because like solo queuing is like scary and i don't want to communicate and i hate talking to other people because i don't know if they'll be nice or mean or whatever but we played a game with a guy named diddy foyd yeah and my first reaction is this guy's gonna suck sure because his name's diddy foyd two diddy foyd diddy foyd two oh my god diddy foyd it sucks to not be the first one to the which is exactly what we asked him yeah and so we're talking to diddy foyd too turns out his last name's diddy tough which actually better in the context of he didn't make that name because p did yeah but it's just a tough time for him okay now what about foyd didn't ask about it i'm assuming it was a family name as well there's so many moments from that part of the stream that ludwig is gonna get new year's night new year's eve and it was like it was nighttime so i think there was like a party to go to or something and you're playing a league game and i was like how's this going for you and you were fighting baron i still remember this and you said this is the worst fucking decision i've ever made in my life to go for this goal you were so mad and it wasn't no one was else around to hear that and i'm like damn must be on a loss streak but that's what i want to know it's like is that gonna be is the dark dubbin gonna be grinding cs2 what is dark about somebody grinding for achieving a goal that they have you just turn into dark dubbin why is there an ai over you league week two no but league week two why does ai know this oh it's because it's crawling from but it's wrong for both things you already know you know but if it's outside of those brackets you're playing someone so much better than you you're not interacting with the game and on the bottom end of that you're like practicing different stuff because you're passing time yeah you can just be you can be worse you can make worse decisions and still profit and get rewarded which is dangerous i think there is an effect though if you like when you take the game seriously if you're against people who are better than you but they're not smurfing which i think is like an important distinction then there is like he's probably the most person most likely to respond to me because he's like a cs youtuber not like a pro or whatever um but so yeah these conversations and the arguments have happened and i have gone through too many of these and i fortunately have spent enough time around you guys two things have happened in my life over the past fucking like six years one i've accepted the ego death that i'm not as good at games as you guys right now and maybe i could be one day maybe i won't be but that doesn't matter and also that you guys i started out better at games and then you guys got better which can hurt the ego you have this feeling it's like well i started out better and then what he like he like went past me and i used to like hate that i don't care anymore i do not care and i spent enough time around you guys where i also trust what you're saying so when you're yelling at me about some bullshit i'm like guess i was wrong i don't care but josh isn't he doesn't spend enough time around us to feel that trust and also no one likes getting yelled at and also no one likes feeling like they're not impacting the game i think an important extra distinction for josh is that he is normally the one better than everyone else he's better that he is he has top 10 in one of the hardest games the game we all love the most yeah he is oh skill level we will never be yes and i think it never got close to when when any probably anything and if you put him into a game where it is you alone versus someone else alone he has traditionally been able to like show that like i can be better than you at that so i think to be put into a system that doesn't function that way and not succeed immediately i think is also probably hard like to just i know what it feels like to be shit at a new game it's like i felt playing league like i was playing league and i was seeing the rank iron god and i was just like you i've never been this bad at league you'd be like dude it's it's the fucking hell i can't get out it's so unlucky it was in a way it was crazy that both of us were one game away from getting gold and then it took us like a month to get gold oh dude it's crazy that both it charm to it uh because i would just hear my voice through ludwig's perspective and i'm saying something really stupid and i was like the fact that it sounds bad is also it sounds like someone in the game is saying it yeah i think that texture is what makes it funnier i i and i was thinking on the way here i was like what if they made a a fucking crazy headset that had like this condenser quality mic in it yeah that would change the planet imagine they're like five guys it's it's still the same size and it holds yes we don't know how microphones work do not pretend you know how a condenser mic works they could probably make it this small i feel like you could repackage it so it'd be like a helmet like a beer helmet yeah it's all happening back yes dude i don't know the engines in the back because i think microphones are an interesting case where like you can't offload the size to some processing part like like yes the size of the mic is how the sound comes in you know like five films where they have like a huge like casing or like helmet on that has like tubes coming out the back yeah and it's like that but it's the xlr cable going back the main mass like predator i i also was frustrated like i couldn't i i have this problem in these tax shooters which has always been the case because it's funny it's happening in valorant when i played that which forever ago i like looking at my screen and listening and talking is too hard and i don't i but i want to do it so bad