Ep 213. Social media is changing again, the rise of AI, the future of content, the next era of content creation + more!
from The Influence Community
1h 18m 22s
The hosts reflect on their personal and professional lives during a busy, motherhood-focused fall season. They share their decision to stay home with their newborn instead of traveling to Paris, emphasizing emotional and developmental reasons tied to breastfeeding and baby milestones. This choice aligns with a broader parenting shift where daily routines like infant swim lessons and new mom classes are prioritized for bonding. In wellness, they promote a new weightlifting routine that offers strength and energy, which they find more sustainable than traditional cardio. Fashion trends are centered around saturated colors like turquoise, with practical purchases from affordable brands like ASOS and Mango, though they caution about tariffs and quality. A major topic is the rise of AI on social media platforms, with the hosts expressing both excitement and concern—recognizing its utility in content analysis and organization, but warning against over-reliance or loss of creative authenticity. They also discuss TikTok's new features, like voice comments and polls, as tools for deeper community interaction. Finally, they recommend a realistic content strategy—creating 5 to 7 posts over a period rather than aiming for overwhelming consistency—to maintain engagement without burnout. The episode blends personal reflection, parenting insights, and thoughtful observations on modern digital culture, offering a relatable and balanced perspective on motherhood and self-growth.
- Hey guys, high queens.
- Welcome back to the pod.
Happy October.
- Yes.
- Happy October, that's crazy.
- It's spooky season, Scorpio season.
- This year flew by.
- Contact about me.
- I think Halloween.
(laughing)
- Oh yeah, I remember you saying this
like every single year, you don't like dressing up.
- Like I just, I tell you.
- Like I don't want to draw into it.
- But I think as Phoenix gets older
and gets more into it, it'll be cute.
- You're getting into it for your child.
So like this year, I'm excited to like
find a cute outfit and dress around.
- I don't know if you're gonna do it,
but she's family outfit.
- I don't think people do a family outfit
because they could like the first year they're so small,
they could like wear the cute,
like come out and just like, hunkins or things.
- Yes.
- Do you know what I don't know?
- Yes, yes, yes.
- The baby stuff is.
But yeah, so I need to figure out
what I want to just do.
- But I do love October because it's fall.
- Happy fall.
- Yep.
- Happy fall from our 100 year weather
for the next three days in San Diego.
- Our heat wave.
We're having this thing called El Nino effect
our weather really badly this year.
- Does it make it hotter too?
- I think so, but then also I think in the winter,
we're gonna have like a breezy storm.
- Yeah, okay.
- So it's kind of like a whole day, yeah.
We're excited to be back for another episode.
We love your guys' feedback and telling us
that you enjoy these episodes.
- Yeah, we love 'cause it's so fun for us to do.
So we just love to hear the feedbacks.
If you guys ever have any thoughts or notes
or anything you want to share with us,
please do.
Our DMs are always open.
But yes, we have a really exciting episode.
- Yes.
- For guys this month.
- Some fun trends.
- Some fun recaps and all that.
We feel like we can just dive in.
We always record during baby's nap time.
So it's like we have this window of like, she's asleep.
- Yeah.
- So yeah, I think.
- Cute, a little fee fee.
- Yeah.
- Okay, so what have we been up to?
- What are, what's?
- I'm sorry, my iPad, you guys is a dinosaur
and as the push button, I forgot to text everyone
that I started, but I also can't text that.
- Yeah, iPad, so I don't know.
- That's okay.
Yeah, she has the iPad with the click button.
But okay, September.
- I'll go first.
- Okay.
- While you figure out the iPad.
- Oh my gosh, this was actually a really busy month.
I went, did I?
- Yeah, okay.
I went to Greece, kind of spontaneously.
- So great.
- That was really fun.
- Yeah.
- It looked so good.
- Yeah, it was so beautiful.
Yeah, I went to create with a brand
and that was really, really fun.
So thankful for that opportunity.
It was just really cool.
And honestly, just something,
it's kind of out of my comfort zone
'cause it's very based around modeling
and I've never modeled before.
- Oh my god, I thought it was gonna be a lot of fun.
- So good.
- I'm really trying, like, practicing in the mirror,
literally practicing in the mirror, okay.
- Hang on, Paul, let's hold on.
Mark the time.
- Okay.
- We started.
So please take whatever you need to take.
- Three.
- Take 'em all please, but hurry, because we're,
we started.
- So funny.
- Okay.
- Love that.
- Sure, what was cut from that fiasco that just happened.
- Melissa's dog wanted to be in the video.
- Don't play with him.
- Okay.
- Anyways.
- Um, so like, now she's supposed to go away.
She just, like, I know what's a trick.
Literally, that's what my dog and my sister's dog does.
- Okay, so you were in control.
- Yes, yes, practicing poses in the mirror.
- And honestly, I feel like that sort of situation
is always like a fun little challenge,
like not knowing anyone else on the trip
and like you just like are out of your comfort zone.
So I really like things like that
and just like feeling creative
and kind of like a challenge
and like out of your normal environment
without like, people you know.
- Yeah.
- Which honestly, I feel like it's a really big growing thing
for me because I learn that.
I honestly kind of thrive in those environments,
which I really love about myself.
- Okay.
- Yeah, so yeah, I went to Greece and then,
oh, I was supposed to go to Boston
and visit my sister this weekend,
but there was crazy storms in Boston.
So I canceled that.
And honestly, it worked out.
I really just wanted to chill.
So I'm chilled, went to Zara Larson like two nights ago.
That was amazing.
She is so good.
She is an amazing performer.
I was like, I knew she was gonna be good,
but I was truly like dang.
Like she's gonna, this is just the beginning.
I just know it.
- Okay.
- So, yeah, those kind of my month.
Where are you?
- Well, let's see.
I did not end up going to Paris.
I posted on my stories if I was gonna go or not.
And I think it's just like,
it's just such a thing either way.
Like I'm still breastfeeding.
So if I go without the baby,
she's being bottle fed, which is totally fine.
But then I have to be pumping constantly.
And it's like, I'm not trying to save that milk.
So then it's like pumping and dumping,
but then you feel like you're wasting.
And I feel like there's mom guilt there,
but also like having to pump during the day
to maintain my supply
because I don't wanna stop breastfeeding yet.
- Yeah, I'm gonna make some.
- I'm gonna get to affect it.
So there's like that whole mental situation with it.
And then just being alone or not alone,
being away from her for like three days, whatever.
I feel like she's in such a developmental era.
- Right, yeah.
- She's like nine months and so a lot of things.
She's about to start crawling.
I feel like she's about to start talking
or like saying words.
And I would just literally cry and find this out.
- Yeah, that was so exciting.
And I just like could not like be away from that.
I feel like and so I was just like, you know what?
Paris will be there next year.
I will do all the things next year.
Yeah, so it's like I'm just taking this year truly
to be home and hang out with my baby
and all these things.
We, I can't remember if I talked about this in the last episode,
but I joined like this class.
It's called new mom's school.
And it's for a bunch, it's like the moms and their babies
and they play.
And so I did that for a little bit with her.
And then we also started her ISR swim lessons,
which is infant rescue swim, I think.
And so she does that every day.
Well, technically it's Monday through Thursday
and she does it for 10 minutes every day.
- Yeah. - And it's like 10 minutes.
- I thought it was gonna be very overwhelming
and just a lot, but it's honestly been so fun
to have something to do together to get us out of the house.
- Thank you.
- Yeah, and then we make it a whole thing.
It just became part of our routine to where now
I think we like twoish weeks left.
I'm like, what are we gonna do once it's over?
You know, I'm gonna just add that our thing is gone.
- Oh, yeah, just that.
And I think it's been so hot here.
So it's so hard to go out.
- Yeah, it really has things outside for say.
So we've just been inside playing and plays a lot.
She's like, just about to crawl soon.
So yeah, it's just like, oh, good being.
- So cute.
I feel like you probably feel really good
about your decision not going.
I feel like it's one thing to be like,
maybe across the country, but to be out of the country.
Like I get that.
- Hey, go somewhere closer, try it out and see how it is.
- Yeah, that makes sense.
- For me, I'm honestly like, there's nowhere else like it,
brother, like I don't know.
- Yeah, like you don't want to like,
so it's like you that make sense.
- Or nowhere, like I don't know.
- Yeah.
- I have to reach to go anywhere else at the moment.
So it's like, unfortunately, I'm going to go big or not.
- Yeah, I was like, you know what?
And like the financial aspect of it too,
like going to Paris is not cheap.
And like when I go, I love to just like look my best life
and like, now that we've got baby,
there's other things you're thinking about.
So it's just, everything was adding up to where like,
I knew I could do it if I needed to slash one or two,
but at the end of the day, I was like, you know what?
We were just in our baby era.
And I'm totally good with that.
