Episode 5: Explosive Diarrhoea, Guatemela & Other Headlines

The transcription features a lively podcast episode where hosts Grayson and Verity engage in casual banter about their show's surprising global reach, specifically mentioning listeners in Guatemala. They introduce a new interactive segment called "Secret Sound," where a mystery sound is played for audience guessing. The conversation shifts to pop culture, critiquing the "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story" series for leaning into unsubstantiated gay conspiracy theories about the brothers, which they clarify were fabricated by prosecutors. They also discuss celebrity behavior, criticizing figures like Hudson Williams and Chappell Roan for public outbursts, arguing that fame comes with responsibilities and that celebrities who pursue attention should not complain about its downsides. The hosts touch on Ariana Grande's possible reconnection with ex-boyfriend Ricky, based on paparazzi photos, though they remain speculative. Throughout, they emphasize the importance of balancing fame with gratitude, mocking entitled attitudes. The episode blends humor, cultural commentary, and listener engagement, reflecting the hosts' candid and unfiltered style as they navigate topics from geography to celebrity scandals.

I am great Have you seen what we posted on Instagram last night? I did see what we posted on Instagram last night Who the hell is listening to us in Guatemala? Guatemala, what other countries were in there that were a bit rogue? Guatemala Austria Finland Germany Germany, at least Germany I get Yeah, I understand Anything this side of our hemisphere wasn't a shock to me Like the Thailand's and the Australia New Zealand And it goes like Southeast Asian For those countries it wasn't much of a shock? Correct, I want to know though who the hell in Guatemala is listening to our show And if you are in Guatemala currently listening to the show please DM us I want to interview you I want you to come on the pod and tell us how you came across this show Yeah, really 62 Guatemala is a country in what is listed as Central America Yes What's Central America? Central America is like just south of Mexico So Oh, it's calling that Caribbean coast - Yeah, we're in all four. - You got South America, and all the islands in the middle, the islands in the middle. - Yeah. - Yeah, okay, got yeah, yeah. But then, so that means makes Coast technically North America, right? Technically, it's the continent of North America. - I don't know. - We'd ask Harry for workforce space, but Google this, but he's never fucking here. - That's why I'm Googling it right now. - I've been here, I've been here. - I'm doing his job. - I can hear my Jade Bangal on the table. - So Variety's got this new Jade Bangal that we got her from China, and it's gorgeous and it's lovely. But everywhere she goes, it's like a cat bell. Can you jingle it for me? - I need it, something like. - Can you jingle it like on the mic? - Can I do it on the mic? - Oh! (laughing) - Everywhere you go, it's like a little cat bell. It's a steric call. - You can hear me everywhere I am. - I can hear you jingling, I will never lose you. It's fucking awesome. - Never lose me again. - Okay, Guatemala. Sorry, we're doing it here. - We're doing Guatemala. - Geography with very little doll. - Okay, yeah, so it's snuggled right in between Mexico and Honduras and El Salvador. - Yes, and Panama, it's kinda near Panama. - And then, it's my ride on the map. So maybe Guatemala's left to its east. To its east is Jamaica and Cuba and the Caribbean sea. - Correct, that's really fun. - For those of you that didn't see, 'cause you can't see, 'cause this is an audio show. Verity just put her hands up. Like, do you know what I'm doing? - The two of her left her doing it. - You know what I'm doing? - Her left and right. - On the front of the map. - You know, we were in the car the other day, and you did that, you went, you got up to the lights and you did that. And a good friend of mine Curtis does the same thing. He goes, oh, you need to go left here. - That way. - Yeah. - It's disorientating, not having the, the L visual is really disorientating for me, 'cause I'm like, which way is left? 'Cause I'm always within the clouds. - But you know, I do something similar that's kinda like, I feel a bit (beep) every time I do this is when I do my time's tables, I'll be like, oh, 5, 10, 15, 20, 20. - Do you know the trick for times table, the 9's times tables? - No. - But I feel like you're gonna tell me. - I don't even remember it. (laughing) - I remember there was like, you were hoping that I would know it, so I just made it to everybody. - I'm gonna guess it. It's like, for those who can't see, because none of you can see, I've got 10 digits. - And thank God you can't see, 'cause I look like I've full it up. - We've just come out of bed. - In the morning. - 10 digits in front of me. Let's say it's two times nine. I'm pretty sure I put the, I've put no, I can't explain it. (laughing) - You can't even explain it. - I don't want to, two times nine is, (laughing) - Two times nine is 18. - Five, six, seven, eight. Yeah, look, I did it, 18. So you put down, so it's like, this is correct for you. Two times nine, 18. You've got one and eight. Three times nine, 27. See? - They taught me that in special ed. - I'm not joking. (laughing) - They taught me in special ed growing up. - So does that mean, because you went to special ed? - I was in special ed like my whole life. - Yeah, so because you were in special ed and I have been diagnosed with ADHD. Does that mean that we can both say? (beep) - Yeah, I'm pretty sure we can say. - You