What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran giving you that Friday energy on a Friday. Happy Friday, everybody, and happy birthday weekend, Francesca. Oh, shit. Hit those lights. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to Franny. I kind of like that. You were a little bit in a higher range. Yeah, I just didn't know which way I was going to go with it. But happy birthday to you. It's birthday weekend. Fran's birthday is this Sunday. She's got her Eagles gear ready. They play at 1 p.m. on Sunday. It's a little birthday gift. Hopefully, they freaking win. Are you listening to me, Jalen? You better win. Why do I always, when the lights come on, I start threatening the camera. No, you really do. The lights come on, and you pick someone to threaten. I didn't even know I was going to go after you. I didn't know I was going to go after Jalen Hurts like that. And you went first name. Just like, listen up, pal. Yeah, listen up, buddy. You better get your team in check. I mean, I know you won the first week. But it's our girls. No turnovers. None. Whatever that means. It's our girls' birthday, and you better provide a win. And I'm talking to the rest of the team, too. I mean, we know Jalen's great, but he can't do everything. He can't throw and catch. That's what they say. He can't throw and catch the ball. So, Eagles win. Junk joy tonight. Let's talk about it. Let's talk about the birthday weekend. Let's kill the lights. Fun weekend. They're playing in Nashville on Sunday, the Eagles. It's supposed to be really fucking hot. Like 100 degrees. You didn't want to head there for the birthday weekend? I thought about it for like 30 seconds. And then I went, who am I? That's not me at all. And who am I going to take with me? Joe's not going to want to do that. And it's our anniversary on Monday. So, it's like, we're in this chunk of five days where it's anniversary birthday. And I was like, that's not a fun trip for anybody. And it's supposed to be 100 degrees. So, that sounds kind of miserable. I'd much rather enjoy it from the comfort of my own home. I am wearing this shirt in honor of my dad because no one was more excited for this Eagles-Disney collab than I was. And teams got certain people. They weren't excited about the character they got. Maybe they love him. They don't. The Eagles got Dr. Doom. Which, objectively, you would maybe think that fans would be like, oh, Dr. Doom? Like, bad villain? You know? Like, maybe you don't love that. However, my dad, we have four years called him Dr. Doom solely because he is the guy who week one play drive numero uno. He's like, season's over, we stink, implode the team, fire everybody. He's always looking at, he's always like, it's over, we fucking suck. And we'd be like, all right, relax, Dr. Doom. And then when they came out, we said, oh my god, it's just for you. It's perfect. Just for my dad. So, yeah, that was good. I was very excited. And the collection sold out so fast. And what's so fun is we had a little bit of a Disney plug. And they sent us shirts for our teams. And I was the only one that was like, I really fucking want this. And somewhere in this office is my box. I don't know where. But it never made it to me. And she's so nice. When I told her I didn't have the box, she, like, scavenged around their office and found, like, one last T-shirt to send to me. And she, like, second aired it, which just, you know, made sure I had it for the first weekend. So kind. It was very, very, very nice. Well, are we going to talk about that? We're going to talk about the fact that the box arrived on the day of the. God, the box arrived on the day of the security day. Uber Eats. Uber Eats incident. So there's a lot going on at the front desk. Look, was it unfortunate when I asked Noah to double check the tracking and she sent this screenshot of it was signed for Monday, August 24th by Danny? I went, oh, no. Danny said, if I'm going to get hurt, I'm taking this with me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, that's. Yeah. And he would hate this shirt. Yeah. No, he's a Giants fan. Yeah. So he would hate everything. But he would hate everything about this. Yeah. But I am very excited for the weekend. I don't know. I don't know if it's just because, like, I keep forgetting it's my birthday. You had all this whole setup. It was so beautiful, beautiful for me when I walked in. And I was, like, genuinely surprised because, you know, like, we kind of kind of assume we're doing something for each other. We try to make sure there's something in here. And you always go above and beyond, which I greatly appreciate because I always feel spoiled. But I, like, I walked in. I was like, oh, my God. Really forgot. That's what makes it even better. I don't know if it's because my birthday's Sunday. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. And I honestly wish it was still on the table. We ate it all. You'll see it on trivia. Oh, yes. You will see it on trivia. Cranberry spread. Candy. It was fucking delicious. And we took. That was our lunch. Yeah. We took a big chunk of that bad boy where if it was on display now, they'd be like, oh. Wow. They really went in, huh? I ate that whole thing. I was joking. I was talking to Rhea when she was talking about what she was going to do for you. I was like, well, you guys didn't really do much for me last year for my birthday. Remember his 30 before 30? Oh, yeah. I actually. Cranberry looked at me like, what are you talking about? I actually dead serious. No, no, no, no. Because the sign's not behind me anymore? No, no, no. For a second, I quite literally thought, shit, did we do nothing for Noah's birthday? We went to Singapore. We literally went to Singapore for his birthday. I just forget when. We went across the entire world for this guy's birthday. That, to me, feels like that. It was five years ago. Oh, my God. I cannot believe it. It's almost a year, isn't it? I can't believe it. It doesn't feel like a year ago, though. Man, good times. No, I look back at it only fondly. Yeah, it was some good times. Some great stories that have never been told on the podcast. Only fondly. You know what? Maybe for your birthday this year, we tell the stories on the podcast. I don't see why we can't. No, I think we will. But we have to wait for your birthday so we can reminisce. It's a little one year later situation. Exactly. One year later. One year later. But no, I got. We just maybe laying low. We might go out Friday night, go see some friends. And I've talked about this. I say this every single year when it comes to my birthday. But it's like my birthday is the 20th. My friend Lauren is the 21st. My friend Catherine is the 22nd. So we always try and do some sort of combo situation or just like. Everybody's parents were busy in December, huh? Francesca Noel, you know? Yeah. Nick Jonas, Chase Stokes. Yeah. That's why there's so many September babies. And Debbie, my nephew, Mikey. New Year's. They're all this weekend. Christmas, New Year's. Everyone's feeling the love around the holidays. Think about there are so many September birthdays. I feel like there's the most. I know that's probably impossible. No, I think it is. I just feel like there's so many September birthdays. I think September is the most popular birthday month. Yeah. I wonder what. Like, is that. Can you find that out? No, I think that's a fact. It is? For August. No, that's just. They're just. August is the most common birthday month overall. Followed closely by July, September and October. I don't believe. August is number one. Oh, no. That says the August, September split. Yeah. It says August, July, October, September. That's for 2023. Interesting. I guess. I would. I feel like I maybe it's just personally. Yeah. So many more people. Yeah. I think it's just like around our own circles. It just feels like there's so many September babies. Trying to do the math. It's the same kind of thing. It's August is around. It's just the cold months when people got nothing. Thanksgiving, Halloween. They got nothing else to do besides. Have a little fun. But around that time, the three of us are all in the in the. I guess that makes sense. Then we are. We are. We're in the hot zone. Wow. Whoa. Wow. Our parents are so unoriginal. Also, my brother and sister are September and August. So it's like. Yeah. Yeah. My brother is September. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. There's obviously seems very popular. Sarah's last. Oh, look at that. The most common birthday is actually September. September 9th. In fact, nine of the ten most common birthdays in the US are in September. So then how would August be number one? How would August be number one? Because they just got a lot more. Yeah. No. I think. Well, yeah, I guess. No, like September 9th is just like, wow. It's the amount of people versus the amount of birth date. Like the actual birth date. Right. Yeah, it's like you could have a number one. But those should be the same. And zero are in August. No, it's like you could have a number one hit. You're a one hit wonder. So you actually have like that. But someone else is more Spotify listeners. because they have more songs that are good. You know, there's a weird analogy. I'm not following, but I want to. I want to understand. I don't know if I thought I don't. I'll be honest. I don't know if I'm following because it's like I understand you as we all. We all have birthdays. No, no, no. I'm saying that be a one to one ratio of like humans to birthdays. Well, I don't know what the fuck either of you are saying. And you know what? What I'm saying is someone could have a one hit that is more listened to than any song. If you were to take the year you were born and subtract it from 2026. You are talking to the wrong person. To the wrong person. Jason Mraz. Okay, South Park. Jason Mraz's I'm Yours might have more listens than any song John Mayer's ever put out. That's probably not even true. But John Mayer has more catalog. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, but I don't think. That comparison doesn't work for birthdays. We only have one. It's not like I have eight birthdays. No, but I'm saying. No, no. In this scenario, I'm just saying September 9th. It's just the people. The months are the people. Yeah, September 9th. Like September is John Mayer. No. No, no, it's not. No, August is Jason Mraz. No, August is John Mayer and September is Jason Mraz. No, that's not. I don't even know. That's correct. You know, I don't like this comparison. I actually think Noah's. I don't think Noah's analogy works. I just don't think it works. I think there's something there. Sarah's also not. She's shaking her head. It does not work. There's something there. No, because I'm saying like. But it's not quite worked out yet. August. Yeah, August would be John Mayer and September would be Jason Mraz. Whereas September only has one big hit. And that's why they're up. But it has nine big hits. No, no, September has nine. It has ten big hits. We only have one birthday. No, September has nine big hits. Oh, I didn't see the nine. Nine big hits. I thought it was only September 9th. Where it's like September 9th has so many that it catapults them to four. You take September 9th out. They're dropping down like to the lower. No. I don't think that's what it's like. No, there's nine of the ten. Nine big hits. You know what it is. Anyways, you'll be fucking people who are born in September. You want to know why I think I repeat myself so often? Like as a youngest child, sometimes it feels like no one's listening to you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so I, number one, feel like just with the internet these days, you have to like repeatedly say things. Yeah, or over explain yourself. Over explain or else it's taken. Yeah. Or the fact that I'm. I'm the youngest sibling out of three. And then I'm in a room right now. And then I just go, is anyone listening to me? Is that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Also, Olive is here and she's in her dog bed. Just letting everyone know it's A-OK. Should I pan over to Olive? Yeah, if you can. She freaking loves the Lola Blanket at home. Like all she lays right on on the couch. So it's like the bed is the exact same thing. You're basically at home. Yeah. You're just you're nice and cozy and getting all comfy and lounging. Yeah. You're just having a good time. And that's it. So, yeah, I'm excited for the birthday. I'm 32. I don't know. I'm stuck. Like now in my mind, I don't know if anyone else feels this way after turning 30. Like people ask me how old I am. I'm like 30. I just think I'm 30. I don't know when that's going to change. It's a big 3-0. But I just I'm like, I'm 30. Like if people were to ask me, I go through. I'm like, oh, I'm 30. Then I have to remind myself. No. 32. 32 is still so young. Yeah. 32. 32 sounds young. 32. Does it? Yeah, it does. Okay. I think it does. I'll take it. If anybody asks me, I'll probably just say 30. What? No, it's just a it's just a reflex. Like it's not 30. Like it's like because I'm just like, ah, 30. Right. I think I'm just like stuck in my wedding year, you know, where I'm just living the excitement of turning 30 and getting married. I'm like, I'm 30. Right. Hell yeah. Any anniversary plans? No. It's just kind of like now with all of it combined. We are going to do like we're going to do dinner at home on over the weekend. Beautiful. Which will be which will be really nice. Low key. But it's just like when you cram the milestones all in one thing, you kind of have to actually combine some of the celebrations because it's like, well, you've had one birthday dinner, then an anniversary dinner, then another birthday dinner. It's a lot. Yeah. So we're just birthday and anniversary combo. This weekend. And then Joe's birthday. And then Joe's birthday is the weekend after the 25th. Hell yeah. Yeah. So got a lot. Very exciting. Fun week. Fun week ahead. Yeah. Yeah. Hell yeah. Did I ever think I'd be going to see Harry Styles with my husband on his birthday? You didn't. Bro. I don't want to talk about what happened here with with this Harry Styles thing. What? I know. You know what? Maybe we shouldn't even be talking about it publicly. Probably not. But I'm going to try to sum it up really quickly. We were invited. To the Harry Styles concert. Yeah. By Harry. By. No, no, no. By a brand. By a brand. And it was the night of Joe's birthday. So Fran was like, no, because it's Joe's birthday. And then so then I was like, no, because it's Joe's birthday. However, in my email saying no, I was on the same email. They were different. They were different individual invites. So like when I wrote back, I said like, oh, it's my husband's birthday. Like dot, dot, dot. Unless there's a chance there. Like there's another. It's a ticket for him, you know? And then I wrote back being like, I have another. Sorry. I have another commitment. Yeah. Then Fran's like. And then I went to Joe and told him and he was like, wait, I want to go. So now. So now Fran and Joe are going. Why can't you just be like, oh, wait. Because I think at this point they're probably given away. And then I. Then it's like, OK, well. What a friend. I'm going to ask that. I would ask Matt to come. And now they might not have. So. So now I'm like, OK, I'm just going to take the take the loss here. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. I understand. Yeah. I'm also now. I think there's absolutely a world where you could have said like, like, could have been like, oh, I want my ticket. However, I then then it would have been you would have put yourself in a situation where you would have wanted Matt to be there as well. Yeah. And that's where we don't know if there's more because then they gave one to. So now it was a confusion where I was like, no, I can't go. It's just right. And I like made it a whole like now, you know, I was like, I need the plus one because it's his birthday birthday. This is a whole thing. Yeah. So but now I am moving. You're right. A few days after that. Actually, I wouldn't be able to do it now. I wouldn't even be able to go. Yeah. So even if you said yes, now I'm thinking about it. You would have probably had to know that. Yeah, exactly. So it actually it actually worked out for the best. You don't have a question. Speaking of Harry Styles in these shows. Well, it's like a conversation when he when he performed Sign of the Times. It's like, oh, tonight he did the high note. Like, yeah. Why is he not just doing that every night? Maybe he's saving his taxing on him. He's doing. But it seems like why doesn't Nick Jonas say red dress every time he does? Well, that's a good question. You know. That's a good question. I want to know that. But Harry, like we were watching Bridge Over Troubled Water. Like he has it in him. No, he has it. But maybe he's protecting himself. It's like he doesn't want to burn out for the high note. I don't know. I want to see that if I'm going. I want to see the high note, Harry. Here's the zip. It's like the same thing. It's like if you're at the show where you get the high note, it's like something special. Yeah, I guess. You know, it's a little extra guest. Now, you did just say you were moving and you I don't think you've confirmed 100 percent to the to the world that you have a date, an apartment. A date, everything. You're done. You actually have the whole place furnished. It's all done. It's all done. It's actually all done. I've never been more impressed. I could never work at the pace that you work. You were like, oh, yeah, I ordered everything. I'm like, that's it. Meanwhile, it takes me like 18 months and a designer to finish to finish a room. I will say Sarah before was like, you are an executor. And I said, yeah, there's no dilly dally. There's no waiting period. Like, you don't have the patience for it. It's like I'm doing this and I'm getting it all done. No. And it's actually a beautiful thing. That's where my lack of patience comes into handy for me because I I just get I just get things done. And I don't like waiting in the abyss. Like, it's like, oh, we might have to. We might move. We know we have to move. Yeah. So let's just get out there. You know what I mean? Like, really? Because then I'm going to be sitting around looking at this place said that I got to go soon. If I if if Joe and I were in your position and they were like, hey, you got to be out and my lease was up. What? What? Like January? Yeah. I wouldn't have even looked at an apartment until December 15th. Like, I wouldn't have. I can't work like that. Thought about it. Because you know why? Because the opposite side of that is I would be looking every single day until it was time. And then that would drive me nuts. Yeah. It would always be like, well, what if this is not? You're like thinking about the one that came up two months ago that you get. Yeah. And I'd actually I think everything happens for a reason. And we ended up finding a beautiful place. And we're so excited. And I think that's what, you know. Yeah. You know, things happen for a reason. And I think it worked out great. And we didn't settle on a place like it is so gorgeous and we love it. We that's why we started early because we were like, let's give ourselves time to look so that if we don't like the places, then we have time. Yeah. But just so happened that we found a gorgeous place that we're so excited about. So, yeah. So I'm moving. And the week after next week. Yeah. And well, then I was telling Fran earlier, I'm like, well, I already designed the whole place and and ordered. We ordered all the furniture and everything is delivering the day that we move in and everything's going to be done. And she was like, what? And I showed her picture. It looks what from what I did. Well, we went yesterday to like measure everything and like plan everything out. So I was like, you know, I might as well get this done because I don't want to waste a single second. Yeah. Yeah. I want to. I want to live. up every moment. yeah and i don't want to look around and go you know in a couple months ago i still got to decorate that that you know that part of it i want it to be like i'm ready and i'm and of course i'll add things as time goes on of course but i got some posters from my room you're gonna bring over right you know you need like the little things the lamps the chat that'll that'll add yeah but it's a two-year lease so i want to soak in every moment because we don't know after that yeah yeah yeah um so yeah i'm but let me tell you and talk about someone who's celebrating a birthday and is a virgo like that would have been such a like such a virgo thing to do and i'm just not i'm really so funny like when when we talk about you being a virgo you're you're just i really only have the bossy element of being a virgo like the whole organized side of it i don't really get that part and what's crazy is i've always tried to figure out my what my whatever like i don't i'm so bad with astrology i need my rising you're rising in your moon but but my mom doesn't remember that time i was born that we see we need to find this i gotta find my birth certificate i actually think i because i actually think i have no like the time of day or like she just you yeah no you need like the time you need the time so like i mean every everything just do the birth chart you need the time so i am a leo sun aries moon taurus rising whatever i say that like i know what that means whatever you got going on though takes away from the virgo organization because that is not something you possess no nope nope which is so funny because i think as someone who i mean we talked about this a lot this week and it is not a bad thing it it's a great thing you know you need someone to rein you in like a rule follower um you would think you would be somebody who has everything organized because you are a rule follower no and i like but that's what i love about you but i like to try like i i make the attempt like every year i get the planner i say i'm gonna write everything down i'm gonna keep track and be organized it lasts me about two weeks right but i love that about you because if you were like by be really fucking annoying if you were so by the book in every aspect of your life i don't think we would get along that well i also always joke that if you were to look at all the virgo traits and if you like if you have all of them like you're same thing for leos i mean same thing for probably most signs yeah yeah you know it's just like on paper it'd be like oh my god you're going to be like oh my god you're going to be like oh my god type a type a who doesn't have any fun but you're not type you're not type a i'm not type a at all i'm not type a at all and you have a lot of fun i think it's because it like maybe skipped a generation like my mom is so type a that maybe that's why i'm not you know you were just like fuck this like it's just like i had to go opposite but you are that this is what we were saying the other day about the nick jonas thing like you really let loose in a way that i think people would be you know maybe i hope to not be outing you like this but i i think that people would be stunned to see you out on a night out i'm not doing anything out of the ordinary no no but i'm just saying like i don't know it's a different no for sure it's a different you when you get you out on the town you know yeah no that's fair um but yeah that what what do you think are you type a no uh i don't think so i don't really know what that means he's an interesting combo because i feel like at work he is very type a wait type a is like um you know you're you're you just get shit done you have everything planned and organized and it needs to be this way maybe a little anal oh well if it's anal then yeah you know like at work he definitely is yeah in life no definitely not no but that's yeah i but yeah i wouldn't be able to as two people that travel with him quite often oh yeah he's not a type a traveler no wait but in what way in what way am i not type what is a type a travel the definition of type a and then if you want to be specific traveler yeah you're like you're texting us like the morning of what time do i need to leave for the airport like a type a a type a it like has the uber schedule for the perfect sense of time urgency extreme organization you're very on time yeah but when like if we're just talking about the traveling aspect we're separating work and and your personal work you're on time extremely organized the perfect employee say like i says they prefer tight control over their schedules and environments yeah i do like to have control over my environments but i i kind of just go with the flow yeah you're a go with the flow kind of guy though you know i i don't know type a type like i think sometimes it's like you pick it up from the people around you my dad is very like go with the flow certain things yes but my mom always joked that we got our all of our laziness came from my dad's side so oh that's so classic parent banter yeah yeah right it's like they give all the they give the bad traits to the other side of the family oh my god that must be from your father's side always yeah always blaming the other side oh my god exactly i eat that shit up yeah yeah well let me tell you it's like i if i was if it was like my you know my grandmother my mother i would have that side to me and i and i don't my grandma we were all together up in the vineyards like don't you want to be like look at all of this doing more oh she looks like she's really in the shadows she's really enjoying the shadow underneath wait continue she said well me mom was like because she was talking about cooking and all these things and she's like don't don't you want to be cooking more and i was like not really i was like joe's so good at it i don't know like joe loves to cook i don't love to cook right you know you have to love it you really do and there's there's times when i do enjoy it and i and i like doing it on my own all the like i like doing it on my own when someone's not not calling out my husband when someone's like you're doing everything wrong i'm like okay i know i'm doing everything wrong like i don't know what i'm doing i i remember when we were cooking in uh palm springs and you were like can i can i do anything and i was like do you want to do the salad you're like yes i was like i know she goes yes i have a job i'm making the salad i was like oh wow i could do the salad oh man well i hope you have a wonderful weekend maybe i'll see you and uh you know yeah i say maybe you are invited out like that made it sound like maybe you were i know i am i don't know it was like you're like maybe i'll see him maybe i won't i don't know why i said it like that um it was kind of just like a trying to like move on to the topic yeah yeah yeah and i was like how do i go yeah i didn't want to reveal like all your plans no no no but we no no so fair so fair but hey maybe i'll see you maybe i'll see you this weekend let's get into the topics well i i do want to say it is uh my aunt's birthday and i uh happy birthday aunt debbie shamefully i want to say shamelessly but i felt i felt a little bit a little bit of shame doing it that i texted melissa gorga and was like hey um my aunt is such a big fan like do you think you can make me a video and and and they made they made such a good video and as this is leaving my mouth i think every week since we've been in the studio i have mentioned texting somebody of notoriety and i gotta be honest i gotta stop it's like okay why don't you get the clout chasing penis out of your mouth maria because holy fuck i feel like it's only been glenn and this glenn heather mcmahon like i've named like it's like i'm naming everybody from every universe i'm like oh you think we're just friends with glenn powell well we know people in the bravo world we know comedians we're running out of people like the ones that yeah well these are the ones we've known for years okay we haven't really made any new friends besides our guest today's guest god i wish we had his phone number yeah thankfully we don't no thankfully he's probably really appropriate he's probably relieved we're all you know we're we're we're all happily here's the thing it's like i'm out of the studio so tom bateman is first of all tom bateman is on this episode and the way re and i skipped out of the studio like everybody thought we were like in love with him and we were like no no we love i said we love him in the sense that when the interview ended i looked at re i said i will support him in anything he does for the rest of his life we're not in love with him we're just in love with the idea of we're just fans yes like we're just fans no that's that's as simple as that people forget that you can have a platonic love yeah people and that does not mean to be my husband yeah yeah and live in london together it means that and he's a married man and he is a married man daisy ridley and we totally respect that and we are married women yeah and my goodness gracious can't we just appreciate someone for who they are without it wanting to be because we immediately ran over to our desk skipping jumping up we might have been jumping up and down our feet might have been in the air i mean you were talking about photoshopping his face onto that glenn powell picture behind you i'm telling the story okay and by the way i don't feel that way about glenn powell here's the thing i feel love as a friend and i feel love as a friend for glenn powell 100 i couldn't agree more there is a sensation and my fellow fangirls know the sensation when you watch a new movie or a new tv show and you see that guy and you're just like i need to know everything about him like i need i i gotta google him i need to learn everything about him like he just gained his new biggest fan we are so lucky because we in certain certain projects we get to have that moment and then talk to them you know like actually get to meet them and when they live up to what you hope or you're excited to meet someone and they're like oh my god that person was so great it's amazing it's like so he's gonna be in the new love hypothesis and it's such a cute movie and people are going to fucking fall in love with him and he's going to have like people are going to be obsessed it's going to be it's going to be huge and then when you get to chat with him and you're like what a fucking lovely human I just want the best for him in life exactly it's like cute aggression because you just like want to now here's the thing on the other side of we are obviously fangirls and that's what we grew up on we now do this for a living and every time mostly I want to say it's a male actor or performer that comes into here I get extremely nervous that they are going to look at us like oh these just these two silly girls and not take us seriously or whatever and it's not them it doesn't happen but it is a fear of mine because we have heard and maybe it's years ago like oh they hear the name chicks in the office and silly they talk about silly pop culture like we don't want to go on you know so it's just this fear that I have that someone's gonna come in they're gonna sit down and go why am I doing this like silly little pop culture show and so when they sit down and they are always so lovely and amazing and personable they leave it's like holy shit what a feeling of relief they are such a great human they respect us we respect them and that's the feeling we left with Tom so we go back to our desk we are feet in the air we're holding hands jumping up and down he's great and my husband works in the office