The podcast presents two distinct yet interconnected horror stories. The first details a recurring encounter with a masked, full-armor knight in a foggy neighborhood, described with increasing tension as the figure approaches homes and changes behavior, culminating in a moment of direct eye contact that sends the observer into shock. The second recounts a high school group’s terrifying night hike into a woods, where they encounter a seven-foot-tall, masked man with a blade, leading to a panicked escape and a hidden altar with symbols and animal remains. The group, fearing exposure and protecting their shared trauma, refuses to report the incident to authorities. Years later, one member receives a call from a former classmate claiming the same figure is now outside his window—though the caller’s tone lacks genuine panic and no further contact is made. The stories explore themes of paranoia, personal ownership of trauma, and the ambiguity of reality. The narrative is framed within a broader horror brand, Radio Rental, which promotes its content through subscriptions, exclusive merchandise, and audience participation in sharing personal scare stories. The tone blends realism with eerie suspense, presenting a haunting reflection on fear, memory, and the human desire to keep dangerous experiences private.

Welcome to Radio Rental.
Uh, I mean, my laboratory.
Uh, I'm Professor V, Doctor of Science.
It's me, Vince.
Boo.
Anyways, I was made aware of a little tradition here at Radio Rental.
Do it big for Halloween.
At least that's what it said in this employee manual I found,
but it also said I should try microdosing bleach
to get rid of my impure thoughts.
Not sure I can entirely trust it,
but. Anyways, I'm turning this store into a haunted lab for the holiday.
Don't really have a budget for, like, fancy decorations,
so I'm just using stuff I scrounged.
Got some green sludge over here in a jar.
Ooh, that's creepy.
Found that outside in a place that will remain undisclosed.
Also, check this out.
Got a little spoon here.
Balanced it over a little lighter.
Put some Pop Rocks on it.
It's like a science experiment.
Ah, whatever.
The kids are gonna love it.
Malaguy.
It's academical.
Academical.
Academic.
There we go.
Alright.
Well, gotta set up this IV drip station.
Gonna take cherry soda and pretend it's blood.
Heh heh.
Thicken it up with a little bit of cinnamon toothpaste.
Let's pop in a tape for you in the meantime.

My boyfriend and I had moved out with somebody into Pacifica, which, its nickname is Fog City,
so it has this, like, already, like, eerie set to it at night, it's like, you can't see
your hand in front of you fog.
We would stay up and like, I don't know, walk out and smoke cigs in the middle of the night.
Just stay up and talk for hours.
We are sitting up one night.
I'm relaxing in my chair.
*crickets chirping*
*crickets chirping*
I heard something.
Some jarring noise I didn't recognize.
It didn't sound super close to me, but it sounded like, almost like, uh, when they pick
up the trash cans for, like, recycling, but like, it was too, like, rhythmic.
I'm always watching a scary movie, so like, I didn't know if it was on there, I paused
it, whatever.
I remember, like, it, like, annoying me.
It, like, bothered me.
I wanted my peace to hear it.
When it didn't go away, I remember, like, looking around and realizing that it was probably
coming from outside.
I finally, like, thought to look out the window.
I open the curtain outside in my, like, misty, foggy neighborhood, coming down the middle
of the road.
It is where this rhythmic sound is coming from.
This, like, chilling noise.
And it's someone dressed as a knight.
Full metal knight outfit.
Full medieval armor.
You could tell that there was, like, design to it.
There were rivets.
He had, like, the shoes.
The helmet was in place.
You couldn't see his eyes.
His arms were at his side.
And he had, like, the big shoulders, the breastplate, like, shining in the moonlight.
You could see down to his fingers.
Everything was there.
Like, someone had spent money on this, and it showed.
And then on top of all that, he had a red cape that flared out the back walking down
the hill.
And it was connected with a chain across his shoulder.
You could see his shoulders that latched on.
It was a very expensive piece of metal armor that he was enjoying.
That was the only noise it could be, and he was the only one making it.
Of course, I called in my boyfriend, stage whispering at my boyfriend to come over to
the window.
We both kind of just, like, watched, like, mouths open until he opened the door.
He just fucking left.
He just walked away in his cadence with his noise.
I think before we went to sleep, I was like, that actually happened, right?
And, like, we made a little joke, and that was it.
Three days later, we are up late again.
I, like, make jewelry sometimes.
My boyfriend's fixing something.
TV is on.
I'm sitting in my chair underneath of the window.
It's a wonderful fog city night.
I hear this metal in the corner of my ear while I'm sitting there coming from up the street.
