Hello, welcome to your Hollywood crime scene mini episode. Hello our top story Darryl Hannah has responded to her portrayal in love story. Yeah, JFK Jr. and Carolin beset. This was such an official response. She is not happy. I mean, I'm not surprised. I don't blame her. We're all talking about it. We talked about this last week how on this new Ryan Murphy mini series about JFK Jr. and Carolin beset. Darryl Hannah is prominently featured in the first three episodes, three or four episodes, because she was dating JFK Jr. for a long time on and off. And the way she's portrayed is very needy, very just desperate, clingy, a little co-cati, clingy, not really think like just kind of socially weird not getting the Kennedy like of it all like yeah just being like flaky kind of like he and just like not cool and she does some like not cool stuff. Right like the party with her cooking. Incensitive. Yeah, she's insensitive. She's portrayed as that. It's not a flattering portrayal. No, and everyone was losing it. Yeah, like that was like the first thing I saw, like the first take I saw about the series before I even watched it. They were like what a Darryl Hannah do to piss the writers off. Yeah, because it's so over the top. And it's like like we said I think last week, she's not someone who has a particularly bad reputation. She doesn't I've never heard of something about her ever. So it's no wonder that she was like I got to make an official statement about this and clear some things up because they do a ledge. Some pretty shitty things about her. Anyway, she took to New York magazine. Excuse me, this is the New York Times. Yeah, so big like big the biggest. The biggest you can get. I'm just going to read a couple of excerpts from this open letter that she said she said I have generally chosen not to respond to media coverage of me. I have long believed that engaging with distortion often amplifies it. But a recent tragedy exploiting television series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bissett features a character using my name and presents her as me. The choice to portray her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny, and inappropriate was no accident. She said the character Darryl Hannah portrayed in the series is not even remotely accurate representation of my life. My conduct or my relationship with John. The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue. I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine fueled parties. I have now that is a big scene. She has all these friends over. It's like look how rude Darryl Hannah is. She invited all these friends over. John gets home after a long day. He's like does he doesn't want to talk to anybody and there's all these people doing coke off of family heirloom. They're like doing coke on the constitution or something literally. Like some like family heirloom. Yeah, some like antique heirloom from the 18th century and she has the gall to be doing cocaine off of it and she's like what? I mean it would be pretty funny if she really did. Yeah, but I can understand not wanting to take credit. I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone's private memorial. That's another thing in the show she crashes the memorial service of Jackie O. Yeah. And she's very insensitive during that memorial. I mean the only thing I would ever buy about Darryl Hannah is is that she's a bit of a hippie flake type. Yeah. Who's never doing anything maybe intentionally mean but might just be like what or not get it sometimes which isn't like a bad thing. No. But that's like the most I could buy. Right. But they really want to know. She said I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline O. Nassus's death to a dog. Yeah. It's appalling to me that I even have to defend myself against a television show. These are not creative embellishments of personality. They are assertions about conduct and they are false. She's pretty wild that they went this far onto someone who actually is famous. That's what I said last week. Yeah. It's like she's gonna, you know, you can't do that. I said last week I have never seen anything like this before where a still very much alive person right was portrayed in a way like this that we all were like this can't be right. Yeah. I mean everyone immediately was like this is like we don't I don't even know much about Darryl. I don't either but it's like we would have heard something if she was like this I think more like yeah she just never has been she hasn't even been that much in the media except probably when she was dating him. But her person yeah her personal life has been private. Yeah and she stated some pretty famous people like I mean she's married to Neil Young and she was with Jackson Brown too and they that had a like a lot of volatile stuff but it was mostly him not her yeah yeah no it was weird it's weird that they thought she wouldn't say something I know but I know to go that far and not think she's gonna say uh no like I'd like to hear an explanation from whoever wrote this character for her like what were they thinking I definitely think they were treating this like you would if you were writing a fictional thing you want to have this contrast between the X and why he was so be sottenly besotted with like Carolyn like yeah it was like look at the difference this is a real marriage material because it's like look at the cool girl she's like a cool girl and Darryl Hannah was like the needy girl she can't handle the Kennedy aspects of the relationship right Darryl Hannah does mention