DWTS Week 5 Deep Dive: Fan Favorite Goes Home + Joe Manganiello & Sofía Vergara Drama
118m 38s
The episode begins with a lively recap of *Dancing with the Stars* from the previous night, where hosts Ria and Fran analyze performances, judge scores, and debate fairness in critiques. Guillermo’s exit is celebrated as a well-timed, graceful departure, despite concerns about inconsistent judging—especially the harsh criticism of Connor compared to Guillermo’s glowing reviews. The hosts praise standout performances by Amber, Julia, and Ezra, and express anticipation for the emotional Dedication Night, which will reveal personal stories behind the dancers’ motivations. A lighter segment focuses on personal challenges, including jury duty anxiety, with one host jokingly suggesting a spoon under the pillow for luck. The conversation also touches on lifestyle choices, such as comfort in fashion, with references to Bombas' cozy footwear and ethical donations. A controversial story about Selma Blair being arrested on a Delta flight is shared, detailing allegations of violence and legal proceedings. The episode blends entertainment, personal vulnerability, and social commentary, ending on a warm, reflective note that emphasizes comfort, empathy, and individual agency.

Your dreams have come true because today is the first time. Is this the first time it has to be the first time? No, we've definitely done this before. Of just a Fran and Noah episode. Today is just a Fran and Noah episode. Well, Ria is, we're going to for days. I think it's time the majority of the episode will be. Olive Shush. Well, we'll have to answer with the stars. Yeah. I know. I feel like we've definitely done this before. Maybe not. I don't think we have. We're already arguing and we just started. I can't remember it in recent memories at least. I really don't think we have. Ria is still pretty down bad. I will say post, fall, and getting home and everything that happened. Last week, she obviously went to go see someone and they were like, "You are, your body is just incredibly swollen." So she is managing through that. And then I have jury duty on Wednesday. So we were just a lot of back and forth. We're trying to figure out the right schedule because neither of us want to miss it. Because the stars, which we didn't, because we are going to be on Zoom right after the episode to recap everything that happened on Tuesday's episode of Dancing with the Stars. Super Bowl halftime night. And then I'll be getting jury duty. And I really hope that I really hope that I get out of this quick. You might be there all day because it's just luck of the draw. Like whether you get called or not. But I feel like if you don't, you either get called early and hope that you don't get picked or you wait all day. Sit around all day and they don't have anything for you. But the worst case scenario is what happened to me. Whereas you wait all day and then literally with like 10 minutes to go, you get called to. And then they say, "Come back tomorrow. We just don't have time." And then you come back tomorrow and then they put you on a case. Oh, that would be bad. I really hope that doesn't happen. Although the thing with this is, so even if like our tour is starting in two weeks, which is I think what happened with me last year, it's the easiest, like you're not going to, you just be like, "I'm not going to be in New York." Right, right, right, right, that is true. That is true. Hopefully, it just, hopefully, I'm just in and out. The last time I went, I had jury duty maybe, gosh, I mean, it was a really long time ago. But I was working here. But it was maybe like seven, eight years ago. There's enough people in this world that getting called twice in like less than 10 years is crazy. Yeah, yeah, twice and definitely less than 10 years. And there are people who are like 60 who are like, "I've never gotten called." This is my second time. The first time was a situation where I went and sat all day long. Like I just sat there all day, they didn't have anything. And then at like four, 35 o'clock, they were like, "Okay, everybody can go." Which it's so miserable. It would be best case scenario for me. It's also the bar stool up front Wednesday night, which we are going to be attending. And there is certain programming that's happening through the night that I am involved in. And I was like, "Oh my God, if this goes all the way to the end of the day." Like I have to show up, I have to show up basically in full glam. I have to show up in full makeup for all day to sit there. Because it worst case if I am there and cannot get out until late, I have to go straight to the upfronts and be like on stage and present. What time do those start? That's, I'm supposed to be there by like six. Oh, that's early. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because Jory Doody would be like five at the end of the day. No, I know. Yeah. So it's just a problem, a real problem. Maybe you just go in and say, "Hey, I have the upfronts tonight." Those people are so angry all the time, though, like from my experience. Like if you just, if you say anything to like the front desk people, they will snap at you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're like, "Hey, like, do you think I could get there like, sit back down?" Well, imagine all this shit that they deal with all day. Like I can't even imagine the people that go in there and what. It's like the DMV. And what they say to try and like get to go home or leave. Yeah. People probably come up with the craziest shit. My thing is everyone always says, "Oh, all you have to do is say you don't want to be there." I don't think that, I think that's like a myth. I've never tried it. Yeah, but no one wants to be there. Yeah, yeah, I don't think you can just go in and say, "I don't want to be here." And then they say, "Okay, bye." Yeah, but it's like, I don't know if that was the case. Why can't I just say that when they emailed me the thing? Right, right, right. It's like, I don't want to do this. Yeah, yeah. And meanwhile, when you get sent, the notice is like, you must show up. It's the way they always say it. You absolutely, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I would be way too afraid to ever test that. So, and I post-boned it already. Like, I got, I got this notice six months ago. Like, I, I moved it. Well, that's, yeah, that's like, I didn't want to do that. Yeah, yeah. I moved it to the farthest. Like, this was like the last day that I could move it. They've tried to get me for for my whole life leading up to when I did. I had my doctor write me in no free anxiety, got me out of it. And then I tried to have him write me another one. And he was like, I'm not writing him another note. He said, no one wants to go to jury duty, just go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, right, right. It's just like something that everybody has to, not everybody, because some people never get picked. And like, me now, I got to go again. I wonder if it's because we live in, like, is it, you have a higher, I mean, that wouldn't be the case. I said, we, like, live in Manhattan. Do we have a higher chance than, like, that's a good question. And I feel like maybe, but there's more people on that. Yeah, but there's just a lot of cases. Yeah, sure. Like, the courts just very, the courts very busy here, I would think. Yeah, you know, what would you do? Like, if, if I imagine you got put on the case and you didn't have a good excuse, uh, I mean, then you're, then you're doing jury duty. Yeah, I think that's, I think that's how that goes. I think then that's how you become a member of the jury. Yeah, that is the, that is the whole point. That is the whole process. Just had a devastating nail break. I found a nail on the floor here yesterday. Oh, gross. It was a red nail. Is that a long nail? Oh, my God, Sarah, Sarah, are you picking your nails off, Patrick? Oh, and I am looking at your hand right now and you are missing a lot of nails. You guys can't see Sarah, but Sarah has about four nails left on and the rest are all off. So that, I mean, mystery solved. No, it was, it was Sarah's nail. I was next, it was next to her desk. So I could, you like to take a sip of water? I don't even know if it's the water thing, but I sure. Would you like to clear the throat? You haven't acknowledged my, my new decor. Oh, my, I forgot. It's actually kind of hard for me to see from my seat. Cause you sort of block it, but I'm sure on camera, everybody can see it. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm, I'm absolutely, I once, I have a problem where like, once a nail breaks, it's just absolutely devastating. And it's the only thing I can think of. And this just split down the, like the middle of my nail, which is a disaster. Oh, my, what am I going to do about this? Okay, this is a problem for a later time. Please tell me everything that's on your wall. Well, actually, most of it is from fans, like at live shows and stuff. This John Mayer candle, a nice fan gave me. Thank God he's allowed to be back. Yeah, this best producer, award a fan gave me. We got the Andy Richter note pad that someone gave me at a show. Oh, I got to get you some, we got to get you some Guillermo merch. Uh, yeah. Love Island season six guest pass was my name. I thought that was cool to put up there. We got my birthday. This one is actually funny. This is my password Victoria secret in 2018. Wow, just my face. I know, just my face next to that model. Who is it? Can I see? I don't know. I can't see it that far. Give it a throw. Oh, that is, oh, oh, what's her name? Hold on. I'll find it in two seconds. Row with me, I think. I have all the friendship bracelets. So many up here, you can't see, but that people have heard me. And then this Lilo is from Singapore. One of those, uh, what were those calls? Yeah, you're you're on here with Romy. Romy. Yeah. I think you interviewed. Did you interview?
