Ep. 2535 - The Ilhan Omar Evidence Is Impossible to Ignore

This transcript is a long-form political commentary episode blending sponsor promotions, sharp criticism of left-wing politics, and analysis of Israeli elections. The host opens with advertisements for The Daily Wire's action film and several product sponsors before turning to Rep. Ilhan Omar, alleging she falsified her birth year and name to obtain citizenship and may have entered a sham marriage with her brother. He argues that over 170 House Democrats are shielding her from a legitimate investigation while simultaneously calling for lawfare against Trump family members and allies. The host then cites a Gallup poll showing Democrats rank patriotism last among national values, and criticizes progressive candidates such as Abdulrahman El-Sayed and Nithya Raman as extreme and economically illiterate. He also warns that the Democratic Socialists are pulling the party leftward. A substantial segment explains Israel's parliamentary election system, the Likud and Yashar parties, and possible coalition outcomes, while insisting the election is not a referendum on Trump or U.S. politics. The episode closes with an interview with novelist Andrew Klavan about his new book, the decline of reading, and the limits of AI, plus concerns about election integrity, including same-day registration without ID and ballot harvesting.

So it's time for a little story time. This story comes courtesy of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar in her memoir. Her memoir says, quote, I was eight years old when civil war broke out in Somalia. Why does that matter? Because, uh-oh, you know when civil war broke out in Somalia, was 1989, which means she was born in 1981, which means that she almost certainly lied about her age when she obtained citizenship, and then lied about lying, and now she may end up prosecuted and even deported. Get out the world's smallest violin for this America-hating import from the third world. Pretty much every day, the evidence becomes clearer that Ilhan Omar almost certainly lied about her age in order to obtain American citizenship. And then lied on pretty much all her paperwork ever since, which means that she would be prosecutable and, yes, deportable. So she says that she was born in 1982. The reason this matters is because when she obtained citizenship, she did so on daddy's green card, essentially. And you have to be under the age of 18 in order to do that. So if she was a little bit older, then she got her actual citizenship significantly later than she should have. This is a problem for her. It means that she illegally obtained her citizenship. So she now says that she was born Ilhan Omar in Mogadishu, Somalia. In reality, that was not even her name. Her name was not Ilhan Omar, almost certainly. Instead, her actual name is Ilhan Elmi. We don't know how old she actually is, but her original birthday, according to the Minnesota House of Representatives profile, was 1981, which again means that she was too old to receive citizenship via her dad. Omar's dad, Ilhan Elmi, was a high-ranking military colonel under the Marxist military dictatorship of Sayyad Barre, which runs counter to his refugee status under U.S. law as well. In 1991, Ilhan Omar and her family relocated to Kenya during the Somali Civil War. And then in 1995, she and her family received refugee status and came to the United States, first to Arlington, Virginia, and then to Minneapolis. And again, it is probable that Omar did not even enter under her true name. Her dad's surname is Elmi, not Omar. The allegation is certain members of her family, went to the U.K. under the name Elmi. The rest of the family that went to the U.S. went by the name Omar in order to use a different family's refugee status to gain refugee status of their own. Again, that's something Scott Johnson of Powerline uncovered. He's uncovered a lot of all of this. And then she became a naturalized U.S. citizen, allegedly at age 17, but actually she was probably 18, which would have made her ineligible for naturalization. So you have like layers and layers of fraud here. That is a problem. And then, of course, as we have traced before, she almost certainly married her brother. Because she had a religious union with a man named Ahmed Hirsi in 2002. In 2008, she had a faith-based separation from Ahmed Hirsi. They had no civil marriage. They had a couple of kids. And then in 2009, she married Ahmed Noor Saeed Elmi. Well, that's weird because her actual name is Ilhan Noor Saeed Elmi in all probability. And then in 2011, she had a faith-based separation from Elmi. And Elmi had filed a marriage-based petition to gain permanent U.S. residency. But when federal immigration authorities asked for evidence of the marriage's bona fides, he withdrew his petition because he realized in all likelihood that they were going to be able to uncover the fact that he was her brother. Also, her brother happens to be almost certainly gay. So you have a few different issues here. Oh, yeah. And she apparently has a bunch of unexplained financial issues. Again, the evidence just keeps piling up against Ilhan Omar. According to the Washington Free Beacon, which has been doing yeoman's work in the investigation here, Omar's financial status is anything but basic. It includes enviable taxpayer-funded perks that she accepts as a member of Congress to cover her living expenses, millions of dollars that her campaign paid her husband's former consulting firm, and a mysterious $11.25 million cash infusion her husband's venture capital company received from an Indian billionaire in 2024. Former DNC advisor Will Haler launched a series of ham-fisted business ventures, including a California winery, a South Dakota-based marijuana investment firm, and an international venture firm called Rose Lake Capital. All of which found themselves mired in lawsuits and allegations of fraud by 2024. Her husband, whose name is Tim Minette, he and Haler had a bunch of these businesses. They resolved their debts shortly after Rose Lake Capital received a mysterious infusion of that gigantic chunk of change, $11.25 million from an Indian billionaire. So again, all of this is incredibly suspicious, unclear whether Rose Lake Capital ever returned that money. Well now, given the fact that there are all these questions that have arisen about Ilhan Omar on both an immigration basis and a fraud basis and all of the rest, it turns out, it turns out that the left is claiming the only reason people are upset about Ilhan Omar, the reason she's found herself in the legal crosshairs is not because she almost certainly committed criminal activity here on a wide variety of bases, ranging from falsification of marriage documents to commit immigration fraud on behalf of her brother, to the possibility of falsifying her own birth year in order to commit immigration fraud on behalf of herself, to possible financial malfeasance. No, it's not. It's because she's just too good and kind. So Ilhan Omar, you know, I think she's kind of a fraud, but here is the thing. So much of the stuff that is around us might be, you know, kind of fraudulent. Like for example, the American dollar, like how long can we last on the full faith and credit of the American dollar without diversifying? The dollar is strong right now because it's kind of the, the, you know, best available option among a bunch of bad options. But there's a reason central banks have been moving into precious metals. You should probably do the same with at least part of your asset portfolio, depending on your account. You might be able to do that. You might be able to move eligible IRA or 401k funds into physical gold and silver through a properly executed rollover without triggering current taxes or early withdrawal penalties. Golden Crest Metals walks you through the process. Transparent pricing, widely recognized coins, zero buyback fees, no high pressure sales pitch. Also, trust and will. Now let's talk about a thing that you just need to do. Okay, so again, you are looking at your financial future and you're thinking to yourself, what happens when I plot? Well, the answer is that if you don't have a trust or will, the government gets to figure out where your money goes, which seems really dumb. Don't do that. Instead, head on over to trust and will. Trustandwill.com. So now more than 170 House Democrats have demanded that the DOJ drop its investigation into Ilhan Omar. In a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanch and DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen, according to Breitbart, Democrats write that this month's raid on Omar's Washington, D.C. residence and the investigation into her immigration history is akin to weaponization of the DOJ. Now, again, listening to Democrats complain about weaponization of the DOJ after the DOJ was used as a blunt instrument against President Trump is pretty astonishing. And as we'll talk about a little later in the show, Democrats plan on using all legal auspices in order to target their political opposition the minute that they regain power. But according to these Democrats, it's really just about politics. It's not about the fact that she committed almost certainly immigration fraud. It is actually just politics. Quote, this weaponization of law enforcement to harass a sitting member of Congress 22 days before an election is unprecedented and unacceptable. Is it unprecedented? And is it unacceptable? I feel like there's precedent for it. And also, it is acceptable if she actually committed crimes. They say DOJ has long followed a policy not to investigate steps to take investigative steps related to a candidate that's close to an election. They say DOJ has long followed a policy not to investigate steps to take investigative steps to take investigative steps to take investigation. If delaying the action will not jeopardize a criminal investigation. Congresswoman Omar is seeking reelection in Minnesota's fifth congressional district in one week. Okay, let's be real about this. That policy is designed specifically for close elections, not where Ilhan Omar is going to win a runaway in her own congressional district, obviously. They say, quote, this type of interference strips Minnesotans of their right to a free and fair election guarantees them under the Constitution. Your actions are clearly driven by a predetermined political outcome rather than an objective pursuit of justice. And again, I just want to point out the insane irony here, because Democrats are openly calling for lawfare right now, openly calling for lawfare against everyone that they can think of. So, for example, at the same time, while 170 Democrats are saying you must leave Ilhan Omar alone, this is lawfare. You have Congressperson Ro Khanna from California who wants to introduce what he calls a truth and accountability commission for all the Trump family, right? Again, not policing crime, policing family members of the Trump administration.
