Do We Need a How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days Sequel? + Love Island USA Reunion Could Be a Letdown

In this episode of "Chicks in the Office," hosts Rianne and Fran open with a serious discussion about a violent altercation at their New York office. An Uber Eats driver refused to deliver Gia's food, leading to a confrontation with security guard Dan, who was brutally attacked and hospitalized with a broken rib and collapsed lung. The hosts express shock at online narratives blaming Gia, emphasizing the driver's arrest and Dan's recovery. They also mourn Dolly Parton's death at 80, praising her as a beloved legend. In entertainment news, they lament Hulu's cancellation of Mindy Kaling's "Not Suitable for Work" after one season, arguing shows deserve more time. They're excited about Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson's new Apple TV series "Brothers," exploring their possible half-brother connection, and a "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" sequel, though they worry about ruining the original. The pop corner includes caller hot takes on Love Island reunion timing, therapist confidentiality regarding celebrity gossip, and speculation about Belmont Cameli distancing from his castmates, which the hosts attribute to boundary-setting amid fame. The episode concludes with a trivia game where guests Michaela and Marissa beat the hosts in overtime, with questions covering pop culture, TV shows, and movies. The hosts sign off, promising a return Monday with a new studio look.

Happy Wednesday, everybody. This is our last episode of this week before we return on Monday. So just a little programming note there before we get into today's episode. But how are we feeling today? It's Wednesday. Today's my dad's birthday. Happy birthday. Big one. Not to reveal how old he is, but it's a big birthday, so. Big happy birthday. Yes. Very just excited to have some family time, and that's it. That's really about it. I don't have anything that new. My grandma's coming up. My sister, Gia's coming up. You know, Gia's had a crazy week. Some shit went down. She had a crazy week. I have bar stool. HQ New York this week. Kind of gone viral. Yeah, it really did. And you know, like, the very short summary of it, if you didn't catch it online, was Gia had an Uber Eats delivery guy show up, basically refused to give her her food. She could see the food in his hand, was trying to leave with the food. Dan, our security guard, came out there arguing. The Uber Eats driver threw the drink into, at both of them, which then proceeded to start a. A full-blown brawl. The Uber Eats driver was in a massive helmet, knee pads, shin guards, it looked like. He was crazy. And really, really, honestly, very, very scary. And he was just, like, really attacking Dan and some of the other guys in the office that had to come and help. And they pinned him down until the cops came, and it was really bad. Dan has broken rib, collapsed lung, had to get stitches. He's in the hospital. Yeah, he's still in the hospital. So, you know, rooting for Dan here. He's in a lot of pain. But, yeah, it was an insane situation. Just really crazy. Now it's all over online. The one part that I can't get out of my head, just besides the scariness of the situation, is that I feel like, when you just look at this, like, they're all at a campfire in Chicago, sitting around, roasting marshmallows, sitting around. Singing campfire songs. And then back in New York, we got guys getting assaulted at the office. Like, it's like, you know, obviously much more, but cheaper by the dozen, too, when the houses are going back and forth. It's just insane. Just insane. The whole situation is crazy. Yeah, I kind of wasn't sure that we were going to even, like, put it out there publicly because the cops, like, are involved. So I wasn't really sure. How that was going to happen. Obviously, it got into Dave's hand eventually. Yeah. And he shared it as well, which is, it was obviously very scary. And it was very scary for Gia. And Gia's getting, somehow, it's like, people are blaming Gia. It's so ridiculous. I mean, the internet just really knows how to just flip things in a way that you can't even seem to understand. I mean, if the Uber Eats driver is delivering the food, and it says Gia's name on it, and then he's going to deliver the food, then decides, I'm going to turn around with the food, and then Gia says, oh, hey, that's my food. You have my food. And he says, no, I don't. And you're like, yes, you do. I see my name. I see it in your hand. I don't understand how this is being flipped into somehow this being Gia's fault. It really does go to show that, like, when clips go viral like this, and everyone has an opinion on it, it's so interesting when you actually are, when you know the person that is there. Like, we know what happened. Because we spoke to everybody, and it's my sister, and we know what happened. And it's crazy to see when something goes viral, it's like, now there's 900 different narratives of what was going on. Like, it was like, people have spun it in all these different directions. It was stage. It was Dan's fault first. Like, there's all these different stories going around. When realistically, this guy, and it makes no sense. Because, like, people are like, well, why didn't he just get the food? We don't know. We don't know. But in his, I will say, it has happened before, where Uber Eats drivers will take a picture of food, pretending like they dropped it off, and then take it away. Like, that has happened. So, I mean, maybe somebody's never seen that happen before. Still, I don't know how it ends up being blamed on Gia whatsoever. It makes no sense. It makes no sense. And then Dan just stepped in, as security does, to be like, hey, man, what's going on here? Yeah. And then he just got completely assaulted. It's insane. And like I said, the guy had a massive helmet on and was bashing him in. Right. It's just insane. The videos are insane. As scary as it is, on the other side of that, the videos that Dave keeps posting of