This is an iHeart podcast, Guaranteed Human. The best part of a Whitetail sit is often the part you have to earn. The temperature drops, nothing's moving, and climbing down starts sounding pretty good. The difference between seeing it through and climbing down early is about heart, but it's also about heat. That's why first light built whispered down. With 900 fill power, muscovy down, box bathful construction, and quiet water resistant fabric, it delivers serious warmth without weighing you down. First light whispered down, pack light, stay longer. Check it out now at FirstLight.com. Welcome to Mediter Trivia, the only game show where conservation always wins. There is a prize. Mediter will donate $500 to the conservation organization of the winners choosing. I'm your host Spencer Newarth, and today we're joined by Janis, Brody, Randall, Mark, Riva, and Nick Glenn. This is a 10 round quiz show with questions from Mediter's Four Verticals, which are hunting, fishing, conservation, and cooking. Can I give you, ask a question, sorry. Use to give Randall top billing. I feel like I changed it up a lot. Do you? I don't know. I feel like Randall had top billing, then. But then sometimes I'm like, I think I'm overcorrecting. I'm like, why? I had Randall as the first name a lot recently, so now he's got his year's bump down to like fourth billing. I thought you've always done it by seniority, because I was actually, when you gave me my list of guests for my show later today, I tried to rank them by who's been here the longest. And I always thought that's why my name came first, when you used because you're, you're the headlines. You're famous, man. Yeah. No, because I'm employee number one, you're employee number. Yeah. Steve or myself. Mediter Trivia is brought to you by one of my favorite beers, Bush Light, whose light head for the mountains. All right, Nick. This is your first time on the show. That's why you were the last name. Tell folks what you do here at Mediter. I am the social media video editor. Okay. Closer to the mic, Nick. Oh, sorry. Social media video editor. That means when a really funny video of, like, Randall comes out, you're the guy back there on the ones about you today, making sure that it's really fun for that. Yeah. Shootin', editing. Everything. Okay. Everything you see. Strengths and weaknesses when it comes to Mediter Trivia, haunting, fishing, conservation cooking. What do you think? Well, I am a first-generation hunter. If you, that's what it's called. I don't know now. Okay. So, still figuring it all out, hunting-wise, but very confident, fishing, fresh water, mostly saltwater, but fishing forward. Nick yelled across the hallway this morning from his office to my office that he got his driver's license yesterday, so now he's going to own a deer tag in Montana this year. Yeah, hopefully. It's all happening. Look out deer and elk. No, fast, seriously. You got your driver's license. You got your driver's license back. Got a driver's license. Nice. In the state of Montana. In Montana. Oh, oh, oh, oh. I thought you just didn't know how to drive. Figure it out. And today with a mailbag question, if you have a question, you want the trivia crew to answer the send your question with the subject line mailbag to [email protected]. This is from Stevena, Minnesota. When going out to hunt public land, I was wondering if the crew had any odd peculiar things that they take into consideration. For example, I hunt a lot of public lands in Western Wisconsin. One factor I consider is whether the packers are playing that day. Bonus if it's against a division opponent or primetime game. Another is that this small Minnesota town I hunt by has a weekly community event and I try to hunt whenever this is going on. My assumption is that potential hunters will be busy tending to these things, watching the packers are going to this community event. I'm not sure if these factors really matter though, but I think it's working so far. All right. What do we think for Steven? I think that's smart. What he's doing and what he's thinking about. I mean, I always just look at shitty weather. Like, I like the shitty weather days because most other people don't. Or like the good bad weather where it's like November 10th, it's 70 degrees and everyone's like, oh, you can't, you know, the deer aren't moving now. Good point. Yeah. So the good bad weather. Same thing. Cat, Gris game in Montana. It's a good one. There you go. It's also good because you can stop by local bars like mid afternoon and they might have a full spread set out. Okay. If you're able to holidays are good to Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day is an excellent time. Yep. There's been some studies done by Auburn University, Dr. Steven Ditchcock. He talked about this and other podcasts before, but that Thursdays are the best days of the week on public land. That's when deer movement is the most normal. Saturday and Sunday, they get pounded Monday, Tuesday, they're recovering Wednesday. That's like creeping back to