Ep. 2044 - Hasan Piker Does Dance Routine To Mock Charlie Kirk

Before we get into any story, I really want to get into the Hassan story because it just tells you everything. It tells you everything about a better political moment. But before we get into that, I do have to get to AOC. I am sorry to report that AOC is taking her clothes off again. Female member of Congress, don't take your clothes off challenge completely impossible. It cannot happen. Do we, producers, do we have the clip? Do I have to play the clip? I think we might have to. AOC, after she had just been a filming herself lifting up her shirt and injecting herself with some egg freezing poison, she has now gone back on live to take her shirt off just to show you her tummy just to see if we have the clip. We don't have the clip. I'm tempted to say the producers have failed me. Maybe they've helped me. Maybe they've bailed me out from, okay, we'll get to AOC stripping in a moment. First though, let's talk about Hassan Piker. Hassan Piker is on a tour. He's doing live podcast shows. This is not the usual campus tour that the conservatives do, where the conservatives show up to schools and then audiences come. They show up because they're a lot of curious young people who might be conservative and then there are hordes of leftists who want to throw rotten tomatoes at us. This is a much more manicured thing. They sold tickets to this, packed out some theater. And how does Hassan Piker kick off the tour? He kicks it off by singing and dancing, joking about Charlie Kirk's assassination. Do you get it? Do you get the joke? They murdered him. Do you get the joke? A leftist made good on the many and increasing threats that leftists have made against right wingers speaking on campus for a decade. One of them made good on those threats and murdered him. And that's really funny to Hassan Piker. That's a big joke. He's not just going to laugh about it on his live stream. He's not just going to make snide remarks. He's not just going to justify it and defend it. He's going to show up to a theater and sing in jubilation and mockery about the fact that a leftist murdered Charlie Kirk. Ha, ha, ha. He's not going to just stop there, by the way. He's also going to mock Charlie's religion. He's going to mock the fact that Charlie spread the gospel and he was an evangelist and they're all going to laugh. And then the people, Hassan couldn't fill the house on his own. So he had to bring some other miscreants around. So he had these other left wing streamers who I've never heard of on stage and they're all laughing. They're just they're just cutting it up, man. They're laughing. They're taking out their cell phones. Like in the old days at a concert, people would use a lighter, but now no one smokes. So they just use the cell phones way weaker. And so they're waving that. They're all giggling. They're laughing. And then at the very end there, you have this hideous audience laughing, cheering, applauding. Ha, ha, ha. Yes. One of us killed Charlie Kirk. That's the joke. Hassan Piker, who is on stage wearing an actual clown suit. He's wearing this suit that is modeled after Chairman Mao's suit. So he's wearing this like foreign antiquated. It's like, it's like Joe Pesci and Mike Hussin Vinny wearing a silly clown suit. But there's a, there's a room, a grain of truth to that joke, which is that he is a communist. But he's up there wearing his clown suit, laughing about how, how the left succeeded at murdering Charlie Kirk. If I'm, if I'm taking the most charitable view, I possibly can. It is that if I'm Hassan Piker and I have Hassan Piker's audience, I have to do that. I have to do it because put aside for a second, the Tyler Robinson of it all put aside for a second, the actual person who murdered Charlie and the tranny boyfriend and the leftist ideology and all of that. Even putting all of that aside, we know for a fact that after Charlie was murdered, the mainstream left celebrated that and they justified that. Hassan Piker had words printed in the New York Times about this and young leftists in particular were extraordinarily likely to justify Charlie's assassination. So if I'm a Hassan Piker and I have that audience and I've got to make these seals clap, what am I going to do? I'm not going to give a lecture on economics. I'm not going to discuss history in any sober way. I'm not, I'm certainly not going to say anything that is good or uplifting. I'm going to make fun of the murder because that's what gets the seals clapping and that's what they are doing. The most charitable thing I can say about Hassan Piker is that he got the audience he deserves. The left gets the audience they deserve. In media, I guess the audience is always right. I'm also reminded of a term that's cropped up online, which is bio-leninism and it's this kind of joking jargon, bio-leninism, the idea that there's this leninist, Marxist view of the oppressed and the oppressor and class solidarity, but the bio-leninism brings this biological component into it and the real upshot of the whole term is that leftists are ugly. And you look at the audience and they don't look great. Now I don't think that that term is, it's a funny joke, but it's not, I don't think it actually fits. I don't think it's that ugly people are naturally leftists. I think it goes in the opposite direction. I think leftism makes people ugly. You've all seen this. You've all seen the nice girl in your class who comes from a good family who was raised right and then she starts to go a little wrong. Maybe she went wrong in college, maybe with some crazy teacher or whatever. And she starts to embrace leftism and what does she start doing? She starts getting random tattoos. She starts to look way ugly or gets the bullhorn nose piercing. You know, they start to mess around with their gender and chop their hair off. And so I think it's not that it's biologically determinative