I feel really good with my decision.
And like, I would be there and I just think about that.
And I'm kind of like, I'm really glad I'm home.
- Yeah.
- If that makes sense.
So good.
Next year, you know, we'll be that,
but not this year.
So that's what I've been up to, basically.
- Love that.
Okay.
- Well, see you guys.
- We've been working out.
We joined it.
- Yeah.
- Jim.
- Yeah.
- Wait, lifting.
- It's so good.
- I feel like I really see difference.
- Look at that.
- Yeah, I feel like I'm doing Andrew the other day.
I was like, honestly, I feel like you're lifting
heavier weight.
- Okay.
You guys, I am trying my hardest.
I swear to God, I've never been able to go past
like 10 to 15 is my max.
- Yeah.
- And I'm like getting to the point where 15's like
feeling good.
- Yeah.
- But yeah, I'm like, I told our trainer.
- You're doing it more.
- Okay.
- And it's like such a good cardio aspect,
which I love it.
- I love it.
- Because I don't do cardio at all in my life.
- Yeah.
- It's really good because you're constantly moving.
So I really like it.
- Yes.
I just love it.
Like it's, if you guys have like a weightlifting
like circuit sort of class studio situation,
highly recommend it.
I have seen amazing results.
- Yeah.
- And everyone says it's the best thing for you.
- That have like treadmills involved.
- Oh yeah.
- It's not me.
- Yeah.
- Because it's not what I'm interested in.
- Yeah.
- That's why I love this one so much.
- It's just lifting.
- It's just weightlifting.
- Yeah.
- In like time amounts.
So then you're keeping your heart rate up,
which is really good for you.
- Yes.
- And then you're like really sore during the thing.
But then I feel like about.
- There's a fly on you.
(laughing)
- I feel like after I'm not like super crazy.
- Yeah.
- Or like my, I'm drenched.
Like I'm like.
- I can still function.
- Yes.
- And I can still like have a productive day.
My next day's productive.
I don't feel like.
- Like it's taking me out. - Yeah, agree.
Yeah, it's been really good.
I love this.
I'm so happy I found out about it.
I literally wanna post on TikTok,
but I also don't wanna like blow it up,
but also she deserves to have it blown up.
But I'm like, no one is talking about the studio.
It's literally amazing, okay?
- Let's live in San Diego and wanna come.
- It's called Royal Training.
- It's really good.
- And then yeah, I do make lottys once a week.
So I love lottys.
I love swinging around on a reformer.
- Yeah. - Just love it.
- Okay, love that.
I feel like I, oh, you should try their mat sometime.
It's definitely different.
It's more cardio. - I know, I like that.
- I will say it's more cardio.
I know.
It feels more cardio.
- I've always hated for your whole life, you know.
- I would try to be a runner and people are like,
oh, if you run a mile, it starts to get better
and it never did for me.
- No, honestly, I agree.
I don't like running either.
Like you feel like you're not better.
- It feels like you're, like, there's something like,
it feels like it's like I'm breathing in blood or something.
Like I can't explain it.
- I agree though. - I agree though.
- Yeah, I said it.
- I'll do a stair master and like an incline treadmill walk.
That's it.
- Oh, it's okay.
- They say like running song.
Actually, that could free those.
- No, it's like hard on your bones and your body, so.
- Yeah.
- Oh, great.
- Not for me.
- Respect to the runners out there though.
- Of course.
- If you can do it, that's amazing.
I'm jealous.
- Yeah.
- There are some girls who I follow on social media who like,
I know they make it look so cute too.
It makes me want to run.
Like it looks so like you just get up in the morning,
put on your cute run gear and like you run around
and like, yes, but like, yeah, it's on me.
Maybe if I look by the beach, like, right by the beach,
but I'd probably still want to go on a walk.
Anyways, okay.
Influences of the week.
Or a month.
Influences of the month.
What was your influence for September?
- Every month, I'm like, I'm going to write this down
and I'm going to come prepared.
And I never do.
- Okay, I have one if you want to think about yours.
- Okay.
- Okay.
I feel like it has to be the color turquoise.
I'm like, I'm sussed, you guys.
- Okay.
- Like, I've been doing these like color blocking videos,
which have been really fun.
But my favorite like color combo right now
is turquoise.
I feel like everything like.
- I feel like that's the color of the season.
- I know it's giving color of the season.
So this isn't groundbreaking.
I'm sure you guys have seen this.
Oh my gosh, there's this pair of,
I don't think I can go this far,
but they're so cute.
There's like these new Chanel flats
that are like this caviar leather.
And they're, oh wait, no, I think it's suede
and they're turquoise.
They're so freaking cute.
But Tony Bianco has literally the exact same dupes,
but I need to order those.
They're so, they're like literally exact dupes.
I'm like dang, okay.
Yeah, so I want to get those,
but I've been getting so many turquoise things.
Like I just think it's such a fun color.
I've loved like saturated.
I guess like overall my influence is like saturated colors.
Like even more like my favorite like shade of pink
has changed, which is kind of crazy.
But it's giving like color theory.
I think I, even though I'm wearing like a baby pink right now,
but like I really do think I look better
in like more saturated colors.
I think it like makes things pop more whereas like I am tan
right now.
So this doesn't look too like bad or anything.
But if I, if I'm not tan like the baby pink
doesn't look the best on me.
So, you know, color theory, yeah.
They're on to something like.
- Love that.
- But yeah, it's definitely like my overall favorite
or overall like influence for sure.
- Mom, okay, I try, okay.
Every fall, I feel like, oh my gosh,
I buy all the fall things and I'm like, I'm good.
I'm not gonna need any new fall stuff next season.
- Every single time I say that too.
- Like there's new styles.
- So good and better and better.
So I'm trying to think of everything like I'm buying right now.
Like I saw your stories.
You put up some really cute ones.
- I'm loving like burgundy crock.
- Yeah, cute.
- Like the texture, the dark rich burgundy crock.
Looks so good.
Obviously I love suede, I feel like I talk about suede all the time.
- I love, have you been seeing those like triangle scarves?
- Yeah, that's a good one, yeah.
- Your neck, I've ordered a couple
and they're coming in soon.
I ordered one from Revolve.
It's like kind of like that handkerchief print on it
and it's two sided.
- Okay, I think I've seen that one.
- It's like dark brown on one side.
- Is it like a bandana?
- Yeah.
- Okay, I saw it yesterday, yeah.
- Yeah, I saw that one.
So cute.
- I've heard of white one offsets on.
- Ooh, I haven't checked his own in a while.
It's like a, like a toke one from either mango or naked.
I can't remember.
I think it was mango, because I ordered also,
this is zebra, like pony hair set.
That's a jacket and a mini scarf.
- Cute.
- And it's like all over my explore, but from mango?
- Yes.
- Yes.
- Also, I didn't order from naked
because they have crazy tariffs right now.
Are people shopping at naked right now
because I don't know?
- N-A-K-D.
- Yes, dude, I forgot about that side.
- Okay, I've been like, I've recently been back on.
- Wait, how did you know that?
- I wanted to check out.
- And there was a buzzard.
- Yeah, it was like, at least, my fear is.
- It was like, it was ordering like a $40 sweater.
So I'm like, I'm not paying that.
- Okay, I've seen the tariffs like up to the hundred.
- Oh, that was me, yeah, with Hannah Shonberg's brand.
- But they didn't even tell you, right?
- No, it showed up at my door for five hundred dollars.
- Yeah, exactly, at least, naked, saying it,
like, I think now, come me say it,
or they say it's included in their price.
- It's literally up, yeah.
- And some brands don't even ship to the US right now.
Like, fourth and fourth just came out with this stunning
suede, like, cinched jacket that I'm obsessed with.
But they really don't ship to the US right now.
- Okay, keep checking ASOS because they're on ASOS.
- I know, I've been checking ASOS, I literally DMed them.
And I was like, how do I get this jacket in the US?
Because I can't get it because they don't even ship.
And I literally would pay the tariff for it.
- Some things are worth paying tariff for it.
- Yeah.
- But I can't then, I can't remember,
they responded and told me a different site is gonna carry them.
- Okay.
- So, it looks like crazy.
- Interesting.
- I love the prints.
I feel like the, like, the fawn, the deer.
- Okay, allegedly that's like the new animal print this year.
- The texture on things.
- Yeah.
- So, I feel like that's, and I think trying to do something
is my influence.
- I love that.
I ordered some on, honestly,
I love ASOS right now, but they have a lot.
I ordered just her quiz one, I ordered some stripes,
triangle one, scarf.
But also, make sure to check Amazon, like,
I mean, okay, you know what, support these brands,
but like, for example, for 11 lemons,
is selling a lace one for a trend?
- For $80.
- It's fun.
- Wait.
- No.
- No.
- The scarf.