normal and then Thursday is like the most normal that it gets out there. Not anymore. Well, yeah. We've now ruined it. Thanks. You know, this is like the fifth podcast that's been set on, but it's just, you know, good advice in general. Thursdays are when the studies show that deer on their feet the most, anything else for Steven and Minnesota? All right. Good luck, Steven. All right. Before housekeeping today, Randall is going to give us a live tour of date. Randall, what's happening with the live tour? It's canceled. No, it's actually, it's, it's on. It's on. Oh, I don't think Fargo has any tickets left. I got to go back. My phone's an airplane mode. I checked on who's playing Monday night football and it's screwed everything up. Okay. So live tour, Grand Rapids, Michigan, December 14th, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the 15th Madison Wisconsin, I don't need to say the date every time the following day, Des Moines, Iowa, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota, who you most excited for, pick one. Don't be like, well, they're all fine. I love everybody. Um, you know, I'm very excited for Milwaukee and Madison. I mean, I just think good. That's our people. Okay. I mean, they're all our people, but Milwaukee, I think just Wisconsin, Wisconsinites are different breed. I feel like we have a lot, we have a lot of love in the house. For Wisconsinites. Yeah. Which stuff you most excited for? Hmm. I mean, Grand Rapids will be good because that, you know, hometown pretty much, you know, 45 minutes from where I grew up. And so we'll have a warm welcome there. Um, yeah. I don't know. I'm sorry, Spencer. They're all going to be great fun. Yeah. Phil has been scouting Tiki locations already. I mean, that's sure. That's why Milwaukee is the site. I have a board here. There's a bar there called foundation that I have not visited. Yeah. There's also a sauce. Do you want to take all of us? I have wrecks for everyone's invited. Okay. Everyone in the crowd. You're invited too. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. So shut it down. Is it you singers? I don't know. I have to check. I get you. I'm out again. No, I don't want to do that. I feel like that's boring. Media. The mediator dot com slash events. Uh, go on there to find your tickets. Don't go to these weird reselling sites where they jack up the prices. I've seen. In the comments on all of our social media, I've seen some people saying they got charged X amount. They got charged Y amount. Go directly to the website. I'll take you to the venue, whatever, whatever, follow trusted websites when buying tickets. Okay. Randall, say Randall's the secondary market, actually. Was that sufficiently? You did it. You did it. Good, good, good. Now we have some real housekeeping. On a previous episode of trivia, I had a question about the 10 letter word for the small tool used by hunters to track air currents. The correct answer was wind indicator, but a few listeners wrote in to say that there is another correct answer, which is an animometer. An animometer is defined as, quote, an instrument used to measure wind speed, force, and air flow, and it is 10 letters. So those listeners are right. If you said animometer, give yourself a point. I had a follow up to that that I forgot about the other, the other indicator we used in Austria. Bubbles. No way. No way. Like little kids, bubbles. What's cute? Yeah. Up in the stand. Take out the little thing of bubbles. Huh. And then you can see you can watch that thing glide as they drift away. You can see if the wind's turning or swirling or whatever. That's a hot tip. Yeah. I wonder if you like put some food coloring in there if you'd like see it even further. And it's so delightful. Yeah. It's just fun. It adds like a little childish. But it would only work in habitat where there's like very little trees, brush, or whatever. Because yeah, I mean, but that's with any windy cream or milkweed, get hung up on stuff. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Don't blow bubbles in the woods, Johnny. Yeah. Have it your way. No, I was just like, I was just, it just seems like they would very quickly pop that. That's what you got. It's, you're covering, you're covering an area, you just got to blow a lot. Do they, do they have a hunt specific, like a vessel for these fun? Take a big. There's a marketing on the real product opportunity. Yeah. Media bubbles. I'm a little surprised that it's not like a whitetail thing. I could just see Mark up in a saddle. Okay. Yeah, man. Nick Ford. Nick's going. You can see a skit. You know how to make a, and it's extra, extra scented, little one has different shapes. Yeah. You can make a little shape of a buck, blow through. All right. That's a vindicated with a lot of whimsy. Right in that down. The Shelby index for today is a four. So our winners should get eight correct answers. And with that, we're on to the game of trivia. Play the drop, Phil. Yeah, just tend to win everything. Question one, the topic is biology. This first great