that ugly people become leftists. I think it's more that leftism makes people ugly. At a deeper level, it's that sin makes people ugly. These people look really, really ugly. However, it tells you an important fact about what happened a year ago. We are now very close to approaching the one-year anniversary of Charlie's assassination. I'm going to be doing a speech for TPUSA shortly after that anniversary, just as I did a speech for TPUSA days after Charlie was murdered at speech that I was supposed to do with Charlie as a matter of fact, at the University of Minnesota. And the show went on. TPSA has done a good job of keeping that up a lot of Charlie's friends have hopped in to help continue those tours. We are now almost one year later. Nothing has changed. The left largely celebrated Charlie's assassination at the level of media, at the level of elected politics, at the level of that woman who sits next to your work. They largely, 28% or something among young leftists, supported Charlie's murder or justified it. Later, they haven't changed their tune. They've actually become more emboldened. This is in part because the right fractured itself imploded among the media class for all sorts of reasons that we've discussed many times, but that was probably always going to happen. That's part of the reason they killed Charlie Kirk, because Charlie was one of the people who held the right together. So in his absence, that was always going to collapse to a substantial degree. Now they're so emboldened that weeks before the anniversary, they come out and they mock it. Charlie was a Christian, and now he's dead, and it's deeply distressing because it's on us. The fact that these people have not been held to account, the fact that there has not been a major crackdown on the American left, the increasingly violent left, we've seen some of it from the federal government. We've seen the CFO of the SPLC getting arrested. Major expose that the SPLC, which is supposed to fight right-wing hate groups, was actually funding them because there was far more demand than supply. We've seen a little bit, we've seen some people getting fired from universities for celebrating Charlie's murder. There was a woman who got fired for just fine Charlie's murder in the Washington Post, but arbitration just reinstated that columnist, and a lot of those professors who got fired, they're getting settlements, they're if not being reinstated. The left was able to survive that, and they got a lot of benefit. Assassinations work, that's why people keep doing them. That guy who's up there making fun of Charlie and making fun of Christians and celebrating the murder, that guy is campaigning with Democrats and candidates, and some of those Democrat candidates at the federal level are going to win their elections in November. Which is just an absolute, I don't want to be too much of a doomer here, but we have to recognize the reality that we're living in. The left committed a major act of political violence and basically got away with it, and has gotten stronger because of it. It's not just some fringe actors that is now an organizing principle on the left. All of those people in that room, and Hassan Piker, and whoever those other people are on stage. They want you dead. If you were to die, the only reason they wouldn't sing about you is because they don't know your name. If they knew your name, they would do it. Very, very dark stuff, coming in American politics, and it's being reflected at the level of the elections. Okay. We'll get to those elections, too. AOC, once again, taking her clothes off on camera. Don't be weird. Pretty good, pretty, pretty good. And this bloating is before even the trigger shop. Okay, that's all we have to see. If I don't want to watch the whole clip, the still frames of this are really jarring, but perhaps they shouldn't be. AOC, a week or two after she lifts her shirt up and films herself injecting this medication to freeze her eggs. She's now back, pulling her clothes up just to show you her belly. They just can't help themselves and it's a certain personality of woman in both parties that just have to take their clothes off on camera. But I'm reminded of that Reagan quote, do you remember the old Reagan quote? He said, you know, politics is the world's second oldest profession. And the more I've been in politics, the longer I realize that the second oldest profession resembles the first, the punchline being the politicians are a bunch of whores. And he meant this allegorically, he meant this metaphorically, and yet, and yet. I look around at politicians and they're literally taking their clothes off. We are not a serious country. This woman is the leading candidate for president among the Democrats in 2028. And she is attempting to build her presidential campaign on taking her clothes up. You could give her a pass, maybe for the egg freezing video, because even though all she really wanted to do was just take her clothes off a little bit at the very least. The ostensible reason she was doing it was to show you this medical procedure, to show solidarity with women who are freezing their eggs, which is a lot of people in AOC's base, or to show you that she's hip to the times. She's the voice of the millennial generation. But the second one, what is she doing? She's literally just saying, like, hey, look at my belly. Look at me. I'm bloating a little bit. But I'm also kind of, am I caught? Please tell me I'm hot. What do you think? You've degraded politics down to online influencers and we've degraded online influencers down to, like, only fans, ladies. It's not a country cannot long persist. I can't even, I'm trying, being as charitable as I can to the left, which I try to do. But you almost can't knock them because people get the audience they deserve. And I guess democracy is the political theory of getting the audience you deserve as the founding