Episode 8: Slayyyter, Sandilands & a Secret Sound

The hosts, Grace and Verity, reunite after a week-long break, sharing stories from their travels, including landing in Sydney and a humorous mix-up on a flight to Bali where a flight attendant accidentally acknowledged traditional owners. They engage in lighthearted banter about business class gender norms, joking about non-inclusive announcements while advocating for better inclusivity. They express enthusiasm for Australian cities adopting dual English and Indigenous names, viewing it as a positive cultural step. A major topic is Jetstar's controversial proposal to charge for overhead baggage. Grace's sarcastic comment about seatbelts being free goes viral, amassing over 2,600 likes, and they criticize the airline's attempt to spin the backlash. They also explore other airline innovations, like standing seats for short flights, which they support, and coin-operated toilets, which they reject. The conversation shifts to a personal story about enduring a foul-smelling passenger in business class, leading to a debate about empathy versus frustration in confined spaces. They propose absurd solutions like separate compartments or medical airlines, while acknowledging the sensitivity of such issues. The hosts celebrate their show's milestone of 100k views across platforms and congratulate Kyle Sandlands on launching his new show, KS Live. They end by introducing the "Culture Catch Up" segment, where Grace recounts attending the opening of Slater's show in Australia, noting the stress of smaller venues compared to massive concerts like Lady Gaga's. Throughout, they maintain a playful, irreverent tone, blending humor with social commentary.

I will say this about business class I have never seen a blue-haired Up in 1A, 2A, any of those Rose I think when it comes to business class, there's a Gender's Applied Gender's Applied There are two Gender's In Business class There's no in-between Male and female Because you know what? They still go, "Oh yeah, good Good morning, Mr. Alex Andrew." Yeah, exactly Good morning, Miss Jeff's Exactly You are them in 2A Good morning, good morning What do you call it, "Passenger?" Good morning, "Passenger." Good morning, "Passenger." They still go, "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen." Welcome aboard this virtual Australian flight Like there's no In-clusive language And I hope they never stop that I hope they never stop that Because at the end of the day Whether you're Sister gender or transgender Whatever, we're all ladies and gentlemen Gamera Regardless if you flip-flopped If you start as one and change to the other We're all ladies and gentlemen Can you fucking imagine if you got on a virgin Australia or a connoisse flat and they went Good morning all It just doesn't sound right It doesn't hear it like it should Good morning, ladies, gentlemen And those in-between who choose to identify we are in *BEEP* *laughs* I would die I would literally die I would simply pass away Hot take, I don't know what I'm doing, hot take, hotline just yet But just came to my mind The conservatives might hate me for this But I think it's really fierce I'm all for everything Like the major cities in Australia having double names I think that's really cool I think it's really fabulous I'm all for that Like I love that I think it's really Because it's kind of fun I kind of think it's more of a bit Gadigal Yeah, Gadigal or what's Melbourne? Nam Nam Nam I think it's kind of like Fabulous Yeah, I do, I really like it A, like we have the English name and the indigenous name I think that's actually cool Yeah, I love it I think it's a cult It's also a cultural identity in a way I agree But you know it's really interesting Because they do it on the flights, right? So if you landed Melbourne they do Welcome to Nam If you land in Sydney, they go welcome to Gadigal land And they're so used to doing the announcements or the flight attendants That when we landed, when I landed in Bali last week Yeah We landed in fucking Indonesia, right? Yeah And the lady obviously is just so used to saying that She goes Good morning ladies and gentlemen Good evening ladies and gentlemen We've just touched down in Demperseau We'd like to extend our traditional, respect to the traditional owners of the And you could see her like pause, bitch I think Oh no, we're in Indonesia, she went Welcome to Bali Welcome to Bali, hi Welcome to Bali, hi, hi It was hilarious, like you could see her clicking in her head Yeah But speaking of discounted airlines Jetstar wanting to charge for overhead baggage What is this bullshit? How does that even, what, where does that idea even come from? And how do you police it? It's like so you're saying Like a check-in is included, a check-in bag and a carry-on bag is included in every ticket Almost, like you buy for a flight No, not with Jetstar Oh my god, yeah Sometimes it's just get on the plane, just go on the plane And hang carry, that's it, so no check-back, just hang carry Okay, that's fine, hang carry-on But they want to charge for that That's what I'm saying, how does that happen? Like for instance like So you know how when you go on the plane and you do your hang carry, you got your wheel on And then you got your hand bag, right? Yes And then you get your wheel on up to top Overhead and my hand bag under my seat So they want to make under the seat free Up top, charge you for it That's crazy No way Yeah, it's like the whole big thing So anyway, the daily odds put up a post about it last week No way Me being like a stupid little fucking jetstar I comment on it going I see, I see belts free And my comment has gone But it's got like two and a half