E&S Wolves podcast: Episode 416 - Who's going out and who's coming in?

We're going all modern podcasts, we're going all YouTube, so I'm the camera's going to be on me all the time so I've got to pretend I'm listening to what you're saying for the whole episode this week. But I won't wait for me. We're lucky, we're lucky to run spanking you all the time. I've got to pretend like I care what you're asking me as well. Yeah, I mean it's pretty fancy isn't it. It's looking nice in there, speaking span, but yeah, except for the top people know we're going to be on YouTube as well, going forward. Still the normal podcast platforms if you will as well, so all the normal ones as well. But yeah, that's a slight different way to watch us which will be exciting going forward. But yeah, I'm all good mate, I'm all good. I mean, I'll be busy. I'll be honest, I'm super busy. You know when, I mean, I can say you know, because you're not there yet, but you you will have been my pain pretty soon when it comes to wedding planning, but we're right in the thick of it now. So I think we got into the new year, and you know, you caught the back of Christmas in the new year, and you're not really thinking about, you know, you have a bit of a break of whatever it is that you do, and that of you for us that was that was planning. And we came up the back of that and we realized that 18th of January, which of course is a three days away, that will be exactly five months to the day that we've got the wedding, and we realized it was only five months away. We wanted to crack on it. So, so yeah, you had an interesting meeting with the priest the other day. I mean, I would never blast fear more going to any details on a on a public platform. It was interesting, so the least. And we're now just partying with it all on money and trying to get things out. So we get in there. We're getting ourselves organised, but there's a lot to do. You're going to feel this pain pretty soon mate. Oh mate, I'm feeling already already been to look at a wedding venue, looking at two more this weekend. Did he give you that first? Then I'm looking at the cost. Then I'm looking at, we want more guests than that. Why are you charging me £25 to open a bottle of wine? I'll pour it myself and open it myself. If you want, I'll just go straight from the altar and do it. So yeah, we're, yeah, we're banging a thick of it. Mrs is loving it at the moment. I'm a bit like, oh yeah, that's great. Oh, yeah, that looks a bit pricey. Oh, well, we'll see when we go and see the venue. So, yeah, hopefully, hopefully booking it soon, potentially booking it for this year. So it might be engaged in marriage in the same year. I mean, that's a quick turn around all the way, I'll be impressed with you. But be a busy one. The only reason I've, the only reason that interest me is that when they say you see these advertisements, they go, yeah, if you, if you book it this year and you have it this year, we can give you 30% off. And as soon as I see that, I'm like, oh, that sounds a bit tasty, that's how you do that. I don't remember. And it's a bit of volume. I don't know. I don't have a marriage to you. You must not get out of your, you're a bit more partial of your neck in the woods than doing it. I mean, obviously, yes, you know, starting to splash the cast a little bit and trying to get things organized. I saw, I just do in scrolling on my phone the other day. And I came across a, I think it was Instagram reel. And it said about remembering to include your cell phone in, in terms of the amount of guests. I realized that we haven't done that. That's going to be another hundred and thirty quid per person. If you think they give it in for free, wouldn't they? Do you know what I mean? Well, we've got a meeting next week going to the venue. And so I want to ask someone to say, do we need to include ourselves on this number? Because if we don't, that's another two people we've forgotten to wear. And that's another two in sixty quid though. I need to part with it at some point. So I've only literally only yesterday realized that. So yeah, it's going to be enjoyable. Bank balance is taking a massive. We don't go there. Anyway, let's talk about some rather than declining bank balances. Let's talk about something a little bit more positive. Things are again, looking rosy on the wall front at the moment. A progression in the FA Cup. A counter against Shrewsbury at Mollonu on Saturday. We'll reflect on that a little bit more. But the main topic of conversation at the moment is, of course, the January transfer window. We are kind of banging the middle of the month here just over a month to go until the window slams shut. And the speculation is mounting. We've seen a Walls player. As soon to the part, there's links to other players. Talk about income ins as well as Walls trying kind of salvage a bit of pride from the second half of the season and continue this very good run. We will answer some of your questions. There's one that I'm not I'm not a massive fan of to be honest. It's talking about my physique. So do listen onto it to that one. You already already you bit about that. I didn't have a look to be fair. I read it. I thought it comes up with a question like why someone come up with a question like I do have a little chocolate to be fair. So we'll discuss that later. And I'll also look ahead to the classic. It's Newcastle on the weekend on Sunday to see if Walls can keep their unbeaten run going. But keynote. People got goals. Bit of excitement. Another victory. All kind of positives to come out of that. That FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury on Saturday. I think it was very very unlikely we're going to see an upset. And Walls delivered and they needed it. Yeah, definitely. Let's obviously take the positives out of it. But I'll start with the brief negative, which is that Walls sort of get away silly silly penalty. Although actually I didn't speak to you about this at the time because we didn't see it at the time. But I saw replays afterwards that it looked like it might just be at the top of the box actually. Or be it it's a very very tough one for the official. So I'm not going to criticize them really. It's really, really tight, really close. But it might just be that outside. But it's a clumsy tackle from Arias in the lead up to that as well. Cran gives away really silly pass to allow Shrewsbury to attack. And I'll just want to pick out those two plays very very quickly because I want to turn that negative into a little bit of a positive in the. Arias I thought played very well throughout the whole game. Of course scored assisted. I thought I had an overall positive impact on the on the fixture from that sort of deeper position again or a little bit of a hybrid position way sort of jumped into the front three at times. But certainly a little bit deeper as well in that area as an A to A has been impacted the team recently. And