fathers and framers of the constitution, warned about constantly. But that's where we're at. This is the explanation of when John Adams says the constitution's built for a moral and religious people. This is why obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment. The reason for that is, the more you appeal to base desires, the less capable you are of self-government because the less capable you are of rational thought. Obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment because when you speak in a perient way and you appeal to the base desires, people become less capable of rational thought. And the whole point of the First Amendment is to protect not pornography, but rational thought. And that is an instrument to secure the blessings of liberty because if people are thinking rationally and deliberating, then in theory, they're supposed to come up with the best policy solutions. But now it is chicks taking their clothes up and there's one frame of it. She's lifting her shirt up and cupping her boobs. It's so, I was trying to think of a delicate way to say that there's no delicate, it's not a delicate thing. She's running for president by jiggling around lifting her shirt up. This is tribal, not even Third World. I don't know what's worse than the Third World. It's like so degraded, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson rolling over in their graves. And she's leading by the way. John us off, lift that shirt up, John. Lift that shirt up. Not that by the way, not to sound like a total square. Nobody wants to see a mid-30s politician taking her clothes off. Okay. I'm not commenting on anyone's appearance. This is a general rule, nobody wants to see that, okay? If you want to get that kind of attention, just like go meet a guy and get married. If you want that kind of attention, take that to Instagram. I guess she is taking that to Instagram. But don't, please don't to grade our political system that way and also just don't do it. Please. Okay. Now we turn back to the nasty or leftists. Abdul Al-Sahed taking a swipe at Usha Dance, the second lady. And this I think was a big political mistake. The setup for why the Senate candidate for the dams, Abdul Al-Sahed has taken the swipe at Usha Dance. The setup is JD Vance's comments at a recent excellent speech, which we'll get to before a lot of working class voters and Ohio. The setup is that he took a shot at Abdul. It's sometimes actually hard to understand what of these modern Democrats actually stand for. But look what they say, pay close attention and they'll lead these little hints of what they actually care about. Now, El-Sahed, this guy running for Senate and Michigan, he once argued not too long ago that criticisms of Sharia law were rooted in white supremacy. I'd love to go back in time. [BLANK_AUDIO] my papal that there's a man who claims to stand for working people who says not only should we have sharia law but if you criticize it you're a white supremacist that's not my papal's democrat party my friends to speak in here at the plant that is grandpa his papal worked at and he says this is kind of crazy stuff we got a we got a democrat senate candidate who is effectively defending sharia law what happened man i in other what he's signaling is hey ordinary working class americans the democrat party is not your party it used to be your party the dems used to have a lock on ordinary working class americans the dems of sold that out they have embraced radical religion radical political ideologies there they're now the party of sharia law not the party of kitchen table issues for democrats and in fact they sneer at the working class they constantly do so here's what abdual else i had posts he takes this clip and he goes so do we think jd is taking usha with him back in time to meet papa or no what it the implication here being that papa this working class ohioan was obviously a nasty bigoted racist jd but he would never take his indian wife to meet his certainly racist bigoted closed-minded papa those filthy dirty working class people in ohio they would they never met a brown person they they didn't not like they they never met a brown person they didn't hate and so i it's this very reactive but to i read this as abdual else i had maybe not being ready for prime time put the sharia law stuff aside even put the socialism rhetoric aside you know abdual else i he's had a schizophrenic campaign one day he's trying to appeal to very serious conservative religious muslims and dearborn the next day he's trying to appeal to his actual base which is college educated white liberal women and so that he switches from the jihadi appeal to this kind of gay appeal where he posts these videos of him singing and dancing like he's doing Gilbert and Sullivan singing oh i want to dance with somebody he's already had this tension in his messaging but here he's just being purely reactive is hitting back against this attack from the vp and he says yeah well you're your grandpa your white working class ohio grandpa he's a dirty racist and i hate that guy not a good appeal when you're running in ohio or when you're running in michigan for that matter when it's not a good appeal it reminds me of francesca hung francesca hung who talked about how much she hated white people she would she lost her primary but she was running in Wisconsin running on hating white people is not a good campaign strategy in the state that seventy five percent white so the implication to abdual al-sia's retort is that working class democrats are bigots and so fine bring that on every day i want abdual al-sia to have a big bullhorn i want them to be talking about that every single day because a big part of the trump coalition a big part assuming the jd vance does run for president twenty twenty eight and a crucial part of his coalition probably the reason why trump picked jd vance to be his running mate for the second