Speaker 2Truth and accountability commission to hold the Trump administration and the Trump family accountable for crimes. Donald Trump says, show me the person and I'll show you the crimes. We're going to flip the script. Show us the crimes and we will hold the people who did this accountable. Okay, but I
Speaker 1noticed that you're not actually talking about the crimes they did. You're just talking about the people. Jennifer Welch, who is the toxic feminine id of the Democratic Party at this point, she is calling for Jared Kushner, Barron Trump, and Tiffany to all be killed. And she's calling for them to be killed. She's saying this with Jim Acosta. And ladies, find you a man who loves you like Jim Acosta loves Jim Acosta, formerly of CNN.
Speaker 3I'm just going to say it. I want Barron, Jared. I'm going to throw Tiffany in, of course, dumb and dumber.
Speaker 2Tiffany. Oh, gosh, even Tiffany.
Speaker 3I want them all investigated. Every single one of them investigated. Now, I don't want, it's not like I have a rabid, like, lock them up mentality, but I want them to-
Speaker 2Move them up, maybe?
Speaker 3I want them to have trials. And I want, if they stole money or they were improper business dealings, all of their money taken away.
Speaker 1She wants all of their money taken away based on crimes she cannot specify. Meanwhile, Senator Alex Padilla in California, he just tweeted out, investigate Elon Musk, all capitals. So does he, can he name the crime? What is the crime that Elon Musk is supposed to have committed? So this is why, when I hear Democrats caterwauling about the crime and then saying, oh, this is a weaponization of justice. You guys have been doing this for years and years and years on end. In fact, the House Judiciary Democrats are already leaking out reports trying to criminalize behavior that, again, has long been out there and is not criminal and is not even evidenced. So they dropped a report suggesting that Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of young women. There's literally nothing new in this report at all. But according to Politico, quote, while Congress does not have the power to appoint a special counsel, the report makes the case for increased federal support to assist with state and foreign prosecutions of Epstein's co-conspirators, along with further congressional action to uncover Epstein's expansive sex trafficking scheme, both actions lawmakers could undertake through legislation. Again, I think anybody who committed a crime should be locked up, period. End of story. But the reason Democrats are doing this is because they wish to heap mud on President Trump based on literally no actual evidence. So again, when there is evidence of crime, as there certainly is with regard to Ilhan Omar, then all of a sudden they get very upset. But they are perfectly willing to weaponize the Justice Department and Congress itself to investigate all of their political opposition. By the way, some of the people who are also objecting are not members of the U.S. Congress or Democrats in power. They're also the Somali defense minister. So as Chris Rufo points out, Somali Defense Minister Ahmed Molim Fiki has urged Somali Americans, including supporters of U.S. President Trump, to stand by Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, saying she's being singled out because of her Somali origins. Fiki described Omar as a courageous politician who should not be left to confront political hostility alone, regardless of differences over American domestic politics. Quote, I want to send a message to Somalis living in the United States about our sister Ilhan Omar. She is facing a serious campaign of hostility and she has been left to fight this battle alone. We may agree or disagree with her political positions in the United States, but we share the same ethnicity, blood and religion. She is one of our own. Yeah, we know. Yeah, we're aware. We're aware, guys. Somali defense minister coming out on behalf of Ilhan Omar. Somalia, by the way, not exactly governed by friends of the United States. But again, according to Democrats, the only reason people are going after Ilhan Omar is because she is just too influential and apparently, according to Ilhan Omar, too attractive. Hassan Piker sat with Ilhan Omar and they talked about all of this. She's she's just too she's just too hot. That's that's why people are upset with her, apparently.
Speaker 4I feel like the media has a tendency to, you know, highlight everything that you do. Some of the things that I do, like we're just normal Americans trying to go about our day to day and trying to organize against the Trump administration in the same way that, you know, white people are doing in general. Right. It's like, why
Speaker 5is this look really good on their screen? That's why they like me.
Speaker 4You think that's why they get you? Yeah. They're like she's she's so charismatic. I think that's what I think. I could see that one hundred percent. I agree with that. But yeah, it's it's very frustrating because like it is
Speaker 6tired of looking at their, you know, Botox faces. So let's see if we can get some nice natural.
Speaker 4So you're saying if the fascists were hotter, then they would get more. They would be less of us on TV. Yeah. It's not that
Speaker 1she hates America. It's that she is so good looking. Ilhan Omar. Ilhan Omar thinks that Ilhan Omar is really, really, really hot. Hmm. Interesting. I'm pretty sure that the reason that people want her out of Congress and maybe out of the country is because she agrees with Hassan Piker. And when they say we're just normal Americans who want to fight the Trump administration, no, you both hate the country. Hassan Piker has said over over and over and over again that he hates the country. And by the way, so does Ilhan Omar. She literally wrote a letter to a federal judge on behalf of an ISIS terrorist before she was in Congress. She hates the country. She has always hated the country. She literally wrote a letter to a judge, quote, The desire to commit violence is not inherent to people. If it is the consequences of systematic alienation, people seek violence. And solutions when the process established for enacting changes inaccessible to them fueled by disaffection turned to malice. If the guilty were willing to kill and be killed, fighting perceived injustice. Imagine the consequence of them hearing. I believe you can be rehabilitated. I want you to become part of my community and together we will thrive. The restorative approach provides a long term solution, though the self-declared Islamic state may soon suffer defeat. The radical approach to change making will continue as it has throughout history. You see, ISIS just has a radical approach to change making, according to this sitting congressperson. And we should stop, quote, criminalizing the undergirding construct rather than its predisposed victims. Oh, my goodness. Well, the good news is apparently she violated federal law, so hopefully we can deport her, according, by the way, to our sponsors and friends over at Kalshi. She is the politician most likely to be charged with a federal crime this year. 38% of the money on Kalshi says that she will be charged with a federal crime this year. Second place is Corey Lewandowski. Sadly, however, we cannot deport all of her friends like Hassan Piker, who spends his day yesterday calling all the Republicans terrorists. By the way, if Republicans were actually terrorists, you'd be in favor of them. They would just have to be radical Islamist terrorists who are murdering Jews. Then you'd be totally in favor.
