ep25 - Fast Break Road to Playoffs - Triple Threat mixed rare packs

[Music] Hey everyone, this is Curry Steph. This is under the Hoops Nambia Topshop Podcast. Welcome to episode 25. Today I just want to go into a little bit of fast break with the next run happening right now and we've also got a triple threat which is three different sets in a pack that you can reserve coming up right now and a few other observations that I have. So firstly fast break road to the playoffs is what it's called the 15 days it ends on April 14th. There's different packs for eight and 12 wins so obviously if you get to 12 wins you have the highest chance of getting a rare and there's also daily pricing various rare you can win if you come first and if you're in the top 20 second to 25 you can get the follow icon quick rip. So there's always you know incentives to try and win each day if you have spare players I suggest pushing for that if you're looking good by the end of the run. You know so far there's a lot of people who've got three wins I've already made a loss. I had a incredible run last fast break where I was 13 to 15 to 15 and I lost the last two but this time on the second day I didn't get the free throws needed I got the three pointers but the John Tamari missed one and Jason Tatum decided not to go to the line so unfortunately two of three at the moment just scraped in today with the rebounds and steals switched from a bonus to Dearen Fox on the last game because I was looking very good for rebounds and I needed more steals so the way that fast break happens now you can switch out players that the games haven't started so there's always flexibility later on in the day which I suggest you're using if you're you're short on players or if you need to fill a certain stat for those days definitely switch switch out your player to the one that would be more suitable so that worked out well for me I got took a bonus output in Fox and I got three steals so two are three so far so we're trying to get to 12 wins if you are still three of three and you're in the survivor so there's a prize for the person who lasts the longest in the run so the first survivor is a Nicole Yogic legendary and the second chance survivor which I think starts halfway through is a hurry of being legendary fellow wife on both from this season so well a lot of incentives I love length fast break it's easy I've got a few hollows lots of breads so lots of flexibility in my lineup if you are in the discord fast break chat there's a link to a person called D-Barry12 who's got a Google sheet which imports your moments so you're able to plan out the 15 days to suit what you have because obviously as you know comments one use rare's two uses and legionaries you can use them four times so especially if you have more that more rare's and legionaries you really want to make use of those in the right days so shout out to D-Barry12 came in really useful for me last run I think helped get me to almost a perfect run so yeah fast break this is the last one before playoffs I'm not sure if they're going to do it again after that because obviously the teams are limited and you know we've got a different dynamic than less games etc so yeah good luck to all those out there doing fast break so I just want to go to the next upcoming drop which is a triple threat hack so these are a bit different they're a mixed pack so you can get throw downs for the win and video game numbers and I think these are going to be the last moments for all of these sets so some really great moments in this drop actually I think the challenging thing before I get into it is that some people collect one set some collect two and maybe if you collect all three you're okay with this but there is a challenge with you know these mixed drops that you don't know everyone collects video game numbers not everyone collects throw downs etc so in itself it has its own challenges with this pack and maybe top shot like sense or experimenting with these mixed drops with the video game numbers in this pack drop coming up I think the price is $55 so I think I've opted a bit just because that rest set is very popular and it's rare than the others so let's get into the details of this drop so video game numbers so we've got Nicole the Yoggid's Challenge reward and the five moments you can get from this drop got Janus answer to Kumpo it's a 42 13 13 rebounds game you've got the Carl Anthony Towns this has been a famous game I think from the season so 62 point game where he was kind of getting fed the ball and he ended up getting taken out I think in the third or fourth quarter because he was he was going to the Kobe's record or just being stupid you know Carl Anthony Towns he kind of lacks a bit of maturity when you just see how he acts on the court and just acts in general and so he lost the wolves lost that game in a 62 point game kind of similar to I guess recently Brunson lost his 60 point game for the spurs although Brunson's a lot generally usually more efficient but in saying that now that I think about the Brunson game where he got 60 points just now also wasn't any special he just had took a lot of shots so yeah it's always a little bit