- Yeah, there's someone on Amazon.
I'm sorry.
- For a tournament.
- Well, actually, make sure you,
it's because sometimes the Amazon ones
are, like, not good quality.
So, like, who knows, but so funny,
'cause I was talking to someone about this recently,
about how they almost bought the for 11 lemons one,
and then they were like, this is literally fabric,
and they were like, why am I paying $80?
Like, you can go to my goals.
So, you know, but then you just,
I wouldn't think about that either,
if she didn't say that.
So, so funny.
Just.
- I'll find one on Amazon, order it in the compare it,
and then see.
- 'Cause, like, she was probably about the Michael's thing.
It's literally fabric, but maybe it's not.
Maybe it's good quality, who knows?
But these brands are getting crazy.
I must say, truly.
- Okay.
So, that's what I'm loving, and burgundy and. - Yeah.
- And my tone, cute.
- I know, they like really cute.
- I like them like that.
Are you gonna get the burgundy phone?
- No, I'm not, because I think all these people,
sorry if you got the phone.
I think all these people are gonna regret it
in the spring summer.
- Wait, why?
- Because it's not a spring summer color.
- Oh, I thought you meant the phone in general, okay.
- No, you have the color of that phone.
Like, you can buy burgundy phone cases.
- Yeah.
- Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- But, like, you're gonna put a phone case
on the burgundy phone, and it's gonna show
through the whole burgundy.
And then you're gonna look like you're. - Yeah.
- You have to get a phone case, like, that covers it,
but you can still see it from there.
- Yeah, you'll be able to carry it from there.
- Yeah, true.
- I think it'll be interesting to see.
I would love that phone.
- I would, but I just trying to think in the future.
- Yeah.
- And the phone is fine.
I'm fine with the 17.
- Yeah.
- Until the next phone can prove that it's better
than the previous phone, I'm waiting for all the people
to try it, to test it, to review it,
to solve the camera.
Like, I don't need to make the leap.
- I know.
I'm getting it because my family is upgrading,
or not upgrading.
They're just moving to AT&T, and then they, like,
have these perks where they try to, like, get,
like, they give you credit to get the new phone, so.
- Okay.
- Yeah.
We have lots to talk about.
- Okay.
- And a little nap time to stay ahead of this phone.
- Yes.
- I wanted to play a quick game.
- Okay.
- So, I wanted to play a quick game,
and we're gonna share our makeup products.
So we're going to be using,
but we don't know what each other packed or planned.
So we're gonna see.
Because I feel like our makeup used to be so similar,
but now.
- I have a feeling we're gonna have.
I feel like we might have some similar.
I'm really curious.
I'm excited.
- I set my iPad down.
And then we'll just type three.
- Let's do some zip-up.
- Okay.
- And some more.
I'm like dang, I want to film this as a real,
but we're kind of looking at.
- I already see.
- Let's see.
(laughing)
[BLANK_AUDIO]
- Hey.
- Oh wait, everything's like, okay.
- Following on a permake of that.
- Got it.
- So what should we start with?
Okay, let's start, like, kind of go and order, I guess.
So I kind of prepped two of some stuff
'cause I couldn't decide.
- Okay.
- So, okay, let's do foundation.
- Okay.
- Okay, ready?
- Ready.
- One, two, three.
(laughs)
- I knew you'd have the same one for this.
- You put me on.
- You put me on to this.
- Foundation stick is crazy, like, it's not messy,
it doesn't get anywhere, like, coloring on your face.
- That's your foundation stick, it literally makes,
it just, it looks like your skin, which I love.
- Yeah.
- And then I also have to bring out the MPH lay skin
for, like, honorable mention, the colors.
- Oh.
- Never heard of that.
- I feel like it's, like, kind of, like, the Armani municipal,
like, it looks like it's your, like, kind of casual everyday.
- Okay.
- You don't want to use your, like, your stick.
- Yeah.
- Then I use this one.
- Yeah.
- Okay.
- Love that.
- Okay, next one.
- Okay, concealer.
- Yeah.
- Hey, ready?
- One, two, three.
- Ooh!
- What's yours, hourglass?
- Hourglass.
- Okay.
- Love that.
Mine's, honestly, I'm not, I don't have, like,
a really strong affinity to this, but I've used it
for a while, and I like that it's not too, too bright.
Like, maybe it's just the shade,
but also the consistency is good, but it's the born this way.
Two-faced concealer and cream puff.
- Love that.
- I also like that one, too, though,
but I definitely have the wrong shade,
so that's why I didn't choose it.
- I hate it.
- Let's next.
- Bronzer?
- Okay, let me find one.
- Okay.
- Ready?
- Okay.
- Two, three, go.
- Okay, is yours powder?
- Yeah.
- Well, it's, like, honestly, I think it's like a powder cream.
- Okay, love that.
- It's super suede.
- Honestly, love the word suede.
- Suede.
- And I need my next daughter's suede.
- Like, yeah, there's an influencer in suede.
- I think it's really cute.
That would be like, honestly.
Write it down.
- Wait, wait, wait.
- No one take that.
- I'm just blaming it now, suede.
- Okay, it mines the two-faced bronzer stick.
This is literally my favorite, and it smells like chocolate.
It's supposed to.
It's called the Chocolate Soul Labronzer.
It is the creamiest, best bronzer ever.
- I have more cream products.
- Yes, 'cause of our skin types.
- Okay, yeah, powder.
- I have dry skin, you guys.
- That?
- Okay, and then blush.
- Okay, mine's a new favorite.
- Okay.
- Wait, I did too.
- Okay, I do have two too.
I have a powder and a cream, but.
- Ready, one, two, three, go.
- Okay.
- Oh, okay.
- Okay, I just got sent this,
and I'm honestly so surprised as to try it.
- Did you get this?
- Yeah.
- It's so good.
It is, if there's a cream product that's easy to blend,
like it's instantly my favorite,
and this one is so easy to blend.
And I do really like the color even though it's
a lot darker than I usually wear.
I think it's so natural.
And then for powder, I love this one.
It's the Make Me Blush by YSL, and it's so cute.
- A lot of, okay.
I love say products, 'cause they're clean.
- Me too.
- Oh, okay, I love it.
- I think it's really good powder, so this one is Nia.
It's their super sweet blush powder.
So I love that, but then I also love this one.
It's Patrick Ta, not too much.
I'm literally hitting the pan on this one.
- Ooh, wait, what shade is it?
- Not too much.
- Okay.
- It's such a subtle, okay, I love that.
- So those are my favorites.
- Love?
- Okay.
Highlight?
- Oh shit.
I don't think I grabbed one.
Oh wait, I have one in here from just packing.
- Okay.
- This is, I don't know if this is my favorite.
- Highlight, this is my travel highlight.
- Oh, okay.
- Okay, I'm ready.
- Okay.
- Oh my gosh, she's just so tiny.
- Mine is literally this, like, travel one.
I think the brand is called Joe.
- Oh, okay, I'm talking about that, yeah.
- It's French.
- It's cute, and it's like kind of breaking.
- Oh my gosh, yeah.
- Okay, love that.
This has been the highlighter I've been using
for literal years.
I don't know why it hasn't run out yet,
but it's your backstage classic.
And then this isn't a highlight, but this is like,
if I had to pick one makeup product,
that makes the biggest difference in my skin.
It's this.
It's the Say Star Glow.
And I put it on like right after my skin care
underneath all my makeup, and it just,
oh my god, it makes my skin so glowy.
So I love, love that.
- Okay.
- Okay, that's that.
- Okay.
- Um, lips or--
- Mascara.
- Okay.
- Okay, let's go.
- Okay, ready, one, two, three, go.
- Okay, honestly, love that one.
- I have been loving this one lately.
- I love that one.
- I've been using it for a couple of months,
but that one's been really good.
- Yeah.
- I love that one.
That has to be one more here, it's two.
- Why is that?
- Honestly, my actual favorite mascara
is the lashes we used.
You still wear yours, right?
- Yeah, yeah, we have lashes.
- Okay, like for the bottom lashes.
- Yeah, for the bottom lashes.
Like I honestly don't even wear much mascara anymore
because I love the fake lashes that last a week.
We've talked about this, I feel like,
but I do really like this one.
It's the extensionist from L'Oreal.
- Tell us--
- Yeah, tell us about it.
- Tell us about it.
- Yeah, that one.
- Okay, this is fun.
- Okay, okay, lip.
- Yeah.
- Like what product?
- I guess we could just do the combo.
- Okay, let me go down to my situation.
- I know, mine--
- See.
- I have to be honest, like my combo
is whatever I can find in my purse,
but I do have like a core favorite.
- Ready, I think.
- Okay. - Ready?
- Okay.
- Okay.
- Okay, so let's see.
- I need two liners 'cause I'll explain.
Okay, so this is makeup forever in wherever walnut.