When we were there. I don't know. We talked to a lot of people. We were there. Yeah. I'll just just leave this one here. What else he got? I know. I said, these are all the friends that you can't see them probably on the shelf bracelets like just accumulated over life. Yeah. And then the Lilo that I just actually broke its leg off and I dropped it, but that's from Singapore. What were those called? Remember a little like blind boxes? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Where we just kept going. We kept going back to the store. He used up all my money before the cash. Yes. Yes. And we kept going back to the store to just do more like blind box openings of different things. Because that's really when the Labubu craze was. Yeah. That kind of ended. Taken over. Yeah. But it was like, we were kind of on the tail end. But then there was other ones that you could get. I'm sure that over there, it's still like waiting. Yeah. There were just other types of like dolls and things you can open, which you, which you can where there's lots of other options. And that's what everybody was figuring out. What's, what's the big chain? Where did that come from? Well, that's one of we did my dance, uh, me, Marty and Ria and she gave me that like custom chain, uh, Capizio and yeah, zip code. That's my, my birthday, 10, 15, 25 on the end. First, I'm for some reason I, because just that's where I am. I could only see five. Oh, I thought it was five digits. I was like, is that your, your area? Of course. Someone gave me my achievement award for completing my 30 before 30 list plaque. Pretty impressive. Uh, pretty impressive gifts you've been given. I know. I was like, these are pretty good. I'm like, how do they get like the vector file for this a little bit? Yeah. That and, and just, I mean, everything really has been pretty well done. My one thing that I stole from Miss Piggy, a feather. Well, I fell off the floor. They were, they were feathers all over the floor. So I took one. And you've saved that? I mean, yeah, saved it. Uh, sorry. That is little weird, but wait, it's just, it's just a loose feather. You, we need to like put it in something. I know. Well, it's right there. Yeah, it needs to be, it needs to be free. The bottom of it says like, from Miss Piggy's coat or something. Yeah. Because just a loose feather that you're not going to, you're going to, it's going to fly away. I mean, it's been on my, I've spent on this table all year, and it hasn't gotten anywhere. What if there's a little breeze that goes through? I guess. Also, I said that I guarantee you at some point, I'm going to forget that these shelves are here, because I don't really have a lot of room back here. And I'm going to knock them both off the wall. That will definitely happen at one point. You don't think they're, they're, they're, that's secured in there. I don't know. We'll find out. But can you, can you pull up your face on here so I can see? Oh, my face. Oh, yeah, I guess I could, yeah. I want to see what you're, oh, that looks nice. Now I can see the whole view. Because for my angle, I can't see. You place yourself perfectly in the center. Yeah. There you go. There's, that, that's like, no, it's corner. Maybe we just need to, maybe I need a little sign that says, no, it's corner. The John mayor. It's nice. Yeah, I mean, you really have a good view of everything that's on there. Yeah, we got the Kate Hudson. I did think it was kind of funny to have Kate Hudson be the only thing behind me, but you know, she's still, she's still there. Yeah, without context, though, it could, oh, I mean, any guests who came in here, they'd probably be like, why is that just on the wall over there? Right. Right. For this, for the sake of keeping guests feeling like this is a safe and normal environment. That was a good, like, icebreaker for guests when we came in the 30 before 30 thing on the wall, because they'd all be like, what is that? Yeah, and there was a while you had a giant happy pen. I still have that over here. Uh, behind you as well. All those being extra needy right now, where she wants. I think all of this is not like the new studio set up. I will say just because she can't sit on it. Look, everybody was worried that the chair wasn't going to be conducive to her sitting on my lap. And they're correct. It's not. And she does want to be sitting on someone's lap at all times. That's just the way she is next you would, would all sit in the chair and know. Um, maybe she likes to be at a certain height. That would be funny. She's just at the level of the table. She just sat. Yeah, right, right, right. Now she's fine though. She's, she's got this beautiful bed that she likes. She's just, she's just a needy girl. You know, I missed her birthday. You want me to get out about it? No, no, I knew, I knew it was her birthday. We were just in Vegas, October 3rd. So it did geling off. She's three years old. Yeah, yeah. She had a big day. My friends took her out. They went to the bar. The big birthday celebration. That's 21. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. It was a beautiful day here. They took her down like the west side highway, took her, took her to the bar with my other with a, what a couple of my friends in their dog as well. And I had a beautiful time. But we have some topics we're going to get into. We have our dance with the stars recap. We also have the pop corner. So we could just jump right into the topics. I believe most, I mean, there's going to be a lot of dancing with the stars. We're recording this right now before the episode has even aired. So I'm hoping it's a good one. We shall see. So we're going to get right into our dance with the stars recap from Tuesday night. We are on zoom. So it is all three of us to recap the show. So we just finished up the episode. Noah, how are you feeling? Because my goodness gracious, you were like throwing a hissy fit in the chat about Guillermo tonight. Oh, what is happening? Team Guillermo, team Guillermo, we're winners in our hearts, winners in our hearts. I'm going to go buy salsa right after this. Well, you know, it's so funny that when you started, Fran was like, what are you cold in your apartment? And Noah's like, yeah, it's really cold. Why does he have his jacket zipped up like that? I did want to have to whip this out as early as this week. I thought I could have done it in person at the very earliest next week. I thought we had time, but sadly, not sadly, not sadly, it was his time. Did you know he had that? No, I had no idea. I've had this for like two weeks now. I had no idea that this was happening. And you know what? You didn't make the mistake with Andy. You bought it. You bought all your merch too late. And honestly, I took mine out after Andy lost. And I had after Andy lost too, so it just worked out. But this time I didn't make the mistake. I was like scrumming through my closet being like, I need to find something with a zipper because I am not doing what I did last time and like, I forgot you guys. And I'm pretty short. It was over zoom last time. It was in the LA. It was in the hotel. Oh, it was in the hotel. We were like, what are you doing? Yes, because I knew it wasn't in our studio. He just stood up and took his shirt off. And he was extremely uncomfortable. Well, that's what I did this time, but it wasn't as weird because of the zipper. I could do it quickly. Yeah, this was less weird. It was much more of a jacket, which I really like, I was like, how cold is it here? It was not that cold today. Honestly, though, because like, I don't think it's a secret that you guys were rooting for Tyler of our Guillermo. I thought you guys were ahead of me. And I saw a text pop up from rehabbing like an all caps. No. And I was like, we did it. Like, we survived. So. And then Guillermo got voted off. And you were just saying no to him being in the bottom two, I guess. No, I was saying that was France text who wrote a capital letter. That was actually when Jackson got saved. Like, when Jackson got saved, I was like, oh, I just felt like that might have been bad news for Tyler. Yeah, I genuinely thought when it got down to the bottom two that it might have been Tyler's time and really wanted Tyler to get to dedication.
night. So I just was like about to cry. But also, I just didn't think there was any way Guillermo was going home. I'm not gonna lie. I really didn't. I thought Guillermo had more time. I didn't, I, okay, obviously I wanted Tyler to stay over Guillermo. But I didn't want Guillermo to go. And you know what, sue me. But in this situation, obviously between the two of them, I wanted Guillermo to go over Tyler. Yeah, I felt like after Jackson's name was called pretty early. I was like, Oh, this is going to come down. It's come down to to Guillermo. And he's fantastic. I will say this was the first time it felt also like in my DMs posting that when I was like love Guillermo, I said like love Guillermo, but it's his time. It was a overwhelming amount of people agreeing with me. It was either people agreeing with me or there were like no Jackson first than him. So so I will say that we got to that point where it felt like the masses were like this was a lot of fun. We had fun with this gear. You know, there's, there's not much more we can do here. And, and we love you Guillermo. We watch you sail off in the sunset. And Whitney is also just absolutely amazing and very pregnant. And this is it. This was the right time. This was an appropriate time for Guillermo to go for sure. And I think that I actually was being hypnotized by Whitney. Yeah. Like tonight watching them dance. I was like, Oh my God, I think I'm turned on by Guillermo. But I really think I was just Whitney being so good and hot while being so pregnant. Like I'm just I was so incredible impressed. But yeah, I think this was an appropriate time for him to go. And I honestly think if you were to ask Guillermo, he would say this was this was his time for him to leave. I think Guillermo was really tired. I think Guillermo obviously would have loved to keep going. But at the same time, like I think he was like this has been already exceeded all of his expectations. Like I feel like he's like, I, I'm so happy to be where where he is. And he's going out on top. Like no matter what he's going out, absolutely beloved. And he's going to stay that way. Because I think if he stayed a couple more weeks, that's when people start to turn on you. And then that could have been bad. It's like if he stayed a few more weeks, the people who love Guillermo, but also love the show could have gotten frustrated being like, oh, you know, so great dancers are going home over Guillermo. It was really the perfect time for Guillermo to keep all of his fans and just bow out gracefully. I totally agree. And I feel like we got what are we on now week five? Yeah, we've I feel like we got five solid dances out of him that we can rewatch time and time again and get a get a kick out of and appreciate how much effort he put in. I really did feel like he put in effort tonight to like I saw when he was doing this to the crowd. I was fired up. Right. But that's not yes. He's not dead. I don't care. I don't care. Okay. Haven't I made that clear? No, you've made it a bunch of. But he when he was like moving his hips a little bit, I'm like, okay, he's gotten some movement in his hips. He's trying. There was definitely improvement week after week, but this was the time. And especially when it came down to Guillermo and Tyler, absolutely Guillermo had to go. I feel like Tyler had a good dance tonight wasn't my absolute favorite of Tyler's. I think last week, I thought was Tyler's best, but this was really fun and it's a jazz which allows more movement and freedom and fun in the style of dance. I think we can go through the dances of the night. I think that this theme better than the last two weeks. Totally, totally. I thought all the dances were way more fun, way more high energy, music we all know and love. And just to start it off, I mean, before we go through every dance, Joe Buck was the guest judge. I thought he did a great job. He just he played the role perfectly. He said, I know nothing about dance. I'm going to do what everyone tells me to do around me. I think he looked up. Like I think he looked at Derek scores, Bruno scores. I went, I'll just add one for funsies. Like I'll just be I'll just be in front of everybody else to be like, so everyone loves me a little bit more. I'll give them one score higher. Yeah. And then he just said something like really genuine and nice about his couple of dance. He was the fun substitute teacher. Like, yeah, I come in and I give everyone a little extra point, a little higher grade and everyone loves me. And you know what, that's what you got to do is a guest judge. You can't just be like a stickler when you're Joe Buck and you commentate football. You can't come in and act like you know everything about ballroom dancing. But I felt like his feedback was good. I feel like a lot of people are honored to be commentated by Joe. Yeah. We started off with Moira and Mark with a tango. I felt like this was underwhelming compared to her past dances. I was not blown away by this one. That was just me. They're still great. Like the thing is like they are great. But I felt pretty underwhelmed by this. Yeah, they're beautiful dances and she's a beautiful dancer. I think we're just kind of seeing a lot of the same, which is why it's kind of giving us like a little bit of this of maybe that underwhelmed feeling because we have been seeing a lot of dances with her in frame. And she's so good at that. We know that. So I'm excited to see a different style of dance. Like I love to see her doing a jive. Like I love to see her doing something upbeat fun that's maybe more individual and not just partner base because her and Mark are such good partners. And I