You guys, we just had a very controversial event play out right here in this room. I asked Abby if she made tilapia for me in the air fryer, and she was like, "No, I did it, but you can have it." -And I was like, "Oh, are wrong." -What? That's not what happened. Okay, wait. I was wrong. Take it away. What happened? -You come in here. -That's not what happened. [laughs] -You come in here and you said, "Hey, are you going to eat that tilapia? It's in the air fryer." And I said, "Yeah, but if you want it, you can have it." -That's right. That's right. You did first say, "Yes, I'm eating this." -I said, "Yeah, I was planning on eating it." -Okay. -But you can have it if you want it. -I feel like you said it. I feel like the way you delivered it was more like, "No, have it. I don't even want that anymore." -That nasty piece of fish. -Oh, no, that's what you said. -I did give you permission to eat it, and then you did eat it, and then I was like, "You actually ate that?" Guys, what do you do? Comment down below. If your spouse tells you that you can eat something or do something, and then they walk it back. -Who is the problem? -I'm not even hungry, so it's fine. -I just was trying to be silly. -I'm always very impressed at what you're, like. -What? -I've got to be careful. I always say this. You never know you could be clipped these days. -And how much I eat. -I'm impressed. Yeah, you're able to like. -I get that a lot. -But I feel like you're not able to eat as much right now because of limited real estate. -I know. I'm inhibited in the belly area. -I know. It's frustrating. I used to eat so much more. -Does that make you upset that you're not able to. Do you want to taste that delicious flavor of food? -I personally eat for fun. -You know what that's funny about me? -I don't have to enjoy the taste of it to eat it. -Are you just talking about that with our friends? -I love eating for fun. -No, I love eating too. I love eating foods I like, but also I don't have to like it and I'll just eat it. -That quote from the Grinch, "Am I just eating because I'm bored?" That's literally me all the time. -You know what? I was just thinking about a quote from the Grinch today. -What was it? -Look at that hack job. -What made you think about that quote? Oh my God. I know exactly what you're talking about. -You just beat yourself. Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. -Do you need anything? -No, I just came to the realization that I'm my first pants down appointment. But his belly did kind of look like this, so that's probably where it came from. That's why I loved him. What are we talking about? -We're talking about. -I have a first pants down appointment. I was supposed to take the kids with me. Then I was like, "That's probably not going to happen now, so they're going to hang out with my parents." I think you have a work call so that I'm like, "Well, guess I'm just going by myself." How does that feel having all of that vulnerability? -Do you think I don't care about that literally at all? -If you're a woman, you have to get over that really quick, especially when it comes to birthing a human. -Totally. -I don't know. I mean, that's intimidating to be. -Well, it's also a woman. I feel like I would feel a little less comfortable if it wasn't. -That's part of my criteria, but other people don't have that criteria. That's fine. It's not like I've never seen a male doctor, but it's been a few and far between. -I love that clip. You sent me of the doctor, the really chill doctor. -The male doctor? -Oh, yeah. -We've been, okay, so we were instructed by our doula to watch births, which I don't think Matt's watched that many births except for that one. -We've been instructed to watch positive births and experiences. -Exactly. To think positively about everything. -Yeah, but sometimes even the positive ones don't feel so positive at times. -If they're unmedicated, they're like positive birth story, and then it's like on, it's like. And I'm like, "That's not positive." -Oh, yeah. -I said my goal for this birth is just to have fun. I want to have fun. -I literally can't believe I'm just sitting here in PB Pants right now. -Is that okay? -Oh my gosh. -It's like, it's just a trickle. -Okay. Well, if you're okay with it, I'm okay with it. -I mean, I'm not loving it. -Okay. If you want to go change, by all means. -That sounds worse. -That does sound worse, okay. -I'm not going to do it again. -Be honest, would you be happy if I installed one of those chair lifts to go up and down. -I think that would be a really good investment. -Like that they have at hospitals and stuff. -I think that would be a really good investment for the next four weeks. -And schools have those. If someone is in a wheelchair, then they can take the little chair. -I honestly feel like it would be a good investment for a lot of reasons. -Yeah. -We could have our house be ADA compliant. Finally. -Just for you. -Oh, for anyone that comes to our house that has any type of handicap. -No, what I was saying is our doula told us to watch positive bursts, and I don't think Matt's watching it except for the one that I sent you. And the doctor was this male OB. He was so chill. And the reason I sent it to you, because he was instructing the dad how to catch the baby. -Yeah. -And he's actually not going to describe the video because there's a little bit. -We, our humor has gotten a bit more adult. I mean, like, there were some terms thrown around there that were pretty. -It's anatomy. -Yeah, human anatomy terms. -Yeah, but actually, isn't this seaward anatomy, too? -I think so, yeah. -You see, but that one doesn't feel like anatomy. That feels like a bad word. -It's just so. It's just a little taboo, you know? Yeah. But like a preface, it's not the seaward. -A little taboo. -Not the seaward seaward. -Which seaweed are you talking about? -You're talking about the seaward seaward? -Yeah, is that anatomy? -That's an actual body part. -But that's like, that's derogatory, unless you're in the UK. -You're still excited to catch the baby? -I am, I am. Yeah, we decide, guys, we have. -See, why does that feel like a pipe dream right now? Like, actually, like, going in, getting birth, everything being, like, successful? Like, in my head, I'm like, it's going to happen, but I'm also like, can't picture it. -Yeah, uh, I truly think it's going to be the best birth experience ever. -Personally. -Oh, that's the type of energy. -NUX, and my thought process is based in science. Because my mom told me that every time she get birth, it got easier. -That's scientific. -Yep, science. -But there's shoes to that. -You and your mom were talking about it? That's sweet. -I mean, my whole life, she was always like, "Oh, the first was awful. I thought I was going to die." And then she was like, and then by the third, it was like, pop out, like, so easy. -Really? -Yeah, I was using that. -Did you guys talk about it recently when they were in town? -Uh, I feel like she's talked about it with you, and Abigail, and different pregnant women. -Has your dad ever sat you down and been like? -You know how it is in my family. We tell the same story over and over. -Every family does that. -Every family, yeah. But I feel like it's extra worse in my family. -They do have their stories. -Yeah. -But I like that. -I repeat myself like crazy. -True. -Like, I literally repeat people. I want people to be like, "Hey, by the way, you've told me this before and not even just one time." Like, you've told me so many times. But then I say, "That's how you know I'm not lying." -I feel like for everyone that's listened to our show since the beginning, they probably heard us say the same thing more than once before as well. -You know, I repeat myself on the podcast a million times, and