then Quang look, Quang gets absolute pelters on social media. He gets pelters from all angles when I you know I put some out about his horrendous past that leads to the penalty. And obviously he deserves criticism for it because it's a really bad incident and he needs to do better. But it's overall performance has actually been pretty good recently to be perfectly honest. And I thought he did pretty well again against Shrewsbury sort of a willing run of running the channels nicely. But he's basically a second strike. But that for me is probably his best position. And it's sort of working at the moment. So I think a few people criticize him just because they don't like him. But you know you've got to look at it objectively. He makes one mistake which is a bad one. Don't get me wrong. But he actually overall plays pretty well. And I think that deserves a mention. But what I was sort of pleased with overall really, I saw it in that small moment when Wolves obviously gave Shrewsbury a little bit of a look in for a brief moment. Obviously the terrible mistake for me like Harrison and Goldfish Shrewsbury allows last score. Wolves is third. And obviously getting to half time at three points is really important. But overall apart from that small moment Wolves were never really in any danger. They were never really in any trouble. And of course they shouldn't be, shouldn't they? Because they're playing league two opposition, league two opposition that are struggling towards the bottom end of their division as well. But Wolves also had to, I suppose, flex their Premier League muscles as the way that I phrased it. They went for the jugular a little bit. And I was really pleased to see that. I'm pleased for a lot of the individuals as well that they've got those goals. Yeah, there was a lot of positive to come out of it, wasn't there? You know, none more so then for someone like Yorgan Standlast and walked away with a hat trick, you know, like we said, albeit against the opposition that it was against. But, you know, Rob Edwards has asked about it a lot after. He's kind of gone from kind of villain to flavor of the month, really, as performances have picked up. You know, the cynic in you could say it's the January Chancel, and he's being linked with clubs left, right and centre. But, you know, a real boost for him that if a deal doesn't come off in January, Wolves maybe decide to sell one of their other stars and keep shining us until the summit. You know, he's got a little bit of kind of credit back in the bank with his supporters because it turned a bit ugly than there a few weeks ago. It did, yeah. And no one's really, I suppose, necessarily at fault or even on the other side, you can say necessarily blame. Look either. I think it's sort of six or one half dozen of the other with this because Larson was playing poorly. He was playing badly. So he deserves to be caught out on that. Of course he does. At the same time, I forget exactly which victory was at home, but he turns around and he gives a little bit of a reaction to those fans a little bit of a bite. He doesn't go too far because it could have got ugly, but he just give a little bit of a bite to the fans that were sarcastically cheering him when he was substituted. As soon as you do that, you're going to hope yourself for people to continue to criticise your continue to sort of go do a little bit. From the fans perspective, I totally understand their frustrations, of course, because look at where Wolves are. He was playing poorly. Absolutely agree with that. And it also has it helped him really that Tollie has come in and actually played relatively well because I still think Larson's a bad player. I still think Larson is your number one striker without a doubt. But Tollie has come in and played relatively well, aside from missing a few sitters really. He's missed a few big chances, particularly from from headers, but overall that hasn't really helped him. And I do think he's been slightly harshly treated because he's a really good character, someone that's really liked around the place, someone that genuinely does want to do well for Wolves. Of course, he's not, you know, the likelihood is he's not going to be here for much longer, either in January or the summer, but he has someone that has a sort of affinity for the club and wants to do well for the club despite not being here that long. And I feel that it wasn't for a lack of trying. He was running himself into the ground, to be honest, and things were just not coming off for him. But he comes back into the team. It's an opportunity to perform obviously, but it's also slightly a dangerous opportunity because if you go in against lead to opposition, don't play well. I mean, continuing the run he'd been on. I mean, he'd been a really sticky position right now, but he does exactly what he should do. He goes in and he scores a hat trick, and plays really well around the goal as well. It's not just the finishes. It's the whole of play. It's the running the channels. It's the link of play. It's all of that stuff combined. He was, he was really dangerous and really effective throughout the game for Wolves. And I'm pleased for that, really, because as I say a second ago, the reality is he's not going to be a Wolves player beyond this season. There's still a really good chance he could go in January. Wolves are obviously holding out for for decent money at the moment, and they're not really engaging with clubs that have inquired because we know Forrest are one, but they're looking at the strikers as well. We know West Ham were one, but they've sort of moved in a different direction at the moment and cyclical other players. Villa would have been one that hasn't been mentioned recently. What would have been one I would have mentioned if they didn't have Pierre Sarkasson's and they're trying to get Tammy Abraham as well at the moment. But I think it's worth mentioning because they're in the market for striker. One surprise, maybe they maybe have a nibble at some point if you know, an Abraham deal doesn't come off, but there are clubs there that want to sign Yovanshan Larsen. And there's a concerted effort behind the scenes now to try and get him a move in January. That is, it's moving in that direction. People are trying to get that move to happen. But if Wolves stand firm and don't engage with clubs, then he's not going to, he's not going to go anywhere, but he will go somewhere in the summer for probably slightly less money than he would get in January. But either way, he's not going to be a Wolves player for very long. It would be a huge surprise to see him stay beyond this season. And for that reason, you hope that he can end it as as best he can on as big a high as he possibly can. Wolves considering that, you know, they're probably going to get relegated. And this hat trick was a good step in that direction, I think. Well, we'll come on to Stan Larsen and some of the trunks