know what, I'll say it. - I'll say it. (beep) (laughing) - So Guadama. (laughing) - So Guadama. - Speaking of Guadama, explosive diarrhea. - Did you see the explosive diarrhea outbreak that is striking down taco bells everywhere in the United States? - No, I didn't, but I feel like we're gonna find out about this. - But I wanna hear a little bit. - Is an explosive diarrhea outbreak that is tearing it's way through the United States via taco bell chains and the FDA of the United States has had to investigate the lettuce supply. - Oh, that's gross. - Here's the headline. Explosive diarrhea outbreak linked to this popular salad bar sent to Taco Bell. - Oh, yeah. - That's gross. - Salad bar at Taco Bell. - That is gross. - Let me do a quick skim, doing a quick skim, health officials of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services suspected lettuce and salad green caused the outbreak, but didn't know what exact product was. - And the thing is, - And the thing is with a chain-like taco bell, which is all over the United States, it's thousands of restaurants. If this is all coming from the same place, that is millions of people that are gonna be affected by this. Can you imagine millions of people all having explosive diarrhea at the same time? (laughing) That's worth it a nuclear weapon. - Absolutely hilarious. That's so funny. - That is insane. - Now, we have looked at who is listening to our show and where you're listening from. And there's 62,500 of you all over the world that have been either tuning in, viewing our content. And we are so taken aback by that. - It's a big number. - It's a big number for our first four weeks on the air. - It's a big number and that number is inclusive and cumbersome of our listeners total through all four episodes from start to finish, our engagement, our social media engagement, the views, the likes, everything all combined. We've a vast audience that is viewing us at that number. - And it's crazy. - One day we'll reach the followers. One day we'll have 62k followers. But for now we have 62k silent. - Listeners, viewers, fans, - What everyone's saying. - How much of that do you think was, 'cause of how much breast is in the promo? - I think a good 80%. - Yeah. - 80% - Shout out Dr. Marosh Nick. - Yeah, shout out to Verities Tits. - Bondi and double bay. - All of the brains, Verities the Booms. - Yes, exactly. The brains and the silicone. - Correct. - Yeah. - Exactly. - Well, we've got a jam pack show today and we've got a new segment. We're doing something that I've always wanted to do. - We're gonna have to create a stinger for it. - I know, we need to create a little stinger for it. - We're gonna go, shh, shh, shh, shh. So the new segment that we're gonna do is something that I have been wanting to do since we came up with the idea for this podcast. And it is something a little bit more traditional but we're gonna do a secret sound, shh, shh, shh. A secret sound. So we are gonna play a sound for you later on in the show and you guys, our listeners, have to guess what that sound is. - I'll be guessing along with you guys. - Correct, Verities has no idea. - Verities I don't know what the secret sound is. And I think once we're done with this sound, I'll do the next sound. - And I'm in the dark. - And you're guessing along with the listeners. - Exactly. - Obviously I will not win the cash prize. - You're not, you're legally not allowed to win the cash prize. But I will be guessing along with you every episode as well. And I did get a sneak peek of it. I have no fucking clue what it could be. - Alrighty, so we are gonna do the secret sound. We're gonna announce that later in the show and run through the rules and how that works. But yeah, we got a jam pack show. I reckon we started right now. - Yeah, let's do it. - Let's do it. - Let's do it. - All right, we're gonna jump into the culture catch up. It's coming up next here on HR's "Worse Nightmare". We are our Sydney's naughtiest podcast. We'll see you in a bit. (upbeat music) - HR's "Worse Nightmare". HR's "Worse Nightmare". (upbeat music) - The culture catch up. - The culture catch up. (upbeat music) - All right, it's HR's "Worse Nightmare". You're on the air. It's Grayson and Verdi here. We're gonna do the culture catch up. - What is going on in culture today? I'm gonna start with "Headed Rivalry". - Ooh. - We're all across "Headed Rivalry". - We should all be across "Headed Rivalry". Right now, what's the "Wasion 1s" name again? Hudson. - Yeah. - Two things to talk about here. - Hot. - Yeah, hot, hot, hot. I'm kinda over it though. I hate, there's always, no one will ever, no one. No one. No male duo will ever beat "Coupa Koch" and Nicholas Shavers, for me, as the Menendez twins. Remember when that show came up? - Oh. - I will die on the hill that is "Coupa Koch" and "Nicholas Shavers". - That was great. - Perfection, perfection, perfection. And, finally enough, they are playing two heterosexual brothers and one of them is gay. - Yeah. - The two straight dudes are playing the two gay dudes. - Yeah. - But from "Memory the Menendez Brothers", that whole thing was very gay. - No, no. - There was a lot of gay shit. - No, no. - But what's the gay shit happening? - No, that was used to-- - Why are they like to fucking each other's name? - No, that was used to make them look really bad and caught. 