and then i end up doing all of them kind of poorly i'll ghost come i will uh not listen to something and i'll not hit something this trifecta of horse shit and then you get what i was in the tournament or in the land i was just kind of a a guy who was like a bot i describe myself as a vision bot that would give you information and sometimes he would kill the guy like a drone but most of the time he wouldn't and i was like i guess that's me you were another case of the i think you would benefit from a sensitivity change too i love my sense though too high you love you love flicking around it's too high because you're too shaky so you're prone to over flick because you have such a natural movement of your hands that like the higher your sense goes the more variance there is of little movements so i think i think it's why you like the scout so much because it's kind of like falcon stomp queuing i need to explain to all of you what you need to be doing on site in you know ancient ct okay you know and then go through one by one okay which is which is also like a big ask too because that's like ultimately but like i think what happens is you do that during the games or at least you call out when people aren't doing what they should be doing and so i think people are finding out by doing errors and then getting like you know corrected to the right spot than being told this is the right spot yeah i think let me fucking say for one which is unfortunate i said i was always the guy who's like no let's not smash let's not smash let's learn something first yeah and the smash the smash call went through we're smash guys josh said smash you said he did not say smash but he didn't have but he also was he was like let me lie down he needed a mo yeah he would go he would go take some scrolls he would he would go to laptop read the slack and i i can't blame him for that i do think there was not an effort in this environment to sit and teach us certain things to do because i spent day five i was having so much trouble on ancient and i woke up early i was just fucking around on ancient and i learned all the b smokes on ancient and i learned all the utility i was wondering when you learned that because you came into that day he was like i can throw the smokes on asia yeah there was never i did also hear that and i was like funny this got brought up day five there was never a nice day one yeah well there was also never a direction to be like someone needs to learn these smokes they're really easy let's do that and i was wondering why right because i also to be fair i didn't want to eat my vegetables either i think i actually came in with that expectation too of like this is a short amount of time and there's only so much we can like realistically learn about the game and also i think for like in your case i got the vibe that you don't really like want tools we have in front of us and we're going to improve marginally over the course of this event but like trying to do walkthroughs of each map and like like me trying to teach like how defaulting works or trying to do a bunch of utile across a bunch of sites when it's there's a one in six chance we're going to be on that map it's more like figured that was like against the spirit of the marathon and being live like in my head and maybe i should have done it more i i do think that learning simple utility setups went a long way but i had to do that myself yeah which is fine i just i i thought that i honestly thought more of the marathon would be that like which weeks was there that day and i i said tell me how to play mini flex and he did and i liked that a lot not that we didn't do that but i was like i just thought there would be more of that instead of smashing q but let me be clear yeah smashing q feels really good i i'm happy with the result of the marathon i i'm yeah because it's hilarious yes exactly it's plus two is that's what i'm saying it's it's funnier than plus one and it's funnier than plus three i thought about that i literally thought about the i don't crazy i think if we were like four games away there's a world where we potentially played a little more yeah yeah we might have been like well let's just see if we can do it before midnight there was no gas in the tank on the last night okay so my actionable criticism is when you do this express frustration your tone just gotta has to be different it's a tone thing okay everything else pretty much fine again i wasn't i never minded being yelled at except for that ramp thing and then we proved it later while we were calm yeah which i'm like i'm actually i'm learning here but nick is actually really good at this i think when he says this isn't working we need to try this instead of you guys need to be out with me that doesn't that's like not you have to say it differently sure and that's pretty much it that's it otherwise i think it's hard to hide frustration i think that's that's a tough it's not about hiding it it's more about expressing it in a more constructive way while also still being frustrated because we're all frustrated or an actionable way like an immediately actionable way where it's like you know you say something that can be not what you did wrong but what despite what you did or didn't do wrong now what you can do next round that will potentially work better also dude after round it's like you don't have time to do anything else but talk about this new round and we had chat and we had talking about mistakes yeah i think we rattled that off pretty good later on in the marathon but a lot of time was spent in those 15 seconds being like no i did that because i thought this is a tight 15 and it's it's really hard it's hard for us at 15 is so that's at everybody food okay these are these are good these are good i'm becoming a better i will become a
