Episode 63 - Getting to Know Psychological Astrology with Lauren Cummings
63m 41s
Natasha Levenger, a professional intuitive reader and energy healer, opens the podcast by sharing her personal journey of breaking free from toxic family patterns through inner child and energy healing. She emphasizes that these practices are not merely pseudoscientific but deeply transformative and effective, dispelling common skepticism. The episode highlights her upcoming self-trust class, designed to help listeners connect with their intuitive energy in a fun, accessible, and real-time way—without requiring prior experience or advanced knowledge. A central conversation with astrology expert Lauren Cummings explores astrology as a symbolic, intuitive language that reflects the human experience and personal growth. Lauren explains how birth charts reveal key aspects of one’s purpose, values, and energy patterns, stressing that understanding these elements fosters self-awareness and emotional clarity. Both guests underscore the importance of intuitive, holistic engagement over memorization or rigid systems, noting that astrology and energy healing offer deep personal insights when approached with openness and self-compassion. They also discuss the value of small, everyday observations—like bodily sensations—as stepping stones to greater self-understanding. The conversation ends with reflections on how personal planetary placements shape behavior and relationships, and the importance of embracing one’s full, complex energy to foster authenticity, balance, and empowerment. The episode concludes with a positive call to action, inviting listeners to join the self-trust class and explore their inner world with curiosity and care.
"Getting to know, getting to know all about."
"Woo."
"Getting to know, getting to hope you like."
"Woo."
Welcome to "Getting to know, I'm Natasha Levenger, a professional intuitive reader, energy
healer and inner child healing expert.
After being raised with extreme narcissism, I found talk therapy was helpful, but it wasn't
until I found energy and inner child healing that I was able to break free of family patterns
that cut me off from knowing and loving my true self.
I'm passionate about dispelling the rhetoric that these kinds of tools are infactical and
ineffective, and in this podcast, I will be sharing how actually beneficial and transformative
they are.
My husband and producer, Brett, will be joining me in conversation and we will be welcoming
experts along the way.
I'm excited to have you here.
"What is up, losers?"
"What is up, losers?"
"Breaking me a countdown to start talking, you know, when I hate countdowns, this one
was okay."
"Oh, I would not have given you one, had I known that?"
"I know, but. "
"What do you mean you hate countdowns?"
"Well, like, when I was on sets, like TV sets, movie sets, and they would, like, count
down, or they would be, like, okay, and, you know, they count down to action."
"What are they?"
"They're on movie sets."
"Yeah, movie sets, TV sets."
Sometimes they would do that or sometimes they would just be, like, "Okay, quiet on
the set."
"Oh, yeah."
"You know, and that was scared me."
"I can see how you would, you hate being told quiet on the set."
"It fills me with fear even I am the one who said it right now."
Sometimes occasionally, I would also be, like, me and three people would get the giggles
and we could not until they said "cut," and then I was like, "Can't thank God."
"Till they said "cut" and then you could stop."
"Yeah."
"However, you ever allowed on sets."
"Well, it wasn't always that that would happen, but I would fill with anxiety and a couple
of times, you know, when I was, when I was the one in being filmed, like, one time I
had to, I was a stand-in on Twin Peaks, and I had to be, like, for some reason I was being
filmed, but it was like the back of my head or something, but it was like a close-up,
and I got very scared.
I don't know.
Were you there for coverage, like, for, like, when someone else was talking?
"Yeah, I remember why they were doing this."
It was, it was more than it.
Maybe it was just a test, and they were testing something, and they were filming me,
like, super close-up, and the camera man was like, "You were really nervous."
And I was like, "Okay, go on, and at the time I felt anxious about being, like, I was
ashamed of my nerves."
"Oh."
"I know."
"But, yeah, I don't understand.
That is one thing, like, I feel like I am actually a good actor, but the whole preface
to it just screws me up."
"Yeah."
"Oh, it's a good thing I'm not a TV or movie star."
"Do you feel that way?"
"Wait, have you ever done a play?"
"Yeah, oh, God.
Terrible."
"It's worse or better?"
"Terrible.
It depends how much I got in my head.
You've seen me in plays.
I did."
"Well, yes, of course.
I mean, that's an insane question for me, especially if I thought about it for a half
a second.
We literally have had a poster up for most of a person in that by I directed it."
"Yeah, that's true, but like, yes, I wrote it."
"Well, no, I was in a play that you have seen.
It was like a comedy.
I don't understand why we have lines or whatever, but I got so in my head with that.
Improv fine, plays, no, because you have to say the thing at a certain time."
"There's pressure."
"There's so much pressure.
Improv no pressure.
You can say whatever the fuck you want."
"It's interesting that you feel no pressure.
Improv not amazing."
"Well, I mean, I did have a lot of states here."
"It's comedy without a net, babe."
"Oh, yeah, babe."
"It's a different kind of pressure with that."
"Yeah, I know that it's supportive when you're playing with the right people."
"Yeah, exactly.
But I can release it because it's like, I could sit here and never think.
I mean, I didn't all believe me.
There were certain situations where improv had a lot of pressure.
It depends on the situation, of course.
But if it was like with people I'm comfortable with, et cetera, no, that's fine."
"I see."
Any hussers, any hussers, losers, hurry in any further.
I want to say that there are currently, as of this taping, three spots left in my self-trust
class, and I would absolutely love to have a loser in it.
Or more.
Actually, I know I have a few losers in the other.
I'd like to have more losers.
What's their, do they have a code?
Yes, they do.
I believe it's just losers 10, W-O-O-G-E-R-S-10 for 10 percent off this class.
That's right.
losers 10, and you can do it in a payment plan.
So that would make it 360 with two payments, if you like.
This class, what was that face?
Two interest-free payments, and let's put them out, so it doesn't cost you anything to
split it up if that's helpful to you.
Of course.
And I'm teaching my psychic skills that I use in a new lens, in a self-trust lens.
So, both, if you've never taken a psychic class from me before, you will learn skills,
new skills, new tools.
