Episode 46 - Pathworking to Meet the Light God

(upbeat music) - Welcome to the Unnamed Path. I'm your host, Hyperion. Today we're gonna be doing a path working to meet the light God. In order to set up for this path working, you're gonna need the following tools. Either the Stang, or alternatively your wand, plus a white candle. And before you begin your ceremony, you want to set up the Stang, or wand, and the candle in the East. And the candle starts out being unlit. There's a point in the ceremony where you will actually light that candle. But for now, leave it unlit. You can also burn some incense that you feel might be right for this occasion, preferably some kind of enlightening or magical blend, something like frankincense and lavender is really nice, or some sandalwood would be appropriate as well. And you can dress either all in white, or alternatively any light color, or you can even be completely nude for this as well. Just make sure you have a white or light colored blanket to put over yourself when you do the actual path working, because it is quite likely that your body will get very cold as part of the path working. So just be prepared for that if that were to happen. Also have a comfortable place ready to go to either sit or lay down and meditate when you're actually doing your path working. So before we begin, I'm gonna go ahead and give you a chance to set that all up. You can go ahead and pause the podcast at this point, and when we resume, we'll pick right up with the path working. (gentle music) Start by facing east. Take several deep breaths, and as you exhale, release all of your tensions and troubles of the day. Feel all of your worries. Exhale out on your breath as if you're blowing out black smoke, and each inhale makes your muscles, tendons and nerves completely relax. Continue to take more and more deep breaths, each one taking you deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation. And as you continue to relax, I want you to imagine roots extending out of you, the bottoms of your feet and the base of your spine, and see them grow down through the floor, down to the many layers of sand and rock and soil, down toward the very underworld itself. And as your roots reach the underworld, with your next breath, pull up the dark, sparkling energy of the underworld, up through your roots, up through the many layers of rock, sand and soil, up through the floor, up into your feet, and see that beautiful, syrupy, sparkling, dark energy fill your body as if a glass is being filled with water. See it move up your legs, up your thighs, up into your torso, see a cascade down your shoulders into your arms, up your neck and into your head. And as that energy reaches the crown of your head, see it turn into branches that grow out of your shoulders and the tops of your head and see those branches reach up into the sky, see them grow up out of the roof of the very building you are in, up past the clouds, up toward the very upper world. And as your branches continue to grow and reach toward the shining light of the upper world, when they reach the upper world with your next breath, pull some of the sparkling, silvery white energy of the upper world, down through your branches, down past the clouds, down through the very roof of the building you're in, down into your head and shoulders and see that beautiful, sparkling, white energy, cascade down into your body and swirl and mingle with the dark energy of the underworld. And as these two magnificent energies swirl together and contact one another, they ignite one another in an explosion of beautiful spiritual bliss. And as that explosion of bliss happens within you, feel your heart open up and expand like a flower opening in the early morning. And as that flower opens up in your heart opens up, feel your love, your capacity to love, the very power that you have as a man who loves men, feel that, radiate out of your heart and fill the space around you. Feel that love expand outward to fill your entire home to fill your entire neighborhood and your entire nation and the entire globe. And now that you are centered and empowered and prepared to begin, let us raise the great crossroads. As you face east, reach out with your hand through the fabric of the middle world with your opened heart and your capacity to love and pour your love out into that direction. Think of all of the things that the east represents, the burning flames of the rising sun, the power of magic and the art of prophecy, the force of the human will, your ability to foresee the future and mold it to your desires. And as you feel these things in your heart and reach out with your love, when you feel reciprocal energy returning to your hand, pull that energy back towards you keeping it in your hand. Now with your other hand, reach toward the west through the very fabric of the middle world with your opened heart and your capacity to love and pour your love out in that direction. Think of all of the things that the west represents, the cool flowing waters of the sea, the flowing nature of our emotions and our soul, the abstract surreal magical art of shamanism and the waking dream state where wisdom is found, your ability to understand the true nature of things. Feel all of these things in your mind and with your opened heart reach out and when you feel reciprocal energy returning back to you, pull that energy back in your hand. And now with the east in one hand and the west in the other, merge the two together creating a road of energy reaching east and west and then turn and push your hands toward the opposite directions they represent, east hand goes west, west hand goes east and this axis is complete. Now facing north, reach out through the fabric of the middle world with your opened heart and your capacity to love and pour your love out in that direction. Think of all of the things that the north represents, the ancestors, spirit contact, the earth, the grave, the cold tomb, your ability to communicate with the dead and assist those who are transitioning into death. Feel all of these things in your heart and pour your love out toward the north then when you feel reciprocal energy returning to your hand, pull that energy back towards you keeping it in that hand. Now toward the south reach out with your other hand through the fabric of the middle world with your opened heart fueled by your capacity to love and pour your love out in that direction. Think of all of the things that the south represents. Health, vibrant life, lush fields blowing in the wind, the air that whips through leafy branches making them quiver with excitement, the warmth of living flesh and the sensuality of it. Your ever-changing thoughts always curious about the world. Your ability to heal. Feel all of these things and reach out with your love and when you feel reciprocal energy returning to your hand pull that energy back towards you and stand for a moment with the north and one hand in the south and the other. Then merge these two together by pushing your hands together, creating a road of energy extending north and south. Then turn and push your hands toward the opposite direction they represent, north hand goes south and south hand goes north, completing this axis. Face east again, reaching down into the underworld with your hand reached through the very fabric of time and space with your opened heart and your capacity to love and pour your love out in that direction. Think of all of the things that the underworld represents. The land of spiritual repose and