her statement she's like this is honestly like misogynistic and I agree yeah because there was no reason to have to compare and contrast these two women no to make us get why he loved Carolyn we didn't need it yeah like it could have just been like we honestly he they could have not had it in at all it doesn't it didn't really matter that we knew no she could have literally just been mentioned like or it could have just been the part about how Carolyn thought they were broken up and they weren't right like that that's definitely maybe important but it has nothing to do with Darryl they did so much for honestly no reason yeah because I think they knew it was juicy and people want to see celebrities portrayed right like I just think there's enough interesting stuff about their story that they didn't need this of course yeah I agree that means that I did get a little choked up during the last episode the wedding you did yeah I don't know why um it's it was a good episode yeah I thought it was cool like how they did it the wedding I loved her dress although I didn't get why she was so late that did irritate I I got really stressed out about how late she was because that's like excessive especially if you're sitting in the heat like I was just like that's irritating yeah like and nobody knew I guess it's pre-self-phone and there's no reception there right which is I was kind of irritated by that because I was like that's really it was she was too late it was two two hours is too late I'm sorry and that was like I was even longer than two hours because at some point they're like we're only two hours late now although I will say I will say my aunt nunchles wedding on sypan was like three hours late but they were on island time I'm just like I feel like that's different I'm a punctual person and it irritates me I'm like that kind of stuff like I get stressed with Dorit and real about how so is it I got stressed about that I get stressed about that too I get stressed about that too we're all late one time or like it can happen but like if you're a regularly a late person that's irritating no I used to be that person a long time ago and I'm not anymore and so now I get stressed it's stressful to me so um but yeah I was a good episode I like the show and you know we can watch things and be like that's not true I still enjoy it yeah I mean look good for her anyway I'm not done talking about Ryan Murphy that that'll come during our tv portion yeah so we can we can discuss more later but let's get into some of our other stories this one really went viral two Oscar nominees got into hot water this week with the internet okay and with me frankly oh I know I know I really disapproved of this now you know exactly what I'm gonna say let's start with Jesse Buckley Jesse Buckley is of course nominated for Hamnet apparently look I still haven't seen Hamnet I'm sorry I'm peacock now I think I'm still it is on peacock but now I'm not watching it but fuck her now I kind of don't want to watch it and I hate that I know this because I did actually really want to see it okay so Jesse Buckley enraged the internet when a podcast interview she did three months ago with Paul Muscaw resurfaced people were like hey what about this and in the podcast interview she bragged about how she made her husband re-home his cats yes and everyone was like how dare you and I agree how dare you well she went beyond that she she said this is from today.com Jesse Buckley spotted a deal breaker when she first started dating her husband his cats the actor who was nominated for an Oscar for her role as Agnes and Hamnet opened up about her distaste for cats back in November while appearing on Josh Horowitz's sappy happy sad confused podcast now the video is resurfacing prompting some some spirited reactions from cat lovers here's everything you need to know including insight from a therapist I don't know if I need to read that while interviewing Buckley and her hamnet co-star Paul Muscaw Horowitz asked the actors if they were fans of dogs or cats both of the stars were quick to say that they're dog people I don't like cats Buckley said fuck cats honestly Muscaw said cats are mean Buckley added Buckley went on to explain that her aversion to cats runs pretty deep quote when I started dating my husband he had two cats this is bad so I'm gonna get canceled one of the cats was like a pedigree model bitch and she stayed staged a coup against me I'd come home and there'd just be like poo on my pillow and I was like it's mere the cats and how do you tell this story thinking you sound cute it's always baffling when you think someone thinks they're being funny and outrageous but it's like no people are actually gonna be mad at you did it occur to her that maybe the cat pooped on your pillow because there was a new person living in the house suddenly and that's like animal behavior that they're like hey the pH balance in this house has changed I don't like it it's pretty common and cats aren't mean no cats their trust needs to be earned here's my thing about all of this I'm not saying you have to like cats I probably won't be friends with you but you can not like cats cats are a very abused animal yes because people have these misconceptions of them and that's my biggest point about all of this it actually is dangerous for cats to keep putting these myths forward that they're not friendly or not lovable not lovable just whatever yeah I don't like it because of that it's like it's fine if you don't like cats but why are you telling me no one gives a shit and