Morgan Stewart delivers a detailed, emotionally charged review of the 2024 Met Gala red carpet, offering a personalized critique of each major celebrity’s outfit. She highlights Chris Jenner’s Dolce & Gabbana gown as her standout, praising its elegance and cohesion, while criticizing Kylie Jenner’s look as unbalanced and poorly executed. Kendall Jenner’s dress is commended for its artistic inspiration and polish, though some elements like the nude bodice are questioned. Morgan expresses strong disapproval of Anne Hathaway’s dress, calling it heavy and unflattering despite her glamorous makeup. Blake Lively’s Versace look is seen as fun and colorful but overdone, while Gigi Hadid’s Miu Miu ensemble is deemed underwhelming due to poor undergarment design. Sabrina Carpenter’s dress is praised for its creativity but ruined by a mismatched, heavy shoe. Throughout, Morgan stresses the immense pressure and emotional toll of the event, arguing that fashion at the Met is like an Instagram grid—performative and under scrutiny. She emphasizes that thoughtful preparation, artistic intention, and consistency in design are vital, and that last-minute changes often lead to failures. Her review blends personal taste with observations on fashion trends, pressure, and the emotional labor behind red carpet appearances, ultimately celebrating bold, intentional choices while calling out superficial or poorly considered pieces.
hey everyone i'm morgan stewart and welcome to the morgan stewart show i'm going to be talking
about pop culture fashion my personal life and just a warning i will be giving my opinions on
everything and those opinions are subject to change okay now let's get into it okay you guys

100 messages being like we don't want to wait i didn't want to wait it was really hard for me
but here we are okay so we're gonna get into it we're excited thumbs up brendan excited jessica
excited okay kim cody we're all here i have first of all
you
Until then, thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did, make sure to subscribe so you don't miss out on any future content. I will see you guys in the next one.
I'll see you guys in the next one.
Yes, I understand there's mixed emotions. I understand there's an air of confusion, maybe
disappointment when chris jenner walked on those steps and a lot of people gagged me i'm not gonna
lie like i was really intensely intently all of it looking at all the people coming up the steps
chris to me felt like she was wearing something that mary kate olsen would wear it it fully felt
like true fashion the glam the hair the sort of vibe of the dress the sequins
the embellishments the color i don't know what it is i don't know if this
it like rocked me because this is like a 70 year old woman that's like in the prime of her life but
i thought it was so fucking good i know kim is like bitch you're out of your mind you're out of
your mind i know but i just think she checked all the boxes and i fucking loved it obviously not
obviously but um chris were dolce and gabbana which we know mixed feelings on that but i will say i
don't know what it is this is
maybe her best look ever in the time that we've known chris jenner so i have to give that shout
okay so here's the thing i am a huge kim kardashian fan i have like
been with her through all of the years all of the seasons all of the hair colors i've understood
most of what she's done and i do think a lot of people's
strong opinions comes from them not understanding the angle or the inspiration behind something
in 20 when was it 2015 when she was with kanye and she went to paris and she had that freshly
dyed blonde hair and became a fashion girl i was signed the fuck up i like could not get enough of
that this is the first time i i didn't i wasn't riding with it i i love blonde kim i think the
hair looks good that's kind of what i want my hair color and hair to look like at all times
i it was just a bit too i understand the composition is interesting it's obviously
very sculptural the colors are interesting but the bottom half and sort of the skirt
that was attached to the bodice which who i know who let me grab my phone but
i i just felt like was very high school project it did not it didn't work for me and i i understand
it but it didn't i really fucking hate it i hate to say that but i really did not like it
also i should probably go to the instagram and have it on my phone of all the
things that i'm going to talk about today kim was not a win kim was not a win for me i was not into
it kylie guys kylie ate the fuck down kylie has never never shown up on a red carpet like that
the deconstructed dress the bleach blonde eyebrow and body i couldn't fucking handle it i don't know
kardashian jenner clan i don't know what they had to drink last night or what motivation was was in
them this is hands down the best she's ever looked the necklace the earrings the glam the hair the
bleached brow everything was so intentional and executed so perfectly and if you saw there was
also footage of her walking out of the hotel where she had like sort of a either the dress kind of
um covered like covered like she was wrapped in the dress or it was like a cape or something but
it was
so beautiful she should be really impressed with herself because again
chris is still my best dress but kylie you did it girl you fucking did it looks so fucking good
who made kylie's dress scaparelli scaparelli okay custom scaparelli okay so chris jenner wore
dolce and gabbana kylie wore custom scaparelli the best custom scaparelli i think of the entire
night okay let's talk about kendall jenner kendall jenner on the carpet zach posen for gap
it was inspired well it was obviously of the nike sculpture but it was inspired by the gap white
t-shirt that's what i read and saw which is sort of what kim did a few years ago with the balenciaga
when she did the face covering in the black kendall looked as close to perfection as you
possibly could have my only thought and i'm not even saying that i wanted this to be the case
but it was a thought that entered my mind was when she had the nude bodice underneath with the with
the fabric draping around her i had the thought that i wasn't sure if i would have preferred it
no bodice and just had the fabric drape around her actual boob and give real nipple and just
have it be that sort of like tight stretch sort of wet look i don't know i just that was something
that came to my mind i don't know how i feel about the imprinted nipple but i understand it's
it's off it's modeled after a sculpture so that makes sense and it's interesting that her and
was like a complete accident um i thought she looked unbelievable i mean the shot of the night
as kim pointed out was when she went inside the met and she fluffed up the dress to have it look