I'd be like, "You already said that." -Sorry, I'm like, "Really?" -Sorry. Please forgive us. -I just like to hear myself talk, apparently. I mean, who else would have? Why else would I have two podcasts a week? Hours of footage of just me running my voice. I can't even listen to my own voice. So I don't know how people are doing it, but I applaud them. -I personally like your voice. I think it's unique. I think it's cute. I think it's lovely. It completely sold out. Everybody was buying this stuff. It's kind of hard with this new company that we've never done something like this before. - We go with the word company again. - Oh, okay. With this new product, we've never done something like this and knowing how much to make and plan for demand is something that I guess like every business does, but we're just new to it. - So what's crazy is that we have had, I mean, just being in the space that we are, we've had a lot of brands and companies, like legit companies, asked to do some type of partnership where it's like, it's like their company, but then they help you somewhat design and tweak your own product with them. Obviously, there's limitations there. And every single time we've presented with that opportunity, it's always just been like, no, because we had this vision for like what this, for what our mascara could be. And also, I was like, when I do something, I want it to be like fully us, fully our own. No, this is literally no shade to anyone that does that other option. I love partnerships and I purchased them and I support them and I'm excited about them. That's just wasn't what we wanted to do, like that wasn't the vision for what we had. But after doing that, I'm like, man, there's a lot of perks because they can project inventory needs, quite a bit better. They can handle a lot of the things website-wise, shipping-wise, legality-wise, everything. They could handle that. But like us doing that internally was really crazy. And also made it extremely rewarding. - Yeah, I'm really, really proud of you. - Like I don't think, let me just give you a little bit of, like we have them because obviously you know you've been a part of this, that's very beginning. But like it wasn't like, we just like, I don't know, I used a mascara and I was like, this is great. Put my name on it. It was like, we literally, it's chemistry. And I've learned so much from doing this. Like it's literally like a chemist is like creating this formula with us to be the perfect formula for like what I like love in a mascara. And to fix all the problems with the existing mascaras that I really liked, but just weren't like right there. And so like, it's literally chemistry. We're working with a lab like, and then it's just, there's so many steps to it. - Yeah, and also. - There's so many regulations and tests. - And it takes a long time from. - Look at this paperwork. Goodness. - Addie printed this all off for the launch party. - Oh. - It's 75 pages. - Wait, wait, sorry, what is all this paperwork? - So this right here is the full service finish product specification that we did with the lab. - This is one product. - This is one. This is everything that went into that one product. - Yes. - 75 pages. - Yes. - That's ridiculous. - And even just like doing that like from the beginning, it's just, it's been so cool to learn everything. And it's something that I was like, you know, you say things, you're like, oh, I'll be so cool I did this, but like in the back of your head, you're like, well, if that happens, you know, that's probably not gonna actually happen. It happened. - Yeah. - And now it's like in people's hands and it's so cool. - Yeah. - Like they're loving the product too as much as I am. And I obviously feel like there's a lot of things that we still need to work out. We're working on other things that have also been in the works long before this launch had happened. But now that the launch happened and it was so successful and makes these other existing products and projects, like all that more exciting because it's like, people are wanting it. And so that, like people, it's really just fueled by like my own love of mascara, but then also like this community and like wanting to meet a need. And like I feel like a lot of us moms, like if makeup is gonna take more than like honestly, five minutes, it's like I can't afford that amount of time. But I do want to touch on something really quick though because it's like obviously I'm the first to leave the house with no makeup some days and I think there's nothing wrong with that and I think it's really healthy and good and like sometimes it's just not the number one priority. But for those days that I do get it in which I wear makeup most days of the week, I just feel like a different type of confidence. I feel like a different type of just femininity, identity, like I just feel more ready to take on my day. And I think moms and other women know what I mean. Like it's not like, oh, I need this to leave. But sometimes it's just like that little piece of identity that you're getting back and that little piece of confidence that you're just like, okay, like it's just, especially in a season where like you're really not prioritizing yourself. Like being a mom to babies and toddlers and I can't speak for the future stages. But in general like being a mom is like one of the most selfless things you can do. And so it's just one little piece to like show yourself some love. Show yourself some like femininity and confidence. And so yeah, I'm really excited about everything that is we're coming in advance. I even though I can say I feel like so many times with the mascara I was like trying to talk about it and just kept getting edited out. So I'm like, what am I gonna say? That's gonna be not okay. We have more calls every single day about it and more testing and I-- - You're a full of moms and you're-- - I'm looking at you right now and I really need to test the product on you honestly. Yeah, I mean especially Especially if the baby comes early, which I think is more likely than ever Abby was just feeling What's it called cramps? So I've been getting braxton hicks like I know those just extremely extremely mild one How would you describe a braxton hick to someone that's never experienced a braxton? It literally just feels like you're tummy tightening and That probably can't even feel too good doesn't it? It doesn't hurt. It's just like a intensity a pressure Yeah, the thing that I feel like it's kind of hurts is like if you're having that and then the baby starts kicking Then that's where it's like oh the craziest thing that I've seen you experience is already having contractions They've never been like time that much apart. I saw your face like spark right there But I've never seen them like close apart at least recently But I just like feeling your belly when you have a contraction holy cow like it is such a Brick and muscle just going to work. Yes. Yes That's exactly what it is. It is a muscle. Yes Yeah, and I think I actually saw something recently or maybe it was our doula No, I think it was our doula. Okay. She was like people get intensity and pain When it comes to birth and like contractions confused, like intensity doesn't necessarily mean pain. Yeah And I mean, I was like that's interesting because I don't remember it feeling good, but it is true like it's really intense But I guess not necessarily painful at least especially early on in labor This isn't labor. This isn't real labor. It's just like I get a little crampy get a little Braxton Hickey, why did we wait till the fourth pregnancy to hire a doula? I don't know because I feel like this is the smartest thing We've ever done really okay because we were going back and forth on the horn. Yes, I