This is like my everyday go-to.
But then this one is my lawless kiss.
This one's brown.
I love a brown lip liner for fall.
- Okay, I love a brown lip liner.
- And then I love a nude lipstick.
So right now, I switched between MAC,
which I couldn't find it.
So I got this one.
This is makeup by Mario in Flatiron.
I feel like it's just like--
- Ooh, okay.
- It goes on so well.
It doesn't make your lips dry.
And it's just like it was--
- Yeah, MAC is good for you.
- So then my gloss is from lawless again in the shade George.
It's just like a more neutral.
- Okay.
- So this is my go-to.
- Love that.
Okay, this is my like newest favorite.
I've heard so many people talk about this brand.
- Have you heard of that?
- Is it Wonder Skin?
- No.
- Okay, I literally can't--
I swear this is the lip liner everyone's talking about now.
So I finally tried it.
But it's the Wonder Skin liner in Saddle.
It's so good.
And it really is long-lasting.
Like I feel like I really need a long-lasting one.
Because before this one, it was the YSL like kiss shapers.
But honestly, they don't last that long.
They just apply really well and I like the color.
But I don't think they last that long.
So this one is like such a favorite.
I do really love the road.
Honestly, like doing both of these together
and just putting lip gloss on.
'Cause I don't really have a favorite lipstick.
- I don't really like the road, doesn't stay.
- Yeah, I mean, I agree.
So that's why I have to do the Wonder Skin on top of it.
I really like this one.
I don't honestly, I don't really have a favorite lipstick.
I kind of just like a liner and a gloss,
but I also have a lolless.
This one's just a pink one.
So I love like a dark brown liner
and then like a light pink gloss.
- Yeah, it's my favorite.
- It's a good color though.
- Okay, was that everything?
- Setting, oh, setting spray, huh?
I think we have the same one.
- That's too, I'll do my other one.
- Okay.
- Okay, this one is like the best thing
I've ever tried in my life.
I love this one.
- Do you like it?
- I love it.
- And it's so funny to feel like they send this a lot.
- They do.
- And I just have been putting it to the side
and putting it to the side and what's up about.
- I have so many now, yeah.
- And then all of a sudden, I feel like you start using this
and then I start seeing it.
- Everyone's obsessed.
- Everyone started using this.
So I was like, oh my god, I'm so excited.
- So I went and grabbed that and put like a mini
and I found a one like it truly just feels like
hairspray on your face.
- I know.
- And smells.
- Yeah.
- Like I sometimes have to double check.
- I know, I have to plug my nose.
I actually feel like, I really don't think this is good
for you, I must say, but it does last the entire day.
- Yeah, but then I also love say again,
I'm just such a huge say to you,
girl, 'cause it's clean and just like for your white makeup,
your light every day, like.
- Yeah.
- I haven't tried that one.
- So I really love that.
- Which by the way, I can't remember if we said
the one that I was talking about,
it's L'Oreal infallible.
I don't even think we said it.
The infallible.
- It's a setting spray.
- You can see it.
- Yeah, you really can't.
- Yeah, I think so.
- Okay, fun.
- Okay, fun.
Honestly, love sing-
- Love sing, she's in both makeups.
- Yeah.
- Come says.
- Okay.
- Live.
(laughing)
- And we could do that like.
- I know, every soft thing.
- Yeah, I like, I love to see what people are using.
- Okay.
- Let me open my dinosaur I had with my butt in.
- Okay.
- And dive in.
- Yeah, let's dive in.
- Okay.
- So first one is social report.
You guys, the rise of AI on socials.
I, you cannot escape it.
- I cannot run from it.
Like.
- It's, I feel like.
- You're just being slapped in the face.
- This is it every day with it.
- I'm just assuming these companies,
like if you don't have,
if they don't throw AI at the end of something,
like they're not a reputable company.
Like, I feel like everyone is racing
to like throw AI sloped together on their company.
I don't know.
But, how many mixed reports do?
'Cause then it's like, oh,
I think it's open AI.
Anthropic is trying to like,
[BLANK_AUDIO]
P.O. and like a public for like some trillion amount of dollars. So they have to remove a certain amount of things to like
Oh, they have to do all these things and it's like every company is running to like do AI
But then it's like all these data centers are being run and it's like yeah, it's like eating that
Yeah, it's honestly really scary and I wonder because now people are like, oh, yeah
We're gonna go extinct in like 10 years because of AI, but like did all of this happen before that or I don't know
Yeah, but there's a lot of AI updates on Instagram and with meta in general like have you seen the muse thing?
I haven't tried it. Have you?
There's some yeah something about it's like on top of Instagram. Yeah, I saw that. I just haven't clicked on it yet
Not yet. I honestly
Personally, I'm trying to use this minimal amount. Yeah
possible. I feel like transparently the only time I use AI is to like help me with emails. Yeah
Like wording things better. Yeah, I feel about my email and I'll put it in chat and just like
Slices up a little bit or yeah, and honestly, they have the best me sound a little professional and like whatever
That's it. Yeah, I feel like in terms of like creators and the creative aspect of
Our industry, AI will never be able to replace that. No, I feel like I went down an AI hole that made me legit spiral like I
Feel like I was trying to analyze everything I was doing like I was trying to make better ideas
And then I realized like first of all. It's what am I doing? It's yeah, and then I just
Completely stopped using it and just relying on like what I'm feeling and I feel way better
So don't go down these rabbit holes, but anyways meta launched mues
I haven't tried it allegedly. It's supposed to be it's supposed to help you with like multi-step tasks
Which is cool. I guess I feel like this is leaning more toward
Like parents who don't know how to do things like plan or organize
I
Don't I don't really know it says it can like help you plan trips and stuff
But I'm like what does meta have to do with planning a trip? I don't really understand tell it like oh creative five days
Yeah, three and a five year old at Disney. Okay. Yeah, I think it's that sort of thing
Kid-friendly restaurants, kid activities, kid hotels, like yeah, probably but also I've been seeing people use AI
It kind of has like an executive assistant or like virtual assistant
So then but like you can tell it to like read your emails or summarize them. Yeah
It sounds cool and there. I'm scared of it really deleting everything
That is my biggest fear one is it can literally has access everything and can delete everything
Yeah, this AI company could just like decide to delete everything. Yeah, and it's like gone
But did this guy posted the story saying that mues sent someone his address on Facebook marketplace and they showed up to his house
I think I'm screaming and he had no idea
That this like transaction happened
Oh my god, that's terrifying right dang kind of crazy. Yeah, that is really crazy. I don't know
I feel like this is also like it's just good scary because like I feel like we can blame sketchy things
Yeah, I want AI even if like someone could be doing it themselves. I don't know
Anyways, that's mues not really sure it literally like
Launched very recently, so maybe we'll hear more about it in the coming months, but yes, that's their little AI chat
Bot situation and then edit
No, I've like seen the pop up. I haven't used it
It's like it's like how we've always been scared of giving access to like your Instagram. Yeah
Yeah, like their party platforms, and this is a whole lot other thing that can literally do everything
Yeah, it's scary really crazy and then also on the AI train edits
I think they're finally and I talked about this in the middle of the summer, but I think they're finally
Rolling out that AI aspect that I was talking about. I don't think everyone has it yet
Because it's like an AI creative assistant on edits
You'll have a little like it almost looks like a chat bubble on the right bottom
Side like you'll see this like chat bubble and that's the AI. It's pretty cool. I use it. No. It's like their edits
AI, okay, so
Just so much AI. I don't know. It's a generating idea. Yeah, it's it's pretty much
It's honestly a really amazing idea and like I said in like
Middle of the summer it is really cool because it analyzes your content. However
It's kind of things that you'd already know in my opinion. I mean some you're in there. They'll have like good insight
Maybe if you're not a really analytical person, but like for example, you can say which of my hair videos in the last 90 days
Has the strongest retention and what did they have in common? So it's like you technically could go you could do that yourself
Like figured out, but if you won't yeah, it'll it's quick for sure
It's quick for sure. I honestly haven't really used it
It's like I feel like I have such decision fatigue right now
And I really just second guess and question myself on like if I'm using the bright text on my video or like
Yeah, it's gonna do better. So sometimes I'll like put it in and be like here like which one of these is the most
yeah, the most viral or whatever just to see what it things because it's like you're literally changing like one word. Yeah
You know, right, and so it's like oh like sometimes I'll test the videos on trial rules and it's like me getting dressed and it'll be like
Mom style, but still chic. Yeah, okay elevating motherhood but still chic like which
Very small variation of the word is gonna do better
So sometimes like I feel like I would use it for that. Yeah, like help me like fine tune and refine like yeah
actual text. Yeah, they're for an hour trying to decide. I know I agree