like wings and you got the full sort of picture of what the dress looked like i mean unbelievable
and by the way something that i should have mentioned at the top of this episode is that
the theme was fashion as art which is a theme but is also a bit ambiguous and is up
it's up to interpretation right like that doesn't mean where
x y and z like you know a lot of people did model their clothes after sculptures or famous paintings
and you know drew inspiration from that but like a lot of people just wore dresses that
had nothing to do with anything so the theme is always what trips people up but anyway i thought
kardashian jenner clan last night really some of the best looks ever i'm not gonna lie i thought
it was unbelievable okay so let's get into some other people let's talk about anne hathaway
i just saw the devil wears prada so i just feel like she's fresh in my mind
i hated anne's dress i thought that her glam looked amazing i thought that her gold necklace
looked beautiful i loved her jewelry i hated that dress i know it was michael kors michael
kors being a legend himself i adore him he always looks so great and tan and healthy
hydrated i i don't know something about this dress felt very heavy overly just i don't not embellished
but just patterned and i just thought it was so beautiful and i just thought it was so beautiful
patterned and i i didn't i didn't dig it and i felt like it definitely and as we before we started
recording everybody in the studio was like it definitely just feels like something anne would
wear which does track but i feel like why not step outside of the box obviously you are in the biggest
movie of all time right now you were sort of the embodiment of like what fashion is supposed to be
and i don't know i just didn't like it did you like it i did like it i liked it a lot um i love
someone that can fit into a theme very well and i think she she did that she did that she did that
she understood the assignment yes but was it taking a risk no no but she understood the
assignment she understood the assignment i think my point is that it's just ugly and that's fair
and that's fair right i just think it was like an ugly dress i mean brendan do you have any thoughts
on the dress sweetie what's going on i can't see it oh okay good that's great cody did you like the
dress i didn't mind it but i don't think of anne hathaway someone who's gonna like show up at the
interstee yeah and i don't even know if i need interesting from anne i think i just didn't like
it it just i did not like it okay moving on from anne do you want to talk about blake lively sure
okay i have so many feelings and thoughts about blake lively as a longtime blake lively fan i don't
know how i feel about her in this exact moment in time i mean it is pretty i i think it's pretty
shameless that she showed up at the interstee i don't know how i feel about her in this exact
moment in time i mean it is pretty shameless that she showed up after they just had settled i mean
look at the end of the day like she has to move on with her life and i don't know the details of
what went on but i mean to show face i mean if i was blake i might have stayed home just because
It's been a very tumultuous time for me, and I probably wouldn't want to deal with, like, getting dressed and having to face all those people.
But good for her.
She wanted to get out there.
I have always liked Blake on the red carpet.
I think it's really fun.
I understand that in some ways it is bad taste, but there's something about her that I like what she wears.
I think that this Versace dress was fun.
It was colorful.
It was buoyant.
It was big.
There was a lot of fabric.
The colors were pretty.
She looked great.
Her face looked great.
Her arms looked fucking ridiculous.
I really—I didn't mind it.
Oh, the comments are not nice.
Damn.
I'm literally looking at a picture of Blake via the cut, and there's just throw-up emoji after throw-up emoji, which I think is just not necessary.
But I really did like the dress.
It's sort of like was—it's probably, like, Ro's biggest, like, fan—fantasy to wear that dress.
It's giving, like, unicorns, rainbows, and butterflies, and those cookies when we were kids.
Like, dipped in the sprinkles, the animal crackers.
That's what it's giving.
Is that what it's giving?
Cody, what were you going to say?
Something?
You're looking at me.
It's giving my little pony.
It is giving—oh, it's giving my big pony.
I mean, that fucking—that looks like a heavy dress.
And there was footage of her going up the stairs where she was kind of, like, talking.
Did you see where she was talking to the guys?
And she was like, no, you need to, like, not just bunch this fucking dress up.
You need to, like, let it cascade down.
I was like, then you should have brought someone with you.
Like, these guys are just trying to get you from point A to point B.
Which, by the way, just to pause, we have to shout out.
All of the people in their show blacks last night who are fucking hustling their ass up and down that carpet.
Making sure these A-list celebrities who are pretty self-unaware—pretty unaware of themselves, not self-aware.
You know, having to just, like, maneuver them from point A to point B.
Get up the steps.
This person's coming on.
There is so much work, so much thought that goes into that.
And also, shout out to all the reporters on either side of the steps.
Because I have to shout out my girl, Zuri Hall.
I mean, the animalistic instincts that take over when you are fighting in front of people.
Trying to get anybody to say anything to you is a very high-stress position.
And everyone did a really good job.
Okay.
Gigi Hadid.
Gigi Hadid is so beautiful.
That's also tricky.
When you're naturally such a beautiful person, which I think is going to also play into my Hailey Bieber commentary.
It's almost, like, sucks because you don't have to try as much.
So, sometimes the outfit comes second because you look good in everything in your face.
Always looks good.
When you don't, when you have to try hard with the face, it's more pressure.
I thought the dress was pretty.
The body looked crazy.
Crazy.
Like, un-fucking-believable.
Everything was just insane in proportion.
Face looked great.
Hair looked great.
Loved it.
The dress was lackluster for me.
And I have to say, I did not like the bloomers underneath.
I thought they were too ruffled.
It didn't work.
And I think the undergarment, if it's going to show as a main piece of the outfit, has to be really intentional.
And you have to make fucking sure that that is the right look.
And I just, and I knew that they were Miu Miu bloomers.
I understand because she was in custom Miu Miu.
It just, it was lackluster for me and didn't do much.
And I have to say, she never really is, like, a red carpet favorite of mine.
But, again, she's, like, so gorgeous.
