Ep. 2526 - Everything You Need to Know About the Daily Wire's New Movie, Confession

This transcript is a segment from The Daily Wire's program in which Ben Shapiro promotes his company's film projects and discusses the cultural and political threat of communism. He begins by advertising "Run, Hide, Fight, Infidels" and "The Terminalist," then pivots to a critique of Netflix's Narnia adaptation, which he says strips C.S. Lewis's Christian allegory of its meaning. In contrast, he promotes "Confession," a film he wrote about Stalin-era tyranny, directed by Václav Marhule and starring Rob Lowe, James Franco, and Nick Nolte. Shapiro notes the trailer is outperforming Netflix's Narnia trailer despite fewer followers, indicating audiences want serious content. Shapiro then argues that communism has resurfaced in the West, citing the DSA's open communist membership and Mamdani's collectivist rhetoric. He interviews Rob Henderson, author of "How Communism Kills Kindness," who explains how communist regimes destroyed trust and reversed compassion. Henderson introduces "luxury beliefs," where elites advocate ideologies they never endure. Shapiro accuses Democrats like El-Sayed and Talarico of lying about their records. He also addresses a controversy over his UT Austin remarks about Judaism and the Noahide laws, rebutting accusations from Tucker Carlson and Jimmy Dore that he wants to behead Christians, and arguing that Tucker Carlson's rhetoric could cost Republicans the Senate.

Speaker 1Folks, a military thriller can give you elaborate conspiracies, international threats, and enormous action. Sequences. So this right here is what happens when you leave one of the most important works about the West in the hands of the Hollywood elite with a budget of $280 million. This right here is what you get for one of the most expensive films in probably all of history.
Speaker 3Come to me. I'm a tanker.
Speaker 4Except for you. In the darkness. I'm the light.
Speaker 1Okay, so it's just pablum. All right, it's the desaturation of Western values. We're talking here about C.S. Lewis's Narnia. That's what that's supposed to be. But Hollywood, when given a story as precious and crucial as the Chronicles of Narnia, turned it into a glam rock spectacular featuring David Bowie and Led Zeppelin. Of course, they did the same thing with Lord of the Rings, which is about good and evil and a rebuttal of fascism and isolationism. They did it with Superman, where you can't say truth, justice, and the American way anymore. It's liberal agitprop, kind of day in and day out, the complete desaturation of Western values. Well, here at The Daily Wire, we're fighting it and we're winning. I'm going to show you the unbelievable thing we're doing in just one second. The deracination of the most fundamental ideas of the West, right, meaning robbing it of its meaning, just emptying it out through the most pervasive parts of our culture, film and movies. That's one of the things we launch our company to do. C.S. Lewis, when he wrote Chronicles of Narnia, the question was, why did he write a children's book that's basically a retelling of the Christian story? What he said was this. Why did one find it so hard to feel as one was told one ought to feel about God or about the sufferings of Christ? I thought the chief reason was that one was told one ought to, an obligation to feel can freeze feelings and reverence itself did harm. The whole subject was associated with lowered voices, almost as if it were something medical. But supposing that by casting all these things into an imaginary world, stripping them of their stained glass and Sunday school associations, one could make them for the first time appear in their real potency. Could one thus not steal past those watchful dragons? I thought one could, right? That was the goal. And that was the goal. But Netflix blew it. They blew it. And they got as a director, Greta Gerwig, who's kind of Christian curious, but she says that the Virgin Mary has pagan energy. And she says, God, the father thing is alienating as a woman. And she says, I'm interested in what women do in spaces that are primarily male in structures that are patriarchal. Most religions and religious institutions fall into this category. And Netflix handed this entire C.S. Lewis story to her. And what you get in response is a trailer that honestly just looks like a bunch of colorful slop, colorful Led Zeppelin, David Bowie slop, but with, by the way, a female voiced Aslan, the lion. And why does that stuff matter? Because when you take crucial Western texts and you empty them of their value, when you just take Western ideas and you just kind of destroy them in the name of what? Empty, empty pyrotechnics. That's a bad thing. Now we created an entire company to fight this. And we play. And that's what we did. And we did that. And we would out-compete Hollywood on their own terms. Now, obviously, we can't out-compete Hollywood at their budget. But you know what we could do? We could make sterling, extraordinary content that would challenge the best that Hollywood has to offer. And we are damn well doing it right now. So now I want to show you our trailer for our new movie, Confession. Here it is.
Speaker 5Confession. ♪♪♪♪ ♪♪♪♪ ♪♪♪♪ Professor. ♪♪♪♪ Let me out! You will remember your duty. This isn't heroism! You useless sod.

Six-time Golden Globe nominee and Emmy nominee Rob Lowe, who delivers, by the way, the performance of his career. It is that good. It is the best thing Rob has ever done. Oscar nominees James Franco, who, you know, here, right there, James is incredible in the film. Jennifer Jason Leigh, Oscar nominee. Cody Smith-McPhee, Oscar nominee. Brad Drift, Oscar nominee. But you're going to get to decide for yourself. You're going to get to decide for yourself. Here is what we already know, just from the reception to the trailer. People are starving for this kind of content. Character-driven, intellectually weighty, serious content that asks real questions. Like, what are the values we are supposed to live for as human beings? What does it mean to sacrifice for those values? How do we stand up to tyrannical forces that want to obliterate freedom and meaning? Here's the amazing thing. And this is really amazing. That trailer is currently outpacing Narnia's trailer on X. Narnia was released on the Netflix account. They have 24 million followers. We released the confession trailer on my account and the Daily Wire account. Combined total, about half of that. A little under 12 million followers. At the time we are talking, people have now watched our trailer than the Narnia trailer, which is insane. That's insane. Oh, yes. And just for good measure, Baywatch also dropped their trailer yesterday. You know, hot people running around in bathing suits. And we are almost doubling them up in terms of how many people have watched that trailer. That's correct. By the stats, people are as or more interested in our serious examination of Soviet tyranny and human freedom and the value of God in our lives than they are certainly about a film, including hot people running around in bathing suits, which means people are starved for content. They are starved for meaning and they want meaningful properties. Now, here's the news. The movie is set to premiere at the Warsaw Film Festival on Thursday. It's a big honor. And then we're going to follow that up with a one night run in 100 theaters nationwide. It comes out on Daily Wire dot com only November 11th. And here's what we wanted to do. We wanted to do something that was actual quality. That's just good. Not just this missional and that has a message, but that's actually awesome. That's top shelf filmmaking. The project itself is stellar. It's a piece of art. Again, it's supposed to tackle the deepest questions that we ask and answer them in a way that is consonant with the truth. Again, we are honored to work with this many unbelievably talented people. Rob Lowe told Deadline Hollywood