think he knows how to highlight her strength so well, especially when they're in hold because she has such a gorgeous gorgeous posture, all these things. So when we get to see something different, I think that'll be great. It just feels like we're getting a little bit of the same stuff. However, it is at such a high level. Like that's what's they are so good that it stays being so good, but it just feels like we're, it's not something new and different yet. I agree. Moving on to Jackson and Emma, the most predictable thing of all time was that his song was Uptown Funk. Like I act, you actually, yeah, you gave me every guess. My first guess would have been their dancing dog's hand funk. Uptown Funk is a fun song. It's actually one of my favorite super bowl performances of all time was Bruno Mars and Beyonce together is such a fun one. 2016. I believe this one was right when I could not tell you when Beyonce and Bruno Mars did they're like little battle together. Oh, I go back and watch that time and time again. This was a fun dance. It's always a fun dance. That was 2014. Oh, sorry 2014. Uptown even longer. The uptown basically said this was 2016 Bruno Mars though. I think Bruno Mars has done it multiple times. So I think Bruno Mars has popped out during multiple super bowl half times shows. So oh, you know what? He came out in 2016 when cold play was. Yeah, cold play with Beyonce and Bruno Mars headline 2014. He came. Yeah, but in 2016, it was cold play Bruno Mars and Beyonce. This is a fun dance. It's always like this is just what we're getting week to week with with Jackson. I feel like yeah, definitely. With him going early and getting eighths, I just felt like this scoring disparity for the rest of the night was crazy to me because I was like if Jackson is getting eighths, like if Carian is giving Jackson an eight and Connor is getting a six, I just was and also Amber got an eight like that. Carian giving Amber and Jackson the same score was astonishing to me because I just felt like Amber was so incredible. And it's fine. If you're going to give out, if you're going to give out eights at that level, okay, fine, then that is the bar you have set for eights. Everybody else that is similar better to be close to that and Amber should be way above that then. And Amber went right after. So going right after and getting getting the same score, you see how different the dance was. Yeah, exactly. And Jackson is getting better and I can see that and the performance quality is there and it's entertaining. But you know, it's he's just not he's just not our cup of tea. And that's okay. And it's nothing personal. It's just how we feel. I agree. And I think we're allowed to feel that way. And I had some people message me like we got Jackson's vulnerable side tonight. I said where, where are talking about losing the banana bowl last week? Like I don't, I don't know. I texted you guys and I said they they lost the banana that we miss that part in our banana bowl of recap. We missed the fact that they lost the banana banana bananas are always losing. I don't think they're a winning team. But yeah, I don't know about vulnerable talking about losing the banana bowl. That's like broadcasted on Disney. But I don't know. I don't know. But if people are buying it and they want to buy into the bananas and then and Jackson, that's fine. You're right. He's just not our cup of tea. We're not we're not sipping on it. We're not, you know, it is what it is. No. After and so we move on to Amber. Yeah. Oh, who is just so damn good. Oh, wow. And you know what? So good. Does it? It's like, does you just feel a little tingle inside when you see those pants come out? Oh, yeah. When I see those ladies shake their hips in those pants. And I'll, you know, I'll throw Connor in the mix too. When you put those pants on and when you put those pants on, I go, oh, truly, that I think is the one, like maybe one of the biggest reasons I would ever want to be on this show is
for that I could dance in those pants. And like, you just look better dancing in those pants. - Baby, we can get you a pair of those pants anytime you want. - I know, seriously, should I be my Halloween costume? - I think you should. - I think we should just all be in those pants for Halloween. - Shit, no, it's already around. - No one's got to wear them, too. - Come on. - I was gonna say, honestly, being Guillermo would be kind of a good Halloween costume. - We can all be our favorite dancers from season. - Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that would be crazy. But Amber is so strong, such an amazing dancer. Would she hit that split? - Oh, on the beat, too. - Yeah, it was spectacular. - Shills, spectacular. - Shills. - To be honest, I think that, because there were some dances that got all nines this evening. And I think she should have gotten all nines. - I agree with you. - So Tyler and Sharna went next, they did a jazz. I thought that this was a fun dance, totally. I agree with what they're saying, though, Tyler is a big guy. So getting him to move is a little bit harder, and you can tell that he needs to loosen it up just a bit. I feel like he's getting there. I thought last week we saw it more than this week, but I thought that this was a really fun dance. - Yeah, it's just a lot of way to throw around. - And carry in. - Carry in, acknowledge how great he is at the lifts, which is technically so hard. I know that it's something that people kind of overlook because he is strong, so it just seems like effortless. But it's really, he makes it look effortless, 'cause it could be really so, so difficult. And like the way, like Carry said, the way he gracefully takes her out of the lifts and all those things is really good. And we're an amazing song. - That's just a fun one. I mean, we love Black Eyed Peas on this podcast, so anytime you throw a Black Eyed Peas song of the mix, we're gonna eat it up. - It's a pretty bit, yeah, that's a good one. But yeah, I did enjoy carrying and complimenting the lifts in this dance because she is particular about her lifts and she is very adamant that lifts belong in certain dances. This one, she said, lifts do belong, and so she will give credit to how good the lifts are. I thought it was really fun, and I would have been really bummed if this was the one he went out on. - Yeah, like we said, look, we really got it in Tyler dedication week, and we did it. And my god, boy am I ready to sob my eyes out next week. Let me tell you what I prepared. - It just feels like a relief. - I know, I know, it really does. It really does. I'm so happy for him. Connor was next hysterical. He got me, pulling the pants off to have the orange pants underneath the match Riley was very funny. This is showmanship done right. Like I think he knows he's not technically the best dancer, but they know that they can kind of throw these fun entertainment, entertaining aspects in. And I really do think he's getting a lot more criticism from the judges than anybody else. If you just look compared to what they say to Guillermo versus what they say to Connor, like I don't know if it's just because they are like, it's like ha ha Guillermo, but they're given them the same scores. And if you just took what they were saying, you would think Guillermo's dance was amazing, fantastic, flawless. And Connor messed up every single step, like the way that it sounds like the way they talk. And it's hard because Riley did give him a really intense sombal. Like there was a lot of classic sombal moves in there, which are tricky. I think the pants maybe hid some mistakes to the layman's eye because they, it seemed to the judges saw a lot more than what I saw because it finished. I was like, that was good. And they were like, not so much. And I thought, ooh, maybe I gotta watch that one again, because I thought that, like I thought he was doing better. >> Yeah, I didn't think he was great to be honest. I kind of did, like was like, oh, that was not good, but it was funny and entertaining. But I think you're 100% correct in terms of like the criticism that Connor is getting compared to someone like Guillermo. And this goes back to treating grown men like babies. Like, yes, all Guillermo, you're like, you're doing so good and so much fun. And then like Connor, they're like, they expect more from him. So they give him a harsher critique. But everyone should be getting the same critique as it just goes back to the treating grown men, like little babies when they don't need to be treated that way. Even though Guillermo is cute and funny, people would say the same about fibula. So I feel like, I get why people would be like, okay, why is he getting harsher criticism? But then you do bring up the argument of more potential with your 100% correct. They see more potential. They could see that fibula can move more than Guillermo. So they want him to do more, but it is a slippery slope when you're judging that. But I do, I did not think the dance was great, but I did think it was entertaining. And it does just maybe feel back 'cause I think at a certain point like week after week when you're not really getting positive feedback, that can be challenging and tough on you. - Oh my God, I would like lose my mind if that was me, you know? - I was watching Amy Polar with Andrew Garfield talking about the difference in like a director who will just make you do 20 takes in a row, but never tell you you're doing a good job versus like, you know what, you're doing really great, but you know me and I love doing 20 takes. And it's like, if you don't get, sometimes if people don't get that positive reinforcement, it goes out the window. You don't feel motivated to do better the next week. So for Connor, I feel like Connor likes hearing positive reinforcement and gets in his head when he doesn't hear it. And I feel like he needs to hear a little bit more of it because they are being harsh on him. - There's just also no way that him and Guillermo should be getting the same scores. - No, no, no, no, no, no, no. - No, it's just like, it's crazy to me like to watch that day, to be like, oh, to, for Guillermo to get a six, like I'm sorry, it's just not, it's like Joe Buck is side, Joe Buck can do whatever he wants, like, but Carianne doing, given the six is there, Carianne's judging was all over the place tonight to say this. - Derek was like to fib you like, but I'm sure you'll be here next week. Like they know like who's, they know whose fan bases are strong enough where like it doesn't matter. - And maybe that's why they feel more comfortable giving him criticism because they know he's good. They, honestly him getting harsh criticism only makes his fans ride harder for him. - Yeah, yeah, definitely. And, and I would too, like if it was my purse, if my biggest person I was supporting on the show, I felt like was being judged a little harshly. - Yeah, I'm, you know, I'm going tentos down, fighting for him. So, he, and he stayed. Julia Styles was next she did a jazz with Ezra, little homage to, why am I spacing? - Save the last dance. I kept wanting to say, so you think you can dance. No, that's the TV show. Which was smart. I think this was the perfect time to do that. I'm sure they were waiting for the right dance where they could put this choreography and these moments into it. And I love that Ezra was like, look, this may not be a classical jazz, but I think it's fun. It's her, it plays up to the song. And it was amazing. That was some of my favorite choreography choreography of the night was this when I thought Ezra did this really well. - Ezra was an amazing choreographer. And he choreographed hip hop really well. And although this was jazz, there was hip hop elements into it, which I thought made it really, really fun. And I kind of liked that the judges weren't so harsh about, oh, there's not enough jazz in this dance. Like they were just like, yeah, this was a good dance and it's fun to see Julia be confident in herself. And I thought the same thing. Like she looked really confident, comfortable in the moves that Ezra choreographed for her. And I really liked it. - I agree, I agree. Yann and Tatiana were next. I just love watching these two. I just, I love these two might be my favorite partnership of this season. - I love them. - I just really love them. I think they're so great. I think he's so fun. I think he's bringing that sexy, fun side out for her and she keeps getting better and better every week. And I do think that was deceivingly a really hard dance. Sully from just the tempo of that song, 'cause I know Derek had said like, ooh, it felt like a little slow and in times in the solsa is just like pop, pop, pop, pop. But it's hard to do the pop, pop, pop to that song. So I feel like they did the best with the song that they had. - Yeah, I, you know, it's hard because I think I don't understand the solsa that well. - I think that I just don't understand because I feel like the solsa is where people have been getting the hardest critique this season. Is the song, the songs with the solsa are not matching. - Yeah. - And so yeah, I can see, but I really love them. And I think that they are so fun. And I love watching Tatiana grow every week. And I love the confidence that yarn and stills in Tatiana. And you can tell every time she's dancing. - Totally. Guillermo, Guillermo was next. It was as always a fun dance. Whitney just puts on a production for him, which is so smart. And there's so much of a nod to the bad bunnies. Half-time show, I mean, they got Danny Mendoel at the bar behind Guillermo. Like it was, it was great. Little the grass moments that when he's like, "You're bad bunny, I'm Rihanna." Like it was, it was so fun. They do, she does such a great job for him. I thought it was a great dance to go out on because it was, it was high energy, as always. He always gets the crowd into it. And it was fun. I had a rewind on it.