Tommy, of Tommy going to, like, look at the situation. Yeah. And then just, like, scratch his head, run away. Yeah, just, like, move, walk out of there. When he initially, like, said in one of our texts, like, it's a bad look, I didn't see the video yet. And then it's, like, comically, like, like, you would have thought that this was staged just out of that. Because, like, the way that he's, like, hiding behind the desk. Like, and no one else. It's like, he's, at that point, the guy is, like, pinned to the ground. And there's, like, ten people around him. It's insane. And he's still, like, hiding behind the desk. The most absurd part is that girls are DMing Tommy being, like, somehow being attracted to this. Like, they're, like, DMing him, like, I loved the way that you scanned the perimeter. I love the way that you did nothing. I love the way that, like, I got a glimpse into you, like, if I ever got assaulted, of how you would run away. Of how you would not protect me. I'm like, what? Like, it's just, oh, man. It's just, it's just insane. But, um, hopefully, hopefully Dan gets better. Yeah, seriously. And, yeah, I mean, what a crazy guy. Like, that's just insane. Yeah, yeah. I saw, I saw people saying, um, like, uh, to Gia. I saw she wrote back to somebody on TikTok. They were like, did you leave a bad tip? And she was like, no, I didn't leave a bad tip. But even if I did, that would mean my security guard should be assaulted. Like, that's, that doesn't add up. The jump is really, it's like, oh, people saying, oh, good thing she's yelling. It's like, well, what the fuck is she supposed to do? Jump in there? Like, I, I, that was, it's crazy, crazy, crazy. And you know what event, like, the cops are able to use that footage. It is helpful. And this guy did get arrested. So it's just, and like, and Dan, he put Dan in the, like, in the hospital badly. Yeah. So. Well, yeah. I mean, just shout out Dan, Gaz, Gaz. The social guy, the social guy is really, I will say that's, that's the, that's the best look that Gaz has had in a long, like, because I watched the video back and I was like, whose arm is that? That like pulled him back. Like he really got the guy off of him. And when I realized it was Gaz, I was like, damn, all those, all those arm days are paying off. Hell yeah, Gaz. All those burgers at Fort Charles are beefing those arms up. Yeah. Seriously. Seriously. But in all seriousness, like, and it really was so scary. I mean, Gia texted us right after. She was so rattled because that is actually so terrifying, especially now knowing, you know, that Dan is, is in the hospital. Like it's, it's not even really, you know, you're like, oh, it's okay. Cause everyone's okay. And thank God he is okay. But he is not okay. He's also not okay. Yeah. Right. So, yeah. Um, but yeah, that was, yeah, that's what's going on in New York. Yeah. Pretty wild. I mean, pretty wild. None of us were there. That must have been why he chose to strike because we weren't there. Yeah. You knew the tough guys were out of the office. Oh, chicks in the office team is gone. Well, this is the time. Yeah. Yeah. So that's what's going on there. And then everyone in, in Chicago is swimming in the lake. Yeah. They're at summer camp. Oh man. Um, but all in all, I'm glad for the most part, everybody's okay. And Dan will be, Dan will be okay. Shout out Dan. Yeah. Um, I would have liked to have seen what security Mike feels about the situation. Uh, just because security Mike head security, I would like to get his thoughts on the situation. I did think about texting him. Um, I want to, I want to know his thoughts. Just from a pure. like security guy standpoint, you know? Right. We know Mike, he probably has a lot to say about this situation. Yeah. Yeah. It's hard to de-escalate when the guy is, you know. For sure. No, I'm not saying anything against Dan. I'm just saying, like, Mike is the head of security, so I would want to know what he's got to say about all this. Yeah, for sure. But, yeah, it's hard when you're being pummeled by this guy. It's insane, just absolutely insane. But, yeah, that's what's going on. And really nothing from my end, just chilling. People think I'm at the summer house house or the old summer house house. I'm not. I was getting a ton of messages yesterday, like, is that the old summer house house? I'm like, huh, no. It didn't even look like that. No, well, I think just, like, the siding here, a lot of houses have this, like, same siding. Yeah, yeah. Or people were asking if I was at the summer or a pretty house. I'm like, what? You think I'm at Cousins? Shit. You're at Cousins Beach? I don't know. Listen, I'll let them think that, but I am not. Sorry to you guys that the John Mayer thing seems to not have come through. It's not happening. I actually had a thought yesterday of, like, maybe Rhea and Marty are going and just didn't have the heart to tell me. And I would have been okay with that. Although, if you are going, just tell me. Because I would be jealous, but I would be happy for you. I would have told you by now. I told you that Marty's aunts and uncles are coming over tomorrow, and then I invited you over. Like, why would I invite you over if I was going? That was after, but either way, like, yeah, yeah. Imagine I'm just hanging out with Marty's family while you guys go. I literally said to you guys, like, come over. Part of me is still like, something's going to happen last second. Rhea and Marty are going to go. I do not believe so. I don't think so. And that's all right. I've accepted that. Yeah. I think that's fair. It is what it is. We'll just hear him. I'm sure we'll hear his voice floating in the wind. Maybe you should just go, like, stand outside. That's probably not, like, soundproof. You're right. Jesse Solomon sang there Sunday night. Yeah. What a lineup this week. Right? Like, Jesse Solomon's like, I'm pre-John Mayer. It's pretty much John Mayer's opening act. Yeah, pretty much for the week. Yeah. It's crazy. Well, no. Maybe we could stop by on Thursday night and go kiss the stage that he walked on. Yeah. Maybe we