thousand likes What did you see the TikTok they posted? I've had to turn off my notifications Because it's still going, even the spawn is like Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing Can you get it up? What are we on? What are we on? I think it's on like two thousand You know when it starts commenting this funny shit from the pod account Yeah, I know, I just thought I thought Oh that'll be, that's a like genuine comment to make Like a seat belt is going to be free Is the emergency exit slide going to be free Or they're going to have like a POS machine When the plane crashes into Indonesian waters And they're skimming on the water and they're going Sorry, I just want to just walk the mic The punch that the seat clots at my face Vacuator vacuator vacuator and you're going down the slide And they go, that'll be 79 dollars and 35 cents They have one of those little, the little F-POS bricks Yeah, that's a little square meter They go square meter Yeah, they just, before you can get on the rubber raft Yeah, oh, you want a life jacket? That'll be 3900, please And no, no, no, no Oh, and we don't take A-Mex And we're taking it That it'd be like the absolute caveat is, oh, we don't take a minute We're going to take a minute to express it, we're going to just say here We've got two thousand six hundred and thirty two likes Oh my god Yeah And that one comment And it keeps, I've literally had to turn my notifications off And it just keeps rolling And it just keeps getting bigger and bigger That's, I saw that it was a really stupid But did you see the tick-tock they posted? They're trying to like make light of it now And it's not fun when they people join in on those jokes They posted something being like Oh, no, I didn't see this They posted me like your complimentary food or some stupid shit like that And I saw it and I was like No, I think they should just take it back and go Hey, look, they just jump the gun Okay, crazy idea Yeah, crazy idea What's like Ryan Aire and EasyJet in Europe They wanted to do standing seats at one point Which I actually kind of agree with Because you think about a lot of the flights of you Like if you're flying from London Gatwick to Amsterdam It's a twenty five minute flight I would happily stand for twenty five minutes I've stood for longer waiting for a fucking Uber at two o'clock in the morning I don't think that's bad at all If it's a twenty like a what, a thirty minute flight And I can pay half the price for a standing seat Where I just buckle my waist against the wall Yeah, I'll do it I'll just stand and listen to music like a train ride Exactly, it's like jumping on the metro Yeah, I'll do that Yeah, I'll probably I'll probably stop the plane at Gingsfersman It would probably be nicer than catching a fucking train I think so When you catch a train, at least here in Sydney It's fucking packed to the brim And you're standing there pressed up against people At least if you're on a standing flight Exactly, you've got like a wall to lean against You've got even spaces between everyone Imagine it was front to back, front to back, front to back We just be chatting the whole way there Yeah, exactly what you do Like we win, we go to the cinema Exactly, like we just be there like Hello, hello, it's a great way to make friends Yeah, I agree Does that mean when the seatbelt sign comes off I can unplug myself from the wall And just like freely stand around Yeah I love that Yeah, they never ended up doing it Because they weren't able to get license and regulatory approval From European aerospace Whoever the fuck looks after that shit But I think it would be great They also wanted to start charging And have coin-operated toilets on Ryanair That I don't agree That's ridiculous Because you don't want to shoot yourself at 30,000 feet No one wants to be shitting themselves at 30 No, even if you're in a toilet No one really wants to use the toilet at 30,000 feet No, exactly Well, speaking of using the toilet at 30,000 feet About six or seven years ago I was flying from Hong Kong to Brisbane And I got on the plane, I was in business class I was up the front, lima-bess-live, I sit down And when I tell you there was this stench Like it was a toilet that had overflowed And I'm going to the flat-tense with this smell I paid all this money for business class And I'm like, I was really nice I was like, what is this smell? And they're looking at me like, shh, shh, shh And I'm like, why are they shoving me? And they're pointing in front of me It was the passenger in front of me It was like an elderly geriat [Bleep] [Laughs] And I'm like, oh shit, I'm going to hell Like, I've just said this so loud Like this, I'm like this No, I'm like, this is ridiculous No, but still, I stand by it And I'm like, oh excuse me? Is this smell? Is it coming from the toilets? And they're like pointing at the ga- I'm like, shh Oh shit, and then about halfway through the flight it was unbearable I got the amenity kit and I got the fucking ear plugs and I bought one of each nostril Oh wait, I'm sorry. I'm just I've just understood what you're saying He didn't blow up the toilet. He smelled like that. He had like a medical condition And it was like his skin or something was all flaky it was I don't really know what was going on He had something going on. Obviously couldn't help it Oh now I had real I realized about halfway through the flight Before I got on the flight I went and spent a shit ton of money in diptique got myself a candle Got myself a room spray on the flight Put it in a flat better. I bought a candle. I bought a room spray. I bought a perfume So which duty free was this out Hong Kong duty free DFS. Oh, I do I Halfway through