think it's so smart Yeah, I think it's a good idea because that's like that's all they do and look doctors We've you know been so fortunate to have good doctors that especially like in crisis with the first pregnancy You know Abby's doctor just like jumped into action and just knew what to do when when she you know Experience our son getting stuck in the birth canal like doctors are amazing But something that I've noticed from now having a doula work with us is the doula has like all the bedside manner and then some Yeah, that's true We didn't necessarily always have that before. Yeah, they just know how to like answer any questions We might have and not make us feel rushed not especially not make you feel rushed because you know doctors They're they're you know delivering babies your own doctors and the one delivering it You're just now meeting the nurse. It's really nice to have I'm assuming it's going to be really nice to have a familiar face Yeah, that is extremely friendly. Yeah, and also like So much of like our labor before was like just me and you in the room and and with the doula now We've had more time with this doula just in like one prep course Then we come over tomorrow then we ever had like combined I would say for both pregnancies before with with our your first doctor Now I you know obviously Obviously the the new doctor that you have now we you know We've spent a lot of time with her because of miscarriage and all sorts of you know things that have come with that But if it weren't for that delivery that you had last year. I feel like just We just like the appointments with her just very very quick. It's like yeah five minutes here 10 minutes there So it's nice that the doula can like really hang out with us and we can get to know her That's true, and then also I feel like she makes me less afraid to speak up About things like I'm not even saying like I trust my doctor's judgment And I like I want to know what their opinion is but just like I feel more confident to have like an actual birth plan because someone else Is gonna say it yeah, cuz it's like for us. We felt kind of like bad like I don't want to bother them or like yeah Like saying like oh you want to catch the baby or we want to do XY or Z. Yeah, it's put our placenta in a cooler. Please it's almost like it's almost like the doula It's like the doula is there more for your feelings and the doctor is there more for your health. That's great I love I love someone there for both doctors job Let's make sure everyone like lives and doesn't have any serious injuries and do I think that doctors also just there to be like Really conservative with risk. Yeah. Oh, yeah a hundred percent and that's why you know That's why sometimes doctors will not recommend a V-Back because they they just are very Weary of taking on risk. Yeah, but yeah, I like that the that the doula Well, then look at the risk and say okay. Well, there's a 1% chance for you Or it's a 2% chance of this thing happening. So I think that's cool I'm glad that you that your friend who had a doula recommended her to you And then got a shout-out Who everybody was actually gonna go on always here. That's what it is. I'm like oh, but They are gonna be I trust that everyone will be kind to them and They're awesome, so they should be they they have no reason to not be But it'll be fun. Yes, because I think this is good plan. Okay, so shout out grandma and grandpa Abby's parents are going to have our two boys that are already here over at their house for a week while we adjust. Just for a bedtime. Oh, just overnight. Yeah, just overnight. Okay, so our boys are at our actually didn't even know that. I just thought they were there. They were gone. I thought they were having a stay-cation at grandma. Well, we were at least meet their brother and see mom and dad and make sure everything's okay, but then they'll spend the night at their house. Okay, so yeah, our boys are spending the night at grandma and grandpa's aka honey and gau and that's going to allow us to like fully support each other and like bond with new baby newborn stage because I feel like the first week is the hardest, right? The first week is like obviously the most demanding, but also I think it's really important that like we both in the night like have each other support. Yeah, especially like for me like recovering from birth and then like just learning how to breastfeed and then also like both of us just like bonding with this baby like yeah, like obviously our kids know that we love them so much and like we have all this history, but this baby is like I'm new to this world like who do I who can I who was my mom and dad like all these things. So that's like the focus of our week one is like everyone just like kind of letting the dust settle like brothers meet baby brother and I think I honestly think our boys are gonna adjust really well. I hope this isn't naive of me, but like they're very flexible and also just very excited to have a baby brother but also they're very independent and so I think like at worst our boys are going to just be disinterested in the baby. How do you feel about our boys starting school? Because that's happening at the same time. They're also just gonna go to like a half day preschool just a few days of the week just like in someone's home. Are you happy or sad about that? So sad being you want to why? Why? Because I was listening to the Finding Nemo story with them today in the car and they're like first day of school. It's like at the end of the movie Marlon and Nemo and then he like swims off and then he like comes back and he says I love you dad and then swims back to school. I'm then I thought you're so sweet. You're so sweet. And I thought about them having their little backpacks walking into school. That I think we should unenroll them actually. I think that's a bad plan. My favorite was last night our kids just running around no clothes on whatsoever running into each other and laughing. They probably did that like 75 times. Are you crying too? No actually. I mean it got me. That struck me. He comes back and says love you dad and then goes back off to school. Like they're just so fun and I'm like I know it'll be good for them to like learn but gosh but I got to go you know and then I was like very sure that we can never send them to full day five days of the week. That's a big adjustment. That's a very big adjustment. They can't go to high school that's never. But I think it will be good and this is all starting around the same time that we're going to have a baby probably. So I think they're going to be very well suited for the transition in the sense of like there's a couple things changing at the same time. So then everything like they're we're all listen to new routines. Yeah. So it's not just like oh all of a sudden baby. Yeah. Mom can't go out in the morning and have a fun activity with us every single day. Like it's like they already have their own things and they're very very excited about school. They talk about it all the time. One of them's just going to like a home preschool and the other one's going to a monastery preschool. So they of course bring their backpacks with them everywhere. Especially when we travel. That's like their favorite thing is to put toys inside their backpack for the trip. So they're going to have a lot of things to look forward to at the same transition. It's not even related to the baby. But that's week one and then I'm assuming that by week two let's just say successful V back. I'm feeling better after week. Obviously still heavily postpartum. But me and the baby are getting a little bit more experience with the breast feeding thing. Breastfeeding is going well. You obviously can't feed the baby in the night. And