we're talking in a few moments time, but just one more kind of positive to finish off on the FA Cup. You know, it kind of went for the juggling at the end, you know, it was 4-1, you know, for shoes to be that's kind of they were accepted that really. And, you know, Wolves had it. 6-1, right? Yeah, well, 4-1, going into the last few minutes, wasn't it, and then he ran into Wolves later on. Come on, Keener, come on, Keener, let me finish. I know, yeah, I missed him. I was like, so I had already chatted with Wolves, man. Obviously, Ram did those two, like, Wolves, and made it a really emphatic kind of battering, didn't it? But, you know, another positive to come from it, 4 different goal scorers, impact from the bench as well. And yes, it's getting shoes to be, but a confidence booster really for those players. And, you know, positive that there's 4 different goal scorers. Yeah, without a doubt, what Robert would sort of want from this team, and he said this when he came in, is he does want to try, and this would be a long-term project, of course, but turn Wolves into, you know, a team that is enjoying what to watch, sort of expansive and can do all the right things in that final third. What he did do when he first arrived is what he had to do, is he made Wolves slightly better defensively, but obviously, results didn't get anywhere near what they needed to be. And that's really sort of killed off Wolves' chances of staying in the Premier League this season. However, we started to see a couple of those green shoots out from going forward in that sort of attacking nature that he wants to see in this team. And, you know, they stumbled across a system that sort of worked with the two number eights, and I'm obviously playing Marnie and Ari has a little bit deeper, so maybe that was more look rather than judgment, perhaps, and obviously worth, you know, placing out injured and suspended. They sort of stumbled across that, but it's worked. And I think what you saw against through is we all be it, it is through the town. However, you've still got to go and do it. Look, you see, you know, Crystal Palace going loser, Makasfield. Yeah, things can happen. You've still got to go perform. What we saw was the team and the sort of that were coming on, all desperate to make an impact and desperate to continue attacking, which, Wolves' hands, I've not had a lot to cheer about, away from home or at home, but particularly at Molenview. And I think for to give them to give them that, and to sort of, I suppose, hold the personal pride of trying to go for the jugular. I think it's a really good sign. And then on a few of the individuals, Marnie comes on and I think played quite well actually. I think it was the right decision to arrest him, but he comes on and plays quite well. Beautiful sort of laces outside of the foot pass through to Molenview. He puts on a plate for Alucadare for the, for the sixth goal. Wolves actually played fairly well within the team as well, but looking sort of purely at the substitutes, because I mentioned Quang, I mentioned Arias and I think those guys deserve to mention. But those substitutes, Tolier comes on, makes himself a handful. Fair Lopez, by the way, comes on, makes himself a little bit of a handful, does fairly well. I'm lucky not to score. I want to hit the post. Again, I play that's probably going online, we're expecting, but still a, yeah, a good moment for him, I think, in a game that he should make an impact in. The one player I've all of them that I want to talk about, which I mentioned in previous podcasts, I've written about recently, is Rodrigo Gomez, you know, I'm a massive fan of Rodrigo Gomez, I really am. I think as a character, he's incredibly likeable, incredibly popular amongst a group, really hardworking, got his heart in the right place. I tweeted, I didn't interview him after the game, I tweeted this way, put the first story out, that he's the kind of, he's one of the good guys in football, he's the kind of person that you want to do well. And then when he does do well, it sort of makes it even sweeter, isn't it, for everyone involved. He's a, he's a player, the fans really like, he's a player that will sort of wear his harness, sleep and go out there and put everything out there to try and perform for himself, but also for the football club. And I think that is really important, but I mean, I was slightly surprised that Pedro Lima didn't start the game. I thought he was obvious that you do Pedro Lima for 60 minutes, and then bring Rodrigo Gomez on, got no idea where Jackson's actual had to play that game. And if I'm honest, for me, going forward, Jackson's actual was the time in the starting 11 is limited, because once Rodrigo Gomez can get himself available to the point of being fit to start a game, and fit to start consistently, he should start 90% of the games between now and the end of the season. I think he's actually okay defensively considering that's not his natural position. I think he's got some decent defensive instincts, but going forward is very good. And I'd really like to see him score that goal, because he gets himself into a really good area. Torres was really well actually to sort of recover the ball after fellow, they hit the post and it's an easy tap in him in the end, but he's a player that I think, you know, you definitely need to keep an eye on and watch. He's a player by the way, which is slightly jumping ahead, because we can talk about next season, and January, with questions and other stuff coming up, but just very briefly to finish this point, he's a player that if walls can keep him for next season would be a player that I would. I wouldn't go as far as saying build the team around, but I would have him as a really key member of that 11, going forward in the championship if he can keep him. I'd say if he can keep him, because I know for a fact that our club's looking at him already as well. So watch this space, but he's a player that I'm a big fan of. Just finally the FA Cup. I'm sure walls fans would have been open for a short trip than the one that they've been, but it's grims me away. I've had a little bit of a flag for calling this a tricky tie in a piece I did the other day. I mean, yeah, they're in lead two, but it's an easy one, you know, on the road, way at a lead two club, you know. And they've beaten Manianites in the caravans at home this season, and you won't mean it. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about sometimes. I don't know that's fair enough. Don't give me wrong. I don't know for a second suggest. Well, yeah, I don't know for a second suggest that wall should be going there and struggling or losing the game. Well, should we win that game? But it's not going to be easy. I don't know. I don't think walls are going to go there and beat him six one. That's going to be a difficult one. It's going to be one of the TV cameras are going to be on as well, isn't it? They're going to be looking for it, you know, an upset. I would like to think so. Yeah. I think it probably deserves that. I think it deserves that sort of attention. I mean, I'm looking forward to the fish and chips more than anything. I've seen a lot of clamor about this for my, I'll make, my mate, Judah. I've been to, I've been to Greenfield once when I was a Warsaw report of quite a while ago. And I'm probably about five years ago now. I went to Greenfield once, didn't have any of the food when I was there. Just went to the game, but out again, it wasn't the best of a of experiences. I'd be honest in terms of what we're also absolutely dreadful at the time. I think they, I think they lost one, they'll, I think, or maybe true one, once we're not about it, it was a terrible game against two teams at the bottom of the lead two at the time when I was covering them. So this time, looking forward to actually trying to enjoy it a little bit. Well, don't be wrong. I would have preferred a not a long trip like that. I would have made the most out of it because they've got fish and chips. And as a lot of all fans are pointing out, there was some history with this fixture. Obviously, Bully scoring against them. Yeah. So yeah, there's a, there's a, there's some good history to it. It is a proper tie as well, which I quite like. And I think it's got the, it's got the potential to be caught and exciting one. So, and that's how the walls get through, but it could be quite entertaining one. Could be indeed. Right, let's talk about the transfer window because that is the topic on everyone's lips at the moment. We'll start with a departure. Wolves fans would have seen this morning. Dealer's been agreed for Marshall Mnetsi to leave the club on loan headed to France. Keynote, kind of not surprised by that one hasn't really been involved. Has he? Is this one just to move it on a little bit? Is this a transfer where Mnetsi goes away, gets games, comes back potentially a part of the championship side that Wolves will probably be coming to start next season? It's certainly not impossible because there's only so many players that can go. You can't lose every single player in your, in your senior self and rebuild the whole thing. There's only certain amount of players that can go. And I said this on a previous podcast that it's just for, you know, for these players agents, it's essentially going to be a race of who can get their player out of the club quickest. And fortunately, some of them won't be able to do it as quick as others. So, I say unfortunately, fortunately for Wolves or for the player, however you judge the player depends on, I know a lot of Wolves fans don't, you know, don't rate Marshall Mnetsi, so perhaps they'll say, "important equals." So I wouldn't say it's impossible, but the long-term vision here, if all goes well, is that he goes there, he plays well, he gets a little bit of attention and he gets a permanent move somewhere. That is the long-term vision for it. But, you know, things happen in football. If he goes there, doesn't play well, or gets an injury, or whatever, he comes back to Wolves, you know, obviously he's still under a long contract, so he can easily go back on loan again from Wolves potentially. So I would say it's unlikely that he plays for us in the championship next season, but I certainly don't think it's impossible. I think it, it depends on the market that's there, and talk of the market that's there, and I think that's a really good point that, you know, a lot of fans have criticised Wolves are not having an obligation to buy in there. First of all, you've got to look at the team that they're going to, 15 in the French top tier, Paris FC. You know, I don't expect there would be splashing out 10 to 15 million on him, first of all, because obviously we'll sign it for about 15 million. Secondly, and I spoke to a few sources of that, and people about this, and I agree with them, and that's why I'm saying this, there isn't a market for him at the moment, and I totally agree with that point, there isn't a market for him. He hasn't played since the 3rd of December, hasn't played particularly well. Obviously, I know he's got a calf injury as well, but hasn't played particularly well for a little while, didn't really suit the Premier League, didn't have physicality and running and all that kind of stuff, he'd suit the Premier League, but he didn't have the technical ability for it. There isn't a market for Wolves to go and get 10 plus million for his player at the moment. So he's under contract still, he's sending him on loan, hope that he gets himself in the shop window, but while you're doing that, you get a small loan fee, and you get a salary covered for the rest of the season, and at the same time, you open up a gap and a space in Wolves' Registrar Premier League squad, because that is probably the main positive like this, because it opens up that gap. Exactly, because you can have a maximum of 17 seniors, this is over 21, 17, 21 years old, sorry, 17 senior non-hormone players and Wolves have 17, so they have any space for any non-hormone players, but now they'll have one space with minutes going out, which again is another positive. So I think for everyone really, it's actually a good move, it really is, don't be wrong, would we all prefer an obligation and he probably moves on? Yeah, of course, everyone would prefer that, because he clearly has worked in the Premier League, but the reality was, I mean, they're just, and if they did get that, I'd be praising them to hide everything and have a healthy demand to get that obligation, because they're just, he's not that market for him right now, but there could be, if he goes on performs, and does okay, goes on alone, or you get him on alone with an option next time out, or however it is, he's under contract for a fair bit, and Wolves don't have to necessarily rush to sell him, as long as they're not losing him, losing financially by keeping hold on to him. So, yeah, it's a move that makes a lot of sense. Rob clearly wasn't really having him, he's been out for, with his injury for a little while, although he did do an interview with the Zimbabwean outlet, suggesting that he's been fit for a couple of weeks now, which is not what's in the zone. So there's potentially something going on there as well, and that's just me speculating really, but I think it's just worth mentioning. So overall, I think it's, it makes a lot of sense, and the final point really to make with Minetsie, and again, I spoke to people about this and agree, and I think I have to say it, is that, you know, he's been here less than a year, so I'm on Deadline Day, beginning of February, last year, and it hasn't, it hasn't worked, he's just not the technical ability for the Premier League, there's a lot of things about it and I did like, but it just didn't really work at Wolves, and it just showed really how shambolic Wolves' recruitment has been in 