so he's sitting right there listening to us be like this is the best man that we've ever seen and he doesn't give a shit like he is used to this by now like come on and everyone around him is like Marty are you gonna listen to this he's like I don't what do you think I care about this like not in a way that's rude he's like yeah and he looks at him and he's like yeah I get it and you know what we also get so excited and I will say a majority we have great conversations 99% of the time when we leave an interview that we were like that felt like a really great interview we we there's a little extra pep in our step yeah and and you know what and that's what I'm saying like I almost slap a must listen on this interview just a just a which hasn't happened in a long time no just an enjoyable human yeah and the next time someone asks us who our favorite guest was I'm saying Tom Bateman like there it's and it's just a feeling of warmth and happiness yeah and everyone's gonna love it and they're gonna eat him up and um yeah yeah the movies like everyone's gonna love the movie it's yeah so exciting so everyone listen to that and we are gonna get into the high rock sick girl uh is uh changing her tune now yeah well yeah we don't have to follow up on that I don't care oh okay she's a barn animal we already she was she was like so I saw she was like sorry I should have quit yeah yeah no shit nice um we are gonna get into the rest of today's episode obviously listen to Tom but we are gonna go through Dancing with the Stars night one and two we're gonna go a couple guy by couple we wrote down some notes as we watched we're gonna talk about it all and then we have an update about the Mormon wives Michaela's leaving Taylor Frankie Paul can't stop failing drug tests it's a whole thing allegedly uh so let's get into it and we have a great game of trivia sorry great game of trivia that as well all right let's get into it can I like immediately put you on blast yeah you know you know what I'm gonna say I don't I have no idea okay so we have a group chat it's me Rhea Kelly and Gia and we have been talking out all throughout dancing with the stars and Rhea sent the text is Bruno French oh my god I had a I had a freaking brain fart I know he's Italian Bruno Tonioli I couldn't believe it my response I was like are you good no I wasn't good I wasn't good it's been a hectic week my brains all over the place getting shit done and left right center um I know and I don't know what came out of me I felt so embarrassed I literally was like why the fuck would you ask that you know he's Italian you know that you know he's a paisano of yours yeah of course uh so yeah I apologize that was really weird of me I don't know what happened something took over you opening that what I don't know what got into me that was weird I don't know I had a brain brain fart uh but dancing with the stars no I just love the studio I just have like I'm just gonna say it I love I get so I get so excited to come in here and talk every day yeah I really do like I I genuinely go home every day and I say I am so excited to go back to work tomorrow and talk because I just love this setup I I just feel so free and uh just want to get off it's a great setup get that off my chest anyways I love that it was a two night premiere it was a two night premiere first night was all the male stars with their female pro dancers and let's get into it all right you know we could start we're not gonna put fluff in the middle here like the huffs like to do we got a little huff dance here huff dance there and then and then Julianne Huff gets on and she's like looking at the teleprompter she's like um we are going past time are we not gonna have time for my dance maybe if we cut your fucking dance out of the show we would have more time for the thing that we are watching for which is the dances of the competitors and what the judges have to say no no we have to rush what Bruno has to say because Julianne's gotta dance for Paris Baguette right right right no free ads by the way you know what I don't even blame like that's less on Julianne and less on them deciding like hey let's this the show's never been bigger so let's really milk it and we'll do a two night premiere but we'll make sure we put in a big sponsor number well yeah well they have a bunch of sponsors this season but good for them good for them they're getting paid they're making the big bucks bigger sponsors means higher quality we love it Paris Baguette probably paid a shit ton for all this looks like they're also sponsoring the podcast listen good for this fucking off the shoulder shirt it's hard to deal with every time because I talk with my hands less exaggerated emotions if you're not watching on YouTube I apologize you know um sorry I'm literally stuck it's a very cute shirt oh thank you I think it is oh thank you that's nice of you I don't know how I felt about it but anyways I want to get this out of the way because I want to talk about it the whole time Julianne Hough has to get her hosting shit in order she's got to get it in order I think it was I think it was maybe like week one rust you know let's be honest she's never that fantastic anyway you know she's a phenomenal dancer great performer fantastic performer fantastic performer she did flub the Paris Paralympic situation like three times that was bad yeah yeah which is yeah it's hard it's it's tough it's just the thing is like if it's when it starts to repeat itself then it's hard but like you could see Ezra in the corner being like I can't believe I'm on camera for this right now and I have a straight face but they just like I think that they really have figured out a good flow with the judge host who like who's in those positions right now because I do think it's it's you know anything's better than the Tarabanks days you know I like where I like where we're at and you know we like and you know what we like to have something to talk about like this thanks Alfonso yeah and Julianne and Alfonso I love I I love them as hosts like talking about the duo yeah yeah yeah and so if she flubs up fine but we're gonna talk about it and she was off her game but besides the point let's get into the dancers we started off with Jackson Olsen and Emma Slater this is Emma Slater's first partner in in their 20s I couldn't believe that when they said that I thought he was older than me no we're the same age no no he he has you know what it is sometimes I I feel like maybe you think he's got fake teeth those chompers oh yeah they have to be right they have to be and they're beautiful but sometimes when you go big on them like that it it makes you look a little older I think yeah that's right um who's who's the guy with the big the big teeth um um um um the big fake teeth an actor anybody on Love Island UK no like big fake teeth you know I thought got big fake teeth Zach Affleck on Mormon Wise did he get big fake teeth I watched one episode and he started talking I went where those things come from you see if you get fake teeth they have to be done tastefully right no 100% I can't remember what I'm thinking about it a TV host or somebody with big teeth but whatever Jackson has yeah big nice teeth and they danced a cha-cha to Wannabe by the Spice Girls came out in 1997 he's an entertainer he is an entertainer fives across the board did you write notes about them uh no and so it's it's up in my head you know oh you're like low wayne yeah i just see like this right like you know what i'm saying like we have the names what they dance to and the scores and then it like all comes back to me yeah yeah where i can envision where i can envision the dance i'm excited to see what they do so you thumbs up sorry so you thumbs up me when i said let's write notes about each couple and then that was for you i was like that's a nice idea for you to do go ahead i knew something was up when she thumbs up me and didn't respond i said let's write notes about each couple for friday i just got a thumbs up i'll remember but if you need to do that sure i'll remember just that would be funny but anyways fuck the notes well here's my note okay he can't do they can't do the banana yellow every dance no so i'm excited to see what they do moving forward because it's like this is his thing so what comes next i'm excited to see and also a little like you know sloppy footwork a little bit they'll clean that up but his feet were sort of all over the place i had the same note a little sloppy finally she has a partner that can move though which is she must be thrilled yeah this to be able to up the choreography a little bit for sure this is huge um you know i actually was expecting more from him i think and so this was a little bit more sloppy i think he's used to that though the big yeah yeah yeah moves uh on the baseball field but and right away uh derek like put out a disclaimer was like hey don't be alarmed with the lower scores sort of just saying it's week one we got to start somewhere so that you can go that you can get better and all those things which we felt night one a little bit more than night two i would think like just in the in the range here right because the reaction from emma and jackson when they got all fives was like oh yeah i think realistically that was a pretty good score all things considered for sure and i i like that we need to start low no i agree you have to i agree i agree too but it was like then it was well we'll get into it but a lot of the fives and sixes and seven confusing definitely night two a little bit more yeah tyler cameron and sharna were next they did a tango too are you gonna go my way by lenny kravitz listen i think tyler has tons of potential and they got a score of 17 carianne gave a six the i thought tyler really did a great job with his framework a little stiff looking of course a tango has to be tight but so much potential so much and yeah it just reminds me like tyler being back on the screen i'm like you know what that's a it's a solid guy and i'm happy for him and rooting for him same and it actually warmed my heart to see some tiktok edits back on my page like or seeing people being like wow my 2019 bachelor nation crush being back on my tv i'm like wow you know what good for him i'm happy to have this come back around for him and people are going to be people are like holding on to him in the package saying that like he went on the bachelorette hoping that dancing with the stars would be like in his future i just think he always wanted to be on dancing with the stars which is not in the sense that like i don't think it was like let me go on the bachelorette so that i could be on dancing with the stars i think it was like after he was on and then there was a possibility of being on dancing with the stars he always he would have been happy to take it for sure yeah i'm dying at the videos from 2019 tyler he was our rob you know yeah the kids didn't even know what it was like when tyler cameron first it is like there's there's like millennials on tiktok they're like take it they're like let me tell you about tyler cameron back in the day but no but tyler came here the first time this place like bring the lore back remember when dave stopped the radio show to be like this guy's too good looking what is he doing yeah yeah like he was like that you're dating i remember he came in yeah like randomly when dylan and dylan i don't know if hannah was here but yeah dylan was on the podcast and he just sat on the floor and watched yeah then we went to rolling loud yeah rode that scooter we've had some we've had some good times yeah there's some good good times have you ever talked for the scooter the scooter we might have played it at a live show maybe at a live show i don't know we never talked about on the podcast though no no no it was like yeah that that's a funny video yeah maybe we'll save it for the live show just like size wise it's hilarious because you are a tiny human and he is a large human which is one of the things that he's gonna have to battle with on this show because he is a very tall big guy that um any like little infraction is very visible you sent a picture the other day that was so funny from 2021 oh oh that was just hilarious and it was just like wow what a time looking back yeah and i saw someone on thread say that like the time for tyler to have been on this show was like after he was dating gg hadid when things were hot and i disagree what do you mean like i i think that this is a great time for him to be on dancing with the stars one thousand percent you know fan this is dancing with the stars is so fucking huge now he took took advantage of what he was doing he kind he i want to i don't want to say he fell off he went quiet for a little bit he focused on his life at home for sure he found tape trying to build a business trying to build a family a life and and now he's doing a lot of work and he's doing a lot of work and he's doing a lot of work which is actually if you would say strategically smart because if he did dancing with the stars then he may have played all his cards like he played all his cards and then he'd be like well what else is there what else is there to do now you know for sure this is so you throw him back out here now and everyone's being reminded how much they love him i loved seeing sharna back oh as well and these two are gonna cook up some great oh my god these two are gonna cook up some great sharna is just so sexy she is i mean she just is she just is she really is uh moving on to this big old mess connor levitt and adele they danced a salsa yeah they danced a salsa just in case you were confused of what dance they did do to whoop there it is yeah and they got a score of 12 and whoop there it is they went home there it is right out the door as soon as his ass shook i knew i was gonna hate everything that happened after right and then it shook like four more times it did and he here's the thing he he is like a happy-go-lucky guy yeah and so there's not you can't knock much about him right and you know i'm trying to tread lightly but i'm gonna be honest yes he's a happy-go-lucky guy and he's always supporting everybody else and he was whitney's cheerleader and he talked about how like you know he's always there being the one supporting everyone and what it's like for people and that is a beautiful message and it's a beautiful thing and i'm happy for him and it's you know he seems so happy and joyous and loves magic but my god magic when i saw this yeah i had to mute my television as soon as they wrapped up yeah when the judges scores went i had to sit in silence and ask myself what i just witnessed and if i wanted to continue on in life because i couldn't believe it now upon initial viewing i was like this man i'm sorry fun and all he's got to go he's trying it was immediate no he's trying to do whitney facial expressions yeah it was pretty immediate this show the dance ending we were like it's got to be it's got to be upon re-watching a couple other times because you have to yeah the choreography was not in his favor and i thought that immediately as well and i don't think adele i don't want to knock adele because she's a new pro and she rightfully won the new pro show yeah and she crushed it on there and she is a sorry next pro and she is a phenomenal dancer and so talented but this choreography i don't think was in his favor i think this choreography was like a mockery and let's have a funny joke joke ha ha let's be a couple clowns out there where if they did a traditional salsa and he was moving slow and composed well salsa but you know what i mean just like how everyone is their first week yeah where they're trying to learn the steps i actually think he would have got more respect in that way instead we watched him shake his tush and do all these song choice didn't help a salsa