I agree I feel like I'm really trying my hardest to go with my gut because like I just okay after like being so excited about
This AI stuff for the past like few months. I feel like I'm finally at a point where like
It's I just I feel like yeah, it's cool. I guess if you want to go from point A to point B
Like way quicker, but I just feel like there's been so many times where I don't think AI told me the right answer
I feel like I knew what I wanted to post and like AI told me like something would be
Like would hit more because of this this and that but like it didn't and like I think it would have hit more
If I did what I initially thought so I'm actually really like not trying to use it anymore for anything related to like what I
What I want to post. I'm trying to do like my first instinct. It's like because I literally burned out really bad. Yeah, when I was
I felt like post my main one and then I'll post the other option to trial real yeah, and they like
Won't or I'll like they won't do as well the one that like
It recommended yeah, that's what I feel. I feel like they don't tell me the ones that always do well
Exactly, and if you do the trial, I think that's a good strategy like put one on trial rules put one on your feed
And then you can swap them. Yeah, if anything
But even with trial rules, I think sometimes I hit sometimes it doesn't I've honestly like kind of I'll post some things to trial
Reels, but I again like the whole AI thing. I feel like I was a lot more excited about it months ago
And now I'm just like I'm just gonna post it to my feet, but some things that I wouldn't normally post like the more chaotic like
Things I'll post on trial rules and see if like that hits, but
Yeah
It is cool. I feel like everyone should like try it out and like maybe it'll give you a good starting point to analyze your content, but
Yeah, it's like you want to be in the now and have an understanding, but still make the decision yourself
You want to use it or not? Yeah, I don't know because then it's like if we're all using the same AI
It's all going to tell us to do the same thing. I think it's making us
We'll start a lot more stupid and I think it's killing our creativity. So I'm trying to preserve it
It's good to make mistakes or it's yeah, I agree
I don't work because then you learn a lot from that too. Yeah, she's having
This bot tell you and it's like oh, this is actually gonna do well because of this this and that and you're like
Okay, but yeah, you don't actually like you're a robot like I don't know
There's just like little things where like for example if I ask them what photo is gonna perform best
I know it's always gonna be like the most aesthetic like that like someone else can see themselves in my shoes without me
And it doesn't always have to be my face, okay, but AI will if I ever show them a photo without my face fully front facing the camera
It will say this one won't perform because your face isn't in it and I'm like
Okay, this is just another example like I can't so yes, I feel like they're really cool tools
Maybe to like get the ball rolling like okay, these are strategies. I can implement myself into like how I think about
My videos and what to post, but like I don't know
I don't think we need to get wrapped up in it because I've been down that rabbit hole and I really spiraled
It can be good for like that and assistant little things
Totally creative strategy of how much you want to post how much yeah
You know post you want to break real stories whatever if you want to come up with a strategy like that
But in terms of the actual content yeah content creation and like also what I'm scrolling
I hate seeing the AI info like if you're post is tied with the eye. Yeah, I know
I feel like everyone has an aversion to that now because it's like this isn't real
So like what am I gonna do with this information? Like I don't know how what I'm supposed to do with this like okay, it's not real
so
Okay, yeah
So interesting
tag photos to your grid now, because someone added my photo that I
tagged them into their grid. And I was like, what? And I went and checked
notifications. I was like, what is this? Like, yeah. Yeah, it's so
honestly, I do really like this feature. I feel like it's just for business
there. Yeah, I feel like it's kind of cool because it's like you don't have to
collaborate with them, but it's almost like a, oh, this was cute. I'm not going to
post it, but like this person posted it, but it's cute. Like, I'll add it to my
future. I don't know. So I feel like it's cool. But okay, on the flip side, what
if we're tagging a brand? Yeah. Because we want them to like notice we're
creating content and building relationship. And then they post it on their feed.
It was that weird. Like, yeah, honestly, I guess like technically they could
screenshot your like they could do that themselves. But yeah, that's
definitely something to consider. But then is that also I haven't really looked
to into this, but when someone reposts your photo to their grid, does it say
anywhere on that post on their feed? Like, oh, original photo buying. Oh, yeah,
when you put it on your feed, it's not it literally is everything is from you.
Like, it doesn't even say anything about the brand. So it's like your name. Yeah,
if you're on there, yeah. So if you're scrolling it just is your post, that
they were tagged in everything, everything. So it's like you're literally just
adding the post from your feed to theirs. And it doesn't change anything. But you
can just see it on their their feed. So I guess like that is fine. Cause like they'll
people would see it's from you. Yeah. But that's yeah, it's still like organic
content. So I don't know, like really random. I feel like no one even thought
about this idea. But like cool, I guess. Yeah. Like that's cool. Just like
10 photos showing up here. Yeah. Yeah. It's like one of those things where it's like
we didn't need that. But like, okay, cool. Yeah. Okay. Also going back to edits really
quick, they're testing like a carousel thing. I don't have this yet. But I saw other people
talking about it. Like you can edit a carousel now. Like you can make a draft in edits.
And I'm assuming it's like a whole like text like yeah, like I think yeah, like editing.
And I'm assuming like yeah with the music too. So that's pretty cool. I'm honestly really
curious if they would ever do a trial for carousel posts because like that's a whole other
layer. But like I'm low key kind of curious. Like I don't know. I feel like that is kind
of interesting because I think I would test out other things maybe. So I have a feeling
that's coming. But we'll see. Especially if it's like on edits already. I don't know.
So yeah, I'm curious. I'm sure they're going to expand on that. Okay. Interesting. Oh, yeah.
And then like I guess the last thing is this is really small, but you can boost your live
streams now. But this kind of leads me into a different topic of no, like your lie. Oh,
what do you mean boost? Like I think it's paid spend behind it. Yeah, not an ad, but like
pay more so it can reach other people. So like they can join the live. And like people
will see it on their feet. I'm assuming. But people are saying it's that streaming is going
to be the next thing. But I don't. On for so long. Right. I don't. I'm personally not
interested. I don't understand. Is it only for video games or like what is it for? What
are the same thing as like watching someone do their makeup live? That's what I was thinking
too. Like I'm just curious how it will expand into our space. But for example, like the
people, okay, you know what? I feel like brands tried to make this happen so long. They did
with like the live shopping. Yeah. But that's more like. Yeah. Yeah. And like host does
shopping. Right. And like it didn't stay like for monetization purposes. Yeah. But I think
just streaming in general, like which is so interesting. So I would never. I mean, maybe
sometimes on TikTok, I watch people's livestreams. But like, okay, for example, you've heard
of like that guy, Clavic killer. Okay. So like that type of streaming where you're literally
like, like you were streaming everything you do. Like that sort of live streaming. People
are saying is like becoming the new thing because he literally streams himself in the club.
And like we watch these like girls come up to him. It's like really interesting because
everything's live and there's no edits. So like I was listening to this podcast, McQueen
Tana Mojo, and she was talking about this how she's what? Oh, I don't know. Yeah, I guess
you're right. Like that opens a whole new thing. But like if you didn't consent. Yeah.
I think he makes it pretty clear. And like if you go up to him specifically, like you know,
you're in the live stream. But like random things. Yeah. There's not really like any laws
around that. But yeah, apparently that's something that is making people a lot of money.
I've seen girls that you know, like they're like streaming on TikTok. Yeah. And I was like,
wait. Yeah. Yeah. What's happening? Oh my gosh. Like, okay. I think I'm just trying
to figure out like is streaming exclusively for video games. But I feel like now people
are saying like streaming like literally everyday things. I don't know. It's really interesting
and I really think something's like it's like building. I don't know. But just interesting,
interesting to talk about. And I'm honestly kind of want to look into it because I mean,
not that I'm going to be like, I mean, who knows? But like it's just funny. Yeah. But yeah.
So that's Instagram moving on to the last thing on that. I feel like I have to live in
a very like you have to like have a certain lifestyle set up. Like you either of alone
or you have. Yeah. Into it. Like that word. No need. You don't have a family. You don't
have kids. Yeah. It's like you're walking around just sharing everything and doing everything.