2025, you know, all the way through the year, by one or two players, I mean, everybody's probably your one that you would say, when they signed him in, because he was really good when, when he first came in, otherwise, I mean, the recruitment's been. Well, the recruitment, the recruitment probably, you know, you can go back longer than two windows, but the recruitment in the last two windows is arguably why, why Wolves are where they are at the moment. Yeah, as much a criticism of the upper error and some of the things that he did, you know, in the criticism of others, the recruitment in the in a small context in the last two windows has been, you know, like you say, barren agbadoon that probably not have the anyone else is the reason why they're rooted to the thought of the table. Yeah, no, 100%. I mean, look at some of that NASA's eager. NASA's eager came in, that 10 million pounds played a couple of times. It wasn't fancy to talk about the talk error, went out on loan in the soil. You've got to know what's going to happen with him, and it's all like that when they come back. I mean, is he good enough to the championship, is he going to get somewhere? So, I mean, I know that he's still sort of trying to learn English, trying to get the grips with that kind of stuff, so things are off the picture, you know, he's still got a way to go. I'm sure he would have improved by now, but this is talking in the summer when he went out on loan. So, yeah, I mean, the recruitment from top to bottom was shambolic, really. And again, I think Manetzey, him coming in, going just less than a year later, sort of epitomised that, doesn't it? Highlights exactly where they went wrong. Certainly does. Right, let's move on to some other big names because we've got a lot to talk about between now and the end of the podcast. The most noise I would say this week, if you're looking at kind of transfer columns this time, the other is around Joe Gomez. It was always going to be the case, him and a handful of others that we'll talk about are obviously the ones that hold the most value for Wolves, and have been performing probably better than most in recent months. He was linked earlier this week with a move to Napoli, Athletica Madrid, I've also now reportedly come into the frame. Keena, what can you kind of tell us on that one, there was some reports around Napoli and a potential deal in the summer? What's kind of your take on it and what do you know at the moment that you can tell Wolves fans? Yeah, Charles Gomez is another player that whether he goes in January or goes in the summer will not be a Wolves player next season for pretty obvious reasons really. And what I can say is that you never know where it comes to following the ports and things like that. You never know exactly what's true, what's not, and I always were only told about things that I can verify, I know for a fact that true, and I can verify 100% accurately that both Napoli and Athletica Madrid have made contact with Charles Gomez as representatives. As far as I'm led to believe, as of right now recording, there's been no contact with Wolves from any other club or agents about him, which I think is worth mentioning. And Wolves will be demanding, we're expecting 40 plus million pounds from, if he wants to go in January, 40 to 45 I think would be that region, you're probably going to get about 10 million cheaper in the summer potentially, depending on interest. But yeah, those two clubs 100% that make contacts with representatives of how talks and are looking at a potential route into getting them out of the club in January. What I can say, which I don't think is out there anywhere, is if my understanding that Charles Gomez as a player is really keen to stay in the Premier League, there will be Premier League interest in him. And I think that's really worth noting, because whether those clubs will match the fees that are available or whatever the deals that can be done with these other clubs that potentially are in frame, whether that's this month or whether that's in the summer, but as a player, he wants to stay in the Premier League, and he wants to get him into a Premier League club ideally going forward. However, if the clubs put the money up, he could end up at Athletica Madrid, for example. On Athletica Madrid as well, I think it's worth people being aware that George Mendez has a really strong relationship with Athletica Madrid. He broke the deal for coming up to come to walls through Athletica Madrid previously. And it's my understanding that he's sort of pushing Charles Gomez in that direction to sign Athletica Madrid, that he is pushing him in the direction of making that move. But as I reiterate, the player is really keen to stay around in the Premier League. One thing I want to mention as well, and I think this is only fair to try and get all points across, is that Charles Gomez is a player that genuinely loves it at walls. He had that whole free Charles Gomez movement when he came from Brazil. He felt really wanted and needed here. He's turned into a fantastic player here. And he genuinely just looked at the club, of course, for his career, he's not going to play in a championship, so he's going to have to move on. And I think most fans will understand that. And he doesn't want to force a move. And what I can say is that he isn't forcing it. The player is not demanding, that he goes this month, he's not refusing to train or anything like that. And I hope he doesn't do that. And I don't think he will. So he's forcing it. But what's also playing on his mind, that his people's mind is that he needs to get himself back in the Brazil squad. There's a World Cup coming up. He's good enough, in my opinion, to definitely be in the squad as bare minimum. And he's been left out of a few squads recently. And I think he's going to struggle if he's, you know, being relegated and forced to get himself into that into that Brazil team. So that's coming into their thinking as well. So lots of different moving parts here. As I said, with Larsen as well, at the moment, first of all, they've not been contacted by close, but secondly, they're not really engaging with clubs in terms of potentially selling players. So that's got to happen really for a player to go. The money's got to be put up. The clubs are going to pay the right money to get a club out to get a player out of the walls as well. And then it's got to be the right club for the player. So lots of different moving parts. But if you were to ask me between Larsen, Andre's, I'd go and say, well, you're sort of big three really. I would expect probably one of them to go at least and potentially more. But yeah, depending on incomes as well, which of course has been being pretty quiet. Yeah, we've already spoken about Stranglers, but let's just route through some other names. It's been a lot of speculation around Emmanuel Agbedo as well, the potential move to the ship DAS. I know you