of a sour taste when you score over 60 and lose so yeah that's a 21 the Jalen Brunson video game numbers that they do have here because he did that after this release I think it was a 42 8 game still pretty special Bradley Beale probably his best game this season he's kind of been injured a lot and in and out of kind of his kind of level of play as well as his injuries have caused him to kind of be quite inconsistent but of course when he returned to Washington he turned it on I think he got over a 40 point game so that's his video game numbers so you know if you're a wizards fan or Bradley Beale fan probably the moment you'd like to have because of the return to where he was and it was quite a good performance and then you got the Desmondas Sabones video game numbers 2020 triple double he's been he's on track to beat the record for the most double doubles in a season probably the most underrated person of the season didn't make the all star and he's been very consistent all year for them and been very good so you know I think he deserves all NBA 13 in my opinion but some might disagree so we got the next one is for the win so another five moments and then you've got the Kyrie Irving Challenge Award so this is must have for me I was watching the Dallas Mavericks game so I have to do this challenge this nice little hook shot left handed over Yokech to win it is quite an incredible shot I don't know it's one of you know Kyrie Irving there's quite a bag of tricks it's amazing for handles and shooting and this was pretty special so I think if this game winner Spencer Dinwitty he's got the block on Lillard to stop the game time but ironically the master for the win which I'll get to in a bit is another game Lillard game winner for the box at this time he went for the win and Dinwitty said no so nice late this moment there we got Bam out of Bayo this was kind of a desperate attempt whether he'd the end a very nice moment there was a few game winners that day they had to pass back to Bam who was at the top of the three-point line and who's not typically known for three-pointers and he was able to nail it and win the game which is pretty cool you've got Zion Williamson, Pelicans, right at the end, rebound as a pass break opportunity Zion kind of cut through sprinted through the key with three people around him and got the layup And that was the last point to secure the win there. So that was a great game. The bank arrow was also a game winner. Can't recall exactly who that was against, but you know, another game winner which I like. And then we've got Paul Reed. So kind of the defensive game winner, Jonathan was going in, is trying to get to overtime, pushing it to the paint, and Paul Reed locked him, locked on of the Mitchell. So sort of Mitchell was playing probably very well. First half of the season, got injured, hasn't really come back since. And then, you know, we've got a few of these people who kind of fallen off the radar a bit, Haliburton and SGA lately as well. It's just kind of being a bit flat. But I digress so the last in this mixed pack, triple threat pack is the throwdown. So the challenge reward is a Shengoon, nice dunk there. Got a mother and a dunk. We've got John Collins. Quite a nice moment, he catches an L.U., he kind of head locks the Ombo, and kind of throws him down, and he dunks it and throws him into the ground. Quite funny to watch. Got Jalen Sugs. He's a great, you know, Orlando Magic Defense moment. And it's kind of funny at the end of this moment, Gary Hart, Harris is being a bit silly. So take that out. Kobe White, he dropped 37 on this game, and he had a nice cross over and passed Harrison Barnes. So Harrison Barnes is a top shot quick. I wonder if he'll be buying this one. And the last moment out of these 15, is a Carl Pusmeis. It's a nice baseline cutting dunk to get that one. So those are the 15 moments. Now we're going to go to the blog and just have a bit of a read about the details. So as you know, you can reserve now at the moment, it's about 5,000 packs. But we'll just quite a lot. It's only the 7,000 reservations. So they will be sold. And probably by the time the drop ends, you're probably looking at about 50% hit rate. So if you reserve 10, you're probably going to get five, et cetera, et cetera. You do have a 50% chance of getting a second rare. And you have one rookie debut as well and then three base. So you know, it kind of averages out to be around $36 or per rare based on that. So typically most of these rare. For the throw downs and for the win, especially around $20 with some of the key players going to 30 or 40 on this and Kevin Durant was a bit special because he doesn't have many rare. So yeah, it's going to be interesting to see what the market does. I'm going to get a few of these packs, but also I'm not collecting video game numbers and clicking the other two. So you can see what I'm planning to do. I'm just going to try and trade off those video game numbers or just sell them the marketplace depending on the price. But yeah, it'll be a bit of an undercutting bananza. So that's why I kind of, I don't think it's a bad thing to skip this one because I think there'll be a lot of undercutting