'Cause they were abused. - So that wasn't actually happening? - No, they were abused horribly, which is what led to the actions they did. And when, you know, that happens from such a young age, they were extraordinarily close with one another. - Right. - And extraordinarily like, close and like emotional and sensitive with one another. But that's because of how they grew up together being abused. - So there was no like incestuous-- - No, (beep) - No, no, no, no, no. - All that was happening. - There was rumors back when they were in court that that was happening because, you know, you know how court works. - Yeah. - People, the defendants, the opposition or whatever the fuck you call them, the prosecutors. - I thought you were gonna say, the prostitutes. - The prostitutes. No, the prosecutors will find any way to make someone look nuts bad. It's just courted as just defamation is like slander cases. Like you just keep throwing shit at each other to make you look worse. And so one of the things they threw out there was-- - Been there. - One of the things they threw out there was that they were both secretly gay because they were being assaulted by their father. - Right. - And that was their fault and they were secretly gay and they were secretly gay for each other. And it's really sad actually. - Because I only watched snippets of that. And I feel like any of them watched that whole thing from beginning to end. - The show. - Yeah, the show. - We need to watch the document. The show is really fun as just a show in general. But you need to watch the documentary because one thing I will say, Ryan Murphy, you don't-- (beep) He kind of really played into the gay stuff so much that it kind of-- - Like too much so? - It's too much to the point where it kind of really implies that that was the truth. - Right. - And it was not the truth. And if you watch the documentaries, everything, it'll-- if there's so many documentaries on it and everything, all their lawyers are still alive. Their whole like defendant team is still alive. And they also-- that is 100% not true. And there was a bit of a controversy with the show being like, the show shows a lot of that gay-- the gay conspiracy theories. But the show does a really bad job of telling the audience that these were just theories. - I love the media. - Gay conspiracy theories. - Gay conspiracy. It's a gay conspiracy. - So he did rivalry. - He did rivalry. I'm so sorry. I got distracted. Nicholas Sharvers. Cooper Koch, I love you forever. You guys are fabulous. I don't know why they haven't been in anything since. But if they can get shuttles on another TV show together, that would be verb. If they want to call up the pod and get shuttles over to zoom, we'll open it out as well. - They'd be fab. But also fabulous actors, not just degrading them to their six packs, but great six packs. Hudson Williams, two things about him. One, he was caught kissing some girl in the Greek ocean at the beach. - Yep. As we all do. - Every gay guy is probably really devastated right now, even though-- 'cause you know-- - Which one was he? - The Russian? - Wasion. - Wasion. Wasion. But also, did you see that? - Video of him like, flippin' his shit on TikTok. - The paparazzi. - The paparazzi in Paris or something. And everyone was saying he's like, he's chapel-roaning, he's becoming the next chapel-roan. - Yeah. - And all that. - It was really embarrassing. - Yeah. - I'm not sure if you watched the whole thing, but they asked him to sign a photo of himself, 'cause you know, they resell those photos. - Yeah. - And he like, flips out, and he's like, I'm not reselling. I'm not signing. And I was like, I need to get down a ladder and try to light the photo on fire. And it fails miserably. - Oh. - It fails miserably. And he's standing like, trying to light this photo on fire. - That's so embarrassing. - And it was a little torch gun, right? - Like with a little fucking like, zapo. - Zapo, zapo, zapo, whatever the fuck they're called. And he's trying to light it and it's just not taking a place. - But here's what I think. And this is the same with chapel-roan. It's the same with him and a lot of these other celebrities that are actually becoming so fucking rude on the red carpet, to paparazzi, to fans as well. Like, and you need to find a balance between. - That's what I was about to say. - There's a balance. There's a medium ground. - I feel like celebrities used to have a balance of like, embrace it as part of the job for the good and the bad that it is. I get to meet all these people who I, who love me. And my, what I'm putting out there has like affected and changed their lives for the better. And they love doing for it. And then also, yes, do I get followed by crazy people, paparazzi? Yeah, it's like the good and the bad. But it really is nowadays. Like, you just even, some celebrities, you look at them and they want to punch you in the face. - Yeah, just by looking at that. - They become the crazy people. And I think the way I genuinely believe this, which is a lot of people say, well, they didn't choose that life. I'm like, well, they kind of did. - Well, we sat in front of these mics with the goal that people will listen and recognize us and care about what we're saying and care about supporting and following us. That is why we started this. Could we could have done this without. We could sit here across from each other, talk into microphones and not post it for fun. But we chose to do this because we want people to engage, to look, to follow, to support, to like, to listen. - Exactly. - Then imagine us getting all that. And then. - And then being like, "Oh, I should not want to deal with you." - And then going, "Fuck off!" I'm entitled to my privacy. - Exactly. - Well, it's like, okay, well, - And that's the thing. - And you go in your dish. You go in your dish and for a global TV show that's going to be syndicated on a network, it becomes famous and then you've got the shits or people because