whoop there it is yeah yeah there's not much more like you know i just think of you're just kind of like shaking it to what when that's like i don't know i agree with you and i'll be honest that was sort of my feeling when adele won next pro because she is a unbelievable dancer like holy crap is she a fantastic dancer but i and the parts where it was like teaching and maybe doing like like actually being a pro i thought i don't know if she is perfect for that job and i kind of felt that here and it's hard to knock because it is week one it's her first time doing it she's never done it before uh and i hope she gets an opportunity to to be back again and i hope she gets an opportunity to do it again and i hope she gets an opportunity to do it again It was a big old mess. And then Guillermo went and I went, God, I'm eating up this little meat. you know but but you have to understand the difference between the two i mean let's use critical thinking here because we i think it's because maybe we expect more from connor no we do we just know yeah in terms of being able to move your body yes we expect more from connor than gear we know what gear most exactly we know what's in his tank and you know what's in his tank rolling around the floor like a big sausage and calling it there was a moment mid-dance where he just stood still for like three to four seconds watching her just spin around and here's like four beats of him just standing with Whitney dancing around he was like that is what happens exactly and I will say though gear entertainment factor exactly but also Guillermo's slow stepping was like trying to when he did move yeah trying to learn the moves I thought more than what Connor was doing with the salsa in terms of like stuff you know but like no I get what you're saying I get what you're saying trying to explain it I'm explaining it poorly and maybe you won't be able to figure out what I mean sort of like what was going on with Giada like even though like Giada's dance was very simple she was getting scores that that she was getting similar scores of dances that were more complex but it's like well she did the simple stuff well despite it looking very simple that's what yes simple is the correct word where sometimes I think in the beginning simple is better now here's the thing with Guillermo for the sake of Whitney they gotta go home Whitney does not want to be there any longer like you know I know that everyone's going to I can't no it's an it's an he rolls on the ground when he roll the roll is on the floor and rolls like we're turning him on the grill it is just insane like he is a you know what call us hypocrites I'm gonna eat that up and I'm gonna go yeah I want to watch that more truly the pork over the fire yeah I want to watch that more than Conor Leavitt my apologies absolutely you know sue us sorry the entertainment factor is there and here's the thing it's going to be an issue it is going to be it's going to become an issue quick we're going to have this situation where everybody's gonna be like the people are going to vote for him and right off the bat there are some great dancers already that like if anyone goes home before him it'll be like oh that sucks it's gonna be it is going to be the thing that we had with Andy where it's like listen I actually find him to be more entertaining than Andy and I honestly when I was watching I was like oh fuck I'm about to be Noah this season yeah yeah but for the sake of Whitney I'm not going to do that because I think Whitney is like sadly if we're being honest I think she probably was like I'll take Guillermo I'm pregnant but they have to know what happened last season no but no they know they know but it'll be slow dancing she you know what I mean yes and then hopefully here's the thing I think she's going to be like I'm pregnant but she'll be okay though because it's like he he's never going to be able to step up the choreography right so it will be so she's going to be able to do some pretty simple stuff for sure but I mean I'm sure she wants a break yeah I mean I don't think she wants to lose no you don't want to lose but I'm sure part of her is like if I get if I go home yeah she's like the odds of me going back to back with Guillermo slim but imagine oh my it was so no it was so entertaining though like I have to say I up and you know what and he knows how to play the crowd too look at him yeah he said women are the best he what julianne is when they're in the skybox and he's like look at this beautiful pregnant woman women are the best it was like you are one smart man Guillermo and by the way he said on the carpet too he's been using that line and he's getting me every time I'll admit it I fucking voted for him uh same no she was saying like he's like the nicest to everyone like he's yeah he's playing he was joking on Jimmy Kimmel that he was joking that he's gained 10 pounds because he's so hungry after that's after dancing he I did vote for him and you know all votes I gave him 10 but you could vote for multiple people no no I know no I voted for other people too but I did throw him in the mix yeah and uh yeah I just these are the weeks where I literally vote for everybody right it's like besides I like you I like you I went all in yeah so uh you know not much else to say besides the fact that after posting that I did have people message me like how are you going to say this about Guillermo not Connor it's like well yeah no I come on no it's very come on um Danielle and Ezra dance a tango since you've been gone they got us 20 it was a seven six seven phenomenal like goosebumps unbelievable stunning he is just a spectacular human for so many reasons but like what a gorgeous dance and I just feel like Daniela is going to come up with some really cool creative things for them to do and it's gonna it's just like I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know I don't know gonna blow us away every time what an incredible story from Ezra yeah so inspiring really incredible and really just downright impressive yeah all around yeah I really do feel inspired by somebody like Ezra because you know not to get too serious or real but from your day to day sometimes you don't want to get off the couch and you just want to be lazy and you know you forget take things for granted yes exactly and then you watch someone like Ezra and you're like wow you can't take a day for granted you can't take a day for granted you can't take a day for granted having being able to use every part of your body for granted in the way that he uses what he has is just so impressive and so incredible and he crushed it crushed like really just so good and that is also a testament to Daniela who is an amazing teacher amazing dancer um Connor Wood and Riley they did a cha-cha too I like it I love it score 16 carry in six the rest fives um people I was so pleasantly like surprised by this it was fun it was cute Riley's obviously adorable so I think it's a great combination I like that they sort of did something different like they had a bit of a country theme and it was song choice wise was different from like what everybody else was doing so it had a different feel it was memorable it was sweet and I feel like he's another person that will get better and and the people the people do love Connor they do I definitely think he will get better it is so funny you know when they do the bottom three but it's not they say it's not technically the bottom three but two out of the three are definitely in the bottom three for sure right because you had Connor Levitt Guillermo and Connor Wood Connor Wood has such a strong fan base vote voting wise that I feel like he wasn't actually in the bottom three I don't think Guillermo I feel like Guillermo and I don't know you don't think so well I think I I think Guillermo got a shit ton of votes but we just all think that Guillermo would be at the bottom right I just think that when they say it's not the bottom three I think two out of that I actually never believe it I'm like I think this is the bottom right because it's pretty it's like I'm like okay well you know yeah so but when seeing Connor Wood's face when they say Connor it's like you got I mean doing the double Connor is so hard it's so hard and thank god we got this clear yeah yeah it makes everything going forward do you think they're gonna continue to make his vote Connor W or do you think we'll be able to just do Connor I think they're just gonna make it Connor W but they'll take Connor yeah right it'll it'll submit for for that I mean the website completely broke the first night so they were going just by text uh I don't know I don't know results and people were like collusion the website broke Connor Levitt should still be like because all the people voting on the website were voting for only for Connor yeah and I'm like I'm sorry like let's just accept this okay here's the thing it's like all the people that's voting via website are probably just putting their votes in via text like it's just like the same you know like when I I rarely go to the website I normally just send text but towards the end of the season when things get more intense I just double and go both like I'm doing the voting for the same people there's no way to like you could you can tell you can do website and phone oh yeah yeah yeah uh Taylor Hanson and Britt were beautiful quick step um tell her about it they had a six it was a carrying in the six and then two fives I feel like he's another person that has a lot of potential um he's got to cut his hair I don't know what or like I know luscious hair I know and that's going to cause some controversy with controversy with the Hanson fans because that's like his look but I heard Derek talking about this where it's like with ballroom there's so much with the lines and the shape like that's why ballroom dancers in competition like everybody has their hair slicked back that he might have to have to do something his hair's in his face I see it's like there's times where he's like you know he's throwing his head back like this to like toss his hair out of his face yeah he can have it pinned back not yeah he might have to our headband right maybe some slicks some Elvis style looks you know right but this was a really beautiful dance and I a quick step so hard for week one um and I feel like he is going to be very good I got uh Jason Mraz vibes from him when Jason Mraz was on and he would you know he became a really good dancer and I think Taylor Hanson has that and you could tell he's taking it very seriously I think and Britt is so good and I'm really rooting for her yeah make a run for it this season absolutely last but certainly not least we had Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson they dance a cha-cha to let's groove score 21 all sevens they were grooving all right my god did I think they were gonna fuck at the end of this there there is it was like something came over me he said something came over he said I gotta hit a body roll no a scroll to the end when they go to the floor he hits a butt when he when he's checking her pulse and he hits a body roll and then Jenna sticks her tongue out on at him ready watch it's like oh I thought in that moment Jenna's leaving Val and she's going home with Harry Shum Jr. now I know that's inappropriate to say but this but whatever happened here they then joked about it after him in the post yeah post show press where val came up and was like i don't know if that ending move was necessary and jenna was like it was necessary and harry was like i don't know what came over me which was so funny because then val obviously was like no it was great yeah and they all respect each other they're this is their profession so just making jokes here but i saw this i thought okay this is the start of a movie i didn't know existed yet because holy shit now besides that just spectacular dancing yeah look he's a fantastic dancer and here's the thing i find that and i felt the same way with jen a little bit too it's like the judges need to come up with something to say and there's there are for sure critiques and whatever it's like oh but it's funny when the critique is like you're hitting the move too hard you know like it was like carrie ann was like you're exaggerating too much like it's just like okay but they'll they'll get in the right rhythm i mean my god i can't i can't take my eyes off and i just love when they're so excited to get back into dance he hasn't been dancing for a long time and i know we're pushing heavy on the gray's anatomy aspect of it all because you know that's a fellow abc program uh and the glee of it all is not being discussed as much as much as it should be but the guy loves to dance and seeing his face light up after two just being like i'm just so happy to like be dancing again i gotta be honest ain't that what it's all about it is it totally is for the love of dance i i watch this part again i cannot get over this body roll yeah like and jenna's sticking her tongue out it's like wow we were just in the moment there we were forgot where we were and that's performance i love that is performance baby i love it moving on oh r.i.p connor love it went home yeah night one as we knew we kind of expected expected and well actually we didn't expect no one called it we were like i i didn't think so either thought that i mean that night i was like he's going home but that leading up i thought because whitney got sent home after his dance that everybody was like oh we're gonna ride hard for connor now but do you think if he really had like an incredible dance that he still would have been saved i will also maybe maybe but i also make the argument for a new pro as well that people have their favorite pros now and because adele is new she doesn't quite have that fan base that's loyal fan base yet so the combination of connor not being great and adele is new she doesn't quite have that fan base that's loyal fan base yet so the combination of adele and we saw we saw it happen both nights right we'll get into that we go into night two started off with tatiana ali and yon they did a jive to knock on wood this was a 12 444 low start here much room for improvement and it was a messy start like she was off for the beginning she got back into it a little bit um but just her whole story like you can't help but root for her it was an immediate like her talking about you know her kids getting a little bit older and this is the time for her to do this and she's like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know and you know kind of talking about her mom belly and just like being very open about where she is in her life right now you can't help but root for her and i feel like they had done that dance so much better maybe in rehearsals and things and then like you'd have that mess up and you're like oh and i i really hoped that it wasn't going to be something that would send her home because i think that her and yon could be great and i'm excited to see what they do did you see yon's instagram live on instagram live on instagram live on instagram live on instagram live on instagram his tiktok lives yes it was so yon's so fucking funny really he is like a really really hilarious personality my pussy he's like who put that he's like i'm gonna put that song in here i'm not a pervert it was so funny oh my god but yeah much much to improve here but yeah for her yeah big time amber glenn and pasha did a cha-cha to smooth i love this song oh god you could just get me i fucking love this song too little santana oh my god i eat up santana same um i think that when this song came out it was the number one song of that year i believe if we can get a check on that what year was she born 1999 i think i've talked about this multiple times 2001 what year was amber glenn i mean she's 