question is via Justin Andrews, and as always, it will be multiple choice. Andrology is the study of blank. Is it fungi, snakes, trees, or insects? Dandrology, D-E-N-D-R-O-L-O-G-Y? Is the study of, is it fungi, snakes, trees, or insects? Justin Andrews, he sent me this question all the way back in 2022. So, the listeners who are worried that they haven't heard their question yet, just know it's never too late. You could send one today, and in 2030 on a show, I'm going to read that question. Dandrology is the study of blank. You're going to be doing this fungi, snakes, trees, and insects. Well, I'll be at rockers and, like, games and stuff. Randall, I don't think he even needed the choices on this one. Brody, do you know this one? Yes. Okay, Mark, you know this one. Ah, maybe. I've got it narrowed down to two if you're wondering, Spencer. I was wondering. At least I'm very confident. Dandrology is the study of fungi, snakes, trees, or insects. If I didn't have the choices, I would have said something else. Okay. Yeah, the choice has helped on us. Everybody ready? I would have been in the neighborhood. Go ahead and reveal your answers. Randall says, trees. Mark, fungi, yani, snakes, riva, fungi, Nick, insects, Brody, trees. Every one of the answers was represented. The correct answer is trees, Brody, and Randall got that one right. I used process of elimination. Mycology is the study of fungi, serpentology is the study of snakes, entomology is the study of insects, and dendrology is the study of trees, shrubs, and other woody plants. The term comes from the Greek word dendron, which means tree. I would have said herpotology for snakes. I think that's the broader term. Serpentology is a sweet question to the topic is fishing. Superstitious anglers going back to the 1700s have said that it's bad luck to bring this fruit onto a boat. I am. We've never had this never done this one. That was amazing. I did something similar many years ago. I could tell you about it after this question, but I don't want to give you any hints. Do you guys all respect this rule? No. I used to mess with my clients when they, yeah, it's more like for funny banter. Yeah. Captain Randall, you didn't have any strict rules about this. No. Like if your client's really sucked, that's why. No, it actually, I think, I think I learned about this because I brought this on a boat. Bad captain. Yeah. And it didn't bother me because I didn't believe in it. But I got razzed. It's everybody ready. I'm surprised it goes back that far though. There's a reason after this. We have the whole room saying banana. The whole room got it right. The correct answer is bananas. This nautical superstition has been shared by boaters across the globe for hundreds of years. And it's not totally unfounded. Bananas release gas as they ripen. And on old wooden ships, this could cause other food to rot quickly. And because of their short and lifetime, it's said that boats carrying them would try to sail faster, which made for riskier trips. So maybe it wasn't a total coincidence when boats with bananas seem to have more bad than that. I got another reason. They would, when they would come across floating like whatever you call the ship sunk. Okay. Bananas are floating. Bananas make it. Yeah. Bananas do make other things stink. I remember very vividly on a camping trip as a kid having a box of Captain Crunch ruined by banana stink. Oh, wow. I didn't know. Is that that power? You know, like if you have bananas in a cooler or something, the bananas start to turn and everything just tastes like bananas. Did this to Captain Crunch? The question that I had that was similar to this many years ago was something about this underwear brand is not allowed on some boats because of their logo. It was fruit of the loom. Captain Crunch's real name is Horatio Magellan Crunch. Thank you. Incredible fun fact. Question three. The topic is hunting. This next great question is be a dexting clat worthy. Otis accidentally shoots Carl while white tail hunting in a 2011 episode of this post apocalyptic show. Randall and Brody. I think they have the perfect game. Still going. They have their answer for number three. Nick Glenn, do you have this one right? I believe so. Okay. Have you seen this show? I believe so. All right. You think you've seen the show? If it's if it's right, then yes, I have no idea. Hmm. That's fine. Is that right? Leave it. Do you have this one right? No. Randalls. Hmm. Uncapping his marker. Thinking about picking up his wife or just thought of another post apocalyptic show. Hmm. Oh, geez. Phil, give us a review of this show after the answer is revealed. Do you have an opinion on it? I mean, I can give an opinion without spoiling anything, which is that I watched the first two seasons and checked out. Okay. Hmm. Knowing what we know about Phil is that a clue of some way. If it isn't, hasn't helped, Yani could do enough nudity in it, so fill it out. There we go. Crasse language and nudity. Yani, can you name any post apocalyptic shows picking up his