And you don't have to be advanced, you don't have to know anything.
This is all very much working with your own energy, and then getting real-time feedback.
On your intuition, on feeling into this more of who you are on an intuitive level, and
getting feedback from us in real-time.
Our eyes are closed.
They're so little.
There's no speaking of pressure.
None.
Because it's fun.
I like to have a lot of fun in my classes.
Thank you, pressure.
If you have had classes with me, that's also good, because while I am teaching some of
the same stuff, it's in a different lens, so like, you're always going to be learning.
Hashtag always something.
Yeah.
And also the skills that you're covering in this class are the skills that always pay to
come back to.
And it's not like you would not get something out of revisiting it anyway.
Anywho, that is what's happening.
I'd love it if you'd sign up.
We start the one that has spaces left in it is Tuesday night, and it starts this coming
Tuesday.
What is this?
July 28th.
That's what it is.
That's right.
At 5 a.m. Pacific, 8 a.m. Eastern, yeah, and I would absolutely love to see you there.
So go to Natasha11ger.com, you'll see a banner at the top.
It says New Class, or you can go to Natasha11ger.com/self-trust for all your self-trust needs.
Anywho, we have my amazing astrology teacher on today.
I am in a certificate program almost done with the first part.
So I can officially read birth charts although, I don't know, that if I do do it professionally,
I'm going to definitely start out at a lower rate than my sessions that I've been doing
for 25 years or the skills that I've done for 25 years.
I just, it's important to me.
Anyway, it doesn't matter.
One point is, I love it.
I'm obsessed with it.
I love Lauren.
I'm obsessed with her.
She's a fellow, Aquarius, son.
She's a laborizing.
I'm a labor moon.
If you know, you know, yes, they're moon, which means she has a lot of feelings.
It's harder for me, that's my, I mean, it isn't, it's for other people, and true Aquarian
nature.
It's easy for me to access feelings for other people.
But when it comes to myself, it's like, why?
And how does that help the community?
How does that help the world to access my own feelings, just getting, of course, it does?
Ah, jokes on me.
Do we have anything else?
Listen, I just want to tell everyone not to oversaturate you with astrology, but there
has been major astrology, and I write the energy reports for my sub-stack every week
for the paid people, and I can't help but feel into, I feel into the energy first.
But the astrology is, it's been pretty wild.
We're almost at the end of Mercury Retrograde, so that'll be a lovely time for a lot of
jobs.
Oh God.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Were you going to say something?
Well, I was just going to warn the listeners that we had some Mercury Retrograde style technology
problems at the beginning, and it is at the moment and clear how well I will be able
to address them in the interview, but I'll cut this if we couldn't, and if I could,
or no, if I could deal with them, you won't hear this, but if I couldn't, my apologies.
You're hearing it right now.
That's right.
It's coming from inside the house.
That's right.
Is there anything else you would like to add before we get to our interview, what we've
been feeling doing, knowing in our world?
Well, I've had some stuff percolating up for me, but I don't know if it's fully formed
enough to talk about, but just to say that it's been fascinating, just like feeling
some pull towards self-discipline and structure in my life that is coming from a place of curiosity
and care for myself as opposed to criticism and whipping myself into shape.
Nothing has come of that yet.
Well, it's interesting.
There is a lot of clearing out.
This year is a big clearing year, specifically the first half of it.
If you have been doing any type of work on yourself for having some self-awareness, I think
that there has been a big assist in releasing what hasn't been working.
Actually, I'm really glad you brought that up because one theme actually that's coming
up is that things you might dismiss as being too small or something is actual information.
For instance, what you just said is like, "Oh, I feel a little bit nicer to myself about
this when I think about it."
That is important to note that.
That's real.
Noticing that will then help the next, follow the next breadcrumb.
I talk about that a lot of my classes too, but just tiny little breadcrumps.
Something I've been noticing is that with feelings, especially if you're someone who has been
in freeze response or you were not allowed to have your feelings growing up, having feelings,
I expect them to come on in big waves.
"Oh, wait.
I'm feeling a little sad, but I can't really feel into that because I'm not feeling an overwhelming
sense of it."
There's something there, but anyway, what I'm trying to say is I'm noticing with myself
with challenging feelings that it's helpful to look at them just as little sensations first
and recognize, "Okay, that's a sensation in my body.
I'm going to just notice the sensation as opposed to being in my head or intellectualizing
something."
"Okay, or if you get worried," and I might think, "Well, maybe I need to feel my feelings,
but I don't know what feelings there are.
There's no feelings there."
I'm just, you know, so then I actually drop into a sensation and it may be a tiny sensation
but that means that is still a sensation, that's still a feeling.
"Yeah, that's very interesting."
"Yeah.
Why were you going to say something else about that?"
"No.
I mean, but just like that is a way to pay attention to this."
"Yeah.
So notice the little things not in a hypervigilant way, just in these things do matter.
They are real and also like little victories, little happiness, little all of this builds
and the more we value it and note it from that kind of place versus dismiss it, the more
you can release what isn't yours and have, you know, expand into what you do want and
who you are."
"Yeah.
Yeah."
"So that's the deal with that.
Let's get to our interview with the wonderful Lauren Cummings.
She is the head lady at the Lunar Child Institute, right?"
"Yes.
I had lady is what I was laughing at."
And I'm just going to read her little brief thing about the Lunar Child on her site.
She says, "Astrology, the Lunar Child is astrology as a grounded, liberating path back
to your true self.
The Lunar Child was created for people who feel burned out by the systems they're living
in and no deep down there has to be more.
This is a space rooted in honesty, vulnerability and real life.
It's more than a business.
It's a movement for people ready to remember who they are beneath conditioning, survival
and burn.
And here's our interview.
Lauren, I'm so excited to have you here.
Thank you for being here with us.
Of course.
Of course.
Behind the scenes, listeners, we had a very, it's as if it was for you our Mercury Retrograde
issues.