Speaker 4I'm not even going to bring up the Republicans because they are the most un-American force in this country. They're terrorists. They are terrorizing our neighborhoods. They're destroying what remains of the social fabric that holds us together.
Speaker 1Again, he was doing this event alongside Ilhan Omar and Omar Fateh. Omar Fateh had been running for Minneapolis mayor. He had heavy support in the Somali community, obviously. At the same event, Hassan Piker started going after Jacob Fry and Amy Klobuchar, who are too far to the center, which is, I mean, again, they're psycho. Too far to the center, Amy Klobuchar and Jacob Fry, who is a nut job leftist. He's the one, you'll remember, kneeling before the casket of George Floyd. Here's Hassan Piker going after them. I feel like I know which Democrat.
Speaker 7I disavow them. Who is it? It's Amy Klobuchar. Guys, that's my
Speaker 4favorite mayor in the country.
Speaker 1Stop. Now, again, those are the people who are the captain now. Omar Fattah has a show apparently called I'm the Host Now, which is supposed to be a riff on the Captain Phillips' I'm the Captain Now, which is a story about Somali pirates taking over an American ship. Saying the quiet part out loud a little bit, are we? Gavin Newsom, who can be trusted to always say what he believes is most beneficial to him. He was caught by Town Hall being asked about where the Democratic Party was going. And he said the DSA is going to lead the charge.
Speaker 8Where do you see, I guess, the Democratic Party going?
Speaker 9I think it's, I mean, I think no one is arguing to manage the status quo or fail more efficiently. So I think that the DSA, the energy, and the desire and demand for bold change, non-incremental change, is very much going to be the dominant. I mean, that's going to be a mainstream Democratic movement. Absolutely. No question about it. He can't play in the margins anymore. The whole system's broken. It's completely unbalanced. And he can't, we can't manage it at all. We have to completely reimagine it.
Speaker 1Okay, so, again, they have to completely reimagine. What the Democratic Party will be, what America will be going for. Gavin Newsom, again, there's a reason he is saying that, because he's trying to capture the heart of the DSA. That is where the country goes, in the direction of the Ilhan Omar's and the Hassan Piker's, if they win. By the way, if you take a look at those Kalshi odds on 2028 Democratic presidential nominees right now, those Kalshi odds have John Ossoff at the top, like 15% shot. Gavin Newsom at 14, AOC at 13. Not exactly the dominance of the moderate wing of the Democratic Party. Speaking of which, again, if you look at what Democrats want, you can see why the Democratic Party is taking a hard turn left. So there's a brand new Gallup poll out, and it's sort of fascinating. So it lists 12 values. And the question is, which values does the country need most today? There's a wide gap between the Republicans and the Democrats, as you can imagine. On some issues, there really isn't. Like on honesty, for example. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, they all think that the country needs honesty in their party and in the country. Republicans say 38%, Democrats 34%, 32%, Independents 34%. But there are some fairly wide gaps here. There are real gaps on responsibility. So again, these are most needed values in the country. Republicans say, 41% of Republicans say that America needs responsibility. Only 24% of Democrats do. Independents, somewhere in the middle at 32%. So Democrats are not super high on the responsibility. On equality, what are the most needed values in the country? Democrats, their top value is equality. And they don't mean equality of opportunity. They mean equality of outcome. You can see why they're embracing full-scale socialism. Literally 40, it's their top value. The thing that the country needs most is equality. It's 44%. Their second top quality, by the way, fairness. So same issue, 34%. For Republicans, only 10% say equality. Only 15% say fairness. For Independents, the numbers, again, somewhere in the middle. 30% of Independents say equality. 27% say fairness. But the biggest gap of all is on patriotism. The top value that Republicans say the country needs is patriotism. People love the country. Democrats, you might assume that Democrats also would love people who love the country, right? They just want, they love the country, but want more equality. Nope. It turns out that Democrats hate patriotism. That's not my opinion. That is their opinion. It is literally their least desired value in the country. The most needed values in the country by political party. Independents, 15% say patriotism. 46% of Republicans say patriotism. 6% of Democrats say that patriotism is a top value for them. 6%. Now, again, these are the biggest gaps in the country. Republicans are all for patriotism and responsibility. And Democrats are all for equality and fairness. And they don't give a crap about patriotism, like at all. Now, again, if your top value is a Democrat for the country, our equality and fairness, and you hate patriotism, right? You see patriotism as an actual downside, right? You don't care about it at all. And you can see why they're perfectly fine with Assam Piker wiping his butt with the American flag, or Zoran Mamdani, who hates the country, or Ilhan Omar, Abdullah al-Assad. You can see why. You can see why, right? The poll tells you everything that you need to know. It's also why Democrats keep nominating Loonibin, candidates like Angie Nixon in Florida. See, Angie Nixon was asked by CBS whether she's a capitalist. She can't answer the question.
Speaker 6So for people that are confused about where you stand, you've called yourself a capitalist. You're also a member of the DSA. Are you a capitalist or a socialist? So what I would say is I live in a capitalistic society, and I just want to make sure that people have strong social programs and safety net programs because I've had to use them before. And so you can call me whatever you want. But just know that I'm going to be out here working and fighting for hardworking and retired people and folks living with disabilities.
Speaker 1So she's not going to say she's a capitalist. You can call her whatever you want. By the way, she also says Cuba might not be a dictatorship, which is a strange perspective to take in a state with a heavy Cuban-American population.
Speaker 4Do you consider that Cuba is a dictatorship?
Speaker 6You know, that is what people have told me. I have never been to Cuba. And so I will have to take their word for it. And I know you're going to go into this. Where do I, how do I feel things need to be handled with Cuban relations? Right now, this decades-long failed embargo has yet to change over the regime.
Speaker 1You know, she's only been told that. She doesn't know. She doesn't know if it's a dictatorship or not. This is who the Democratic Party is putting forward as its candidate in Florida. Meanwhile, University of Michigan students can't even define socialism. So we've done an amazing job with our educational system here.
Speaker 10Socialism doesn't mean like anti-capitalism. Based off what I learned in my gov class, it's basically like spending more money on helping society.
Speaker 11Socialism to me is a concept in politics where everybody gets a little bit of everything. Everybody benefits and everybody is really taking care of kind of that social net that you see in other types of politics. I think a lot of people get the economic system of socialism confused with the government system of communism.
Speaker 1Oh, oh yeah. Things are going well here in this United States. Again, economic lack of understanding has now become a prerequisite for seeking office apparently as well. Nithya Raman, who may very well end up as the mayor of Los Angeles. She literally doesn't understand how landlords lose money. She, she thinks it's not possible because she's a stupid person.
Speaker 12I mean, we're in debt. We're now back. We're back to prices from about 10 years ago. So if you bought a fourplex in 2017, you made zero money in 10 years. You could have put that money in the stock market and doubled it. So it is hard to get people.
Speaker 13You probably made rental income from it.
Speaker 12No, because you generally lose money every month. If you buy a fourplex today for $2 million, it's a fourplex. You're probably going to lose a little bit every month. As a landlord, you cannot break even with rents right now. Even if you don't have rent control. If you're buying it new, you're saying.
Speaker 13No, if you're buying it new.