I think it's just so interesting because it's like what is the psychology behind like watching
someone like do their like live their life? It's like giving sins. But then it's like kind
of sad on the other end for the person who is watching it because then you're spending
your whole day. Yeah. Like watching someone's life. Yeah. Sitting there. Yeah. I've never
really understood like the live streaming for video games too because I'm like, don't
you want to play? But I have no idea. I can pick up strategies. And they're like, oh,
I would have done that. Oh, okay. So it's like it's giving to the world. Okay. I'm going
to like do that move next time. Oh, okay. I guess that makes sense because I'm like,
how is this fun for you? When you go play with your friends, you can like use some tricks
or combinations, whatever. Okay. Yeah. So it's like that's like so big for boys. I feel
like they're trying to figure out how women can like monetize and like put this into their
own niches. So it's really interesting. Okay. But yeah. Anyways. So I feel like they're
trying to like push that. What about? Okay. Next TikTok. Yeah, TikTok. Not really like
anything crazy, but you are just you might TikTok like people just comment the most random
things. And I'm just like, I feel like it doesn't happen on Instagram. Yeah. Like I posted
a video on someone's like your tag so on your clothes. And I'm like, guy, no, I just
opened the box and put it on like I know probably because I feel like TikTok like the algorithm
and you reach is so different. And then they like, which one should I wear? And then there's
like 10 people who are like, none of these. They're all them. I feel like TikTok's algorithm
goes out to instead of your followers, like to no one who follows you first. Yeah. Love
to troll. Yeah. Honestly, I wrote this down as a note because I never read my TikTok
comments like either, but it's just kind of, but I feel like I should because it like helps
like the community and engagement, but engagement. Yeah. Engagement. Like I just don't ever
look because I don't know. I think I'm just, it's like a reflex. Like I just like don't
look because people aren't mean sometimes. Yeah. I feel like sometimes. But I should.
I'll like like the comment and like comment like hearts or whatever because I want them to
know that I saw it. Like you can't just post hate on the internet and then move on with
your day. Yeah. That's a good strategy. Just heart you row. And then I heart it. And then
I'll just like agree with them or like heart hands or like, haha, you're so right. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Well, apparently they added polls that you can add into your captions and
like your comment section. So I feel like that's a good way to interact. I guess if you're
just like, which one should I do next? I know. Yeah. I feel like hopefully not everyone, but
yeah. I feel like that's definitely a good way to be more engaged on TikTok because I feel
like it is so different than Instagram. Like on Instagram, we're always in the comments like,
oh my gosh. Like thank you girl. Love you. And like it's very like, yeah. Like a reciprocated
effort. But on TikTok, it's I people don't have that strategy of like, oh, I want to engage with
my community. And then I'm going to engage back with you. And like it's a whole thing. Like maybe
sometimes, but I don't think it's like the first thing people think about. So I don't know. I mean,
I could use this strategy honestly. So yeah, that. And then also with comments, I think this is
honestly really funny. But apparently now you can leave voice comments up to 60 seconds. Like
like you could leave like a little voice note for someone which
Honestly, kind of scary.
How are they going to regulate this?
Because they will like it's lagging.
- And it's happening, like how it's going on.
- Oh yeah, like a transcript?
- Yeah.
- Yeah, I feel like people would be really funny
if this is like used not in an offensive way,
but random, but okay.
Once again, denounce for this, but okay.
And then apparently according to the TikTok newsroom,
they're leaning harder into like series style content,
things with episodes, things that like make people
want to come back.
So I mean, I feel like that's kind of obvious,
but apparently they're explicitly like promoting
and like prioritizing that type of content.
So just something to keep in mind.
Honestly, I feel like it's always good to have an episode
when I think about earn episodic series.
Like whenever I see one of those,
if I am interested, I'm definitely gonna go to their profile
and like look at all the other ones.
So yeah, if you needed a strategy this week
or this month, there's one.
Literally just like fall outfits,
like 10 days of fall outfits, 10 days of styling,
this scarf, like 10, you know, that sort of thing.
- Yeah, but I know how many days of doing it.
So I can't feel like I don't know that.
- Okay, so this is my strategy.
- Do one on a 10, but you don't complete it.
If you don't complete it.
- I will never do 10.
I will do five or seven.
Okay, I feel like it's okay.
I feel like five is digestible.
Seven is only, I'll only do seven
if I like absolutely no, I have, it's a week.
So I'm doing hair right now for five days,
but I've done this before,
and if I do wanna go over,
I will literally just change the next one
to like five out of seven.
Like I'm just gonna change it.
I've done this like twice,
or if I wanna end it sooner,
I literally make it like seven out of seven.
Like it's like on day like five,
and I'm like, if I'm saying one out of seven,
I'm saying seven out of seven.
So people don't notice.
Well, really, but I feel like a good strategy
is to start with-- - Just to like,
as the political person,
like, I would just have to like commit
and do this for the first time.
- Okay, also another strategy is like,
I will try, okay, the first day,
when I think of this idea, for example,
I've done this like a few times now,
but recently I did this, I'm starting to do it,
but on the first day, like film the first episode,
I'll try to film as many as I can,
and if by the end of that, I feel really burnt out,
I'm gonna decide to like not do the seven,
but if I feel like pretty energized,
and like, okay, I could absolutely do seven of these,
like then I'll make that decision.
So like on the first day of filming, film batch it,
for sure, and see how you feel,
and then you can decide on the days,
because surprise, we're not doing it every day,
unfortunately, like, this is my hair today.
I mean, I have like, kind of like not fully,
but yeah, you're gonna burn out if you like,
I have to do that every single day, maybe not,
but see how you feel.
- No, people used to do 30.
- Yeah. - Do you remember that?
- There was a trend, and it was so funny.
This girl literally said, one out of 365,
I'm like, oh yeah.
- This is not happening.
I think she got to like 50, and then just it went away,
and I don't think she actually got to be.
So yeah, I also feel like that's an overwhelming amount
of days, like I'm not gonna go back to your profile
and watch 30, like I'll go back to watch five to seven.
- Okay. - Anyways.
- I feel like that's a good tip.
- Five to seven. - Five to seven.
- I'm gonna take that.
- Okay, I feel like that's it, right,
for the social report.
- Yeah, I think so.
Some interesting things, honestly,
there was a lot more than I thought this month.
- Okay, so the next one, the trend report.
- Love it. - Fashion week favorite.
- Yeah, did you see anything that you really loved
on the runways, or were you watching?
- Yes, I feel like I've been watching, okay, let me think.
- Let me.
- I honestly haven't watched any runways.
- Oh, it was, I'm really liking.
Why is that all?
- Oh, okay, this. - It's a rough show.
- Oh, was it good?
- Arello, I think.
- Yeah.
- Where was it?
- I couldn't tell, it was really dark,
and there was a lot of glass chandelier,
so I don't think it was at their headquarters,
like they normally do. - Do you know what's their site?
- It might have been, I don't think so.
- No, because girls, we know what,
and I don't think they went to Versailles.
I think, or it could have been like,
where the Chacadero were they sometimes do?
Maybe there.
- Okay. - Like from the Eiffel Tower.
I feel like, I feel like I saw all the videos
on Instagram from New York, and currently Paris,
and love it all.
I just, my memory is so bad, you guys, as well.
- Yeah, and nothing really stood out.
- I mean, I love it.
- Was it giving, like, their, like, sharp laser vibes?
- This one is for Spring Summer, so it's not as crazy like that.
- That always, like, trips me up,
because I'm like, oh, why are we talking about squirrels?
- Yeah. - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Yeah, I mean, I've been watching
everything on social media, loving everyone's posts,
everyone's outfits, at all the shows,
and it really does energize me and make me want to do it
next year, so I want to be in a headspace for that.
- Yeah, shout out to our Influence Girl Leads,
Erin and Larissa.
They, yeah, their outfits are so cute.
They're so creative.
I love seeing their content, honestly.
I saw how Erin, like, made a skirt, and they're,
it's really cute.
They're always on theme for the shows.
- I know, they're so good at that.
I feel like a lot of, um, brands that did, uh,
presentations in New York are also showing in Paris,
like, which ones?
- Oh, okay.
- Did I mention in Paris too?
- Cute.
- Which I feel like they always do in New York,
but I didn't know they did Paris.
- Yeah.
- So I'm trying to think, like, where do I go to?
- Yeah, I feel like I saw, I mean,
it all kind of looks like the same to me every year,
even though it's, that's not real, like, not true.
Like, if I said that, like, to a fashion girl,
they'd probably be appalled, but like, for example,
I remember seeing, like, the Chloe show.
It looked like, really similar, type of a similar.
One thing I saw a lot of randomly,
is purple, have you noticed that?
- Oh my gosh.
- Yes.
- Okay.
Oh, I've seen a lot of purple.
- Unfortunately, I don't like this purple.
- It's almost like a, is it like a grape?
It's like a violet-y, like, a blue purple.
- Okay, I don't think I saw.
I'm seeing, like, grapey, like, violet purple.
And I've seen a lot of it.
- I'm seeing, like, the more, like, a periwinkle, maybe?
- No, I've been seeing, like, a blueish purple.
Like, it's, like, a true, dark purple.
- Okay.
Interesting.
Yeah, I guess purple is having a moment,
which is so funny.
I feel like purple's been, like, dead for years.
She's waking up.
- Yeah.
- Yeah, purple.
- I just feel like, again, like I said earlier,
in the episode, like, every fall,
I'm like, I'm not gonna need anything next fall.
- Yeah.
- All the brands do the crazy drops that are so good.