But it's the rhythmicness of it that is what kind of put me at attention.
It's just this rhythmic, like, clang, clang, clang.
Like, you can really hear the mechanics.
And before I could even, like, put that symbol to it, I'm already looking out the window.
And there is the medieval knight in glistening armor, enjoying his time walking in the middle of the street.
You hear him come the whole way down.
You can hear it throughout the whole court.
Like, I don't know how no one else heard.
I call my boyfriend over again in silence, and we watch him slowly walk down to the end of the block, the end of the court.
Turn left, and then he leaves.
I don't feel frightened.
I just feel like, who's, like, loser adult son is living in their basement, walking around in the middle of the night in a full medieval kit?
And how much money?
And did he buy it?
Like, is it on rent?
We saw him come through the neighborhood two more times.
And it was. Simple and quick.
I would be sitting in my chair, fiddling with my things.
I would hear the noise out of my ear, him approaching down the hill.
I'd know exactly it was him.
And as quickly as he came, he was gone.
Things got weird one time when we came home late from, like, a family party or a friend party or something.
I was really like, get home and take my dog out.
This is, like, 12:30, I think.
I was wearing, like, this big, bright red shirt.
I guess as we're still kind of getting things settled, my windows are open.
I hear the noise again.
I go over to the window.
I'm rushing about it.
It's become, like, a novelty thing, and he goes by so fast that I wanted to catch him.
As I open the window, he is, of course, like, perfectly crossing, like, perpendicular with my apartment.
He stops and, like, looks back at me.
I finally saw the front of his mask.
It was, I mean, still definitely metal.
It was, like, more like a cone-shaped, like, an upside-down cone, slits for eyes, but, like, he was looking at me.
It lasted a little bit too long.
And I closed it and, like, ran to go tell my boyfriend, like, "Oh, my God, he saw me."
My boyfriend was like, "No, no, no, he didn't," and I bring him to the front of the house.
The knife has already started walking away.
that he had seen me and I was like,
all right, fine.
he's done he wasn't done he looped back around and instead of walking down the
middle of the street which is the way he had always done it the previous four
times he was now walking on the sidewalk in front of my home he laughed at one
more time after that without stopping it was just too fucking close it wasn't
from being like we're like watching him in his world to now that he's in ours
for the next six times he stuck to this new mo of just walking the sidewalk he
would come down only on the sidewalk walk by the house and turn he never went
back to the middle of the street and he started lapping the house multiple times
and I was like I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that
now they had seen me it's like he had an audience it turned fucking creepy one
night we get home late Krishna's already in the house and I'm letting the dog get
out front I look up and he's standing but halfway down the court looking down
the hill the leg behind him and I'm like what the fuck is going on and he's like
I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do
that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna do that I'm not gonna
hands on his hips just looking down at my dog and I my dog gives like the
warning like how so I like I get my ass inside I grab my dog and I put him in
and I run and I tell Christian I was like Christian he's out there we all go
to the window which is like now become this routine except this time when I
look out
not only walk down the sidewalk but he's just standing in my driveway looking up
I'm almost surprised that I didn't hear like him moving faster than he usually
does but he just lingered there just stood in an empty driveway just like a
looking up at the window that he had first seen me in that's kind of the first time I was like

I had art class with Eric this fall and
I had art class with Eric this fall and
I was really happy about that.
It wasn't a given that you would be in classes with people you knew,
especially if they were, you know, a grade ahead of you, right?
So I typically sat next to him when we would paint.
So we're sitting down doing our oil paintings one Monday,
and Eric kind of leans in and tells me that he's got something weird to talk about,
something kind of spooky, and he tells me that lately someone's been kind of harassing or hassling his family, right?
That they've been leaving notes on the house, threatening notes, notes signed by someone calling themselves.
Death Watch.
Accompanied by kind of a mark or a logo, a symbol, a skull, surrounded by a diamond.
He starts telling me these stories routinely, you know, again, as we're painting.
Every week it seems to escalate a little bit.
He came in one Monday and described to me that over the weekend, you know,
there was, you know, dog shit smeared all over their front door stoop area.
He came in once and told me that,
you know, he had a little sister and she had a kiddie pool out in front of the house.
And one morning they went out and found a dead cat, throat slit, ear to ear,
having bled out in the kiddie pool.
Again, with a note.
They found, you know, animal entrails and intestines just smeared and splattered all over their front door or front porch.
And then he told me once his mother got in a big car accident,
when they took the car in, I guess to either be repaired at the garage,
or to be assessed for insurance purposes, whatever.
