El-Sayed Turmoil After Dem Endorses Republican | 11.2.26

A dramatic shift in the Michigan Senate race unfolds as Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens endorses Republican Mike Rogers in an unexpected 11th-hour move, sparking alarm among Democrats about party integrity and extremism. The endorsement follows a controversial anti-Semitic ad promoting conspiracy theories blamed on Jews for economic issues, which experts say reflects a broader trend of the Democratic Party embracing radical, far-left ideologies to appeal to disenchanted voters. Former strategist Julian Epstein warns that this capitulation undermines core democratic values and alienates moderate, working-class, and Black communities—key voting blocs in Michigan. He predicts a decisive Republican victory, citing a reversal of traditional party support. Meanwhile, global instability intensifies: a record $6.3 billion crypto theft at Binance, linked to North Korea, triggers a tech market sell-off, while violent Halloween riots erupt across Europe, driven by far-left extremism. In Poland, President Duda confronts EU pressures to adopt the euro and reform the judiciary, facing resistance from military forces. These events echo U.S. political anxieties, with some warning that similar ideological and cultural threats could emerge domestically. The episode underscores deepening fears over extremism, financial volatility, and democratic erosion—highlighting a pivotal moment for American voters as election day approaches.

The Democrats' attempts to hold on to the Senate seat in Michigan takes a massive 11-hour hit with a shock Democrat endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers. "I am endorsing my Rogers for the United States Senate. I don't belong in Abdul's campaign. I do not stand with Hassan Piker." We talk to a Democrat strategist about how much damage a string of October surprises will do to his party's chances in the state. "I'm daily wire executive editor John Bickley with Georgia Howell. It's Monday, November 2. This is Morning Wire." The biggest bank heist in history targets crypto investors, while the stock market is shaken by a punishing tech sell-off. What does it mean for Americans for a one-kays? And an attempted high-court coup in Poland sees its conservative president take traumatic action, meanwhile, Halloween riots flare up in Germany and France. "Thanks for waking up with Morning Wire. Stay tuned. We have the news you need to know." October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which sounds like a holiday invented by the IT department. But personal cybersecurity usually comes down to ordinary moments, an email that looks legitimate, a call from a number you don't recognize, or a link you click without thinking. I've received messages that look completely real until I checked the center's full domain, and noticed something that was slightly off. That tiny detail is exactly what scammers count on. A shocking 11th-hour development in the Michigan Senate race as Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens has now come out in support of the Republican candidate, Mike Rogers. Joining us now is former Democratic House Judiciary Committee Chief Counsel Julian Epstein, who's urging Michigan voters to do the same. Julian, thank you so much for coming on. Thank you for having me. It's a pleasure to be with you this morning. So first, fill us in on what happened with Haley Stevens over the weekend, a lot of buzz about this, a lot of shock about it, actually. What's your take on it as a Democrat strategist, and do you think it's going to have an impact? Well, I think this is an ethical moment for the Democratic Party, and the fact that you only have Stevens denouncing and repudiating Syed now, I think tells you everything you need to know about the Democratic Party. But basically, what happened was an affiliated pack, which is run by Sank Unger, Hassan Piker's uncle, created an ad that basically is blaming Jews for and the Israeli state. For high prices of groceries, and this is one of the oldest, most virulently, anti-Semitic tropes that goes back into Europe for centuries, essentially saying that everything that you might be unhappy with is the fault of Jews and this sort of global conspiracy. And a generation ago, when I was working very actively inside the Democratic Party, this would have been an easy call for the leaders. This would have been an easy call to say, this is racist, this is bigoted, this is anti-Semitic, there is no place for this in our party. But what you see happening with the Democrats right now is it is a shrinking party, its traditional constituencies are abandoning it, most importantly the working class. And so what they are doing in an attempt to rebuild the party is they are capitulating to the worst forces on the global scene, which have seeped into the American political scene, this sort of red-green alliance that is virulently anti-Semitic, virulently racist. They have decided they are going to swallow anti-Semitism in the name of trying to capture votes. There is a story today, I don't know if you saw this in the New York Post, that reports that Syed supporters in various mosques in Michigan are calling for quote the final solution for Jews. And so what you are seeing with the Democratic Party is their normalization, including through the leaders. And yes, I am talking about Barack Obama, I am talking about Chuck Schumer, who I worked with for years. I am talking about basically the Democratic Party establishment using this fig leaf euphemism of Big Ten to normalize what is basically a 1939 hate wing, Nazi wing part of the Democratic left. Now, Stevens lost very narrowly to El Sayed. Do you think that her followers are going to follow her to vote, or at least some portion of them, to vote for Mike Rogers, and if so, do you think that that could actually upset this race? I think Rogers is going to win. And I think if you are a Jewish American living in Michigan, or if you are a patriotic American, and you vote for Sayed, you need to have your head examined. I spent a lot of time in Michigan politics. I used to be the chief