could, like, I could get, like, a guitar pick or something. Right. Find some sort of crumb he left behind. You could just, like, go and just start asking everybody questions. All the bartenders. What did he smell like? The guys at the front. Who came? Who'd you see? Who was here? Guys. Guys. I made something yesterday. That I'd imagine is what crack feels like. Because, holy shit, addicting. I made corn butter. Yeah. Fucking hell, mate. Oh, my God. I would slather that shit on anything. Anything. It was so good. I made corn butter on a toasted baguette. I made the pan con tomate as well. Put it on top of the corn butter. The combination, literally tingling. My senses were tingling. I would put corn butter on freaking anything. One of the best things I ever made. Butter is just a great thing. We did clams right on the grill. JB did some sort of, like, truffle butter. Oh. Really fantastic. Any way you can jazz up a butter, it's just delicious. Yeah. I love, yeah, that's, yeah, it's good stuff. I love, you gotta love the, like, vacation food. Like, the spreads that you make when you're in a house. You have all that freedom. And you got the good farms nearby, the good fresh stuff. The tomatoes are fantastic right now. And so are the corn. Yeah. Fresh tomatoes, fresh corn, all the good stuff. All right. Let's get into today's topics. Although, sadly, before we do that, we have to mention Dolly Parton passing away at the age of 80. So freaking sad. Just an absolute icon. Just so sad. I know she had been dealing with some health issues, but she kept it pretty private. Yeah. Which is just, it's heartbreaking. I was just losing a legend. Yeah. She is probably the, there's only so many people that are just beloved by everybody. It's a universal love. And she is one of them. She is really just incredible. And it is heartbreaking because she lost her husband. And then she had been fairly vocal that, like, while she was taking care of him, she wasn't necessarily doing the best job of taking care of herself. And I think there was maybe some health things that she was ignoring. There's been some, she's had to do some care. There's been some cancellations this year and it definitely raised some eyebrows about, about her health. And then now they're reporting that there's maybe some like kidney or auto, autoimmune issues that she was having. And then you get the news from her nephew that worked for her for a very long time that she passed. And it was a beautiful video. Just said, you know, amazing things about her and the family and everything she's done. And she will be remembered. She will be remembered so well. You know, the legend that she is, she will be honored. And she was on one of those that just, like I said, everybody loves. And it's sad because it's just like, she's one of those ladies that you're like, she deserves to live to 150. You know, like, how do we make her live to 150? Extremely well said. I think she's just one of those people you assume is going to live forever. Yeah. She's just that kind of person, that kind of legend. So it's just incredibly, really sad. I know. And it's like, as you get older, this is something that I think a lot of people just deal with, with, with age is like, as you get older and you realize that that number is not that old. Like, you know, I hear 80. I'm like, Oh my God, it's not even that old. But if you were to ask like 15 year old me, I've been like 80. That's so old. But it's, you know, you get your, once your parents get older, your grandparents get older, all these things you're like, Oh my God, I just wish that this wasn't, you know, it's not as discussed. Cause you're like, Oh, that's, that's old. It's like, no, it's not. It's not. I absolutely, I absolutely agree with you. I really think once you get older, the time goes back more and more on what you think is, because even, you know, parents in their sixties right now, I'm like, that's young. Yeah. Like that is very young. So 80 also seems young as well. Just very, very sad. It is. We love, love, love Dolly. Just an absolute, absolute legend. You know, it's so sad. My, I don't know why this was my immediate thought, but I'm sure you could relate. I was like, how did Miley take this news? Yeah. Yeah. Like I just immediately was like, how is Miley Cyrus right now? Um, but just so sad. Yeah. Uh, we're going to get into the rest of the topics for today, which is really just a programming note about other TV shows and movies that are happening. Yes. To discuss this week. We have the pop corner and we have a great game of trivia. So let's get into it. This podcast is brought to you by no bull. Noble is Barstool's favorite footwear brand. I was devastated to see this news not suitable for work on Hulu. Mindy Kaling's new show was canceled after one season. I love it. I loved this show. I loved it. I was so excited to watch week to week and yet canceled. I'm so bummed. I saw Mindy Kaling post about it. She posted the cast. She said she loved writing the show, working on the show, love the cast of the show. And it's just, it's a bummer. I'm, I'm really hoping that some other streaming service takes it over and buys it because I just, I don't understand it. It left on a cliffhanger. That is also the worst and hand up. I got to say like when this happens, when a season after one show, like when a show like this gets canceled and it's a show that that I can consistently was like, oh, I'm going to watch that. I'm going to watch that. Just like never got to it. You got to look yourself in the mirror and think, oh, you didn't watch? My fault. Sorry, guys. I never finished either. I never watched. I only watched like a couple episodes. So I'm looking at you two. I'm looking at you two. That's why I just said hands up. It's our fault. Here's the thing. How many people need to watch the show for it to be like worth Hulu? Like, I don't know. Every time I opened Hulu, it was in the top shows, I felt like. Like it was always there. And what I'd imagine is happening, and this is just a guess, adults is also on Hulu, right? Yes. I feel like maybe they