they're your fan. It's embarrassing. Suck it up. You chose that. - It's like Chapel Rowan going, "I-Fuck the Grammys. I don't care about the Grammys. She don't want a Grammy. You know you have to submit yourself, right?" - Yeah. - Exactly. - You know you have to submit yourself for that. - They don't choose to submit you. You and your team submit yourself for the Grammy. - Exactly. - So you're sitting there like, "Fuck the Grammys. "meh meh meh meh" I'm a ******* You fucking paint your clown makeup on and you go get your Grammy like what? Don't get me wrong, I understand like being a celebrity is tough is tough and it's fucking weird Peep like your life changes forever and no one human should be that well known by a bunch of strangers like that's in human but It's what happens and is there a way to fix it? Probably not nope. There's no way to fix it the only way to fix it Delete all your music and never leave the house again or the only way to fix it is never become famous in the first place Yep, but you don't sign yourself up for a reality TV show or a reality talent show or a contestant show or put your music out there Or your podcast or your acting or your auditions You don't do that in the hopes that no one pays attention to you and no one cares and no one notices exactly You don't do it and that's my thing is if you are going to get the shits with everybody and be an absolute raging fucking For the fuck to people in public on the red carpet at events suck it up Show this exactly exactly and if you're acting like an absolute I feel like you look like an absolute clown. I feel more bad for the celebrities or the famous people that didn't choose it Like the people who are really famous memes and their lives are affected forever Yeah, like someone filmed them doing something stupid and they became a meme and now everyone recognized like all the ones from vines Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, speaking of so that was Hudson whatever his name is speaking of men. Iron agranda has new men. I believe I saw the paparazzi shots Who is it? Her happy for her Is is he hot? I try not to speak it. I try not to speak ill will of female celebrities in their dating lives unless it's Taylor Swift And I would never speak ill will of the most perfect woman to have a lot of the earth are in a grand day But good for her I'm so glad she left Buck to eat and say it are not the vibe. No, I'm not the vibe. What's the vibe? What's this guy's deal? Who is he? What does he do? It's an ex of her? It's an ex of hers. You know Ricky wrote some songs about Ricky Yeah, you know I listen and laugh. Wait is it him? It's Ricky. She's a reconnected with Ricky the headline reads the messy way Iron agranda reconnected with ex Ricky Oliveran's I think as her relationship with Ethan play that was ending and they've been caught out together We don't know they could just be friends like she could have just reconnected like she plays wrote some songs about Ricky And she listens and laughs. So maybe she thought let me call Do we really think that that's happening? I don't know. I'm not here to judge our inner contact. No, we're not judging her. We're speculating. I'm not I'm not I'm here to only speculate and I speculate that she Their friends is just their friends that wrap their arms around each other in the paparazzi photos Well, I got you there tonight Anyway, I'm just giving it a quick scan. Sorry. Yeah, it says you likely heard by now that pop star has rekindled things with her ex boyfriend Lucky, Oliveras who are okay. Yeah, they dated in 2015. Oh Wow, so like ten years ago. He was a backup dancer The fallen backup dancer has been spotted at several times Okay, and he's been showing up to a lot of the nights on her eternal sunshine to her. He's been there for nights and they've been seen Out and about they've been seen in New York City walking her dog So I don't know. I hope you know what I just really really hope that Ariana Grande is not our generations Jen Anderson In what way? Well, you know her Jen and I said like never got to it. She never felt like you know how you ask like people like our mums age Like oh, they're like I just wish Jen found love Because she had Brad and then Brad left her for Angelina. Oh, Jen and for Aniston Aniston. Yeah, but you said Anderson. Oh, did I say Anderson? He said Jen Anderson Jen Anderson, I'm like, I'm like, you need a hell Jen Anderson. That sounds like the mug down the road that works the tuck shop Yeah, oh my god. Oh, yeah, Jen Anderson. Yeah, Jennifer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Anniston. Anniston. An An IST O N Aniston Jenna I'm gonna call it Jenna Jenna Jen a I'm gonna quickly look in her up Jen see I still I still think that Jen Jen Anderson, okay, so I get back together at some point Well, so I just hope I run a grand idea. not become our generations Jen Jen I'm just gonna say Jen I clearly suck at her last time Jen Aniston Aniston Aniston because she never really found love and that's kind of like her thing is like people like I hope she finds love but she never did and I really don't want that for my sweet angel Ariana Grande because she is perfect she's perfect to me everyone's just a hater um but also let's look at jumping back a story the difference of Ariana Grande dealing with paparazzi versus someone like he's right or those are someone like gay Asian guy or chaperone yeah or gay Asian guy and lesbian clown yeah yeah like look at the difference yeah one is done with humility one is done with sheer bigger anger don't get me wrong as well there are times where you definitely should be done with it should be done with anger oh absolutely