Bret and I never are in the same room, actually, together when we do this.
We are literally sharing one mic.
So if there's any strangeness with the audio of my apologies in advance, then I'll try
to fix it in post.
Anyway, so Lauren, you are my astrology teacher for, do you want it?
Well for decode, is that what you call your astrology class or how would you define it?
Yeah, that's my method.
It's really the Lunar Child Institute is really my astrology school that I'm scaling and growing
right now with different modalities.
But decode is my certification track to train people on how to use astrology as a coach
and integrate it into their businesses.
Oh, I didn't even realize that it was just for coaches.
It's not fully just for coaches, it's for anyone like I have an account coming next round.
And she really wants to work with her clients on money blocks and using their charts.
So it's not just for coaches, but in a way helping them translate, coaching them on their
chart in a way.
I see.
Okay.
So Brett can attest to the fact that I've basically been at the same level of understanding of
astrology for eight years.
Like since 2018, my previous podcast got me kind of into it and that just happened naturally.
And then I just kept feeling like I was staying at this one level, which was slightly frustrating
but not enough to do anything about.
And then I don't know what happened, but someone, a mutual of ours posted like they had had
a session with you.
So it wasn't mutual.
I guess it just had a session with you.
And the, and I just was like, she was raving about it.
It was actually, yeah, I won't say it was him here, but she was raving about it.
And then I just like looked at your website and was basically ever, it was basically like
me.
It was written for me, everything that you were teaching was like parts work.
And you have to, everything that I do, but then like plus astrology and like using that
and I was like, I just had a full body.
I don't think I've ever had such a full body, yes, for like something I was supposed to
do.
I was like, oh my god.
And then I never told you that, I guess.
And then I've never had really the chance to.
And then it just like, everything opened up for me.
I'm suddenly like, it's like, I feel like that video or that meme of a beautiful mind.
So it is like where it's like all the parts like come together and like writing on the
windows and then the math equation, yeah, yes, yes, like I'm suddenly like slowly getting
it, getting it, it's just like open up for me, whether or not I can translate it well,
I don't know, but for me, I'm feeling it.
And you were saying that too, right?
That like, yeah, there's just clearly been a click like a like all of the pieces that
she had assembled now make a whole set of knowledge.
Yeah.
That's what it feels like.
Yeah.
And it's the moment.
It's the, it's just when everything goes, I know that moment and it's the best I can
feel.
It's so great because I would, I had such an interest in not to make this all about me,
but I had such an interest in it.
And then I would always ask my clients like, just give me your, your birth information.
Just for, usually I would ask my like mentorship clients of that, like just so I have it, just
so I kind of know it, not my like one off people, but, um, but I couldn't really do much
with it.
I was just like, okay, this is very interesting and, okay, I don't know enough.
But the way that you describe astrology, it's just like, make sense.
It's like you are so good at describing it in a way that like lands in the body and
like, it's like, oh, okay, I got it.
Thank you.
I mean, you're really good though things you've already created, doing the Kermit clearing
and everything, it's amazing because I think astrology is such a tool that can be integrated
in all different businesses.
And so you've really taken it from a different perspective, which I love instead of just sitting
down and doing a chart reading, you're sitting down and getting to the under levels, which
I thought was so cool.
Well, yeah, I mean, because you were talking about it like past lives are, I just didn't
ever hear it that way before like past lives are in the 12th and then I already do past
life stuff.
So then I felt into it and I was like, oh, my God, I could just like see it all open up
and like, yeah, it's just really cool.
But you were saying before how do you think of astrology like you were saying, yeah, talk
about that a little bit.
So it actually has evolved a lot since I started studying astrology.
but I'm realizing if you just dumb it down your birth chart is the road map to
even want to call it awakening consciousness enlightenment doesn't really
matter what the language you're using but when you realize that that is that
road map it is the same thing that the Bible does right the Bible is an
archetypal language of how to overcome your hardships and live life from the
heart if I had to sum it up. Strategy is the exact same thing and it's before the
Bible it was just another way to explain to humans yes life is hard everyone's
gonna experience the hardships this is your hardships this is your life lessons
and it gives us a little peak into it and when you could decode it and
understand it then you can see where you could expand to so it also gives this
expansion moment of like this doesn't have to be my life I can evolve and I can
change my stars quote-unquote there's a level of faith that you're destined to
do specific things but along the way you get to shift so when I realized that
was like oh it's just another language of energy and how humans work and so
when people say like oh we live in a simulation there's just another language of
astrology tells us what the code is I mean it's just another yeah and so that's
how I've dumped it down and I'm like oh my god this is so useful for humans
because it resonates and it's so accurate to their own life yeah was astrology
something that you like most people in the United States at the very least are
taught to like that astrology is a fun thing in the newspaper or I just
dated myself but you know like on Instagram kids or whatever but not are not
really taught to give it any level of respect so was that something that you
encountered young and if where did you and like start that path toward
realizing like seeing this as something that can be legitimate and helpful to
people actually was raised super Catholic so it was the devil and I was not
allowed to touch astrology we G boards even though I did sleep overs and so I had
no contact to astrology but it kept finding me like friends kept me like oh
do you know your son's high and I never resonated with Aquarius which is
funny that you're a queer sometimes I like I never resonated until I was an
adult I didn't really either yeah and now look at us yeah but yeah it was in
college someone came in for a semester to rent a room and she started
reading everything and I was like this is really cool and then I never really
picked it up again went to grad school to become a therapist and during grad
school I had you know all the rabbit holes of spiritual awakening going to
psychics more experimenting had some really cool psychic readings and so I was
like okay I want to find a spiritual therapist and my therapist said I actually
partner with an astrologer do you want to do a reading and that's our therapy
content so that was my entry way and after that reading I promised myself I would
do this for clients because it felt like she just followed me around with a
video camera knew everything about my childhood why act the way I do why I really
should start the way they are and it just opened my eyes and so I saw it from a
psychological lens and then since I'm a social worker we learn systems and I'm