then if you do feed him a bottle I would still need a pump. So then I will then switch to taking over baby mode in the nights. And you take over toddler mode in the nights. Yeah. Which you would think that our toddlers have very little requirements in the nights. That would be incorrect. I have a lot of requirements. They've been asking me quite often now to sleep in the room with them. Yeah. And I'm afraid you actually might do it. I think they know that that could be on the horizon for us. Are you going to do it? What do you think? Do you want me to or would you rather be sleeping in the room with you and our newborn? I honestly kind of like the idea of you sleeping with the toddlers because then I'm not working up to the monitor. Yeah, you're not getting woken up by our kids too. Yeah, like I only have one kid to wake me up. And if you're like up for two hours in the night breast feeding then with our kids wake up at 630 you could sleep when our baby sleeps for 830. I think that's a good setup. Yeah. We're going to have to navigate that one as it comes. But in that mode you're on toddler duty. I'm on baby duty. Obviously if I need to you're going to be stepping in with the baby too during the day and like I'll be obviously not neglecting our toddlers. I feel like I have to say that because you've got to cross all your bases on the internet. But that will be like more how we navigate. Like I'm the primary contact for baby, your primary contact for Griffin and Augie. And you're probably wondering Matt and Abby, what's happening with this whole like fitting five people in a vehicle? How are you going to? Don't you need a new car? Yeah, I'm going to have two road vehicles. Do you want to fill everybody in on what happened with the mom car situation? I got my mom car. Abby got her mom car. It's official. We have it. I forced you into a mom car because I was like there's no way we're fitting three mega car seats in the back comfortably. Yeah, that's true. And then you upgraded me to a very nice mom car and it's been really nice. It's been really great. Yeah. So Abby was like right now it feels so frivolous because we literally have two kids. Yeah. But I know we're going to be glad we have the extra space. I'm kind of a an electric vehicle like guy I guess I guess I just love electric vehicles. And then Abby's like I want a vehicle that has three rows. And so there's not a lot on the market right now. Yeah, there's there's not a lot that have there's actually there's actually only one electric vehicle on the market. That's a family vehicle that has captain seats, right? Am I incorrect? Was it the key? Yeah, the key at EV9 had captain seats. But then the back row was like super small. No trunk. And there was no trunk space. So then we ended up we ended up going for the escalade. Yeah. And so that's what that's what we ended up with. It's super super nice and like I just know that we're going to get a lot of use out of it. Yeah. We're already planning road trips in it. Yeah. Once baby comes I feel really safe driving it. And yeah, it feels really it feels real now. I think once we install the baby's car seat in there and we have three big car seats when it's going to be like oh wow, this is real. And yeah, it's very exciting. Yeah. Three kids is a logistical jump for sure. It is. It is. I think before we even have three like I'm just the logistics are are it's a jump for sure. Two is like pretty compact when you really think about it. A family of four. I wonder who the kids are going to take after because I feel like our second born takes after me. Mostly I feel like I feel like everything that he does my mom would be like oh, used to do that when you were a kid Matt. Yes. And then our first born takes after Abby. So I'm curious who the next new baby boy is going to take after. Probably me. You think you? Yeah, I think it's me. Why you? No, I'm just kidding. I have no idea. I think he's going to be a blend. Yeah. I don't know which one of us is more chill because I feel like this baby is going to be chill. That might just be wishful thinking. It depends on what it is. I feel like you're very laid back for a mom. Really? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You definitely are. Okay. I mean, unfortunately, neither one of us are chill. Well, here's the thing. No, I think you're chill because a chill mom would have never allowed our kids to have a stockpile of toys in the in the closet for like, what was that? No, that's just me, Omega. That was that was going on for like 12 months. If you guys have ever seen like our cleaning videos on TikTok, I always would put a little video in of our toy closet and it looked bad, you guys. It was just a freaking stockpile of toys all, you know, all jumbled up together and when they come to our house, head straight for it. And Abby has such sweet friends. Abby, who is actually in the room right now, our sister-in-law, Abby. She threw Abby a surprise party for her for her mascara company. And so then when everybody was over for the mascara, launched and celebrating Abby. They were like, wait a minute, what if we all together joined in in like one hour or whatever, we'll clean this space. >> Launch party to turn into a clubhouse overhaul. >> How long did that take you and all your friends to clean the toy closet? >> It was less than two hours. >> Oh wow, okay, so it did. So yeah, that still was like a while, but you had how many women working together? >> Five. >> Five women spent an hour and 45 minutes on the toy closet? >> Yeah, probably. >> And now it looks so good. >> It does, it's so like that night after we like organized everything, like we don't need a bunch of stuff. Like actually got to scrub the floor, that was gross, that was disgusting. And we needed to just put that out there. >> Those hadn't been cleaned in a minute. >> Yeah. >> But. >> Should I even say, like, Kayla, how do you do a butternife to get something off the floor? >> God. >> We don't know what it was. >> But hey, now- >> Bio hazard. >> But now there's a section for weapons. They have their lightsaber. >> There's a weapon section- >> A weapon section. >> Big truck section, little truck section, action figure section, little action figure section, balls, more balls, scooters. >> Legos. >> Legos. >> Blocks, trains. >> The train section is cool too. I love that every single bin they can take out, play with it and then put it back. And it's not all jumbled up together. >> And they actually do. >> They do. >> You were so right about that, by the way. >> Thank you. >> Abby explaining this idea to me, which I thought was so silly, which is if you have all of your kids' toys like super organized, they'll get more play out of them. And I think you're 100% right. >> Yes. >> Because now they're like, ah, we play with our blocks. Okay, time to put them away and then we, you know- >> They're like, what are we going to play with next? It's like you're making a conscious decision, rather than just like tripping on a toy and being like, oh, I'll play with that. >> And if you're a parent- >> Where's all the other ones? >> If you're like a parent and you're like, yeah, right, how do you get your kids to pick up your blocks? Here's how you do it, you say, whoever picks up their blocks first gets to be the first to have their popsicle. And then once one kid has popsicle- >> You bribe them. >> Once one kid has a popsicle then the other kid's like, oh, I want one too. >> Yeah, you know, that's one of those things, and before you're a parent, you're like, I'm not going to bribe or negotiate with a two-year-old. >> Yeah, you'd have to. >> And then you have a two-year-old, and you're like, this is the only leverage I have. >> Exactly. >> We've organized a lot of areas of our house