Like, I'm trying to, like, Zara has been killing it this year.
- Yeah, Zara is so good.
They keep having, like, really cool campaigns on their,
on their website too.
- Zara's been so good.
I love the brand because of Alice.
- Okay, cute.
- Elsa is about to drop an insane drop.
- Ooh. - I didn't love the last drop,
but this drop I'm excited about.
- What day, do you remember?
- October 6th.
- Okay.
- I think it's a Tuesday.
- I want to see a lot of brands do drops on Tuesdays.
And then, what else?
What else?
There was another one.
I'm just playing.
- I feel like I've seen a lot of fringed.
- Oh, and then he had a Sean Berg's brand.
They didn't drop. - And we've got to figure out about them.
- But I didn't, like, love anything.
Love, love anything.
Enough to buy it because it is kind of expensive
and outside. - Yeah.
- So, like, really, really has to be worth it.
- Yeah. - So, like, I'm saving my money in,
putting it towards Elsa.
- Yeah.
I'm sure she's trying to get on.
- I'm sure she's trying to get on.
- The wall has been doing.
Like, she just launched Revolve Magazine or something.
- Oh, I saw, like, they have Revolve the brand.
- Yes, they have their own like,
Alex Consani was something.
- That's the magazine, I think.
- Oh, okay.
- I also saw 437 posted that Revolve invested in 437.
- Oh, wow. - So it's like just a bunch of. - Okay, cool.
- Like, I feel like Revolve is doing things.
- Like popping off, okay.
I mean, it's kind of crazy to me that there's not
anyone who's pretty, like, I feel like Revolve's
literal shipping policy and like,
shipping time in general is like. - It's a song for. - It literally is.
It's a high-end, yeah.
Like, I'm like, how is no one replicating this
because it's like, if I'm the brand's website
and get that same return policy and the same brand.
- Yes.
Exactly.
It's like, their shipping and returns alone
make it literally worth it, like, honestly.
And, I don't know.
Yeah, they're, they are killing it.
- I feel like if you don't know what size to get something,
you can just buy the two sizes.
- Yeah, it's just so easy.
And we turn the one.
- I like read this article how brands who do that,
it costs more for them, but in the long run,
like, you have a more loyal customer base, yeah.
So, yeah.
- Interesting.
- Yeah, I feel like we did talk about a little bit
of fall at the beginning, but I'm just, again,
loving, swaying, buying all the things.
If it's swayed, I'm buying it, loving,
like, the animal prints.
'Cause it's like, they're neutral.
- Yeah, I love the animal prints.
They're definitely neutral, yeah.
- And then, yeah.
- I feel like I'm leaning, personally,
I'm leaning more into, like, street style, again, love.
- I was gonna say that.
- Yeah, and I really, - So like less, really,
- Yeah, I don't know.
I'm just like, maybe it's just like that era.
I just feel like free and fun and feels creative.
Like it just feels creative.
And I think there's more like personal creative expression
that goes into like that over just having like the bow.
And like you can definitely get creative with it,
but I don't know.
I've been like really loving it recently.
And okay, for shoes specifically,
I love a slouchy like boo.
Love a souchy boo.
Love a pump.
I feel like pumps are coming back.
- Like a thicker heel.
Like a big heel, like a like a stunning pump.
It just got some more.
And then like for accessories,
love a Baker Boy hat.
Like those, you know, one time I'm out the Baker Boy hats
that are like the flat caps.
I finally ordered.
I'm so excited.
- So it's a thing though, right?
- Yeah, like the flat caps.
- Like that RB brand on.
- They have some.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they have like a lot.
I ordered, oh and I'm like really trying to lean more
into like vintage pieces even though it's like,
harder to find.
But I got a Gucci Sofia Cuello has it.
And I just like finally ended up getting it.
But it's like a Gucci like newsboy cap.
It's so cute.
And I found it on Best Deer.
- Yeah.
- I'm so excited.
I hope she actually ships it
because it was a really crazy price.
And I hope she doesn't realize she priced it too good.
I mean, it's like maybe $100 cheaper than anywhere else.
I've seen it so it's still, it's not sus.
But it's like, like it's definitely real.
But it's like, it's a really good deal.
So I really hope I get it because I didn't buy it on.
- Not sure.
- Yes, my purse.
Like, oh my God, yeah.
So I feel like I'm just trying to lean more into like,
things that aren't like so easily, like rough,
like, replicate it, I guess.
- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I just love seeing that on my Explorer page
'cause that goes back to like everyone
looking the same at a certain point.
So I'm just like, so tired of that.
So yeah, I'm loving the fall fashion right now.
I think it's so fun.
- I'm good thing.
Anything else.
I just love fall, I love layers.
I'm working on it's hot.
And I just really wanna wear sweaters.
- I mean, while we can't go outside.
- I hate trench coats.
- Yeah.
- All the things, blazers, sweat.
- Yeah.
- Structure, I love structures.
- Yeah.
- I feel like Saison has actually had some really good drops.
Like, they have not.
- Down shirt where like they've been tied.
Like the bow tie, that wide shell.
- Cute.
- Okay, cute.
- It's like everyone's kind of coming up
with their version of that.
- Yeah.
- I think Elsa will too.
- A bow tie, like the, like the big bow.
Like, it's like a white button down,
but then it has like a big bow.
- Okay.
- Yeah.
- Sounds like I would love that.
- So, I just love fall, fall fashion is the best.
- Yeah.
- I know.
I agree.
I really love fall fashion.
- I just, 'cause I feel like fall really plays on textures.
- Yeah.
- For crock, for pony hair, whatever.
- It's like so chic, and then for winter,
I feel like we can't fully ever lean fully into winter
in San Diego.
- Yeah, it's definitely.
- You like to have to be in the snow.
Yeah, so fall is so much fun.
- Love that.
Okay.
So those were the trends we're loving.
Oh, last one.
The big sunglasses.
- Oh my god.
- So I'm gonna forget.
- I love the big sunglasses trend.
- I really ordered the cake.
- Okay, I think I have the dupe, so those.
- So I haven't come in yet.
They came back and saw it, 'cause they've been sold out.
But.
- Oh, I just got some from the brand Jimmy Fairly,
and they're literally beautiful.
Stunning.
- Love that.
- Love those too.
Okay, should we get into our Q&A?
- Okay.
- We chose a few to answer, and we'll answer.
Obviously, we'll get to them if we don't get to them today.
- Okay, sorry.
My dinosaur iPad is freezing.
- No, you're good.
- This is crazy.
I'm gonna know when I got this.
I wanna know how old this is.
- I feel like it's like 20s, 18.
- Maybe?
- Probably.
- Yeah.
- So it's like 18.
- It's almost 10 years.
- Probably.
- Like 8 years.
- Yeah.
- I'm kidding.
- Okay, first question, how do you think growing
on extremist change versus a year ago, or when you started?
- I feel like it's just always changing.
Like when we started in 2018, 2017, whenever it was,
it was so easy to grow.
- It was the craziest thing.
- So easy.
- Like we literally had like 5,000 followers at the time,
and you could post a photo, one photo,
'cause there was no carousels,
and you would get 1,000 likes by 1,000 followers,
and like grow like during every single post.
Like nothing, like no thought, no crazy, anything,
like you just did it.
And I feel like over the years,
it's just gotten harder and harder to grow,
but it's like they're giving you more tools
to try to grow.
- Yeah.
- Still, you have to like lean into that.
- I feel like, now I feel like it's getting easier again,
I think.
- I, when I think about it,
what it all boils down to for me is genuinely,
I think people have more balls now,
and they see how lucrative this industry is.
Like I feel like when we started in 2018,
no one, like that was such a foreign concept for people
to like post a photo of themselves online
and like put themselves out there like that.
Like I feel like also people are so inspired,
and now people almost look at it differently
because like so many people are doing it,
but now it's like yeah, you have to be a lot more creative.
There's so many tools and editing styles.
Like the type of editing style that is,
that we have now, it was like exclusively for YouTubers,
I wanna say, you know, like we didn't have access
to this type of editing and like, yeah,
there's so much more to keep up with,
but I feel like what it boils down to is like,
literally people have more confidence now slash,
there's so many people who like graduate college,
and like this is the career goal.
- And it's like having a lot of things
where everyone was at home,
and like there was nothing else to do besides that,
so people were just like effort like whatever.
- Yeah.
- And then a lot of them went viral that way,
and then now like if you do it in college,
and then in college it was not a thing.
- Not at all.
- So, but now being a college creator is a whole thing
and brands like even look specifically for that,
so like that has opened up,
and then people just not even going to college now,
and just going straight into college creation as a job.
- Yeah, it's almost like if you think that you can do it,
and like have like a draw to it, why wouldn't you?