20 how old is she smooth was the number one song of that year i believe smooth if it says believe the longest running number one single of the era dominating the chart for 12 total weeks yeah it's a great great one uh she was great all sixes though good i know i really thought and here's the thing when they went all sixes for this i was like they're gonna be a little tough around the women's for some fucking reason i feel like they always are and i just thought like i don't know there were some sevens who got a seven night one that i thought there was or maybe no keep going no it was just harry yeah no ezra ezra did ezra was fantastic but i was like that felt similar to me like that i thought maybe and maybe not all sevens but i thought maybe someone was gonna toss a seven in there right i agree moving on sierra and brandon foxtrot to exhale yeah 15 all fives i think sierra is gonna turn out to be a great dancer i saw so much potential here i think she was so nervous she was clearly very nervous she talked about it she's put it on threads now that she was so nervous and i think you're also maybe a little shaken because they have talked about this before that they don't know what's in the package before it and it's like if it played and and 75 of it was about west and amanda i'd be like oh fuck like right you know like come on so maybe like immediately you're already a little thrown off and now you have that in the back and then you're already so fucking nervous but i will say the symmetry of everything that she did when it came to wearing that winnie houston dress at the emmys this costume being like a take on that dress dancing to this song i was just like oh that is just stunning i loved everything about that yeah everything was synchronized and and it'll come together for them foxtrot is also one of those ones that's like deceivingly very hard because you just see everything yeah and i also think brandon is such a great partner for her as well as having um his wife they're such a great support system yeah so i feel like this is going to be great for her yeah moving on to giada and alan they did a tango to venus 16 a six and two fives now here's the thing i don't think giada should have got a six the six was shocking to me yeah the six was shocking to me just compared to where how carrie ann was judging everybody else with sixes like in my mind i watched amber's dance i watched this dance there's no reason these should both be sixes you know and that continued as the night went on with people's scores all fives sure she did well it was also one of those situations where i thought alan gave her very simple choreography to start she's which is okay and so fair because she's never danced before so like she did execute what they were doing kind of well but there was she there was also a couple mess ups in that and then i thought six i just thought that was crazy a little a little bit crazy right off the bat um but people love giada that is that is for sure julia styles and ezra did a quick step to nine to five dolly pardon just so cool that they got that approval um before she passed to be able to do this song so that's just a moment in itself three sixes i just love that julia is so into it and clearly cares a lot and wants to be good and wants to like work really hard at it i loved that uh you know they they quoted andy cohen on his radio show being like you know julia styles like isn't really a good dancer and then on watch what happens live andy cohen made himself the jackhole he was like it's me sorry julia like you're like who am i to say you know if you're you can dance or not all these things so she's i think she's only going to get better too i do think the nerve like there were a lot of nerves i felt on night two maybe a little bit more uh and quick step is so i think yeah like in terms of week one dance jive quick step to me i'd be like oh right fuck off but i do think that she's so dedicated and is only going to go up from here and i love i'm obsessed with this pairing like her and ezra together i just i i love it so good rockstrat to black velvet score 21 all sevens holy shit holy shit was i this knocked off my seat this was a week like this is a performance that you could have told me was i week six and i would have been like yeah absolutely she was so good and here's the thing i gotta be honest i did not expect that i didn't at all and it's a testament to how great of a teacher mark is everybody says it people say oh yeah mark gets all the damage and i'm like i don't know i don't know i don't well what if mark is just a fantastic teacher because no dance background yeah mora does not have a dance background she is not an athlete like no it let's not forget about her doing dancing on ice she did do that you're right they didn't mention you're right but and then remember like on love island when curtis tried to teach her some moves like i just did not see mora as this coordinated if i'm being completely honest that's so fair i'm such a huge mora fan i love her i've been obsessed with her for years but holy shit she's my new number one yeah like she's going straight to the top and i'll make sure of it yeah and like it really like you said a testament to mark because the what also he is so good at is the creative like doing the full traders dance the joke about the birkin the call like everything was so curated and perfect that when he just puts on a when he carried her back to the judges i was like hell yes he just knows how to put on a crush yeah knows how to put on a performance, knows how to showcase his power. partner and they are going to be a formidable couple i think people i jump on board i could choo-choo we are so on board so on board leading the charge for amora and mark we're getting scores we're getting them that mirror ball higher highest scores tied with harry yes uh moving on to sarah j nader and hayley bills they did a jive to skater boy 14 two fives and a four unfortunately they were sent home yeah i was super bummed about this i mean listen i think when you start off the dance and it all and right off the bat looks sloppy and out of place it's hard to catch people back in especially with a jive it's so hard to get back it's so fast and and the jive when it's not perfectly in sync it's so blaringly obvious so it's like i don't know sometimes a dance and hold is it's not to the to the normal person's eye like me who is not a dance expert at all like they could say oh that was wrong and i'd be like oh i didn't notice that but in a jive i'm like oh well there she's off right off the bat she was off which is unfortunate because it's hard to pull people back into thinking that you're going to be great yeah because it could get better and it did get better but you're still thinking about that beginning here's what stinks hayley who is so talented and so excited it was her first season everyone was excited for her she has such a strong fan base online as well um this this was a bummer you know they both they got sent home and i i am curious your thoughts on this do you think because they are both women it was more obvious of how sarah jane compared in dancing that's that's fair um because i did see people bring up bring up that discussion because with the male and female partners it's so different totally so it's hard but because you're watching sarah and hayley who are like have kind of like a similar build yeah yeah look you can tell right how much she is messing right compared to hayley right more right no i think so fair because the only time we've seen it was just like jenna and jojo and jojo's a phenomenal dancer and has the dance background right so in this situation yeah that's so true i mean carianne carianne immediately being like i know what everyone's thinking that was hot i'm like that was like so really like inappropriate and just like baiting to me like oh what you just immediately thought like two women we're gonna just say that this is beautiful and you're gonna be like that was hot right like i know she's trying to like compliment them but yeah and it kind of felt like i don't know how to talk about this let me and that was weird to me yeah let me revert back to like a classic stereotype let me revert yeah let me revert back to being a guy and being like oh two chicks like it was a strange comment right off the bat yeah and then to be like so and by the way you were off it was like wait wait okay and by the way that wasn't what i was thinking right off the bat i was not thinking oh hot are these two together like it was it was that was a that was weird um didn't have to do that could have just talked about you know the dance yeah uh also i feel like that song is not like a song where you're like that's steamy and hot like no it was exactly it was a jive like it wasn't like harry schumann jenna at the end steamy and hot yeah this was not that yeah and it was it just felt like a you know a weird weird comment for what what for what they were doing jenna duan val closed the show with a tango to call me they got um sick two sixes and a seven another one where i'm like i'm sorry we're we're given we're given giada a six a six and we're given and we're giving jenna six i gotta be honest i started laughing out loud when i watched them because i was like she's so damn good i fucking miss watching her dance so much and here's the thing like okay they want to say oh maybe you know her shoulders were up too high there's like criticism of tango technique that was there but at the same time that's fair but like then you can't give giada six too like i just yeah i don't know crazy to me uh but watching them i just was so happy to watch her dance truly like it just oh she's just a fantastic so entertaining i have i had like an evil laugh like we're watching a train dancer like val can do a full routine of choreography that you would never expect to see week one so it is very hard to compare like this to something that giada and alan were doing giada doesn't know like this choreography is going to be way simpler and sometimes that does make your brain think oh this is bad compared to like something like this we were like whoa they fucking nailed it right and then the judges are like oh not as good and you're like wait a second am i missing something for sure complicated routine but it's only going to get better yeah and what did you think of the fact that it was night one and night two so they separated the guys and the girls i think they were like oh my god they were like oh my god they were if maybe it was mixed i don't know if that would have been sarah jane's exit however because it was a girl and a guy that does suck but i i thought i also thought maybe being like nepo contestant hurt if you think about it it was like the two people that had a a wife and a sister who were on the show yeah i do last season i think there's a lot of things that brooks was two seasons right come into play right the nepo of it all and then also on top of that new pros the new pros paired with the old pros and then also the new pros and then also the new pros the new pros and then also the new pros and then also the new pros and then also the new pros and then also the new pros and then originally when these two were cast the reaction was why these two and you begin to understand it more and you come around and go you know what the cast is the cast that's who they chose i was more bummed about seeing sarah jane and hayley go than i was seeing connor and adele go that's just my honest i'm with you on that there i would have really loved to have seen sarah and sarah jane and hayley i just have some more opportunity yeah i thought that would have been really fun to watch and i was super bummed and you know hayley so close with everybody and just like seeing her aunt and uncle come over you know the whole thing and then but i will say the naders they know how to make a laugh and they have been roasting sarah jane because she was off night one they were supposed to do a dinner that was sarah jane and hayley's first dance they cross it out and wrote last dance so you know they're making fun of it and joking around but it is a nightmare it's like the one thing you do i think anybody thing i think anybody that goes on dancing with the stars are like just bare minimum let me make it through a week one it's any competition show any competition show you just don't want to be the first one i don't care when i'm sent home if i make it past week one for sure exactly that but we are off to such a hot start this is going to be yeah such a fun season we're back in the full swing of things and then it's tuesday every week going forward 8 p.m it won't be a double night a double whammy which was so fun this week having it was really fun but it's a lot yeah that's when we get that the huff show coming in maybe not as many sponsored paris baguette uh dances because how much more could you how much more can you do what until you're literally dancing with baguettes did you watch the after show at all i did watch a little bit i went to bed he's a great host dylan effron not so much in my opinion i dylan was a little nervous yeah i there was like i only watched a little bit but like the first interview that dylan did and then he went back to bed and i was like oh my god i'm so excited i'm so excited to you robert he did that in the beginning too where he's like and back to you robert like he's like he's trying to be like yeah he was like anchorman or something like he's like and back to you uh derek did call tyler dylan yeah the first night he did now he made a video calling everybody by the wrong name to but like come on come on that was a very funny video it was a funny video uh all right that wraps up the dancing with the stars recap moving on to a little mormon wives kayla has exited the show we will read her statement yeah she's done with it and honestly good for her this is exactly what we were saying on monday and as she should as and with the more the news coming all the news coming out good for sure so she um had posted you know a post on instagram about leaving the show i'm not going to read both but then she made an instagram story and she said also to make things even more clear and shut down any assumptions because there's plenty going around and it's still not clear to some people the only reason i'm leaving the show is because i was told a certain person was coming back i told them before agreeing to agreeing to do six that i wasn't going to film if that certain someone came back because it's unethical and kids are involved and i'm being put in an unfair position because of the things i've seen and heard that i don't agree with not just the video everyone else saw barstool as in the chair uh which mind you i saw this video for the first time in march and other things with it that obviously made me question the one side i was hearing and unknowingly enabling the whole time i never knew the depths of it and i still don't i filmed six because that person was not there then we were told she was coming back i said great then i will not be participating god bless and goodbye haven't filmed a day since this wasn't a spur of the moment decision and it wasn't influenced a single percent so moral of the story she's not coming back because taylor frankie paul will be filming now there has been more news tmz has reported that taylor frankie paul has allegedly uh cut down parenting time because she has now failed failed multiple drug tests not good this is not good no it's not good at all the parenting time is cut yeah and this is why multiple court order drug tests and custody disputes with ex husband tate paul and ex-boyfriend dakota taylor allegedly failed failed multiple drug tests in the last 60 days as a result we're told the court ordered that she be limited to eight hours of