term in the first place is that jd vance brings working class appeal because he has a lot of ethos on this issue he grew up poor in a dysfunctional family in the middle of america and he succeeded now at the very highest levels you can possibly succeed at in the country and and he is intelligent and he's educated and he's worked in business so he's he's not some political radical or reactionary but he has that appeal that common touch appeal that is going to be crucial if the republicans are to maintain the maga coalition the maga coalition which was reconstituted in many ways from the Reagan coalition the Reagan coalition which also appeal to working class people working class democrats who became dissolution with their party Ronald Reagan was a dissolution democrat he was a new deal democrat who said that his party had left him and so jd vance comes out there he says all right that's our party now and Abdul al-Sahed and the democrats generally are saying yeah you're right we're not the party of the working class we're the party of transing the kids murdering all the babies we're the party of sharia law paradoxically we're the party of mass migration undercutting working class and lower middle class wages in america where the party of globalism not the party of american development yeah you take all those filthy working class people we don't want them they're probably racist anyway okay run on that abdual be my guest please and vance did not stop there this speech in middle town was really really great from the mill that his grandpa worked at vance was not hiding the ball at all he took a direct swing at the profile JD vance he's not he's not playing koi he's not playing footsie with anything here he is speaking directly about what the future of the gop looks like in his view and in the vance view from my understanding of it the future of the gop is much more about bringing in the working class it's much more about solidarity among americans then it is about just giving tax breaks to rich people now in 1984 just to date myself a little bit don't hate me one month before i was born the wall street journal the voice of big business in the united states of america proposed and i quote a five word constitutional amendment there shall be open borders now they weren't joking they weren't me in tongue in cheek because if you look at what they tried to do over the next 40 years they told you back then exactly what they were trying to do being replaced by foreign workers in other words it was not an accident my friends it was the desired outcome of a generation of american elites so this is a real data point here it's not just vague insinuations and recriminations this is fans saying hey the leadership of the republican party back in 40 years ago the leadership of the gop explicitly called for open borders you have the wall street journal i like the wall street journal but wall street journal does speak to a certain business minded form of the gop the reporting is actually leans liberal but the the editorial page for a long long time has leaned republican but it's business republican and so business republicans and more popular traditional republicans agree on a lot of issues but one issue where they have traditionally disagreed is on immigration because the business class wants to import the whole world and the popular ordinary traditional conservative people do not and the reason that the business class wants to do that is because it allows them to reduce wages if you import a slave class of latin americans it just allows you to pay less for labor and so the the democrats wanted mass migration because they felt it would give them a permanent electoral majority and they have mostly been proven right about that the uh. the business republicans say okay well we'll give the democrats a permanent electoral majority but at least we'll save some money and then meanwhile you have disillusion democrats and the traditional conservatives who are saying whoa we're not going to mortgage our country we're not going to give away our sovereignty just to save a few bucks on labor it might not even be right to save a few bucks on labor one of the sins that cries out to heaven is defrauding a worker of his wage it's like a very very serious sin and so JD Vance is giving a real data point here he's saying you know the leadership of the GOP was calling for this in the the mid eighties and that's wrong so what you're going to hear there's going to be screeching and gnashing of teeth from the beltway types the establishment types the more neoconny types on this and they're going to say JD Vance is a socialist he's going after a statement of the Wall Street Journal from the 1980s he's suggesting that we should pay higher wages to work in class people this guy is a socialist that is not socialism that is very much in the conservative tradition i was speaking to a reporter about the reporter reached out to me on the state of play in the GOP right now what JD Vance is talking about here you might disagree with it you might be totally on the side of we should have open borders you might be totally on the side of we shouldn't care about wealth inequality we shouldn't focus on working class people maybe that's your factional view but the one thing i can promise you is what JD Vance is saying is certainly not socialism it is very much within the conservative tradition this idea of a kind of solidarity of a political order being oriented toward the common good that goes back to Aristotle and Cicero it goes up through the scholastics It comes right up to our founding fathers and the framers of our constitution. It speaks to the great developers of conservatism, whether we're talking about Edmund Burke, the father of Anglo-American conservatism, whether we're talking about Russell Kirk, whether we're talking about Roger Scruton or Michael Oakshot or any of these dusty old philosophers. This