Speaker 12If you're buying any amount of real estate. Even if, if you're buying a fourplex that's under rent control, well, then it depresses the price probably another 20, 30%, depending on how many rent control. But let's say there's no rent control at all. If you're buying a fourplex today for $2 million, and that's, it's probably going to cost you about, call it $12,000 a month to carry that property with your, your loan and your property taxes, whatever. You're not going to get $12,000 in rent. You'll probably get 10 to 11. So most landlords lose about, you know, whatever, one or $2,000 a month to carry that property. To carry their property.
Speaker 1Okay. And she does not understand this at all, at all, at all. Because again, that's the beautiful thing about believing the government can establish equality and fairness top down, is you never have to understand anything. By the way, LA continues to suffer from a massive development shortage, despite the fact that there is pretty much no housing in the entire city. According to the Los Angeles Times, construction has slowed across Los Angeles. And the reason for that, a bunch of reasons, rent control is one of them. Restrictions on building are another. But there's also a mansion tax that levies a 4% or 5.5% tax on all LA property sales above $5.4 million. So people are now sticking to buying smaller properties instead of big properties, because if you sell them, then you have to pay the tax. Just genius level stuff all the way across the board. See, here's the thing. We have totally miseducated an entire generation of people. We have about socialism, about communism, about economics, about what the government ought to do. And just one reason, we made our brand new film, Confession. It's fabulous. This is the movie that we made starring Rob Lowe and James Bond. And Nick Nolte, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cody Smith-McPhee, Brad Dourif, seven Oscar nominations in that cast. That movie is going to be available to you if you are a Daily Wire member live in theaters on launch night, which is Wednesday, November 11th. Confession will play in 100 theaters across the United States at 7 p.m. local time. Only Daily Wire members can get in, which is why you should get a membership. It'll be amazing. Go to the link. It's dailywire.com slash find theater. You can search for a theater near you. Join the Daily Wire if you're not a member or log in if you are. Buy tickets at 15 bucks a piece plus fees. You're going to meet all sorts of people who you never knew were Daily Wire members. And you get to watch what I think, humbly speaking, is a masterpiece all about communism and faith and the challenges of what it means to be a human being standing up against its tyranny. Never more relevant than now when apparently young people across America have no idea what's going on in the world. So, if you're a daily wire member, what socialism is, what communism is, or the value of God. So, go check that out. Again, awesome benefits for our all access members. So, you can go join Daily Wire right now. It's a great way to become part of what's going to be an awesome, awesome event. Okay. Now, as we speak about the Democratic Party that is moving ever to the left and that despises patriotism, this brings up the Michigan race once again. Abdulrahman El-Sayed is not running as an American candidate. He's running as a candidate for the third world. That is what he is doing. He's proclaiming that he's doing it on behalf of Medicare for all. But as his constant refusal to explain his letter in support of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2012 shows, the reality is that he is running on behalf of a perspective that says that America is a nefarious power in the world. Our allies are nefarious powers in the world. Our enemies are actually potential allies. And all the bad places on earth are really the fault of the United States. And now his staffers are just saying things out loud. So, here is one Abdulrahman El-Sayed staffer named T.J. Wolfgram who was caught on tape explaining that the Muslim Brotherhood isn't that bad. They just want to preserve their people, you see.
Speaker 14My thing is, he's a Muslim. And he fights and he's anti-colonialist, I'm assuming. Why wouldn't he? Why wouldn't you support revolutionary movements for your people? So, I'm not offended by that. Because Americans are idiots. We've also done a lot of imperialist shit. I'm a church. I shouldn't be saying that. Yes. Yeah. And so, the Muslim Brotherhood and these other organizations, all they want is to preserve their people. So, I'm not offended. Like, to me, I'm like, okay, Muslim Brotherhood, he's a Muslim. He's from that part of the world. Why wouldn't he stand with his brothers? Does that make sense?
Speaker 15Absolutely. Yeah, I don't have any issue with the Muslim Brotherhood. And if I knew more about it, I might support some of what they do. I mean, granted, there's going to be cultural differences. So, there's going to be things about the way they go about what they do that I don't agree with.
Speaker 1Oh, but generally speaking, not a big deal. That, by the way, is an independent outreach director, conservative outreach director for Abdulrahman El-Sayed. This is why it is my bane in life to have to deal with people who have never, never had any serious experience with Judaism, who don't care about Judaism, who don't care about anything having to do with Judaism, who don't care about Israel, because they don't care about Judaism, saying as a Jew only to endorse people who hate Jews. It is the bane of my existence. Randy Weingarten, as Jewish as a ham sandwich, as I said before, you can be born a Jew and also be as Jewish as a ham sandwich. Randy Weingarten is one of these, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, one of the worst people in American public life. Here she is endorsing Abdulrahman El-Sayed, quote, quote, unquote, as a Jew. I don't want to hear from you as a Jew, since again, you have never said as a Jew while praying. Hey, that is not a thing. That is not a thing. It drives me insane. I'm Randy Weingarten.
Speaker 5President of the AFT. But today, I want to talk as a proud Jew, someone who happens to be married to a rabbi. And I want to talk about why we are supporting our endorsed candidate for Michigan Senate, Abdul El-Sayed. Now, I know there's some concerns about Abdul and the Jewish community. I want to say this. None of us agree with every candidate that we support all the time about
Speaker 1everything. Oh, oh, it's just, well, I mean, do you agree with the guy who says, heard people, heard people about people who drive trucks into Jewish kindergartens? Totally insane. Totally crazy. By the way, again, it is my inclination that El-Sayed is running behind his polling data. I think the polls right now are overstating El-Sayed's levels of support. There's an insider advantage poll that came out yesterday. And it shows El-Sayed is really lagging among black voters in Michigan. Again, overall, they have El-Sayed leading 47 to 46 over Mike Rogers. We should point out that on a racial basis, El-Sayed is only leading Rogers 47 to 33, 47 to 33 among black voters. That's a crazy statistic. Again, the exit polls in Michigan, where President Trump won, had black voters voting for Kamala Harris in an 86 to 13 clip. I do not see a scenario where he wins 47% of black Michigan likely voters and Rogers picks up one third of the black vote in Michigan and somehow Rogers loses. I find that very, very hard to believe. But El-Sayed is programming directly into the extremism. He had a roundtable discussion with one Om Osama Siblani to sue the anti-Israel and Arab voters in Dearborn, according to the Washington Free Beacon. He did. That roundtable discussion with Siblani, who has called Hamas and Hezbollah freedom fighters and called for Israeli Jews to be sent back to Poland. He also sat for an interview with editors and publishers from different small publications at the Dearborn offices of Siblani's newspaper, the Arab American News. In his question, Siblani urged El-Sayed to say something right now to soothe the people in Dearborn because they think that he's being too moderate, the people in Dearborn. Here's El-Sayed basically apologizing. To Siblani, a terror supporter.
Speaker 16What would you say to the Arab American or in general Dearborn voters so they can be they break the record in the primary because it's very important? What would you say to them to encourage them? Some of them are not very happy, as you know. I'd like you to say something right now to soothe the situation and move us forward.
Speaker 17Yeah, there is no perfect candidate. I am far from perfect. Let's talk to my wife. Far from perfect. But if you want somebody who is going to show up and fight for your housing and your health care, good schools, clean air, clean water, if you want someone who is going to keep your tax dollars here to invest your money here rather than send it abroad to kill or maim people who might be related to you in the south of Lebanon or in Gaza or in the West Bank.