If Gigi would have worn Kendall's dress, the Met would have shut the fuck down.
I mean, Kendall's.
Kendall shut it the fuck down, but Gigi would have looked insane in that.
Okay, let's talk about Iowa Debris.
She's become our rising star.
She's our girl.
The face is insane.
Body's insane.
She wore custom Chanel, styled by Danielle Goldberg, who also is probably top five stylists of all time at this point.
I think she has a deep understanding of fashion.
And she really dresses her girls individually and correctly.
And I think she really takes her time and understands all of them individually, which is really important, I think, with some stylists.
They just try to put everyone in the same vibe, and it does not work.
Kim, you didn't like Ayo's dress, or you did, like, I am not putting words in your mouth.
So what do you think about Ayo's dress?
I think the pictures that I saw really were just thigh up.
But when you watch the videos, it really does flow a lot more.
I like the structure of the shoulder.
And I think Ayo looks great in almost anything she wears.
She is a person that really doesn't have to try that hard, but she has such taste.
And I think that she is a proper muse for a lot of stylists.
So I, seeing the videos, really, really liked her dress.
More than the photos.
The photos.
Photos are really tough.
I also think what you said about, like, the taste.
Like, you can tell who has an understanding of fashion, who truly has input in what they're wearing.
And then you can also tell the people that are just being put in things, and they're just like, I just showed up.
Ayo is definitely that person that understands what she likes, what she doesn't like.
At least that's what it seems like.
I mean, she wore custom Chanel.
I thought it was pretty ethereal.
I thought it was beautiful.
I really liked it.
I understand what you're saying about the photos.
The shoe is a perfect match.
Another thing I want to say.
Because I'm now, like, bubbling up with all these thoughts.
When you have a dress that is a specific color that is out of the box, whether, even if it's black, if you try to pair a dress with a silver or gold shoe as a neutral, I want to fucking kill myself.
You cannot.
No, stop it.
Don't do it.
If you're in marigold, you need to have a satin marigold shoe fucking dyed to perfection.
Brendan, are you listening to this?
It's important, okay?
I want you to know.
I want you to understand this.
Thank you.
That I can't deal with.
If you think that you're in this, like, avant-garde fashion dress that's, like, over-the-top and gorgeous and then, like, nobody's focused on your shoes and then you have, like, a gold heel that has nothing to do with what you're wearing, right?
Horrific.
Silver, no.
The shoe has to match or it has to go completely against the grain, but it has to feel like it was thought of.
And I see that way too much, which is why I'm going to segue into Sabrina Carpenter right now.
Is everyone ready for that?
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Sabrina Carpenter wore—let me pull it up.
What did she wear?
She wore a dress of film role.
You know what I'm doing right now?
I want everyone to know in real time.
I am trying to text Sabrina Carpenter in my phone.
I'm searching Sabrina in my texts, okay?
That is the type of host and person I am.
Okay.
Let me go to Check the Tag.
Shout out Check the Tag because I always get all of my information from Check the Tag.
Okay.
Sabrina—okay.
So I'm going to segue into Sabrina Carpenter.
Custom Christian Dior.
On the way here, I was making a joke or like as I was thinking about what I was going to
say about everybody and I was like, oh my God, it looks like old film role.
The youth doesn't know what that is.
And then I—then it really was.
It's been confirmed that it is film role.
Headpiece, fine.
Dress, I actually thought a step forward in terms of fashion for Sabrina.
I like it.
I think it fit her well.
I think it was fun and flirty and playful and creative.
The shoe.
Fun, flouncy, flirty.
Fun and then all of a sudden you're like thump.
Like these big fucking heavy suede velvet—like suede black pump.
Like that's absolutely not the shoe.
And as a girl that wore a Louboutin daffodil, which is what she's wearing exclusively for
four years, I have them in literally nine colors in storage.
Verify, Jessica.
Do I not?
Yeah.
Okay.
I know that shoe.
I know the height you get on that shoe.
I understand the importance of that shoe.
That shoe should not have been the—
The fucking shoe that she wore with the custom Dior dress.
It doesn't work.
Do you agree?
Agreed.
Doesn't work.
That should have been—you could have gotten the height.
It should have been either a black satin or a very subtle dark muted charcoal or gray open toe.
The shoe doesn't work.
So everything she's done with all of this work just destroyed with that shoe.
Doesn't go.
Doesn't go at all.
I got really just riled up with that because when I saw her go up the stairs last night,
the posing was incredible.
The face is incredible.
She's our pop princess.
Shoes, not—they were not good for me.
Katy Perry.
Now I'm really getting into it.
Guys, I have to, like, compose myself because when I get going on the fashion journey,
it really kills me because these people have so much access.
They take weeks.
Weeks for prep, right?
Like, we see them one night.
They are getting lymphatic drainages.
They are doing all—allegedly, I'm assuming, and I would as well, so just for the record.
They are doing any sort of GLP-1.
They're on a detox.
They're drinking soup.
They're doing everything to look gorgeous.
And then the night comes, and when it's not a hit, it must hurt.
Katy, you can laugh out loud.
I want you to.
Sorry.
I want you to.
This is what we're doing here, guys.
I want—everyone can get on the mic and laugh as much as they want.
Perry.
I love Katy.
She's got some bops.
She's—she's part of the generation.
I understood—well, I was told that the face mask, the sort of beekeeper-adjacent helmet
is because that's how all of the models in—or the mannequins look when you go inside the exhibit.
So that's sophisticated and thoughtful.
She's in custom Stella McCartney.
I don't think this was the mood—now we're looking at—
We're looking at a picture of her with the mask open.