like this isn't up their system and so now I just pair it and so I studied it I
had amazing supervisors they let me actually integrate it into my practice when
I was studying to be a therapist wow because they do they let you that's part of
why I never I actually started school for therapy and I just kept getting a
no I had already done on my energetic training and I just was like it wasn't
even conscious but I found it not allowed to do this as a therapist so it's
definitely great insurance would be pissed but my supervisor was like I she's
very holistic and she said coded as young and therapy because young study
astrology in the intersection in the early 1900s and then also just spiritual
therapy so we never put astrology well I grew up in the Mormon church so I have a
lot of similar relationships to things not Christian in my growing up like
just you know it's the devil or it's just you know nonsense it's like
having a toddler it's sorry the cat that I'm trying to balance while I'm
talking into the mic that we're sharing most chaotic interview we've ever done I
what was I saying oh but it's like they I my members of my family have gone to
overtly Christian therapists where they will pray in therapy and like and do
it all through a scriptural lens and there's no apparent issue with that for
insurance so that's frustrating that they would have a problem with other
spiritual modalities 100 percent they even have a problem with this psychological
board in America will not let them practice EFT which is shocking and that is
why there's so much research on EFT is they're trying to fight the board to
allow psychologists to practice it and they won't let them so it's just more
red tape have them do EMDR but not EFT I don't know and that's why people are
really upset that's crazy and just shows you why yeah yeah so you use it then
you do still use it one-on-one with people can you I mean our listeners are
probably like very familiar with astrology but I'm trying to like figure out how
to explain how you like you also do you you are very intuitive so there's
something about like you kind of combine both as you're doing it yes I was
taught astrology through an intuitive lens my mentor very much push the fact
that astrology is just symbolic language so if you're only trying to come at
it from the head and try to memorize terms you're not going to be able to read
your client so that's why people can Google placements and be like that's not
me at all well one there's so much more to the chart and two if you're not
intuitively feeling into what your client might experience because there's such
as spectrum as you know you're not going to be able to nail it for them and so
yes I do teach very intuitively because I've just noticed how one placement
can manifest so differently with everyone and so I think it's a big part of it
I feel like that's also why people dismiss astrology because they're like well
that's not me but there are so many facets I was reading this report I ordered
I'm a bachelor in Sedona last night some of it was shockingly accurate and other
parts I was like that is not me that is not me and it was just a computer
program right that just spit out a bunch of stuff so I do think that that's a
huge issue even using AI and things that people are using now it's great
resource in the beginning but it's only going to get you so far it's so after
leaving the Mormon Church I swung hard the other way toward agnosticism and
atheism and was you know like only science and nothing I can't touch is real
that kind of thing and you know I so as I have swung back to somewhere more in
the middle more comfortable without and exploration I have come to see
astrology as like it is so much more layered than the like everyone falls into
one of twelve buckets like which is the way I feel like it's commonly
understood and it's there's just so much more to offer and also I love the
way that you're talking about it as a symbolic language as like one way to
describe the human experience and what we might be here for and what you might
benefit from trying to explore so yeah well what's cool about astrology that I
don't know if you've gone down the rabbit hole of the logic and all the research
there is an astrologer called Ziggy she's on TikTok and she she had a mentor
who has since passed but hasn't studied for decades and she has studied the
stock market with the moons and there is so much data that she has of how our
buying behaviors human behaviors fluctuate and so I think as science and
data comes more forward I think more people are gonna be studying astrology as
well so I'm really excited to see all the stats that come with it as well I
mean I feel like that's gonna happen with all kinds of it makes me angry
honestly which is why I started this podcast but it's like there I'm sure there's
going to be so much evidence for why energy healing works for why chakras are
like holding our memories and holding you know ancestral coding I'm sure at
some point all of that's gonna come out and it's just gonna be like obviously
and also it's because we were in a patriarchy that was threatened by the
unseen information and only you know the brain what they can see in touch
information so okay if somebody is want it's kind of like how I was I feel
like the one thing that got me like that started to open it up was when you
said the chart ruler how did you how do you put it like what the chart ruler is
of your chart tells you so much about yourself yeah your chart ruler is the
planet that ultimately rules how you move through this world how you're gonna
be constantly responding so whatever it is in your birth chart is actually where
we're meant to really focus to be able to achieve why we're here to rise
above to our emcee
but what most people don't understand is it's typically overused, right? So your Jupiter and
Scorpio, you might have driven so into expanding so into the depths and really trying to find meaning
that it can be overactive and what I'm noticing as I'm doing my own research is it's usually
our most protective part. So the chart ruler is our path to achieving what we came down here to do,
but we have to be careful because in the programming of the patriarchy, it typically has been
programmed into the shadow. So like my Venus Capricorn, I work, work, work, work. I'm so afraid to be
fail of success, but really I'm just here to enjoy the journey of working, right? And so it's just
interesting. So you, so like just to break it down a little bit because I think you might be saying
things people may not know. So like MC is the, is, explain what that is real quick. Your MC is
at the top of your chart. When you were born, it was the highest point of the chart of the sky,
and that is your sole purpose. That is what you came down here to achieve in this lifetime.
Your rising sign is the lens. It's the glasses you see things through. So whatever your rising
sign is, is really how you're actively responding. Well, there's a planet that rules that.
So that rules the rising sign. And so that planet is how you drive your life. It's how you make
decisions. It's how you're responding. It's that part of you. So yours is Jupiter. You're really
heavily in your beliefs. That is how you make your decisions. And for me, I'm heavily in my values
as a Venus. If someone was a Mercury, world person, Virgo or Gemini, they're going to be really
moving through logic. That is how they make their decisions. So that chart rule is telling you,
how are you moving through life? And that is the way to achieve your MC, your sole purpose down here.
What does MC stand for? Mid-Haven. Mid-Wade to Heaven. Yeah.
And we're, but he's sadrizing. I often feel like so funny about Jupiter rule.