that crazy Australian guy jumped her at Singapore event 100% she's not strong enough to clock him in the face but if that was me I'd boom yeah oh and an elbow to the nose yeah punch to the throat straight away but you're on the red carpet and people are going hey turn around turn around turn around turn around turn around turn around turn up to an event that has a red carpet because it's the premiere of something and you put on your clown outfit and you've walked the red carpet I'll be like you and the paparazzi going turn around turn around you don't get to turn around and be a fucking bitch you shut up you shut like are you kidding me that's craziness it's crazy I saw that and I went oh Jesus I know she's just crazy she's just crazy this is what happens when the clowns leave the circus yeah so who knows what's gonna go on there I did have one more story but where is it the Kardashians grandmother has passed away I know I saw MJ what do you call a grandmother not a matriarch a matriarch is a mother or is it a matriarch I don't know a legend an icon we'll go with that make sure I'm gonna say matriarch squared MJ from the Kardashians has passed away sadly and that's really sad because if you think about it if she didn't get birth the Chris Chris wouldn't have given birth to Kim Kylie Courtney Chloe exactly started that whole whole generation exactly and that's really sad I'm a lot of them have come out and like paid tribute to MJ she was really fabulous she was fabulous she was like a really fabulous grandmother and also just a really fabulous character on the show and I really think that something will be missing from the show because watching her and Chris get up to know good on the show is always really good yeah they kind of sometimes MJ and Chris sometimes more interesting they have their own little more interesting than the girls they have their own vibe and their own kind of story 100% yeah they're a bit more interesting but anything else no that's everything and on that note we've probably waffled on and on about things that no one really cares about and that wraps up the culture catch up wonderful all right well the culture catch up with Verity now coming up next we're gonna do hot take hotline hot take hotline it's back it's back we haven't done it in a couple episodes and I even got a DM saying can you do it again because I really love the hot take yeah people are really enjoying that segment I've got a really good hot take you don't know what it is I don't know what yours is but we're gonna do I don't know what mine is but you know what let's hope I think I'm yeah all right guys we're gonna do it next stick around thinking about a hair transplant worst nightmare now we're bringing it back hot take hotline by popular demand by popular popular demand now I'm going to kick this one off yeah my hot take is if you are going away on a holiday or if you're going away for four weeks or six weeks you don't get to have a going away party or a going away dinner or have your friends take it to the airport and they're all cry and I'm sick of it in front of the Sydney song like it's not what you live it's not like it's insane now I don't know people might disagree with me on this and if you disagree with me on this I will fight you to the death in my DMs message me because I have been added to two separate group chats recently of people being like oh I'm having a way for Euro summer going away for Euro summer I'm having a going away dinner and I'm like you're gone for a month you're gone for four weeks not moving you go on for two months like like like fuck off if you are moving to the other side of the world and you know what dare I say even if you're going on exchange that's fine you're going away for nine months or totally valid I'll go do you going away if you're going away on an exchange for uni or school or something or a work or a cultural exchange some shit like that you're usually gone for at least more than four five months yeah nine months nine to ten sometimes a year that's more than valid to have a going away exactly but to to go on holiday holiday you go in a fucking sale Croatia on a little kentiki tour doing a $299 dollar fucking tour from flight center I will say though to be devil's advocate not I completely agree with you going on having a going away completely also I do understand like you know you're going away on a holiday for four or five weeks like maybe like messaging your friends let's go for a drink before I leave oh but that's different that is different you're not making a group chat you don't see that are going away right like no that's just oh I'm gone for four weeks let's all grab dinner you're like oh I'm going away for four or five weeks like let's do something before I go I'm talking about making a group chat with 20 people my going away putting on Instagram my going away party my going away party or your friends oh my god bye and then all your friends take you to the airport you're there with tears you're waving on the Instagram story you're doing a boom around you you're fucking boomering with your passport and you're boarding pass out the front of the city departure sign yeah me it's like she'll be back in four weeks of the bunch of stories about Italian dick like it's fine like it's totally fine so when you go to Brazil I'm going to drop you at the departure's rank I'm like see you bitch he's not even going to park he's going to pull up and just kick me to the curb and learn and we'll be waiting there for me exactly like you know that's I'm not coming in yeah I'm not paying not parking 73 you know what I don't need you to come in I don't need you to come in as well