Yeah, we played that up for the whole thing too before he died. He backed me to fuck down. And that's how I did a talking tour because we started talking offline after that. And it was just nice to talk to him. He was so kind and generous and humble to have this many hits and to mean this much to black music, to American music, and to be that humble and cool was just a testament, man. And so while it hurts to see Freddie go knowing that he wasn't so much pain, gives a little bit of solace to know that, you know, celebrating. Yeah. So we're going to celebrate Freddie Jackson. We're going to lift him up. We're going to listen to his music. We're going to drink a little something, and we're just going, you know, wish his family, his friends and his fans well. So much that's happening in my life, you know, you're going. What I'm about to do, no, I'm not myself to give up, and I know just what I want. It's just during the broadcast, following that my cousin Tyrone passed, it's very sudden. I don't know what happened, but I want to send love to my aunt Marie. This time of year is kind of crazy because lost her son, another son last year around the same time. So it's a lot. So I wanted to send my love to her, send her love to Tyrone's daughter and rest of the family. Love y'all. Yeah. It's time to start checking on the people and check it with your people, you know? Yeah, get your help. Everything together, man. I'm just going to rest of you. My cousin passed away last night as well. Jamel. Love you. And you know, prayer says mother Nita, and just hope to do the best we can, yeah, and check it out. Well, yeah. I want to say Rest and Peace to the fucking hockey dude from ESPN that died. Oh shit. Yeah. I fucked with dude. He was on their forehead. I fucked with dude, man. Yeah, man. Yeah. I know. That one. Rest and peace to them. So the median that just passed, too, he was a part of a few shows. You don't know comedy, yo. What's his name? He was on Def Comedy Jam back in the day. He used to be doing a-- McFadden. Reggie McFadden. Yes, Reggie McFadden. Reggie McFadden. Yeah, Rest and Peace. Reggie McFadden. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah. Just be saying shit, bro. Thanks, though, no. Nothing, bro.