refreshment. The place where the mighty dead reside and from which we derive our power. The home of the ancestors of men who love men. Feel all of these things coupled with your capacity to love and when you feel reciprocal energy returning to your hand pull that energy back towards you keeping it in that hand. Now reach upward toward the upper world with your other hand reaching through the very fabric of time and space with your opened heart fueled by your capacity to love and pour your love out in that direction. Think of all of the things that the upper world represents. The land of the guides and master teachers who have gone before those whose energy guides us every day with inspiration the place where the mighty tribal totems live and mingle with the gods. Feel all of these things fueled by your capacity to love and when you feel reciprocal energy returning to your hand pull that energy back towards you and stand for a moment with the underworld in one hand and the upper world in the other. Now push your hands together and merge the two energies creating a pillar of energy reaching high into the upper world and deep into the underworld. Then push your hands in the opposite directions that they represent. Underworld hand goes up, upper world hand goes down. And this axis is complete. Stand for a moment and seek deep within your heart for the core essence of who you are and within that singularity know that all potential of the entire universe exists. Take a moment to feel that dark potential energy of the goddess within you. Then feel it start to swell until it explodes out in all directions infinitely reaching the expanse of the universe and see what was once a dark singularity now converted into an entire field of brilliant stars shining in the night. Turn and face the east, light the candle and using it as a portal, reach through it with all of the love in your heart as if calling forth a lover. Only you are calling forth the light God. Take a moment and invoke the light God with your own words that come from your heart. Now sit or lay comfortably in the place where you plan on meditating. Start by taking several deep breaths with each inhale, relax all of the muscles of your body and with each exhale release all of the tensions and troubles of your day. See them leaving your body like black smoke as you exhale. Each breath takes you deeper and deeper into relaxation. As you continue breathing, know that each breath you take only serves to take you deeper into a state of perfect peace. Continue to take deep breaths and count from 13 down to one, knowing that each number will take you deeper into a place of total relaxation. 13, 12, 11, growing more and more relaxed. 10, 9, 8, getting even more relaxed with each number. 7, 6, 5, almost completely relaxed now. 4, 3, 2, 1. You are completely relaxed and at a place of total and perfect peace. Now that you are properly relaxed, imagine yourself standing before the world tree. See it standing tall before you. Take in the color and the texture of its bark. Feel the bark under your hands. Look up into its branches, soaring high into the sky. Get a good look at the leaves, the shape and the color. Take note of what kind of tree it is for future work. Now place both of your hands on the trunk of the tree and firmly state your reason for this path-working, to meet the light God. You feel the world tree responds signaling that it is in alignment with your intent and it beckons you in. Look around at the base of the trunk of the tree for an opening that leads inside. The time has come for you to travel to the upper world. Enter into this opening. You are now inside the massive trunk of the world tree. You find that it is hollow in the middle and carved around the walls are stairs that spiral clockwise up toward a warm ethereal glow. You begin climbing the stairs toward the upper world. And as you climb higher and higher and higher, an ambient light starts to fill the space around you. Higher and higher you climb. And this light beckons you to go further and further up. You want to go faster and faster up toward the upper world, but your legs cannot carry you quickly enough. So you begin to float upward in the center of the tree. As you float upward, you start to gain speed and fly upward faster and faster and faster you fly. Your eyes become overcome with the ambient light around you until you are temporarily blinded and cannot perceive anything but a huge flash of white light. Suddenly you feel yourself pop out of a hole in the ground and land comfortably and easily on the soft grass. You have arrived in the upper world. Take a moment, open your eyes, rub them and let them adjust to the brilliance of this land. And look around and take in the landscape. Everything looks lush, beautiful, brilliant, clear and clean. Take a moment to compose yourself before you continue. Call out to your spirit guides, to your shamanic guides and your totem animals. Call them specifically by name if you know them as they appear around you. You feel yourself filled with comfort and knowledge knowing that they are here to assist you. As they appear, explain to them your desire to meet the light God. Ask them to please take you to the light God that you may know him better. Follow their instructions and make your way toward the light God. And when you meet him, ask him all of the questions you might have, including how you may form a deeper relationship with him, what his mysteries are, and if he has any wisdom to share with you. Go now and take as much time as you need. [MUSIC PLAYING] [BIRDS CHIRPING] [BIRDS CHIRPING] [BIRDS CHIRPING] [BIRDS CHIRPING] Your time with the Light God is coming to an end. Take a moment to thank the Light God and ask him if he has any specific tasks for you to perform. Remember the specific task if he assigns one to you for it is the beginning of your relationship that you are forming with him. Build the Light God farewell. Take as much time as you need. Know that you can return to this place to speak with him at any time. Simply repeat the same process that we have done here today and you can once again be reunited with the Light God. A bit him farewell and make your way to the nearest pool of water that you can find. Pools of water act as transitways between the various worlds. Once you find that pool of water, no matter how large or small it is, know that it can lead you back to your originating point at the start of this journey. Knowing this, leap into the pool of water and find yourself returned to the point just inside the trunk of the world tree when you first began your journey. Step out of the world tree and turn to face the trunk. Place your hands in gratitude on the bark, offering your thanks for the spiritual experience, pour your love out through your hands into the trunk of the world tree. Your journey is coming to an end. Now, counting from one up to 13 will slowly return to the mundane world, remembering every bit of your experience on this path-working. One. Two. Three, growing more and more aware. Four. Five. Six. Becoming aware of the room in the space around you. Seven. Eight. Becoming aware of the temperature around you. Nine. Ten. Becoming aware of your limbs. Eleven. Becoming aware of your body. Twelve. Almost completely awake now. Thirteen. Take a moment to wiggle your fingers and toes and stretch your arms and legs and return completely to the mortal world here in the middle world. Stretch. Take a couple of deep breaths. And when you are ready, open your eyes. Welcome back. [Music]