whiteboard? Great question. From Daxon. Hmm. Hmm. I have another one, but I think it's too recent. Oh, this is a doozy. Oh, geez. Yani, are you ready? Randall says walking dead, Mark, the walking dead, Yani. Dead men walking. That's the Sean Penfield on the great value brand. For no. Riva says metal lock metal lock, a little good answer. Nick walking dead, Brody, the walking dead, the correct answer is the walking dead. The accident happens in the season two premiere of the show. 12 year old Carl is walking through the forest when he comes upon a giant velvet buck. He amazingly sneaks to within just a couple yards of the deer when a shot rings out. The bullet rips through the buck's chest before hitting Carl in the abdomen. The white tail dies, but Carl survives thanks to emergency treatment from a veterinarian. Question four, the topic is wildlife. A 2018 study in a biophysics journal theorized that this seven letter animal is actually an alien that arrived here on a comet in egg form 270 million years ago. Randall and Brody are playing hangman and they've done some erasing. Nick is the only player who likes his answer. He's grinning, he's nodding, you got seven letter animal over there that you think could be an alien. It's a seven letter animal, I'm sure. That's why I keep checking my board of nature when I spell it right. Any hints? I've told you everything you need to know. Reba, do you have this one right? I feel fairly confident. Wow. But I don't know. Reba and Nick, our other four players though, don't have it. A 2018 study in a biophysics journal theorized that this is like a legit study. Peer reviewed, I'll tell you about it in the flavor text 2018 study in a biophysics journal theorized that this seven letter animal is actually an alien that arrived here on a comet in egg form 270 million years ago. How'd you find this question? I've been vaguely aware of this study for a while and I've finally just made it into some content. Yeah, yeah, good for you, Riva. Get him. This is question four. It's gonna be awesome to rest the questions off. Yani hasn't done any writing yet. You just threw on the white flag on this one, Yani. I mean, I know a lot of seven letter animals, but not ones that would be, you know, considered aliens, I don't think. Hmm, hmm. A lot of weird noises from the, from the crew today. Not even Nick, they got this one. You guys should show each other with your white, and do you agree? Yeah, okay, that's fun. Wow, this is amazing. Two that are so confident in the rest of us. They know they're UFOs. Randall, do you have a seven letter animal? I have a seven letter animal. Okay, and I don't like it. I think it's no pay answer. I just don't like the animal. Yani, Mark, are you ready? Yeah, I got nothing. Sure, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Randall saying octopus. Mark and Yani without an answer. Riva and Nick say octopus. Brody says penguin. Platypus, that was my first answer. The correct answer is octopus. Half of our players got that one right. Yeah, that makes sense. This is known as the Pan's Permia Theory, which says that life exists around the universe and is distributed by space debris. The hypothesis was first suggested by a Greek philosopher who believed meteors contained cosmic seeds that bounced around between planets. The 2018 peer-reviewed study specifically called out the octopus as being a potential alien. They argued that frozen octopus eggs attached to a comet might explain the mysterious creature, but mainstream scientists were very critical of the paper saying it lacks any basic evidence. Yeah, sounds reasonable. Could be 270 million years ago though a comet with frozen octopus eggs hit the ocean. And that's where we're at today. I guess we'll never know. Question five, the topic is conservation. This next great question is via Brian Clement. The Palad Blank, which is considered one of the most endangered fish in North America, was added to the endangered species list in 1990. Brody, Randall, Mark, Yani, they all got it, but are UFO experts? Nick and Riva do not. The Palad Blank. This is question five. We'll get a scoreboard update from Phil, the engineer after this. By the way, next month, our next five episodes, we have guest host month. All your favorite meteor trivia players are going to be in the driver's seat. Yani is up first, but we got an episode from Brody, from Randall, from Mark, from Nate. It's going to be a lot of fun. I wasn't asked to return, why is that a sensor? Oh, you can host mine if you want. Oh, you hosted one film. I hosted two. I'm sad I missed both of those. Phil, I would love for you to host. I'm on the 12th, you can have that. I think I might be busy at that time. Was the D&D thing for trivia or something else? That was for trivia. That was just a fun surprise that everyone enjoyed, right? I still have, like, I think I won, but I still have trauma. One of my greatest regrets in life is missing that day. That was bad. Bad for Randall. We have Randall and Mark and Yani, and the whole room says