I just don't think it hit the way maybe they intended it to.
I think also when you rely too much on a gimmick for something like this, like, there's—I mean, art goes back thousands and thousands and thousands of years.
There's so many things that you can pull from.
So I just felt like this fell short.
She looks good.
I mean, that's the thing.
None of this of what we're talking about is anyone's physical appearance because everyone looks beautiful.
I mean, they have hair and makeup and spackle and shine.
fishing line and everything you fucking need to look beautiful they have at their distribution
I just feel like this was not what needed to happen.
Right?
Didn't need to happen.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
Kim is like, we're on this ride.
Heidi Klum.
What the fuck is Heidi Klum on?
It was funny.
It was funny as fuck.
At first, okay, when I first saw Heidi Klum come on the screen.
I literally gasped.
I said, oh, my God.
I thought it was Billie Eilish.
Everyone thought it was Billie Eilish.
I really was shooketh.
And then, so, explain to, and I should know this.
What the fuck is she wearing?
Because I was literally trying not to keep all my opinions to myself.
But she's at least creative and artistic.
And, you know, she does that Halloween party every single year.
So, you know, go off, Heidi.
I mean, the thing about Heidi, my favorite fact about her beyond what she's wearing to the Met Gala,
is that Heidi is never tired.
I literally sleep nine hours.
I'm exhausted.
Okay?
My eyes are puffy.
I'm tired as fuck.
And Heidi Klum, she's going from yacht to plane to hosting The Voice.
She's not on The Voice.
What show is she on?
She's on America's Next.
She's on something.
She's on lots of shows.
She's on lots of vacations.
And she's in lots of places.
And she's never tired.
She is upbeat.
My girl Heidi is upbeat.
But I thought it was funny.
And I thought it was a good reference.
Okay.
I'm scared.
It was crazy, right?
But also, like, who is she enlisting to do all of these things for her?
Because that takes time.
That also, another thing about Heidi Klum, I want to pause on Heidi.
The patience this woman must have.
If I have glam that goes over an hour and 25 minutes, I am moody.
I want to be done.
There's only so much you can do to make my face look decent.
Heidi is sitting in that chair for, it must be six hours.
Minimum.
She's doing thriller makeup every time she's leaving the fucking house.
I mean, she's doing top to bottom fucking makeover.
It's crazy.
Oh, okay.
Another one.
Guys.
Oh, is the audience, like, turning the volume down when I'm screaming into the mic?
Charli XCX.
I.
I didn't like it.
I really did not like Charli XCX.
I think Charli XCX is one of the most effortlessly sexy women.
She just looks good on stage.
And just this, the tone of the stomach is something.
Like, I really can't, I don't understand how it's possible.
I think she looks pretty.
The dress really fell flat.
And here's the thing.
Like, it did, right?
Do you agree with that?
I think it's a beautiful dress and she's incredible.
But I think I would have gone bigger for the Met.
You're Charli XCX.
But this is the other thing that is tricky.
When you have a contract with a house, you are, you know, expected and not forced, but
you are supposed to wear the house.
And YSL, obviously.
Has done unbelievable things.
It's one of my favorite brands.
I'm in Saint Laurent today because I wasn't going to talk shit about people and not wear
something proper.
I thought the dress fell flat.
The dress felt like you wear it to a wedding in Monaco in the end, at the end of June with
a guy you're newly dating and you don't know anyone at the wedding.
That's what it felt like.
It felt like that.
Right?
What would you have done differently?
I would have, this dress wouldn't exist.
First of all, I would have liked to have seen her in white or a color or just something
a bit more avant-garde.
Like I, when I talk.
When I talk about Charli XCX, I, even this, I mean, what is this?
She had better looks during the Wuthering Heights.
Yes, the premiere.
Run, this is what this is.
You know what I think it is sometimes?
I think with the Met, there is so much pressure to perform.
And this is what I want to say before we continue on.
The Met Gala looks are the equivalent to your Instagram grid.
And the after party looks are equivalent to your Instagram story.
The Instagram story, okay?
Always performs better because there's less pressure and that Paris filter is readily
available.
Okay?
So what happens is it's all of the lead up and it just falls flat.
So then you need to just focus, you need the story energy, which we're going to go in back
in time because I, listen, I told you this is the Morgan Stewart show.
We were going to talk Met.
I didn't say it was going to be organized.
Kendall's after party look.
I thought might've riled.
Right?
Rival, rivaled, riled, riled, and rivaled.
Might've riled the car.
Rivaled.
Rivaled.
No, I knew it was rivaled.
Okay.
No, I was fucking with you, Kim.
Could you imagine?
Sorry.
She's like, bitch, it's rivaled.
I'm sorry.
No, I love you.
Rivaled her red carpet look.
Guys, don't adjust anything.
I'm just, I'm thinking to myself for a second.
I'm picturing her on the carpet and I'm going to retract.
She wore the right dress on the carpet.
The after party look was a really nice addition to the red carpet look.
I love that she walked out with sort of the creamy beige sand color veil over the face.
The bodice being fully exposed, having sort of the fabric train run through the bodice.
I thought it was absolutely gorgeous, stunning and dramatic and really good taste.
Another person I want to talk about in terms of Instagram story and grid.
Miss Haley Bieber.
We haven't talked about Haley Bieber.
Cody, did you see Haley Bieber?
Of course.
Okay.
I just pulled it up for you.
I know.
I appreciate that so much because my phone keeps turning off.
Going back to what I said about Gigi Hadid, when you're so naturally beautiful and look
hydrated and poreless and the hair looks like this day and night, it's almost like you can
rely too much of that and then people forget like how much you need to focus in on the
dress.