I know we're both Jupiter and both our kids are both Mars ruled.
Oh, we have so much balance in our house, though, by the way. Although, yes, we get,
it's not easy for us over here. Well, I'm actually laughing because that moment was just was very
typical of where I am in relation to astrology. Like, I understand a lot more than I used to,
but your reaction, Lauren, to the fact that our children are Mars ruled and we are Jupiter ruled.
I had no idea what that meant, but it was very clear it meant something.
Well, because it means that you and Natasha like respond in similar ways to life. Like, you're both
want to adventure and explore and understand the meaning of life from different lens. She's
very looking at it from an intuitive psychic lens. You're looking at it through a philosophical lens.
If you're sadrizing, you're like, but I want to know why. What's the truth? And she's like,
well, because intuitively, we just know, like, that's the difference between it is that and I see.
And you're doing a podcast, which why that works, right? Because you're both on this journey of
exploration, but from different lenses where your kiddos are both here to take action in life.
They're not here to sit around. They're doing one of them Scorpio ones areas. So
it is interesting because the Scorpio Mars ruled certainly doesn't feel like she's here to take
action currently under current times. Well, she's being held back. Yeah. Sure. She does have
physical disability, but yeah, but she they're both very like when you said Mars ruled,
like there's definitely a drive happening. I feel like the Scorpio is more emotional drive.
That's a thing is there's a level that she's going to take action in her life, but Scorpio,
risings have a lot of energy to move through to be able to take that action. So she when she
really conquers that, she's very emotionally strategic. She knows when to go where area just goes,
like, let's go, let's go. I'll run into the wall. And then the Scorpio
kids probably like, hmm, there's a new action right now. I know that it's not strategic,
so why am I going to do that? Right? So they both are, but just again, different lens of what their
purposes. Yeah, it's so interesting. And then they're, I mean, they do kind of, they don't run us over,
but it's with a lot of effort on our part. I feel like it is there's a lot of bounce though. All
of our sunsines are in a different element. There's also like what all of our Mars are in a different
element. It's really kind of crazy how we're very balanced in this house. There's a lot of all
four, like different things or the same thing, two and two. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, I think it's
interesting when we start bringing down like your chart like this is, I tell people, everyone has
the exact same science planets, houses like we all do, we're all energy. We just have our own
restaurant, our own baking recipe to it. And so it's like you guys came to all have a dinner party
and everything was really cohesive at your dinner party. Yeah. All the plates with some families
is out like that is like oil and vinegar and your family unit was like, no, let's come down here
for a reason. And something to think about for both of you is your kids' rising is exactly what the
family unit needed at the moment that they were born. Interesting. Very interesting. Yeah. That was,
I guess we needed a little chaos in our. Yeah. I mean, we love her, but it's definitely chaos.
Is it the one that has the same energy? Yeah. We were talking about how both of our
kids never smile at cashiers or anything. Well, when our oldest was little, it's used to do that.
And Lauren and I both have Libra energy, which is very like wanting to please and make everybody
happy. And like, and I saw it like as soon as our oldest like would go when I'd go up to a cash
year and that wasn't happening, I was like, breathe, I'd have to like really be like, I'm not forcing
her to do anything. So I have to get comfortable with all of this. Yeah. And I think this is why
I love astrology is the amount of people are like, she's so grumpy. They don't even know my cat.
And I'm like, no, right. You actually slow to warm up. Thank you.
Yeah. No, it doesn't. And it's just learning your own energy. So you're not projecting what
you expect. Right. So I would, when she came out, I was like, oh, shit, I'm such a people
loser. And she's teaching me not to. And if I didn't have this, I'd be like, smile, baby,
smile, smile, I mean, would serve. Yeah. And that wouldn't even be possible anyway.
We just be like, fuck you.
Yeah. You asked me to, I'm not going to. And it is funny because the older she gets, she
actually will say like, I know I'm, I don't want to do something just because you asked me to.
And even if I want to do it, like she can articulate that now. So it's so interesting to like,
I don't know, respect their energy before they have words for it. And if you don't have kids,
you can apply this to animals, by the way. I just respect because I do feel, yeah.
Or co-workers or, or yeah, I guess, or just like accept that this is who they are.
My favorite mantra is, can I allow this person to be who this person is? It's just like,
free through that. Yeah. Okay. But coming back to how people can, like,
so how that unlocked for me, again, like that was one big thing. So then
if someone knows their rising sign and they can do that by, if you have to know your birth time,
though, that's the thing that it's so frustrating if you don't know your birth time. Like,
neither of my parents had their birth time on their birth certificate.
There was about a decade in time around your parents time probably where they stopped doing it.
It was so crazy. I mean, they just started doing it again. I don't know. Although it's,
I think it might have been in New York or something because his dad's around the same age,
and you, we have his birth time. Yeah. Although that may have just been family knowledge,
I don't know for sure that it came from a birth certificate.
Oh, that was, yeah. Yeah, like a baby book or something. Yeah.
Yeah, but so you can look at that. You can know your rising and then just like, look up. What's that?
What's that ruling planet? What planet rules that sign?
And then you can look to where that, so for instance, I'm ruled by Jupiter because of
Pisces rising. And then I look at where's Jupiter in my chart.
Right. Yeah. For me, it's the ninth house, although it's 8,000
class of this, but it's 9,000 and it's in Scorpio. So that helps me know like,
oh, Jupiter is first of all, and then we learn like Jupiter is a planet of expansion,
or like it expands whatever's there, right? Yeah. Would you say that?
It expands things because it wants to seek out meaning. And it's also our face.
And so it's really around like, what do you believe? And ultimately,
when we master our Jupiter, that is when we become more abundant and lucky in life.
For anybody. For anybody. I've just like, allowing ourselves to really dive into Jupiter,
where I think popusrology is like, it's luck and it's abundance. That's not necessarily true.
It is only that when you expand and you allow your belief systems to really anchor
if you are in the shadows. So say you were very much the shadow of Scorpio and was obsessive
and manipulative and so fearful of abandonment. Jupiter's going to expand that.