people who don't want certain sets. We just be ready to dump. So yeah, that's why I see happening. So I'm not that keen to get a lot of these packs for that reason. And I don't think the marketplace will support that in the pack marketplace. So as I said before, the expert rewards have been announced. So for the win, saying Lillard, the throw downs will be probably the dunk of the year, which is a nice Anthony Edwards dunk over John Collins. So Anthony Edwards moments are very nice to collect because they're always amazing dunks, amazing blocks. So the expert challenge is Anthony Edwards for throw downs for the video game numbers expert challenge. So these expert challenges, as you don't know, you have to collect all the moments and then submit them. It will be a Luka donchage 50 points, 15 assists, four steals and three blocks at Christmas, where you also reach 10,000 career points and the fastest player to do so. So there's generational players out there that have come now after LeBron and Victor Wimbenjama, obviously, but Luka donchage is also very special. So he's on a course to become one of the best players, whether he gets the rings is yet to be seen, but he's very good to watch and very good player. So again, as you've probably seen, I'm quite late into this, the leaderboards for burning for cereals have already happened. Some of the player moments, some of those leaderboards have already happened, not all players feature in those leaderboards, only certain players you can burn. And then we've got the crate and pack leaderboards still to come. So, you know, pack leaderboard is all, there's trying to get a pack as always, worth hanging out for, so if you can get one, there's always competitive leaderboards. So, unless you're a super fan of one of these players, I tend to avoid them these days, and I don't have, depending on what the type of rank you need, I don't have the moments to compete either. So, that's happening at the moment. There's also the air drops. I won't go into too much detail about that, but you can check to see if you've got a player or 10 air drop. I saw that I, again, got another one, a poor read, with 76's air drops, so I think I'm very lucky to have that many. As again, I've said, I'm in the kind of top competing and I've done all the team sets, and that's the only reason why I think I have a chance of getting one of these air drops, but the ones at the top have way more top shot score, and I hope that it gets revised. So, that's about it for the team and player leaderboards. Check out the link on the blog if you want to see if you've been lucky to get something there. The last thing I want to touch on is just, I guess, looking at the moments that are selling the most, you can see that LeBron's legendaries and key moments are the ones that are always going to sell well and often, they're the most liquid moments. The Wembee moments have done really well from rookie revelation. We're seeing them, Wembee hovering around 10 grand, jets around three and a half. You can get into a Wembee rare or legendary, I strongly advise it, he is kind of the future of NBA. And it's also good to see just, I guess, healthy market in general. I'm competing on quite a few offers for some of the rookie legendaries from other seasons. I see a healthy competition on offers for S1 Legendary. If you go to the market and have a look at the Holo MMX or the Cosmix, for the players that stand out, I'm not talking about Beombo or some of the others that do have legendaries in these sets, but I'm talking about the good players. There's quite a healthy competition. I feel like there's a bit of injection of money into the market and that's reflected. The rookie revelations have been hovering around those packs themselves being hovering around $2,400. If you go to moment mob.com, I think the EV is around $17 or $1,800. So you are kind of taking a risk to buy a Wembee, he's one in 15 packs to get one of his revelations. So it's really high risk of high reward. If you're unless you're a whale, I would stay clear. You can go to spend your money at the moment, but some people just want to have that chance at the Wembee. So it's up to you. But I think just a general observation, the market is looking quite healthy. We have kind of a good rhythm with Rez and popularity of legendaries. A lot of them have gone up, Anthony Edwards, SGA, all the top players, you can see that they've gone up because of fast break, maybe because of people have a bit more cash to spend and compete. But I think generally the observation is that we're looking quite good in the top shot world, I think, compared to a year ago. I don't see much negative sentiment, but maybe I'm not looking too much, but I'm really excited to get into play-offs now. We're getting the last places for the play-in and playoffs. sorted. The west is still competitive right from the bottom of the top. We don't know who will be first see we don't know who will be in the play-in and who will be in the playoffs. So last couple weeks we'll be exciting to finish off with the pass break and also the positioning of the teams. Hopefully your team is there and looking forward to what's around the corner.