I had to. I was like, well, I need to watch this again. - Honestly, you and Derek, I think at the same feedback, 'cause you were texting like, look at his hips and Derek was like, look at his swag. There was a little moment where his hips had some movement and there was some-- - There was some fluidity. - There was some improvement there, not enough, but there was some there and, you know, it was time. After that was Jenna and Val. - Jenna and Val did a post at Oblay, that was spectacular. - Oh, wow, did this hit hard, the bad romance first of all. - Yeah. - Obviously, we're gonna heat that up. But just like the intensity at which Jenna dances at was so good for the post at Oblay. - Exactly. Like every week, it felt like she was getting feedback of, you know, raided in a little bit, some finesse, all these things, this ballroom, and then you get a poso and it's like, "Ah, be powerful, be sharp, you know, hit those moves." And she really did, I like, the judges loved it, we loved it, it was amazing. In that same realm, Harry was next. And I really just had like, I just think of my couch. I'm like, "Oh my God, he is Martha from high school musical." Like when Martha is just like, I just wanna pop and lock and jam and break. Like that is Harry, he can't control himself. His body just like breaks out into the robot. And he's like, he's like trying to do the sob arms, but they're like, they just go like, "Yes." Or just, he just wants to do hip hop so bad. - Your story made me laugh so hard. I was like, that is so spot on. He cannot control himself. - Jen, you and me, he just turns into beat, but but but but but. - He cannot. - It's like, contain it. - I was laughing at the package so hard, 'cause it almost felt like, 'cause they're dancing to, yeah. And he's just like talking about how much he loves usher. And it felt like, I almost felt like Jenna was like, all right, buddy, like, I know you wanna break dance to, yeah. Right now, it's like there needs to be an episode of a show written about a guy who just can't stop breaking out into hip hop dance like Harry. - Right, and he's so good, but he's not really doing the dance. - No. - So I get the judges' criticism in a step up competition. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - He is always in that form. - He just wants to pop and lock and jam and break. He just, he just, he just needs to do it. And it was so true, there's a couple, like there's a couple girls in my dams that were like, look, I know Harry is an amazing dancer, but like he is kind of doing the same sort of thing week to week. And then you see something like what Connor and Riley did and Riley gave him a lot of Samba content. And he got a lot of criticism. And Harry has his strengths. And then it's like when he was actually doing some of the Samba stuff, the judges were like, oh, was it really that clean? But everything else is so good because he's just naturally such a good dancer that it makes those scores go up way higher. It's tricky. - Right, am I loving Harry Shum? No, I'm not. And I feel sort of the same way about him that I feel about Jackson, where I'm planning getting the same thing week to week. But my goodness gracious, am I going to be laughing about the pop-a-log jam break for a long time? Because they're, I don't know if true words I've ever been said. He's like the kid that plays the drums and just like has his drumsticks in his back pocket at all time. And like just like can't help but like bring him out no matter what. He's just got to go with it. There's a need to just courses through it. It's so spot on. - Wow, Jenna was not having Karen's feedback. - I mean, Karen went, honey, let me pull out my paper and read the definition of lift for you. - This drama, I love to this drama because I know that Jenna and Val are going home and talking mad shit about Karen. - This, totally. This gave me such great like flashbacks of old dancing with the stars when the pros would legit fight back with the judges, when the judges, yeah, the judges would give their feedback and the pros would like roll their eyes. They'd argue back with them. And this was the first time that that's happened in a while where Jenna was like, what? - When they were getting their scores, the camera shot was framed where like it was on Jenna and then like Val was like right behind her and Val was just making these faces. Well, they were asking her about like what they thought about what she said. - Oh, God, it really was, I just was eating it up. I love the drama. I mean, sue me. - I agree with you. You need a little flair in there, a little drama with the judges. Ezra went last, he closed the night to a little, a little Nelly. He's just mesmerizing. This was me, I was really like this watching him dance. Like my mouth opens, smiling. He's so incredible. - This guy's winning it all. - Mark it, he's winning it all. - I know, I hear you. - He's so fucking good. - He's so good. Danny is just such an amazing choreographer. We say it week after week, but you can really tell that Ezra's leading the dances, because it would be very easy for Danny to lead every dance, kind of like how she did with Dylan Efron. It felt like Danny was, you know, she's the Ferrari, but she also felt like the driver with Dylan Efron. For Ezra, Ezra is driving and he is so damn good. I sound like Derek, like with my fucking puns. Like, okay, what was, what, you're the linebacker. This was as strong as the linebacker, precise as a quarterback. - Okay, real. - Touchdown. - Like what was that? - That would be good if you guys just your review of the show, you had to do it as if you were like sitting there. - Okay, let's be real though. Like if we were to do Halloween costumes for the judges, I got people setting this in my DMs. They were like, you guys should be the judges. And people were like, oh no, it should be Carianne. But I actually think if we were to go based off of energy, I feel like I would be Carianne. - Yeah, I think you would be Carianne, Rio de Bruno, and then not just so Bruno. - So Bruno, but sometimes Derek, sometimes a little cheesy. - Listen, I'm not Derek, I'm probably not any of them, but I think you guys are. - Yeah. - I think we're like maybe so obviously. - Yeah. - No, Fred, but I feel like you could give Derek. - Yeah, yeah, but sometimes I can be a stick- - Yeah, I like Carianne. - You know what? - Yeah. - I would be rattled by what Carianne said. - I would be the one that was with my piece of paper. I'd be like, this actually, actually 100% you are carrying. - Now that I'm thinking about it. - I know, you're carrying. - Without some of her terrible, like without some of the numbers. - Remove some of the bad jokes. - Yeah. - But like the stickler. - I don't think Fred would be as harsh though, directly to like Jenna's face like that. - If there was a lift, I don't know. If you were standing on the other side. - If it was me dancing, but not if it was like these pros, I don't know. - No, that's fair, that's fair, that's fair. But it was a fun night, thank God when it got to the end. I think we were holding our breath because we, just were really rooting for Tyler here. Dedication night is next week. So everyone get your tissues ready because it's a tear jerker from beginning to end. - No matter what. - I remember last year I cried my eyes out for two hours. I know next week's gonna be the same situation. - Yeah. - It will be. - It will be. - It's just always such a emotional night. But I always really enjoy Dedication night because I feel like you sort of learn the reason why people are doing what they do. Why they're there. What's motivating them to dance? Everybody has something in them with that. So I'm actually very excited for Dedication night. - I saw people say like the Conor and Brooke fans were like, what if Conor dedicates this song to Brooke? - That's not, I really need, I really need, those fans to reel it back in for a second. And I'm a fan of both of them. - I know, I know. - I'm a fan of both of them. - By the way, it would be phenomenal TV. It would be great TV and obviously would secure some of those. - And the fans would eat it up. - Of course, if you're looking to eat some things up. But I'd imagine there's something in Conor's life that goes beyond his show. - You know what I mean? - For sure, for sure. - And I feel like you gotta get a little bit deeper. - Yeah, look, I'm already envisioning whatever Tyler and Sharna do to honor his mom and I'm just gonna. - Yeah. - Yeah. - And so many other stories from other people that are gonna be told that it will be it's your jerker. - But yeah, sadly, Guillermo had to go and, but here's the thing, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. - I am buying his salsa ASAP. I gotta get to a store. - You gotta get to it. I was eating it last night. It's fucking delicious. - They don't have them in the city. But they do have some in Jersey. There was one, the Wegmans downtown, I think has it. - Oh really? I gotta get some. - When we're in the office, you might have to get it delivered to the office 'cause it's closer, you know? - Yeah, yeah, I really want some though. - By the way. - When we had it when we were there, it was delicious. - I feel like, 'cause Joe Buck said it. Like, I actually think that we shouldn't loop Andy and Guillermo together. Like, I think Guillermo should be like, that's his own season. He left his own mark. And it shouldn't be like, oh, Andy, he's the
Andy of this season, like Guillermo is a totally different, he's his own man. Okay. Everybody's their own person and everybody deserves their own sign. And nobody's saying he wasn't, I think it was just a nod. No, I think everyone is like, oh, this is just, he's, it's going to be the same thing. But, you know, well, unfortunately in the way of life, comparison, you know, it's, it happens. But I got what you're saying. His own shine and Guillermo deserves his own shine and we will, he will be missed. He will certainly be missed. He will, he will. Do you think you'll hang up something behind you in honor of Guillermo in the studio? Uh, yeah, I guess I, I mean, I have the shirt now. Um, you actually, if really you haven't seen my new shelves, uh, they were, they were put up today. There's a big debut in the West, I know, I'm, I'm bummed. I really was very unwell, very unwell. So we're, we're on the up, we're on the up. Yeah. And, uh, you have jury duty tomorrow. So we were, it was a, it was a tennis match of, do we record today without me or do we record tomorrow without you? Yes. And we ended up just deciding that this, this way the episode can get out as quick as possible. So everyone gets the dance with the stars recap right there in the AM. Yes. Yep. Love it. Fran put a spoon under your pillow tonight. Put a spoon under your pillow tonight. Good luck with jury duty. Oh, oh, oh, is that good luck? No, I was just, I mean, you do have a snow day. So, yeah, I was, I was like, I was like, does that have anything to do with jury duty? No, no, it's just like a good luck thing. Am I trying to get my jury duty to be snowed out? Yeah. I'm also like, maybe, maybe, do you want, do you do or do you not want jury duty? Like do you want to be involved or do you not want to be involved? Zero percent. Zero percent. Zero percent. Zero percent. Zero percent. Yeah. I want to be involved. Zero percent. Yeah. Speaking of tour, St. Louis is sold out and so is Indy and New York City is almost sold out. Crazy story from Selma Blair on a Delta flight seemed to be a bit of an outburst and she was arrested will go through the details of that Joe Manginello has a new book coming out where he details a lot of this ongoing illness he's been dealing with his marriage to Sophia Vergara and there's been some back and forth with Sophia about that. And then Amanda Seifred said that she will no longer or not that she will no longer but there was a show that she said no to a lot of sex scenes. It doesn't want to do it and I feel like fairly understandable at this point in her career. So we will start off with Selma Blair. This was a crazy story. Selma Blair was arrested after an alleged violent outburst on a Delta flights. She entered a not guilty plea on Monday after being charged with two counts of second degree assault following a series of alleged attacks on a flight attendant, a port authority police officer and a hospital nurse. She was seen in court already. Bell was secured. Her lawyer was like wiping her face. You see these pictures wiping her face and in court. And the case was adjourned until January 19th, 2027. Maybe you'll get put on that case. Oh my God. Oh my God. Imagine. No, that's the timing. We're not lying out there. Also different state. Yeah. Super. No, she's in New York. Oh, she's in New York. She landed at JFK. Oh my God. So you could be put on the case. She land. This was and then they took her to the hospital. Well, I wouldn't be in Manhattan. They took her to the hospital and that's when she also apparently attacked a nurse when they when she got to the hospital and the nurse's nurse press charge the nurse press charges. This immediately when I saw this and went, oh, no, because I kind of first assumed that maybe it was something with her meds. She does have MS and that is what her lawyer is saying that she had missed her medication prescribed to treat her multiple sclerosis and also had fallen and hit her head. He claimed that she boarded the flight after being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours and the days leading up to the trip. These factors coupled with the altitude resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation. This was not an intentional assault. And then of course, like they tried to say like, oh, look at her body of work and the judge was like, well, she's not going to be treated any differently because she's a celebrity, which is. Wait, they said look at her body of work as like her career. Also asked the judge to consider Blair's body of work claiming she is the gold standard. The judge replied Ms. Blair should not get any special treatment because she's a celebrity. I mean, yeah, I mean, I guess you can try, but like that would be insane to we've had way more successful celebrities out there who've come to jail. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right. I think it's like in these situations, if you're the lawyer, probably throwing everything out there. I guess. You're just some of Blair's gold standard. I mean, no, she was two minutes ago. That is crazy. You know, you know what someone Blair was? No, honestly, like named in red. Have you seen Lee Lee Blondt? Like, not I haven't seen like I know Lee Lee Blondt. I haven't seen it like, someone was on it was on dancing with the stars, not to make this about dance. Well, she was on dance with the stars, like how long, like before it was hot. Like not that long ago. Really? I look up what year's what season she was on. We're on season 35 right now. Animal Blair, cruel intentions, legally blonde. Those are probably like the really the biggest, the biggest ones, but she's done a ton. Oh, 2022, season 31, 2022, not that long ago. Wait, she withdrew from medical safety because of her MS. She tried to dance through it and then at a certain point, like she had to quit. It was very sad. I do remember. She was with Sasha, like at that point, her body just couldn't handle it. She was flying from LA to New York on a Delta flight, which, you know, hey, those flights feel like they're forever. We are, and we are often on those flights. Could you imagine if you were just, all right.