did a piece early this week, you know, on kind of walls, his stance, they're kind of not open to it, but maybe be open to it at the right price. Is there any developments in that one or is that moved on any more as it's done the same situation? Yeah, he's a player that's definitely got potential to go in this window, but it would have to be the right deal. So the ship DAS, it was a little while ago, actually, they had an offer rejected. It was, this is in euros. It was about two million loan fee, ten million option. So in pounds, it's roughly sort of one and a half, five to eight and a half fishing pounds as the sort of low fee in option. And that was obviously rejected very quickly. Wolves are not going to do a deal like that. If he's going to go, he will only go with a expectation of a permanent move and for the right money. So if he was to go online with an obligation, that's something Wolves would be open to. It was to go on a permanent, that's something Wolves would be open to. Again, it's got to be the right money. Wolves paid roughly 15 million pounds for him. He's done pretty well, but it's got to be again, something we're going to re-cube a decent amount of that money for him to go, I think, in January. So yeah, I want to watch, I think, because I think there's definitely a market for him. There's definitely a bit of interest for him, but it's whether any of these kind of clubs are going to pay the money really or, you know, commits to paying the money going forward with an obligation the Wolves would be happy with? That's it, isn't it? For as much speculation as well as, you know, if the clubs aren't stumbling up the money, these players aren't, you know, kind of going to be going to be moving it. If Wolves kind of, it less Wolves kind of move what they want. John Ariass is a player who has hit a bit of form at the moment and then kind of started to become linked with a move away. Let's talk about interest in Brazil. Kino watched the kind of latest on that one, because Ariass is like we said, coming to the side, coming to midfield and yeah, being impression and pulling up trees in recent two weeks, is a really, it's a fascinating one with Ariass because if you do, we spoke about this probably three weeks ago. Every Wolves fan most likely, probably us as well, would be saying, let him go, it's fine. And it's funny how things change because he's playing pretty well at the moment. Now I'm not suggesting by the way that if Wolves got offered that money back for him that you turn it down, you've probably accept it to be honest because is he going to play in the championship? I don't know. So yeah, of course you will do that, but it's, yeah, I think it's interesting because he's playing well. He's in the team at the moment. Do you make a move and let him go? I think it would heavily depend again on the, the offers that were being made. If Wolves were to get anywhere near them when he back, I think there's a good chance he goes, but yeah, I mean, there was talk of Almeras in Brazil that he was all done and dusted with them. Let's believe that is definitely one of the markets. It's not done and dusted, but they're definitely interesting. So I get another one that I'm going to keep a real Kino on because I think there's a there's certainly a chance he goes, but the fact that he's playing and playing well and Rob Edwards is seemingly happy with him at the moment probably reduces the chances of him going by at least a few percent. The other name that has, there's, there's not been a lot of noise in the cast couple of weeks, but Andre is obviously another one who holds value. Any information on that Kino and whether he could, you know, whether that's one that will wait till the summer or one that could happen in January, it's really interesting with Andre because again, you're totally right, he comes into that sort of big three for me in terms of the, you know, the three, you get the most money for the three that guaranteed to not be always players next season, whether it's in January or in the summer, they make a move, know that, you know, the eventors were interested in him in the summer, wolves wouldn't, you know, didn't even entertain it for a second, rightly so. The eventors have been sniffing around a little bit again recently, fairly recently, they've been sort of sniffing around without maybe sort of making too many leaps, but they've certainly showing interest and he's another player in a similar situation to Ciao Gomez where, you know, he's going to want to be in the Brazil squad. He's another player that for me is certainly good enough to be in that squad for the World Cup that has been out of it recently and that's going to be playing on his mind as well in terms of, in terms of getting a move elsewhere. Nothing hugely concrete as far as I'm aware of the moment within, but again, one that could easy develop. Again, Wolf can't nearly lose all these players in January. I would say particularly considering we're recording this on the 50th January as well, but yeah, I would expect at least probably one of these big ones to go, at least one, if the right money is offered. The right money is offered, you know, wolves weren't selling them, but if things start to heat up, which are a couple of them, they're starting to get in that move that direction, then I'll expect at least one to go. Let's touch on the on incomes before we move on to your your burning questions, Wolf's fans. Keanu, that's been kind of very quiet. There's been kind of loose links to certain players here and there, but, you know, a little bit of talk yesterday about kind of the loan market. Do you expect that to ramp up? Do you expect Wolf to do a little bit of business this summer, or is it this January even, or is it purely going to be the focus on kind of, you know, getting a bit of money for these, but getting good money for these players while I can. Just to mention very quickly, while we're recording this on the morning of Thursday, there is a little bit of breaking news in Turkey at the moment that the shit's asking about another offer that I could do. Obviously, I'm recording this at the moment, so I can't go and stand that up and check if that's accurate, but obviously I'm trying to bring, you know, ladies to express that, I called social media once I finished recording this, but yeah, just want to mention that, so that people don't think this is too out there, but it's on their listen to it, but yeah, they're having news. Breaking news, breaking news, breaking news. Yeah, so obviously I need to check that's true or not, so I just want to mention it, but with the caveat that I need to check it and back it up. Can you repeat your question for me? Sorry, I was too busy looking at that. Just in terms of, see, it doesn't listen to me. We just said this, of course. No, of course, not. Broadcasting me. In terms of income, it's been very quiet. We've had kind of loose links to certain players, you