Speaker 1And this is who Michiganders are thinking about. Voting for right now. The Democratic priorities are very clear. Not patriotism, not patriotism. Mass redistributionism. And yes, all the radical politics of yesteryear. Now, again, if you think woke is dead, it is not dead. It's been in remission and now it's coming back and it's going to come back with a vengeance. The Manhattan Institute is reporting on this massive increase in what it calls trans related illnesses among youth. They built an entire database based on insurance claims to assess the prevalence of gender dysphoria diagnoses. And of select gender transition interventions, meaning like mastectomies, meaning the cutting off of breasts in adolescents and young adults, a bare minimum of 15,437 minors in the state of Washington had a transgender related diagnosis on their health insurance claims between 2017 and 2023. The true number is almost certainly higher. Also, as you can see from the statistics, these stats wildly, wildly outpace what they were before the trans epidemic, which is, again, an epidemic. That is largely being driven by social contagion. Based on their data. You can see that among females, the rate per 100,000 of gender dysphoria went from 200 per 100,000, which again is insanely high starting in 2017 and skyrocketed all the way up to 700, right? Like a factor of three and a half by 2022 among girls. That's that's girls aged eight to 12. by the way. Among girls aged 12 to 17 went from seven hundred in 2017 to seventeen hundred and fifty by 2022. This is crazy. This is great. Now for for older people, 18 to 22, it starts to become more male than female, which again makes a little bit more sense because social contagion not quite as prevalent among women who are aged 18 to 22 as it would be among teenage girls. Democrats will rev up that machine again without a single doubt. Now, to put this in perspective, as the Manhattan Institute reports, the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders published in 2013 lists the rates of gender dysphoria in adult females as point zero zero two to point zero zero three percent. And in adult males, point zero zero five percent. Which, again, those are nowhere near the rates that you are seeing in Washington, which shows that it really is an extraordinary social contagion that has now broken out and will break out again. It's gone down in the last couple of years because society decided that it wasn't going to go along with this nonsense. But when Democrats come back, it will come back as well. Absolutely. And without a doubt. Now, meanwhile, as the elections approach, a lot of talk about the possibility of election fraud, it's coming up a lot. And there's a reason for that. It's because of the way the Democrats talk about elections, frankly. The evidence of widespread election fraud, like tens of thousands of votes that are being cast wrongly or counted wrongly, that's pretty skimpy. But the evidence that Democrats would love for it not to be skimpy, that evidence is fairly good. For example, here is a Minnesota official named Melanie Hazlip explaining that to the Somali community, voting without ID is a good thing. You can actually register same day. It's totally fine. And there is a reason why Democrats are interested in getting people to vote same day without ID. And they don't care if there's election fraud. I think it's probably the best way of putting it. They don't they don't really care if there's election fraud. They're not interested in election security. It is not a priority for them.
Speaker 13If you're already registered to vote, you don't need to bring anything with you. You just show up to your early voting location, which is usually the county office or a city hall. Minneapolis and the bigger jurisdictions have a lot of extra places where you can go, like a lot of libraries or community centers. But as long as you're registered to vote, you don't need to bring anything with you. If you're not registered to vote and you still have options, if you have a Minnesota ID that is updated, that's all you need to bring with you. If you don't have that, there is a list of documents on our website that you can find. You still have options to get registered same day.
Speaker 1I mean, again, this is what Democrats are pushing and they've been pushing it for quite a while. Zor Mamdani is doing the same thing in New York. He's encouraging people. You don't need anything to vote. It's totally fine. Again, they don't care about voter security. They don't. It's not a priority for them.
Speaker 18With so much misinformation about our elections this year, here's what every New Yorker should know. Voting is easy and safe in New York City. You don't need to bring anything with you to cast your vote at the polls. We'll even give you a bent. Our city's elections are secure. Thousands of people are voting. We don't need to bring anything with you to cast your vote at the polls. We don't need to of poll watchers and poll workers across the five boroughs.
Speaker 1Make sure. Now, again, it is astonishing that Democrats continue to push this. Remember, that's the same Zor Mamdani who in February 2026 was telling people they needed paperwork to become an emergency snow shoveler. And for those who
Speaker 18want to do more to help your neighbors and earn some extra cash, you too can become an emergency snow shoveler. Just show up at your local sanitation garage between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. tomorrow with your paperwork, which is accessible, online at NYC dot gov slash snow. And you can get started right away.
Speaker 1Paperwork to shovel snow, no paperwork to vote, basically. Well, President Trump has now put out a notice on Truth Social saying that anyone who reports voter fraud in the past elections of the upcoming 2026 midterm election, we paid a million dollars upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the fraud. Thanks for your attention to this matter, President Trump. Now, again, there is a sort of buried lead there, which is that arrest and conviction of people for voter fraud is actually quite difficult. It doesn't happen all that often. The DOJ has now apparently charged 48 aliens in Pennsylvania, California, Florida, New York and Nevada in connection with illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration and related election crimes. That doesn't mean all of them vote and all their votes were counted. Again, voter fraud is not happening on like this wide, gigantic scale, but the possibility for voter fraud remains quite real. And this is the part I think that boggles people's minds. It's why when we talk about voter ID, the approval for voter ID remains incredibly high across the board in the United States because it's basic common sense. And yet L.A. County Clerk, Attorney Seth Waxman, he's now claiming that non-citizens in California will, their votes will be counted.
Speaker 19I don't think anyone disputes that. I think the government is saying that we should stop the vote from counting, an illegal vote from counting. Well, you would agree that if there is an illegal citizen, I mean, a non-citizen that votes and we don't stop it now, that that vote, that ballot will then be counted, correct? That's absolutely correct.
Speaker 1Okay, so again, admitting that non-citizen votes will be counted. So you wonder why Republicans are a little on edge? That's the reason why they are on edge. It wouldn't be that hard to shore all this up, but Democrats don't really want to shore all this up. Now, listen, according to, I think, the best available data, the greatest danger of true voter fraud or voter intimidation or screwing with the ballots is in ballot harvesting. Democrats, if they got control of the federal government, this is what matters in this particular election. If Democrats got control of the federal government, all three branches that are elected, House, Senate, and presidency, they would ram through laws like H.R. 1, which they tried to. They would mandate California-style ballot harvesting. Ballot harvesting is where a third party who is not a member of your family and is not an election official can simply pick up your ballot for you. And if you're not a member of your family, you can pick up your ballot for you and then deliver it, which is a recipe for voter fraud. All right, that guy just goes to every Democratic House, picks up the ballots, skips all the Republican independent houses, goes down to the local homeless shelter, grabs all the ballots, tells people where they ought to vote. Now, check this box. That's a huge problem. That is a gigantic, and Democrats would love to do that. This is why whenever you hear Democrats claim that Republicans are paranoid about elections and why don't you just trust us? Well, again, it would be easy to trust you if you guys just said that you wanted to ensure that you were going to win. So, you know, I think that's a huge problem. Only the voter can return their own absentee ballot, for example, or they want to encourage people to vote same day and show ID. It's not hard to quiet people's qualms about all of this. It really isn't. Florida runs its elections beautifully. The big question is why Democrats are not interested in doing any of that. Now, by the way, we here at Daily Wire have launched something called Election Wire, and we have some games that are available. So you can now pick them over at the Daily Wire Election Wire, Senate, House, Governors. You can fill out your Daily Wire midterm pick'em game. Find out if you really know where America is headed. This is a moral Rorschach test.