Sturgeon, the whole room got it right. It's the Palad Sturgeon. Palad Sturgeon are native to the Missouri and Mississippi river watersheds. They grew up to six feet long and 80 pounds. Their populations have cratered in the last 100 years due to dam construction, habitat loss. It's estimated that the upper stretch of their native range, there are fewer than 50 adult fish remaining. I was reading with the Palad Sturgeon's hair cut. They had been like circa, I don't know, 2014. That's the same haircut the kids are wearing now. Yeah, I was doing it first. I was reading about one of those suckers that took a left out of the Yellowstone in eastern Munchan and went like 150 miles up the powder river. Wow, that's cool. Which if you've seen the powder river, it's like how long do you get that far? I like your glasses too. Thank you. It's like you're playing second base. Those are my river working days, got them on the res. I felt we're halfway through today's game. Give us a scoreboard update. Here we go. We do have a perfect game on the board. Dr. Randall's got five points. All right. Nick and Brody are a point behind him. No, we don't got one wrong. No, I got him all right. Randall tried. I tried. Nick and Brody have four. Mark Kenyon has, oh wait, and Mark and Reeve have three. Yannis Patelis is in last place with two. Are you sure? Only two. Two measly points. I'm 99%. I did that once. Don't worry about it. Yannis got bananas and he got powder sturgeon. That's it. Phil, aren't you going to rub it in? You never get it wrong? Yannis, I'm always right. Don't question me. All right, folks. If you are a whitetail hunter, you're going to want to hear this right now. We are running the ultimate whitetail giveaway. This next great question is via Andrew Heatherwick. This Austrian gunmaker, who is best known for their pistols, announced in 2024 that they'd no longer be selling horsesemen. Listen to right in your lane, Randall. My gosh, Randall, if you don't know this. Best known for their pistols. Announced in 2024 that they'd no longer be selling horsesemen. Randall, do you have this one right? I don't know how many Austrian gunmakers can you name, you think? I mean, I have two down right now. Okay. The horsesemen is what's throwing me off. I don't think I've ever purchased this. Horsesemen from an Austrian gunmaker. He thinks the German, you're more of a German horsesemen guy. No, the Swiss. Tell you what. The other thing also sells guns with which to implant the horsesemen. Interesting. What I want to know is what kind of rabbit hole led you to this? Were you googling pistols or semen? The rabbit hole was Andrew Heatherwicks. And that's a great question. Okay, Andrew. Same question to him. I just, yeah. I feel like if it's not what I think it is, it's too esoteric for most of the room. Okay. But I don't know. There you are. Other players give up. Randall says, "Glock." Taurus. Yani Colt. Riva, Nick, without an answer. Brody, H and K. Correct answer. Is Glock? Randall, again, that was just horsesemen. Glock, which started selling guns in 1982, created a branch of their business, dedicated to horses in 2010. The Glock Horse Performance Center was a high-profile training and breeding operation. that became one of the powerhouses of Dressage, but after Glock's founder died in 2023, the family announced that they'd be shuddering the equine side of their business. - Yeah, I figured it wrong. - Yeah, the date lined up with the family, what not? - They had a good run, is the premier Dressage. - They have a big facility in Furluck. Glock does. - Yes. - Well, I think they used to, but I think it's like since their announcement, they've been moving away from it and they said by 2026, all will be out of the Glock name. - Not the semen, the guns. - The guns. - Yeah. - Oh yeah. - Yeah. - No, the guns. - Question seven, the topic is fishing. This six letter word is defined as, quote, a small low-powered auxiliary outboard engine mounted on a boat's trancem next to the primary engine. Randall and Brody, they got it. Yani, he, thanks, he has it. This six letter word is defined as, a small low-powered auxiliary outboard engine mounted on a boat's trancem next to the primary engine. - They got one of these I need to sell. - Has your bear rug sold yet? - Yep. - Oh, it did. Congratulations. - You sell it through the store, how'd you do it? Did you have to come down off of your original ask? - No, I mean, there's always some haggling in there. - Okay, yeah, all right. Now you can find Brody's this thing at the store next. - Yeah, you should put it in the window. - This six letter word is defined as, quote, a small low-powered auxiliary outboard engine mounted on a boat's trancem next to the primary engine. Randall switched up his seat today 'cause the other one's been bad luck. - It has. - Yani, who's in last place. - Ooh, yeah. - He's in the bad luck seat. - Yeah, I don't know if I shared this on the air, but I had someone the other day, Greetman said, "You used to be so good at trivia." - Oh, no. And I figured