counsel for the guy who was the dean of the Michigan delegation. He was the senior most and longest serving African American member of Congress that ever served in Michigan. And I can tell you from spending a lot of time in Michigan politics that it is not just Jews that I think are going to abandon the party. I suspect you are going to see what has traditionally been a 70-30 split on behalf of Democrats. I think you are going to see those numbers reverse. I think you are going to be 70-30 on behalf of Republicans, but I also think you are going to see a siphoning towards the GOP of centrist sort of patriotic voters who may have leaned left in the past. And I know his support inside the Black community is very, very weak. That's why you had to have James Glyburn come in today, Angela also Brooks and others. His support inside the Black community is very, very weak. And that's because I think the Democrats have failed to recognize as they go very far left on these cultural issues and sort of this red-green alliance. That Black voters for the most part in Michigan and around the country tend to be very moderate. They tend to be very moderate on cultural issues, and they also tend to be very entrepreneurial minded. They are not down with this sort of, you know, this sort of socialism that's, let's spend 70% of GDP on government programs the way France is going. I don't think so yet when I think Rodgers will win. I'm not only urging people, Democrats to vote for him, I'm raising money for him. I maxed out for Rodgers. And I think it's one of the most important races in the country. I think the most important thing you can see with this kind of radicalism, anti-Americanism, anti-Semitism is a direct repudiation. And if the Republicans hold on to the Senate as a result of that, I think that will be a good thing. You an absolutely crucial seat, like you said, for Democrats to keep, if they want to gain control of the Senate. A voters will decide it tomorrow. Julian, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you so much for having me. Truth is under attack in our culture. People are embracing lies about gender. They're rejecting the sanctity of every human life. And the government is even punishing people for saying what is true and right. But the biblical principles on which our country was founded still matter and they must be defended. A sharp sell-off in tech stocks and a record cryptocurrency theft is spooking investors leading to the NASDAQ's sharpest decline in months. Meanwhile on the eve of the election, a new poll finds Americans are increasingly unhappy with their personal finances. Daily Wire Culture Reporter Megan Basham joins us now with the latest. So Megan, let's start with Wall Street. What triggered those losses? Yeah, George, so a lot of this comes back to the enormous bet that technology companies have made on AI, and there's a lot of questions now about whether or not they're going to pay off. So just to kind of review the parade of Horrible. from the last week, the NASDAQ fell nearly 3% on Friday, which was its worst day since early June. The S&P 500 dropped nearly 2%, and the Dow lost more than 570 points. Now, what's driving all of this is disappointing earning reports from some of those big tech companies like Amazon, Intel, Google, and that's being driven by the massive AI race and just how much it's going to cost all of these companies to build out that AI infrastructure. Basically, investors are questioning whether the profits from AI are going to justify the money that's being currently poured into it, and some investors who have some long memories here are remembering the.com crash of 2000 when all of these investors kind of experienced a bit of a gold rush running into those companies, and then the hangover that they had after the fact when everybody realized that these companies were actually overvalued. So, Chris Vermilin, who is the chief market strategist for the technical traders, told tech journalist David Lynn that there's really just a little bit of a panic happening right now. We're just seeing a lot of fear in the market. Investors are, they don't know what to do. They're selling today, and they're running for safety, and we're just in an emotional time. I mean, you can, you feel like you can cut the air with a, with a butter knife today with the emotions surging through it, the fear because we've got, we've got broad selling. So, essentially, just fears that the tech sector is unstable. Yeah, and that brings us to this crypto-hized, like we said, the biggest one in history, how large was it and who was behind it? Yeah, John, just an absolutely crazy story with this record that hackers stole roughly $6.3 billion with a B dollars in digital assets from Binance, which is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. Binance says that all of this started on Thursday when hackers managed to compromise an engineer's computer, and within 20 minutes, all of that money was gone. And what's even more disturbing is that the FBI is pointing the finger at North Korea. And in fact, President Trump was asked about all of this at his Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday, and this is what he said. We're learning about it. I'm not concerned. We don't know if it's not correct, but if it isn't, we'll talk to it. We're not talking about it. Binance's CEO, meanwhile, said that the exchange is going to cover these losses, but given that analysts are saying that AI could have played a role in this massive theft and the speed and scale with which it was carried off, this kind of security breach is exactly the kind of thing that is causing some panic around AI generally. Right. Now, are there any bright signs on the financial horizon for people, Megan? Oh, I mean, sure. It's important to remember here, Georgia, that even with last week's bad news, the Nasdaq hasn't been falling all year. And in fact, it hit a record high earlier in October, and the New York Stock Exchange, which relies much more heavily on traditional industries less on tech, still managed to eke out a positive return last week on the whole. But that doesn't mean that