because I feel like the thing that was stressing me out more was like making sure that our older kids were like Uber organized before baby comes, because I know that they're, I'm not going to be able to focus on that. >> Yeah. >> Once you see or so I want to make sure everything is in place for them, and then I'll be fully focusing on baby, and I think also just like third baby realizing they really don't need much in place. >> Yeah. >> Like that's like not the priority, and especially with having like extra help with the older boys, I want to make sure that's like seamless for whoever stepping in like giving extra help, like my parents watching them for that. >> Totally. >> By the time, yeah, we officially went through all their clothes, and like going through all the toys, went through the mudroom, like got rid of the shoes that don't fit, and like everything is like kind of finding its place, we still have to do all the baby stuff. >> Yeah, the house is looking really good, it's looking so much more, yeah, nesting has begun, it's looking more organized, looking tidy, I think getting rid of things too is so nice. Like you guys, we thank goodness have this system in our neighborhood where like every month or so they have bulk trash pick up, and I had all this junk that was just like piling up in the back corner of our house, and I set like a bunch of it out. >> Yeah. >> One man's junk is another man's junk, because a bunch of people took it. >> And so that's what I did, I actually put out some things that like I felt bad about throwing away, so I was like I need to donate these, but then I realized wait a second, people will even drive around, and like pick up, you know, if it's a rug, or if it's a fence, or you know, whatever it may be, to like either take it for themselves, or get it for free and resell it. She literally begs and rings her bell all day long to go outside and get in our pool. >> Yeah. >> And she just swims laps constantly. >> Yeah, she's basically part-odd. >> And so during the launch party, everything's happening on the same day, of course. >> Yeah. >> She's outside swimming, but since people were inside, she kept seeing people coming. And so every once in a while, she'd be barking to come inside, just get right back in the pool and start swimming laps. It was not like a constant thing, but yeah, my opinion is that this neighbor couldn't file for a noise thing because it was 6.30 pm. >> Yeah. >> And so they just wanted to just go ahead and send the cops over. >> So actually, everyone kept commenting on how she's just swimming laps and loves the pool. The cop was literally so apologetic, though. They were like, I'm so sorry, like clearly your dog, because pretzel loves anyone. >> Yeah, so she's a sweet dog. >> She runs and she's like, sopping wet and so excited. And she was already inside at this point, too, like the time that he came. And he was like, I'm so sorry, because you just made my day by having such a happy, joyful dog to agree. And he was like such a nice cop, but yeah, dang it, I think we need to send those neighbors some donuts or something. >> I know, maybe they're going through something, maybe they wish they had a dog and they don't have one. >> I don't think they want to know. >> I don't think they like dogs at all, that's my, okay. >> Yeah, yeah, that's my thing. >> Interesting. >> Interesting. >> Yeah, that would be the word for interesting. >> Interesting. Anyway, maybe we should invite them over for a swim. >> Speaking of pretzel, speaking of our dog pretzel, you guys submitted some questions for us on Instagram. And I wanted to address a couple of these, because we love just getting to talk with you and chat with you. And want to know what's on your mind. So the first of these questions is, how is life going with mispretzel and how old is she now? >> How old is she, like nine or ten months? >> Yeah, she's getting close to being a year old. >> She's ten months. >> She's ten months old. She was born in September of 2025. >> She's so cute, like she's genuinely, like we look at her and we're like, she's so beautiful. >> And-- >> I just love Goldrich years, too. >> And she plays so well with the boys, too. >> Yeah. >> Like, it cracks me up whenever, if I'm not being the bad guy, when it comes to playing with the boys, like my sons love it when our boys love it when I pretend to be a bad guy, pretzel is the bad guy. So they're like, oh, it's the bad guy. We just have to remind them that they can't actually hit pretzel with the lightsaber. They just, you know, we can pretend, you know, we can pretend that. >> Pretend to pretzel at all costs. >> She is a dog, and we can't-- >> We live in creature, we can't hit her with the lightsaber, okay? That's not okay. >> Yes. I think because pretzel never, like, entered into our family and we already had toddlers, she's like, she knows no different. >> Yeah. >> So she's just like, she's so chill with that stuff. She's definitely still a puppy. >> Oh, yeah. >> Definitely very eager when guests come over, very, maybe kind of think she's a cat. >> Yeah. >> She does know how to go and walks now, which is-- >> Just how to jump onto our dining table, we found out. >> She did jump on our dining table the other day. >> Like a cat. >> She did not get trained to do that in training. - She got trained not to do that, and she was broken. That's what one of our kids sells her. He says, "Presil, don't forget your training." He says, "Twaining." - Twaining? - Don't forget your twaining. So yeah, she's naughty for sure. She's gorgeous, she's fun, she's an amazing swimmer. And there's something that happens if you have a dog after you have kids is that you don't, she'll never be given, she was never in the kid position in her heart, if that makes sense. So she's fully in the pet position, and we love her. - Yeah, I think the funniest thing is just how much energy she has, and how long she can swim. - She's an athlete. - Like, she's, I swear guys, she's part-oddored because she legitimately, like I've seen her try to like dive down to the pool. Like now it's not even fun enough for her to just like swim back and forth and get toys. - She wants to like, freaking scuba dive and touch the bottom. - She's not better for that. - Like can dogs actually do that? I don't know. - I don't think so. - I have no idea, but she's trying to push the limits. - She literally loves to swim. - Maybe she needs to go in a dog show, honestly. Like maybe she'd win the whole thing. - No, she'd really smell a hot dog and just run. - If there's a dog diving competition, I think Pretz will win it. - I know, don't tell our neighbors, gosh. - Oh my gosh. Next question, do you guys like living in Arizona? - Yes. - I would say ask me not in the month of July. - You don't ask me last week, holy. - What was the weather last week? Like 110 every day, if not more? No more than that. - It was offensive. - Yeah, so hot. - Yeah. - So ridiculously hot. - Yeah. It's that heat will bring it temper out of me, seriously. - Yeah, yeah. - I'm gonna get your car seats right now. - I know. - 'Cause you, it doesn't cool off until the vehicle's moving. - Yep. And if you're not in the pool, I just don't, like, it's being outside when you're not in the pool, it's pretty. It's also great that our dog loves to swim if I have to say that too, because she literally wouldn't be able to walk most hours of the day without burning her paws. - Yeah. - Or, but she needs a lot of activity. She's a high energy breed. - Well, I think that's why those pet services, the doggy treadmill companies exist, because people literally need to walk their dog on a treadmill. - Why does that feel like Wally? - Maybe, yeah, yeah, probably. That makes sense. - People no longer walk their dogs. They just have a mobile treadmill service. - Do you even like the movie Wally? 