the flight the smell is unbearable. I'm like Spraying the room spray. Yeah, of course down the aisle of the plane of course and the flight Attendance sees me and it's just like dying laughing being like this is the last because you need a picture me I'm like hold him a nose a fucking ear plug up each nostril go Like spraying room spray all the way down the aisle in the passenger next to me is looking me be like thank you So much. Well, it's really difficult. I think as well because Obviously people can't help these things whether in whether you're an economy business class first class People can't help these things. Do you want? Sorry, we've got Harry from workforce placement In the studio to say he's showing me my own story interrupting the open up interrupting the open up hang show me the story What did I fucking post? Sorry very it was very rude Harry very rudely interrupted you I don't know what I'm saying exactly. Thank you. I don't know what I'm saying. Thanks Harry So for all of you listening Harry from workforce. Oh, that's what I'm gonna say whether you're first class business class or economy class Being around someone who reeks in such a confined space that you've paid money for just to get somewhere is really frustrating but maybe this is like a leadest horrible consumerist pieces shit me but like if I've paid all that money for business class like I want them removed I think I want them said like can we can we there should be an eject button They take them down the back And you hit the button and the other parachute will give him partial will be nice Yeah, they can have a parachute but there's got to be a solution to kind of fucked if you directly over I mean hit that parachute button like you've got to be there's got to be a solution though Like short like you know what I mean like I don't know Oh, we just said to sit I know but we just meant to sit in first class with someone who's be always literally reeking feces Well, I did it for the nine and a half hour for nine hours. I have to sit Behind someone yeah who absolutely smells like car car. Yep. I guess I had to do it in the seat that I paid like Fucking like five thousand dollars for four thousand dollars for Yeah, I guess that's really it's discrimination if They're gonna medical issue you can't get them off well they make medical airlines Well people with medical there are medical airlines is like air ambulance Australia and all those and you can be made Back to like when my dad broke his career. No, I'm not talking about though. I know those is I'm saying make a commercial airline for people with medical problems They can all sit in each other's Terribleness This episode's gonna get us I feel like we're 14 minutes in and there's been like six fucking beeps. I've just abused Harry in the workplace But you know what I'm saying like they like yeah, I got a separate separate compartment cargo You know what we need to start making we need to start making planes like trains I want like full metal separating doors between different things. I agree Carriages for I don't want to fucking little shitty little like That separates us. I have a name for what's that curtain the iron curtain the iron cap We're not really not because the smells are coming through So let's fucking like have not just one not just one sliding door make it like a drink too Yeah, and airlock To get through you have to behind you and then And like Fucking they like they doing like those fucking medical labs where they like blast all the germs off you Then you have to walk through the other side like the medical lab I went to in January and there's the video The like the like hyperbotic fucking chamber. Yes, the chamber. It's like all when you go into like the bird wildlife sanctuary at Teronga Zoo and like you can't get into the bird sanctuary because you have to open the first door go in first Or has to shut and then the second door will open yes exactly like the kangaroo walk about Yeah, so they don't come jumpin out so the birds don't come flying out like it's the movie Rio and little flapping every movie Rio So I watched that on Saturday night. That's gonna be you. I watched that I was so excited about my holiday that I watched on Saturday night What I just got back from holiday you're going on a thousand time. I'm gonna holiday in five months. I know But it's still exciting. I'm still excited. Yeah, I can't five months can come soon Five months cannot come sooner, but think about how much they will be in those five months. We've got Halloween We've got Christmas. We've got New years and then I'm gone and then you go on It's gonna go by so fast, but also I can't believe we've got 16 minutes into the open and we haven't even talked about 100k 100k views across all platforms across all streaming social media 100k views To this show which is insane apparently us talking you're interacting with us at some capacity whether it's love or hate and we appreciate We appreciate it. We've got Harry in the studio with us. Feel free to say hi. Hi Harry and world first placement is sitting here when the studio with us playing on his phone like an iPad child Eight episodes in and he's finally helping out. He's finally showed up to how many how many fucking times We've been here being like oh can someone someone Google that can someone look the subway you're on chat GPT and Google okay I'm We wouldn't apparently not they show it for the past subsidized by the government for having Harry here. Thank god we do yeah It's like this autistic subsidiary that they give us and yeah That's yeah, it is a little special needs payment that the company gets for having him here exactly. It's only reason is here Well