I did not like this.
I liked the idea of this.
I'm not a huge fan of this color combination, especially for Haley.
And let me tell you why I didn't like it even more so.
I don't feel when Haley left the hotel room that Haley liked it.
I didn't think she, I think when she walked out of wherever she got ready uptown, I saw
some footage of her and she was just sort of like, let me get into this fucking Sprinter van.
Let me get this.
Let me get this over with.
I didn't feel like a sense of happiness and like she ate down.
I know that she was with YSL.
She's no longer with YSL.
She wore YSL to the Met.
Fabulous.
But I didn't feel like this was her best.
Do we agree with that thought or you liked it?
I always think it's interesting when things are sculpted to someone's body.
Yeah.
But I think what Haley suffered from is the same thing that Kim suffered from.
Really interesting top, really not into the bottom.
I mean, I understand.
No, I think that's a good point.
I understand sort of the bodice vibe and I like it, but I also feel like, and I hate
to say this, but I didn't think it was even that flattering the way it cut her.
I don't think she felt that good in it.
So, I mean, look, we've seen this type of look before throughout the decades of fashion
that we've been looking at it.
I just, it wasn't my favorite for her and Haley is so beautiful and effortless.
I really want to see her have a huge red carpet win.
I don't think there's been a moment where she's looked gorgeous many times over, but
when you think of Haley Bieber, do you think of a specific time where you're like, that
is the fucking look.
I mean, this girl has built a business out of literally fucking nothing.
She's one of the biggest stars we have right now.
I need a Danielle Goldberg moment with Haley.
I need her to like get in there and wear a white thong and a white feeder.
She could literally fucking do that.
No problem.
So, but Haley's after party, her story post, she looked happy.
She looked gorgeous.
I really liked that.
I thought that that was fun.
Yes.
Look at her.
She looks beautiful.
I thought it was interesting.
I'm into that.
I would have preferred her that she wore this to the mat, I'm not gonna lie.
Another thing I want to mention as Kim and I stare at this, the cape cascading over Haley's
shoulders, you pointed out, beautiful, helped, but otherwise felt like a bit lackluster.
Damn it.
Okay.
We need to get Haley.
We need to get Haley to have her like serious moment here.
Yeah.
You know what it's giving?
It's giving a lot of effort because obviously what is the process of getting your body molded
to that?
And then-
Everyone got 3D printed this year.
3D.
Yeah.
And then it's like for it to not pay off.
But anyway, I think really what influenced, as I said, what really influenced my opinion
on Haley's look was that I don't think that Haley liked her look.
I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that.
Want to talk about nerves on the carpet because you have to go up the steps and not trip and
all that.
The nerve.
You guys.
If you're going from your hotel to your car, to the carpet, then by the way, fuck the carpet.
You're waiting in line for sometimes half an hour, okay?
You need to make sure that your makeup is in place.
You have to pose correctly.
There is absolutely nothing relaxed about the entire process.
There's a lot of pressure on these people.
So that's really tough.
So oh, I'm curious what you guys think about this one.
Olivia Wilde.
Did we see Olivia Wilde?
She was in Custom Tom Brown.
Olivia Wilde is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood.
She is striking.
I loved the black.
I loved the cut.
She looked like a pregnant spider to me.
The back of this dress, it literally looked like some sort of Halloween graphic.
I love Carla Welch.
I love Olivia.
I understand Tom is a fucking genius.
She looks like a black widow coming out from some sort of Disneyland movie ride.
It was so, I couldn't unsee that.
It literally felt like a big spider's tummy.
On the back of her ass.
So for me, it just didn't hold up.
And I'm somebody that understands things like this, but once I had that image in my mind,
couldn't move on from it. Okay, Chase Infinity. We're talking about Chase Infinity, custom Tom
Brown to piggyback off of Olivia Wilde. My initial thought was that I don't like it because those
colors together are very jarring, but it is very on theme. And it is the better of the Tom looks
for me. Hair looks great. Makeup looks great. It's a fun dress. It's the appropriate dress to
wear. So we'll give her that. Is that fair? That's fair. Fair. I also think this is another
dress where the photos aren't doing it justice. I think when you see the videos of it, it's
it's way more different. Yeah. It's also very it looks very sculptural, even though it's not. It's
obviously just the pattern of the dress. But yes, I actually the more I look at this dress, the more
I like this dress. It looks like it's painted. It definitely looks like it's painted and the body
looks crazy.
Okay. I like this dress. She looks cool. She looks like a fashion girl. You are right. Yep. I rescind
my original opinion. She looks really good. I'm still focused on the fact that Kim didn't think
I knew what rivaled meant. Okay. Zoe Kravitz. Everyone. So I think last night was first of all,
I do want to get into before I get into Zoe Kravitz. Last night felt very vacant and empty,
but yet very full. I have no idea why I feel that way.
It feels like everyone was there, yet it feels like no one was there. Does that make sense to
the group? Does that make sense? Like, I'm like, I don't know if I missed people. I mean, I watched
the E, shout out E. I watched the E carpet coverage. I watched the live Met stream or live stream Met
gala, whatever on my TikTok. I was like, where is everybody? Everyone's there, but nobody's there.
Zoe Kravitz. Much like Kris Jenner, this was her best red carpet look I have ever seen.
And yes, she's had some good looks. She's always appropriately dressed in terms of theme when she
was playing Catwoman. YSL Anthony did a lot of those things where there was like the kitties
over the boobs. Remember all of those looks? Obviously, that face is fucking. I don't even
know how you achieve a face like that. I'm so far away from that. Look at her. Fucking crazy.
