to try and get to know you a little bit better. Lift it up so you can't see them and hold it very still. What was your first job? This is my first job I'd never worked before. So yeah, this is my first job. What's your favourite animal? I think dogs. I had a Westie before, but I think I, at the moment, I love sausage dogs. They're all over Instagram and all over. I just love a really want one. They're so cute. Lots of things with sausage dogs on us. Thank you. Is your bed made right now? Probably not. Yeah, mine is in either. No, it's my room's a bit of a mess. What time do you usually wake up in the morning? I'd say usually seven. Yeah, seven and then I get in commuting to work. I don't live very far, so yeah, I'd go like seven-ish. What's your favourite movie? Anything hovered through on this? Yeah, literally like, anything like conjuring or. Any of those horror films, just literally scares. Yeah, I watch them sometimes at like one clock in the morning and just go straight to sleep after. I just don't get scared. I think I've watched too many. It's just like, yeah. Yeah, I love horror films, but I tend to watch them in the day. So I don't get scared and awake all night. What's your dream holiday destination? Probably the Maldives. I'm thinking somewhere that, or maybe even somewhere like Jamaica or something, somewhere in some tropical, yeah. What's your hidden talent? Probably literally watching, I don't really know, but probably watching horror films so like everyone always says I don't know how you do it and don't get scared. Yeah, I don't really get scared. I think that is a talent. I think it's like the second after. What's your favourite biscuit? Probably digestive. Why? No, it's not, it's quite chocolatey, but it's not too intense because it's got like the oak under it. Yeah, it's not too much. Yeah. Just the right balance. Yeah. What's your favourite season? Summer. I don't know. See, I think this summer, like the last few months has been so bad that whether it's not been great. So I usually like to say summer, but I am getting excited for winter now. Just because that's where Christmas is in Halloween, like that sort of time. Yeah. So I don't know, maybe both. A little bit of both. Yeah, a little bit of both. Are you a Swiftie? I'm not. I'm not finding any Swifties they see. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I think when I'm a jungler, I used to really love her and listen to her, but I think like now, I just know. No, no. No Swifties. No, no Swifties. No Swifties. And then a couple more questions, but as usual, either all questions. I think I know the answer to the first one, capsule dogs, dogs. Are you more an introvert or an extrovert? I don't really know. I'm probably introvert now. I think. Yeah. I don't know. I think it changes. I think I did. Night out or a night in? Probably a night out. Yeah. Pineapple on pizza. No. No. That was an immediate. Absolutely not. No. Night out or an early bird? I don't know. It really depends. I think in the weekdays, definitely I am an early bird, but on the weekends of a more than night out, I don't know. I think. I feel like I'm just whenever I wake up, whenever I go. What advice would you give anybody who's currently looking at an apprenticeship? I would say networking is the main thing. Get on LinkedIn. If you want to, I don't know, if you want to do a power legal apprenticeship and you're thinking of a certain term, connect with the apprentices that are there, speak to them. I've had a few people speak to me, saying, "Can you recommend, can you give me some advice?" And stuff. And that's the best thing to speak to. People who already work there. And that was the main thing. That's the one thing that I didn't do. So when I had applied, I didn't have LinkedIn or anything. And I think that did kind of put me at a bit of a disadvantage just because other people that also had applied, they had spoken to people and kind of had tips and they were already known. I think that's really an important thing. I think it is about, part of who you know as well. But yes, that's the main thing, really. And what keeps you motivated with everything in your balancing, your work and the study, and what keeps you going, what keeps you motivated? I think it's the end goal, really, I have well want to be. So I do want to be qualified. So I think I just have to keep in that. So when there's an exam or something, stressful, I just think, just keep going through it. It will be fine. And you work into this end goal. I think it's so important to stay motivated to do things outside of work as well because sometimes that actually does help. So meeting up with your friends and finding hobbies at the moment I like to do painting and travel and stuff like that. And I think that's really important. It helps you stay motivated. So when you come back, you can focus better. I think it's really important. One of my questions is going to be how do you get that balance between work and then stuff that you want to do outside of work? Yeah, I'd say just surround yourself with things that you enjoy as well. So painting, I've been doing a lot of travelling at the moment. I'm enjoying that. But yeah, just where have you been? I went this year, I went to Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Egypt. Wow! So quite a few places this year, but yeah, I do think that as an apprentice you do get to, as you're working as well, you can travel. And I think that it really just helps stay motivated for work as well. I do really enjoy it. Yeah, yeah. You've got any other plans, any other travel plans to the end of the year? Yeah, I'm thinking of going back to Poland. I love Poland so much. Yeah. I think it's like a great place to go. So thinking of going to Krakow, the end of this year, from my birthday. Yeah, so yeah, it's fun. That's good. Looking back over your experience so far at the firm, so the last year, is there any one moment that really sticks out for you, either from a client perspective or a personal perspective in work, of like, why, that was just fantastic, or something that really sticks out as a really good memory for you so far? I'd say there's been quite a few, but I'd say one was a few of the client meetings I've had. And it's, it just kind of still feels a bit surreal for me, like getting to speak to clients, and actually meet them. And then after, especially if we've been able to resolve something or talk about something, it does feel great after. But I'd also say just, I've been involved in a society at the moment, the Birmingham Training and the List of Society. So we had a ball for that, and loads of the trainees and the apprentices went, and it was great, and after, it just felt like, wow, that was really nice, and it was nice to get to speak to other apprentices at the firm and other trainees, just other juniors really, and meet from different firms as well. So I'd say that was quite great, especially as I did that in November, so it was only at the firm for two months, and it was like, wow, this is crazy. The venue was amazing, and it was great. Oh, fantastic. My next question is around, which you sort of touched on a little bit, it was around, it isn't all just about the day job and the study, and the legal, what other things you can get involved in. I just wondered, is there anything outside of the day job that you've been involved in? So the society that I'd spoken about, I'm also a diversity and inclusion ally, but then I'm also a part of a few of the networks, so thrive and browse, and I'm part of, so I join any talks, or when there's times you can read books, instead of I do try and get involved in that. And so that's the main one's time doing at the moment. I guess looking forward what are your aspirations for the future, for the rest of your career? Well, the first one is to finish this paralegal apprenticeship. That's the first one, and get a place on this list to one. And then, yeah, I would say it would be, I'm looking for, I love my team, and I really enjoy the work, but I think I'm most, as I didn't do a law degree, well, as I'm working through it right now, don't really know what other areas of law is, as well, so it'd be nice to, and do like, just get to know other parts of the firm, and what everyone does, and then, that being my seat rotations, and then becoming qualified, that'd be nice. Yeah, yeah, it's quite a while away, yeah, but I don't know, this year has gone really quick, so, yeah, talking about it. Yeah, I'm just trying to enjoy the moment at the moment. Yeah, brilliant. And can you think of a piece of advice that anybody's ever given you that's really stuck with you and helped you so far? I would say, just do the best that you can, I know it's quite generic, but sometimes I do get stressed and think, I know I need to do this, I need to learn, I know like a few of the colleagues, just do what you can today, and just don't worry, everything will be fine anyway, I think that's like the best advice, because it is easy to get stressed and think, I know, haven't answered this email, haven't done all my reading yet, I've got an exam next week, I haven't done this, and it's easy, but just do what you can, because there's always going to be something more you can do, and it's not always viable, so I said just do what you can. It's a good piece of advice, because I know that you can do it,