He's special to me Harry you're special to us. You're so special to us and to the show Harry Can I touch you? Coming in for a touch now. Sorry. That sounds a bit weird on the audio. I think it's all good. We're just patting him on the back We can essentially patting him on the back after asking permission. All right guys. Well, let's kick it off Shall we kick it off the culture catch? All right. Let's go to the culture catch up stick around guys It's eight Charles worse nightmare with Grayson and Verity morning everyone Hey, Charles worst nightmare The culture catch up The culture catch up Eight Charles worse nightmare you're on the year it's Grayson and Verity here. It's time for the culture catch The culture catch up big one today big one today massive one. I think this is gonna be your favorite culture Being a big one is it was a big night last night. I went to the opening show of Slater's worst go in the world to uh Australia how was it? I want to hear everything because I purposely not really asked you this morning until we've like turned the mic So I really don't know how it was like give us every was incredible like so amazing it was um The highest high it was also super stressful. It was So much like stressful. Yeah. Why? Well, so it was it was just stressful because Have you ever been to the M or theater? No, I haven't I was saying this to Harry earlier today A concert like Lady Gaga's for instance, that's like what 100,000 people yeah That runs so much more smooth and well-oiled than A venue of 2,000 people just standing around you know what I mean Yes, like it's like a giant If I You know like I remember going to like the Gaga show and getting there like 40 minutes after the doors opened and being like probably not gonna get a good spot We were I take it to a front GA, but being like probably not gonna get a good spot. Yeah, and Getting there going through the front GA like it was so well managed like this is this this line is this this line is this this line is this I remember because I was really yeah you come in and then it was like And then it's yeah right next to it. Yeah, and there's a guy with that wristband color. Yeah, it was so well And I'm remembering that oh we might not get a good spot because we're so like late and we get through and we just like easily walk through It took like less than 20 minutes to get in and I was like at the very front Like a very front of the show last night. No, no, I'm talking about Gaga. I was at the very front of the show And I was like oh, like so well operated last night is only a the theater of 2000 people and there was no order. Everyone's just rush seated in a box or all GA. GA on the floor, GA up the top. Everyone's standing on the top. And it was just rushed. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like it was not there was no like guys keep like getting to the merch after was so stressful. You said you only got like it was sold out. Well no. So when we got there, we had an hour and I wanted to get merch. The merch line was the merch store is at the entrance of the building and the line was all the way to the stage. And I went either I'll try on my way out or I'm going again tonight. Well that's a thing again tonight. I'm going again tonight. Can you go early to do merch? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, you can only get merch on stores open at 7. I was hoping you could go like maybe that you know how some concerts do like they do like one hour without where they open. Yeah, you want to come get merch separately to the show. Yeah. So we get there and like merch line is all the way to the stage. And I was like, uh, if it's open when we leave, I'll do it then or I'll try my luck tomorrow. Yeah. It's open when we leave, but there's no one creating a line. Oh, was it just a fucking it was just like it was like a ball of people. And because it's at the entrance, it's like a pool of people half trying to leave the building and half waiting in line for merch. That was just this like big conglomerate like fuck of like people not knowing what to do where to go. And no one was guiding anyone. It was a nightmare. And by the time I got there, they only had extra largest in everything. So I got one thing in an extra large in case I don't get anything today. But I hope that I can do a bit of a shopping spree at the merch table. But other than that, which was totally all and more theater. Slater's was incredible. She's terrific. She's amazing. She's pop perfection. The show was incredible. She did what song she did have any unreleased songs for unreleased songs from the new album that's coming out. She did what with the songs she did crank to brand new Chanel's necromantic and I think he's got to go. And she brought the house down. She was incredible. As soon as the show started, I burst into tears. Naturally, naturally. I burst into it. It's like the lights went off and the set gets lit up and the set is a trailer trash caravan. And then the drum set was the dollar sign logo. The drum. It was inside of a really old dingy kayak with rubber tires hanging off it. So it was this old white trash caravan with this kayak next to it that had the drums inside the kayak. And then she had a carousel horse at the front and like tumbleweeds and like grass and like dirt. So for a concert, it was pretty experiential. It was. Yeah, it was great. It was like a really great set. And I think the fact that M. Or theater is so old, kind of really enhanced the vibe of the set as well because the set is super like trailer trash. But I think your Slater story is quite interesting because you were there. I remember you said it's not from day one, but you were there