This is her best look ever. I love the dress. I love the lace. I love the bodice. I love that
it was just. It hit the theme. It feels like that 18th century skirt without doing too much. Do you love it?
I really did love it.
Right?
Yeah, I think she looks lovely.
She does look lovely, but she looks edgy and she looks cool. And another thing that I want to say
about Zoe Kravitz, I love that there was no necklace. Sometimes people are putting on a
necklace for no reason. I'm like, we don't need to do that. We need to be thinking. And I also
think a rule of thumb for everyone who's getting ready, do your fitting two days before.
Get your photos, get your final looks, and leave it and walk away. I think the last minute deciding
things when you're emotionally heightened, I'm giving opinions to all the stylists, I think it's
just better to just leave it alone. You made the decision when your brain was much more rash. There's
no reason to just go and add a bunch of shit last minute. And sometimes I think that happens. Oh,
Danielle Goldberg again. So Danielle Goldberg, who's the sister of a friend of mine, she fucking,
she really understands her clients. Okay, let's also talk about Nicole Kidman. Should we try
calling Jason Bolden and see if he answers? Why not? Okay, so Jason Bolden, Jason Bolden dressed
Nicole. Jason Bolden's top five favorite people. He's probably not going to answer because he's in
hell. We're talking about Nicole Kidman on camera, bitch.
I just want to know, so because she's literally everyone's basically best dressed. I want to know,
just first of all, tell me anything. Give me something. Nicole, what, how did you feel when
she put the dress on? Gag lights out? I mean, I saw it in Beirut when we tried it on in Beirut
when she was there. And there was a couple of, it was a couple of shifts that we wanted to change.
And we did it. And, but instantly, listen, we're, it was, it was completely about contouring,
contouring, contouring.
Contouring from the waist to the face, you know, and we wanted to really make sure that it was all
set up right. But can you imagine all those like, and if you really look at the details and the,
the, the feathers, the feathers are actually flowers. Those Chanel flowers. Yeah. If you
really look, you'll find it. You'll find little ones in there. You guys, I'm literally looking
as he's explaining this to me and you fucking see those goddamn flowers. That is insane.
No, she looked, holy fuck. When she walked on,
Anna and Lauren, I literally, first of all, when you said sculpted from body to face, the face,
I don't know. I don't know how we got there, but I'm obsessed that you answered. And I just want
to know, lastly, how fucking tired are you? I'm tired. I had 12 people. Look, I'm on the tarmac.
No. Oh, that's, I love being on the tarmac. Okay. Also, I'm going to hang up with you because we're
going to, oh, not Chanel, but oh dear, there's my person. I also want to just, we're getting into
this. Nicholas Holt. Are you not okay?
I'll leave my family. What do you mean? I'm not okay. It was insane when I saw it. I couldn't
believe you did that many. And we won't even get into the other ones. It is Nicole. I will say
this has been Nicole's best look. But I can also say this. It is very hard to follow up with an
iconic red carpet person. And I feel like that will be in the, the Holy Trinity for her dresses.
A hundred percent. We're looking at a hundred percent. The color also, I don't feel like she's,
I've seen it. It was glamor. It was fashion. I love the bodice. I love that she was covered.
The hair being that long, the whole look. This was truly. Okay. I'm obsessed with you. Get on a
plane. I'll see you when you're back. I'm off the plane. I just landed. Oh, you're in LA already?
I landed. Yes. He's like, yes. Goodbye. Love you. Bye. Bye. Guys. Here's the thing. If you're
going to FaceTime a stylist who had 12 people, you're going to have to do it. You're going to
answer on the tarmac. That's how you know you have good friends. I did not tell him I was going to
call him. So he's been dressing Nicole for a bit. Obviously this is the best Nicole's ever looked
minus the one dress Dior Galeano on the carpet with Tom Cruise a million gazillion years ago.
That is iconic Nicole forever. And the fact that we're pointing out the, the, I think he's
referring to the camellias, but you can see that they are not. Anyway, Nicole looked amazing. She
was definitely one of my tops. Let's talk about Nicholas, Nicholas Holt. It's our first man. Do you
want to, do you want to gag on the mic? It's fucking insane. Guys, Nicholas Holt in custom
Prada, full leather. I don't even know what you want me to say about it. It, it, no, no, no. We're
watching the video. It's cool. Everyone's hands are up. The women in the, Brendan's the only one
keeping together all the women. They're literally contemplating their life choices. It's it's I am
I want to take every piece of clothing off right now. It's crazy. And I have a hot ass husband,
but this, he did it well and it's cool. It's not too much. I hate let's get, let's get a still shot
side by side. Let's just look, let's just look one more time. Yeah. I'd pay his bills. I pay
his bills. It's crazy. And you know what I like about it? It's fashion. I don't even know what
I'm saying. It's fashion. It's fashion, but it's when the guys do too much,
and it becomes theatrical and so far out of their comfort zone, it doesn't work.
So keeping a guy cool in line, we got to, we got to change the photo of Nicholas Holt. I can't look
at it anymore. It's crazy. Jason did Nicholas Holt. I mean, he, he's literally been prepping
for this for a hundred fucking months. Um, should we talk about Julianne Moore? Bottega Veneta
inspired by the Madam X portrait who also Lauren Sanchez, which we'll get into also inspired by
Madam X. I will say.
Lauren looked chic. She looked for her. Kim is not into it. She did look chic. The Navy looked
good. She did feel when she walked on the carpet, she felt a little stiff, obviously. I don't know
what that was about. Um, I thought it was one of her better looks, you know, but let's talk about
Julianne Moore. Julianne Moore is a movie star.