think adults and not suitable for work are too similar. I think that that's. This town ain't big enough for the both of us? Could be. Me and Madeline Klein, I guess, like Chase said, you know? But I just, I think that maybe that's why. It was right at the top every time, each week. Every time. And the amount of people that are upset in the comments of Hulu, like if this is the amount of people that watch or whatever, how is it not renewed? I don't understand. I don't get it either too. And it's like, also, I just feel Mindy has the reputation and her work speaks for itself that she deserves to have multiple seasons. Like no matter what, if you were signing on for a Mindy show, like you should be signing on. You should be signing on for multiple seasons because the shows only ever get better. And I feel like she's got the short end of the stick multiple times on this. Like I'll never forget when the Mindy project got canceled and then it moved to a different, like, and I was furious. I was like, that show was amazing. So it's happened a couple of times where you're just like, oh, come on. I feel like this show could work on other platforms. Absolutely. This could be on Peacock. This could be on Netflix. Totally. Come on, guys. And I feel like Mindy Kaling has that kind of pull to just be like, I'm going to do whatever I want, but I guess not. I know. Like I thought that she was safe from this. Well, this was like when High Fidelity got canceled on Hulu too and Zoe Kravitz. Like they always do this. Like people like, even if it's not the most popular show in the world, like I feel like these shows that have these like loyal fans that like this, maybe not like niche. It's a little niche, I guess, but like they just don't care. I feel like Hulu's really quick to do this. I agree. Why can't you let it breathe for one more season and then cancel? I think a show needs at least two seasons before you decide it's a bad show. Apple TV will have a show going for five seasons that no one even knows about. I know, but I feel like you need a show going for at least two seasons. I mean, we talk about watching shows and how you are very adamant that if you don't like the first season, you got to continue because the first season is never the best season. And if we're going to go by that, then we should have at least two seasons before a show. It gets canceled because nobody's favorite season is ever the first season of a show. I don't think. Yeah. Right? Unless it's the ones that are like. Unless it's like succession. Yeah, yeah. Like unless they're the really intense dramas. Like I think of like, I can't even think of one thing right now. But no sitcom. Are you ever like the first season is my favorite season? Correct. Like a sitcom, a 30 minute show, a procedural, like any of those or like a teen drama, any of those shows, I feel like they need a little buildup. This show had to have cost nothing to make. Right. We could have shot this show ourselves on no budget in our apartment buildings. Like this had to cost nothing. Gigi Hadid's cameo probably cost the most out of this entire season. You're definitely right. I was very surprised by this. I don't think Hulu's given this, given this the right amount of, of chance. Cause I, you know, right now it feels like Hulu's investing so much in unscripted stuff. Like I feel like there's so much, so many random like reality shows that they're really pushing over there. When it's like, give some love to the scripted, give them a chance. Give them a chance. Give them a chance. Super bummed about this. But on the other side of that, I am so excited about Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Coming together for an Apple TV original called Brothers. Yeah. Which explores them thinking that they might be half siblings. Yes. Because Matthew McConaughey's mom might've slept with Woody Harrelson's dad or something like that. Listen, I haven't done enough research on this, but I'm pretty sure I saw, now I'm, I'm doing some Googling. Woody Harrelson's dad was, I think not, not a great guy. I can't speak on his behavior. I think Woody Harrelson's dad may have been a hit man. Oh, that's as bad as it gets. Really? Charles Harrelson was an American contract killer and organized crime figure who was convicted of assassinating a federal judge. The first, federal judge assassinated in the 20th century. Oh. So that's Woody Harrelson's father. Yeah. Now if Matthew McConaughey's mom slept with Woody Harrelson's father, that would be nuts. Yes. They did this though. Like didn't they do the DNA test and everything? I think that this show is just like a fun play on it. Like a whole show on that joke because there was a moment when they all did think it was maybe true. Right. Because they do play themselves. That is awesome. You know, they are playing, they are playing themselves in this television show. I love a good play yourself show. Like a character. Because it always makes you think of Curb. Yeah. And it's also just like a character of yourself. Like, yeah. Yeah. There is speculation that Matthew McConaughey's mother and Woody Harrelson's father may have had a brief relationship, but it is not true. It has not been confirmed by DNA testing. Matthew McConaughey has shared that his mother, Mary Kathleen McCabe, once told Woody Harrelson, I knew your father, which sparked curiosity about a possible intimate connection between her and Harrelson's father. The ellipsis in her statement left room for interpretations, leaving both actors consider the possibility it could be half brothers. The timeline adds to the speculation. When McConaughey was born in 1969, his father reportedly refused to accompany his mother in the hospital, saying, that ain't my son. Okay, by the way, this is just like what's popping up at the top of Google. Okay, so they think that, they think it would be where Matthew McConaughey, where they have the same dad. So they don't believe. Right. That Woody Harrelson's crime father is Matthew McConaughey's dad. Real dad. Yeah, because I was going to say like, I would think that Matthew McConaughey's mother would remember if she was a mother. If she gave birth to Woody Harrelson, you know what I'm saying? If that's like where the connection was, they could be like, oh, but I get what you're saying where it's like the dad could be Matthew McConaughey's dad. Yes. Like Woody Harrelson's dad could be Matthew McConaughey's dad. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Now if they both have this crime-ridden father, this would be nuts. Nuts. Well, it makes for a great TV show premise, which is probably why they don't want to actually find out the truth. You know, this could be solved by a simple DNA test. When you put their pictures side by side, like their yearbook pictures. No, they do look very similar. They do look very similar. Totally. Like side by side. So who knows? But it makes for a great TV show and I am excited about that. And then on the other side of that, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is getting a sequel. Yep. Executive produced by Kate Hudson. Would have been nice if she gave us this little tidbit back then. Back in December. Maybe she didn't know then. But this is exciting. I mean, here's the thing. We're getting all these sequels that we're not asking for because we don't want to ruin the original. But if they're bad, we could just write them off and act like they never happened like Mean Girls 2. Right. That does kind of feel like you got to live in that world where maybe you watch it and then you're like, if that just ruined it, you wipe it from your brain. Right. Because who remembers that Mean Girls 2 even exists? Nobody. Not a lot of people. I mean, Grease 2 as well. I know some people like Grease 2. Well, Sneaky, yeah, there's a big. There's a big Grease 2 fandom. There is very much. And I'm sure there's a big Mean Girls 2 fandom out there. But I like to block out Grease 2 and Mean Girls 2. Yes. Development on the sequels in early stages with the cast and several key creative roles yet to be selected. The intention of the filmmakers and the studio is to have Hudson and her co-star from the original Matthew McConaughey reprise their roles. The project is currently seeking a screenwriter, so casting will depend on the take. So this is like really early on. I mean, we don't even have a script. No script. Anything could happen. Right. And it's like, have those two even really agreed to sign on to do it yet? I don't know. Well, Kate Hudson has. It's like they want. Yeah, it's just like they want them to reprise their roles. Mm-hmm. But if she's attached, I could see her jumping in. Yeah, yeah. Like, if she's producing it, then yeah, I'm sure she would want to, and she would also want Matthew to do it as well. At the same time, time like this is just where i go though because it's like what's the story because i just feel like we get the same story every time with this it's like they just try to make the same movie in a younger with younger main characters but the premise is still the same and then they just throw the original stars in for like some random cameo and the thing is andy anderson already taught us this lesson you know yeah i don't know if we need another magazine columnist yeah doing the same experiment with somebody else right and that's that's like that's what i'm afraid of is that it's just going to be like oh let's take a young maybe they flip it maybe the man that like the the male role is the guy working at the magazine because this is what they would do and it's just like we just don't need that would it be so typical if it was um how to lose a woman in 10 days right like like she's all that she's all that he's yes boy meets world girl meets world like they just change they just flip it and then they're like well now we're doing how to lose a woman in 10 days how to lose a woman in 10 days pretty easy like pretty easy where we can go pretty fast yeah you can lose luke you can lose us real quick we don't need to experiment this yeah so maybe not like a particularly good premise however that is what i am afraid of the path that they will go down and i'm afraid of the path that they will go down and i'm afraid of the path that they will go down is just like let's just do a little reversal and then they it's two young people will make it gen z and then we'll have like andy anderson will play his boss like it's just always something oh yeah they're always like coming in for like the older supportive role yeah yeah yeah we don't need it we don't need it but we love kate hudson so we'll just support anything that's what i'm saying like if you're gonna do the sequel then make it about these two then like i want this movie to be about them right a sequel is a continuation of the sequel to the sequel to the sequel to the sequel to the of this original story in my mind yeah now this is a spin-off yeah if anything yeah well we have no fucking clue because there's no script so right exactly well maybe noah can help kate work on this one yeah get in the lab i'll hit her up maybe i'll hit her up about an almost famous sequel right no i would actually never want that so very fair don't ruin greatness yeah very fair all right that wraps up today's topic something big is coming on september 2nd draft kings game day arrives with massive deals hot takes your voicemails your opinions let's hear about how much you want some more dong in your life play the first voicemail hey i forgot about that damn hey my name is arisha i'm from new york and my hot take is that i don't really care about the love island reunion that's coming out at the end of the month like i just think that i love the characters i love brinity but there just isn't enough drama for a whole reunion to even take place like what are they going to talk about the whole time like i'm personally more invested in like nicolandria drama right now and i don't even remember what happened or anything of you know salaciousness that happened on that last season i feel like they're just going to milk this whole soul thing maybe of like her not getting along with the other islanders but like that's so stupid