from like quite early on in her career. Like day three. Yeah. It was like the $40 ticket down it. What was it? My first. Yeah, she was. I saw her at her first tour of Australia for troubled paradise. I went to that and that was $40 ticket. I'm pretty sure. And it was at the Manning Bar upstairs in the University of Sydney to 200 people. And I was that is so cool. Yeah, I've got it. I've got a video of us. Me at the very front of the stage singing BFF from her first album, her mixed tape. Sorry. Singing in the mic together. And then I saw her the next time she was in Australia for her starfucker tour. She made a stop at great album starfucker, love starfucker. She made a stop at Mardi Gras. She didn't get to do it. She didn't have, I don't think she had the budget to do a tour of Australia. So Mardi Gras booked her. So she brought that tour down to one night for Mardi Gras on Bonte Beach. And I saw that right. Yeah. And then this is her next tour. And this is like, is this just an Australian tour? Or was this a world tour? This is a world tour. Okay. Cool. She's doing Melbourne Brisbane Sydney. Cool. And then what are the countries is she going to like, where she off to next after this? I'm not sure which is off to next after this. I know, obviously she's doing all of America. She's done the three major cities of Australia. I know she's doing definitely Europe. She's doing Germany, like all those kind of areas. She's doing, I know she's doing Brazil. She's doing. Yeah, she is. Yeah, she is. My girl is doing Brazil. But she's doing the world. She's actually doing a world tour. Unlike unlike some others who just do Europe and America and branded a world. And that's it. No, she's actually doing a world tour. So it was incredible. Do you have any thoughts on it Harry? You feel free to lean into the microphone? Oh, hang on. Do you do you want to sit in front of the microphone and feel really special? Hang on, move your chair over. Come here, come here. Hang on, I'm going to put you guys. Yeah, I want Harry to like have a little experience. Yeah. He's doing work experience. This is work experience. Work experience. Okay, hang on, I'll put your headphones on. And you're going to hear me speaking as well. Oh my god. Sit in the throat. Hey guys, how are you? Holy shit. This sounds so crisp. What the fuck? Yeah, hang on, go a little bit. I'm just grabbing the backwards. Oh my god. Grabbing the back of his hand pushing it towards the big black thing. Yeah, Grayson, can you get me a drink? What were your thoughts on Slater last night? This was Harry's first time seeing Slater. When did you discover her? Well, first of all, I just want to preface. Verity has a gun pointed at me, but it was the best it was the best concert that I've been to in a hot minute. But I think I discovered Slater like wallet 2023. You said you discovered her just after Starfucka came out? Yeah, I think it was either just before sometime around. Just the starfucka era. Yeah, honestly, it was everything more than that. Everything I wanted and more. Yeah, just phenomenal. My favorite part of the show was she said, she was like, Sydney, I love you so much. It's so good to be back here. And then she goes, like, obviously last time I was here, things are a bit different. The room was a bit small on. She goes, I just want to say thank you to everyone who's loved and supported me. And then she went, and if you're new here, we love you too. She went and she went, and if you're new here, we love you too. Like, is that kind of a read to like the new people? Yeah, yeah, I put the read. Do you remember her saying that? There was so much. Do you remember her saying it? I took it as a read because she was like, the room was a bit smaller last time I was here, but to those who were here for all the other shows, I appreciate your support so much. And if you're new here, that's okay too. She said if you're new here, that's okay too. And I went, I was like screaming my face off. Well, I actually have a question. So jumping back to what we were talking about, Merch, right? Yes. So was the Merch decently priced or was it like Gaga where you paint $450 million? Well, I'm wearing my Merch right now. Feel it. Feel it. It's actually really great quality. And it's got like look custom like Slater tag and everything. And every shirt was $60. Oh, bargain. Oh, that's fine. Every shirt was $60. Well, because Gaga's Merch was like $450, $50, and it's made by a funken team of Cambodian children in the village. It's good quality. Like for instance, I have a I have a jumper from her first tour for trouble paradise. And it's like one of those like generic name brand tags. And it's just got like Slater screen printed on the front of it. And it's like falling apart. So much of an upgrade like the Merch. Wait, do you have anything else you want to quickly add? I feel like I cut him off. No, you know what? I'm gonna go the bathroom. Okay, go to the bathroom. You can hold down the floor. Go to the bathroom. We'll have a Slater chat really quick. There was so many people there just for the gram. They were like 80 people like around me were just there trying to get videos for crank it. That was it. The room went off for crank it and beat up Chanel's. I screech. I lost my voice when we got home. You heard. Oh my god. Yeah, our voices were terror. I'm shocked that I sound. It's my decent today. What was that girl like Terry the 30 like the girl who spoke of Terry the Smoker. Rest in pace. Yes, of course. You saw the you saw the ad. I don't know what stage she was in. I thought she was still alive. No, she just survived that. She just sounded like a computer. No, no, no, no, she gone. But yeah, it was it was