is an incredible story of the human spirit and its survival against those who would crush it. Václav Marhul, the director, again, unbelievable. I've never seen a film shot this way. It's it's astonishing. It's truly a directorial accomplishment, he says, from a director's perspective. This film was truly a great challenge for me. I ventured into a genre I hadn't explored before, an intimate dialogue driven psychological drama set in a single location together with cinematographer Peter Menzies. I sought the most sensitive approach to directing and visual style, one that matched the story and characters, a wonderful crew and cast helped me meet that challenge. I mean, did it ever? It's unbelievable. Even listen, even people who hate us are, shall we say, shocked. Will Sommer, who has not exactly been a friend to Daily Wire or to our entertainment enterprises. He tweeted out the new Ben Shapiro movie starring Rob Lowe and Nick Nolte has an incredible James Franco reveal. Yes, it certainly does. Hassan Piker, as you may have noticed, is he probably is on the side of the villains in this movie. I think it would be fair to say even he replied Rob Lowe WTF. Our friend Matt Walsh tweeted out. I'm really excited that we made this movie. The cast is exceptional. Performances are very good. James Franco surprised me. It's a serious, intelligent piece of art with a real cast and a talented director with a distinct visual style. Exactly the kind of film we should be making. The trailer is a banger. Again, that offer is going to end very soon, 11-15-26. Okay, so why is all this important? I'm just bragging on our company. It's important because our culture is starved for a basic defense of Western values and art that reflects the serious questions we all have in life. That doesn't mean that every film we make here at Daily Wire is going to be a serious drama. We want to dedicate, ourselves to winning the culture on all fronts. Sometimes we're just going to make, you know, a fun action movie like Run, Hide, Fight Infidels or something. But we as a company are dedicated to the proposition that our civilization is worth defending on every front, including the artistic front. And that is what confession is about. And that's what I would say virtually all of the modern left has forgotten. Now, why do a film? Why write a film, which is what I wrote, about the Stalin era? Because unbelievably enough, we have now arrived at a point in our lives where we have no idea what the terrible, terrible, terrible our enemies in the world are. Let's say you wanted to destroy America in favor of one of these systems. You do a couple of things. One, you make people forget God. Second, as in corollary to that, you'd make people forget the individual. The reality is that members of the left in America have basically dropped the mask now. And when the Soviet Union was around, there were some members of the left who were openly sympathetic to the Soviet Union. That was true during the Stalin era. I mean, literally, the New Testament, the starvation of somewhere between five and eight million people, they covered that up because they were sympathetic to Stalin. But now people don't even kind of play around with this. Zoran Mamdani is sympathetic to full-scale communism. Abdulrahman Al-Sayed is sympathetic to this. Bernie Sanders is sympathetic to this. And they're not hiding it anymore. Here, for example, is an image put out by the Democratic Socialists of America. So they put out an image, as you can see, it's that red fist rising workers deserve more. And it's meant deliberately to mimic the imagery of Soviet era workers. Look at those images back to back. That's what it is meant to mimic, obviously and clearly. Nothing shocking about that. Nearly half of the members of the DSA, according to Manhattan Institute's Stu Smith, nearly half of the member of their leadership body identify as communists. In their December 2025, newsletter, the members of the DSA's Red Star Caucus celebrated Mao Tse-Tung's 132nd birthday. Hasan Piker, who dresses up as Mao Tse-Tung. He was on with a host named Ziwei. And he said that his dream for America is a United Soviet Republic of the US.
Speaker 4Now, what is your dream for America?
Speaker 6Full-blown United Soviet Republic of the United States.
Speaker 1He is dressed as Mao in this interview. And I just want to point out to you that we now have unsealed footage of what happened at Tiananmen Square. This, of course, was from the late 80s when there was an attempt to stand up to the Chinese regime. And basically, the Chinese just mowed people down. This is from Britain's ITN. You can see people bicycling, running away en masse from the tanks in Tiananmen Square. You can hear the firing. They're literally just mowing people down in the street. You can see the bodies in the streets of Tiananmen Square. Just bodies lying on the ground in their own blood. My bicycle's abandoned. So, again, just a reminder, when you dress up as Chairman Mao and then you run around talking about how it's a disaster, as Sasan Pekra said, that the Soviet Union fell, they're not hiding the ball anymore. Zarmand Dhani, at his literal inauguration as mayor of New York City, said that he wanted to replace the individual with the warmth of collectivism. This is just communist speak. That's all it is.
Speaker 7And if for too long, these communities have existed as distinct from one another. We will draw this city closer together. We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.
Speaker 1Again, that is very redolent of Joseph Stalin, who said the individual is nothing, the collective is everything. And Zarmand Dhani goes around quoting Antonio Gramsci, the Marxist thinker. Here he was.
Speaker 7These monsters take many forms today. And those who fund television ads that blanket the airwaves with misleading, and bad-faith attacks about Claire, Brad, and Dari, those who would rather spend far more on political contributions than they would ever be made to pay in taxes. In AIPAC, for whom the only thing more frightening than democracy being allowed to run its course is an end to genocide in Netanyahu's wars. They move millions, and dark money to accomplish a single goal, to preserve their power so that they can turn us against one another.
Speaker 1You know, when he says the old world is dying, the new one struggles to be born. Again, when he says that, he is quoting Gramsci, who also said, quote, the violent conquest of power necessitates the creation by the party of the working class of an organization of the military type, pervasively planted in every branch of the bourgeois state apparatus, capable of wounding and inflicting grave blows on it at the decisive moment, of struggle. Mamdani has also quoted Eugene Debs. Eugene Debs, of course, the famous American socialist, who was essentially a Bolshevik fellow traveler in his later iterations. He said, in this alert and inspiring assemblage, our hearts are with the Bolsheviki of Russia, these heroic men and women, those unconquerable comrades, have by their incomparable valor and sacrifice added fresh luster to the fame of the international movement. Again, nothing is new, but it was once old. And the Democratic Party is in general this stuff at scale, at scale. trail pretending that the Soviets were fine, pretending that the Soviets were good, mirroring, by the way, all the same propaganda that the Soviets put out about everything from America to Israel. It's all the same thing. It's the same picture over and over and over. I mean, it's why, for example, Code Pink is launching a tour in China while a grand jury investigates the Singham Network funding in the United States. Code Pink, the far left organization, literally went to China in order to marvel at the bicycles. It's like Tucker Carlson at a supermarket in Russia or something.
Speaker 8So here we are in China and there's something I wonder if you notice. Look, there's bikes here. There's more bikes. Where are we?