idea that you need some kind of solidarity, the idea that the palace is never safe when the cottage is unhappy. That comes from Benjamin Disraeli, one of the most prominent conservative politicians ever in the British tradition. This is very, very much within conservatism. Frankly, that includes Ronald Reagan, Ronald Reagan who he loved his tax cuts, he was on board in many ways with the Wall Street Journal, but Ronald Reagan would also subvert those business expectations. He would protect U.S. steel, he would implement certain tariffs. He was a union man, he was a union president, he defended the new deal. I'll complain about FDR all day, but Ronald Reagan did that. That's how he brought in that coalition, and I think it's very, very smart for JD Vance to do this. It's what Trump did, so it's in keeping with the idea that Vance is Trump's chosen successor. And in some ways, there are going to be a lot of attacks on JD Vance because of this speech from the other factions of the GOP. I think it's actually good for the VP though. If you're looking at the race right now and you say there are four or five candidates who could plausibly run for the Republican nomination, the fact that JD Vance will be attacked over this is good news for the Vance team. It firmly plants him as having the same enemies that Trump had in 2016 for the same reasons, not the least of which was economic populism. It plants him as Trump's hand pick successor, and so then the biggest worry for the Vance team would have to be, well, Trump needs to remain popular. The administration needs to remain popular because I think really anyone who runs for president whether that's Marco Rubio or that's Pete Tegseth, whoever runs for president from within the administration is going to be running for Trump's third term. And a lot of that is just going to come down to Trump. Okay. Now, speaking of the Wall Street Journal, a distressing report out at the Wall Street Journal. It's going viral. It's getting zillions of views over the weekend. This is from Mary Julia Koch on how young men are abandoning the workforce. Where did all the guys in the office go? American women now hold 176,000 more paper jobs than American men. That's a far cry from three decades ago when men held nearly 7 million more jobs than women. What changed? The largely male-dominated industries of manufacturing and construction have lost employment for decades due to automation and offshoring. Meanwhile, the healthcare industry, which is 78 percent female, is thriving. The male unemployment rate is actually relatively low right now, but the number of men who aren't even looking for a job has reached a nearly 20-year high. GenC men grew up witnessing the effects of the Great Recession in corporate America's push to bring more women into male-dominated fields. That left many of them feeling pessimistic about their own employment prospects. So for the guys who aren't working or even looking for work, what are they up to? Many are living at home, some are even embracing the trend of being a stay-at-home boyfriend with a red-winning girlfriend. This is all more and more of life is happening through a screen. Social media, video gaming, sports betting, further isolating men from real life. But we can fix this. We can encourage more men to enter education, healthcare and administration. Just as women were encouraged to pursue careers in STEM. We could also expand vocational training and apprenticeships for men who are skipping college. She says, "As corporations were trying to pull women into their fields, into the workforce, as corporations were trying to prioritize women, pull women into their fields, that led to some of the tumult." Some of the tumult for men's employment is that their traditional male jobs, like manufacturing, went away. Why did they go away? We'll get to that in a second. And some of the fields that are more attractive to women, those started to grow. So that was part of it. But then another part of it was, the corporations wanted to hire women instead of men. This number, everyone's dunking on the men now. They say, "All these lazy men, these stay-at-home boyfriends, what a joke. You know, they need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, get back to work." The dirty little secret of it all is, this was all by design. We know that. We live through it. A lot of these Gen Z men saw it real up close and personal. For decades, corporate America and the government came out and said, "We want fewer men in these jobs. We want women in these jobs. We want, we're going to institute DEI mandates. We're going to institute DEI quotas. We're going to give women an advantage in getting these jobs. We want to social engineer and bring more women into these fields." Well, guess what, when you bring more women into a finite number of jobs, guess what happens? You push men out. That is just social engineering. Even down to the male-dominated fields that seem to have diminished like manufacturing, that was a choice, too. Politicians may discreet political choices to outsource manufacturing jobs. Politicians signed various trade agreements that were going to destroy those industries. That's part of the discontent in places like Middletown, Ohio and Pennsylvania and elsewhere. This didn't just happen because of the magical workings of the invisible hand of the free market. Markets are regulated, cultivated things. Markets are like gardens. They're not like forests. They don't just spring up out of nature. They are cultivated. There are guardrails and there are incentives and disincentives. For decades now, the entire political order has said, "We're going to punish men and we're going to reward women in the ways that we want." Then we look up one day and we say, "Well, this is so weird. Why aren't men working anymore?" Because you told them they couldn't. Because you told them that they were going to have a