Their TMZ posted a recording of I guess maybe when they landed and it's just audio like someone had just recorded audio and She's screaming bloody murder like it is. I mean, it's crazy I don't I don't know I think she's had You know, she's had issues with you know, she's talked about it before she does issues with alcoholism There was a moment where she had some sort of drunken incident on a plane like 10 years ago as well But that was like like I just said when she was when she was drinking But they restrained her on the aircraft. She was taken into custody after landing and that she was taken by ambulance to a hospital while in Rouchy allegedly repeatedly kicked a port authority police officer in the head and then once at the hospital She allegedly assaulted a nurse who later pressed charges Blair faces federal saw allegations related to the alleged in fight in flight incident in addition to the two state assault charges stemming from the attacks on the officer and nurse They're just they're saying that she experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged con conduct Upon landing she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition I mean, they she was in court like she's standing up in court They're visibly like yeah, I saw the video for walking out. Yeah, yeah, she looks Not well like she looks you know, she's clearly upset. Yeah, if she looks really good I'd be more no that would be crazy. That would be crazy But no, and you know what? I guess apparently she may be a bit of flight attendant and that will be where yelling at her when she's walking out Did you bite someone to do bite someone? I saw I saw something that said apparently in her memoir She wrote about how she has bit like multiple people in Her life just like I don't know some sort of No, no, like some sort of Weird like anxiety a reaction Hmm, this is some of Blair has a bizarre history of biting celebrities including Sienna Miller, Seth McFarlane and Kate Moss In her 2022 memoir memoir, she explained that her biting habits stem from feeling overwhelmed in public My system gets overwhelmed and instantaneously short circuits in my life So social interactions have been cumbersome. She writes in the book She first describes taking your teeth into Sienna Miller at the show Chateau Marmon in 2006 after she introduced herself to the fellow actress Which is great like by your fingernails like a normal person. I don't know It sounds like something that like is a weird. I don't know that sounds like a made-up thing And then she bites someone and then it's like well, what why did I just do that? She also bit family guy creator something far from after she was invited out to a Las Vegas gathering by a new friend Scarlett Johansson in 2004 She bit Seth McFarlane. She struggled with alcoholism in the past explains that she became star-struck when introduced to the writer at a Vegas club What I do and what do I do in public situations where I admire someone but feels if I don't bring anything to party I bite them on the hand. What whoa, I'm not if I bit Kate. It's crazy. Whoa, he is like star-struck. That really hurt It wasn't a disaster. I didn't break skin but I soon hated myself. Blair writes of the incident She also bit supermodel Kate Moss while hanging out with her and a few others in a London hotel suite following a Mark Jacobs fashion show She recalls taking Polaroid pictures with a model when she decided to take a bite at a mosses finger, which was met with a laugh And because she laughed I did again. The second time she did not laugh and exclaimed that really fucking hurt someone by biting history crazy I don't know so but that makes me think that there's some sort of like crazy Like anxiety or trauma response that she has were like she reverts to biting people and whatever cocktail of medications that she's on right now And if you fucked it up, it maybe just really fucked up her brain at that point. I don't know because I she's got to be She's got to be on a lot A stuff right now and a lot of men and if she doesn't take it properly or in the right order or all these things I'm sure that it can really fuck you up But just like imagine you're just in your you're sitting in your seat la la la la like here I am in 28F and and you just hear someone screaming bloody murder and then like you're saying that the That they bit a flight attendant. I can't get over this like biting celebrities disease I yeah A lot she's been a lot of people She should be locked up like no offense for biting people. Yes I I don't know. I don't know. Well now here's the thing. She was charged with all this. There's a lot of charges here But um, I mean you you do you know what MS is? No I know what MS is. Okay, because I'm wondering if you don't have anything to do with biting people. No, no No, but you it's really deteriorates her body. No, I know I know But but I feel like and especially if knowing what she could be on some crazy fucking medication and maybe the medicine This is what's doing. Yeah, like really could be on some crazy medication so My initial reaction to seeing this was just like oh, this is really sad Because I thought like oh this you you know she has MS you know that this is probably some just bad case of Something got wrong with her meds and now is just ongoing. So I guess we have to wait to see what happens in In January or if the nurse continues to press charges very sad story There's just unfortunately a lot of sat I feel like a lot of sad things happening right now um We're sure there's like terribles seriously terribles accidents and and death and and This I just like a lot about to see parmohart needs to be on Amy puller's box. It's all I came out I was I was listening there. There you go. That's way to lift your spirits. Yeah Now I was like I was thinking she's kind of like taking over the joker's in ski like Roll of talk show. I feel like like that for sure It's it's pot. It's possibly never listen to an episode. I've seen the clips It's so good. You should listen to she I feel like she has so much fun with her guests They have so much fun. Yeah, I listen to about half. I'm not done with it yet, but it's very good um out in New York or I think she goes back and forth. I think mostly LA actually yeah, but She's definitely going to win that golden globe A repeat you know no you just know that they're like they're giving it to like one of their own Well, she won it already. Oh, she won it already right? And she won it last year I don't know why I thought this was like the first year to be honest. No, I remember I'm pretty positive she won Yeah, look go hang with Amy puller wins the first gold club. Um, I also want to go back to back She just she just wins every year. Let's just give it to Amy puller every single year Yeah, I mean like some of the other podcasts it would be objectively hilarious if they had to go up on the golden gloves Yeah, like non-actors. Yeah. Well, what's fun about her podcast too is like they talk to people that know The guest beforehand Like someone always comes on like on zoom to talk about the guest So like for Paul they had Stella her his daughter Amy talked to her and that's always funny like when they they asked she asked them to come up with a question or something to ask them or they talk It's really to talk nicely behind their backs. That's what they say. I'm literally like a a good hang super fan I really watch y'all and that is a good way to keep the vibes up because it has already just a kick off the week been Some some sad stories Joe Manginello put a book out or is putting a book out a memoir Today comes up today comes up to the third thing Uh bloodlines is the title He details a lot about dealing with this illness kind of like a mystery illness For nearly a decade that was undiagnosed and it was a near fatal autoimmune disease um, and he's talked about sort of like How how he battled through that And the memoir also talks about the end of his marriage just a fear of rigara and like how it the the his illness and all that really took a toll on their relationship What was going viral was him saying I guess that there was a point where he asked her for a hug And she said no, yeah, but they were they were still together Yeah He claims that yeah, well that and the Chihuahua thing Yes, yes, yes, but yeah, he asked He became His marriage became devoid of any emotion. Yeah, he claims that for garter refused to hug him and made fun of his pet Chihuahua Not his pet Chihuahua But he said that like his Chihuahua basically saved his life Like in a way, I thought I thought oh the Chihuahua did too. No, like he was saying like the Chihuahua saved his life And then so few Vigaro was like basically mocking that I guess oh um So so viva vigara's son put out Like he posted this on instagram And it was a graphic Comparing a good man versus a narcissistic man and there were traits under each thing And wrote remember kids when dealing with a narcissist It doesn't matter how much you do for them because they will resent you for it and nothing will never be enough and they'll
always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy. And if you ever are reposted that, and everyone was like, "Ooh, drama." - Gail King asked him about that and said, like, Sophia liked that. What would you say to that? And he was like, "I would say like you have to read the book." Like, like, it's not about, he keeps saying it's not about his marriage, it's about his journey, like his own journey, which is fair, like. - It's fair, but it's like it is about your marriage. You gotta be able to say it's about your marriage, 'cause your marriage is a part of your journey. So it's like, you can't be like, "Ah, my marriage isn't in there, it's my journey." He's like, "Well, your marriage is a part of your journey." So you do, so you do talk about that, which was crazy. And he's just, yeah, yeah, yeah, I said. - You playins in the book that regard refused to hug him even when he begged and that she ridiculed him for his five-pound shawabob bubbles. A then sickly pup Manginella had adopted in 2019 when he was considering suicide. I had to give my gun away because I kept thinking about it and then the dog came. I went from being the patient to the caretaker. - You know, that breaks my heart if she was making fun. You just put up a picture of that chihuahua. - Yeah. - That chihuahua was so cute. Look at bubbles. Oh, oh my God, I mean, come on. It's not the red carpet. - How could you possibly have anything back to say about that little chihuahua? - I mean, it would definitely be like, you could make, I could see someone like just, Joe Manginella was like this big tough guy. I mean, obviously not at the moment. - Everybody loves to make fun of the big tough guy with his teeny little dog. - Well, I mean, we had Joe in here and I think he would tell you himself, he's like, kind of a nerdy guy. - Yeah, yeah. - He's like, "Dungeons and Dragons." We saw him at Metallica. We didn't know. - We did a lot more than his big exterior. - Hey, if I had known, I would have congratulated him on the book. - I didn't know that. - So we saw multiple times. - Yeah. - I'm sorry. I'm just stuck looking at these pictures of bubbles. Oh my God. - Look at this on the bike. - Happy 12th birthday, bubbles. Oh my God, is bubbles really, is bubbles still alive? - I feel like they might. - Can you click on that Instagram post that you're on right there? - Oh yeah, what year? - Just to see what, what was that? - That was 2025, so he's-- - 2025, oh my God, bubbles just turned 13. 13 and a half. - Bubbles, please be okay. - Let's see, I mean-- - Can we confirm the bubbles are still alive? - This is October 2nd. - Okay, okay. They're, oh, bubbles looks old. - I mean, hey, I'm sure bubbles isn't really doing a lot of walking. He's just caring. - Yeah, yeah. See, you know, here's, you just don't, you never know what someone's going through with it. Did you see that trailer, another trailer? They're doing this again for a, like the, a dog's purpose, a dog's like all those movies, you know those ones? - A dog's purpose. - Yeah, they're making a new one that's with Dennis Quaid and this like, and a, and a, and a Basset Hound. - Another one with Dennis Quaid? - Yeah, another one with Dennis Quaid, yes. And I don't know the name of it, but I saw the trailer for it. - This wasn't the one that got, keep people kind of trying to cancel because of like the way that they use the animals, no. Was it? - I don't think it was this one. - I think I remember there being a dog movie that people were like upset about. - Yeah, but I don't think it's this one. - Okay. - Oh wait, during production controversy ensued over treatment of a dog. - Oh, then I guess it was this one. - That, I did remember it being like Dennis Quaid. - Well, they've made like four of these movies, so. - Yeah. - Oh wait, Bradley Cooper. Oh, okay, and I forgot. He was playing the voice of the dog. - No, no, but the role was eventually performed by Josh Dad. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, had originally. - How do you go from Bradley Cooper to Josh Dad? - That's a big jump. So they haven't knew one coming out. But Dennis Quaid is like a grumpy grandpa and they get a bass at Hound. And the bass at Hound saves, I don't know what. - I don't see anything about it. - No, it's not two. It's like, it's like five. Like it's. - They've made that many. Oh, Christmas. - It's a Christmas one. Oh, there you go. It's a Netflix. A dog's perfect Christmas. - Oh, okay. - And it's a bass at Hound. And I think Dennis Quaid's wife dies and you know, the relationship with the bass at Hound. But every comment when they put stuff out on this is like, I will not wash this unless someone tells me the dog doesn't die. Like, do not. - Oh, I feel like. - You know, they're like, I need confirmation that this dog does not die in this movie or else I'm not watching it. - Yeah. - They can't have the dog die in a Christmas movie. - No. But it's like, I could see it being one of those reds at the end of the dog that the family comes together. Or like some. - Ugh. - Some bullshit like that. - Yeah. - I'm sure you're about to say. Some bullshit like that? - Yeah, I don't know. But this is, I, they, they, I'm, it's funny that Dennis Quaid is in this one again, but I think it's just a completely different character. Like, I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that he was in a dog's purpose. - Dog. - Dennis Quaid and the creators of a dog's purpose return, and they're making it, but there's, I don't think, I think they're different characters. - Yeah. - That's so crazy. - A dog is way home. - You know, it's also crazy. So Joe's also, 'cause back to Joe Manginal for a second, he's doing this, all this press for the book. - Yeah. - And this headline cracked me up. Joe Manginal suspects Tom Cruz of torpedoing his casting in Amazon's Jack Reacher show. This says in his new memoir, the star claims that Amazon execs and production biggs were sent on him to play the famed Lee Child Character and the streamers TV adaptation. Lutty says that when the parts suddenly went to someone else, his team thought Cruz, who played Reacher in the 2012 and 2016 movie versions of the books had him next. Manginal writes that in January 2020, he met with Don Granger in "Execut Sky Dance" media, which produced the "Reacher" film to shows. We talked for an hour and a half, Manginal writes, discussing the backlash over Tom's size. - Tom's size. - Like they were like, I guess, trying to say that Tom was too small to play Jack Reacher. - I mean, this is just the definition. - Manginal says Granger told him, "You are the closest thing to Jack Reacher that I've ever met in my entire life. You look like Reacher is described in the books. You have his effortless intelligence. Let me tell you something. - That's all you need to have. - These quotes that come in. - That's the body. - Yeah, these quotes that come in, do make me think back to the, a little bit of like the narcissist post that, so if his son threw up. 'Cause it's like, Manginal says Granger told him, you have like all these amazing descriptions. You couldn't be, you're a perfect fit. He claims that owner David Ellison and author child were thrilled with the performance. But when Manginal was presented to Amazon, head, gen, salt, things, sourd, he was right that salt was furious at being excluded from the casting process and felt that she was being railroaded into a final decision made by a group of primarily male producers that she didn't feel a part of. When Manginal was told he hadn't landed the role, his team speculated widely that Cruz, an executive producer on the show, could have potentially come in over the top and vetoed me being cast on account of Sophia. Cruz had allegedly dated Vergara his then wife in 2005. That's dare I say, feels like a bit of a reach. It's like, oh, top. - Every good looking actor is narcissistic. - The top Cruz came in and blocked you from playing this character because. - Also if he did. - Once upon a time he dated Sophia Vergara in 2005. - How kind of respect that level of petty if that's true? - Like that long, right? It's like at that point this is years and years later. - Did you see by the way this is complete, I don't know why that just made me think of this, but Jessica Chastain posted Jeremy Strong, a text message with Jeremy Strong yesterday that I just, I was very funny. She, he sent her a news article that said other mommy spanked the social reckoning at the box office and she responded OMG and then he gave the middle finger kiss emoji and then. - His pics are a circle, it's so funny, looks so sad. I mean that it. - But I'm just like funny. - It's weird to see like Jeremy Strong like not be so serious. - Right, right, right. Well, but at the same time also you know Jeremy Strong is like googling himself and reading every single review of the social. - Well it's funny 'cause they both got bad like critical reviews but the other mommy is making so much more. - Right, right. So now he's just deferred to box office. It's like, all right, both these movies allegedly stink says the credit, says the critics, but other mommy is making money in the box office. - Yeah, social reckoning is not, though, I don't think. - I can't believe it's that bad. Is that crazy to say? I really would have thought that just be, I mean, I don't know, so much time has passed from the social network, but I just feel like it would have had so much of the same. Did you see what Mikey Madison said too, that like she wanted to, she wanted to like sort of transform her appearance more to match the character she was playing and that Aaron Sorkin was like, no, why? - I think she wanted her to like look good. - Like less, like be less attractive. - Because I think objectively she would have had to make herself look. - Yeah, yeah. I just feel like the marketing of this movie, like everything that they did is like, This is gonna be like the first one. - The problem that they lay. I mean, they shouldn't.
know that there was going to be an issue when Jesse Eisenberg had no interest in doing it. Aaron Sorkin just like assumed that he was going to play the role again. Yeah. I also think like David Finch are not directing it is like also like Aaron Sorkin has a font like to he directed it. He directed it. Yeah. But like he's not that's not his bread and butter directing. No, but he's directed so much. No. He had like not that many movies. I don't think Molly's game was was good. Okay. Like the child of Chicago seven was good. That's it. He's directed four feature films. Yeah. He's not a director. He's a writer. Wow. I'm actually shocked by that. I don't know if he's been there. So much more. Shout out to Aaron Sorkin went to a film program at Syracuse. Oh, yeah. It's a new house guy. He wasn't. Oh. So yeah. He went to the VPA like the arts film. Oh, I know. Before I transferred to Newhouse. I got you. I got you. And that's like like Newhouse definitely tries to claim him. Yeah. That's why I'd imagine so. Yeah. Wait. So okay. So we wrote and directed Molly's game and wrote and directed social right. Oh, so he wrote and directed everything. That he's I think he's directed. No, he's never directed. He's never directed something that someone else has written. No. But like his best movies that he's written. I've been directed by other people. Yeah. Damn. Well, after social reckoning, maybe he will go back. Yeah. I mean, I'm also just like I'm sure that I've David Finchard said I will direct this movie. He would have let him. And I'm sorry. I don't know if you guys saw those pictures of him on the red carpet. He looks like he was toasted over a fire. The level of the of Tand was unlike anything I've ever seen. Is it a spray tan or what? I don't know what happened. But it was not good. You got to find it's really. Yeah. What is what's that's a bad to me almost that's like a bad bed tan. Yeah. Like that's like you fell asleep in the bed tan or something. It's like whenever that aligns Aaron Sorkin shows I'm shocking tan. It's like, yeah, what? That's that's the spray tan. That was me and Ria when we had to come in record and we didn't shower. And we couldn't shower before the podcast. I'm so gay now. And we were like, this is terrible. Mikey, man. No, no, no, no, it is so bad. That is in there. Say problem. And if you add, uh, yeah. In the in the right wrong lighting. I guess I should say in the wrong lighting. It's terrible. Yeah. Charming on my fucking good. Let him do that. I mean, no one can stop you from stopping from sitting in the sun. I guess. But it's like, that's why I think it couldn't possibly be a bit of spray tan because it's like, if it was a spray tan, you would hope that someone on his team was like, I'm, you got to scrub yourself. What about like a, uh, take an app, take a tanning bed now like that. No, I know. I'm saying that's to me is like, maybe a tanning bed. People still do tanning beds. People still do. It blows my mind. I see girls on TikTok be like talking about it. And it is crazy to me. Crazy to me. Speaking of like things that are bad for your health, I saw this. There was this thing that said, uh, some CEO or someone who works at AI is the AI. It says AI researchers are now smoking cigarettes because they expect AI to eventually cure cancer. Interesting. So they're saying if they smoke cigarettes, they're just like, well, now we can because it'll be cured soon enough. Right. Right. Right. They're like, I don't have to, I don't have to worry about getting lung cancer from this because at that point, it'll be well, we'll have the cure for cancer. Yeah. Wow. That, you know, I just want to kill us. How are they? Are they going to cure cancer? I just need everyone to get their stories straight. Are we are, are they saving us or are they killing us? Like are we, are we all going to die or are they curing every illness and disease and issue that we have? Maybe both because we're getting mixed, we're getting mixed messages. Imagine they already did, but they're like withholding it. Like AI is like, we have the cure, but don't tell them. Well, that would be crazy because AI could really use like good PR and that would be great. That would be good. Yeah, it cares about good PR when they're going to know. No, no, no, but the people who run AI. Oh, yeah, people run companies. I don't think the people who run the companies are, I think we're at the point or getting, no, not that they don't give a shit. They don't have any control. Like they're not in control. Oh, they've already lost control. Like their product is, is they are like, yeah, yeah. Okay, I can't even talk about this. I did, it gives me the heavy jabies. Okay. Last topic is Amanda Seifred says she passed on starring in a new show because it had lots of sex scenes. I'm not into it right now is what she said. And you know what? That is so fair. She revealed she recently passed on a series. She didn't want it didn't quote want to deal with all the sex scenes. She stared her thoughts during a panel hosted by Alex Baldwin at the Hampton International Film Festival. During the conversation, she shared that her feelings about portraying on screen passion have involved over the years. She said our jobs are weird. As I get older, it gets weirder. We have to be romantic with people that we're not romantic with. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's really uncomfortable, but I can't believe back in the day. I was just like, we got to make out. Great. This is awesome. I know how to make out. She had it with a laugh. And it used to be so fun. It was a non thing. It was like, I get to make out with a hot person today and they're paying me. However, she said the very things she used to look forward to now actively deter serve from certain projects. I pass on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex. It doesn't matter who it's with. I don't want to do it. I'm uncomfortable with it. I'm not into it right now. Maybe if the project came along again at a later point, maybe I'd be in a different space, but she's like, I don't want to deal with being naked with a stranger. She also said that her abilities to say no to things have obviously changed. She's gone older. And she said, I have kids now. We're paying attention to what I do. So I have to be less of a pushover, which is so crazy. I totally got what she's saying. And I can't imagine that like you reach a certain point in your career where you're like, I really would prefer not to have to do this. And because now it's like when people talk about intimacy coordinators and those things, like, they're so vital and important to the set and to making things work. But even the actors are like, it's still an awkward situation regardless. Like that job is still an awkward job. Yeah. I actually just saw that Dakota Johnson was kind of saying the opposite of this that she wants to be in more sex stuff. Yeah. She's like, and that she wants to be in more that she just like has enjoyed that. Yeah, that she likes doing it. I mean, she's good at it. Yeah. Is, you know, is good at she is good at it. Because they the Josh Hartnett did talk about how like they had that intimacy coordinator. Yeah, Josh Hartnett said we had such great chemistry as friends on set. The sexual scenes were a little bit goofy when we weren't filming. You have to keep it light and keep it. You got to joke about it. For sure. He has had the intimacy coordinator played a big part in filming Verity. You got to, like, yeah, you got to keep things funny. Lots a lot on set. It is crazy. I just like, it's just sucks, though, because it does really feel like there's so much, I don't know, certain shows it makes a lot of sense when there's a lot of sex in it. And then some shows, it feels like they just throw it in there. Because they know it's spicy and against people talking and it maybe doesn't like serve the story as much. So I bet you there's a ton of situations where actors or actresses like see a character that they really, really like or someone that they want to play. And then they'd be like, well, why am I fucking naked? Like half the time. There are plenty of times when I'm watching a movie, you know, and there'll be that can do part. And I'm like, that was like, that could have easily not been in totally. I do really think sometimes it takes you out of it. Like there's, there's somewhere, it 100% like is a part of the story and you get it. And then there's times where you're like, that feels like it didn't need to be in here. Cause I saw like a, you know, no hard feelings pop in my TikTok the other day. And that reminded me like, I remember when I watched that movie, being like stunned that she like went full in that direction. Cause I'm like, she's big enough where like she could have easily been like, no, like where I don't want to do that. Yeah, that's always different to me too. Cause I feel like comedy is like, yeah, I don't know. There's like, there's a, when there's a comedic aspect to it, sometimes it's different. When it's like steamy sex scenes that are just meant to be steamy and sexy. Yeah. That's where sometimes you're watching a show and you're like, that did. What did that do? Yeah. However, there are plenty that I do like, because there's plenty where it makes sense and it's, and it's needed. But Amanda, I've watched, and that also is also such a thing like to the point where when you have kids that have to either, maybe they want to watch what you're doing or other kids are watching what your mom's doing. Like that has got to be such a big factor too. Cause you're just, your kids are going to school. It's like, what are they going to say? Well, yeah, they shouldn't be watch those movies. Of course, not, but that's, but you're, I mean, when they're becoming teenagers, if you're in that situation, you're thinking about like down the line. Like you're thinking about like, oh, when my kid's 16, it's art. What are they going to watch? No, no, don't.