Speaker 7We're at a
Speaker 8university, but I wonder if you notice what I noticed. None of the bikes are locked. There's no locks on anything. That's pretty amazing, isn't it? I ride my bike all the time and I would never leave it unlocked in Washington, D.C. What are you trying
Speaker 1to say about the people in Washington, D.C., Medea Benjamin? But beyond that, again, this idea is from the communists that a brand new human will flourish if you just repress the people enough. And it's now spread throughout the West. According to CNN, the Spanish cabinet has now allowed a U.S. extradition request for one James Fergie Chambers, an American millionaire and Gaza donor. To proceed to Spanish courts in a decision his lawyers warn will set a dangerous precedent for the defense of the Palestinian cause in Europe. Chambers is an heir to the Cox Media fortune. He cashed out three years ago for a $250 million. And of course, he is a supporter of pretty much everything, including October 7th and calling the United States the great Satan. And he declares himself a communist. Again, communism is alive and well in the West. It is. And this is one of the reasons we have to remind people of this sort of stuff. Well, in order for the American dream to survive, communism must die a gruesome death. Communism is horrible. It's horrible. But here's the thing. Everybody has an opinion about the American dream itself, whether it's alive, whether it's dying, whether the government is helping people to achieve it or making it harder. But before we argue about the answers, we should probably understand the actual numbers, income inequality, entitlements, housing costs. What is the government actually doing? What does it actually cost? Who is it actually benefiting? Those are the questions behind my debate on the American dream with Scott Galloway, who again is on the other side of some of these questions. The debate is framed by an informative set of government facts from USA facts. Then Scott and I get into what those numbers mean, where we think the country should go from here. Agreeing on the facts doesn't mean agreeing on the policy. You can look at the same data and reach very different conclusions. And that's where the debate gets fun and interesting. There are some sharp differences, some common ground and actual discussion beyond the usual political soundbites, rehearsed talking points. You should watch it. Weigh the arguments. You'll come away knowing more. It's how debate ought to be done. You can check out that full debate between me and Scott Galloway right now on the USA fact. YouTube channel. It was awesome to participate. I think you'll really enjoy it and find yourself smarter coming out of it. Check it out right now. USA fact, their YouTube channel. That's where it is. Joining us online is Rob Henderson. He's an author and senior fellow over at Manhattan Institute. He has a fantastic piece over at the Free Press titled How Communism Kills Kindness. Rob, thanks so much for taking the time. Really appreciate it.
Speaker 9Hey, thanks, Ben. Great to be here.
Speaker 1So there's this misnomer that's been going around and that Americans seem to have widely accepted, which is that Marxism, communism. These are kindness filled philosophies. You see Zoran Mamdani talking about the warmth of collectivism. And in your piece, you recall what exactly communism looks like in practice. And obviously, we've made a film that very much explicates that. But this is part of a battle that I think a lot of Americans are going to need to fight in coming years, which is the forgetfulness of the American public about what communism actually does to the human soul, how people actually are manipulated under communism, what they actually act like. Why don't you talk a little bit about, as you say in your piece, what communism actually does to the human soul. Well, by the way, the
Speaker 9trailer for Confession looks fantastic. I'm really looking forward to watching it. There aren't enough films, I think, about that period of history. I mean, one of those, I thought it was like Mr. Jones, but there are just shockingly few films depicting the horrors of the shocking manipulative tactics and the mind games that the communists would play to extract mostly false confession. So I'm really looking forward to the film. But to your question, look, nearly half of the DSA's membership, they openly identify as communists, right? Like, it's not a secret anymore that there's increasing support for communism, increasing visibility for the DSA. And in their newsletter, the Red Star Caucus of the DSA, they celebrated Mao's 132nd birthday. And so they're no longer playing this interesting game. They used to just say, we're not communists, we're democratic socialists, we like the Nordic model. And yet, when you heard them speak, you would never hear them quote, you know, like a Swedish political leader or some Norwegian political philosopher. They were always quoting Mao Zedong. They were quoting Karl Marx, Lenin, Joseph Stalin. And so now, you know, the cat is out of the bag. We understand who these people are. And so I thought it was important to understand, well, what is life like under communism, under Mao, who these people seem to love so much? And to me, the most important book to understand this is a book called Chinese Shadows by the Australian-Belgian scholar Simon Lee. So he wrote this book in the 19th century. And it's a book that I think is really, really interesting. And it's a book that he wrote in the 1970s, shortly after the Cultural Revolution in China. And he described this sort of atmosphere of electric tension, of this fear. And so this piece is titled How Communism Kills Kindness. Well, one way that it killed kindness was to make everyone incredibly suspicious of one another. So when we talk about communism, people will often focus on the economic catastrophes, the famines, the shockingly high death tolls. But I was also interested in kind of the everyday ordinary interactions between people. And so people were suspicious of their friends, of their neighbors. People were denouncing family members. And there was this fear that even if you spoke about nonpolitical topics, that someone might accuse you of being an enemy of the regime. And during this period, they were rewriting and revising the museum exhibitions. They were rewriting the textbooks in order to keep up with the latest fashionable orthodoxy of the day. And they were even doing this with individuals. So someone like Mao was described as being well off, or rather, someone like Mao was described as being a member of the working class, despite the fact that Mao himself was well off. He grew up with prosperous landowning families, family members, and yet he was described as a member of the working class. And if someone was actually poor and grew up in sort of dire poverty, they were often described as wealthy capitalists simply because they spoke out against the regime or were accused of speaking out against the regime. And so they were rewriting the history, the histories of individuals. There's an old Soviet joke that I like here. I think you'll appreciate, Ben, which is that under communism, the future is certain. It is only the past that is unpredictable.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I think that it's such a great point because the reality is that we know what communism looks like, and it does, in fact, look the same in every place. And so if you have softer versions of communism, which is now what is being promoted philosophically by people ranging from Bernie Sanders, who's our mom, Donnie, when you have that being promoted, it comes along with a softer version of these kinds of repressive tactics, the attempt to rewrite history or rewrite reality, the abuse and misuse of language, the idea that freedom itself is somehow an imposition on the great promise of Marxism was that if we level all material circumstance, the human soul would change. And as it turns out, the great irony of Marxism is that when you try to level all material circumstance, the only choice you have is to crush the human soul. And that is the common thread in all of this. And that's why it's never been true that when Bernie Sanders says, I just want the Nordic model, but he's vacationing in the Soviet Union or hanging out in Cuba. It's never been that these folks just want a capitalist system like, say, Norway with a bunch of social welfare systems stacked on top. That's been an argument inside the West. It's basically the German progressive era of the late 19th century. That's not what they're talking about. And as you say, the cat is really out of the bag on this one, because now you have the DSA, which openly stands these people. You have Hassan Piker is a great example of this just because he's the id of the Democratic Party. He just kind of goes out there and does it. He literally dresses up like Chairman Mao and makes excuses for the death of 40 million people in the great leap forward or pretends away or hand waves away what happened in Tiananmen Square in pursuit of the so-called greater good. The amount of cruelty that is required by communism is extraordinarily well documented historically. And yet in the West, people know virtually nothing about this.
Speaker 9Yeah, no, that's right. I mean, when you when you demolish economic hierarchies, as they attempted to do in these communist societies, it's not as if people suddenly became completely egalitarian. Rather, a lot of that energy was rechanneled into political hierarchies. So now it wasn't about how much money you had, but it was about political favors, connections, being in good standing with the regime. And that actually turned out to be worse for people. It turns out that when you are free and able to achieve prosperity on your own and live in a free market society, that that's actually healthier and people are happier in those situations. So I think that's a really good example of how you can do that. And I think that's a really good example of how you can do that. well, the only reason people would commit crime is because their needs aren't being met. These same people, will then say the true criminals are the billionaires. Okay, so which is it? Does having your material needs met prevent you from committing crime, or does having your material needs met turn you into a criminal? There's a contradiction there that very few people seem to identify. And you mentioned Mom Donnie. He's an interesting case here because he sort of carries on in this tradition of using sort of working class aesthetics, this kind of cosplay. And during his campaign, he would wear a hoodie and eat a burrito on the subway and try to look like a man of the people. But we know he comes from an affluent background, upper middle class, but he talks a big game about being a champion of the working class. And I find that there's an interesting asymmetry here, Ben, which is that if you were a non-college graduate working class person, and most of your supporters are non-college graduate working class people, but you claim to be the voice of the college-educated upper middle class, a lot of people would laugh. They would say that's clearly untrue. But you can be a college graduate member of the upper middle class, and most of your support can come from upper middle class college graduates. And you can say, OK, but I'm the voice. I'm the voice of the working class. People just accept this without any problem. So if you're at the top, you can claim to speak for people at the bottom, I guess, as long as you're a socialist. But if you're at the bottom and you try to speak for people at the top, that's just unacceptable.