'Cause I think it kinda sucks, to be honest. - I do, I like the songs in it, soundtrack. - It's so boring. I think it's, I don't think it's that great in a movie. Personally, that's just my thing. - I think you are a little overstimulated. - I think I would go cocoa or up. I think those, like-- - Oh, yeah, I agree, I agree. - So much better. Next question we have is, where/how long have you guys lived the longest? We've actually lived in Arizona, longer than any other state together. No wait, maybe that's wrong. Because we were in Missouri together, 2017, 18, 19, 20, so I think we're tied now. I think we're tied between Missouri and Arizona. - Crazy. - Yeah, we're about to hit longest state together in Arizona. - I don't like Arizona. - I know, we've been here, we've been here a long time. - It's a great home base. - Yeah, it is a good home base. - Yeah. - Nice living next to a major international airport because last year when we went to see Usher for Abby's Christmas present, we were able-- - Oh my gosh. - You should just say we went to London. - We went to London and we were able to fly directly there from the future. - Because you Usher did just come to Phoenix like a month ago. - See, that's why-- - That would have been a little less travel. - Yeah, I wanted you to get to be the first to see it. - It wasn't because of Usher, it's because we wanted to go to London. - Which was dope, it was really cool. - It was dope. - Yeah, I think we should take our kids next. - And notice we didn't go see Usher when he was in Phoenix. If we were really that mega of a fan, how would we ever pass that up? - You're right, you're right. You bring up a good point. - I think after seeing Usher, I was like, maybe I won't go to another-- - Usher, no. - Sorry, it was just a little bit. - Seeing him do his cherries, demonstration live, for anybody that doesn't know, Usher goes around the whole stadium with cherries and lets women eat them from his hand. And I feel like that's everything you need to know right there. - Yeah, and it goes on for a really-- - A really long time. - A really long time. - It's also extra funny when it's like a couple, and then the wife asked permission from her dad. - Why don't I not even fully get it? Like I don't understand why it's so raunchy, but it feels raunchy. - It's Usher feeding you cherries. Like how could-- - Is this supposed to symbolize something? - Yeah, I feel like it's-- - I see, you don't fully get it either. We're getting views. - I feel like it's the very brink of play, you know? - No, that part was, that was a lot, but then also there's just a lot. There's pole dancing. - There was a hole. - Nobody preferred Usher. - Actually, sexy moment that lasts a really long time. - And the whole reason I did this was because Abby was all excited to go to an Usher concert in Phoenix like three years ago, and I thought that we should go to one together, but nobody told us that there was going to be all of that, but it was, it was a great show. They did a great job. - We should have assumed given his music. - The dancers, all the dancers were very talented. They did roller skating on the stage. - There was some roller skating. - Yep. - Some booty dancing. - Shadow dancing, doing some very-- - Some bedroom scenes. - bedroom-like positions. - We were literally just like, and everyone around us is like so into him, where he's like, "Yes." I get that, I felt so, I never felt more like a prudent my life. I just didn't know how to behave in that environment. You know what I mean? It was a great time. - Hey, we can't pretend that we're that naive though, because one of our favorite shows of all time is Game of Thrones. That is like, you know-- - Totally different vibes, Matt. - Totally different vibes. Yeah, totally different vibes. - True. - But with different vibes. - Literally, completely. - So we just changed the subject there. That was way off. This next question is from Kate Bush. She said, "Is the dad-bod real?" - Wait, I think she's my friend. - Do you know this person? - I don't know. I think you wanted to college with her. - Okay, is the dad-bod real? I'm gonna say yes. - No. - I feel like it happens, you know? - I think you look more attractive than ever. - Well, I do think I look like more manly. - You don't have a soft midsection, literally all. - Well, thank you. - You're chiseled. - But the thing that makes me feel better about myself is apparently, I think I've said this before. - You're much more attractive this way. - Oh, thank you. But apparently-- - Oh, I thought that's what you're saying. - Like, sympathy weight is the thing. Like, your hormones as the male change just like your wife's hormones change too. Even though you're not physically the one growing the baby, it's very common for men to gain and lose weight along with their wives. So, fun fact there. I didn't know that until, not that long ago actually. So. - Of course. - Yeah. - You're one. - Next question we have is, would you ever move back to Missouri? - I love Missouri. - You know, I actually felt the strong urge to experience all four seasons again. It is really fun to feel like, you know, the weather change and it's fall and it's just not so hot anymore and the leaves are changing codlers. And then, especially spring to-- - I don't think about that though necessarily when I see most of Missouri. - You don't? - I do. - I guess maybe-- - You know the plants. - When I've flown back to Missouri after being in Arizona for a long time, especially if it's like, may, I'm just like, holy cow, it is so great. - It does look a lot greener. I will say, I feel like I really like visiting because you get a taste of that. But then like, by day five, you're like, wait, I haven't seen the sun. Like, it's just been gray. - Yeah. - And that, like, you forget how much I take for granted, the sunshine here. The sunshine just makes me so, so happy. So I think for now, I would love to visit Missouri which we need to do. We've been back for a minute. - Yeah, we should go. I would love to take the kids back to the St. Louis Zoo because that zoo is so nice and it's completely free and I think they would really like going up in the arch too. - You do that with them. - Oh yeah. I think you would be way too claustrophobic. We've never even been in the arch together. I did it and I didn't want to do it again. - How have we never been in the St. Louis Archie other baby? - No, it's messed up. - Crazy. - Maybe we would get weird. - Yeah, I don't know that I want to do it again, but you have to get in this really tiny elevator. It's just, I'm claustrophobic. We should go back to Missouri, but, well, maybe Christmas time. - I think we should go back for Christmas time. - Yeah. But I think for now, it's not really, our life is really here in Arizona. So, yeah, I agree. But have so much fondness for Missouri. How do you feel about us having weekly date nights again? - So much fun. - We started doing that again based on couples therapy. - Yeah. - They're like maybe get something in place before baby, where you like have a minute to like regroup. And obviously with breastfeeding, baby's gonna be coming with us, but we just started early like, get that structure in place and it's been so fun. - It's so good. - We don't even do anything crazy, but it's just so fun. - Yeah, I, uh. - That's the thing about being parents is that like, you really appreciate the smaller like moments that you can get away so much more. Like that would have just been a regular night before kids, like where we would just like happen to go out to eat. But now it's like, I like look forward to it so much. - Oh yeah. - I got those questions for couples so we can do those while we