disadvantage in hiring over women. They were going to have a disadvantage in college admissions over women. All of the things that bring you into the workforce and then the fields that were dominated by them, you just outsourced. Yeah. No wonder. A really, really good report and Mary Julia Koch is not hiding this at all. She says, "You know, corporate America did this. There was a big political order here." So, if the workforce has changed by conscious design and policy, what that means is that this is yet another brutal blow to the establishment wing of the GOP, the laissez-faire wing of the GOP, the more neo-con/liberitarian wing of the GOP. That's a brutal blow because whenever you go to that wing of the GOP and you say, "Hey, we need a policy that stops discriminating against men or discriminating against white people or whatever." In any of the ways that we've socially engineered. Whenever you say that to them, they'll say, "Oh, no. Government can't fix anything. No, no. Politics is just downstream of culture. You've just got to change hearts and minds through private institutions. But anytime you try to meddle in with the government, my bygallia, you're probably just a socialist. You know what I mean? It's just like a son-piker." The government won't be able to succeed at doing that. Well, the government did succeed. Lawmakers, policy makers, their counterparts in corporate America, they did succeed at changing the workforce. They succeeded at changing the demographics of the country. Mass migration, the fact that we now have taken in tens of millions of illegal aliens. We have the highest foreign-born percentage of the population in American history. We haven't even talked about the legal immigrants who have come here a million a year. The fact that that happened, it didn't just happen by accident. It happened because very influential people called for open borders and implemented open borders. So this is what you are not going to. If you are a Republican politician, I obviously have my own views on this from political philosophy and history. But if you're a Republican politician who just wants to run on the same old slogans that have been stale for 30 years, I'm just warning you. That is not going to connect to Gen Z because Gen Z knows it's a bunch of BS. When you tell them, "Oh, there's nothing we can do. There's no policy here. We just got to change hearts and minds and pull yourself up by your bootstraps." Yeah, that's good personal advice for personal development. That's not an excuse to ignore the political problem. You've had a political system that has been disadvantaging and discriminating against white guys, most straight white guys, mostly, and each of those components in different ways for a very long time. And we need a political solution to that, which is at the very least, stop the discrimination, stop the affirmative action in college admissions, stop the DEI quotas in hiring. And if the political party, the GOP is not going to speak to that, the young people are going to turn away from the GOP, and they should. They should. They would be totally justified in doing so. Okay. Now, we have better statistical trends going on beyond the men dropping out of society. And that is, while men are leaving the workforce, they are, at the very least, returning to religion. There's been a big, big debate. A lot of dispute over whether or not Christianity and Catholicism in particular are really surging in America. Is there really a kind of rebirth, an awakening of religion, or is that not real, and it's all kind of overhyped? We got more statistics to show that is really happening, and it's specifically Catholic, and it's happening on campus. My favorite comment on Fridays from Arun Rami, who says, by the end of this, we're all going to have PhDs in the study of Lindsay Clarence. I know it's almost like too much of the Lindsey Clancy thing. It's an interesting phenomenon politically, like the reaction to Lindsey Clancy is much more interesting than the horrific crime that she committed. But a lot of people follow this stuff just for true crime, gossipy, I don't know, it's just gross, I don't know. It's like the same reason women watch Mori povage during the day or like daytime soaps. It's not good for your mind, okay. What is good for your mind and your soul is returning to religion. And that seems to be happening. There's a report out from HALO, our great sponsor HALO, which shows that among schools reporting data to HALO, OCIA participation, that's the right of Christian initiation for adults, people who are coming into the Catholic Church. On average, has more than doubled from the 2024 to 2025 school year to the 2025 to 2026 school year. In one year, we've seen 115% growth of students entering into Catholic religious education. So that's only among schools that are reporting to HALO. You might say, okay, well, those are the most gung-ho schools. So what does it look like on average? Well, if you look at the data in aggregate, and you compare the total number of participants across all Newman centers, all of these Catholic centers at schools, in the data set from the 2024 school year through the 2025 school year, OCIA participation increased 87.6%. So it's a little below the 115% figure, but it's pretty close. There is something very clearly happening. And this dovetails in on a point we were making last week, where the Duffy's, Sean Duffy, the transportation secretary, his wife Rachel campus Duffy on Fox News, they have this reality show. They met on a reality show. They're on the real world. They have this new reality show going around the country, the great American road trip. And there was a scene that went viral of their daughter saying, hey, if I get into Harvard, I got to go, right? And Sean's saying, I don't know if you should go. I might put my foot down on that, because Harvard has professionalized turning good young girls into