great. You could really like there was like the fans, but there was like it was really like mixed between like the fan fans and then like the the TikTok fans. Well, I had someone. We need the TikTok fans because even though they weren't screaming the other songs when the songs they knew came on like beat up Chanel's kind of a little. The vibe carried. Even the songs that people weren't necessarily screaming every lyric the way some of the fan fans were like I was screaming every lyric forms every song. But everyone knew the choruses of all the songs. So when the chorus came around, even the new events everyone knew the choruses of all the new songs because she only did the new album. Sorry guys, I'm back. Grayson is back. Harry's handed the headphones. What did you think of sitting in the throne? Did you have fun? He wants my job. He's coming up for a big job. You're not getting my job because your name's not on the fucking door. You're not getting on the poster. That's going to be me. I didn't hear what he said. He said. Oh, my God. We can think it. We can't say it. All in all, it was a fucking a thousand out of ten show. It was so great to see the amount of people that were there for her. Got going from 200 people to 2,000 people was incredible and the energy was incredible and to see everyone screaming her music was so like crazy, I can't imagine how I'm showing it is for her. I will be going again tonight to wrap off the perfect weekend and I'm contemplating being the crazy person that goes to stage door. I think you should. And if you want to get tickets to a show tonight, sucked in your can't because it's sold out. Sucked in your can't sold out. Congratulations. Just later. In other news also on the culture catch up. King Kyle. King Kyle is back. KS live launched this morning and I for all of you listening to give some context and backstory when I was 15 and 16 I interned for the one and only Kyle and Jacqui.io And we love them. We love Kyle and Jacqui. And obviously everyone's seen what's happened in the media and the news with them leaving AR and leaving KS and Kyle had some technical issues this morning with the news show but it was still. Today was like the grand opening. It was the grand reveal the first broadcast and I listened to it from 6th this morning because I was up at 530 to catch this flight. So I managed to listen to it from 6 to 7. It was amazing despite the fact that I had technical issues. Now the media can do their thing and fucking can't even drag into the media because that's what they like to do. But Kyle I know you'll be listening to this at some point. It was fantastic. We love you. We're so glad you're back on the air. Not on a podcast like we are. Hi. Hi. But live because that's what Kyle does best is live. So if you want to listen to it down to the KS live. Can you go back and relisten to episodes? Yes. Yeah. It's like they record it and you can go back and relisten to it. Yeah. So it's live and then once it finishes you can then go back and listen to each episode and it's a visual as well. So you get to see him. You see Brooklyn. You see the whole team and how weird is it that that's what he's doing and that's literally what we said like six months ago when we started this before we knew what he like he was doing. Yeah. What six months ago when we started coming up with like the ideas of this and how we wanted it to be a format formatted. We wanted to format it between like a podcast that you can rewatch and relisten a thousand times and also watch visually which we will get there eventually. Everyone keeps asking me for it. Everyone that talks me about I know I don't want visuals. I want to see you guys. I want to see you guys and we are getting there. We are getting there. Just keep supporting us. But that's what we said we wanted to be a mix of like a podcast. You can replay a thousand times and also watch but then also live radio style environment. So he's doing that as well. And you know the best part is that he doesn't have to listen to Akma because it's not on radio. It's online. He can say whatever he wants. Yeah. But yeah it was it was absolutely amazing. A big shout out to Kyle Bruno. You guys have worked so hard on this and we've all seen it from what's been put on TikTok and on Instagram and to be able to pivot within such a short time frame of coming off of the air at kiss to launching a brand new essentially radio station, a brand new app, a brand new radio station with an amazing ensemble as well. They got all the best people. They got like Brooklyn. They got the new newsreader Mary. She looks fun. Everything on the TikTok. Yeah. She's cool as fucking. She's he is hell. Yeah. She seems. But yeah. So if you want to check it out, download the KS Live app on the app store. It's Kyle Sandelands. How much is it? Is this a description? $99 a year. Oh yeah. Which some people are like, oh it's so expensive. I'm like, you spend there. She dollars on Netflix every month. It's not that expensive. Divide that by 12. It comes down to like less than a dollar a day or something. Yeah. Yeah. It'd be less. It's like 20 something cents a day. It's like 20 cents a day. How much is that a month then? That's like, what? Nothing. That's nothing less than 10 bucks a month. Yeah. Less than $10 a month for like for subscribing to that. Yeah. And they got so many subscribers. But they're they're going to do amazing that they're first show today. Go listen to them guys. They're fabulous. We love them. But actually, speaking of Kyle. Harry, can you go grab the piece of art over there? So about 15 years ago, Jackie sent me a poster of her and Kyle for Christmas. Hang on. Let's we'll put a photo of this