can. go out to dinner? On another note, our scale died at the perfect timing. - Oh, yeah, you're so right. - I have no idea how to charge that thing. - I know, I tried to charge it, but then all of the different plugs that I have don't fit it. So I have to find, I have to go through all of our cords and figure out which one it was. - You could just use it for the next year. - Yeah, I don't know, I want to know what I weigh. I would like to know. - Can't relate. (laughs) - We have a lot of questions about intimacy in here, but I feel like we've already answered all of those. I feel like you can just refer to one of our other episodes. - What? - For that, I don't know, just like, how do you prioritize that time for each other? And honestly, I would say yes. Like I think we've gotten into such a good routine with our boys, I think they are just not nearly to the level of high needs that they used to be with us having to do multiple diaper changes a day. And even like feeding, like you kind of have to like, yeah, your kid will breastfeed but then after breastfeeding you have to like spoon feed your kid every meal. Our kids feed themselves, they like, okay, kind of. They do ask us to feed them. But like they-- - We shouldn't admit to that. - There's so much that they do all on their own. - Yeah, that's true. - Like our oldest will even put on his own shoes, put on his own-- - No, he gets himself dressed every morning. - Holy dressed. - He can do it all by himself. - Which is actually my recommendation to you. Like if you can find outfits that are like matching sets and then put them together in a drawer, he is able to pick out outfits every single day for himself and put his pajamas away, throw their polips away, they're very independent boys. And I'm very proud of them for that. - I agree, yeah, they-- - I think that's why they're so confident. Like I think that like really has helped them. But yeah, we are in a good place. It's kind of wild that we're, we have no kids and diapers right now, we're about to obviously enter into a very diaper heavy season again. But it's crazy how they both aren't wearing diapers. We're not changing diapers right now. - I know, we did have a season there where we were thrown away underwear left and right because potty trading just-- - Regress with travel. - Yeah, when you travel, we were in Florida and it was hard, you know, reminding-- - So many kids in that house, he was having so much fun and he didn't want to stop and go potty, man. - Yeah, but I think we're back to-- - To not having any accidents, which is so nice. - In a 45 minute gym class though, I'm leaving like at least twice for them, yeah. - Really? - You have to leave twice. - Different times, 'cause actually of all of our friends, I'm the only one that has two potty trained kids. - No way. - Isn't that crazy? - That is crazy. - I'm like, why do I get called out way more than everybody else it feels like? And it's because different times. - Yeah. - I'm like, maybe you should just ask the other one if they need to empty out because they probably could stand to go. Some about boys is that they never really quite empty out. - I don't know if it's just my OCD, but it's so hard for me to communicate to them, make sure that when we go to the bathroom, they just aren't really aware of germs the most. And I try to tell them every time it's not touch the toilet, let's not put our body on the toilet. You really don't ever want to touch that thing. And somehow they always do, so we're still working on that part of things. Even like drinking water out of a water fountain, still working through the, hey, don't like put your mouth actually on the fountain part. - That's gonna take a long time. As a person that subbed in elementary schools. - Just kids just put their mouth straight on the bed. - Yeah, they're sucking on that thing. It's disgusting. - How old were the kids that were doing that baby? - Elementary age, like. - It's like seven, eight. - Yeah. - Eight-year-olds still put their mouth on the water fountain? - Oh gosh. It's pretty nasty. - So it looks like we're gonna have a lot more of that, but. - Yeah, I'm scared for cold and flu season with three kids. - Oh goodness, yeah. - Ooh. - Anywho, we could not be more excited for the life changes that are about to happen in our life. It's gonna be, it's gonna be, you know, so busy there for a little bit. But. - Honestly though, this past season has been so busy that like, it'll be busy in a different way, I guess. But like, I'm really looking forward to slowing down with a baby. - Yeah. - Like, that is, they call it the newborn bubble. Like, I'm really excited for that. I already have like the shows I wanna watch postpartum. I've never seen "Go More Girls" so I wanna watch that. That feels like a cozy show. I can watch while nursing. And I just, I'm not at the point where I'm just like, I'm so excited. And it's been a long time coming. It's been such a long journey. And I think that makes this all feel so much more, like big and rewarding. - Yeah, 100%. - And like, even just like the thought of seeing you, like, you with any baby, like, I always say this 'cause I feel like people probably would not guess it. But you are so good with babies. And like, it's so attractive to me when you have a baby and especially when it's our baby. But then also just like, leaving the hospital, like carrying, you know, they call it the hot dad walk, carrying the first seat. Like, I'm just excited for all of that. And we just need to get some stuff set up. Now, I don't think about it. Kind of set up the crib. Gotta wash the baby clothes. - We wanna do a new bed. - I need a breast pant. - Are we doing a new bassinet? - Yeah, we got a new one because I gave my other one to Addy. - Ah, okay, okay, cool. - So many babies are gonna be sleeping in that Griffin, Augie, Brielle, new baby. - Yes. - It's a good bassinet. That one was the Mama Roo, not Mama Roo, four moms bassinet. - Four moms bassinet. - This time we're trying, I think it's a halo bassinet. - I love it. - I couldn't take it back. She's got another one coming. So, anyway. How has it been recovering from jet lag? Because you didn't really get a chance to recover. Were you up for 27 hours straight after coming home from Turkey? - I think it was, I think it was closer to 24. But yeah, I was up for about an entire day flying from Istanbul all the way back to Phoenix, Arizona. - Wait a minute, Turkey A. - Turkey A, you're right, they changed the name. Guys, did you know this? Turkey changed their name a couple of years ago. - Let me know as someone who's just in Turkey. What did the turkens say? - Is it turkens? - They're kinda split. - Is it turkens? They can't be turkens. - I don't think people call them turkens. - The turkishens. - I don't think that's the term. But everybody says something different. Like the correct way to say it is Turkey A, I guess the turks, turks. - Turks. - Turks. - That's cuter. - The turks, I've always had like the A sound at the end of the country's name. But then recently they decided, let's have everybody say that, or at least English speakers say that. - Oh, so is that kinda like, if we were to say instead of Mexico, if we were to say Mexico? - Exactly, exactly. - Ooh, I like that. They're like, no, say it like we say it. - Yeah. - I like that. So I mean, that's cool. - That's kind of a power move when you think about it. - I mean, from everybody that I talked to there, they were pretty amped that they had beat the US in the World Cup. Obviously, like, we're out of the World Cup. - Are they the ones that booted us out? No. - No. The game that we played them in really didn't matter for either country. - I just watched that game. - But yeah, no, it's a beautiful country. I took my little