And so you could actually have really toxic relief.
relationships in your life and people would be like,
"What? Your show's be lucky in that."
And then it's like, no.
That's why you want to be careful
about poppy astrology online
because it will steer you in the wrong direction.
- 'Cause it's sort of like distills things
to one thing or another.
- Yes, it's like the Sun Sign thing
that got really popular when this book was published
and then it dumped it down.
I kind of a theory that the patriarchy
doesn't want us to know our astrology
because if we all did know our astrology,
we would not be doing what we're doing.
- Yeah, I mean, I think they,
I wish they gave it that much credence
and they being like anyone who is playing it down,
but I feel like it's just so dismissed, so looked on.
I mean, in part I think because as you pointed out,
all who stuff is viewed as feminine
and anything feminine is inherently less than
if not just not worth at all.
- Yeah.
- I'm curious to know, you bring this back to us.
You mentioned earlier that Natasha
approaches things from an intuitive place
and I may approach things from a philosophical place
which definitely resonates.
And also then you mentioned Jupiter
like getting your beliefs in order.
This may be too big a question,
but how would you distinguish
between like philosophy and beliefs?
- So, first off, can I just ask where your Jupiter is?
- Absolutely, I don't remember.
- Yeah, that's how I need to know your energy.
- I know, I feel like I know everything except that.
- So this story, I want to think about like Jupiter
is the, so if you think about astrology as a story,
like I kind of mentioned, the sun is the king of the realm.
It is your core personality house you shine
where Jupiter is the philosopher.
In the sense of in the human experience,
we are going to be searching for meaning.
And on your searching for meaning,
you're gonna create a belief from it.
So you swung, right?
You had certain beliefs when you were in the Mormon church
and then you swung your beliefs.
But along the way, there had to be some philosophical meaning
of like, well, why would the Mormon church do this?
And why would we dig it out, right?
And then you're like, I decided on this belief.
And then all of a sudden, that's how I'm like,
so curious where Jupiter is because then it's done with it.
- Okay, so Gemini is very curious.
It is the sign that rules learning.
So you have the planet that wants to expand and philosophize
where Gemini is like, yes, let me learn everything.
It's exciting and it doesn't like to go super deep.
It's like, well, this and this and this and this.
Where Jupiter likes to go deep,
it wants to really understand something
to create a belief of it, right?
'Cause you can learn something and just dismiss.
Jupiter's like, I wanna learn it
and then I wanna figure out a belief in it.
So for you, that's probably why you've had
so many different belief systems is 'cause you learn
and then you get deep into it.
- Yeah, that's very interesting.
I literally want to know everything
and everything about everything.
So that's crazy.
- And Gemini is logic.
So think about in the zodiac, like we are logical beings.
We have left brain and we have a prefrontal cortex.
That is what Mercury rules in our birth chart,
which rules Gemini.
So for you, when Natasha was telling you about the podcast,
she was like, yeah, he came at it
for more from a logical lens, which makes sense.
'Cause your Jupiter is sitting in the sign of logic
where her Jupiter is sitting in the sign of shadows
and emotions and Scorpio.
So it's just really funny of how you guys blend.
Similar but different.
- Yeah.
- And it's in another layer for people.
This is why it is so crazy or awful
that astrology is so dumbed down
because there's so many layers.
It does explain because there's so many layers.
And on top of it, it's in his seventh house of relationships.
So how would that add to that?
- That means that where he expands is through people
and so through conversations with people.
So Gemini is like, hey, I want to learn
and then I want to share.
It's the chatty sign.
And so you're like, I know all this, let me go share.
I know all this, let me go share.
And so then through these conversations,
you just continue to expand and expand and expand.
And then that is the marriage house as well.
So not only it's on any one-on-one dynamics,
it can be co-workers, it can be enemies,
but it's also marriage as well.
- I'll have to get some enemies.
- And then mine is in that, I guess it's in its home
of that belief systems, the ninth house.
- Yeah, it's very comfortable in the ninth house.
- Yeah, so it's like even further,
I want to go deeper and deeper and deeper into, yeah.
And then I want to share it and then also,
yeah, I want to teach it.
- Yeah, it is interesting because we are talking about
how I'm actually more comfortable, one-on-one usually,
but I also do want to teach, like everything I learn,
a new thing, I'm like, I have to share this.
- Yeah, it does almost with you feel more like
sharing than teaching.
I mean, you love teaching, I think you teach very well,
but it feels more like, hey, like take this.
- Yeah, yeah.
- As opposed to, like, here's this thing I have
that I want you to also have as opposed to come learn
from me and this, as I am a font of knowledge,
but you are.
- I think that you're speaking to the Scorpio,
because Scorpio's more around, let me get deep with you
and raw so we can alchemize where,
I think those were saying, here's my knowledge,
like I want you to have it so you can feel it,
you can alchemize, and so you can hold people,
whether it's like class, it could be one-on-one,
like you are there mentors on how they can
alchemize their energy, where if it was like,
Sagittarius, Sagittarius would sit down everyone
and listen to me, like that would be the energy.
- Interesting, that's funny.
- Well, is there something, yeah, I don't know,
I just want everyone to have the same experience
that I had with your way where it's like open top for them.
I mean, I think we did a little bit,
but do you, if someone is starting,
let's say we'll take it from a different,
like a couple ways, one if they're more where I am
and then before, or like maybe more where Brett is.
So like, if, yeah, someone is like where Brett is
and they were like, let me learn a little bit more,
or what would you say to them about astrology
that would like their way in maybe?
- Yeah, so I would tell them that every think about it
as your birth chart is a family inside of you,
and every planet has a purpose.
So, Sun is the purpose to being seen.
It is around you experiencing your most authentic self.
Everyone has authentic energy.
And then the ego created identities
that make us feel scared to share authentic self.
So look to your Sun sign, see what sign it's in,
and be like, okay, that is where I'm supposed to shine
and just be authentically me.