Speaker 1And this is something that's been common, again, throughout communist revolutionary societies, is one of the great things that Marx got pretty much everything wrong, is a predictive mechanism. Marxism is a total failure. And what people don't understand when they read Marx or look through Das Kapital is that if you were going to make a defense of Marx to say that he wasn't attempting a tyrannical repression, you'd have to make the argument that he was making a historically determinist argument, right, that he was saying that the inevitable flow of history would move toward his position, not that there ought to be a violent class revolution that results in the death of millions of people, but that eventually history would move in his direction. There would be a miseration of the workers. There would be late stage capitalism and all that. And none of that ever happened. It just didn't happen at all. It turned out the industrial revolution, for example, greatly enriched the societies that participated and the immiserated societies were the ones that tried to level all income. He thought, for example, that Marxism would get its real footing in industrialized countries like Great Britain. And it turns out that Marxism instead was only able to achieve footing in the direly impoverished country of Russia and not started by the direly impoverished, led by, as you say, downwardly mobile college educated elite. Lenin was a downwardly mobile college educated elite. The same thing is true, by the way, of Ho Chi Minh, who studied in the West. The same thing was true of Mao. The same thing is true pretty much everywhere. All communist revolutionaries, yes, all communist revolutionaries are downwardly mobile people who believe that they have some sort of great truth that they must spread by speaking in the name of the proletariat, because the proles, of course, are the people who are too ignorant, too stupid or too poor to actually design their own system or to participate in the current system. And so one of the great ironies, and you see it really present in the DSA now, the DSA is disproportionately college educated white people who are downwardly mobile. It is not disproportionately people who are direly impoverished. The direly impoverished are very often voting either Republican or Democrat, depending on sort of their circumstance or their church attendance. But the people who are staffing up the DSA offices are a bunch of Columbia graduates in majors that are not likely to produce a lot of money afterward. And now they feel they're owed something. And so they're going to cobble together these and speak in the name of the proletariat and then launch a revolution in their name. And as you say, you see Mamdani doing this, pretending that he's a member of sort of the working class. He is not. Abdullah Syed is doing the exact same thing. Bernie Sanders is doing the exact same thing. All of these people are very well educated people who have lived in pretty solid material circumstances, but then cosplay as people who are members of the working class and then say, we are going to not only better your lot, but cure your souls by doing this sort of thing. And as you say in your piece, the great lie of Marxism is that the cure for soul sickness is a correction in material circumstance brought about by government tyranny. And what you end up actually end up with inevitably is the complete deadening of the human soul and the destruction of the human soul. If you read the works of Robert Conquest, or if you read, they read Bloodlands by Timothy Snyder, or if you read Darkness at Noon, or if you read literally any literature about the Stalin era, which of course I'm very familiar with having, having written confession, but also what happened in China, what you see over and over and over again in all of this literature is that everyday common life became unlivable. You were not allowed to have a conversation with your wife, with your kids, because the Soviet Union literally built an entire cult of personality around a fake story of a kid who informed on his parents and then was murdered by his parents. And they literally formed a cult of personality around this particular case and then treated that as sort of the way that you were to move ahead in the Stalin system was inform on your parents, inform on your kids, inform on your neighbors. And this would give you, you know, the thing that you couldn't get through capitalist enterprise, it would give you a status in your community.
Speaker 9Yeah, no, this is, I mean, that's And if you were a member of the wrong social category, then cruelty is the correct response, not kindness, not compassion. In that free press piece, I tell the story of the Soviet communist Lev Kopelev, who during Stalin's forced collectivization campaigns, Lev Kopelev describes being horrified at hearing the screams of children. And then upon feeling compassion, he immediately reprimands himself because, you know, you shouldn't be feeling this way. You shouldn't be feeling compassion. You shouldn't be feeling sympathy because all of this is in service of the communist ideology. Eventually, we're all going to live in utopia. So any sort of human feeling or compassion right now is it's a mistake. It's an error. And so everything became reversed. And we're seeing, I think, some echoes of this today, where if you are a member of the wrong class or category, then you shouldn't feel sympathy. You actually should be celebrated for being cruel. To that person, I cite one shocking statistic in that free press piece that after Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO, was shot in the back, 41 percent of voters under 30 said that that was acceptable, that it was an OK thing to do, apparently because he was a rich CEO and therefore a member of the bad category. You know, one of the dark elements or whatever that the term that the Chinese used during the Cultural Revolution. And so this is terrifying. I mean, a lot of people misunderstand this, that. You know, you actually get it's easy to feel compassion for your allies and for your friends. But the real test of that human feeling is, can you feel it for people who are members of disfavored groups or people that your group despises? So, you know, you mentioned the downwardly mobile elites, Ben. So many people misunderstand. You know, they think about class conflict. They think about sort of the Marxist framework of the capitalists versus the workers. But increasingly what we're seeing and we even saw this during the Russian. Revolution is that the battle isn't really between the haves and the have nots. It's between the haves and the have mores. So you have these downwardly mobile elites who were raised at the ninety ninth percentile and now they're in their 20s and 30s and they've slipped to the 87th percentile. And this is an outrage. And therefore we need to flip the game board over and have a socialist revolution. And so these people who have slipped downward a little bit, they're looking upward at the people who are wealthier than themselves. Very seldom do you actually see this kind of organic uprising. This imagined idea of, you know, the oppressed and immiserated workers sort of coming together and toppling. Usually they are to the extent that they're involved at all. They're usually organized by a disaffected elite who can sort of discipline the movement and channel their frustration toward the goals of the ideology. And this connects with an idea that you and I have talked about, this idea that I've been working on for a while, luxury beliefs. So in this book, Chinese Shadows, Simon Lees talks about how Western Maoists, Western intellectuals during that time in the 1970s, you know, they praised Mao, they praised the Soviet Union, they loved Communism. They were celebrating this, but they were not living under the actual regimes. The ordinary people who were suffering under Communism, they didn't seem to feel any sympathy for. They got a lot of praise and a lot of applause from their intellectual circles and from their peers for being interesting and sophisticated and seemingly compassionate by supporting this ideology. But they were not living under the regime. They were not the ones suffering from it. And that distinction between sort of advocacy and consequences, that's crucial to understanding the luxury beliefs framework.
Speaker 1Well, that's Rob Henderson. Go check out all of his work over at Manhattan Institute. Terrific writer, great thinker. Rob, really appreciate the time.
Speaker 9Thank you, Ben.