like why do I need a big hoopla for a holiday I'm gone for a month who cares exactly I don't need you to come in and help me check in I know how to fucking check in at an airport I can go and check in and I'm gonna go sit down in the food quarter of the lounge I'm not even kidding you I got added to a group chat the other day and I had 30 people at it and it was for my going away party and I put a message in being like oh my god I didn't realize you were moving like no no I'm not moving I'm just going to year it for four weeks and I put you being for real like actually you said that you said I didn't realize you were moving and they said no I'm not moving I'm going to you I'm going to you four weeks and you know what I said I'm not coming I won't be coming and I and I left the group I'm not coming I left the group chat you left the group I left the group chat I was like I'm and I got a message from them being like oh hey why did you leave the group chat I said because I'm not coming to you going away for a holiday for your holiday it's not happening I'm not doing it that's like that's like yeah it's like why am I gonna go on a go I'm like going to attend a going away drinks or something with you when we're sending you off to go sit on the fucking sand of Borabora for four weeks not fucking happening it's not it's it's bullshit I am absolutely not and the people that buy into it being like oh my god you're gone from you've gone for four weeks do you know how much time elapses that I don't see some of my friends could be six months well you and we're in the same city famously you're an international queen so you got friends all over the globe she missed third culture kid yes your friends all over the globe and you haven't seen those friends like two years three years and then you see them for a bit and then you send them off again and you know even when James was here when he was visiting I didn't take him into the fucking you dropped your party I dropped off the departure reg went see a bit while he was trashed while he was five and he was still drunk he was trashed as fuck five a.m. drop him to the curb I literally went checking in yourself and went back to bed I literally went see a bitch I'm all dropped him went home went back to sleep yeah and what a good friend you are for even doing that exactly yeah because we're not far from the port no we're not far from the port no so that's my hot take that's your hot as a fabulous hot take I think it's great right I think it's a bit of and as well like I think the reason people do that is like I don't know is it like like My my my cookies leave me for a month. Yeah, like oh my god. It's so sad like so sad to see you go What will I do without you? They will be back in four weeks? You know what I'm gonna do without I'm gonna stay in my room and relax because when that bitch gets back probably gonna drink like a mother. Yeah, exactly so like Hello, hello, you know, I'm not interested in going to a going away Of someone or I'm not interested in going to a going away of a friend who's leaving for four weeks. I am interested though In going out and getting absolutely fuck I'd with them when they get back because they jet lag does fuck yeah And so we go out we stay up all night. We get yeah, I don't want to go back. Let's get back You just go back from your holiday. Let's go out for drinks. Let's go. Let's go to dinner I want to hear all about your trip and then we get all about Italy US or wherever the fuck you went But if you're going away and you're leaving I saw I saw the other day I've seen it twice in the last week where They've gone to the airport with a group of friends and they've posted a And I'm like and you look at it going oh my god. They must be moving For they must be leaving forever. Oh, you don't even think they're going away. Oh, why are they leaving and then I signed out They're going on a two thousand two days later posting on a yacht. No, no not even on a yacht Cut to them on their two thousand nine hundred and ninety nine dollar group package can teaky to a bus tour through Europe By the way, you will never see me dead on a bus tour through Europe or in a hostel I want to be on a bus with strangers stopping at everything I don't want to look at exactly for them to take photos And I also do not want to be in a bunk bed in a room. We're not we don't we don't do host I remember my first time ever staying in a hostel was on school camp Mm-hmm. We went to Sydney actually obviously we talked about this on a one we went to Sydney We did talk about this on a one. Yeah, did I tell this hostel story already? No, but tell it again Oh, just about my first time seeing a hostel. Yeah, no idea what the fuck a hostel was I remember saying to my mom like oh, we're staying in a youth hostel and she's like oh, I don't know what that means and she was like Um, it's like it's a cheap accommodation where everyone like sleeps together and so I thought oh, okay, so it's kind Who snow over I thought to myself. Oh, okay, so like you book a room in a hostel with like a group of friends And you all have the one room in your share like siblings or like a sleeper like that sounds okay And then I mom explained to me no you share it with strangers and I was like she was like you won't because you're a school She was like but usually you book a bed in a hostel and you share the giant room and bathroom with strangers I was under the impression it was kind of like a hotel room but for groups of people. Yeah, and I remember we get there I walk into the hostel room and there's like a row of five metal bunk beds, and I went ab Absolutely Not you know that photo of Hillary Clinton