Speaker 9I have a lot of issues with how Bibi ultimately conducted the war. I personally do. Israel is an unbelievably important issue because it is the moral crisis of our generation.
Speaker 1I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel. I support, um, Israel. I cannot support this government's actions. They are not aligned with U.S. national security objectives. Okay, so this is the idiot narrative that you've been hearing for a very, very long time from Democrats. Yeah, Israel's, well, it's Bibi, right? It's just, and they need to do it like, okay, so we're going to explain everything about this election. This is Israel's sixth election in seven years. That's a little bit deceptive because this is actually the first Israeli government that has lasted a full term, meaning four years since 1988. So typically, the way that the government works in Israel, it is a parliamentary system. So just to explain the basis, the basics, there are 120 seats in the Israeli parliament, which is called Knesset in Hebrew. In order for you to have a governing coalition, you must have a majority, 61 seats. That doesn't mean that, for example, Prime Minister Netanyahu's party, the Likud party, has 61 seats. It means that his party may have 30 seats, and then there are other parties that ally with him to get you 61 seats. Now, in the election, you do not vote for a candidate, but you have to have a cutoff for a party to actually have seats in the Knesset. You have to have at least four seats, which is 3.25% of the vote. So if you vote for a party that doesn't reach the cutoff, your vote is just discarded. There's a little bit of gamesmanship to Israeli elections. Now, according to Amit Segal, the election turnout has been extraordinarily high, the highest election turnout since 1973. Not a shock. It's the first election Israel has had in four years, and that includes, obviously, the period since October 7th, 2023. So I'm going to explain to you everything that's going on. I'm going to explain to you everything that's going on. And also, I'm going to explain why everybody who's commenting on this but knows nothing about Israeli politics is totally full of crap. So there are essentially three possibilities in this election. Benjamin Netanyahu's party, the Likud party, wins the largest number of seats, and he is asked by the president of Israel, this is the way the process works, Isaac Herzog, to form a coalition. Let's say that he and his coalitional partners, which would be sort of the right-wing parties plus the ultra-Orthodox, reach 61 seats, a majority. Then they form a new government. his chief opposition. is a former leader of the IDF named Gadi Eizenkot. Gadi Eizenkot leads a new party called the Yashar Party. Gadi Eizenkot is not a left-winger. Gadi Eizenkot would be by any normal description center-right. It's possible that he gets to 61 seats with his coalition partners and without the Arab parties, because the Arab parties don't like to join the coalition and the Israeli parties don't typically like to sit with parties that actually don't believe that the state of Israel should exist, which is one of the problems in Israeli politics. You basically have the mainstream of Israeli politics, which is kind of a general center-right population, and then you have two groups in Israeli politics that sort of sit outside of that, the Arabs who don't serve in the military and many of whom don't believe in the existence of the state of Israel, and then you have the Haredi parties, which also have problems with the existence of the secular state of Israel and also don't serve in the military. So those two are kind of the outlier parties. The most likely scenario is that neither of these groups reaches a majority coalition. Let's say that no majority is formed, right? Likud can't form a coalition with 61. Eisenkot with Yashar cannot form a coalition with 61. So now there are a couple of possibilities as to what comes next. One would be a minority government led by Gadi Eisenkot held up by the Arab parties from the outside. So the way that a government falls in Israel, the way a new election is called, is there is what's called a vote of no confidence. If a majority of the parliament votes for a new election, there's a new election. So what does that mean? It means, let's say you have 51 seats, and let's say, that the Arab parties have 10 seats. They're not actually a part of the government, but they don't vote to topple the government. You could have a minority government, that's what we're talking about here, held up by the Arab parties from the outside who don't vote for a new election. They just sit outside the government, right? That has happened before in Israel. In Israel, that happened when there was a government that was led by Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett. And the Arab parties were actually part of the coalition. Some of the parties were not part of the coalition. Then the government fell. So that's possibility number one. If no majority is actually found. Possibility number two, which is one that a lot of people are hoping for, is a unity government that involves both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Gadi Isinkhan, his chief opposition. The way that that would work is they agree on a rotating prime ministership where Netanyahu takes the first couple of years of the term. Gadi Isinkhan takes the second couple of years of the term. Now, there would be a tacit deal. The tacit deal there would probably be that Netanyahu, who at that point would be nearly 80 years old, would kick over into the ceremonial president's seat. So the president, the president is currently Isaac Herzog. He's termed out after a couple more years. That's kind of a ceremonial seat. Basically, you're a spokesperson on behalf of the state of Israel. And then you have the ability to approve a government that is coming in. People appeal to you and you tell people who gets to first try to form a government, essentially. So Netanyahu could kick there after a couple of years and you have a unity government that would actually be enormous. If a unity government was formed, it would probably be everybody from Metzalel Smotrich's party, which is a right-wing party to the right of, of, of, Bibi's Likud party. Maybe all the way out to Yair Golan on the left. Maybe, maybe not. But that is it. That is a majority of like 80 some seats, not including the Haredim or including the Arabs. So that'd be an enormous government. A lot of people are hoping for that. According to the current Kalshi markets, again, there are friends and sponsors. The odds of a Gadi-Eisenkot prime ministership have been markedly declining. Right now, top odds remain Gadi-Eisenkot. 48% of the money said it's Gadi-Eisenkot. 35% says no one. 16% says Netanyahu. Now, again, I think no one is the likely answer here. My guess, if I had to ballpark this thing, again, it's early. I would say the highest likelihood here is interim prime ministership in another election. Let's say that no, nobody is able to form anything. There's not a minority government supported by the Arabs. There's not a majority government. There's not a unity government. There's nothing. All that happens that Netanyahu continues the caretaker prime minister until there's a new election. And this is why you had to, you had so many elections in a short period of time. Remember, I told you that there were essentially six elections in seven years, but there was only one in the last four, which means there were five in the prior six. Right? There were lots and lots of elections over and over and over because nobody could form a majority and Netanyahu just remained as the caretaker prime minister for pretty much that entire period. So again, turnout is extremely high. Obviously, big rallies. There've been big rallies against Netanyahu throughout this entire process. Tel Aviv is a heavily, pro-Eisenkot area. Jerusalem would be a heavily pro-Netanyahu area. You can see the size of this protest in favor of Gadi Eisenkot. The polls are pretty variable right now. If you take a look at the Channel 12 polls, so Channel 12 in Israel is, would be like CNN of Israel, essentially. And the Channel 12 polls show Yashar, which is Eisenkot's party at 23, Likud at 21, Biachad, which is a sort of joint party between Naftali and Netanyahu, and Yair Lapid at 15. The Democrats, which are kind of the only left-wing party led by Yair Golan at 10. And then you get the Arabs at nine. Yisrael Beiteinu, which is a sort of hawkish Russian-Jewish party at eight. A couple of religious parties that each have eight. And Otzma Yudit would be Ben-Gavir. Religious Zionism would be the Zahud party. That would be Smotrich and Moshe Feiglin. Okay, so more importantly, for people who don't care about any of that, here's what the coalitions would look like in that Channel 12 news poll. This is the last one. This is the last poll taken before the election. As you can see, what you would end up with, if this