Speaker 1Well, you know, one of the reasons that the communists are ever able to take power is because you have downwardly mobile people who don't know what they are doing with their life. You don't need to hire those people to your company. You need to hire the people who are good for your company. This is why you need ZipRecruiter. Speaker 2The midterms are not just one national race. There are dozens of individual contests, each reacting to its own headlines and developments. In Maine, Troy Jackson and Susan Collins are competing in one of CalShee's most actively traded Senate markets. Track the race live in CalShee's midterms hub and trade the outcome you believe will happen. A correct contract is worth $1 at settlement. Don't just watch the race. Take your position on CalShee. Use code DAILY, D-A-I-L-Y, to get up to $25 when you trade at $25. It's Kalshi, K-A-L-S-H-I, Kalshi. Trade on anything. 18 plus only.
Speaker 1When it comes to the entertainment culture, which is what we're talking about here, the reality is that the least offensive thing that many people in the entertainment culture that they're doing is taking Western values and basically emptying it out, right? That's what you're seeing with Netflix, where they've decided to apparently turn a historic Christian property into a 1970s cocaine-addled fever dream, appropriate for like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever or something. That's actually the least offensive part. The entire entertainment culture of the United States has been suffused now with anti-Westernism, like open hatred of the West. They've lost clarity, shall we say. You shouldn't lose clarity, which is why this segment is sponsored by our friends at Pure Talk. So we must talk about Kacey Musgraves. So Kacey Musgraves is a famous singer for a reason I cannot quite discern. She is also a wild leftist who is campaigning with James Tallarico, fresh from his flu or not flu, whatever it is. The other day, she got up on stage and she launched into a rant about Columbus because, of course, it was Columbus Day, which then we renamed Indigenous Peoples Day. For no reason that I can discern. Because, honestly, if you live in the West, you should be celebrating the fact that the West extended itself to the North American and South American continents. Like, that is a good thing. But Kacey Musgraves thinks not. Here she was.
Speaker 10Ooh, that's right. Wait, it's Columbus Day? It's what now? Yeah, no, no, yeah, actually, obviously, Columbus. Literally the lamest person in the world. To probably ever exist. Like, for real. What a loser. You're a loser, Christopher Columbus. We hate you. The radical ingratitude and
Speaker 1stupidity of people like Kacey Musgraves. Truly. Question. Does Kacey Musgraves think that people like her were native to the North American continent? Is that what she actually thinks? Also, another question. Why does she think that people from South America and Latin America, speak Spanish? Why does she think that is? Where does she think the term Hispanic comes from, precisely? In any case, if you are in the West, you should be grateful to Columbus for his discoveries and for opening up the West, like the New World, to Western values. That is a good thing. It doesn't mean it came without ugliness. There are terrible historic events. That's true for literally all of human history. But the sort of bizarre hatred of your own civilization that is evident from all of this is amazing. Of course, not a shock from Kacey Musgraves, who back in 2020 suggested that if you voted for Donald Trump, that was an act of violence against the LGBTQ plus minus. She also said in 2020 that America was founded on looting and violence. In a tweet. America is stolen land, she said, built by people who were stolen from their land. And she's the one who's campaigning with James Tallarico. Guys, Texas, is this the kind of thing you want to vote for? Really? By the way, Kacey Musgraves is also the kind of person who is campaigning with James Tallarico. She's the kind of person who on stage today gender reveal for parents, but only if they promised to support their child if their child declared themselves a member of a different sex later.
Speaker 11Okay, here, listen. Here's what I'm going to say. I will open this and tell you the gender if you promise that when they grow up, if they decide that's not the gender that they feel like they are. Will you honor that?
Speaker 1Just amazing stuff. And of course, is James Tallarico attending the Musgraves concert and campaigning with her? Because these are the values of the left. These are the values of the left. This is who James Tallarico is. Texas, is this what you want? Whatever problems you got with Ken Paxton. Is this is this what you want, Texans? It's not just Kacey Musgraves, obviously. It is also Haley Williams. She is a singer and songwriter, lead vocalist of a band called Paramore. In 2023, Billboard ranked her as the 13th greatest rock lead singer of all time. Well, she is spending her days ripping into the right, into Western values. Standing on behalf of illegal immigration, on behalf of Hamas. Here she was the other night yelling at everybody who had voted for President Trump.
Speaker 12I hope you got a little break. Please vote and I'll never fuck all these people. I got pieces of shit.
Speaker 4KKK look different.
Speaker 1They're the KKK.
Speaker 4And they will not win.
Speaker 12Until I see you again, take care of you and take care of each other. I love you so much, Louisiana.
Speaker 1Good night. In another one of her concerts, she showed up. With a dress covered in depictions of Satan. And started screaming about ice and Palestine, of course. She did this at every show on her tour. She's spitting and what a light. With a dress with Satan on it. Well, I mean, at least, at least, you know, honesty in everything. Advertising. And, of course, she says the greatest threat to American democracy is, of all the things, Christian nationalism.
Speaker 4Naturally. The greatest threat to American democracy is Christian nationalism.
Speaker 1Now, listen, you can choose what shows you want to go to and what shows you don't want to go to. I'm just going to point out that the artistic community is fully in line with the emptying out. Of Western values. She joined, by the way, a no music for genocide campaign in September 2025. Geoblocking her own music and Paramore's music in Israel. So, if you're in Israel, you literally cannot download her songs. Which, again, I feel like the Israelis can handle it. What does all this say? It says the artistic community has been filled with people who despise your values. Despise them. And all we're trying to do here at Daily Wire is trying to open up. Open up the entire artistic enterprise. To quality. That actually does not parrot this kind of nonsense. That doesn't parrot. Nostrums that you can find on a bumper sticker. On a Subaru. From 1937. Don't reward the people who hate your values. Spend money on things that actually you agree with, generally. Or, by the way, on companies who are unembarrassed to share your values. Companies like our friends over at Pure Talk. You can make the switch today. Tell all your friends. Go to puretalk.com slash Shapiro for Pure Talk's best unlimited podcast. We plan for just $29.95 a month for life. That is an extremely short-lived offer. It's not coming back. Go to puretalk.com slash Shapiro. Switch to the same wireless company. I use Pure Talk. Tax and fees not included. Offer ends 11-15-26.
Speaker 2They're dozens of individual contests, each reacting to its own headlines and developments. Track the race live in CalShee's midterms. And trade the outcome you believe will happen. It's CalShee, K-A-L-S-H-I, CalShee. Trade on anything. 18 plus only. CalShee products are not available in all jurisdictions. For more information, see calshee.com slash regulatory.
Speaker 1Okay, so, given the fact that the radical left has decided to fellow travel with all of this, and the fact that Americans really don't like it very much, Democrats have decided that it is necessary to basically lie about their own positions. And so, I want to take a moment to just go through what various Democrats have said in the past versus what they are now saying. And here's my view on switching your opinion. Free country, you can switch your opinion. I don't believe that you switched your opinion, and you're not lying, unless you can explain why your opinion switched. If you can explain why you were wrong before, but you're right now, then I will believe you. Otherwise, I just think you're dissembling. I think that you're lying. I think that you're doing a form of political takiyah, where you lie in order to achieve some sort of political advantage. So, head on over to Michigan. Mike Rogers, who's the Republican in that race, he points out correctly with Harris Faulkner on Fox, that Abdul El-Sayed has flipped on half of his major policy proposals.