you actually look bad I mean think about how it is if you're a person in this society and you're like I don't like dogs it's like you're fucking burned at the stake right and at least you can be like well they're cops and dogs have actually killed people like you might even have more like to stand behind and I and I say you're afraid of dogs and for the record neither of us hate dogs I'm just saying that like it's there is a there is a difference in the reaction and society historically has been really unfair to cats I mean there's the whole cat lady trope there's because it's also based in misogyny it's based in misogyny and cats do have they all and every cat has varied personality traits they really do like some cats are more of you know skittish around people some cats like melon he is very social he sits down he loves to like be a part of what's going on right not every cat is like that some cats are more affectionate than others but they all are creatures they're living creatures and to be honest I would not admit a cat didn't like me because that's a that's a sign about you hmm cats cats not liking you it's like what are you doing what are you doing you're not making any attempt to befriend them are you growing a trust boundaries yeah yeah it's like it's like it's like on I won't say red flag but a pink flag it's a light red flag it doesn't like you I'm gonna be wondering why because you're probably crossing a boundary or you maybe you don't have or maybe just like give it some time yeah like a cat can I understand I'm also mad at the guy well the husband's not getting in a flat too what's his what's his excuse because he should have he should have made more of an attempt to facilitate this joining together right having the new person there it was his responsibility to to get the cat to sort of accept her right look as an animal lover in general I do think it's a big deal it's a deal breaker if I was dating someone and they said I don't I don't want paddle like your pets I want you to get buy I see plenty of people who get the same request and they're like buy there's the door like I'm not giving up my cat that's my family that's my family I'm sure the dog too I'm sure there's dog owners the same that was like the first thing I asked Brendan I said do you like cats I have I have a cat right and I'm not living my life without a cat so better better to ask a topic and now we and now we have four cats yeah no I this story was crazy I can't believe in the same age people are still spouting the nonsense about cats especially seeing how people get dragged to fucking hell for it right it's just stupid right at this point like keep it to yourself like she did go on to like try and explain herself but she honestly made it kind of worse to me she went on um Jimmy Fallon I think and she was like no no I like cats I actually auditioned uh to play a cat and cats and cats that was like her explanation yeah there was no like I'm sorry I re-home I don't need her to like give a groveling apology I'm just gonna have an opinion of what she said yeah I agree and I think she doesn't have to apologize and she also doesn't need to like cats I just I think it's weird she said that it's weird why would you say that on a pod cat's it's always weird when someone does such an unforced error yeah like we're just like why are you telling the story I've seen a tons of times where people think they're doing a cute little like aren't I so naughty and it's like it's like no that's actually disturbing yeah yeah it's wild to me when people do it yeah so yeah that was weird um now people are speculating they're like oh is this gonna uh prevent her from getting an Oscar now are people gonna be mad about this and they're not gonna vote for her I think the the deadline was like yesterday maybe I would have changed my vote too because I'm very petty yeah I'm petty too and I don't really give a shit if people get Oscars like it's not like oh no like it's not like gonna ruin their life I'm sorry yeah so I mean I heard also people were speculating too like the bride could hurt her chances because that's getting tagged oh yeah the bride got horrible reviews and they're like is that gonna affect it I mean I don't think I don't think it will no I think she's kind of the clearer favorite and I don't know that she hasn't even a close competitor at this point yeah I mean she's won the BAFTA she's won the Golden Globe and the actor award right the actor it's more could it be Michael B Jordan could it be Timothy Chalamet well we're gonna talk about him next because Timothy Chalamet also made headlines this week for something he said this is from KTLA last week Chalamet 30 appeared in a one-on-one sit-down with interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey at the University of Texas Austin the variety and CNN town hall discussion covered both actors careers and experiences but one particular moment may have missed many of the exact type of people he's hoping would award him his first best actor Oscar Oscar McConaughey and Chalamet's talk came around to a discussion about the trend of modern movies putting quote their biggest action set pieces up front in hopes of keeping short attention span audiences engaged both McConaughey and Chalamet lamented the loss of momentum building in film responding to this Chalamet said while he wants smart and patient cinema he also does understand this inclination by studios saying quote some people want to be entertained quickly i'm really right in the middle because i admire people saying hey we