The mechanic told them that the brake line had been severed.
And the note they had the next morning has said something to the effect of,
how was your commute or how was the ride?
At this point, I'd have to assume they would have gotten the police involved.
I don't know.
You know, this is the early 90s.
I don't think they were, you know, taking DNA swabs of, you know,
things like this, vandalism, things of that nature.
All I know is this guy was still out there, had not been caught.
I don't know what happened to him, but I don't know if he's still alive or not.
Eric lived in a bit of a rural neighborhood, a little farther removed from the school than a lot of us other guys.
A little bit more kind of a wooded area.
And his room, I remember, was situated in the back of the house, kind of facing, you know, a group of trees.
It had a pretty big window back there.
And he told me one Monday that he saw the guy.
That he saw the guy through the window.
He saw a guy skulking around the backyard.
He got a peek.
He described him as extremely tall.
Skeptical.
Skeptical.
You know, he's saying like seven feet, something tall.
Wearing a trench coat, a black trench coat.
And wearing, interestingly, a welding mask.
And that he stopped and looked directly at him through the window.
Eric freaked out.
You know, this guy's hassling his family.
He wanted to. out there and confront the guy so he ran outside saw the guy run into the woods chased the guy
only to be chased out a few seconds later and because the guy had eric kept calling it a scythe
i'm guessing it was a handheld thing a sickle or a sling blade or some kind of farming implement
chased him back out of the woods pretty quickly
he had done some some scouting in that area of woods later didn't tell me many details but he
said he found some evidence that that's where the guy was hanging out or headquartered so when
we heard that he knew where this guy was first thing we thought it was oh let's let's go out
there let's go out in the woods and then see what there is to see that friday night the group i
described earlier eric corporal nate my brother and jason and i we gathered at eric's house after
the high school football game and we decided to go out into the woods this isn't the largest forest
in the world but it's the largest forest in the world this isn't the largest forest in the world
but to hear eric describe it the area where he found the interesting stuff was not necessarily
close to his house it was more accessible through a church parking lot a few blocks away that there
is basically an entrance right there into the woods so we piled into my car and it drove us
out there got out we got suited up so to speak uh we all had flashlights corporal at that moment
pulled out of the trunk a uh boken a wooden practice sword that people use in kenda i
remember he bragged that he had picked it up at a flea market and he was able to get it out of the
market in new jersey he was very proud of this practice sword so he was ready with his weapon
eric led the way corporal being the big tough guy followed then they didn't end jason and myself i
pulled up the rear walking single file into these woods there was a path a definite path but it was
pretty narrow we could really walk side by side there's places where the path kind of would
diverge into other smaller paths sometimes it would rejoin the main path sometimes they wouldn't we
stayed on what we would describe i guess as the main path walking maybe five ten minutes it wasn't
long before we started seeing kind of some weird stuff some trees would have kind of spray painted
on them again that symbol that eric had described the skull in the diamond occasionally you would
see like an animal skull kind of tied to tree trunks or hanging from tree branches
eventually we get to kind of a clearing and i couldn't tell what i was looking at at first
as we shined our flashlights on it you know it was kind of reflected back from a screen
and it was actually a pile of computer equipment broken and smashed computer monitors
printers keyboards whatever was the 90s right so these those big beige tower computers
scorch marks all over them big pile of those randomly in the middle of the woods
they're surrounded by a bunch of candles that looked like they'd been recently lit right that
uh they've been melted um clearly you know you can't see them but you can see them and you can't
use it gave off the impression almost to some kind of altar or something like that and i started
wondering is this one guy is it some kind of cult i was getting pretty creepy one of the weirdest
things i'd ever seen just past the computer altar the path kind of diverged very clearly into into
two you know left and right we were wondering which way we should check out sure enough we
looked in the flashlight there and there was a animal skull and a spray-painted
death watch mark on the left tree so we we go left
now the woods are getting a little bit thicker we can no longer you know see the lights from the from
the parking lot behind us we're relying solely on our flashlights the ground is getting a little
harder to traverse you know there's exposed tree roots and things like that it's a less
traveled area of the woods so still clearly a path
we can hear things around us but we don't know where they're coming from
we can hear things around us snapping twigs rustling bushes you know not sure if it's a deer or some other
animal somebody's kind of following us or looking at us through the woods who knows but there's
definitely some activity around us and you know we'd shine our flashlights by the time we did we
wouldn't see anything you know we could see maybe a branch moving as if something had brushed up
against it we couldn't see what had caused it walking maybe another 10 minutes or so
corporal stops in his tracks we're walking single file so you know