Speaker 6Well, I think this is his ideology. I mean, he's flip-flopped on almost everything. You brought that up in the early conversation. He's changed as much as he can to throw at the game, to try to get your vote.
Speaker 1He's doing. And that, of course, is exactly right. Here, for example, is Abdul El-Sayed floating defunding the police, like many, many, many times. I believe that we do need
Speaker 13to defund the police insofar as defunding the police is disinvesting in the means of incarcerating someone or killing them on the streets. My experience, the police have never been. out there to help me, right? - Right. - That's never been my experience. And so when I see cops, when I get pulled over to this day, right, my heart races. Do police really need to use guns? Do we need as much of a police force? And I think that has to be the way we go. And that means both investing more in these services and it also means investing
Speaker 1less in police. OK, so that's what he said. And now he's saying we must fund public safety. So is he lying then or is he lying now? The answer is he's lying now, obviously.
Speaker 13But I want to talk a little bit about what we really want when we talk about public safety. What we really want is everybody to get home safe at night. And that means that we've got to fund all of the things we need. For some problems, that is going to be a person with a gun. And when you ask that person to come, you want that person to be somebody from the community who sees themselves as part of the community. And the problem is it's very difficult. To actually recruit or retain anybody from in the community. So that means we've got to fund recruitment, retention and retirement so that we can actually get people from in the community.
Speaker 1We need more, more funding. You see, he was just mistaken before. He said defund the police. He meant refund the police. That's what he meant. Or he's lying or he's lying. This is what he does. How about capitalism? Well, now he claims he's a capitalist. But of course, he's not a capitalist. He despises capitalism, which is why he wants Medicare for all and all this nonsense. Forgive the obvious question, but I know the answer, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Are you a socialist?
Speaker 13I'm not. I'm a capitalist who just understands capitalism. No, look, you know, the term capitalism, it was it was coined by a guy named Adam Smith. And Adam Smith said there is no market without morals. He also said that the biggest danger to capitalism was not government regulation. It was monopoly. And you think about all the stuff you've got to buy, right? Chances are almost everybody who's listening has got a phone in their pocket. That phone's probably made by one of two manufacturers. Got one of three carriers. Let's say instead of calling people, you decide you go visit grandma in another state. You're probably fine. You're probably flying on one of three carriers on one of two kinds of planes, Boeing or Airbus. We've got monopolies and oligopolies up and down our economy. It is anti-capitalist. Capitalism is just using supply and demand to allocate where scarce resources ought to go. I believe in that, but I don't believe that it was intended to allow huge corporations to dominate any given market.
Speaker 1So first of all, he happens to be wrong. Adam Smith literally never used the term capitalist because it didn't exist at his time. It took about 50, 60, 70 years after the wealth of nations for people to start. We're using that term as a way of critiquing free markets. But the reality is that what Abdullah said, he says it doesn't want monopoly. He just wants the government to own everything. So here he was saying that he wants that the public should own AI. Are you in favor of public ownership models like the one Bernie introduced?
Speaker 13So I want to actually take it a step further. Okay. I agree that we need public ownership, but I also agree that we need some system of public control. Like what is the point of democracy if it's not to protect us from existential risk?
Speaker 1Again, this is the game. The game is just lying. Abdullah Syed, he'll go out there and he'll say the only thing he cares about is domestic policy. And you'll hear his erstwhile defenders, who we'll get to in a minute, the Tucker Carlson's and Megyn Kelly's. What he really wants is to talk about domestic policy. It's just nonsense. It's nonsense. He spends 80% of his time on the campaign trail, particularly in Dearborn, talking about how much he hates Western influence in the Middle East and also Israel. Well, here he was in his debate lying and saying what he's really interested in is gas and groceries and health care.
Speaker 13Look, I told you what this debate was going to be. Him pointing at me. And saying all kinds of foreign names or him talking about himself. And I told you I'm interested in you. I understand that gas is too expensive. Groceries aren't affordable. I understand that it's really hard to see a doctor. And I want to solve that. And the reason we haven't is because we've got corporate politicians who are going to do the bidding of people like Donald Trump, the war in Iran, the tariff war, all the money he's taken from pharma. Ask yourself if that's helped you. I believe in money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for all.
Speaker 1He doesn't believe in money out of politics. He's happy to take money from his father-in-law, who is like a Muslim Brotherhood fellow traveler. He himself is a Muslim Brotherhood fellow traveler. His own staffers say it's a lie. According to the Midwesterner, Al-Sayed's former staffer, Jordan Dominig, after seeing Al-Sayed's clip denying Muslim Brotherhood connections, said, quote, For me, there was only ever smoke. Now, however, I think I've seen enough to say there's fire. Yes, I believe he was anti-Semitic based on comments. I learned he was largely in alliance with leftists in regards to Islamist organizations that make up the axis of resistance. It's especially troubling knowing that despite no foreign policy experience, he really wants a seat on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, which is totally insane. So again, Abdul Al-Sayed, if you're going to be a commie, Americans don't like this stuff. So you have to just lie. It's not just Al-Sayed who's dissembling. It is also, of course, James Tallarico. When he's not campaigning with Casey Musgraves, he's just lying full time. So go back a few years, and here he was supporting an assault weapons ban.
Speaker 14In 2020, on video, you said there should be an assault weapons ban, large magazine ban, and that God requires us to do more than our thoughts and prayers. Yes. If there was an assault weapons ban or a large capacity magazine ban in the Senate, would you vote for it?
Speaker 15Depending on the details of the legislation, yes.
Speaker 1So the assault weapons ban is still on the table? Absolutely. It's on table. Five seconds later, he's asked about it. He says, no, no, I love the Second Amendment.
Speaker 16I am a believer in the Second Amendment. I don't pick and choose between the Bill of Rights. I believe in the Second Amendment just as much as I believe in the First. We have a right to bear arms, to protect ourselves, our families. We have a right to own weapons for sport or for hunting. But like any. freedom in the Bill of Rights, it's not absolute.
Speaker 1Again, perfectly fine with full-scale Second Amendment legislation, but pretends he likes the Second Amendment. The transing of the kids, he's completely flipped. So he said that the way he fought for the trans kids in the legislature, that's what he's going to do in the Senate.
Speaker 17The way I fought for trans kids in the legislature is how I will fight for the U.S. Senate. And my position hasn't changed. I still think these should be local decisions, sport by sport, athlete by athlete. And I think I'm going to fight for the U.S. Senate. I think I have the most inclusive policy of any candidate who's running.
Speaker 5I know things are getting clipped and stuff,
Speaker 17but my views, my position hasn't changed.
Speaker 1And now, of course, he's reversed himself with regard to a ban on trans surgeries for minors.
Speaker 12You can confidently say there are two sexes, a man and a woman. Absolutely. Speaking of gender, would you vote in favor of a national ban for transgender surgeries when it comes to minors?
Speaker 15Absolutely. And in fact, in the legislature, I voted for an amendment. That would have restricted the bill in question to a ban on surgeries for minors.
Speaker 1Okay, again, he's just flip-flopping all over the place because you've got to hide what you actually want to do. Troy Jackson in Maine doing the same exact thing. So, he actually voted pro-life. He got a perfect score in 2003 for Maine right to life and another perfect score in 2010. In 2011, he was the only Democrat in the entire Maine Senate who voted for a fetal homicide bill. Now, he's flipping actually in the progressive direction and pretending, pretending that he is in favor of progressive abortion law.