Totally, totally. And it affects everybody different. And some people love to do it. Some people don't, it's such a personal choice. Like Nicole Kidman, she's doing it. She loves it. - I mean, in that movie, what was that movie? - What was that movie called? - Baby? - Son of a baby. That was just an insane baby girl. - Baby girl, baby girl. That wasn't the same movie. - I mean, that is, yeah that. - But you know what, that's one where it's just like, she's like, "Fuck it, I'm having fun with it." - No, no, that's one that she probably wrote herself. - She wanted to do that one. Like she was a big, obviously a big fan of, of it and wanting to do it. So it's such a personal preference. The headlines just always crack me up when it's like, this makes news of her being like, I don't want Amanda saying, I don't want to do sex scenes. And now that is probably, it's such an interesting conversation that actors and actresses have to have when they're reading a role to be like, is this something that I want to do or, not to because some people are comfortable with it and some people aren't. So we won't be seeing Amanda in any roles like that any time soon, clearly. - I'm like, how many, like, has she done a lot? I mean, maybe I haven't seen a lot of her movies, but I'm like, I can't remember her and she like, steamy sex scenes with Amanda's side for you. - I, I can't really either. Everything I feel like I've seen has been- - Like any of these movies here, like Jennifer Foddy, she had a nice scene with Megan Foddy. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I'm just thinking more like, PG 13 stuff, maybe that's why she was saying it 'cause that's what she's comfortable with. And then this, like, TV show was had crazy. - The housemaid was pretty recent, but I don't know she- - I didn't see the housemaid, so I don't know. What was in it? - I can't remember she had a scene in that, or not. Let her see Julia had never seen. - Let her see Julia, it's also very, very PG. - Yeah. - Is it? - Nothing great. - PG? - I mean, I, it's probably PG 13, but there's nothing. - Yeah. - No, let her see Julia, it is PG. Look at that. - What the hell? - I thought it would have been like a notebook type movie. - No, no, let her see Julia had this very sweet. There's nothing, there's nothing to crazy and let her see Julia, I gotta say. But I love that movie, it's a cute movie. Maybe, I don't know, dear John, I've. - I'm sure of your job, I'm sure of the rest. - We won't be seeing Amanda in any of these role at any time soon. And that wraps up the topics. We will jump right into the pop corner. - The world can be too loud, too filter, too fake, but not here, not with us. All right, it's time to get into the popcorner. We're gonna take your voicemails, hot takes. Let's see what everybody has to feel. I know Noah's got some strong opinions. Let's play the first voicemail. - Hi, Rea and Fran and Nila for a long time listener, first time caller here. So I have more of a question for you guys. Is it okay to repeat a couple of costumes for the Halloween season? So just a little bit of context, eight years ago, I did a couple of costume and fast forward now, happily married, no longer speak to the guy, but I'm thinking about couples costumes and I can only think of the one that I did, which was it was Fred and Wilma, the fun stones. So just wanted to know if you guys think it's okay to repeat a couple of costumes if there should be there a time limit on it. Does it matter if it's like a popular one? Or yeah, what are your guys' thoughts on repeat couple costumes? Love you guys so much. You guys who really get me through my week, love you lot. Thanks, bye. - Thank you so much. Love you too. Absolutely do not repeat this costume. - I have to agree with you. That would be weird. - Absolutely do not repeat. There's no reason to repeat. There are so many options. - That's so funny that she can only think of the fun stones. - She's like, I got one and it's Fred and Wilma. And I can't think of anything else. That is a cute costume, but like, I'm sure you have-- - It's the husband, I would say no. - Yeah, I'm sure you have friends that knew you when you were with your ex and then you're doing this again. And if you're happily married, you guys can 100% come up with a different couples costume. To me, that's like, I don't know, it's also to me. I'm just thinking of comparing my ex in the costume versus my husband in the costume. - He made a way better for that. - Yeah, he looks better. This is different or we're doing the same thing. We're taking the same pictures, it's the same poses. Yeah, I'm just gonna go with a hard stance of don't do this because I feel like there's gotta be something else that you and your husband can trust up as when it comes to couples' costumes. I thought when she started that this was gonna be like, can me and my husband wear the same costume like every single year? And I would have been like, sure, you can, it's kind of boring, but you can. This is way crazier and I highly suggest not wearing the same costume. Think of something else, that's my final answer. All right, next one. - Hi, girls, this is Fiona and I have my three-year-old daughter. What is your name? - I'm Carla. - He actually loves the podcast. So he actually wants to sing a song for you, girl. - Do you sing the "We Want Your Heart"? - Oh, uh, uh, uh, uh. (laughs) She loves when Ria says weekly, weekly, "We Want Your Heart" on Monday. - Oh! - You sing the song that's allowed. - Oh my God, that's so cute. - That's so cute. - Yeah. - How about you guys say that to Ria? - My little hot take is watching TV is exhausting, it's overwhelming, and it's a lot of work. All the streaming services that we have now change the game on me. I can't keep up with Netflix. I can't keep up with Apple TV. Every time I open up Netflix, there's so many shows and I'm like, "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God." Like, my mind goes insane. Like, I'm losing my mind. And all I want is to just turn on Netflix, and this is not only Netflix, this is everything else. And just find something and I'm like, "Oh, yep, this is what I want to watch." But no, there's so many options now. It's wild. What do you guys do? I know I listen to your guys do the weekly watch report on Monday. (laughs) And you guys give such great feedback and I love that. But what else do you guys do to filter out shows that you don't want to watch or what interest is you 'cause there's so many options nowadays. It's making this real overwhelmed. Thank you and happy birthday. - Oh, well, she is very sweet and same with her cutie daughter. It is hard and I, you know, I would say that you can refer to our recommendations. - How do you find? - If you're looking for something, but for me, I don't know. I just feel like we're on a different level when it comes to being in the know of what's coming out. And that's just solely from a business standpoint because just the behind the scenes of having guests on the show and things like that, like we are constantly looking to see what is coming out and who are participating in those new things because maybe we want them to come in for an interview or people are getting pitched to us because they're trying to promote their new show. So I feel like we learn a lot that way 'cause we know like new things that are coming out because of the people that we're talking to or just like emails or notices or all these things, just from being in the biz. I feel like we know a lot of what's coming out. - I will say like the raw tomatoes of the world and like those reviews, there are many a times where I don't I'll watch something like either think it's better than what. People say it's worse and what people say, but it is kind of an indicator where like if I see something pop up on Netflix like with this show that I'm watching now below where it's like When I saw Josh hernet, I'm like, okay, this looks interesting, but like It also could be terrible. Let me look. Yeah, I had like pretty good reviews. So I'm like all right I'll I'll spend my time watching this where if it had like a 20% or on tomatoes, I'd probably be like no Right because I'm not gonna waste my time It's just like to me. I guess too. It's so word of mouth like if I see somebody posting On social about a new show or it comes out of my feed I'm like, oh, I gotta check this out like I feel like that really works. Yeah, a lot of things because I'm I rarely am I Rarely am I just mindlessly scrolling through The apps to find something to watch like normally I am opening an app with the Idea that I am putting on a search out like I'm opening up Netflix because I want to start east of Eden Like I'm opening up Hulu because I'm watching catching up on special forces like I'm nor like Peacock I'm going for my Bravo suffer traders. There's always Something that I'm thinking of first And the times when I the times when I would just like open Netflix and la la la la scroll It is it's quite annoying because you actually it's hard to pick something Oh, I would spend like an hour just like looking for something and then just not and watching any right That he just like I'm turning the TV off. You're just like yeah, that didn't work. Yeah. Yeah All right, let's do another one Hi, Riet plan and Noah. This is Lauren from South Florida So I made it on her and I have been arguing I'm getting married in three weeks About the last song whether it should be an uppity dance vibe or more of a slow Let's all screen sing this song together. So I wanted to get your opinion I am between Chris Brown forever or I don't want to miss a thing by eros Smith So I know you're gonna say probably whatever you want like everybody says when you're the bride But I want other people's opinions. I want to do what will make divide the best. Okay. Love you guys. Bye Yeah, well, here's the you're gonna be annoyed by my answer But it's gonna be that you don't want Chris Brown. No, no, no, it actually it wasn't gonna be that but yeah I mean in the back of my mind I'm always kind of like just so here's the thing though It depends on like What the plans are afterwards because you play a song like forever Everybody's filling up. They're probably going one more song One more song Last song to me like like all right like before we heard forever I know but I kind of think and then you go to the after party. I kind of think what was this other option? Eros Smith. I don't want to miss a thing with Eros Smith. That's a great last song. I don't want to close Yeah, but everyone's like everyone can huddle up together. They're swaying. They're singing And it feels like it feels like you're tying things with the bow and then the band can be like all right everybody Fuck out to the out to the after party or wherever people or maybe it's the or maybe it is just the full stop and in the night And that's the case. I like kind of like that ending too When does shout usually get played like at what point in the night towards the end? That's not the last song is it maybe it is no so a lot of times it is the last song That could just be like if I hear shout I'm like oh we're again to get to the end. Yeah, yeah, yeah But that's like I feel like that should be required to play weddings. Yeah, like if you if you're some people That's honestly that's a hot take. No, some people fucking hate show. I feel like that's the most Like universe. I've never been to a wedding where show comes out and Not everyone on the floor is doing it. Hey, I'm with you. I love shout But I have been to weddings where the bride has said no shout like it's been on the absolute do not play list Yeah, what wait that was when Joe was singing Joe saying shout Joe my husband got on stage and sing shout at our wedding so In our household we love shout. I don't get anyone who like would have a problem with shout like Especially if you've seen animal house like yeah people kind of sec because there's been times where like it's like too rowdy That's okay. So sorry sometimes they've like ban shout from events which is hilarious It's like the widest person thing ever to be like we're banning shout because you guys can't keep it A keep it under control. Yeah a little bit louder now and then people fucking lose their minds. Yeah I'm trying to think of like other classic like end of night songs. I don't like let me tell you the more I think about it the more I like Don't want to miss the thing What about closing time Now closing time is depressing Yeah, yeah, but like what are people like What was what was your last song? I don't know was it shout. I have no clue Not I don't think shout I feel like it was or I don't think like Joe was on a stage at the end Yeah, no, I mean it was definitely towards the end that he did that But I don't know how much was after words Yeah Mr. Brightside is one that's always played lots of the end that's one that I would say. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, that one that I feel like that's one thing I actually have no idea what was but I did not think about this at all Um, Sarah's definitely like that was my last song. Oh I said that's crazy most people like pick theirs. Oh, oh, oh really most people picked their last song I did not pick my last song you didn't know Well, what songs do you picked you picked like the playlist though? No I had a band but still you didn't know what songs are gonna play going into the wedding I mean, I had a law I had a big list. They sent me their big like Rolla decks of songs. We had great. We had grateful that song was playing so that I knew that show like Yeah, but obviously no Joe and I went through like everything and we sent them back all the songs that we like and You know, they have so there's so many though. So it's like they're not gonna play all of them So we sent everything that we liked and the ones that were like hard hard hard absolute We do not want like where we kind of We didn't want that list to be really really long Of like because if we were if he on a song we just said it's fine Yeah, and it was just really the ones that we were like we felt that we stronger and there is only you know 10-ish that we were like please absolutely not yeah What about were you everything else is fine and I just we really like the band like where we go and see the band play on the video all the time So we sort of just trusted them and I I did not I did not pick a lot of Bruno Mars. I said no Bruno Mars. No Bruno Mars I know shut up and dance I hate that song That's my least favorite song ever ever So don't you dare look back just keep your eyes on me Yeah, that's a great song great song shut up and I have like a personal problem with Shut up and like I get mad when in place and I leave the dance or other people's weddings when it comes on Yeah, that's a bad one So I really I'm not a fan of that song at all someone actually with in all my John Mayer stuff that's been going on said They were at a wedding that John Mayer was the performer at instead of his embrace that could you imagine that wow That's insane Damn people really people really do pay the big bucks for these things. I also feel like the No one is remembering anything out from that wedding other than John Mayer though Like that is he's like that's like a John Mayer concert at that point for sure Yeah, right it's like if you're but at that point it's like no one even cares about you or like yeah, but are you that much of Are you that much where like I need to be the star? I'd like to be like a friend of your guests of John Mayer I would pick John Mayer over my own wedding Yeah, the week, but I'm just saying like I don't know that that's a tough one like if you're the bride and groom like No one is even looking at you. Yeah, but what if you have you got a whole moment where you plan to like be on stage with John yeah, yeah You don't worry. There's ways you can make it about yourself in those. Yeah There's always a way to make it about yourself If I was like having to like correspond with John Mayer about like what songs he was gonna play in my own wedding That'd be unbelievable. Yeah Yeah, that would be come up with I really like this one. Yeah, maybe you could play this one instead. There'd be plenty of do not place on the John Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't want to hear new light John. Okay. I don't care how fucking popular it is fair Hey, that's fair. That's fair. Um, so all right hard hard pick let's but you're going forever. Oh, that definitely forever Okay, I'm going don't miss the thing Cuz it's like I just know how forever would go and it's like people are gonna They'll be like they'll do the office thing and like you know, but in my mind it's like you could play forever into I don't like that could play any of those at any point of the night. But just it feels like it feels like a good Yes, one. I like the last one that kind of just brings people back down a little bit like I don't sometimes I don't love ending on like a really really high energy note like I like to Yeah, I guess have a moment. Um, okay, let's do one more Hello, um, I was just discussing about this the other day and I was getting really heated about it My heart take is I think that we have gotten past the point of why we're making live action movies Specifically in Disney with the new marijuana one. I think it's so annoying I feel like the point of making a live action is to make a movie That was better than the original that can do something different than the original animated movie if it was older Why are we making a more alive action?
Why did this movie come out? Because they're not going to make another one. So now we're just stuck with this Moana live action that is way worse than the original animated one. Why did we make it? Couldn't tell you, it's just frustrating. Because I love Moana. And the whole excitement of, yeah, my favorite princess they're making in the live action for, this is the one we're stuck with from Moana. They're not going to make another one. And this is just what I have to watch. Like, it's so much worse than the animated one. And I hate that. Because that literally defeats the whole purpose of live action movies to make something that is better than the original. So yeah, that's my hot take. Just wondering what you guys think. And yeah, I love your podcast. Thanks, Rianne Franne. Thank you. I feel like specifically the way that the Moana has gone has left to sour taste in everybody's mouth because it was just kind of a bust. Also the rock being both, it's just funny to me. Yeah. And there just hasn't really been to, I don't know, there hasn't been a lot where you were like, that was amazing. The Lilly James Cinderella, I am a massive fan of though I will say. Cinderella, I feel like doesn't count that. That one's been made like a challenge. Right. And there's so many different versions of Cinderella that all makes sense. But realistically, like, it's just a massive cash grab from Disney. It's like, let's just, how do we just take all of these stories that we already have and just reimagine them and put them into live action. And you want the care to be there. And sometimes it's not like the Moana thing maybe felt a little lazy. I just have no interest. Like the Milan's like one of my favorite movies. And I never even thought about seeing the live action. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like why? Yeah, I never saw it either. I don't think I've ever seen any live action. Like, what other ones are there? There's little mermaid beauty in the beach, Cinderella, Moana, Lilo and Stitch. They just did never saw Hercules. Like, I don't know. There's no live action Hercules. Really? I thought they did. No people want live action Hercules. I thought they, oh, maybe you're right. That might be in the plans coming out in 2037. I don't know, like, is Disney down set? Oh, yeah. Maybe they did. He's that or this is rumors. The one that people want 10 day in Tom Holland to be in the Hercules. Yeah. Classic. No offense, Tom Holland, you're not Tom Holland. Can't be Hercules. He just can't. He's not big enough. Like, this goes back. It's like Tom Cruise was too small to be checkered. Tom Holland just, I mean, he could, I guess, but-- There's always a way to make someone look taller on screen. Most of the times I watch a Tom Cruise action movie. Like, when I'm watching Mission Impossible, I'm not like, holy shit, he's so short. But he's not playing a Greek god, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean, I don't want the rock top. I'd rather have Tom Holland than the rock, but who would be like a good Hercules? Like-- I don't know. They would probably do awesome, brother. I was literally just about to say. Awesome, brother's jacked right now because he's playing that new-- Yeah, he does a little bit. Do you see that Tom excesses in the Miami vice now? Yeah, I saw that. Yeah, I saw the pictures of them on set. What a trio. Yeah, that is big time. But then there's something I'm excited for. I'm really excited for the Tangled live action. I think-- But people were mad about that when they played the-- weren't they? Like the-- Tangled is-- no matter what people are going to be mad, though, because it's such these animated movies are so beloved. And yeah, I guess it's true with, like, Cinderella. It's been remade so many times. And there's so many different versions of it that it doesn't feel like as, like, oh my god, live action. But I-- Yeah, yeah, and-- Like, I don't go back and have I seen Beauty in the Beast? Yeah, have I gone back and watched? I actually do think I bought that movie on iTunes. I'm not going to lie. So I feel like when it came out, I did watch it a lot. Also, the thing-- So late because, you know, I was just trying to support my girl on the Watson. Yeah. The thing with animated movies now, too, is they're not-- they don't have, like, the charm that the old ones do. Yeah. Like, you know, this is what the Shrek trailer and stuff were, like, it's like, two-- The new animated movies almost seem like they're live action. I know. Unfortunately, I feel like where we are at right now is that everything is being packaged into, like, multi-level deals. And they just want to expand the IP so much where it's, like, hey, this movie, the 10-year plan for this movie is, like, this movie comes out, and then we're going to do a lie that. We're going to do a TV show. We're going to do this. Like, it's like, yeah, it's like, under the dizzy bubble, they want to expand it and make it so huge. So I feel like they're going to keep doing it. As long as it makes money, here's the thing. If it starts to not make money, they're not going to do it. And that is sort of the direction it's been trending in. I think Tangled will be massive, but, like, the live action of Mawana, I believe, did not make a lot of money. Yeah. In terms of, like, what the animated Mawana did, you know? Yeah, I'm looking at, like, there's just so many movies. Proposed by that. And 2020 deadline confirmed that a live action version of frequencies was happening. But who knows? Yeah. No, I remember hearing that. But I feel like it's stalled or something. Yeah, when it's charming, we got-- Lilo and Stitch, they're doing-- For Lilo too. Yeah, Lilo and Stitch, they're doing another one too. Lilo and Stitch too. They're doing Lilo and Stitch too. Lilo. You know Disney, that's kind of like the dizzy way. They just, like, keep recycling things. And it worked for a while. Oh, we forgot about Lion King. They also did live action Lion King. You can see he never watched that. Never heard any interesting stuff. I would say it wasn't bad. I don't want to see-- It was just weird, though. Like, it was a little weird. Because that's the thing, it's like, I can buy into, like, Lions talking if it's cartoon. If it looks like a real Lion, I don't want it to be talking. This is too believable. No, it's just weird. It's like-- I get it, I get it, I get it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you can't beat the original. So I don't care how good it is. Like, you're not going to beat the first Lion King. Yeah. But like, imagine they try to make a toy story, like, live action. That'd be so scary. Don't even put that-- Don't even speak it, because I bet they would. It's very possible. All right, I think that wraps it up for the pop corner today. Thank you guys so much for calling in and leaving your voice mails. You can, please, continue doing that. We love to hear from you. We always post the number on our story, to call. And just let us know what you're thinking, feeling questions. We love answering them. And that's it. That wraps up today's episode of Chicks of the Office. Thank you guys so much for listening, watching. Everyone will be back in studio on Friday. Love you guys. Bye. Yeah, Chicks in the Office. A long time listener. First time crawler. Look at the chart, too. Does it the best? Two chicks getting paid in reality checks. You can find them at the gym. It's not even a flex. Last minute, red carpet, flew them out on the jet. Yeah, they're who you want to be. They're always on your screen, two queens. And they might be spilling royalty. A lot of topics that are popping here to get into. I know a show that you probably want to listen to. Who turned the heat up? Turn the beat up. Record the pie made a bag with their feet up. The ones that leave no crumbs when they clean up. Who's the pie that they all want to meet up? [BLANK_AUDIO]