in my opinion so just want to know your thoughts are you guys looking forward to the reunion do you think that any tea will come out in particular i guess i guess i am i do want to know like if melanie and sincere is still together but it seems like that they are and they're just going to like put up a united front so that's just boring and yeah i just i don't know why they waited so long for the reunion to come out i feel like the hype has kind of died down a little bit that being said love brinity can't wait to see them together um but yeah let me know your thoughts bye i do enjoy the reunion enjoy seeing the brinity clips when they come up with my tiktok you know they're making out in the club they're doing all this i'm like you know good for these two it always confuses me and i know obviously it takes some time to turn around but the normal season they're putting out episodes two days later that's it's it's quick turnaround they filmed this reunion like last week no if not even i get before that so we're waiting all the way to the 31st which i feel like is a lot of dead air when it's already filmed it's like why not put it out earlier because it's not like anything's going to change in between you won't be able to clear any if something happened this week you wouldn't be able to clear it up in the reunion because the reunion's already filmed so i just don't get why they wouldn't just put it out as soon as possible because to be honest i have forgotten about a lot of these people already like yeah i don't have much an opinion because i didn't fully watch this season and so i would have to agree with you guys because i i don't feel like i've seen a lot going on although i didn't continue watching so i i don't think i have a good uh judgment on it yeah i'm much more interested in what's going on with the low island uk people like from this last season that that i've been tracking that i've been tracking way more uh but yeah i feel like they've kind of on purpose have made melanie and sincere sort of like have this mystery of if they're together if they're not together to try and have it all hashed out at the reunion so you do kind of have to wait to see that happen um but i'm interested to see just like what the numbers are like for this reunion if it really has any kind of pop or if people just sort of glaze by it yeah we'll see all right next one hey chicks this is emma from california and i'm calling with a response to ria's therapist question i am a licensed therapist in california and i'm also a girl who just loves pop culture and gossip and i will say perfect but i have not been able to get a chance to talk to you about any kind of pop culture in california or any kind of pop culture in california or any kind of pop culture in california or any kind of pop culture in california i have not googled one of my clients or looked up pictures of them um mostly because we're ethically urged not to do that confidentiality reasons as well as like you don't want to have a bias to how you treat your clients afterwards so i haven't done that but i have had a few clients offer pictures of who they're talking about to give a face to the name and that is really helpful and i love any time a client gives me a little bit more of the the tea or whatever is going on through pictures so if you're a client out there go ahead and show your therapist who you're talking to and i'll see you i also have a question which is for the two of you who would you like to be a therapist for i don't mean like treating mental illness i mean who would you like to gain the long lost pop culture info from by being the one and only person that has all the tea um for me since i'm a swifty i would want to be a therapist of taylor swift obviously mostly because the one pop culture thing that keeps me up at night is what happened between her and olivia rodrigo that is the one thing i just need to know and i wish i was her therapist so that she could just tell me and know i wasn't going to tell anybody else and i would finally have the tea so i want to know who you guys would want to be the therapist for in order to gain a piece of long lost pop culture information there and just keep it to yourselves and who you'd want to know more about love you guys thanks so much love you too that is a great question that's a great question because it's so funny because she's like i don't want to know what mental illness you want to help treat i just want to know which celebrity you want gossip from she's like i i know you guys are not qualified to give any actual help i just like who do you want to open up to like who do you want them to open up to you too i have my answer it's it's and and we've spoken to her twice but let me tell you something like i die for what happened with demi lovato and the jonas brothers like i i like i watch so many tiktoks it comes up on my for you page all the time right now the the demi nick edits i'm getting are uncontrolled i think it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's because of camp rock three and it like got brought up again and people like i saw so many tiktoks of like you all remember joe and demi but let's not forget demi and nick and like all this they're talking about demi song where they're like all the there's just there's just so much that had to have happened that i feel like like i there's so many moments where i would just want to sit down with demi and be like i promise i won't tell anybody but just let like how did that all go down because they were all so close demi and nick were touring together for so long and and shit hit the fan in like such a dramatic way and we know a lot of like the big headlines and like things went sour with they had the same management team things went sour there for a lot of reasons and demi's talked about a lot of it in her documentaries and things like that but i know that there's more to her and nick that i want to know about yeah that's a really great answer and i think it's a really good answer and i think it's a really good answer and i think it's And I think that the first person that popped into my head And the first person is very aligned with that. And it was Selena Gomez. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's really a toss-up. Coin flip between those two. Just so much. So much. I just want to know so much. Yeah. And there's so many. And there's so much, too, because that's all good early Disney lore. But then all at the same time, of course, all the Justin stuff, too. Right. And on the other side of that, if not Selena Gomez, maybe Blake Lively to see if she would refer to Taylor as one of her dragons. Right. In session. Right, right, right. You know, what would she say about that whole thing? Yeah. Taylor is probably a good answer, too. Taylor would be a great answer, too. She does, I feel like, have her toes dipped. She does, I feel like, have her toes dipped in everything, where you could get a lot of answers about other things, because they've gone through her, or she's heard what has happened. She is kind of Disney-adjacent, too, where she could be like, ooh, let me tell you what happened with Demi and Selena. I know all that. I know everything that happened there. I know what happened with Selena. I feel like she just has a lot of information. Mm-hmm. That's so true. I just felt like that was an obvious answer, so I was just trying to, like, pick one. Yeah, I know. For sure. For sure. I was trying to pick around it. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But really, so many. So many. I mean, the list goes on, and I'm trying to think of somebody, like, outside the box. Mm. You know, maybe, like, an older celebrity that's, you know, really been in the business for a long time. Yeah. I would honestly love to be, like, Ellen's therapist. Honestly, like, to see if she comes— Yeah, to see, like, her outlook. Like, what is—does she actually think that she's, like, in the wrong for anything, or— Right. Like, she goes into therapy. She's like, can you believe—can you believe they're all calling me mean? And, like, is her therapist telling her, like, Ellen— All I did was spit on a couple of interns. And then Ellen's, like—I mean, the therapist is like, Ellen. Yeah. Let's do some exercises on this, all right? When you leave here today, we're going to put interns in front of your face. You're going to try to not spit on them. Yeah, there should just be a therapist dedicated to, like— Like, talk show hosts who, like, have been, like, semi-canceled. Like, James Corden, Ellen, like, all these people. Well, I'm sure they do have therapists, but I don't know if they're all sharing the same one. No, no, like, they share one. Like, that's, like, a specific thing you can study to be is, like, talk show host therapist. Canceled talk show host therapist. How do you help them through that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man. Oh, man. Good question. Good question. All right. Let's do one more. I will say, by the way, there were, like, a lot of— There were a lot of people calling in about the therapist thing, and there were some who did say they did look people up. Like, it's not like a— Yeah. Well, the thing is, it's better off you don't play them. Yeah. They didn't reveal their identity. Right. But what if someone hears their voice and goes, that's my fucking therapist? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, true. So true. Hi, Rhea, Fran, and Noah. This is Julianna. I'm calling from Los Angeles, and I just wanted to hear your guys' thoughts on Belmont Camelli and the off-campus cast. And kind of, like, the drama with his girlfriend, because I'm kind of beating into it. I wasn't at first, but I feel like it has literally been everywhere on my threads or my Twitter and my TikToks on how he's kind of separated himself recently from, you know, the cast, like, hanging out. Like, he also was the only one that didn't like or comment on Ella's post about, like, when she sang with Suki Waterhouse. And I feel like I, at first, was not feeding into it and was just kind of like, oh, let them live, whatever. I'm sure they're just co-stars and, like, living different lives and whatever. But now it's, like, popping up so much more of, like, he's not hanging out with them. He's not kind of associating on, like, social media. And I don't know if I'm just, like, feeding into the drama, but wanted to hear your thoughts. Love the show. Love you guys. I've been listening forever. Just love you guys. So, yeah. Excited to hear your guys' thoughts. Love you, too. First, love you, too. Yes, definitely. I have been seeing this as well. The thing is, I don't buy it. I don't buy it because you're not going to see every time somebody hangs out with people. Like, they're off filming a show right now. They are filming the second season. We don't, yeah, maybe we see when they go out to restaurants and they're caught, but I think there's plenty of times they probably hang out at each other's places that they're staying in and kind of stay. They've got to be staying more low-key now because they've gotten so famous so fast. So, I'd imagine that they are, they keep things a little bit more low-key. Maybe he's just, maybe they're just setting a boundary early on between them and fans before it gets out of control like we've seen with other shows. You know, you don't have to comment. Not every single person has to comment on someone's posts. It's such a funny, silly thing now that everyone's like, oh. They didn't comment. That must mean they're mad. Like, they're in person with each other every day filming, so maybe he didn't feel the need, maybe he told her in person. I don't know. Obviously, we all look into those things. I'm not saying I'm above that because I have gone down that road many of times with many people. But I do think what this cast, they, we have to remember they are currently filming. They got wildly famous very, very fast, so they're probably trying to create boundaries. They're significant others and family members were received. They're receiving tons of hate, death threats, etc. So maybe just putting up a boundary, you know, I'm not reading into