Welcome to the New Year: Community & 'That Girl' Mindset If you want to glow up in the quickest way possible, then you've come to the right place. Today I'm going to be rapid fire ring ways to glow up. I made a whole list physically, mentally, if you want to glow up, this is the place. Welcome back to the Real Talk podcast. I'm your host Nikki Patton, and let's get into the chaos. Hey guy, welcome to or welcome back to the pod. Welcome to Real Talk to you guys. I am so excited. This is the first freaking episode of the new year and it's going to be a good one. OK, Trust this is going to be so good. If you guys are new here, welcome to Real Talk Pod guys. I'm so excited we hit three times growth last year and I just see this podcast going crazy. Like I, my whole dream is to just have this community and family online with you guys. And it feels so special to like read comments every week and like reply to you guys and just have this safe space for me and for you. Like literally like I feel so safe and happy here doing this And it's literally like my passion. So I see this podcast going crazy this year. Like my goals are to literally get more guests on here and like people from social media and people not from for me, like my friends. I also want to have like other creators on the pod and literally just like make it so fun. Like I don't know how I'm like still strategizing and thinking, but I want to make this year go crazy with this podcast. I'm so grateful for anyone who's already listening and been listening. Like thank you so much. If this is your first podcast episode, you're hearing from me. Welcome, bestie Moo. If you want to glow up, you can become that girl right now. OK? There's no waiting. There's no Oh my gosh, like I need to wait for this to happen and I need to wait till I achieve this. And that is such a misconception with glowing up. And I think a lot of people wait to become like this version of themselves. They wait to like, feel like they are the best version of themselves. But The thing is, you can be that person today. And so I'm really excited for this episode. And yeah, make sure if you're not all ready to follow the podcast, it's on Spotify, Apple. I also post every video on YouTube. So subscribe to the YouTube. And all my socials are Nicki Patton. Reorganize Your Phone for Clearer Mindset & Productivity And let's just get into it. Yeah. Also, if you know anyone that would enjoy this, send this to a friend. OK, let's get into it. I made a list on my phone. I take this very seriously of ways that you can glow up and ways that I've used last year to glow up. I feel like I did a good amount of glowing up last year, but I still feel like I have things that I'm so excited for and so proud of myself for starting for this year. And I'm so excited. So I'm going to put the mantra down for a second and we are going to get into ways to glow up. All right, here we go. OK, I'm in a whole list of my phone of ways that I have personally glown up and ways that I'm going to glow up this year. And this is everything. This is mental, physical, like everything that you can think of. So I've just put some notes together and let me know in the comments what your glow up tips are. OK, bestie Boo, because I need, I need as many as we can get. We need to be our hottest selves. OK? There's no time to be in our flop era anymore. OK first one is reorganize your phone. This is so underrated. I feel like we really underestimate how much our phones like affect us. And I've been seeing a lot of people talk about doing a social media cleanse, cleaning your for you page. Like literally like I have forced myself to only watch like glow up mindset shift content so that I'm getting fed that everyday and I feel like I'm learning at least when I doom scroll. I've just been trying to make sure my 4G page is educating me making me my hotter self. Also I have personally created a focus mode which you can do in Apple. You can kind of like customize your phone. So I mute like all notifications throughout the day. I also only have my productive apps on my phone home screen. I think this is so crazy underrated if you want to stay consistent and productive because it doesn't let me get as distracted. And also, if you've never organized your phone and you just have apps everywhere, you don't realize how much mental clutter you're carrying and it really can help to just reorganize your phone. Vision Boards to Reality: Pursue Dreams, Overcome Fear Another tip I have is to make your background, your vision board. I did this last year, all of last year, and it really makes you kind of look at it every single day. It's super helpful. And yeah, I'm really excited because I haven't made my vision board yet for this year. And I'm like so excited because this year I'm just going to push myself to have like the craziest goals ever because what's the harm in that? Literally what's the harm in aiming too high? There is none. And you guys don't realize that like literally anything is possible. Like literally anything is possible. And it's crazy because the limits that you put in like being realistic and this and that are put on by you. You decide what's realistic for yourself. If you feel like your dreams are unrealistic, you know that that is someone else's voice in your head, OK? Because actually anything's possible. And it's crazy the world we live in now, like how easily things can change for you. And so if you're being told that your dreams are unrealistic, like you can tell that person to stay in their own box because we literally create the box that we live in. You literally create what is realistic and not realistic based on what you believe and how hard you work. So yeah, I just think that that's a really important point. Like, you can make your own goals and you can reach high, and you can always make bigger goals for yourself. And don't let people try to tell you that they're not possible, because they always are. They always are. And when people try to tell you things are unrealistic, it's them trying to confine you to the own box they've created in their mind. And we all create boundaries for ourselves. Like we all decide what's real and what's not and what's possible and what's not. So listen to yourself and you have that dream for a reason. I always think this is so interesting. I feel like you have dreams put on your heart for a reason. And when someone told me that last year, it literally changed everything for me because I've always wanted to do music in some