rabbit leftists who are going to be self-destructive. So I don't know if I want you to go to Harvard. I don't know if I want you to go to the oldest, most prestigious school in the country. And then I guess there's another, I guess they went and checked out Harvard. And here is an anecdotal report from Harvard's chaplain. We have the best Catholic center in the country, so you should come here. Why do you say that? Student involvement. But the biggest one is conversion rate. We have the largest class of people becoming Catholic in our history this year, we'll have about 80 people entering the church. So there's something really exciting here. And as attendance is great right now, definitely up 10 to 20% over the last couple years, because of the fact that we have very high achieving intelligent students, the Catholic center has a different feel. We can give talks on a range of issues, and the students ask great questions. I'm really grateful for what God is doing here. Great, but now I want to watch the rest of the show. I want to see what I want to see what school she goes to. But notice what he's saying, this is the Harvard chaplain. So this is like ground zero of atheism, leftism, he says, yeah, we're actually, we've seen a huge surge in people doing religious education, mass attendance is way up. And in part, because Harvard is filled with all of these type A people, they actually, they're differently interested in the church. They're coming back in kind of interesting and novel ways, and it's happening even at Harvard, along with all of those other schools. And having gone to one of these schools, I, I can attest most of what happens at those schools. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, all those kind of schools is you go there, kind, maybe kind of conservative with a nice solid family, and then you just become way more liberal. And maybe you turn into like a Muslim lesbian or something, but you, you, that's what happens for most people. However, for a subset of people, you become much more conservative. When I was, when I was at my very liberal undergraduate school, I became way more conservative. I was a libertarian when I entered. I was a traditional conservative when I left. I was an atheist when I entered. I was much, much more inclined toward religion when I left, and I returned to the church the following year. That does happen. And that's what the chaplain at Harvard is observing going on here. So why is this happening? Why? Why are you seeing a surge in religiosity among young people? And specifically with Catholicism, I attribute it to the Holy Spirit, obviously. But I think that is ultimately the explanation. But sociologically, I think what's also going on here is that leftism reached a particular extreme. And that particular extreme was the identity politics, the open discrimination against man and white people, and it was all very, very nasty. But it reached its kind of apotheosis, pun intended, in the transgender ideology and specifically transiting the kids. That was so in your face, it was so undeniable that people realized there was a real problem with leftism. For the same reason that the Democrats lost the popular vote, for the same reason that they lost the popular vote because they lost the common sense. People really be under question their judgment on every issue because of the transiting the kids issue. For that same reason, I think a lot of young people are saying, okay, well, then leftism is wrong. So then why are they turning specifically to Catholicism because as a purely historical matter, Catholicism is leftism's ultimate enemy. I mean this in no way to slight our Protestant friends, many evangelical Protestants vote conservative and Republican more reliably than Catholics do. That's also a political fact. But historically speaking, Catholicism is the ultimate enemy of the left. The left is born in that term in opposition to Catholicism in the French Revolution where the people who hated the Catholic church sat on the left side of the national assembly. It wasn't born in opposition to Methodism or Episcopalianism or something like that. No offense to those people either. Historically, it was about opposition to Catholicism. Part of that, ultimately I think it's spiritual, but part of that is the Catholic church is the only institution in the West that has endured since antiquity. Every other institution has gone away. That's the only one that has endured. With all sorts of troubles, with all sorts of shakiness to the bark of Peter, with all sorts of bad actors and leftists trying to infiltrate it, but it's just a fact. And the church has held the line on marriage, on abortion, on sexual morality, on contraception, on even the right of nations, even though you got some kind of open borders, you talk among some bishops. Nevertheless, the Pope himself says nations have a right to determine who comes in on all of these issues, on the male priesthood, on the fact that someone made this, maybe it's Taylor Marshall made this point over the weekend, the Vatican is the only sovereign state that excludes women from the vote because there's only one vote that really matters, which is the vote of the people conclave, and that's only men. It's just, it's, it's a real trad, you know, it's really, it had, leftism has endeavored to destroy that, to crack that, to topple that from the beginning. And so just, again, it's not, I don't mean to make this a sectarian thing, just as sociological matter. If you are, if you realize that something is just really, really rotten about leftism, naturally, the thing that is going to attract you is leftism's enemy. You know, you know a lot about people by, by their enemies. Okay, one last, I know I'm running late, I don't really care. I don't care. Okay. Anaferus, Anaferus, who was Chris Pratt's ex-wife, she just made headlines because her son is, is part of this, this