know, there's been Calvin Phillips, who's a name earlier in the window and and others, a little bit of talk this week about, you know, looking at loan deals, is, is anything going to happen, Keynote? You would imagine if, you know, if wolves do move one, two, three of these players on, you know, they're obviously going to have to bring in reinforcements. Yeah, certainly. I mean, before Monetsie moved on, that obviously they only had space for home-ren players. They had been looking in that area. How I feel it's just one that's been, you know, they definitely looked in in the summer. It was been, it's a name that's been mentioned, this January without any sort of concrete movement from wolves. Another name that has been mentioned and was looked at briefly earlier in the window as Adam Armstrong or San Anton, but I'm led to believe now that that's got a bit cold. So I wouldn't expect any movement at the time, you know, at this moment in time with someone like him. However, that's the, probably the sort of kind of player they were looking at. They have got a bit more space, obviously, now with Monetsie moving on, in terms of not having grown, so they could potentially move in a different direction, but it's all been very, very quiet because it's a really difficult window to do business in, not because it's January, although that is difficult in South. It's for wolves and their position. Because do you sign, you know, players that want to play in the Premier League, I'm not going to sign for wolves because they're going to go down. I think all the low market, we've talked about this before. I think there'll be players out there that are playing it, maybe Premier League clubs or playing it, you know, top-end championship clubs that yeah, all right, wolves are going to end up where they're probably going to end up next season, but they're still a Premier League club at the moment and there'll be plenty of players, you know, there'll be plenty of players interested in coming in, you know, four, six months of chance to, a chance for them to, you know, almost put themselves in the shot window and it's players that won't be playing games elsewhere. Someone like, I'm not saying him, for example, Phillips and people like that who will just want games and they will get them at wolf. Yeah, no, I think it's a really good point because you've also got to look at players that, you know, are doing well in the championship, are they going to want to be at top-end championship teams, not a Premier League teams because, you know, there could be top-end divisions by, you know, this time, actually, all in the summer rather. So, um, so yeah, I think it's a really difficult window to actually bring the right players in, but for me, you've got a target leadership, but obviously, midfield is a couple of other areas in terms of actual squad positions as well, but ideally, I think if you can, you want to have one or two permanent signers that are committed to being here next year and that can help get the right things in place in the next six months to go into next year and have the right atmosphere, the right culture and the right sort of ethos going into ideally challenging for promotion. So that would be an ideal situation, but I do think that's really difficult to do in terms of bringing the right players in as well. So yeah, it's been particularly quite at the moment. I think it's going to heat up obviously towards the back end of the window, but everyone wants everything now, don't they? And that's the, that's the problem. Yeah, it will heat up. It always does towards the end, a lot of moving parts and a busy few weeks for the, the powers that be at walls. Interesting question, I'd to decipher, isn't it, in order to predict, yeah, less than 50%. Oh, yeah, I think it is less, more aware to say that, isn't it? Yeah, I think so. I think there's a lot of sort of ancestral plays and good plays in there that will definitely move on. The replays that will want to be in the Premier League, that will move on as well. So yeah, I can't see any worlds in which it's over 50% certainly. I mean, it's obviously put a specific number, it's very difficult, but yeah, for me, the Walls going to lose it. A lot of plays, it's going to be a big rebuild. Understandably so, really. Like this one as well, it's come from Lucas, Moriatti, we've got your second name right there, Lucas. Which current player will surprise us and stay fight and get us back up to the Premier League? Good question, really good question. I think some of the new signings from the summer will probably stick around, not necessarily all, but some think someone like Tollou will probably be a player that's around and he'd be really interesting in the championship, whether he's got potential to, you know, it's got a lot of goals in Belgium, I know it's a different. I think he's got the attribute to probably be a decent player in the championship. That's what I was thinking. And you might have a big season, which could be potentially what Walls, exactly what Walls need to go forward. I mean, I'm not saying this will happen because, as I say, there are clubs interested in, but I have to double down and say what do we get going next for me would be a really key player. He really would if he, if he can keep him. But again, someone like Pedro Lima as well would be, would be really key going forward if he can keep all of them. So, there are, there are certainly options here, but there is a lot of players that are going to go. It's going to be, it's going to be a really busy summer, but it'll be fascinating exactly how the LAN lines. Next one's from Boxing Brusa, which we've referenced already. Sorry, I think I might have sort of answered this really with the last 12. Yeah, I think someone like a toller could be really interested in the next season. There was one player that I'm intentionally not mentioning because I know we've got a question about it, so I'll let you move on and I'll mention when we get there. There's our next question indeed and an interesting one. It's Crachy, it's Crachy signing commitment still in place if we are relegated. So yeah, he's one I wanted to mention. So, yeah, of course, I was paid £6 million loan fee, £20 million, official option for signing in, but as we reported, another report said it was becoming a sort of obligation based on number of appearances, which we understand were relatively low. So I have checked this out. It's a done deal. He will be a wolf player permanently next season. He has played enough games to trigger that. He will be a wolf player. So, and I'll put a story out with these details as well for people to be able to read as well. So yeah, he will be a wolf player next season. There is nothing in terms of relegation that means that that deal doesn't go through. He will 100% it's a done deal. He'll be a wolf player permanently for next year onwards. And he'll be interesting whether he's someone that