got to keep movie theaters alive we got to keep this genre alive somewhat jokingly Chalamet elaborated i don't want to be working in ballet or opera where it's like hey keep this thing alive even though no one cares about this anymore all respect to the ballet and opera people out there now that is a truly dumb thing to say why did he have to say i don't want to be working he doesn't he says it's basically like at least i'm not a ballerina or an opera singer because no one gives a shit about that anymore right it's a dead medium is what are you saying yeah i get that which you said i so he's saying they have to say let's keep this alive and it's like who gives a shit yeah where at least we want to keep it alive and people want us to keep it alive yes he's basically saying film has more value yeah then why did he see i don't think this quote makes it any better you're right it does it it actually is bad i haven't heard the whole quote no the quote is bad yeah it's bad i thought i thought when people were like it's not what he said i thought it was going to be something else and i was like oh this is just as bad no it actually is yeah it actually is slightly different words right um so i i still like i like ballet and opera there are lots of people who still like ballet and opera and it's obviously it's obviously not as many people who like film because film is just a more accessible medium um but i would say the people who like ballet and opera fucking love ballet and opera and it's obviously an art form worth keeping alive like it's crazy to think otherwise it's just there's no reason to disparage like once again why are you trying to take a shot at something that's already struggling exactly stay alive instead of helping to support those mediums that have nothing to do with what you're doing but also no competition to you and it's also but it's like dude can you really say it's like the film industry also is like in dire straits right now right we need to be championing champion i can never say it championing the hard work these mediums these artistic mediums like because look what's at stake here especially in the film industry like generative ai is taking a lot of jobs like you should be worried as an actor right and you know a generative ai is not going to take away opera and ballet yeah those are live because those are live events and it's like we need to be protecting these mediums we need to be protecting film we need to be protecting writing we be protecting live theater and ballet and opera i honestly it's distasteful to me when artists be smirch other art forms i agree i don't like it i don't like it's a necessary it's like we're the cool one right it's like why like it's decided around hundreds of thousands of years like more than you like many other art forms have been right film is very new they're all valuable yeah they're all valuable i also heard his mom is a is a ball as a ballerina like and his grandma yeah it's like that's even crazier to me it's like right it's just very ignorant it's ignorant it's a really ignorant statement and it just think as an artist like it is tacky it's it's an ugly statement they should have talked about when Matthew farted why didn't they talk about that that's important that was and it would have saved him all this grief if they had just focused on what's important because that's what the merchant i don't know how to end this segment our next story is this is a little darker but it is relevant to Los Angeles news because i'm sure you've heard of this but no ma the michaelin star restaurant yeah from copen hagan just was reading this dude crazy so this restaurant is been considered like the best restaurant in the entire world right a lot of people i follow who are like food influencers they'll always have a post where they go here at some point it's like a bucket list restaurant in copen hagan it's helmed by chef rene red red zippy and they made headlines here in la because they're doing a pop up in march march 11th where they're serving $1,500 a person dinner right and this caused a big stir because obviously people are like this is tacky that we have a fucking housing crisis here right like people are struggling people are struggling we can barely afford like it's just really nothing highlighted the wealth disparity more than that of course this $1,500 a person dinner sold out immediately there's plenty of wealthy people here yeah and everyone was excited for those who haven't been to noma to get a taste of this here right it's actually a deal you don't have to fly you don't have to fly to copen hagan look i'm not here to judge spending big bucks on food because i've spent i've never dropped this much on food before but no but it's a that's an area where we will spend our i will spend i will spend expendable money on food for sure now the bigger controversy to me right now is this new york times profiler piece that just came out alleging abuse from head chef rene red zippy the headline reads punching slamming screaming a chef's past abuse haunts noma the world's top rated restaurant now i found on reddit this person actually just gathered up like basically they broke down the point so i'm just going to read from this this is from the food Los Angeles subreddit these are some of the excerpts from this article because it's a long article yes is very but this is basically what is getting alleged On a February night in 2014 in the middle of a busy dinner at the acclaimed Copenhagen restaurant NOMA, the founding chef René Redzepi ordered the entire kitchen