brother Josh there for a hair transplant, and he was so excited. He'd never been out of the country before, and so it was just cool getting to see him experience. - That transport just for it. - Yeah, just for this trip. - And now he's got a new head of hair coming. - Yes. Which when I told him about getting a hair transplant, he had so many questions, so I just knew that he would want and love getting a hair transplant too. And-- - Is that genetic? - I think it is. It's just like-- - Maybe there's a genetic component to it. - Male pattern baldness is genetic. And a lot of people incorrectly think that it's all from the mom. It's not. It's actually both your parents. Isn't the old wives tell that it's the mom's dad? I think so. I think that's the old wives' tale, but that wives' tale isn't true. It's all the genes matter. Well, it's surprised me when you said that so they're moving follicles from the back of your head to the front of your head. And you can't regrow follicles at the front, but the ones in the back can regrow. Yes, exactly. Except, okay, they're bringing the hair follicles from where you have a lot of densely populated hairs to the spot on your head where you have no hair at all. And so if you get too many hair transplants done, then you can end up in a situation where you can't even like your hairs don't regrow from where they reharvest or they harvested from. So that's why you got to be careful not to get it done, you know, too much because it stopped working. I actually don't even know. I just know that I'll probably need to get another hair transplant at some point in my life, because it's not like a one in a- especially if you get it done when you're younger on the younger side, it's probably- you're probably going to have recession at some point later in life. I'm not going to lie. I felt so bad for him because my experience getting the transplant done- We're struggling a little. Yeah, like the day of the procedure, my head hurt so bad. But for Josh, he didn't have that same reaction. Like I think it's just everybody has a different reaction to local anesthetic and pain medicine. And so for me- We got swollen, he didn't really get that swollen. Exactly. That was the other thing too. My head really swelled up like a watermelon and his didn't. He's like a donut. Yeah, so he just either he's tougher than me. He's also slightly different though because he had like scabs on his head. Yeah. You didn't really have scabs. Not the most, not as much as he did. He did get a bigger transplant done. So you would have thought that it would have been a harder recovery. It's crazy. They did fully shave his head. I didn't have to fully shave my head. That's true. I got the DHI technique done, which don't ask me what that stands for. I completely forget, but he had an FUE transplant done where they make incisions in your head for some reason. Never get niche. Interesting. Yeah. Well, that's crazy. Yeah. You guys get to do any sightseeing. I mean, I know, but I just want to hear you say it. Totally. I mean, we got to check out the blue mosque, which is literally older than the United States of America. It's a 410-year-old mosque. So beautiful. So stunning. It's right across from the highest Sophia mosque, which at one point was cathedral in the Eastern Orthodox Church. So that was really cool. So many stray cats in Turkey that we got to see and try to pet. One actually tried to bite me. So I had to jump back when the cat got, you know, I guess what the Turks told me was that the cat was like kind of maybe nervous around me. So I tried to pet her. I did. But only after other people were petting the cat. So I thought, oh, everyone's petting the cat. We're good. And the cat was like, not you. So my cat growing up would sleep with me, prefer choose to sleep with me. Yeah. And then bite me in the morning. So that's not very nice. You can never trust a cat. Not night. Yeah, you can't. You really can't. But there was that. Oh, I also showed the video, babe. Josh and I got Turkish ice cream and they do this whole little skit where they pretend to give you your ice cream. And then they take it away from you. And they have it like connected to this little metal rod. And so they put it on top of the cone and then you go to take it and then they pull the ice cream off and it's not even like on the cone. And then they hand it to you. Grab it. But then it's still the ice cream is like connected to the cone at the top. But then the cone you grab is just like a decoy cone and it slips through your hands. So they just they just mess with you. That's like a thing. Yes, it's a whole thing. Yeah, it's pretty funny. So they mess with Josh and I doing that. Did you know it's going to happen? They did. Some people filled me in on the whole, you know, I like that prank. But it, I mean, it's so funny. That's funny. Yeah. I love that. Yeah. But overall, it was long travel day. Yeah, long travel day, getting there, getting back. But could not be happier for Josh. He's just so excited to have that full head of hair. I'm happy for him to. Yeah. I'm excited to see his results. Yeah. Because obviously you guys had different types of like hair loss. So I feel like it's going to be interesting. Exactly. Yeah, it was really sweet. We did you get this on the YouTube video? What? Josh asking you asked his boyfriend, no, who asked his boyfriend? Your dad asked his boyfriend, are you excited to see Josh with a full head of hair? And he was like, I don't really like he's really excited about it. So I'm excited about it. But I don't really care. Yeah. He's so tall. Anyway, I know when he's dumb said, like you just had a really sweet and cute response. He did. So that's just sweet. I wish I caught that on video. I actually didn't get that on video. And I wasn't there for that. Did you hear, were you there when that happened? I think your parents told me. Oh, okay. Yeah. That's sweet. I'm excited for him. He's such a sweet guy and he deserves, he deserves to do something special for himself. 100% everyone needs a little something to give him a little confidence boost. And it's cool that he got to do it to you because otherwise, he probably never would have gotten to do this. So what a cool opportunity. You guys get to do together. We literally picked you up from the airport, me and the kids. And then I was like, Hey, by the way, I'm leaving at 7 a.m. for massage. I felt bad about that. But that was all that was available. And I really need a massage. Well, I'm glad you went to the massage. The kids and I had an amazing time at a trampoline park. And I jumped with them. That was so much fun. You deserve that massage. 100%. Oh my gosh. I will, I will agree to that one. I literally was at the dentist yesterday because I'm trying to get all my appointments like in before I'm like yeah. And plus I got a lot of cavities when I was pregnant in the past. And so I was literally in the chair and the hygienist goes, um, is your baby moving? And I was like, yeah, she can literally see my belly going like all over the place. That's hilarious. That's how active this dude is. Yeah. And even when we've gotten different ultrasounds done, the, the text have always talked about how active our baby is. Yeah, she's like, this is the mode. And she was like a grandma. She was a grandma. And she was like, I've done this for a really long time. And I, it's been a while since I've seen a baby that active. So maybe my predictions of this baby being chill are maybe incorrect. Might have a very hyper child on our hands. That would be great. So honestly, we can handle it. Yeah. We have two toddlers and a hyper dog like we got this. He's going to fit in just great. Well, everybody, thank you again for tuning into another episode of unplanned.