This is why people sometimes don't connect to their Sun sign
because there are wounds and there are fears
of being seen in that way.
Then go to your moon sign and be like, okay,
wherever my moon is is where I'm supposed
to find emotional safety.
Now, it's moon's very complex, there's a lot here,
but you can look at it that and be like,
this is how I emotionally regulate,
engage in that element, start playing with that,
you're gonna notice, wow, I'm so much more grounded in life.
Go to your Mercury, Mercury is how you communicate,
how you think, how you process information.
So when you read about that sign, you're gonna understand
why you think the way you do,
why you communicate the way you do.
This is huge for a society that we had to sit down
and learn in one specific way, we don't all do that.
And that's what Mercury represents.
Then go to Venus, Venus is where you value yourself.
It's yourself worth, it's representation of that.
So look at it more through that lens
and how that shows up in partnerships,
which is why it's partners.
Then go to Mars and this is what lights you the fuck up.
Like start engaging in your Mars sign,
do the thing that that sign is telling you to do
and see your energies actually increase.
Go to your Jupiter, figure out where are my beliefs?
Like where am I meant to really study and expand in life?
And then go to your Saturn and say, what is that sign?
That's where I have to take responsibility.
Just start there.
The seven and research those things,
you're gonna start understanding yourself
through a different lens.
And it's not about memorizing all the different things
that you're gonna see online.
It's more so like, this is how I function.
Okay, let me honor that.
I tell clients, like, people are so scared of success.
And I'm like, it's in your chart.
Success is inevitable, stop being scared of it
and just live it.
So living your energy and your life will change.
And that's, I mean, I have research to back this.
So that's why it's so cool.
Because as a therapist, I get to work
through the trauma with my clients.
So they're not scared and they're not holding themselves back.
And we're designing their life based off of this
and the level of transformation that happens
is pretty incredible.
- Wow.
Yeah, I just have to, again,
talk about myself for one second here.
But it's like, 'cause my son and my Venus are in the 12th house.
And just now I'm coming to terms with like,
that's like a hidden house.
And that's unconscious house.
And like, trying to access from there.
So I guess what I'm trying to say for people,
if some of it is like cloudy or whatever,
or harder, there might be some parts
that are harder to access.
- Uh-huh, uh-huh.
- Yeah.
- Well, that reminds me of something
that I think you learned from Lauren,
but that I heard you say recently
is that the, when you have a sign that is,
or like a placement that is challenging for you,
looking to the opposite sign for what to do,
like what kind of sign?
of energy to bring in for yourself, it can be very powerful medicine.
Is that always true?
Yeah, if you are really struggling with overthinking, say your moons in Gemini and you're just like
only intellectualized your emotions and you just chat, chat, chat, you do need to lean into
Sagittarius and really sit with one thing and explore that one thing instead of bouncing around
to a bunch. It balances your energy and everything we want is homeostasis, right? We want balance.
So yes, if something is really struggling in your life, look to the opposite side.
I would also say if you're really struggling in that area, this is where the technical comes in.
It could be a sign that it's not comfortable in. There could be aspects to it, like other planets
challenging it, facing off with it. And so this is one thing where astrology starts to nashasha's
point, get layered and layered so you can understand the nuance of your behavior and why something's
resonate and some things don't. Yeah. Okay, so tell us about, because we're at the end here.
Yeah, tell us about decode. Is that your next program? Yeah, so I have a certification program
where I certify people within my own method. So it's a combination of you're going to learn all
the technical astrology things. But in addition of how do you use that information to then help
them process the programings and the traumas in their life, the shadow aspects of their chart
to get into the more empowered side because everything has a spectrum of energy. Every placement
might express in shadow or in empowered and 50 shades in between, right? So my method is how do
we get clients to be more free into that more empowered side of their chart so that they can keep,
you know, evolving throughout life. And so that's what my certification is all about. So I teach you
the astrology. I teach you parts work and then I teach you other semantics like EFT to pair
them all together to really help a client understand themselves on a deeper level.
And I would even say, I mean, maybe you don't want people that aren't in business, but it's so
helpful just on a personal growth level. It is. And I think I was always targeting people in general.
Like if you just want to learn astrology, but I have noticed that it is so complex that a lot of
people will fall off. There's like this level that people want the astrology as like maybe more
being a client of an astrologer, but really studying, there has to be this part of you that
desires because as you know, like it's complex. And so all the trainings I've ever been in by the
end of them only a few of us are standing. And I had a mentor be like, half we won't be here
at the end of the year. And that hasn't really been true though in your class. Yes. I mean, I think
there's a whole the way that I think I teach is different where a lot of classes it's study and
memorize. And people don't like that. They're like, I don't want to sit down and just memorize all
a shit, where I think with my class, it's more introspective. So people like it because they're learning
about themselves at the same time. Yeah. And also you are doing like real time like chart read,
like chart readings and stuff. So it's like coming to I honestly have never
come like had a class where I've been wanting to be their live every single time. This is truly
like I think the first time because I'm like, we're going to be doing thing. You're not just talking
at us like, you're going to be we're going to be interacting and you're like, so open to hearing
things and like to like to any question. So it's like all of your questions get answered. And
also I'm like obsessed with this now. So I mean, is that real? Is that that feels like maybe it's
that Jupiter and Scorpio. 100% of Jupiter because Scorpio rolls over the occult and then ninth house
rolls over the study of astrology from a study perspective. And the eighth house is the astrology
from an alchemization perspective. So you're really like using that Jupiter to the fullest extent here.
And yeah, so it's so fun. Well, yeah, I mean, I've complimented you up and down because it's all
true. I don't do this unless I mean it. And it's like, yeah, just really I feel like you've changed
my life warn like this really opened me up in such a huge way. I'm so grateful to have met you.