staff to follow him outside into the cold. He was shoving a sous chef shoving a sous chef really hard to say he was shoving a sous chef in front of him. A young man who had put on techno music, a genre Mr. Redzepi disliked in the production kitchen. Far from the dining room. Why is that so. Why is that so Copenhagen? (laughs) Techno music. He. Far from the dining room, it was where Unbade interns worked 16 hour days. Oh my God. Forming tasks like picking herbs and cleaning pine cones to adorn Mr. Redzepi's celebrated new Nordic dishes. Oh my God. Mr. Redzepi taunted the chef over and over as about 40 cooks in short sleeves and aprons form the usual circle around the two men. It was not the first time they had been forced to participate in a public shaming. Dude. Guy gathered all of his chefs in the snow outside to form a circle around him and this sous chef who was. Played techno music in an area that was like far away from the kitchen. Right. While he was working on his elaborate. Whatever. Decor for his meals. And he's created a public shaming event. This is crazy. Mr. Redzepi escalated the attack, punching his employee in the ribs and screening that no one would go back inside until the chef said loud enough for all to hear that he liked giving DJ's oral sex. What? Jesus, my God. His co-workers stood in silence until he breathlessly complied. Then they filed back into the kitchen and returned to work. This is. Outrageous. This is diabolical. Oh my God. And I've heard some bad chef stories before, but nothing like this level of insanity. They make a spectacle of it. This is like. These chefs are like. There are some of the worst egos in the biz. Like in the world, right? The episode was never mentioned again. Dozens of former employees described other violent punishments and said silence among the staff was customary afterward. Going to work felt like going to a war, said Alessia, now a chef in London, who was in that circle and asked that her surname not be used because she feared retaliation. Oh my God. You had to force yourself to be strong to show no fear. The Times has independently interviewed 35 former employees whose accounts trace a pattern of physical punishment. Mr. Redzepi inflicted on his staff between 2009 and 2017. They said. They said he punched employees in the face. Jab them with kitchen implements. Oh my God. And slammed them against walls. They described lasting trauma from layers of psychological abuse, including intimidation, body shaming, and public ridicule. Mr. Redzepi, they said threatened to use his influence to get them blacklisted from restaurants around the world, to have their families deported, or to get their wives fired from their jobs at other businesses. Oh my God. Then a chef in Australia who worked at NOMA in 2012 said that punishing all the employees for one person's mistakes was routine. He just went down the line and punched us in the chest. How does he think he can do physical violence against them? Do you know what I mean? Like not that the verbal abuse is any good, but like that's like crazy. It's next level. Well, yelling exploatives into their faces said the chef who asked that his surname not be used because he feared retaliation. Even the interns who had been upstairs picking elder flowers. When that is the wise is so like insane. The details are just like wild. When Mr. Redzepi wanted to discipline them, but there were other there were customers in the dining room. Several employees said he would crouch under the counters in the open kitchen and jab them in the legs with his fingers or a nearby utensil like a barbecue fork. He needs to be hospitalized. Like I have no this is something is wrong with this person. One former cook who requested anonymity because he feared retaliations at Mr. Redzepi had physically attacked him more times and he can remember during his time at Noma. He recalled that one night in 2011 Mr. Redzepi noticed he had left a tiny tweezer mark on a flower petal as he placed it onto a dish. Mr. Redzepi, he said grabbed the straps of his apron and slammed him against the wall, then punched him twice in the stomach. Some 30 employees said that being hit by Mr. Redzepi and by the senior cooks who ran the kitchen was routine. Oh my God. Here's the last paragraph I'm going to read one chef in London who worked at several Michelin star restaurants in Europe, save for a year and sold her car so that she could afford to take a job at Noma in 2013. She said she couldn't stop working long enough to eat and lost 40 pounds during the year. Oh my God. She also requested anonymity. One night she said Mr. Redzepi spotted her using a phone which was strictly forbidden during service. She recalled that she was using it to turn down the volume of the music in the dining room at a guest's request. Without a word, she said he punched her in the ribs hard enough that she fell against a metal counter and cut her lip on its sharp corner. She was on the floor bleeding and in tears she recalled, but no one said a word as she fled to the dressing room. When a sous chef eventually came to find her, she said he asked only if she was okay to return to work. She went back to her station and finished her shift and email exchange with her parents confirms that she shared the incident with them at the time. She said she worked the remaining month of her contract because she felt it was a privilege, especially as a Latina, to work at the world's best restaurant. Co-workers she said seemed to regard the violence as normal. I can imagine getting the ship beat out