religious awakening among young people. Her son is apparently Christian, and in an older age, the kid would be rebelling and becoming atheist, and the parents would say, you got to go to church and you really don't abandon your religion, and now it's totally flipped. The kids say, I want to go to church, and the mom says, really why religion sucks? Here's just a clip. I think my son is, he's like, as solid as a tugboat emotionally. He just doesn't get easily, oh, jarred. He handles situations really well. He is religious and hungry. Are you religious? No. I didn't grow up with religion. Okay. He's asked me to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. Uh-huh. Okay. And I said, I told him that I would do anything for him, including this, but it's going to take a whole lot of long conversations. And he's impressive, actually, he's impressive, because I try to challenge him. I'm like, do you think it's a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that's kind of a luxury? Because he was born. You mean? Yeah. That's my luxury. Or I'll say, so what do you think of this megapaster that's kind of a grifter? What do you think? He's like, oh, megapasters are the worst. I was like, okay, he's got, we're getting there. I mean, I'm appreciative that he's examining religion the way he is in terms of recognizing hypocrisy, starting to recognize hypocrisy. And I'm appreciative that we can have these long conversations. Okay. Now, notice here, Anaferus got dragged on the internet because she is, because it's very scandalous. This is the verse that our Lord says about milestones, you know, people who scandalize little kids, you'll have millstones tied around their neck, that's what this is about. It's about scandalizing. It's about being an obstacle to the salvation, especially of innocent people and little kids. And so that is kind of what she's doing. She's got this religious son and she's trying to make him not religious. But at a deeper level, listen to the way she's talking about him. It sounds like the movement is actually going the other way. If you're really listening to what she's saying, she's not saying, and I'm, don't worry, I'm finally bringing my kid back to good old atheism. But she's implying and even just kind of stating explicitly is, you know, he's kind of pulling me over. He is actually kind of pulling me over. Listen to what she's talking about. And she goes, you know, my son, he's just really well grounded. He just really deals with problems very well and it's really impressive. That I think is another aspect of the religious awakening that's going on. This happened for me. This happened for friends of mine. They said, even beyond the intellectual arguments for God, which I think are dispositive and even beyond the historical evidence for Christianity, which again, I think is also extraordinarily convincing. Even beyond that, just, you know, you know, the tree by its fruit and you look at these people and you say, hold on, the guy who goes to church every week, the guy who avails himself of the sacraments. It's not that he doesn't have any problems and it's not that he doesn't sin, it's not. But those people do seem way more grounded. They seem way more normal. They seem to get along better in the world. They seem to be less stressed and destructive and freaked out. Maybe there's something there such as how she opens it. She goes, yeah, my son, he's really, he's really grounded. He really, he reacts to the world well. But then I try to poke him and I say, well, look at that grifter pastor. And he says, yeah, yes, some of those guys are really bad. So, huh, oh, that didn't get rid of your religion. Okay. Well, what about, I mean, huh, she's got, you know, in a weird way, she seems to be a little further back in the process, but she seems to be going through the same thing that those 18-year-olds at Harvard are going through, which is, huh, maybe, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I got this kind of thing wrong. And maybe it's kind of like when you hear people attack priests for being celibate. They'll say, what does a priest know about giving me marriage advice? You don't know anything about marriage. What does he know about say? He's celibate. And you think, why? In a way, he's probably the best guy to talk to. Because he deals with temptation in a very, very direct way. He has a, maybe a clearer view of these things than someone who is in the midst of all of these marital struggles. You know, you think a priest doesn't deal with temptation? You think a priest hasn't considered the nature of sin. I think they think about it a fair bit. Same thing with young people. For the Gen X and Boomer liberals who just can't figure out why their kids are becoming super right wing and religious and traditional, maybe say, maybe you just don't know anything about the world. You grow up. You'll become more liberal. I don't know, because the young people in particular are dealing with the acute consequences of leftism and atheism. They are directly dealing with the awful racial and sexual discrimination that's come about as a result of it. They are dealing with the blown up families, the divorce, the radical gender ideology. They're dealing with the fact that a huge proportion of their, of their generation is been murdered through abortion. They're dealing with all of that fallout. So maybe they actually see the situation a little more clearly than you do, because for a lot of the Boomer's and even the Gen X, they still grew up on the fumes of the solid civilization that liberalism ate away, that liberalism mortgaged. They still grew up with a lot of that prosperity and a lot of that social order in those high trust societies, but liberalism has eroded those things. It's really Gen Z has had to see the full effects of that, the fact that they are returning to tradition, the fact that they're returning to God most importantly.