way. I've I've had like smaller goals like where I wanted to make more makeup videos for social media and like things that things that I was just telling myself this isn't possible for you. And I'm just going to push that and push through that because literally last year everything changed when I just went to a music studio for the first time and I wrote a song for the first time and I am putting that song out in a couple weeks. And it's crazy because it's like that all happened in the span of three months. Like, you know, like people don't put out people, like work on music for years and don't put it out. And I just feel like I'm really proud of myself for diving into something that scares me. And, you know, you can never control how people receive what you make, but you can make it. And another thing I have to say is would you rather put your art out there and be judged or would you rather never been hurt at all? Because if you're too scared to put yourself out there, bestie Boo, you are literally choosing the second option to never be heard. And I think that's way scarier than putting yourself out there. Because I think my biggest fear is not making an impact on people. Like that's my whole dream in life is to be someone who makes an impact. And like, that's actually scarier for me. You know, I was able to do social media, but music always felt so scary. And then I was like, would I rather never have my art heard at all? Like that is so much worse. And also there's so many types of everything out there nowadays. You don't have to be scared because you're gonna get judged. You're gonna get judged. I think that is so important to just like accept people are gonna judge you no matter what you put out. There's nothing that is objectively perfect 100% when it comes to art or your dreams or anything. Nothing's perfect. Some people are gonna like like it and some people are not gonna like it. And that's kind of the beauty of the whole thing because it's literally subjective and there's so many forms of beauty and art out there that like, it's beautiful that not everyone's going to like your stuff and it's a privilege to get judged because at least you're out there. So that's what I've been telling myself. I've been so scared to put out a song, but I'm just like, what am I scared of? Like I was the same way with putting out singing covers at 1st and now I'm just like, this is what you need to do. You know, this is like the service that you do to yourself is letting yourself be heard and putting yourself out there because you never know what can come from it. And I think if you have good heart and good intentions and you believe in yourself and you put yourself out there, you get rewarded. You get rewarded because like, I think about being too scared to move to LA when I moved here and like, literally, I was instantly rewarded. It was the biggest step I've ever taken. I really put myself out there. I really, like just trusted that things were gonna work out for me. And I was fed like all of my best friends, like just through coincidence. And it's it's crazy because it's like you, I promise you are more protected than you think. And the more you put yourself out there and do things that scare you, the more it will be rewarded. Like it's literally it. It's just, I know it. Vision Board with Receipts: Become 'Her' Through Consistent Action OK, OK, so OK, this one's really important. Don't just vision board and hope it comes true. Vision board with receipts. This is crazy. I didn't realize like how there was like a wrong way to vision board before, but I was doing it wrong. I was just putting things on a board like final results like the the the, the bougie lifestyle and the million, the 1,000,000 plaque. And like I would just put things on a board and forget about them for the rest of the year and just hope they came true. You need to vision board where you start to shut. What am I trying to say? You need the vision board where you are recording every time you show up for yourself, make the vision board, but then also start to document every time you do something that works towards that because that builds momentum. OK, You need to just change something sometimes to build momentum. And like last year for me, it was running like I really want to start running. I really want to start working out consistently. And everyone says that, you know what I mean, But I literally like would go outside every morning, even if like it was for different lengths, even if I only ran for like 5 minutes, even if I only ran for like 20 minutes, I would record myself on that run every single morning. And it, it was proof to myself. Like I'm doing it like I'm literally showing up for myself. And it built momentum. Like I didn't want to miss a video because every day I was documenting me showing up for myself. And that's how you're going to get from point A to point B. That's how you're going to get from I really want this to come true to it's literally happening and showing up in my life. Document every time you act like the best version of yourself and just decide today that you are going to start being her. I think that that's so important. There's no perfect time to start. We wait for so long and we wait to feel inspired and we wait to feel motivated and we wait to feel like it's the right time before we do things that we really, really, really want to do. And we do things that in like before we do things that we're dreaming about. We wait for this right time. And The thing is, Bessie Boo, there is no right time. You need to decide today that you were going to become her. You need to decide today that you, I think my cat's gonna try to open my door. You need to decide today that you are just going to commit to being the version of yourself that you dream about. Because you don't just wake up one day and become the best version of yourself. Like you have to consciously decide that you are going to act like her every single day until it's literally built into your system to be that person and the opportunities and the results will come after that. But it's everyone thinks that you get these opportunities and you do these cool things and you get validated by everybody and then you feel like that girl that will never happen in that order. You need to decide right now you are that girl. You need to validate yourself, make yourself feel safe, make yourself your home, and start doing little things every day that the best version of you would be doing. And that's literally