on the Instagram. You'll see a real of this. But it's a photo of Kyle and Jack. And it says, "Too grace and can't wait to hear you on the air one day. Love Kyle." I just want to describe this photo really quick. It's a vintage like um beginning of the 2010s style photo in which Kyle still has color in his hair and beard. Um and he's wearing like a pinstripe purple, blue and white button up. And I'd like to talk about Jackie more to be honest. And she is fake tent for the gods. She is wearing what looks like a hard front side part wig even though it's not. But I'm obsessed with it. No, no, no, no, I'm obsessed with this like bleached blonde. She is like platinum white. Absolutely platinum white extensions in and thick tent for the gods. Baby blue floral button up dress. Smokey eye realness like from the neck up is porn star and from the neck down is like just some like teacher school and it's fabulous. I'm obsessed with it. And it's fabulous. And they're so young in this photo. I know. Don't they look great? They're so young. So I dug this up on the god coast house and I found it and I brought it back to Sydney with me because I feel like for affirmation, for affirmation, for manifestation, but I feel like it needs to go on the wall next to our poster because this is very full circle. Now it does. Kyle needs to come on our show firstly for an interview. But secondly, so he can sign his portion because it's only Jackie that's not because he was too lazy to sign it for the two ladies get to the 16 year old. So I want Kyle to write something like cheers cunts. I think I'd be something like that. Cheers cunts. Ks. And hopefully one day he's writing the checks too. You hear that Kyle? You want us to do the drive show. We're available. Hell yeah. We're available. Hit us up Kyle. But yeah, that's everything on the culture catch up. That is the culture catch up not much to talk about only because I was there is much talk about in later episodes that has happened pop culture wise. But I just really wanted to talk about say that for next week. Exactly. I think Slater and Kyle Stainlons is a nice little happy medium for today's show. I think that's a great medium. I completely agree. All right guys, we'll stick around. We're going to do the secret sound next. So if you want to guess what that sound is, DM us on hrswersnightmare.pod on Instagram. We're going to play the sound a little bit later and you got to guess it's $500 on the line from House of Flora. That's Houseoflora.com.au or House of Flora official on Instagram. We'll do it next guys. Stick around. You are listening to HR's worst nightmare. HR's worst nightmare. The problematic microphones are ready for this. You are on the air. It is gracing and verity here. We are Sydney's naughtiest podcast and it's time for the secret sound. It's time for the secret sound. Now we have a sh*t on a guess that has come through and we need to go through them. Now before we go through them, we're going to play the sound again. That's the sound. And I would also like if you remember from last week's episode, I did find out what the sound was because I was impatient and gave up and then you appeared. I was very angry and blown away. And then what all of you don't know is that when the mic's got turned off, verity stormed out. She was so pissed off. She left. She left. She went for a walk. She did a lap. She was on the block. I need a lap. So we have a sh*t on a guess that has come through and we're going to kick it off right now. First, cab off the rank is Julia in Bondi. Julia in Bondi says, is it a soap dish container lid being put on? A soap dish container. What is this? The 19 f*cking 60s soap dish? Like, you know, maybe she means one of those ceramic things. I mean, the ceramic soap, the lid on it on the top. Or like one of those little like, how you have those little like, yeah, those little trinket dishes with the lid that goes like, like, yeah. Something like that. Well, no, it's not that Julia. Sorry, tell. I don't know what that is. Next guess, it is Jackson in Waterloo. Jackson guesses, is it a dishwasher door closing? Oh, that's a good guess. It's another appliance. Everyone's going for a appliance. Everyone's taking the appliance through. It's not. It's not. Next guess we've got Taz in Bondi, who guesses, is it a candle lid being put onto the jar of a candle? F*ck off. F*ck off. It is. How does someone f*cking get? How do you get that? It doesn't sound anything like it. That's why I did it. How did he f*cking like, even figure that out? Don't know. And I think we should call him and give him his prize. Yeah, 100% because for those before we call, Taz is a friend of the pod who I can. He's a friend of the pod and a f*cking f*ck. Yeah, he's a friend of the pod and a friend of Grayson's who I can 100% confirm as a third party had no f*cking clue what it was. No, I had no clue. I was not told. He listens to every episode because supportive friend had no idea. I have no idea how the f*ck he figured it out. What he did, this is me. It actually makes me angry. You know why? You know why? You know why it makes you angry? Because he's a smart ass. So this is probably going to make him feel really big dick f*cking eyes so smart. Is he going to be through the f*cking roof right now? I figured it out. So yeah, let's call him. Should we call him? Well, he has to answer. I hope he answers. I hope he answers. He better answer. No one answers. Hello. Hello. Taz, it's Grayson and Verity. Okay. You're on the pod. So don't swear. Don't say anything that'll get you cancelled. We just read out the secret sound and we were reading out everyone's guesses and we read out yours which would is it the lid