parenting time each week four with her two kids with tate and four with her child with dakota the alleged substances involved remain unclear However, we're told at least one of them is not commonly available as a prescription med. this is why i don't trust dakota and i don't trust taylor frankie paul and i don't support either of them yeah i don't i won't i don't care no and i'm over it i'm done with it and it's like michaela said over it's there's kids involved is very serious and yet she is addicted tfp yeah is addicted to the online approval of others and just sharing everything she posted i came up on my i don't follow her but it came up on my page today but it was posted a while ago yeah about how she posted a video with i think a cop or security or something and she said i thought that something else was happening to me but he just came up to show me support and like posted the video i'm like why are you posting yeah i just don't everything doesn't need to be posted but in her opinion she's addicted to the online approval of others her mind and her brain it does and she needs serious help and it's not to be on tv and it's not to be on social media it's none of it it's coming from all sides now too like she clearly is not in the headspace to remove herself from any of these scenarios and that's sometimes when i'm like all right can someone be the adult in the room and be like hey we can't be putting her on tv anymore like that's what's crazy to me and i know too it's like it's like especially with the way getting the insight of what happened after she came back from the bachelorette and like what was being filmed for mormon wives watching that all unfold is so crazy to me because it's like i don't know how the mormon wives producers and the bachelorette producers aren't talking like to the bachelorette producers being well that was a waste of time and like this and like i don't know if the mormon wives producers are like we don't give a fuck we're gonna throw her in a scene with dakota right away when she comes back and like see what happens it's just all bad because i i she you can tell she does not have it in her to remove herself from bad situations and at a certain point like keep keeping her on tv and giving her because like she will keep thinking what she is doing is okay because that is what's keeping her on tv exactly so it's like at what point do we say we need to get her off tv like sure stop rewarding this behavior and making her the star of this show exactly that that's exactly it you are continue to platform her and put her on television which is gonna make the person go well if i'm making money from it then i must be doing something right she doesn't have it in her to like realize that what she like she doesn't have it in her to realize oh i need to stop what i'm doing if anything she may think that it would it would be detrimental to her time on tv and all these things well because then her brain probably goes well what am i gonna do for work and it's what how am i gonna make a living and it's what i said the other day with the uh with the comment about like macy and like her taylor frankie paul just being like you know i just like i have you know some people just have the it factor like all these things it's just like oh okay plenty of people would watch this show if they kept every whim bring to me back and let tfp like get her out of here let me ask you is it the it factor or is it the fact that you have you are a train wreck yeah that people can't look away from yeah i don't know if that's it factor or if you are just exploiting your life in a way no that people think it's so messy they just want to watch i don't know if that's it factor or if you are just exploiting your life in a way no that people think it's so messy they just want to watch and it's really so bad now there's just like i just can't believe these people in this room are like no we want we're we're gonna keep her coming back on this show with with everything that's going on too and failing drug tests and this that's like this is it's just getting dark and i know it was you know what's funny it was like just i think maybe it was jesse or something one of the episodes was like kind of kidding kind of not but being like you know this ends in this only ends in a way in a really bad way right which nobody wants and talking about them in this way doesn't mean you root bad for them it just means you want something better for these people and what is going on in their lives and it's so sad because you don't want it it lost the entertainment factor no it's gone and it's becoming very sad and you want the you want better for these people and for themselves and i remember her posting that she started maybe an antidepressant or anti-anxiety medicine a little while back so it it is confusing to me now to be failing drug like what is she taking with that she's mixing you know that's what i'm saying what's going on yeah you know yeah it's not good no not good at all that's the update good on michaela for getting out of that yeah and we'll see what happens that was the right move because i think it'll i think it'll come around and michaela will be like i i you know every i don't know if people will follow as she does they should like everyone else should just do like should be like well we're out right see what happens you know um but yeah that's i think they're gonna look back and be like michaela is making the right moves 1000 all right that wraps up the topics as the number one frozen fruit bar brand in america outshine fruit bars and mini fruit pops are made thank you so much for being here we're so excited to meet you and talk to you yes we're so excited we already started chatting about bagels you just got in line we're so excited to meet you and talk to you last night i know how are you feeling i'm feeling pretty good i had one of the first things i did was going to have a slice of pizza yeah okay so you're really you're doing pizza bagels just ticked it off saw a guy having a wee up against a trash can i was like i'm here yeah you've arrived welcome to new york thank you so much for having me yeah what uh thank you to bin man yes yeah what pizza could have been worse pepperoni okay i don't want to think about it too much there was a lot on the menu and i thought i don't want to just be the guy staring at the wall for too long i just want to go in you don't want to stick with it you don't want to stick with it you don't want to stick out too much no i don't pepperoni is my go-to as well it is just yeah it's a classic if you've had spicy honey on a piece yes i hadn't until about a week and a half ago it's very big they're throwing mike's hot honey on everything these days that sounds hot yeah it sounds like an ad it's not but they really are you've got some right here there's flowers there's some mike's hot honey and but they do like even when you go to restaurants it says it doesn't just say hot honey especially here it says mike's hot honey i've noticed that's something that you americans do you really like your brands yeah it's like you'll say we're gonna have an advil instead of a panga or or a what is it a kleenex yeah right what is what do you use as a plaster what we would call plaster uh like a band-aid oh a band-aid yeah yeah yeah but i guess i wouldn't say if i had a headache i wouldn't say i need a painkiller because that would sound like i need something a little bit more extreme or like a because you want an ibuprofen right well then well that's the generic name yeah yeah but we would say i or at least you'd like i need a painkiller i go ah has anyone got any painkillers yeah and noah would say yeah do you want an ad boom yeah no no no i would say are you looking for something stronger let me open my backpack now yes noah yeah so you are starring in love hypothesis yes everyone is super excited about this movie to come out i read the book when it came out i loved the book i was so excited when they said they were going to make it into a movie you and lily reinhardt amazing in this oh we did get to see it and it's so cute like i was so excited i love when i get to watch these movies before everybody else yeah we feel spoiled yeah is it did they give you a screener or do you get to uh yeah sometimes i feel the the most sort of flexi show-offy thing is when they they go no no we want you to see it in a cinema and they'll just rent a cinema out and it'll just be yeah me and like this one just me and daisy just went and i was like this is just so cool sometimes we've done that we but sometimes you know they got you they slap it you got your email massive across the front it can't be i can't even like airplay it to the tv because like maybe someone's watching through the window which i thought right exactly you close the blinds when you play it i'll put this up on the tv can't even do that yeah we have had you know where we went to go see it in the theater where they shut it down and recently we went to do this and i i don't know what happened but in my head i thought the director of the film was sitting behind us i don't know i misheard it was really just like an intern yeah and the whole time i'm like the director's behind yeah yeah yeah i'm like come on and we left i said i can't believe she's like i can't believe the director in the room the director she was like that was not the director yeah i love i really felt special yeah i also do love that you just you would just believe that you're like of course we'd be in a center with the director right it's just like i don't know maybe this is like the 18th time he's needed to see it i couldn't believe it i was like maybe he just wants to see our reactions that would that would have been good but we like a traditional movie going experience as well and sometimes when they do that for you they're like you they won't even let you bring water into the room and i'm like i need a snack yeah a movie is otherwise it's not a tradition cinema experience exactly do you have a go-to movie theater snack i like do you guys have the everyman cinemas here no we've got this this chain back home it's called the everyman they're so nice because they have it's probably compared to amc here yeah it's probably it's it's like you have a you have it's it's kind of like being at a home it's very sort of soft lighting and it's sort of like really nice sort of sofas with cushions and stuff you get that sounds a lot nicer and they'll bring food to your table so you sort of like okay we have some of those it's really nice so i like those and they do an everyman popcorn with everything so you just get a popcorn they just throw all these kinds of sweets and stuff and they just like mix it up yeah and i do like that one thank you oh yeah thank you so you would eat chocolate inside your popcorn who would eat chocolate inside my body this sounds is this a debate yes because he wouldn't have chocolate no he does he was arguing with somebody else here and it became a whole thing online where people were like that's you guys are crazy you guys are animals for putting chocolate in your popcorn and i was adamant that it tastes better that way they're worried about the uh the getting your hands all chocolatey the popcorn's warm your your your use a napkin so how long are you holding it in your hand for just like long enough for chocolate to melt that's ridiculous tom exactly it's very clear in and out yes yes yes nimble or you just pour a little bit in at it you know you don't have to dump the whole box anyway anyway we digress we're so excited for everybody to see the movie it like we said loved it what was your first impression of of the film were you familiar with the book at all how did you get introduced to the project uh i did not know i didn't even did i even know it was a book i just got a a very old school traditional phone call from my agent saying do you want to do a rom-com we've got this script they'd love you to come and read and i read it and i thought oh i just really love the character i love what who he was where he ends up his journey um so i said yeah i'll read and then i just fell in love with like working with lily we had to do this chemistry read on zoom which was so strange like sort of like trying to have chemistry so this little sort of screen she's like balanced on this so like i was in london she was in new york and stuff but i just really loved working with her and i loved the director claire and elizabeth i just loved their vibe and i thought god i really really like this and then after i'd been offered it they said by the way it's based on a book the book's quite popular and i just went okay uh and and then and then all the other stuff yeah happened yeah but no i just i just completely fell in love with it as a script as a rom and i'd never done a rom-com doing a rom-com but i really loved what this was saying it's like these i love that it's really like a love story between her and her friend like she's everything lily's character olive does is for her friend on played by rachel um and then there's this sort of like it's like a subplot is the romantic plot and i just really like that and i i loved what it was saying and claire the director she said this really cool thing to me about she said we live in this world where everyone is so disconnected no one's listening to each other no one is if someone's different they're just don't entertain the idea of ever coming around to their point of view she said what i love about this story is it's two people who could not be more different could not be further away from each other through circumstance have to like reach across the great divide between them and hold hands and pretend they're in this relationship but in doing so they're moved and they're changed and they see the other person's point of view and isn't that a great message to have that out there in the world and i thought i did not see that from a rom-com how cool i was like whether you're gonna you might there might be something that strikes a nerve within people where they go oh my god yeah like get out of your own head and into someone else's absolutely and you can tell that you guys handled a story that people love yeah already with so much care and lily seems so wonderful and i feel like you guys have had so much fun together while you know filming promoting we've been loving watching everything that you guys are doing together yes yeah i mean lily's introduced me to the world of social media and all that and i'm which is kind of nuts um but it's been really fun and i think if you can't have fun you should definitely have fun whatever film you're doing but especially romantic comedy talking about love and people getting on and it's just been really really cool and fun yeah and especially with you know with it being on amazon right like the i feel like they have just cornered this kind of rom-com genre the movies the tv shows we're doing full festivals now like you guys got to be a part of all these things yeah did you did you know that it was going to come to you like you guys got to be a part of all these things with all these cool sort of activations no activations yeah no i didn't at all but it's so it's just made me really excited for film and cinema in general just this excitement around it people are just loving it so much and to do something that has like a fan base already before we'd even started was crazy we went to brazil was one of our first stops too those guys are amazing most diehard fans incredible aren't they and they just you just thought my god they're so excited there's nothing but love and yeah it's just it's just it's just it's just it's just it's been it's been really really cool and um yeah i just can't wait for people to see it because it's just a happy lovely film you know yeah yeah definitely and the book the