of you because you damaged a flower pedal. In like, I don't know where. Yeah. What is wrong with this person? Like he truly needs to not be in he needs to go he needs to be shunned. This is like he should not exist in society. Like this is crazy. This is I'm like in disbelief over this one. I don't I just don't even understand how you do that at all. Like I don't even understand having a one time incident where you hit someone out of nowhere. Yeah. But to regularly do it and then think it's like and publicly like yeah, as if it's normal. It's sick. And he's like I looked him up like I don't know what I thought he would look like, but he just looks like this normal guy. It's like it's just like so. It's not that I thought he would look like evil or something or like jafar or something like some villain. Yeah. But like he's just a normal dude. What how do you get to this level? I don't know. This is crazy. It's unacceptable. Anyway, enjoy your $1,500 plate dinner at the pop up. Certainly put a little damper on that. Like if I had purchased one of those, I would be a little hesitant about going after this breaks. It's I agree. I wonder if it had something to do with all this publicly coming out because that was such a big story. Yeah, 1,500 and it always seems like whenever something like that happens, it's like let's drop this too. We've been sitting on it. Right. Because it does seem coincidental. Yeah. And we're not saying at all that we disbelieve these stories. No, I'm saying I'm not saying that at all. But I'm saying sometimes it's like, we'll have about this. It's when someone will finally drop something they've been working on for a while. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Because everyone knows who it is now. Right. He's in the public conversation again. So I mean, and I did see in his Wikipedia that these stories had been coming around since 2015. Okay. So this makes sense. So I think that this timing makes sense. And then it finally just burst. Yeah. Because people probably were looking into him more. Because more people are knowing who this guy is now because he's and people feel more comfortable coming out of with allegations like this after they're further away from him. Yes. And have maybe established their careers still. Oh, yeah. So I got that as well. Like, yeah, this is crazy. I'm very curious to know if this is going to cause some people to not go to the dinner. I can't imagine everyone's going to. I would have dropped out. It's probably hard to get a refund at this point. So maybe it's soon. It's like next week. Yeah. The 11th is only a few days away. Oh, yeah. I'm going to keep, I'm going to stay on top of this story because this is very crazy to me. I don't think I've. I mean, outside of like Mario Battale, I don't think I've heard a story as bad. Someone treating employees and people with this much disregard. Right. Like, and we've heard other stories about chefs for sure. But this seems to be a chronic thing for many, many years, which is crazy. Yeah. Anyway, all right. We'll be right back. Desi. Yes. Like you said, I didn't think it was a serial year to year season all thing or whatever. I. I don't know. Eve, like, are they even going to get a season two? That's what I'm wondering. I'm just like, how are they going to get a season two? This show is so weird. I think that was my true fear because I was like, they're not getting season two. No. Like this was a one and done. Like they needed to end it. Dude, I'm not going to be mad now. And it's a big cliffhanger. Yeah. I mean, it's a pretty big cliffhanger. The only thing I can think is maybe I'll just forget about it. I'll probably forget about it. Now, I said last week, I can't recommend this show, but I did binge it essentially. Yeah. But I can't, it's a soft recommendation. It's not a hard one. It's like if you're desperate, try this out. Maybe maybe you'll see the humor and how horrible it is because it is bad. It's bad. It's bad, but it's just good enough that you keep wanting to watch it. It's like, that is what it is. It's like, I got to watch the next episode. And there were things in it that were campy enough. Some performances are good. The bad performances are so bad. You're kind of in disbelief watching them. And you, it's like addictive to see how much worse it's going to get. Because the bad performances are like, oh, it's, they're like, it's comical. It's comically bad. Yeah. And I'll just say it's Ashton Kutcher. Because he's not even a, people don't even like him anymore. It's pretty safe. He's terrible. He's so bad in this. It's literally like one of the worst performances I've ever seen. And I'm even including people who weren't real actors who got cast. Just like real people. He's worse than they are. Does he put it exactly? We had the exact same thought of what he reminded us of, like his, this performance. It's the guys in dolls high school production. It's the sky, Master's in. Right. He's trying to play this guy who has like charisma and like, but it reminds you of a 17 year old, like in a school play who don't get it at all. They don't like the hot jock who got the lead. Right. And he's doing what he thinks is acting, but it doesn't read because it's so, it's so performative. It's not really like internalized in any way. But that's also part of like why I'm hooked up. Why I got hooked on this show because it's like, you can't help it, but be like in the trees by how bad this is. The funniest part was because he has this bravado and that's in huge air quotes. The whole series are the