eric runs into corporal and nate runs in eric and jason runs into nate and i run into jason we all
stop and i'm wondering what what the hell why did he stop suddenly we all shine our flashlights and
there's a guy standing right there just a few yards from corporal
and at first looks like he's kind of crouching down
he starts standing up
spreading out almost like he's trying to kind of
puff himself out and look bigger
and it is as eric described this guy looks like he could actually be seven feet tall
he is absolutely wearing a welding mask he is wearing a black trench coat
and he is holding something in his hand which it's a blade
takes us all a second to kind of register what we're seeing
he's staring right at us and he's not moving
he took a step forward
and raised his arm and kind of lunged a little bit made a movement toward us he's only
maybe a yard or two from corporal
all hell breaks loose
we turn tail and run as fast as we can in all different directions as we
find converging paths we kind of split up i have a horrible sense of direction myself i immediately
separated from the rest of the group i dropped my flashlight before long and i can't really go back
for it i don't want to go back for it i don't want to turn around because i can hear things behind me
i'm tripping and falling i'm uh brushing up against trees running straight into tree trunks tripping
over uh roots finally i really fall like i face plants and i realized i tripped over the uh pile
of computers or run run right into a portion of this altar which is great because now i know i'm
headed the right direction i look up and i can actually see lights from the parking lot the tree
parking lot and i know i'm headed the right direction i take off running i get out there
i see that jason and nate are already out there waiting by the car panting freaked out uh kind
of shell-shocked look in their face eric follows out not long behind me from a different uh you
know kind of exit from the woods i unlock the car we all pile in i start the engine i turn on the
lights and we realize corporal's not with us we don't know where corporal is in the car have the
headlights on facing the woods i turn on the lights and we realize corporal's not with us we don't know where corporal is in the car have the headlights on facing the woods
and we can make out something happening with some commotion we see
branches moving around we see a couple of figures kind of reflecting some of the light back
after a second or two corporal does come out but he's not facing us he's facing the woods
he's swinging his sword back and forth death watch is right on his tail appears to be kind
of swinging his weapon as well they are engaged or close to being physically engaged with the
one another death watch stops cold right at the entrance of the of the woods almost as if he
couldn't leave or wasn't allowed to to leave the woods corporal ran toward the car you know saw the
headlights knew we were there jumps in the back seat and deathwise disappeared back into the woods
out of breath panting panicking i didn't waste any time you know putting it in
reverse and getting the hell out of there and heading back to eric's fastest i've ever driven
man can you believe that did you did you see that did you see how tall he was
there were disagreements again about what weapon he was actually wielding there were conversations
about the the altar itself you know connecting the dots between the skulls and bones and and
animal parts we saw out there with the uh the stuff that had happened at eric's house
it all seemed to kind of add up and paint a cohesive picture of what eric had been had been
telling us
pull up in the driveway we're all freaked out we're all panting
in the headlights i can see there's a note on eric's front door
we get out and walk up and eric pulls it off and looks at it and uh shows it to us and this one says
five against one not fair send one
holy that guy must have really booked it to get out here that quickly and it just
emphasizes that he uh knew exactly where we were headed he knew where eric lived and he had a he
had a message to give us so we passed the note around and we're all looking at it and you know
still still out of breath from having run through the woods beginning to calm down after getting
back and then having that uh that panic kind of set in again um this this is not over this
might not be over he he wants us to go back one at a time and he wants to he wants to kill us
at that point i think we we left eric went in we said good night the other guys who come in
their separate cars got in their cars and uh drove home the other guys were by themselves i was with
jason's we continued to talk about it on the way home continued to theorize was was it even real
how real was it was there any meaning in any of the specific stuff that we had found out in the woods
when were we going to go back and try it again and what can we bring next time you know can we bring
other people can we bring other weapons to protect ourselves etc what are we going to
do if we see the guy again it wasn't long before the conversation kind of steered into uh you know
essentially planning the next excursion.
There were other times we did this.
This got to be kind of a Friday night post-football game ritual.
Sometimes we'd bring other kids out there.
Sometimes we'd go out as the original group.
Never saw the guy again.
Gradually, over the course of that year,
you know, the computer pile was eventually cleaned up.
The logo started to fade from things,
became kind of a memory.
There were no more notes.
Became just kind of regular woods over the course of that year.
An ordinary person might call the police
after having been nearly assaulted
or potentially assaulted in the woods
by a weapon-wielding maniac.
We did not.