of a candle going on to a candle jar? I'm so angry about it. It is. That is what I was like when you when you mess with say, oh, I'm gonna call you and I was like, please don't let it be this. (laughs) - Well, congratulations, Taz, you've got 500 runs. - You won. - To spend at houseoflora.com.au or houseoflora official on Instagram. So happy to spend. - You won. How did you get it? - Well, I mean, I feel honored. Do you know what it was, is that we bought a candle together. And then I was thinking about it and I was like, oh, maybe it's that because then I was like-- - 'Cause you guys are probably smelling them all. - Yeah. - And then like clinking them all and off. And then Grayson was going on and on about how much he loves this fucking candle. - You can swear. - You can say fuck, you're like, say fuck on the show. - Oh, fine. - That's insane. - You naughty tart. (laughs) How'd you guess that, you naughty tart? (laughs) - I can't wait for you to come into work and I'm gonna kill you. (laughs) - You naughty tart, how did you guess the candle? - I'm just a genius. - What can I say? - But this is what, before we dialed you in, this is exactly what Verity said was gonna go out. - No, I literally just, you'll, no, actually I'm not gonna tell him what I said. He'll have to listen to it. He'll have to listen to the show. - He'll have to listen to the show. - He'll have to listen to the show all the time anyway. So I will find out. - Lucky you, it's your lucky day, you won. - You won. That's $500 to spend a house of florists. You have to come over to the shop and the warehouse and go in and have a look at bigger, whatever you want. - Well, thanks guys, I thought honored. - You're welcome. - Thank you for answering. - That's a simple shit. Now we need a new sound. - We need a new sound. - I have to come over to the sounds. - What about my win, what about my win another sound? - No, I think I'm gonna legally bar you from winning any future sounds. Well, we make it really difficult that you won't get it. - Yeah, I'm gonna answer it. - But I already thought it was difficult. - That it was, no, that's the thing. It was difficult. I don't get how he even connected the dots. - You gave free clues over the last three episodes. - I don't get it. - And then you just connected the dots basically. - They really listened. - I don't remember giving, I don't remember any of it. - What, can you remember what the clues were? - You did say last episode, you can set it on fire. So that was okay, true. But I was expecting people to think like, - Well, so at first, - He said I was like a seatbelt buckle. And then you were like, oh, it's in the house. And then you said like, - It's not a blind. - You have loads of in the house. And every or showing the house, I would have at least one. And then like, some other thing. And I was like, oh, maybe it's like a cupboard or something. Like, you know, like a closing door like mechanism. - Yeah, like the soft closing ones, yeah. - And I was thinking, well, no, because yeah, I'm not even gonna keep on going. (laughing) - Well, we did it. Congrats. - You did it, congratulate someone. - 500 dollars was going your way. - Yep. - All right. - All right, so, I'm seeing. Thanks guys. - All right, turn it off on board of the house. We'll see you later. - Bye. - Bye. - Bye. - Bye. - God, he has such nice accent, doesn't he? - Such a cheeky accent. - Can't believe he fucking won it. - Can't believe he won that. - We need to think of a new sound now. - Well, I've got to come up with a new sound. - You can't, I know what I'm not telling you what it is. - You're not gonna tell me, but you need to record it and then send it to me. - Yeah. - Just in a file and then I'll play it on the end. - Yeah. - We'll do the next one. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Okay. - We need to organize the prize. - Mm-hmm. I think we should have cash prize. - A cash prize? - I think a cash prize. - Okay, we'll discuss how much. That's coming out of our pockets team. - I'll pay for it, I don't care. Harry, do you wanna pay for it? - There's money flying around. - We've got money growing on trees. - H, I suppose. - H, Q. - H, Q. - The money grows on trees. - Money grows on trees. - Anyway. - Well. - Oh, I've got the shits now. - Why? - Because he got it. I was expecting this to go on for at least maybe five more episodes. - Oh yeah, I was gonna be honest. I didn't think it would, and it would be ending on episode three. - Yeah, into someone we knew. - Just based on what it was. - And to someone we know, which is what it's more annoying. - Which is gonna look dodgy. - Look at everyone in little rigamorant. - Well, that was the secret sound. - And that's it done. And now it's my turn to come up with the secret sound. - You gotta wait. You gotta wait. - I've got seven days. - I don't think it's something. - I'm really fucking anxious about it now. - I'm gonna do something really. I'm gonna, yeah, I'm gonna really think hard. I'm gonna ask chat for I. (laughing) - Good old chat. - Good old chat. We love you, chat. And speaking of loving people, we love all of you. - We love all our listeners. - I'm rich. - I'm rich. - I love you. - Thank you. - We love you so much to the world. - To the moon and back to the world. - The moon and back. (screaming) - Very distraught to Mark again. - Oh my God, I went the wrong way. I tried tightening it and I just made it loose. - Got that big black thing in your hands. - I just made it all loose and floppy. (laughing) - All right guys, I think that wraps up the episode. - That's not episode eight. - That's episode eight. If you wanna follow us from what we're doing, it's 8 Charles Wuerst Nightmare.