book is different in the sense that it does like you said kind of stray from that traditional rom-com story and the all of her novels i think have a different they got the science element they're a little nerdy but they're fun there's a bit of fan fiction thrown in there now you guys are adamant you didn't know about the fan fiction right so and there is a connection because the fans you know and uh the author has said a little fan fiction it'll we call it what do they call it rye rilo raylo raylo raylo kylo ren and ray ray is daisy ridley and now you like you're like did you just have a moment like whoa when you found this out no it wasn't even it's so funny that people they're like this can't be true yeah truth is stranger than fiction it really was i mean when they mentioned that it was based on uh raylo uh i just assumed that ali hazelwood started writing because she was inspired by that and she thought oh my god i'm gonna write these characters and then realized she loves writing and then just wrote and just went on and on and then you know and then wrote what she wrote when i found out i really did just go oh right that's why she started writing i even mentioned it to daisy i said have you ever heard about this book and she went i think someone mentioned it to me at one point but how cool yeah uh but we really didn't think of it as this big thing until honestly even throughout the film i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't think it was really a thing it wasn't really until the press store started and everyone really really sort of made me aware of like my god yeah okay okay it just feels very like serendipitous for that to it is for that to happen and it does it does sound crazy but at the same time it's uh it's so crazy yeah that it's can't even plan it that you can't even plan it that's such a sort of nuts thing and and i don't think anyone meant it either i think it was i think when lily found out about it she went are you kidding me that's nuts but i'd been cast already hilarious and we just thought wow yeah doing press for this is going to be interesting yeah everyone's gonna bring it up including us we are no different yes yes you know we so while we were sort of doing a little background reading about you and whatnot there's sort of a mixed number on how many siblings you have yeah we went back and which shows how many there are because it's like yeah the difference between two and three you're like this is a bit you know but yeah yeah because i said like you're one of 14 that's it i'm one of 14 one of 14 13 we got to correct your wikipedia page does it say that i'm one of 12 one of 12 someone go in there and fix that yeah yeah someone fixed that yes that is that's a lot of that's a lot of siblings it is did anybody else want to be in the performing arts world or were you the the odd man out my my twin thought about it for a second i think he he how far did he get we like did amateur dramatics for a little bit he did something with me um but no no one really normally wanted to i guess when you have that many siblings you kind of want to find your lane and then just sort of stick to it so there's all kind i've got sisters who are farmers like a dairy farmer a sheep farm man have we got all the farmers teachers you know so i like so many more brothers this is do so many different things i'm the only actor in there but yeah yeah which is surprising really i would have thought you got that many yeah you're gonna double up maybe a family business yeah it's like yeah down the line is your twin an identical twin or fraternal no he's not he's actually in Murder on the Orient Express a film I did 8 years ago 2017 I think oh my god yes Wikipedia is correct he's actually in that he wanted to he wanted to I think they wanted to meet Penelope Cruz him and his wife anyway Ken Ken who's directing he said he was like oh no one's allowed on set but he'd met my twin before because I'd done a show I'd done a play with Kenneth Branagh and he said your twin's not identical is he I said no and he goes let's get him as an extra and then he can meet everyone so he's in the where the train leaves at the beginning of the film he's like in there with his wife Celine that's awesome it would have been a little trippy if it was identical they're like wait a second I'm walking past there yeah yeah that is so fun you know we did the family business thing made me smile that you just said because there was a point where in my gap year when I was auditioning for drama schools and trying to save money to go to drama schools I worked in a restaurant and I got my brother a job there and my twin there and my baby brother Ben still works in restaurant he's a sort of restaurant manager in Oxford where I'm from my twin brother still works in bars and it was quite funny at some point I think someone walked in and they just went you got three of the brothers I was running the bar with my twin and then my baby brother was the sort of manager and it did look like some family business right bring somebody in when you have a premiere and does everybody want an invite like that's a lot of that's a lot of people that's a good question what I do they do I mean also they've all got their own lives too they're like maybe I'll catch you when it gets to streaming exactly if that they're just sort of like are you in a thing at the moment like people keep telling me you're in a thing they did all come again Murder on the Iron Express they did all come to that and that was not all of them but because there's so many and I genuinely it sounds like I had to get a mini bus for them to come off from Oxford to London so it was quite a lot isn't that the best though family humbles you you're like they don't care what I do no no yeah do you have brother and sister you must have how many have you got we're only families of three so I have an older brother an older sister and she has a younger brother we're like the same setup but she's the youngest and I'm the oldest nice do they get excited about what you do I don't know sometimes do you find it's like at the beginning I think it's when you start doing the thing it's their them they celebrate the success of oh you wanted to do this thing just like you guys it's a very competitive industry once you sort of start making some successes they get excited about that for sure but then after a while they kind of go oh yeah you're just doing your thing which I think is great and you know what that's like so we do podcast live shows we will tour and do like in little theaters and it's really fun and when we first started it was like all of our family came like it was like cannot be missed whatever and now that we've been doing it for a few years I text my parents like hey you guys want to come up for the holiday show they're like we'll see we're getting cancellations the day of from the family they're like we're not going to make this one I'm like maybe oh yeah when did you stop loving me do you know my dad said something so my dad is he's a music teacher but he also plays concerts and stuff and sometimes we'd go along to see if he said oh there's this one that you really really like so we go and listen and he said it to me when I did my third play in London in the West End and I got very sort of lucky with timing so I did like three back to back shows in the West End for about a year and a half and the third one I was doing Duchess of Malfi at the Old Vic and he's my mom goes oh when are we going to go up and see it and dad just went oh I think I'm going to miss this one and mom got really upset about it and he said look Tom wanted to be an actor his first two professional jobs we went to see and it's amazing and we know how hard and competitive it is and we went and we supported him he said he's going to be an actor and we can't go and see everything he goes there isn't the time and he said you don't come and see all of my concerts do you it's because you accept it's my job and if there's something that he really wants me to see and dad you'd love this he goes of course I'll come and see it but he said I can't be bothered to go out to London every time because then it also kind of makes it seem like you've won a competition to be there and you know and I think it actually kind of grounded everything a little bit but it does still hurt though right when they go yeah we're not going to come and see this one but sometimes I feel like it takes you know it eases it because there's a little less pressure completely performing in front of strangers I find to be easier than doing it in front of people you know because you're going to see them again they're going to let you know exactly how they feel about it they're going to be very honest you could do great why did you say that thing they're going to stick the one thing that you said wrong but strangers you know you may never see them again completely also I think I wonder if you guys have a version of this but we all have a sort of you know like our work version of ourselves you know what I mean and there's a sort of like a defensive armor that you kind of put on a bit subconsciously but there's a version of yourself that you are when you're at work and when you go home you're very different to blur those lines can be quite strange and it can be quite exposing and I've found like particularly doing live theatre if I'm acting in a play and I know say my twin's watching every time I do anything it might be like I'm reaching out to touch the flower and I'm like Merlin's watching me do that and you see and it kind of like bursts the illusion that you're trying to sort of create and it sort of makes it harder to or you lock eyes don't lock eyes and that's the worst you know when you say something you know because we do a podcast and we riff and you say something inappropriate and you look and you lock eyes with your dad and you go I'm just going to pretend that guy he wasn't I forgot he was here and the amount of conversation you can have just in that one you'll say something lock and there's just a we're going to talk about this later I'm a bit ashamed and you know it too and oh god it all happens so when when do you think you got the acting bug what was the first thing that you did that you thought I want to be an actor jeez I should have had an answer to this question by now I don't really know I remember I remember doing a school play I think it was Dark of the Moon this slightly obscure play about witches and I remember I remember doing it and thinking I only did it to hang out with my friends after school and a few of them were doing it but I remember thinking I don't care about you as much as this random thing this feeling of doing this thing I think it's the camaraderie as well I thought oh my god I feel like I'm part of something and there's just that magic moment it's very film and theatre is quite different but the theatre there's this sort of private bubble where you create and you play and you just do your own thing and then that sort of nervousness before the first night and you just hear the crowd out there but you're all in it together there's honestly no feeling in the world like it and that's what you get addicted to I guess so I guess the answer to that question is just the second I did it I became hooked on it and I remember doing a play years later it was one of the last things I did on stage I was playing Corey Alanis Shakespeare's Corey Alanis up at the Sheffield Crucible in England and I remember the show started I hadn't done a play in like five years and the play started with me underneath the stage and I sort of come up I remember sat there there's the little light blinking that the stage manager you click it to say yeah I'm in place and I clicked the button and I thought what the hell am I doing why am I doing this I feel so sick so nervous so scared and as luck would have it when the show finished I ended up underneath the stage again my character's being killed and I came on the stage and just before I had to go on for the bow and it's so interesting the book ends of thinking why the hell am I doing this I want to run away and never be seen again and then at the end is the answer to that question I went that's why you do it that feeling I don't really I can't put it into words but it's the magic of it and it's not really a feeling of relief but you're proud of yourself which is but it's like an extraordinary feeling to feel about yourself because I feel like we can all be hard on ourselves so you're like I did the thing and I loved it and you worked hard at it and that's so fulfilling completely yeah and I think just connecting to something bigger than yourself too is so I would say again like the world we live in today everyone's so separate right and we're all like living our own experience I think what I love so much about what I do what you guys do too there's a communion here like it only exists if you're doing it with someone else you can't do a podcast on your own you can't act on your own you need fellow actors you need a crew you need an audience that is I think the thing that I love so much about it is that you're proud of it but it's like a communal pride of we all did this even an audience it's like yeah this story that just took place that it only existed because you were there to hear it to see it that magic spell that's cast we're all proud of yeah and it's like being a part of a team and each audience can dictate how different each show is I feel like there's different responses to everything you do I feel like we've really heard about your love of live theater how did that transition to TV and film how different was that for you it was pretty I mean it was always something I wanted to do only because I didn't really grow up with much theater you know I couldn't afford it but film and television it was always something I loved and became obsessed with just any element of storytelling I always love reading books and stuff so it wasn't that big a transition from one to the other just opportunity I think but I remember feeling this the big difference for me was the level to which of detail in theater you have to create everything yourself like and you have to create this illusion and it's this spell that's cast that's very that's why we love theater you step onto a film set and everything is real it smells real you're on location if it's cold you're cold if you're hot you're hot like it's all just real and there to to be sort of discovered in the moment and that's something that I became very very addicted to that sort of the immediacy right there but I can't quite remember where it was really where it sort of happened I think I still remember I think I sort of like slowly got sort of bigger parts and stuff and then and then started to do film and one of my favorite roles that you have done was based on a true story which I thought was so fun such an interesting character bad guy bad guy yeah misunderstood guy misunderstood serial killer you kind of root for him like you know it was one of those things that I think the reaction in the first season is so fun when you figure out what's going on what was that like for you kind of uncovering that character and figuring how you were going to play that well it was that's why I wanted to do it because I remember thinking what do you want here like the casting process is quite rigorous and they i think it's because they didn't know they're like do we want a terrifying guy or a funny guy a lovable guy not a lovable guy and i think they landed on all of the above which was really fun to play and i remember like reading with chris messina um they sort of flew me out to a chemistry with him and i really loved it because they kept going now do it like this now do like this now do both at the same time that's and that's why i wanted to do the