She's a movie star. She always looks intelligent, put together, beautiful. She does not age,
but always looks age appropriate. If that makes sense. She always looks good. Her red lip never
looks performative. It always looks like it is the right choice. This was very elegant.
And I thought it was the right choice for her. Like what else could she have worn? Right? Like
I thought it really served her well. I thought it was pretty beautiful.
I'm into it. Did you guys like it? Kind of.
I really liked it. I love Julianne Moore. I also, this is another thing where I'm like,
to go with the Morgan school of thought, like focus on the earrings. You don't need a necklace
because then you don't want to still focus from that neckline, which is so pretty.
Yeah. I think it was really beautiful. Kim, you're not, you're not excited about this one.
It's just fine for you.
Yeah. I think it's a beautiful gown on a, on a beautiful person. And I think that if you
understand art history, Kim, you're not, you're not excited about this one.
I think that if you understand art history, it hits the theme very well.
That is true. By the way, all the art historians are like, oh my God, this is their night.
Right. This is there because I did not
know this I obviously had to do some research but Madame X very famous portrait painted by
John Singer Sargent we we know he's a Capricorn I googled him his birthday is January 12th my mom's
the 11th I went deep into it he was gay friends with Oscar Wilde like don't think I didn't read
all night last night okay and also the painting was considered extremely scandalous because so
the reason it's an ode to the paint to the portrait is that there's one sleeve kind of
falling off the shoulders as I move this piece of hair. And that in the actual portrait happened
by accident and for the time was considered to be extremely scandalous. And if you pull this,
this image up, which you guys will have to at home, because I don't know if we're going to
superimpose something, but maybe we will use, this is exactly what Lauren's dress was. She did a,
it wasn't an ode to, I mean, it was the perfect match. I thought that was intentional. I thought
that was smart. I thought it was a good dress for Lauren. I really did. I mean, some of her other
looks, I mean, she's always very body con. She's always wearing Schiaparelli. Schiaparelli did
Lauren's dress. Bottega did. What the food? Julianne Moore. Right. That's how my brain can't
go much further back. It's crazy. So I thought it was good. I liked it. Okay. Who else have we
not talked about? I feel like there's so many people. Oh, hello. Emma Chamberlain. Okay. Emma
Chamberlain, custom Mugler, inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Garden of Arlès. Hopefully that's how
you say it. She looked out of control.
The dress was so gorgeous. Looked like it was hand painted. The way she was standing,
everything about the dress, absolutely no notes. She looked, my birthday twin, my May 22nd Gemini
mind. She looked so fucking cool. So fucking fashion. The dress was gorgeous. This is couture.
I mean, unbelievable. The colors, the working of everything. I mean, the way she held her arms out,
like very few people can hit it and she fucking hit it. Can we zoom in? I want to stare at it a
little bit. Is that really annoying of me? Oh, I'm making you Google again. It's fine. She looked
amazing. Did you like A$AP's thing? I did like A$AP. I mean, A$AP to me, guys, we're just,
A$AP is like a fashion girly. Like he always looks good. He always looks on theme. He always,
he has an understanding of fashion. Like A$AP never disappoints me. I want to talk about
Conor's story. Okay. Conor's story to me, first of all, Conor's story in Heated Rivalry was the
breakout star. I thought he was unbelievable. The body, the face, the acting, like he fucking
nailed that, that entire series. Hudson was my like less favorite of the two. Hudson has started,
he's like started to grow on me more in recent weeks. There's just something about him that like
there's like a star quality that you can't ignore. What I want to say about Conor, he's now signed
to YSL. The outfit he wore to his first Met last night looked like he wore to an after party for
GQ. Like this is not what you need to be wearing. It's, first of all, it's expected. It's really
lackluster. We've seen this silhouette. We've seen this, like, it's very ready to wear. There's
nothing that's that important about it. And as somebody who's like, like one of our up and coming
stars, I just wish that we could have even done like, I prefer it with the jacket, but it's just
sort of like, this is on YSL's rack. He's a part of the YSL house. We're going to put him in this.
And I would have liked him even be in a like white button down, like a proper double-breasted
suit and just gone more classic. Didn't you feel like it was after party vibes?
I felt like it was daytime vibes. It was daytime. Yeah. So that's what the top makes me feel. I do
like the jacket. Yeah. The jacket saves it a bit. But Hudson took a bigger risk. He took a swing
and maybe kind of missed for some people. I didn't love Hudson's look. Again, like when the guys get
too performative, I understand and I appreciate when men want to try things and step outside of
the box and not sort of be the classic suit, tie, bow tie, whatever look you're going for.
But there's a way to do it.
That's not so eclectic and so sort of out of the box for you. And because it very much looks like
someone told Hudson to wear this. Not Hudson was like, oh, this is cool. It was like,
you're going to the Met. You need to make a splash. He made a splash. I don't know if it
was the right splash. I was going to wait till the end, but I'm going to go into Beyonce now.
Beyonce's our queen. I'm not even saying that because I'm scared, but I truly am a huge fan
of Beyonce. It's her first Met in 10 years. She's not been to the Met in 10 years. She
was a co-chair. Whispers. Some people are saying it's because she's dropping act three. I don't
know. To be confirmed. I hated her look. I can't sit here and I didn't like the headpiece. I didn't
like the bottom piece. I didn't like the top piece. I didn't like the middle piece. I didn't
like any of it. I didn't like those feathers. She's queen, but for some reason, Olivier Rousting
designed it.
And I don't know how we landed here. And I just wish it was not what it was. And I will say that
every time I have brought up Beyonce, whether that be last night or today, everyone says what?