walking into like that horrible studio apartment She's like yeah, and she's like terrified. Yeah, that was me that was me and I went absolutely not and I was like get me out of here ASAP please I could not do it. I was like no way no way. It was a fun Trip other than the hostel, but I found the hostel really challenging that was a really challenging host But that's like where you and I are on the same page about this is we don't stay in places that are shit So you know the story about when I went to Croatia and we checked into that Oh my god horrific Airbnb and I looked around I went ain't no fucking way. I'm staying here So I left all my friends I drove down the road to the Sheraton and I checked in don't get me wrong I'm not a crazy person in the sense that I know I am I know you are But I'm not a crazy person in the sense that if worse comes to worst and we're in a really last minute emergency Pinge and I have to stay at the holiday in at least I have a normal bed. Yeah, do I want to be at the holiday in no But at least I have a normal bed if that's like a really like let's say we were on a group trip something gets canceled We need to stay one night in a this or that like a holiday in or a fucking You had to say I just once didn't you and it was terrifying well Do you remember over COVID when there was the hotel quarantine and everything right? You were in a mess. No, I stayed in Australia because I was like I don't want to travel overseas and then be stuck in Hotel quarantine when I come back and the only reason I didn't want to do that is because in Australia you could not choose the hotel They assigned a hotel to you. Yeah, so can you imagine if I landed back in Australia? And that hotel quarantine bus rocked up at the front of the fucking Ibus I Would have thrown a medical episode in the lobby to be sent to hospital instead. I'd rather be in a hospital Then in the Ibus in fucking hay market. Yeah, I Would have like flapped around and thrown a full medical episode on the floor of the lobby. Yeah, be sent out. Yeah, not happening But like I said like I said, I'm not a crazy person like if There is some horrible unforeseeable circumstance or active God where I have to be for a night in a holiday in our in Ibus I'm okay with that. I draw the line at that. I'm not doing anything worse than that, but I'm also like I'm not a crazy person. I understand that whilst I might enjoy You know, some people go on a holiday and part of their holiday is having a nice hotel they enjoy and other people Just want somewhere to sleep because they're not gonna be in the hotel. They don't care Going on a group holiday. I'm more than okay to compromise on like an average three star hotel I'm more than okay if it's a group holiday because I understand everyone's financials are different everyone's situation is different We all want to go overseas and have fun. I'm more than happy to compromise But that's why you only do those things with what's what that saying you mum has People like us or PLU PLU people like us. So I go with PLUs. So I know PLUs because I don't want to stay in a fuck off hostel No exactly like when you and I do our Euro summer when we do hate charge worse nightmare Euro summer which will be definitely happening next summer Best belief best believe we are staying in the four seasons. We're staying in the Rosewood. Mm-hmm We're not staying in London number one international hostel in Super hot dog rocket cowboy ship hostile although when we do hate charge worse nightmare United States to a yeah like when we do that after Euro summer You know how the United States has all those really terrible like scary themed hotels Oh, I only stay in them. I don't want luxury. I'll win episode. I want a thing I'm not staying the night. No, I want to stay the night where they have like a jungle scape painted on the roof And like a guy in the corner one night. I'll give you one night. Okay. I'm gonna find the most goofiest one Like a circus themed one or something. Oh my like the dodgy one like it's in Detroit. Yeah Like a dodgy one, but I want to find one that's got like a wack ass thing like a wack ass thing I want to find one like that you walk in and like the lobby is a rainforest for the wall. It's like rainforest Yeah, I want to find something like that one a hundred percent like that's hilarious. All right. What's your hot tape? My heart take is I'm over people who are busy. Oh I promise you're not busy. You definitely have free time. You're not you are not worked to the bone 2477 days a week you have days off. I know your IDOs I know what you get up to on those IDOs stop telling me you're busy and fucking find a time that we can get together and catch up I'm so over it. I'm so over people flexing that be about being busy like that some kind of flex Oh my god. I just worked 18 hours. I literally just did the craziest double shifts And I'm so fucking tired and burnt out, but like you know what the money's worth it and it's like so far from Fabulous. I don't care like I don't care. Why is that a flex? Why is working so much and being busy and being burnt out a flex? I'd argue that it's a flex to not have to be that way like Chris so well. I'm so well slept I'm so relaxed. I've had a great day. I haven't done anything in two days. That's more of a flex I'm still I'm V but like I'm so over like trying to catch up with people and like you know, yeah, I'm busy that I'm booked that day. I'm busy that day or no. What are you doing? What are you doing? I know you work four days a week And you have three days off. I know your IDOs, but how are you booked every single fucking day off with something else? I'm busy with this. I'm