whole season. And then at the end, he takes on like a more softer and I was like, what 80? He doesn't want 80, but that's just as bad in a different way. It makes no sense. Like I get like why, like they explain why, but it's still too drastic of a change. It's too drastic and he's nowhere near the actor to handle this transition period. Even if it made sense, but it just, he just turns into a sad puppy. All of a sudden, it's just so I was like, this is crazy. But yeah, it's so weird. It's very weird. It's, yeah. And it's gross too. It's very gross. There's a lot of gross moments for sure. There's a lot of fluids. It's still a lot of fluids. There's some pretty shocking moments too. I will say like when Evan Peters finally went through it, yeah, that was why are we doing this? We're not like it's, it's so Ryan Murphy. It's so Ryan Murphy. Right. Cause they're just throw it's like the, it has like a classic Ryan Murphy element where he's like, I'm obsessed with this kind of crazy weird thing. And I'm going to throw it in even though it makes sense like where he puts the girl with progiria. I was like, why are we even going down this road because you think it's funny or cool or like weird? Cause it made no sense. Yeah. Why do we have to go that far like? No, he just like, he just like goes there. Yeah. Something was like in the Edgain one where he just put things on. Like he's like, well, I'll never get to use this again. Let's just throw it in here. And I feel like he has that with the beauty as well. Yeah. Should throw this type of person in. The other show I started watching because I really, I'm kind of running out of stuff right now, but I started watching animal kingdom with Ellen Barkin and Sean had a sea. I see it a lot on Netflix promoted to me. Now I've always, I've always wondered like, should I? And I got to say, you're going to know exactly what I mean when I say this. It's very effects. It is effects. Oh, it is. Okay. It is, it's such an effects production. And it's very sons of Anarchy coded. Okay. But with surfers in California who are also criminals. Wait, why did I have no idea what the show is about? Okay. I'm like blown away that it's surfers. I thought it had to do with like an illegal exotic animal ring. I thought it was a family drama. An animal kingdom was like a metaphor or something. Yeah. Like what does animal kingdom mean? I don't know. I mean, I mean, it was based on a movie from Australia called animal kingdom. That's why. Right. But I don't know what it means in the movie either. Well, I've never seen the movie. Yeah. So I don't know what it means. It is a family. Ellen Barkin is the mom of these sons who are like bad boys. And she's like a bad grandma. Okay. Because there's also a brand of that. So that's very sons of Anarchy. It's so sons of Anarchy coded. It's just, you know, it's like sons of Anarchy make me point, break, point, break. Yeah. It's like sons of Anarchy in on the west side of LA. Okay. I'm curious. And instead of motorcycles, it's surfboards. Wow. I mean, they're not like surfing to like destinations to like, drop someone. But I'll pull up to a surfside bar with a gun. Yeah. But there's a lot of surfing and like a lot of beach shots and just like trashy people, but like FX trashy people. Yeah. Surfing is always an interesting theme for a TV or a movie. Like they're always try to squeeze it in somehow. And sometimes you're like, why? Yeah. What is, why is this necessary that they're surfers? Yeah. All the boys are surfers. It's very like, it's very like 80s to me surfing culture. Yeah. I mean, it's cool. Like, yeah, Ellen Barkin is so over the telekirk character. She's like, my boys, like she'll be like, my boys love to get fucked. So gross. My boys, they slid right out of my pussy when I was, when I had, but she's just kind of like every dialogue with her is just so over. That's your son. It's so over the top. And then I don't have something I'm binging right now because I just finished the beauty. And that's what I was kind of binging. And everything else I'm watching is like week to week, which is a no. Pit, the pit, love story and paradise. I'm not caught up on paradise. I started watching the latest episode last night, but I fell asleep. So I have to rewatch it. Yeah. I fell asleep during the third episode. Um, yeah. Do you like paradise the season? So far I do. Okay. I mean, they could pick it up. Cause I always get worried when I know a season is like eight episodes. And I'm like, I three. I'm like, okay, we need to get going because I don't, you know what I mean? Like it starts, you start getting a little nervous. Yeah. Kind of like the pit, dude. I was like, come on. Yeah. It's interesting. The pit, because Brendan has, he's been sick. He's, he's, he was rewatching the pit season one. And I was, I watched a couple scenes with him today. And I realized I'm like, the pit season one seemed like the stakes were a lot higher. Well, because we were in a stressful situation right, right, right away, almost from the, maybe by the second episode. They were, there was also a lot more moral dilemmas in the first season. And I feel like there was more interpersonal drama with the doctors and things that were happening. And there was just more tension running through. There was more tension with the tension with Santos being kind of cutting corners and like, what's going on with the pills and what's going to, there would just seem to be a, like a little higher stakes. I feel like even though I don't know what episode we're on six, 10, 10 or 10, nine, we just