Speaker 18Here in Maine, you know, I sponsored, co-sponsored, you know, one of the most progressive abortion access bills in the country. While the rest of the country is going the wrong way, here in Maine, we've been going the other way. I supported making sure that low-income women had access to abortion care.
Speaker 1Well, during his campaign, got to say, he is a weirdo and a very obvious weirdo. He did close his debate with Senator, Susan Collins, by burping. This is, didn't go great.
Speaker 4I have proven time and time again that I deliver for the state of Maine.
Speaker 1Uh-oh. Oh, no. Well, according to our sponsors and friends over at Cal Street, again, Democrats still hold an advantage in the Senate, according to the Cal Street markets. 62% of people believe the Democrats will take the Senate versus only 38% who think the opposite. Again, I think that's an overestimate of how Democrats are going to perform. But I also would like, for all the people who oppose the Democrats, to get out there and vote, because many of them are just lying about what it is they believe. When they say what it is they believe, by the way, things get worse. Josh Shapiro, widely perceived to be a prospective presidential candidate for Democrats, not going to happen. He's too Jewish. And he put out a tweet yesterday saying, as long as I'm governor, Pennsylvania will never be a right-to-work state. Well, we should point out at this point that making sure that unionization is your key priority raises cost in your state. This here is a graph of standard of living. And what you will notice, is that Democratic states, it means high prices. That is what this shows. And so, again, you can vote for Democrats, but you do so at your own peril. Alrighty. Meanwhile, it's time to take a look at what's going on over on X. So I've been embroiled in a few bizarre controversies in my day over on X. There is another one that is now popping up. It's weird and strange head. So this particular controversy around something that I said at University of Texas at Austin. So at University of Texas at Austin, a kid got up, student wearing a shirt that said Jesus is King, which, cool. And he asked why I don't convert to Christianity. And in the course of that explanation, I explained, after explaining that, listen, I believe my Judaism with precisely the same fervor that he believed his Christianity. And so if I asked him, what would it take for you to convert away from Christianity? I assume you'd say pretty much nothing could get you to do it, which is the same thing that I believe about my own religion, right? I believe the things that I actually believe. But then I got into a broader discussion about the fact that Jews are not asking Christians to convert to Judaism. We actually encourage people not to convert to Judaism. And here is what I had to say.
Speaker 9Is what would it take for you to finally become Christian and accept Jesus?
Speaker 1Number one, I have to say I'm always very flattered that so many Christians want to save my soul. Like, really, it's great. Like, I'm very flattered by it. I think it's wonderful. I have no problem with people who ask me this question. And as I've said about a billion times over the course of my career, I think that all Christians should go to church. I think people should go to church more often. I think it is good for them. I want Christians to be more Christian, not less. Now, as to the reasons why I am not a Christian, so obviously Judaism says, unlike your shirt, right? I mean, Judaism, one of the distinguishing differences between Judaism and Christianity is that Judaism does not believe in the divinity of Jesus, obviously. And when people ask what it would take for me to embrace Christianity, it isn't that I think poorly of Christianity. It's that I actually believe in the things that I believe in. Okay, so I believe in my own religion just as passionately as you believe in Christianity. It is not as though I feel a lack of Christianity in my life, and therefore, if you just sell me on Christianity harder, I'm going to move to Christianity. Okay, I believe in a full system that, you know, belongs to my people, and that I'm convinced of in the same way that you're convinced of your own religion. So it's not just a matter of you selling, you know, good arguments on Jesus. It would be a matter of me abandoning core arguments that I already believe about God and about Judaism. Okay, so in the course of this, I explain Jewish beliefs about, you know, other religions, because Judaism is a non-exclusivist religion. Jews believe that Judaism is for Jews, and you're not obligated in any of the commandments that the Jews are obligated in. And Jews believe, right, like the Jewish faith believes that you go to heaven as long as you fulfill seven basic laws, what are called the Noahide laws. And these are very basic things that all Christians, you know, with very few exceptions, fulfill just by dint of the fact that they practice their religion. These would be do not worship idols, don't blaspheme or curse God, don't murder, don't engage in prohibited sexual relations like adultery and incest, don't steal, don't take, don't eat flesh from a living animal, establish courts of justice, right? These are like the basic Noahide laws. And again, I think most people don't believe in the Jewish faith, people listening are like, yeah, I do all those things, so I'm good. Correct, you're good. Okay, now, I finished that statement there. This started going around online. And people started claiming that I want you to not believe in Jesus if you're Christian. And not only that, that I think that you must abandon your religion and become, quote unquote, a Noahide. This ignores the end of the clip, where I literally said, this is a direct quote, quote, I think you're doing a great job by believing in Jesus. I think that's great. I think you should continue to go to church. I think you should continue to speak out about your faith. I think Christianity in America needs a resurgence, and that's the greatest factor that will lead to a revitalized America. That is literally how I ended that exchange. Now, again, this entire fake controversy went crazy online because some liar named Chris Manahan put out a tweet that had millions and millions of views that said, Ben Shapiro urges TPUSA crowd to abide by the Noahide laws. Hey, now, again, I'm just confused. Did I encourage Christians to abandon Christianity, or did I do the opposite? So this came up again on Jimmy Dory's Godforsaken podcast. So Jimmy Dory, who's a fake comedian who spends most of his days speculating about how Erica Kirk murdered her husband, he had on Tucker Carlson, who we'll get into in just a moment. And he basically went into an old school anti-Semitic rant about how Jews are in favor of Christianity. And he said, You know, one of
Speaker 19those Noahide laws is against idolatry, which a lot of people interpret that they say that if you worship Jesus, that's idolatry. So that's the irony there. And here's one more reason why he doesn't want you to look into those 613 laws is because on 611 is always to remember what Amalek did, that the evil done to us by Amalek shall not be forgiven and to destroy the seed of Amalek. So that would probably be the reason why he doesn't want you to look into those 613 rules, because that means wiping out and genocide.
Speaker 1Okay, so number one, feel free to look into all 613 rules. Most of them are really, really, really boring. Second of all, if we're gonna talk about Amalek, which is how it's pronounced, not Amalek, Amalek, you can read the Hebrew, you're talking about a specific tribe at a specific time, it is mentioned in the book of Exodus, right? It's in the Old Testament. All this is coming directly from the book of Exodus. Because Amalek as a nation attacked the Jews as they're coming out of Egypt. That is what it says. And in Jewish thoughts, Amalek has not been a discernible nation for some thousands of years. In fact, when people speak colloquially about Amalek in the Jewish community, they are talking about people who are legitimately the most evil anti-Semites. So for example, you might hear a Jew say that Hitler was Amalek, or you might hear people say that Hamas is Amalek, meaning like Hamas leaders who are evil and want to kill Jews. That does not mean there's a genetic test that you can do for Amalek that requires you to wipe out an entire people. That is nonsense and a lie. And of course, I wouldn't expect Jimmy Dore to know anything because he's an idiot. But then Tucker Carlson jumps in on the fun saying that it's because of the Amalek thing, the Jews and Israelis, he uses them interchangeably, lost all of their empathy for other people.