how you become her. Quick Tips: Glowing Skin, Digestion, and Mental Clarity So yeah, that felt like that felt sparkly and good. OK what else? I'm going to rapid fire some of these because I just kind of went off OK Drink hot water. This one's so real. Drinking hot water with lemon changed my life. I love it. And if you struggle with, I don't know, I just think it helps with like digestion and like it's just it feels good and it's good for your body to drink hot liquids. So that is definitely something I recommend. Also just feels like little mini luxuries in life when you like drink hot water with lemon. Like I love I'm obsessed with mini luxury TikTok. Like there's little things you can do every day that don't cost a lot, but they feel luxurious and I am obsessed with that. And one of them is like waking up and drinking a cup of hot water with lemon before bed, a hot water with lemon, a tea, maybe like those things literally just like, I don't know why I feel like they're just like beauty secrets. Like they just make your skin glow. You're hydrated, the lemon helps you like digest. It's just like really good. So I would recommend that if you want it to taste better, lemon honey in hot water, so good. Also just like tea works and probably has more benefits. I also like to do a smoothie with ginger, lemon and Greek yogurt. And I add those things to anything. So I'll add like berries or spinach or whatever I want to add. But if you add ginger, lemon and Greek yogurt, it'll help you go up because the Greek yogurt is literally protein. And so that's like Gaines. And then the lemon and ginger helps you with like digestion. So it's just like literally a great combo. And I like to add it to everything. So that's like my little mini smoothie hack. OK, Apply skin care. Like you mean it. I literally have like become friends with so many skin care girls since I've been in LA because like I go to these events and I talk to all different types of creators. And a lot of the times they're beauty events, these skin care girls do not play like they won't be like having some sort of facial mist with them at all times or like, or like just apply skin care like crazy. And now when I'm home, I find myself just like picking up like snail mucin or like anything that I have like Korean skin care lying around. I have like a whole routine. And now I'm just like putting on hyaluronic acid in the middle of the day, putting on snail mucin like, and my skin feels like it's been glowing. So that's a little, that's a little life hack. I literally used to only put on skin care at night, and now I just kind of like, reapply it when I can. And it really does help. So yeah, that's something that you should consider. OK Go outside at least twice a day. I think this is really important. And I'm a girl that loves to get my steps in. I love going on walks. I love it. But I've noticed that if I break it up into little sessions, like I walk in the morning or I walk in the evening, or I do both, like I'm getting all my steps in without it feeling like hard and it's just like a little life hack. I like it a lot. I love my outside. I'm also clear your freaking head girl. If you're overthinking, go touch grass. Literally literally go touch grass. Like it helps if you can't stop thinking about something or if you're stressed or anxious like you know that phrase anxiety can't hit a moving target. I will literally just start sprinting if I feel anxious like I'll go outside and Sprint because it's true. It helps you just like get out of your body, take a deep breath and just recover. And I feel like the walks really help with helping your mood stabilize and just feel in touch with things. And we just do them scroll way too much. OK, bestie, it's time to just go outside and touch the grass. And making it a goal like twice a day makes it a lot less scary. And you don't have to be outside for as long. It's just like, it's good to just incorporate into your routine. And if you break it up into multiple walks, you get your steps in without even realizing it. So it's kind of like a life hack. Community Shout-Outs, Music Release, and Future Episode Teasers We are going to do something that I love to do, which is to read a review of the podcast because I appreciate you guys so much. Every time you write a review, it means the absolute literal world to me. So I'm just gonna read 1. Oh my gosh. OK this one's from Aaliyah and Oh my gosh it was literally so recent. It was on Friday. It says OMG Nikki if you are reading this I'm gonna go crazy. I just recently found your pod and I've been hardcore binge listening and it's helped my confidence so much. I love all the times you mentioned manifesting. So I'm gonna manifest that you're going to read this in your next effort. Wait, that's crazy. How? Whoa. I also make my very first vision ward to start out the new year. Love your biggest fussy Boo. Wait, why am I like, I have the chills like you literally just manifested that. That's crazy. OK, I love you so much, Aaliyah. And thank you for listening and thank you for being here. And I just love you guys so much. Like I don't think you understand. Like this makes my heart feel golden every time I record an episode. And it's my dream and it's just so cool. OK, I will talk to you guys in the next one. I have a bunch more mindset shifts, so stay tuned for next episode and let me know what you guys want to see next. And also always you can leave me a voicemail at speakpipe.com/bestie. Sometimes I do episodes where I just fully play voicemails from you guys and respond to them. And I haven't done one in a while, so maybe I should do that. Tomorrow I am taking cover, a cover photo, doing a cover shoot for my song. So I have a cover photo and it's going to be really cool. There's a really cool theme to it. And I ordered everything and it's coming tomorrow. And then I'm going to do that and then I'm going to upload my song and then my song will be coming out in a couple weeks, which is so crazy. I love you guys. Life feels so crazy and good and I hope you guys are setting goals that scare you this year because that's what it's about. And literally like that's the whole point. You have to be a little scared. I'll talk to you guys in the next 1 and I love you best EBU get ready to listen to some music by me and make sure of all the pod. I'll talk to you next one. What? Love you guys. This year is gonna be good. I can literally feel it. I'm tingling, I said, tangling, not tinkling. By the way, Caleb, you guys?