Oh my god. Thank you. I appreciate that so much. And like, I think that's why I do what I do is
that first chart reading I had it changed my life. Like you're saying, it really changed my life
on the way I look at myself. The defenses of like being one on one with a therapist and being like,
yeah, people please is so different than like hearing it through the lens of my chart. And I'm like,
oh, that's why I do it. Yeah. So that each student and clients who experience themselves in that way,
it really is just life changing. Yeah. I mean, I do understand like, I think before it never
metabolized for me because it was just an intellectual level. It was just like, I learned that like
this means this and you have to memorize it and like, okay, but there's something about like, yeah,
you really do have helped me to see how it like gets underneath like to the human experience and how
that is true. And it's just really fun to be able to learn. Like if you like learning this kind of
thing, which everyone who listens to this does, it's really just so helpful to understand astrology
like that. Yeah. Well, I know you've been with your husband like, you're like, oh, I understand his
Mars and Taurus. Like it's just a thing that you allow him to speak to be him. A lot of conversation
about Mars and Taurus and Mars and Venus. No, no, Mars and Mary, Mary, Mars and Mercury,
a lot of house conversation. Mars and Mercury both planet. Right. Yeah. This is another place I
start. My head starts to swim. Yeah. I'm working on it. Yeah. Yeah. But it is true. That is a big
thing in our house because he is very Taurus. He's very slow with methodical how he gets things
done very slow. And I'm very like, yeah, because Ares wants to go and Taurus is like, let's
it's why we have to go fast. Yeah. Yeah. I have often said nothing gets done here unless I'm the
one who who decides to do it. I love you. But then he does it and then he does it if I'm like,
we need to do this. And then he won't stop doing it. Yeah. Taurus is like, I gotta keep going.
I started this as the worker being. And then our other daughter is Mars and Cancer. So that is
slow. We're right. Very slow. She needs a lot around. Yeah. Yeah. See? That's the one with the Mars
Mars rule, though. She's Mars ruled and it's in cancer. Yes. And that is hard. It means that she
came down here to learn a big lesson around when to push and when to pull, especially in a patriarchal
society. I've noticed everyone who has Mars and Cancer, they they feel so much shame. They feel
so much and they need a rest. And so they're really year to learn that and to slow down because
Mars is the planet of action. And it's in cancer and nurturing and slowing down and self-care.
So that's actually how they get motivation is the more they rest is the more motivation they get.
Oh wow. It's a pretty mine thing. Yeah. That's fascinating. Our other child is in Capricorn,
which is good. Which is the exact job is that actually. So that's interesting to think about
because Capricorn can that's exalted. So Mars is like, yeah, I'm gonna go work all day. And so
it actually kind of needs to learn not to overdo and to slow down a little bit. So that's interesting.
Yeah, there's a lot of I feel like even though torsion areas aren't opposites, it feels like
we feel like opposites in that way. Because they're next to each other, they have no similarities.
So that is why you're like, I don't understand you at all. There's no similarities.
All right. Thank you so much Lauren. Oh, can people find you? Yeah, so yeah. Yeah, you can find me
on theloonerchild.com. That's where all my offerings are. If you want to learn or just want to be a client
and then my Instagram is the Lunar Child Institute. Because I am scaling to have more courses
than just my certification. Nice. Yeah. Which by the way, Natasha, I'm opening to other practitioners
if you want to teach psychic abilities. Oh, I'd love that. I didn't even think about that. I'm just
like, yeah. Wait, I was going to ask, oh, when does decode start? August 27th. Okay. All right. Thank you.
All right. Such a great interview. Yeah. Okay. Well, this week I am picking from a fun new deck
from my former co-host, Tess Whitehurst. And the art is by Anna. Oh, I don't know if I'm going to say
it's right. Nova, Nova, NOVAS. And it is the esoteric astrology oracle. So I knew I had to get,
I have so many of Tess's decks and I knew I had to get this one. So the card I picked was Taurus.
I'm just going to, it's pretty long. So I'm just going to read a little bit. And this is
the card for the week in case I just realized I just went right into that. Or I guess we could say
the card for the next couple of weeks, which because we are here every other week.
Potential.
eventually. Yes. Um, although, did we just release one last week? We did. Sorry, we,
you know what, we're not consistent, but we are, um, devoted, yeah, and great. We're
devoted, just not in a like, oh, I'm going to set my time to this type of way. No, definitely
not. Please do not set any clocks to our release schedule. Yeah. That wouldn't, you'd
be, it would be very frustrating, but, um, we will likely be back here in two weeks. This
one was just a little extra fasties. Yeah. Because I wanted to give people a chance to sign
up for my gossip. Exactly. Okay. So this says, Taurus, let divinity shine through, organize
your schedule and surroundings, build harmonious structures and find the luxury of efficiency
and the elegance of balance. So Taurus, energy really is about really enjoying the, being
in a physical body and also taking care of your resources like your bank account, like
your food, light, all of that so that you can enjoy these physical elements of life in
a, um, you know, in a way that serves you. This says lovingly established positive
habits and systems to support your body, your home, your finances and every aspect of
your physical wellness, establish a strong base of support for your physical well-being
over time. Um, the material world is not separate from the realm of spirit and there is magic
to be found even in the most mundane moment or chore. Mindful grounded presence brings
forth a transcendent glow. So I'm not going to read, I'll read one more thing. Actually
consistently caring for yourself in these simple but powerful ways will kindle a radiant
and sustainable glow of confidence, comfort and calm. Patiently and painstakingly attend
to the structures and habits that populate your physical existence and the beautiful light
of infinity will shine through. So yeah, taking care of yours, actually, oh my god, it relates
to what you said, like you are wanting to create routines in a loving caring way for yourself.
Yeah, yeah. Exactly with the system. Yeah, that's very crazy.
All right, everybody, if you haven't, I guess I have one, two more things to say, which is one,
if you haven't already rated and reviewed this or reviewed, we'd love to have you do that.
Helps people find us. You can also find me on my sub-stack, Natasha, no. So yeah, Natasha
11ger.substack.com. I'd love to have you there. The paid version is a lot of fun.