plays in the championship or not. So yeah, he could start to his wolf career playing in sort of midfield and in defence. He's been more defence recently, obviously with injuries. I think there's even defence from what he gather as well. And he went a bit off the boil in these other couple of games recently, but he went off the boil for a stretch of games where he was struggling and not playing very well. And I think he's a decent player. Do I think he's good enough to get a big opponent move straight away from wolves? I'm not sure, particularly back to the Premier League. I'm not sure. I mean, obviously, I want to, smacks or someone who might go back to Europe maybe? Yeah, I think that would be more likely if I was to head my bets. He could easily go on low as well. He's under a long contract with wolves. He could easily go on low and wolves can still hold some value in that asset for later down the line. But potentially, he'd be a really good option for versatile player playing a couple of different positions. Could be a really good option for the championship if he's willing to stick around. So I think he either wants to keep an eye on the certain two more. Jay has said, I will's ever going to sign a player again. Yes, they will. They will. I mean, obviously, we can judge this window when it ends and exactly how wolves look by the end of it. But yeah, they will. I understand the frustration. I don't want it now, but the reality is, you know, wolves are going to go down and you've got to try and do it in the right way for the next year as well. Final one comes from the Eastbourne Wolf, who has said, have you found out anything about the apparent, apparent stadium development of the Steve Bullstamp that Jeff Shee was talking about? Or was that one of the reasons he was sacked for backing Fosan into a corner? No, I don't, I don't think that last bit's right. But so I have checked this out. I have asked the questions. I've been told that they don't expect anything soon. However, what Jeff spoke about in that interview with BBCWM is something that they're still talking about and still looking at different options and sort of ways of potentially doing it, and I'm not expecting anything imminently. This is a game where, again, wolves are going to go and try and create, try and replicate what they've done, and we know Edwards has referenced kind of difficult decisions that he's got coming up, which is, you know, maybe a good thing for him. Yeah, I mean, it's nice to have difficult decisions on who to play because players are playing well rather than not knowing who to pick because no one can kick a ball straight. So at least, you've got some positives to look at. Yeah, I love obviously Newcastle or a decent side. I know they lost tune in the end in midweek, so Man City and the camera cut, but I watched a bit of that game and they gave him a good go as well and they are a good manager, good players, had some injury issues as well, but they've got a good score. And I agree with you, it's a bit of a benchmark in terms of how bar Rob has been able to sort of bring wolves recently, you know, they get underly beats in here, then, you know, they're not quite as far as maybe some people think, if they give it a good go and maybe get a result, then, you know, perhaps we're going in the right direction, but yeah, it's one of those games and I'm kind of pleased that it's at home as well, because not only because I don't want to go to Newcastle, Joel, all the way up there as we have done this season already, but more because I follow it off a couple of decent results and a couple, you know, competing in four now, obviously winning the epic of the weekend, I think going into another home game and having a little bit of that optimism about it is a good thing and I think we'll need that at home. So I'm pleased about that, but what in terms of sort of difficult selection, there's a couple of different areas, what we've always sort of appreciated about Newcastle over the last few years is how strong they midfielders, obviously Gimayosh, Joel Linton's been back as well, Tonali came off the bench the other day, he went to Man City, he got other options in there as well, I would suspect that I'd probably be the three that'll play against Wolves, but again, they do have other options and that makes it really difficult in terms of what Rob Edwards does, because does he look at them, and I think I've got to try and pick my team based on what they've got, or do I go with what's been working, and what's been working has been Wolves' three midfield, but with two number eights, and what was working, I know they slightly changed it for Shrewsbury, but what has been working has been Mateus Mane and Arias playing as two number eights and only having one recognisement fielder, sort of one proper midfielder in there, but does he do that against Newcastle? I'm not sure, I'm not sure, I've got a feeling we might see Andre, Jalgurma's and Mateus Mane, we might see Arias drops, which might be a little bit harsh on him, but I feel like if you're going to play this Newcastle team, you can't only need to play Andre and Jalgurma's, that's a massive decision to make, and then the other one is upfront, I do honestly think I think Juan plays regardless, I think Juan will start, I think the fact that he's a slightly different striker, he's a bit of a second striker, I think has worked in this system, and he's actually been playing well, I know you can play tollywood last and together, but I don't think you will, I think you'll play Juan, so if you're basing that assumption, if you're going off that assumption, saying it's correct, he's got to pick one of either tollywood or last and tollywood's had the shirt recently, the Mr. Few City's was played relatively well, and then scored the last goal against Shrewsbury, last and hasn't been playing well, it's been on the fringes, just coming in and scored a hat trick, they're both going to be desperate to play, last and going to think, well I've just scored a hat trick, you've got to start me, tolly's going to think, well I didn't do anything wrong to lose my place, I've also scored as well against Shrewsbury, which might be even more the headache about they both scored in that game, what do you do? I've got a feeling you'll go tolly, but I'm honestly really unsure about it, I think it's a really tough one to call, so for those two things in mind, Rob's got some really big decisions to make, and you go against Newcastle hoping to continue a little bit of this momentum, decisions, decisions, decisions for Edwards, and a final decision for Liam Keane, give us your prediction for Sunday, you know? Right, I think it'll be a decent game, I can have you a few goals, I don't think more so win it, I think they can win it, don't do me wrong, but I think I'm going to go for a Desmond, Wolves 2, Newcastle 2, 2, 2, 2, bits of a bit of drama down at more than you, love that from Keane.