is what materialized, is essentially the possibility of a minority government with the Arabs sitting outside, or a unity government. That is the possibility here, because the pro-Netanyahu bloc would be at 50. The anti-Netanyahu bloc would be at 56. Neither one would have a majority. And essentially, the anti-Netanyahu bloc would have to count on the Arabs to hold them up from the outside. Okay, so that is, poll sort of number one. Then you have the Channel 14 poll. So the Channel 14 poll shows something very different. Again, remember, according to that Channel 12 poll, Likud would be at 21. According to the Channel 14 poll, Likud would be at 30. So according to this poll, Likud would actually be able to form a 62-seat bloc. So you think that polls in America are skittish? Try polling the public when you have no great model of how turnout's going to go. When if you, if you drop below four seats, you don't even get to be in the Knesset in the first place. And again, when people are sort of trying to figure out whether they're going to vote for a fringe party, meaning like not all that many seats, like Zahut, or vote for Likud. So basically, nobody knows exactly what's going to happen. But here is what this election is not about. Here's the important part. Okay, number one, this election is not about American politics. It is not a reflection of President Trump. It is not a reflection, really even kind of on Netanyahu's policies. In every poll, over 80% of Israelis like the United States and approve of it. President Trump is wildly popular across the board, except maybe among the Arab parties. And maybe Ayir Golan's far left party. Here is what this election is also not really about in the end. Netanyahu's conduct of the war since October 7th. That has ultimately been successful. Remember, Gadi Isengard, his chief opponent, was part of the war cabinet from October 7th to June 2024. On many issues, he's campaigned to Netanyahu's right in Lebanon and also on Gaza. Eisencut, like Bibi, wants freedom to strike inside Iran. He just doesn't want to call explicitly for regime change. Netanyahu wants regime change openly. But in reality, Eisencut has said that regime change in Iran would be great. So there are really no big, major differentiations between Eisencut and Netanyahu when it comes to policy with regard to Lebanon, Gaza, or Iran. So what is actually going on in Israel? What's the election about? It's the same thing every election has been about since like seven years ago. Anger at Netanyahu over a wide variety of issues. Netanyahu is a Machiavellian player in Israeli politics. Half the parties in existence in Israel were started by one-time allies of Netanyahu who he cut off at the knees in order to maintain his position, which is, you know, to be fair to him, kind of what you have to do in a parliamentary democracy. So for example, Gadi Eisencut was head of the IDF and part of the war cabinet while Netanyahu was prime minister. Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett's party. Naftali Bennett was a member of Likud, Naftali, Avigdor Lieberman, who's the head of the Israel Beiteinu party. Avigdor Lieberman was a former deputy and defense secretary under Netanyahu. So again, half the parties in the Knesset were started by former allies of Netanyahu. There have been allegations of corruption that some people are very bought into. I think the evidence on those is largely specious. And then there is the biggest issue in Israeli politics, which remains whether the Kharijites ought to serve. This is sort of the biggest issue in Israeli politics that drives it so much. So the Kharijites represent approximately 10% of the Israeli population, 10 to 15% of the Israeli population and growing. The Kharijites do not serve in the military. They're not drafted. They disproportionately take advantage of welfare benefits in the state of Israel. And the vast majority of the public would like for them to serve and also to get jobs and not be so dependent on welfare. And that has been a holdup because a bunch of people who normally agree with the Kharijites who agree with Netanyahu won't join his coalition. So Bibi has been forced to rely on the Kharijites to comprise his coalition. And that means that there has been no deal on the Kharijites serving. So essentially what you have here is the two sides that basically agree on most policies, right? Eisenkant and Netanyahu, just if you looked at their platforms, are nearly identical. It's just that no coalition in Israel can form given the personal and political divides between the sides. Now there's been an attempt by the left-wing president press in Israel and also internationally, to lay all the problems of Israel's current PR situation at the hands of Netanyahu. That's cheap and it's stupid. The reality is that any long-lasting, significant war to extirpate Hamas in the Gaza Strip was going to be met by precisely the same allegations of genocide, precisely the same lies about Israeli activity, precisely the same level of ire. Now, it's true that Netanyahu's relationship with Joe Biden wasn't all that strong, obviously, and that the left-wing press despised Netanyahu. But if you think that if Gadi Eisenkot or Natali Bennett had been prime minister during that period, things would have been wildly different. That is not true. It just isn't. And that is why there are a lot of American Jews who have sort of convinced themselves that if Bibi goes, then suddenly all of their problems with their friends will go away. Wrong. It's not going to happen. If you believe the lie, oh, Israel's fine. They're fine. It's just Bibi. If you believe that lie, then you're having the wool pulled over your eyes. For a couple of months, if Eisenkot becomes prime minister, then there will be a sort of truce. In terms of PR, a slight truce. And the first time that Gadi Eisenkot has to take actual action against the Iranian government, all that will spring right back into place. So, again, it is very easy for Americans to try to think that everything is about us. It really is not. Brazilian elections, believe it or not, not about President Trump, not about us. Israeli elections, not about us. Hungarian elections, not about us. Now, it's possible that the Israeli public could see Netanyahu overall as somebody who has already performed his main function. He did a good job with the war. He strengthened Israeli military dominance. But they're angry at him for October 7th. And now he's basically Batman at the end of the Dark Knight, the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. Or it's possible that Netanyahu pulls another rabbit out of the hat. Or that you end up with another interminable round of elections, just like a few years ago, that he ends up caretaker prime minister. Or there's a minority government, and that government falls five minutes from now. But here is what this is not about. And this is what the left-wing press are going to lie to you about. They will lie. If Netanyahu does not end up, and his coalition did not end up, in power, it is a lie that the Israeli public has turned left. That's absurd, and it's stupid. Gadi Eizenkot would be the first Sephardi prime minister of the state of Israel ever. He's a Moroccan extraction, Gadi Eizenkot. And for those who don't follow, again, Israeli politics in detail, that means that he is gut check, a non-left winger. His son was killed in the Gaza war. The notion that Gadi Eizenkot is some far-left Yair Golan type is a lie. And the idea that the Israeli public is overall to the left is insane. According to the Jewish Public Policy Institute polling, they did a poll, October 2026, 65% of Jewish Israelis call themselves politically right, openly. That's 24% who say they're strongly right, 21% that's right, 99% as moderately right-wing, 11% as right-leaning centrists. Only 10% identify as exactly in the center, and only 22% say that they're on the left. 22% say they're on the left. So don't listen to the pundits on CNN who don't know what they're talking about. They pretend to know, or the New York Times. They literally know nothing. Don't listen to Thomas Friedman. Don't listen to all the op-ed writers who once rode in a taxi cab. They don't know anything. Less than nothing, actually, in many cases. What they know is just wrong. Joining me online is my friend, Andrew Klavan. He is, of course, the host of The Andrew Klavan Show. He has a brand new book, Find Me Nowhere. It is out today. Andrew, thanks so much for taking the time. Good to see you, Ben. How you doing? You know, thank God, doing pretty well. But you have a brand new book out. So first of all, you know, I don't know how you churn books this quickly. I mean, you churn books faster than pretty much anyone except for me. But you churn books really, really, really fast. And this one is another one in the Cameron Winter series. So walk people through the Cameron Winter series. You've never read one of those books. And why do you think this book is important?