Blue Ivy.
Slayed.
She slayed. She looked fresh. She looked fun. She looked age appropriate. She looked gorgeous. I
mean, look at her. This girl is turning into such a gorgeous young woman. She seems like a really
nice girl. I feel like she's going to be a really nice girl. I feel like her parents have done a good job with her. Like she's in line. Like there's
parents that are involved in this girl's upbringing, which you can clearly see. First of all, I can't
believe how big she is. I don't know. Beyonce for me really was a miss, but I guess it doesn't really
matter. It's like, it doesn't fucking matter. If Beyonce wears a bad outfit, then great. Who gives
a flying fuck? You know what I mean? She's still fucking Beyonce. That's the truth of the matter.
I really didn't like the feathers though. And I just want to hit that point.
Okay. Another girly, Gracie Abrams, who I loved last night and almost
forgot to talk about, but Kim reminded me. Custom Chanel. I hope it's custom because I
don't know if it is custom. I thought she looked, again, that 18th century, she looks like a piece
of art. The embellishments, the color, the fit of the dress, everything about it made sense. It was
the right statement. She looked really gorgeous. Like there's not much else you can say. There was
a lot of like sleepy hits, I feel like, on the carpet last night. Like you really have to go
back and take a look at like who was there and who wore what. Usually you have like a feeling,
an overview of the whole evening and there's like two that stand out. But when you go through the
list of people, there were so many good people. Gracie being one of them. Another girly that I
loved yesterday and Kim reminded me of, Paloma Alessar. Holy beautiful. She looked so gorgeous.
I loved the dress. And you said this, I'm not going to steal your words. Ethereal. It felt like
the texture of the shoe. It's what was it? What was the fact about the dress that you had?
That it's a bunch of dresses stitched together from the 1920s to the 1940s.
Gorgeous. Thoughtful. I mean, her face is gorgeous. The dress reminds me of like that mid
90s vibe in a way, like those old sort of floral patterns from that time. Obviously,
it's going back much further than that. I thought that was a really special dress. It looks like
it's painted on her. So again, within theme, Hunter
Schaefer. Okay. Hunter Schaefer, custom Prada. I liked it. I don't love it. It's interesting.
It definitely has a point of view. It's not sort of just thrown together haphazardly.
I just don't think it was like my favorite. But she also, again, you have to go different routes
because she has hit it out of the park so many times. She shows up as a proper fashion girl.
She takes risks. She changes it up. Everything looks incredible on her. So
I do like this. No, I like it. I like it. I thought it was cool. Do you like it?
I do. I think at first I wasn't convinced about the bow, but then you look at the art piece side
by side and she knocked it out of the park. You need it. It's necessary. It's necessary for the
art. And also she's clearly comfortable and had fun. I'm into Hunter Schaefer. Okay. Anok Yai,
custom Balenciaga, makeup artist, Sheikah Daly. So it's what is it's literally looks like there
are tears like streaming down her face. It is you guys. I first of all, I've never seen anybody with
a face like this, but the makeup execution is so incredible. The tear. I mean, crazy. I mean,
true artistry, right? To be able to achieve something like that, have it stay in place,
have it look like there are literal tears down your face that look 3D. Because do you remember
tears many years ago and they were kind of flat to the face? These are like literally looks like
she was crying on the way in. The outfit was insane. The diamonds, the necklace and the
earrings, the cape. I mean, this is how you show up to the Met. To me, this embodies everything
fashionable about the Met. And I love that it's black. Do you know what I mean? Like they could
have gone so many, they could have gone into a bright color. Yeah, it's kind of crazy that she
looks like that. I think they're referencing the black bandana. Okay, well, there you go.
That's the right girl to do that, right? I mean, forget it. Lights out.
Okay, the person that I want to end on that I almost forgot to talk about again,
Doja Cat. I loved, loved Doja Cat's dress. I would wear that dress. I thought she looked elegant.
I thought she looked beautiful. I loved the color on her. I loved the latex. I thought the way it
draped was gorgeous, obviously in custom YSL.
And fun fact, her shoes were actually painted to like have it like look like actual skin. So there's
on the shoes like it was really thoughtful honestly before I saw Kris Jenner she might
have rivaled my best dress not the most interesting but just the way it came together for her I thought
was so beautiful and I was like do I want to end on Madonna or do I want to end on Doja Cat and
we're gonna stick with Doja Cat I fucking die for Doja Cat and I loved her look I actually know
head of VIP and press press and influence not VIP Annie who works at YSL I texted her last night I
said I'm not even ready to talk about Doja Cat I'm not ready to talk about it looks so fucking good

Kendall Jenner’s Zach Posen gown, inspired by a Nike sculpture, is seen as near-perfect but with some reservations about the nude bodice and imprinted nipple design.

She appreciates Blake Lively’s colorful, buoyant Versace dress but criticizes the excessive fabric and poor execution of the look.
Gigi Hadid’s Miu Miu dress is deemed “lackluster” due to unrefined bloomers and disproportionate proportions, though she acknowledges her natural beauty.
Sabrina Carpenter’s custom Christian Dior look is praised for creativity and playfulness, but the heavy suede shoe fatally undermines the outfit.
Morgan emphasizes that fashion at the Met Gala is under immense pressure, and that last-minute decisions often result in poor outcomes, advocating for pre-planning and artistic intentionality.
Summary:
Morgan Stewart delivers a detailed, emotionally charged review of the 2024 Met Gala red carpet, offering a personalized critique of each major celebrity’s outfit. Sabrina Carpenter’s dress is praised for its creativity but ruined by a mismatched, heavy shoe.