show i thought this is super fun just doing that um yeah that's a fun show yeah it was very fun i think it came across exactly how you described like you love him but hate him but don't you don't hate him but you should it's all of those things yeah yeah that is that is very true i feel like when you and and breaking in to television now that feels like there's not as much of a divide because you can stream everything and they're so big where it's like english tv american tv probably when we were growing up it felt very different yeah yeah now everyone's kind of watching the same things like you know we can all watch the gentleman on netflix and we can all like it's like you know we can all do our discern discern here or there but was there any american television that you grew up absolutely loving or wanting to be a part of oh yeah i mean well when i was a kid i remember we used to what it was like the simpsons buffy the vampire slayer and fresh prince of bel-air they were they were sort of like 6 p.m till like 7 30 just um and i loved all of them um but no not really no not really it was like film films and stuff i never really thought my god i wanted because i was quite late you know you sort of meet a lot of actors they knew when they were five or six or whatever they started doing it i was kind of late it was my like 17 18 and when i realized this could be a thing but um i always loved american stuff so much i just loved the world of it and still coming here now driving around new york i think my god i would like been watching films and tv set in new york all my life to be here it's real man yeah you made it you know did you feel sometimes we need that yeah we do to be reminded because we're here every day yeah yeah like romanticizing new yorkers i'm a i'm about outside yeah i'm about to be again oh yeah you're moving back well i'm we're i'm from new york she's from new jersey i'm from new jersey but i've been living living in manhattan for now over 10 years so you know people say that the 10-year mark is like when you can call yourself a new yorker the real new yorkers say you have to be born here to be a real new yorker so we kind of did a swap that i've been but now i'm coming back to new york which is why i have that same excitement as you now where i'm like ah i'm in new york yeah yes exactly you know you mentioned starting at an older age than most people do you know 17 18 years old when people start they start really young did you feel like you were at a disadvantage at all or did you feel okay like you know what it's good i started at a later age hey i've never thought about that no i mean no i don't really i mean i do i got a bit these i think this thing i'm filming at the moment i'm filming harlan coban's newest thing for netflix called the woods and there are people in it younger than me who've been acting longer than me which is a bit of a head screw you go oh my god that's so strange they went yeah i started acting when i was six i thought my god you've had you've had like 10 years on me and they you know uh but i never saw myself as a a disadvantage i think you can i've always been a bit of a i've just sort of seen my my path as my path and remember someone very early on in my life saying never look sideways like it's very tempting to go wow what are they doing i wish i could have some of that but you go he put it if you look sideways you're going to crash into something like just stay looking at what you're doing and just enjoy your journey um but there there are you know we're also working in an industry where you kind of have to you have to sort of build and keep you know i mean the opportunities hopefully you should you like keep working they come to you more and more the more you work the more opportunities you get to have sometimes if someone started at eight by the time they're like 18 they've been kicking around for 10 years you know and everyone knows who they are um but i am where i am and i wouldn't change a thing yeah yeah what did you what did you take or learn from lily because kind of like you mentioned someone who was thrust into it pretty early and like and it was maybe you know first couple things you're doing or first thing you're doing with her with riverdale and it blew up where she was just like instantly famous yeah did you kind of get any tips from her of how of how she's dealt with it all a little bit i mean she's sort of she protects herself a lot but i think it's one of the reasons that she's so um in her words chronically online i think she likes to be able to control the narrative around her i think because so much of the control was taken away from her um which is what happens when you sort of like you say you sort of thrust into that fame and one of the things i have taken from her i i said it's to her the first time the other day she's so amazing at like just being healthy with her boundaries what she wants and what she needs in a professional situation and it can be so easy to just like give everyone what they want from you because we're all very grateful to be here so you kind of go yeah yeah yeah i'll do these things lily's so good at just going no way i want it like this hang on she's really great at doing that it shows a great strength and confidence and i know that she has to work at it um because she'll often afterwards go oh god i can't believe i had to say that but you go you did it so well in the moment i just go wow we both be doing like posing for something thinking like i feel like an absolute idiot here and she's the one that goes hang on this feels stupid can we just go back and sort of um and i greatly admire that about her and and uh wish i could have a little yeah i mean that is absolutely something to admire and something we could all learn from i yeah i've heard her talk about that a bit online where she said that she puts it in her contracts that she does her her makeup and you know sometimes i feel like as an actor you could walk on there like we're going to make you look a certain way but she has a lot of her boundaries and that's incredible and something to highly respect absolutely absolutely and and i like that like you know she's an executive producer on the project and there's certain things i know that she was locked in for the for love hypothesis and then you guys did your chemistry reason she had to kind of pick or help pick yeah who was going to star across from her um which is a lot of pressure i think to be like and and was there was there any pressure on your end that you're like oh she's kind of the one who's she's my yeah she's kind of the one who's going to pick me here yeah a little bit i mean when we ultimately when we did the chemistry read even though it was me wanting to get the job you know and i knew they were reading other guys so i was thinking like oh i want to do my best job you're also sussing out would i want to work with these people because should they offer it to you you also got to go did i like that and i just loved working with her so much she gave up i think she was doing a movie at the time and she was just so present and she herself i remember we'd done two two or three and she went the producers never went okay we're gonna move on and she went hang on hang on can we just do another one where me and tom were just like impro and i love her for this because not only did it give me another shot at it we could show something else but it let me feel like we were teammates instead of because at first i did think i was like she's also would be my boss she's she's your producer on it but she never felt that way she just felt like throughout the whole of the shoot she just had um such great care for it and it was never a there was never a lot of aversion where she was like producer lily or not she was just wanting it to be the best that it could be the whole time yeah yeah i feel like you can feel that from watching from watching it too i read that you kind of compared these characters uh to mr darcy and elizabeth bennett that there you get some of that feel from these two which i totally see while you were while you were playing the role did you pull any information information any inspiration computer uh did you pull any inspiration from that character yeah like it was really his start point and i mean he was kind of pitched to me like that you know my agent said he said he's kind of a mr darcy misunderstood they think he's this one thing um and then sort of slowly you peel back the layers he's like it's a mr darcy sort of arc um and hell yeah i did i sort of i went back and watched i love the colin firth one very much and he's great matthew mcfadden all hail he's one of the greats that's my favorite one um yes yeah there's a new one coming out too which is your favorite one yeah yeah yes but i i did i went and watched them and i thought i was i thought yeah it's just like watching that arc sort of grow and sort of the moments that the character is uh revealing something to other people but also revealing it to himself going my god what does it feel like to sort of maybe let someone in a little bit so uh i did yeah it was that's good fun yeah that is fun and you're also playing a scientist and it's funny because i think as a viewer i watch it and when there was words being thrown out i'm like i couldn't i have absolutely no idea what they're talking about did you know anything when when it got to the real stuff it's all fake it's all lies um i tell you the one of the hardest things i've ever genuinely had to do was the first day on this it was one of the hottest days in montreal they hadn't worked out the ac unit no one really knew each other we were very stressed i was a little bit jet lagged still and i had to do this scene where i'm setting up the premise of the the hypothesis where i say yeah let's date each other yeah and i have to just reel off pages and pages of science and it was i remember thinking this is actors have you know the actor's nightmare where you're on set and you don't know any of your lines and they go action and you're going what do i do yeah this was real for me in this moment i went oh my god the cameras are rolling this is real and i have no idea how i'm going to get through this moment it's like language you can't really fake completely you can't change the language of it emotional hook to it yeah it's just me just talking out right and it's not like something where they go yes improv that's great just a bit of improv yeah chemistry uh so yeah i had to i i met a version of myself that day i had to dig deep and i went oh god this is what you do when you're terrified yeah this is how you do it what is that like right like you're you're filming and you forget your line and you want to remember it so badly but you have to ask right you what do you you're like i don't remember is that is that a real thing do you know what i don't in that one i i just sort of it was more in that moment for me it was more um keep the cameras rolling don't shout at me let me just find because i knew it was in there too you know what i mean i'd worked really hard at it and i'd got it under my belt it just happened to be the first day of the shoot where you kind of on a roller coaster anyway but um and we did we sort of got it we sort of got there but it is a yeah yeah it's a it's a thing right like you must have a version of it right what's in your guys job there must be a version where you're going oh god what am i doing here so we say something then we go no you gotta cut that it's more so i i leave and then at 12 a.m at night this happened last night i text them and go can you guys before this episode goes live can you please cut that out because i just remembered i said it and then i go i am so sorry i deeply apologize and then i say but this is your job so can you please cut it out it's a hard back and forth i you know what did you say um i can't i can't because i'm gonna cut it out she can't tell the story again or else it will be and then i'm gonna make their jobs harder again but yes that does happen and you know i think a podcast obviously allows for us to get into laughing fits where we joke around we keep that in and we're like oh my god i'm gonna cut that out because the audience feels like they're sitting here with us but as an actor you you get into a laughing fit and it could be fun for the moment and you have a blooper but then does it feel like oh no we're wasting people's time on set they want to get this done because i've thought about that oh how fun that must be to get into a blooper laughing fit and then i'm like wait no you're an asshole there's people working around you on set and you're taking up their valuable time yeah mike's not gonna get to say good night to his kid tonight because we were having so much fun it's not true and that's when you do sort of go god i hate actors yeah so much um i did have one on a on my first uh play my first professional job i was doing much about nothing in the west end and my i had to cue this huge scene change revolving scene thing i could not say my line because i was laughing so hard because this wonderful actor elliot levy just intentionally tried to make me laugh it was successful nailed it and i couldn't do it and it was awful because i was laughing so i remember thinking they're not gonna notice but it went on so long that the audience they started like coughing and stuff i'm just going there's just silence and i don't think they found it very funny and that was that was one of the i can close my eyes and go back when nobody else is in on the joke but you and your friends like being in school and you and your friend you can't stop laughing but the teacher's getting mad and you start laughing more yeah it's like it must be a word for that it's the most delicious feeling in the world oh my god it really is just the feeling of the biggest mosquito bite or something it's such a good feeling just not being able to stop and and then sometimes it goes on too long and you're like okay it's over now you have to you have to realize when the moment and there's like a come down which i'm bad then you get the second wave you're like yeah now they're pissed with me and i'm now i'm laughing about that and then 20 minutes later you bring it back up but i'd imagine you know the people on set they're like we can't even hear what they said that was funny like let's get let's get to show let's be honest usually it's not funny yeah i mean if you're doing something with steve carell or tina fey and they're riffing and they're improv and they're making you laugh 100 you're probably having the boom operator and when it's just silly old me being an idiot it's not so it's not so cute oh you said that you know maybe rom-coms weren't on your radar do you have any dream project in mind is there some a certain role that you're dying to play like you're waiting for it to come across your desk i should have an answer to that as well shouldn't i um i did i'm obsessed with olivia wilde as a filmmaker i think she's so so good have you seen that new film oh my god it was incredible she's so good i want it i and i want it i'd love to have just like being able to just be on set watching how she did that and how she's a master class in both acting and directing everything and it's just stunt and all of them like the performance she's got out of everyone just the film itself anything olivia wilde would do i would i would cut off my arm to be part of but there's not it's a funny thing i wonder if you guys do have a version of it of it's hard to know like what's the dream role because you go well i don't know until i see it yeah and i don't and my favorite things i've been in like i didn't know the love hypothesis before it just sort of came your way and this thing i'm filming at the moment um harlan coben's thing for netflix i didn't know