busy with that and I hate people as well who will like have one thing on in the morning and that's their whole day Like you can't God forbid they do something with you after that. I can't catch up because I got a doctor's appointment I can't catch up because I have the dentist at 8 30 in the morning. What are you doing after it? Nothing but like you know like just I'm busy. I really need a lot of it. I'm gonna run errands. I'm busy. I got a decompress from the dentist like you don't have time to just fucking like catch up Quickly like you like like so okay, so you've got what the dentist at 8 30 and you want to run some errands because you're so fucking busy after the dentist All right, well, let's go to dinner at 7 You've got nowhere to be tomorrow. It was like I had this really with someone who said oh, I'm just so busy this week You know, I work 9 to 5 and I just looked at the moment. I ran six companies six And I can still make the time to catch up for half an hour coffee Exactly. Oh always yeah always if I can do that You and you 9 to 5 can easily find a time to catch up for a coffee. I'm always trying if anything I'm always trying to find like every time every week that rolls around I'm always trying to find someone to do something within my free time Because I want to see people. I'm a social butterfly. I want to see people I want to do things like I'm always trying to find a way to fit my friends and my loved ones and my family and all that kind of So those kinds of things I'm always trying to find a way to fit them into my time off whether it's a morning before work Whether it's morning off a night after work. It's my days off. It's my this. It's my that. It's my whatever I'm always trying to I'm always trying to do something with people. I just hate people that are busy bitches You're not busy or people that no one's really that busy and I think that segues into people that romanticize burnout. Yeah like oh you know I pulled a fucking 72 hour week and like I did 18 hours it's like it's very peak me it's very look at me look at me look at me I'm like I actually it's very like a firm me a firm me I'm doing the right thing what I actually think the opposite I think if you're pulling a 72 hour week and you've done an 18 hour day it makes me go I don't want to be like you I do not want to be like I don't want to I don't want to feel the way you think because you're managing your time perfectly yeah super poorly yeah managing your time terribly but that's my hot take I hate this is a hot take everything is I can't even debate you on that because I'm on your side I hate busy people I remember once I mean you know that just kind of goes in this hot take kind of just also segways into just bad excuses for things I'm not joking I remember once growing up I had someone literally used I can't I'm washing my hair I'm washing my cat no for a wash my pussy washing my hair I can't talk on face time right now but I'll call you later tonight can't talk later tonight I'm facing I'm washing my hair do you know when the washing of the hair will commence like you don't have time before I didn't realize it's a whole ceremony hmm are you being for real the thing is yeah I think they are I think they are I think they are being real it's either you're giving me a really weak bullshit excuse or you're the kind of fucking drop kick that takes that long to wash their fucking hair like what which is it like probably a little bit of both probably it just it just makes no sense to me but that's my hot take I'm over busy people I don't care if you're busy I don't care I really don't care I love this I don't care if you work I don't care if you run six businesses or if you work a nine to five I don't give a fuck I know you got some free time we've all got free everyone got fucking free time like pick the fucking phone up oh my god or quick little mini hot take off the back of that people that don't answer their phone oh my god yeah and like you'll text that like you'll call them just to say hi and they'll be like hey what's up hey what's up like they they they let the phone call ring out and then immediately reply after the phone has rang out going hey what's up I have removed everybody in my life that doesn't like phone calls because I love nothing more than being in the car I love a phone call and ring in some like hey babes how I love a phone call if you are a texture and you don't do calls see you later I'm not a texture because I'm dyslexic so I really prefer not texting and that's why anyone who has regular text conversations with me will know I use voice to text all the time so my messages come across really formal and blunt because I can't be bothered typing I'd honestly much rather call you and speak to you for an hour and then not speak to you for the rest of the day over text I love calls facetimes and calls I love hearing the voices of my friends I love seeing the faces of my friends I love actually speaking with them I don't like typing to them and people who will let the phone ring out and then I can see your active you sent me your location I have your location I see you are active right now I'm calling you're still active you let it ring out as soon as it rings out hey what's up how are you and then you like I'm just calling to say hi oh okay yeah and then they try to have a text conversation with you what the fuck pick up the fucking phone like people who never answer the phone piss me the fuck off because it's like I'm not texting you I guess we'll never talk because you're not picking up and I'm not texting exactly guess we'll never talk well on that note on that fucking note that was hot take hotline I