Americans are experiencing some of this more moderated financial news. In fact, NBC's latest national poll found that just over half of registered voters say that they're not happy with their financial situation. And that's the first time that dissatisfaction has outweighed a satisfaction in the 30 years that NBC has been asking this question. So, you know, these recent negative financial stories, I think, are just one more piece of the puzzle that tell us why so many political prognosticators are saying that along with the poll, they're expecting Republicans to have a pretty rough night on Tuesday. Well, you never know until the votes are tallied. And by the way, people can tune in to daily wire.com to track the election results with us. Megan, thanks for reporting. Absolutely. My pleasure. Violent riots erupted on Halloween in several European countries, including Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. Meanwhile, in Poland, the constitutional crisis is unfolding in a dramatic fashion. Joining us now to discuss all this is Victoria Coats National Security expert at the Heritage Foundation. So a lot to get to here. But let's start with the so-called Halloween riots that swept through Europe, Germany now being hit. What did we see over the weekend? What we're seeing is this broader network, John, of these very far left organizations starting to make their presence known across the continent. And so this was not something isolated to France regarding education issues. This is a much broader, broader situation. And they really are going after the basis of Western civilization. They want to fundamentally change all of these countries. And it's the result of unfettered migration over the course of the last 20, 25 years. This is not a new problem. It's something that the EU has largely permitted to happen. And it's only going to get worse. I think we have another scheduled pan-European day of protest on November 20th. So that will happen. And we're just going to see these things become more destructive and more violent. Now we have seen some action to kind of reign in some of these protests. For example, France announced they were going to revoke residence permits for foreign nationals who were arrested for rioting in Italy. George Maloney has rolled out the anti-riot doctrine. Are we seeing Europe starting to crack down on this? Well, Prime Minister Maloney, I think, has been quite heroic in this effort. And what she's done is it said that we are not only going to hold the protesters responsible, their families are going to be financially on the hook for the destruction they cause. And so I think the Italians are not going to stand for their cultural patrimony being attacked by these people. You know, they were up on that pizza tower recently. They didn't incredibly fragile monument. The Colosseum also fragile. I mean, these things can be destroyed. That is a massive loss for Italy. They're not going to stand for it. Hopefully France is growing a backbone in this sort of thing as well. They were awfully passive to begin with. But I think they've seen what's happening to them tourism wise. So very, very important that these governments stand up. We'll see if France ends up following through on their threats. Now, we also have this almost, you know, surreal situation in Poland, some are describing what took place over the weekend as a coup d'etat. For our listeners who have not been following this, what exactly is going on there? This should be a headline story. I think with the US midterms, you know, a lot of things are hitting the cutting room floor. But this is going to come back. And what it is has been going on since about 2015 in Poland with the sort of center left represented by Prime Minister now, Donald Tusk, trying very hard to force Poland into a more what you might call globalist European EU mindset. And Poland's been very selective about their membership in the EU. They've kept their currency, the Zooloteate, for example. They haven't been on the euro. And Brussels is trying to force them to go on the euro because they're well run country. They're fiscally sound. They want that in the EU. And so what you've seen is Donald Tusk trying to force some very liberal judges onto their constitutional tribunal so that they can start to make those constitutional changes. They can't go on the euro without that constitutional change. And President Noroski has come back to the country. He they chose to do this while he was on foreign travel. He's back now protesting against it. And unfortunately, he doesn't have any of the security forces behind him. He has to provide his own security. He doesn't have any way to impose his will. All he has is persuasion. And that's what he's using. And you know, Donald Tusk tried to block him from coming back into Warsaw. And the military refused Donald Tusk's in instructions. So fascinating to see what happens in Poland going forward. They don't want what's happening in France and Italy to happen in their country. We'll see if they succeed. Now related to all this, we have the midterm, you know, looming 24 hours away. President Trump has been drawing a connection to what's happening in Europe to what could happen here in the U.S. Is that, you know, overblown or does that kind of warning have merit? No, it's absolutely legitimate. And so, you know, when the Democrats talk about packing the Supreme Court so that they can do whatever they want, they want to do what's happening attempt to be happening in Poland. When you have, you know, pro-Hamas, pro-Palestinian candidates like in Michigan, for example, that's what they are trying to impose on us. They want to open up those borders again. They want to make sure that we have unfettered immigration. So we'll have scenes like we're seeing on Paris in the streets of America. So it's a very clear question to, you know, to voters on Tuesday. Look at what's happening in Europe. Do you want it to happen here? As we said, dramatic things happening overseas. We always appreciate you keeping us up to speed. Victoria, thank you so much for coming on. Thank you guys. Thanks for waking up with us.