Speaker 20Reasons I spent a lot of my life, you know, criticizing, attacking the Israeli leadership, maybe less judgmental than some people in that I don't think it's, you know, I don't think it's just Jews who do this. It's not. It's everybody is capable of this. We did this after 9-11. You talk yourself into this hysteria about the threats you face and we're, you know, we're facing extinction because of our freedoms or whatever story, dumb lie you tell yourself. And the next thing you know, you lose all empathy for other people. Because when you feel you're under threat, you don't care about anybody else. When you feel that you're the victim, you can extend no grace. And I just think that's in people. OK, so don't go down that path in fighting monsters. You can very easily become a monster. As you said, you're the first casualty.
Speaker 1OK, and and of course, he's saying Americans were like that after 9-11. We genocided everybody else after 9-11 in Tucker Carlson's wise view. And this is the same Tucker Carlson who will defend Vladimir Putin and also maybe Hitler. Tucker then went even further than this and accused me of wanting to behead Christians, which I have to say, like, um. Uh, what? Here we go.
Speaker 20I kind of like the previous arrangement we had in this country where, which was the WASP arrangement, where we didn't sort of press people on their religious views. We could all kind of live in peace. It didn't always work, but it worked pretty well, really. Most of the time. But now that you have people like Ben Shapiro screeching on about Sharia, Sharia is the threat. Sharia is the real threat. They're mad that Sharia bans usury, obviously. But like, I don't want to live under Sharia. I'm a Christian. But as long as we're so opposed to Sharia, here's a guy proposing a legal code in which my religion would be illegal. And according to Maimonides, who I think is a pretty good authority on it, I think, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Christianity would qualify as idolatry because, Jesus is certainly not considered a God in Judaism. In fact, it's very offensive even to use his name in a lot of quarters in Israel, in modern Israel. So, like, that would reduce Christians to a second-class status or criminal status, punishable by beheading.
Speaker 1Okay, so I'm just going to point out, Sharia law literally requires everyone to abide by Sharia law. Jewish law requires no one except Jews to abide by Jewish law. Also, being quoted Maimonides by Tucker Carlson, my dude. Now, I would love to hear his explication of guide to the perplexed. If we're going to talk about people who routinely behead Christians, by the way, there is a group on earth that actually does routinely behead Christians. They are called radical Muslims. In 1922, there were about 75,000 Christians in the British mandate of Palestine. In 1931, about 93,000 Christians. By the end of World War II, there were 145,000 Christians. Today, there are 190,000 Christians in Israel, both Arab and non-Arab. But take a look at Gaza. There are about 5,000 Christians in Gaza before 2005. There are less than 600 today. Bethlehem used to be a majority Christian city. Now, barely any Christians there. Lebanon used to be a Christian ruled state. No longer. But Tucker is very much in solidarity, very much in solidarity with Sharia law. Again, I love the aside that those Jews and their usury. Where does he think the original textual ban on usury came from? It's literally in the Old Testament. That's where it came from. The ignorance is astonishing. But again, it's amazing that I have to do this. But I'm just going to, I'll do it for the sake of just clarity. I don't know how many times I have to say it over and over. For a guy who apparently wants to behead all the Christians, I sure spent a lot of time telling people that they should go believe in Jesus if they're Christian and then go to church. I spent an awful lot of time doing that. Like a lot. Here is just a brief montage of me doing that only a couple million times. I don't know how many times I've done that. I don't know how many times here. More people need to go to church. They need to re-engage with the New Testament. I think that you should re-engage with your social institutions, including your church. I have a better prescription. It's go back to church. Church is where you will find commonality with other human beings, a higher cause. And my answer is yes, you should go to church. If you grew up Christian and that's your religion, you should go to church. And the restoration of church is the fundamental basis of a restoration of the West. Go to church. I say this is a Jew. Go to church. Why do you say that as a Jew? Because this is a Christian country. Everybody should go to church. If you're a Jew, you should go to synagogue. If you're a Muslim, you should go to mosque. I think it's very, very important that people go to religious institutions. The only way to solve that public health issue is you need to go to synagogue or church. Like, that's the only way to solve that issue. I mean, sounds like I'm somehow anti-Christian. But, you know, here is Tucker again, pushing the idea that Sharia law is just fine and dandy.
Speaker 20The rules are changing really fast. And the second people stand up and start attacking Sharia law and Islam, not radical Islam, not Al-Qaeda. I get it. I'm opposed. But two billion Muslims on the basis of their religion? Like, I couldn't find that more disgusting. And I've, like, basically kind of blown up my life because I'm now an Islam defender when, of course, I'm not a Muslim. And I'm not going to become a Muslim. I don't agree with Islam. But even more, I disagree with attacking faithful people who are minding their own business, worshiping their own God and bothering no one else, attacking them for their religion. Like, that's not my culture. That's not the culture that founded this country, that welcomed his ancestors and my ancestors. And he's trying to change it, where, you know, there are, like, religious tests or something. It's disgusting. And my ancestors who did found the country understood that. He doesn't. And I really resent it because it makes this country more volatile, more hateful. They're turning, they're importing the hate from across the world into my country.
Speaker 1And did you know, did you know that Sharia law-governed countries are just minding their own business? Did you know that? You didn't know that because you're not a f***ing moron. I mean, and by the way, if we're going to speak about American history and exclusivism in American history, the truth is that actually nine of the 13 original colonies barred Catholics from holding higher office. Like, the truth of America is interesting and complex. But this idea that I am somehow the religious exclusivist while he talks about how Judaism is a religion that promotes genocide based on literally nothing and defends Sharia law, which, by the way, under Islam is dictated. There is Dar al-Islam and there is Dar al-Harb. Dar al-Islam is the area ruled by Islam. And then the rest is called Dar al-Harb. That is the abode of war. That is what that means in classical Islamic theology. It does have an impact, by the way. There's a poll taken by Rasmussen. Sharia is a system of Islamic religious principles and law. Do you have a positive or negative opinion about Sharia? Aged 18 to 24, positive 43 percent. Democrat positive 26 percent. Which religious ideology poses a greater threat to America's future, Sharia law or traditional Christianity? Aged 18 to 24, Sharia law 28 percent. Traditional Christianity 40 percent. Okay, so why is this important other than just rebutting the utter insane stupidity of all this? Why is this important? Okay, if Republicans lose the Senate this November, it will largely be because of Tucker Carlson. I'll tell you about a compare contrast over the past couple of weeks. What I have been doing versus what Tucker Carlson has been doing. So last week, I traveled to two battleground states, Texas and Iowa, with TPUS. To urge young people to go out and vote and hit the streets and vote against the Democrats. By the way, again, I did this in 2024 as well. I campaigned with Tim Sheehy in Montana. He won in Bernie Moreno in Ohio. He won in Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania. He won in Ted Cruz in Texas. He won and also with Sam Brown in Nevada and Eric Hovde in Wisconsin. I held a fundraiser for Trump down here at Trump Doral. I did a campaign photo op with him in New York's Jewish community. Last week, we put out a full explainer on YouTube about James. We put out a full explainer on YouTube about James. regulatory.