Speaker 20Well, first of all, doing a series does make you work a little faster because you've already got the main character and you're really assembling around him all the time. This started out as a Christmas book. Someone asked me to write and that came out so well that I started to kind of develop the character and just stick with the character, which I've never done before. I've written trilogies, but I've never written a series. And it's become a meditation on how a guy who's not maybe such a good man becomes a good man in a country where the establishment has fallen apart. This country kind of recognizably, like our own, where the people in power, the people who create opinions, the people who are taxed with spreading the news and giving us information have all failed us. And so we have nobody who's paying attention to the things that matter, the virtues that matter, that make America what it is, that are central to America. So here's this one guy who worked for the government, who killed people for the government. And now he thinks like, who exactly was I working for? What exactly was I doing? And how do I take this skill that I have, which is killing people, use it for the good? How do you go about doing that? And I was kind of inspired by the fact that in the 90s, when I was writing these novels that were being made into movies and winning prizes and all this stuff before my politics became known, I was writing these kind of bad guy characters who did good things. And one day when the golden age of television came and I was watching The Shield and Breaking Bad and The Sopranos, I turned to my wife and I said, oh, now all these guys are going to be on TV. You know, when I was writing them, people were saying, you can't do that. You know, you've got to change this character and I wouldn't do it. And then I saw, oh, this is going to be what television is like, bad guys who are appealing. And I thought the reason for this is that they've outlawed masculinity. So only outlaws can be masculine. There's no way to be a masculine person and a good guy in America, as we know it. So that's the problem this guy is trying to solve. And I think that in Hollywood, they can't solve it because they can't put down the feminist flag. They have to show you women who don't need anybody, who aren't vulnerable, who can beat up a man, they have to show you that. So there's no role for men as there is in real life as protectors and suppliers and providers. So now I've got this guy, he's gone from being, in the first book, he's tremendously depressed. He goes into this pit of depression as the books come on, they go on, he's come out of it. And now he's met the girl that he's fallen in love with. He's met this wonderful woman that he's just absolutely nuts for. And he's sitting here saying, well, what do I do now when my boss shows up and says to me, you've got to get rid of me. And I'm like, well, go in and solve this murder and it's probably going to get you killed. And so it's a story of these two killings that happened. One in near Afghanistan, in that place called the Fatah, that wilderness outside of Afghanistan, a soldier is blown up there. And then in a small Pennsylvania town, his father is stabbed to death almost at the same time. And so Winter has to go into this town. It's been abandoned by government. It's been abandoned by business. The factory is left. The government is shut down. It's been abandoned by the government. It's been abandoned by the a bunch of migrants. They're taking welfare and using it to buy drugs. So the gangsters have come in. And so basically Winter walks into this town where almost everything he does makes someone want to kill him. And so he's now in this kind of thing that kind of excites him, but also kind of makes him feel like, well, how do I make my way through this? And so I've become kind of obsessed with the series. I just finished about a week ago. I just finished the next one that will come out next year. And I'm going to stop there for a while. I've got to sort of take a break and think about it. I'm not sure whether that's the end of the series or whether there'll be one more, but it really has been a journey through this kind of speculative question. And I'm just a story writing guy. I just want to write stories that thrill people, but those themes kind of come in because they're the themes that are in the culture.
Speaker 1I mean, Drew, one of the things that's really fascinating about what you've been able to do is being a successful novelist in today's day and age is extremely difficult. The book sales are down pretty much across the board. People are just reading less than they probably ever have, at least since the pandemic. And so I think that's a really good thing. And yet you're still able to find a market for your books. What do you make of the decline of the reader and how can that be broken through? Or is this sort of the inevitable shift of the attention span away from reading?
Speaker 20You know, it's bad for the book industry right now. You're absolutely right about this. And I worry about people who don't read books. I worry about people who get these little snatches of information when you engage with somebody over the course of an entire book, whether it's fiction or not, you kind of can test his metal. You can sort of see, is this a person I trust? Where is, where are his weaknesses? Where are his strengths? When you just pull something off the internet, it seems like a fact, even if it's the craziest thing ever. But I'm not entirely sure that the situation is as bad as people are saying it is because people have always read different things. And, you know, when writing starts, Plato thinks this is a bad thing because it's going to ruin our memories. And like everybody, every doomsayer, he's correct. But there are other things that come along that actually make it worthwhile, like the storage of information. And so I think that I think it's going to be all right. I think we're, you know, real readers, true readers have always been the minority. We've always, in most places throughout history, most people have been illiterates. The difference now is that illiterates can read. And that's, that is a difference. It's an improvement, but it also means a lot of junky books clutter up the market that people who are essentially illiterate that can read are going to enjoy. So this, this quality of readers, it's not a class thing. It's not like, you know, elites read and the common people don't. In fact, I think rather it's the opposite, but I think it's, it's that, that person who wants to, uh, C.S. Lewis said this, he wants to make his life bigger. Your life gets bigger when you read, you know, when I read your book, I've got now Ben Shapiro in my head, of course, you know, I make you pay rent. So that's different from other people. But, uh, you know, when, when you read a story, you suddenly have a world of vision that comes from somebody else in your soul where before you only had your vision. And I've been reading, you know, since I was a teenager and, and it has really just made me a different human being. And I think a bigger human being. So I'm not sure that we're going to get. rid of that. The people who do it will continue to do it. And those are the people you write for.
Speaker 1Now, since you are such a successful writer, I do have to ask you the sort of obligatory question that I think everybody's asking these days on a broader societal level, which is what about the rise of AI? So the fact is that you can, you know, type a few premises into chat GPT and it will churn out something that's not complete crap. I mean, it is not, I think, you know, the highest quality is going to be Dostoevsky, but it's going to be pretty good. What do you make of the rise of AI? Is that going to kill the writing industry or is it just going to sort of separate off those who can use it properly from those who can't? What would you do with it?
Speaker 20Well, you know, a couple of, about a year ago, I was at a debate of some kind and I stood up at the end of the debate and turned around and the guy in back of me was a colleague of mine from when I was working in Hollywood. And I said, he was a screenwriter, you know, and I said, how are things out West? And he said, well, people, writers are terrified of AI. They're terrified that AI is going to take their jobs. And as you know, I have a big mouth and I, I immediately said, if, if AI can take their jobs, it should take their jobs. If you can be made, you know, put out of work by AI, because even if I use, and I use AI in the way the most minor possible ways of the search engine, occasionally I'll ask it to name a city for me that I'm making up or something like that. But, but I can take anything AI writes and make it better. I can give it soul, which AI doesn't have. I can give it humanity, which AI doesn't have. I can give it a kind of logic. You know, AI is, is simply a simulacrum of thinking. It's not real thinking. It's simply putting patterns together. If, if you've ever tried to make a truly important decision in your life, whether to have faith in God, whether the girl you're going out with is the one you want to marry, you know, that that kind of thinking is going to get you absolutely nowhere. And so only a person who can understand the pain of having a body, the pain of, of having death hang over him is a person that's, that's what people are, you know, there's sex and death and, and life and, uh, and virtue. Those are all human things. And AI can pretend to address those things, but in the end, it can't really address them. So anything it can do as the old song says, I can do better. And so I'm not worried about it. I think there are a lot of people who write for TV who should be worried about it.
Speaker 1Well, the book is find me nowhere. It's available today. You should go grab it. You should show the New York times that it should be on the New York times list. They'll try to job drew again and probably try to keep them off. But if you, if you sell enough of Drew's books, then we can overcome their opposition. All the books, all of Drew's books are excellent. This one is particularly good. Drew, thanks so much for the time. Congrats on the book. And it's fine. You know, where it's available everywhere. Thanks, man. It's great to see it. By the way, also endorsed by the presidents of the United States, quote, New York times, bestselling author, Andrew Clavin has just written a great new book.