One element of it is kind of that shared experience that we had.
It felt special to us,
having gone through something dangerous and survived together.
It felt like we had ownership of it,
and we didn't want to get other people involved.
We didn't want to go home
and tell the police about it.
We didn't want to go home and tell our parents.
We didn't want to get the cops involved.
That was our thing.
I think another part of it, too,
is there was always that nagging doubt.
Did that really even happen
the way that I'm remembering it in my head?
There was probably some paranoia there as well.
I don't think it crossed any of our minds seriously
to treat the situation maybe with the seriousness
that it deserved, looking back.
So a few years later, we're all in college.
Most of us are still in college.
Most of us are still in our hometown,
myself included, at that time.
We were in different schools, different majors,
different friends groups.
We'd all kind of drifted apart a little bit.
Out of the blue, one night,
something like 2, 3 in the morning,
my phone rings.
Picked it up.
And it was Eric, who I hadn't talked to
in a couple of years at that point.
He sounded distressed.
He said, hey, he's here right now.
He's outside my window.
I saw him.
Get back out here.
Bring as many people as you can.
Let's do this.
Let's find him.
I couldn't bring myself to get jazzed about it at that point.
I mean, I pushed back.
I said I couldn't go.
I had a test in the morning, which was true,
that I was tired, et cetera,
that I would talk to him again later.
He pushed back again.
No, you got to get out here.
I think my reasons for not going,
there's multiple, right?
First of all, I really did have finals the next day.
Hadn't talked to the guy in years.
I didn't seem like a good,
the kind of reason why I might want to at three in the morning,
put on shoes and get in my car
and go all the way out to his place
for a teenage type adventure
when I was now in my early twenties.
Something didn't add up about it.
So I was firm with him that I wasn't going to go out there.
We'll keep in touch soon.
Let's hang out sometime.
His tone of voice on this phone call,
it didn't sound like he was actually panicked.
Like he actually thought that he was in danger.
It felt like he was like a put on,
like he was just saying that the,
the impression I got is that he was just lonely and wanted to hang out.
I wasn't getting a real sense of danger from his tone of voice,
but I didn't hear from him after that.
That phone number stopped working after a little while.
Time passed.
We got out of college.
We all got into the working world and our careers.
I moved out of the country,
contact old friends and you see what they're up to and you try and keep in touch.
Then it became clear that no one had really talked to Eric since that era.
No one's heard from him.
He is not on social media.
We've actually gone as far as to drive by his old house when we were in town,
just to see if maybe he was still there.
If his mom still lived there and then she could give us some contact info appears
to be abandoned.
No one has a current number for him.
I don't know if he even has an email address.
He certainly doesn't appear to be on social media.
We have not have not managed to find him.
There's a, there's no telling what, uh, what became of him.
Maybe death watch was real and maybe, uh, death watches final plan came to fruition and he's not with us anymore.
I don't know that I have a way to find out at this point.
Damn dude, that was dark.
Masked terrorizer.
That means it could be anybody that means it could be you.
I guess that also means it could be me.
Nevermind.
Let's just drop it.
Okay.
Forget I said anything.
Uh, ads time.
Oh, okay.
Dude, put your hand in here.
Mystery.
Bye.
Doc's time.
Again, what do you feel?
Oh, that's right.
Eyeballs.
Oh yeah, it's, it's just eyeballs.
Yeah, that's honestly, it's, it's eyeballs I bought from the meat market.
I found him fighters keepers anyways.
It's been real fun, dude.
Thanks for visiting me.

Podcast Summary
Key Points:
The podcast shares a chilling real-life story of a mysterious, masked figure seen walking through a foggy neighborhood, initially appearing as a lone knight in full armor.
The narrator recounts how the figure was observed multiple times, changing routes and eventually coming close to their home, which escalated from curiosity to deep unease.
Another story involves a group of high school friends who encounter a tall, masked man in a wooded area, armed with a blade, during a late-night outing, leading to a dramatic and terrifying confrontation.
The group avoids involving authorities, driven by a shared sense of personal ownership and fear of disrupting their trauma, choosing instead to keep the experience private.
Years later, one of the original friends calls to report the same figure is now outside his window, prompting a fear-based reunion, but no further contact or confirmation is made.
The stories emphasize themes of paranoia, shared experience, and the blurred line between reality and hallucination.
The podcast promotes Radio Rental and its "Tenderfoot Plus" subscription with ad-free content and bonus scary stories.
A recurring science-themed prank segment and promotional content underscore the show’s blend of horror, humor, and user-generated storytelling.