desperate times. - Are you done with stats of the week? - I think I've done the stats. - Really? - Yeah, we've seen all the stats right now. I'd rather answer the listener questions that they have. Six letter word is defined as a small low-powered auxiliary outboard engine mounted on a boat's trancem next to the primary engine is everybody ready. Randall says, "Kicker," mark without an answer. Yani, "Kicker," Riva, and Nick without an answer. Brody, "Kicker," the correct answer is "Kicker." - Nick, I understand it's your first time, but you came in here hard on the fishing thing. - Hey. - I'm on boats salt water. We don't really call 'em kickers. - What do you call 'em? - It's just like a trolling motor. Or like the outboard motor. I was just trying to think of something with six and nothing came. - "Kicker" motors range from five horsepower to 25 horsepower with 9.9 being the most popular choice by not going above 10 horsepower. The engine skirts rules regarding registration and horsepower limits. The purpose of a kicker is to give anglers low speed control of the boat while also having a reliable emergency backup motor. What horsepower is yours Brody? 9.9.105? We're on to question eight, the topic is conservation. Timbuck II, which is a real city on this continent, was a hub for the global ivory trade for three centuries. - Spelling right. - Timbuck II, which is a real city on this continent, was a hub for the global ivory trade for three centuries. - Randall, do you just know this one? Were you taking a guess? - I knew this. I also feel like there's only a few to choose from, and there's some sufficient context in question. That's a man who's confident in his position on the scoreboard, just handing out all those hints. Is it a hint? I guess, I mean, the continents, yeah. - I can't catch him anyway, I'm moving my answer the way it is. - Mark, you know this one? Just a guess, kind of. - I bet it's a good one. - We'll get another scoreboard update from Phil after this. Is everybody ready? - Go ahead and reveal your answers, Randall says, "Africa, mark Africa, Yaniafrica, Riva Africa, "Nic Africa, Brodie Asia, the correct answer is, "Africa." - He roomed it well. - Africa. - From the 13th to 16th century, Timbuck II was one of the wealthiest and most influential trading hubs in the world. It trafficked everything, but its main economy was gold, salt, ivory, silks, grain, horses, and books. Timbuck II is located where the Sahara Desert meets the Niger River, which historians called the, quote, "camel meets canoe crossroads. "It's proximity to Africa's elephant-rich interior, "specifically made it in epicenter for ivory trade." Art Bill, two questions left. Let's see the scoreboard. - Oh, there's a shit out there. - Randall caused a bit of an anti-climactic game here because he's locked up the victory with eight points, he's three points ahead of the second place players who are Brody and Nick with five points, and then Janus Mark and Riva are tied up with four. - But don't blow it at the end. - See if you can get a perfect game and double the donation. - That's what I mean. - $1,000. Question nine, the topic is cooking. This is our Lister question of the week, which was won by David Hayes for sending this great question. David is going to get a $150 first slide gift card. If you want a chance to win Lister question of the week, and send your question to [email protected]. This figurative and literal culinary phrase says that you should "boil the piss out of blank when cooking these organs." Randall and Brody, they have their answers. You boys have this one, right? - I think so. - Yeah. I also, Spencer sent me a picture of the location of Tim Buck too, and so I'm just gonna bring that up. - Oh yeah, there it is. In case you're wondering where on the globe, Tim Buck too is located. Now you got it. You can see where the desert comes right up and butts up against the green. That's what made its location portrayed. So special. - I wanted to make a joke about the camel canoe crossroads. What's the joke? - Well, it's gonna be something to do with cigarettes, but I haven't gotten there yet. - Okay, you think on that. - This figurative and the culinary phrase says that you should "boil the piss out of blank when cooking these organs." - Sounds like something Steve would say. - The culinary phrase or the camel thing, okay. - No, not the camel thing. - Yeah, that's all Randall. - That's too high bra. This figurative and literal culinary phrase says that you should "boil the piss out of blank when cooking these organs." - Yani is hosting next week, yeah. - Is the answer what those organs are? - Yes. - He stumped. - What was your answer? - Did you have one? - No. - Does this mean there's more? - I got so much. No, I'm gonna leave them. - That doesn't matter. - Yani is hosting next week. Yani, how are you feeling about that episode? You like your questions that you wrote? - Hey, Jennifer said they were fun. - All right, that's nice. - Do you have an answer? - She was why. - I'm excited for that