had episode nine. That's part of the problem. I feel like, I feel like I'm still in episode three land with the level we're at, because they keep threatening the cyber attack, this other hospital we've been hearing about the whole time, but nothing has ever come from it really in a major way. Yeah. It's, it's definitely slower. Look, it's still amazing. It's still good. It's just different. It's just a little different. It's different than season one. I am still loving it. I'm still excited week to week to watch it. And the actors are all still incredible. Right. I love the new nurse. Yes. The sort of charge person in charge. Oh, yeah. She's, she's, she's like, that's a good character. That's a great character. No, I agree. Everything's still very interesting. It just doesn't have the same heightened tension. It did season one. Yeah. That's missing. I think that's still good stories. But we have, but we ended on a, the big kind of event is happening next episode. It's all the news story, right? The what? The last episode ended with the story. Yeah. Yeah. And they're like, uh, oh, so that's exciting. What was the event? There's a water slide. Oh, right. Right. Right. Sorry. I'm excited about that. I'm excited. But yeah, I'm excited for that too. I'm just curious what, what it is going to be. Yeah. What's it going to be like? What's it going to be? I didn't have lemon juice in my eye. I didn't have any lemons. It was dark outside. So I didn't want to go like scrounging around my lemon tree, my my or lemon pick. I didn't want to go outside. Yeah. I just put a little vanilla in the apples with some sugar. Mm-hmm. It tasted very tart, tataan vibes. Because there wasn't a tartness from the lemon in the apples. I used honey crisp. Yeah. I like those. I don't know. I can't describe it. It just was like the perfect ratio. I mean, I don't really use recipes for crisps. I don't need those. They can be very different. I just had apples and I was hungry and it was like 11 p.m. And I'm like, I'm going to make a crisp right now. Crists are easy. They're so easy. And like, who doesn't like oats with brown sugar and butter? No. It's good. Yeah. It just came out really good. I think that sounds good. I want a crisp. Okay. We'll have a little bit left. I'm going to go to San Francisco next week. So I'm going to eat good when I'm there. Okay. I'm only going for a couple days, but I always eat good when I'm there. Because it looked really easy and sounded kind of healthy and it is healthy. So I don't know. I've always liked three-bean salad. Do you remember during the pandemic when I bought 15 bean soup? Oh yeah. So during that, during like the first week of the pandemic when everybody was just buying whatever groceries. Massive. People were buying the weirdest fucking groceries because like things were, everything was gone in the grocery store. Right. And like we didn't know. We didn't know what the fuck was going to happen. Like I, we didn't know. I got a bag of dried beans called 15 bean soup. It's 15 beans. And I made it. Yeah. I saw somebody on threads like a couple weeks ago making 15 bean soup. And I was like, you're made, that's a pandemic. That's a pandemic meal. But it did make me want to get it again. Well, it's like, I do, I do like beans, but I was like, do we really need 15? Well, there's not that much difference. At some point, I feel like seven's probably great. I just think it's remarkable. Now I have seen some that are 16 bean soup. Wow. That's what's the extra bean? Right. I want to, am I getting a bunch of different beans or it's like a bunch of different white beans where they're all kind of the same. Yeah. You know, there's a lot of lentils. Lentils are in lentils. It's all, they're gums. They're counting lent, it's all the gooms. Yeah. Lentils. Split peas. Yeah, there's split peas lentils. I kind of want split peas. Maybe I love split peas soup. I'm a fan. Big ham hocks. It's so good. Now I want that. I want split pea soup. Split pea soup. Split pea soup. Yeah. That sounds good. It's hot outside, but I do want it. Dude, I hate this winter. This winter sucks. The, this winter is a fail. Well, I thought it was good when we had a rain. That's different, but why is it 90 degrees? Now it's 90 degrees. I'm just saying in general, outside of the rain, which we get every winter, this winter was a fail. This winter was a flop. It was a flop winter. We did not get enough cold for me. Yeah. Cause I just feel like I just started saying it's almost cold enough for beans for soup beans, bean soup. And now we're already like, well, it's too hot for soup. Well, it's too hot for soup because now we're in springtime. I'm going to push that further. I know spring technically starts like the 21st or something. We never got winter. That's what I'm saying outside of that one. A few time, a few, a few nights where we got to, we got to, it got cold. It got cold. But it was all long. Don't lie. This was a bad winter. Okay. You could, of course, we had a few times it was cold. I enjoyed no rain over Christmas. No extended here. I enjoyed those week long rain sessions we had very much. Yeah. That was our only good time. I like more of those. Please me too. I don't understand what people complain about the rain here because it's feels special when we get it. It is very special. So I just would have liked it to be in the 50s more. Okay. The past few weeks, it's been very warm and I'm not ready. I'm not ready for summer dressing. Let me just say that. Absolutely not. I still want to wear long sleeves. It's annoying and pants.