- I think that's why we talked about this last episode,
but why the social media coaches are so successful again,
because like there's so many people who want to be
in social media, or who want to show content and post,
and so it's like all the comments are like,
"Oh, I really want to leave my job,
"and I really want to do this full time.
"How do I do it?"
And it's like so crazy to me,
that people are still asking those questions
when we've literally been talking about it since like 2018.
- I know, it is really funny.
Like, oh, here's a free resource.
- Like there's just so much information out there now,
and like, whatever you can learn how to do it for free,
and you just start and like,
I think that's the, what's that called?
- Something to entry.
- Oh, barrier to entry, yeah.
- You guys, my brain, I literally just lose singular words,
and I'm like, I know the phrase,
the barrier to entry.
- Yeah.
- It's a little bit just posting,
and like being confident enough to keep going,
even when it gets like no views, no, whatever,
and like getting through.
- Yes, I absolutely just like stinking videos.
Because people, after COVID,
everyone was so used to going viral,
then when the virality stopped,
people would be like,
this is like so stupid,
and I'm sweating, I'm over it,
and it's like, we have been here for years.
- Yeah, you literally, it's always up and down.
- Like, you would just have to stick through it,
and those are the people who are gonna be the most successful,
and you're gonna have highs, and you're gonna have lows.
Like, I feel like I've followed certain creators
for almost 10 years now, and I've noticed they've had years
where they like got barely any likes,
thought the best of agement, and then like, two, three years later,
popping off every year. - Yeah.
- And you just like never know when that's gonna happen.
So it's like, you kinda have to be in it
for more than just the engagement.
- Yeah.
- Like, you have to genuinely love doing it.
- Yeah. - Keep going.
And I feel like, at this point,
the consistency is what makes you grow,
because I don't think people follow as easily now.
Like people used to just like follow, follow, follow.
It doesn't matter, but now it's like,
you really have to burn someone's following,
yeah, really like provide them with value,
and like, do they wanna keep coming back
for whatever you're sharing?
So, I feel like the strategy
is like the main thing that has changed over the years.
- Yeah.
It's like the strategy in mindset,
and I'm gonna honestly sell money things.
- Yeah.
- I just feel like everyone wants to do it,
but then they do it, and then,
I feel like, it's like, everyone wants to do it,
they'll blow up, and then, yeah,
when they see like a downfall of some sort,
like then they're like, oh my god,
I can't do this anymore, and then they stop.
So, it's like, might as well keep going,
because if you actually love it,
like you'll keep doing it.
- Yeah.
- But I feel like that does kind of--
- It's an industry is always evolving.
- Yeah.
- There's always more opportunities,
different kinds of opportunities opening up,
and 'cause it's like at the beginning,
brands wouldn't work with anyone under 10,000 followers,
'cause you didn't have the swipe up for the product,
now everyone has a link.
And like, brands would only pay people
with over 100,000 followers.
- Yeah.
- No matter what.
- Literally, it can make six billion years with like 20,000
easily. - Right.
- Exactly.
- So it's just so different now.
- Yeah.
- This strategy.
- Definitely like feats and torn next question.
Someone asks, where do you picture the industry going,
and is there room for more creators?
I guess you kind of like just answer that.
But I mean, it's so funny, because I swear,
I just always see these like click,
betty, fear, mongering videos on TikTok,
where people were like,
that influencer industry,
is dead this is where it's going and I'm like you guys are so one way literally this is never been
more lucrative it's just changing the whole time and I don't know if you've seen the like
Pete Davidson video oh I just saw this yesterday I feel like this is rage bait there's no way
that's he'll just like to hate on a female dominated I know I hate to see women succeeding
literally good in like dominating something that like men don't do yeah no I fully agree they
don't get it women winning and things and making more money than men easily being able to support
themselves because now you don't need the man yeah exactly so the man has to be held to a higher
standard yeah yeah so it is just like so frustrating but okay yeah definitely a room for more
creators and I know I know I just don't really like him like also allow I hate him literally nothing
like oh making men laugh only no women weird like yeah yeah I think he's a comedian he's a comedian
right he's a comedian but I literally think the only people who laugh at his jokes are men yeah like
it's not really funny oh and he's famous for dating famous women which oh yes it's less
there must be something about him that we clearly don't see I don't know yeah I don't know oh
give me the egg but yeah wait what was that question where do you picture an industry going in a
room for creators I feel like there's always room because as long as you be yourself and like that's
what makes you unique in this industry that's what's gonna set you apart and why brands are gonna
want to work with you yeah there's room for authentic creators like you cannot just choose a
personality and then think that's gonna like I think like honestly that strategy has worked
really well for some girls but you're gonna burn out and it's not sustainable so like please
just feel like authentic so I don't even know what how to describe this but like people are so quick to
like post something on social media so if you have this persona online and then in real life you're
someone completely different and then someone meets you they're gonna go on their TikTok and post
like oh my gosh I met so-and-so today but they are so not online or this you know what I mean yeah
so it's like once you blow up and get bigger you're gonna get like caught in this like story
yeah to portray that's not you and also I feel like that's just a lot of work yeah you're gonna
burn out and it's like people can smell that from a mile away like yeah for real yeah so I just
as long as you're gonna be authentic and bring what you want to bring to the table then
yeah yeah like inspo is just solely inspo I feel like isn't gonna cut it anymore so yeah definitely
that's one thing that's changed about them yeah yeah totally okay I lost question how to train
your boyfriend to take good photos okay I feel like literally you just need to like okay this is
how I have Josh take them I will show him like my inspo and he'll have it on the screen where you
can like swipe up and see the inspo and the camera yeah so like he can like see where I'm standing
and make sure like you just use you have to have the inspo like some sort of inspo like Andrew is
not that like advanced okay so like okay for Andrew I like have to have the grid up yeah have to be
like okay I have to be like in the middle that's a good way to teach them yeah and then I'm like okay
like make sure there's space above my head like basic like I am going back to the basics and
repeating it and like and like I will show him an inspo photo but I don't think it sticks in his
head yeah I'll show him I'm like okay and then when we gotta do yeah yeah yeah you have to know
their personality this varies so it's just like the grid for sure using that on your phone and then
like you taking a photo of them maybe in the spot that you want oh good yeah and then there's like
key things in the photo that you want to be like don't get that green palm tree back there or
like get that thing in the background like and then I literally will hold the phone and have Andrew
like come stand there and then he'll hold the phone with his hands and then all like position his
hand okay yes I've done that too yeah so I'll be like okay hold it right here and then he's holding
the phone he's not moving and I'm looking at the screen being like okay yeah it looks good and
I'm like okay when I go stand make sure I'm right here and then tell me if I'm not so then I go
stand there and I'm okay in my area that I told you and I'm like yes and then sometimes I can tell
like oh tilt the phone a little more yeah yeah yeah okay just hit that button and go yeah and honestly
clueless version aka when I'm with my family on a trip I will literally just bring this honestly
recommend this completely I bring my tripod because it's way less like sometimes weird yeah
sometimes I have my tripod no like I have my tripod and I will be with them but all set it up
exactly how I want I'll do the burst self-shoot feature and they just have to watch and I'm like
just stand here and I won't feel awkward like in the middle of like everyone like honestly I'm
gonna set it up myself so I recommend that too if you're going to just get it I'm setting it up
or whatever and then like yeah I'm hitting it yeah so they can't move it yeah yeah yeah I just feel
like you have to know the personality of the person yeah working with and their capabilities like
so I feel like when I shoot with my sister she's like pretty good quick to pick it up like
yeah yeah yeah there's like no shot with my my mom unfortunately bless her heart but like she's
always gonna move it to the side and like not know yeah yeah so I'm just like whatever I get like
I'm just gonna yeah I'll just be like just make sure I'm in the middle and like push the button
exactly yeah and then it doesn't matter but a truck but it's great yeah a truck but it's great
but if you want to like do an activity with your significant other you want it just give them good
I also Andrew's like start with compliments like butter them butter them up like maybe buy them lunch
get those favorite tree yeah like or buy them like a nice cream cone after it's like a double hook
that I'm trained right off thank you so much babe I really appreciate you taking my photos
can you just angle it slightly yeah yeah can we just do it one more time yeah we'll be like oh
it wasn't you it was me like I just want to pose a different one yeah honestly that's a good one
there's so many ways to go yeah but no that's what we do yeah sometimes you just know like you just
don't shoot with like if I'm going on a content trip like Andrew is not coming one because he
doesn't like to do it like I feel like some girls their husbands love to like be good yeah man
Andrew does not and we both acknowledge that and we're both okay with that he doesn't like
traveling he doesn't like taking my photos he doesn't like shopping he doesn't like eating at
nice places so like that's what you have your own I will go on girlships and do that I don't want him
to do that yeah you just you just have to know you know and it's like not going to force
situation if it's not like we could never be that like vlog couple because he doesn't like it