episode. - Spencer, we were having a debate. When I host, if my goal is to have three people get a perfect game for a tie breaker, would you be mad if I didn't? - No, do that. That would be fun. That's why it's fun to have the guest host 'cause you guys just say, you bring some different flavor than what you get every other week of the year. I'm thinking about doing all of my questions about this Ventura one and two. - Okay, I'll study up then. - Great movie. - Wait, Nani, Nani down there. - Oh, yeah, yeah, let's go. - Go ahead and reveal your answers. Randall says, "Kidneys, Mark, Kidneys, Yani Blatter, "Revaliver, Nick Kidneys, Brody Kidneys. "The correct answer is Kidneys." Yiren is made in the kidneys and that pungent smell can be noticeable when cooking. To prevent this, it's recommended that you trim the kidneys then soak them in milk overnight, then boil them two to three times for five minutes each for a classic kidney dish. Check out Danielle Pruitt's "Venison Steak" and Kidney Pie recipe on the meateater.com. - Never eat them. - Is anybody? - Yeah. - I don't think I have either. - Yeah, the only memory I have of it is it just tasted like I buried my head in, urine soaked straw in a bar. Like that was like the number one. It was just like it tasted the way that it smells and you walk into a bar where that changed out the head. - Did the cook know what they were doing? - Apparently they did not do that. - I don't know. I don't know. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt until now, but it seems like there is a way to get rid of the piss. - It's boiled the piss out of them. - All right, here's the correct answer. you so far. One was dendrology is the study of trees, two bananas, three, the walking dead, four octopus, five sturgeon, six block, seven kicker motor, eight Africa, nine kidneys, Phil scoreboard update. Well, I spoke to you soon about being, being anticlimactic as Randall still has the perfect game going into question 10. Oh, I almost wish I'd blown it on the last one. The topic is wildlife. This five letter word is defined as quote, the male bee of a honey bee colony whose sole purpose is to mate with the queen. And he seems to have it had this answer before I finished the question. You a honey bee boy over there, you're going to start raising those with your chickens? No, I hate bees, man. I'll be honest. Okay. They sting me. I swell up real bad. That's why you know your enemy so well. You got this one right? I hope so. Does that letter? I didn't see your answer. I just saw how quickly you wrote. I think it's right. This five letter word is defined as the male bee of a honey bee colony whose sole purpose is to mate with the queen. I'm fixing to argue about this one. Really? Yeah. Just wait. Yeah. Let your blood pressure start rising now anticipation for Yani's game. No, Phil, for this argument, is this a word that you like? Oh, I have no idea what you're getting. Oh, no, no, actually, that doesn't make sense. Yeah, never mind. Okay. Great. I was confusing this term. I was confusing this term with another term. Is everybody ready? I don't have an answer. Let's see if he has a perfect game. Randall says drone. Mark Drone. Yani without an answer. Revosteer Nick without an answer. Brody says daddy. This episode had UFOs that horse Seaman and now it has daddy. Tell me I'm going to answer. Are you for it? Is drone Randall? Got it. He's got the perfect game. I think that's back to back weeks now. We have a perfect game. Brody last week and Randall this week. The three types of bees in a bee hive are queens, workers and drones. The queen bee lays eggs. Drone bees mate with virgin queens and worker bees focus on hive maintenance, defense and food gathering. Worker bees choose queens when that female is just a couple days old in larva form. When a queen is selected, it is fed a special diet of a royal jelly that triggers the development of reproductile jelly. The royal jelly. What the bee people call it. You can be a bee man yet. To explain my thinking there. Yes, please. I had for whatever reason in my mind, I had conflated the term droid with drone. That was the thing of C3PO and R2D2. C3PO and I realized it's still even weird though. Yeah, it would have been weird. I know. I know. Randall did it. He got double digit correct answers. The perfect game. What are you going to do with that $1,000 donation. It's done a this to the North American Pronghorn Foundation. I think that's a nurse for us. A new one. A new organization as well. It is. $1,000 ago. A long ways there. Yeah. They were founded, I think only in the last two years maybe. We interviewed them on media to radio live. Oh, yeah, I've forgotten about that. And it's Pronghorn season coming up here in Montana. So, you know, get my, get my juju, get my, what do you call that karma karma? Yeah, get my karma going. There you go. Force out of that. Then you can go kill one. Yeah. All right. Reminder. Again, our next five episodes. We got guest hosts. Please tune in. Join us next week for more meat eater trivia.