like cast drama. I'm not, I'm not getting that. Yeah, I agree with you. And it is a vicious cycle that we play into, right? So it's like, oh, social media gets crazy for them. They back away from social media. And then social media is like, there must be more drama because now they're not posting. It's like, well, no, they're not posting because, because every single thing they do on social media gets analyzed and it is, and is, is made into another post and therefore we're pushing them off the platform. Like I find that, especially in the last few months with Belmont and not that, you know, we were following him for that long before that he seemed super active. It just doesn't seem like he's on social media that much. That's just from my, that's from looking at what he posts. Everything that goes up is like very professional. It's like all these editor, it's either like editorial magazine spreads. Or ads, new campaigns. I don't see a lot of like, haha, funny, silly Instagram posts that he's just like having. Now I feel like he's probably put Instagram in a box and it's like, I go on that when I need to post something for work. But it's gotten so crazy that why would I fall into that rabbit hole? Especially when it is with his girlfriend and there's a lot of people saying mean shit about his girlfriend. So I wouldn't be, I wouldn't want to be on there reading it either. Absolutely. When someone is saying horrible things. About the person you love or coming after you and just getting into all the business. You don't want to be a part of that. You don't want to see it. So I totally agree with what you're saying that there's a chance that he might not even have the Instagram app on his phone. And it's currently just trying to like focus on filming the show. Because I can also see these actors being like, wow, we got this once in a lifetime chance to make this show. Now this show has exploded. We want to make sure we give our best for the second season and not get all caught up in the newfound fame. That has come our way. So I could see them being like, you know what? We're staying off social as we film throughout the summer. We're focusing on our job. So, you know, I don't think, I don't want to do to this cast what we've done to many casts before. It's fucking happened with Outer Banks. It's happened with The Summer I Turned Pretty. It's happened with so many shows. And I just, I don't think that's the case here. And I think from what we've heard, I think that everyone gets it. It's a long grade on that cast. And they're just filming the show. I know. I went, I was trying to go back to look, but I didn't, I don't know if it's gone or if it was deleted or whatever. But like, even when they did that Garrett Graham, like lookalike contest, I feel like everybody from the cast was commenting and interacting with it. But Belmont wasn't. But I don't think that meant like Belmont was not happy about it. I just think Belmont's like not seeing it. Right. I mean, if I was Belmont, I'd probably be like, you know what? I'm popping off right now. I'm going to do this. I'm going to log off and just do my job. And he doesn't have to be posting. He is an actor. So, you know, some actors are very active online and some choose not to be. And if you, he might just want to be protecting his piece right now, you know? Agreed. Yeah. I think, I think that's the case. And we should all, we should all just maybe lay off a little bit. Maybe they'll come back. Cause here's the thing. The more we talk about it, the more they're not going to want to post. For sure. For sure. Like don't make a clip. Get the crap out of this. We don't need Belmontian-ness. You know, we don't want to scare them away. Yeah. Seriously. We love you Belmont. Yeah. But yeah, people say horrible shit. Yeah. And it's, it's terrible. And so maybe, maybe it's just a boundary thing. All right. That wraps up the pop quarter. Keep calling in with your hot takes, your voicemails, your opinions. Life is all about choices. You get the question right. You get the point. If you get it wrong, the other team can steal the point. Whoever has the most points at the end wins. To determine who goes first, Noah's going to give us a movie. We're going to guess the Rotten Tomatoes critic score of that movie. Whoever is closest will go first. We just get our own individual guess. We will alternate between teams for guesses. So Noah, what is today's movie? Today's movie is the Sex and the City movie. The first one. The first one. Okay. Okay. So one of you ladies guess first. I'm going to say 37. Yeah. 54. Oh, my turn. I'm going to say 68. 40. Rhea's the closest. 49. Oh, nice. Seems appropriate. I've never seen. Almost right down the middle there. The first one's great. First one is great. It's out in theaters. Okay. Question number one to Rhea and Fran. Shout out Kira from Chicago. If you don't get this one, Fran, I would, I don't know. Finish the next five words of this Jonas Brothers song. I follow you through the dark. Can't get enough. You're the medicine in the pain. You're the medicine, the tattoo inside my brain. Or is it the blank inside my vein? Medicine in my brain, the tattoo inside my brain. Wait, what is it? The medicine inside my. The medicine, you're the medicine and the pain. You're the medicine and the pain, the tattoo inside my pain. Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no. Not tattoo inside my vein. But a tattoo goes inside the vein. Okay. Time's up. Brain. Tattoo inside my brain. Final answer. Correct. Oh, okay. I was like, is it it's fucking vein and I've been saying brain this whole time. Okay. One, nothing. Rhea and Fran. Question number two to Michaela and Marissa. Shout out Jordan from Chicago. Who famously. Who famously dated Cameron Diaz from 2003 to 2007? That's you. I was very young. She's married to one of the Madden brothers now. I almost want to say Ashton Kutcher, but I think that was when he was with Demi. 10 seconds. Might just be her guess. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know why. I feel like Ashton Kutcher is calling to me. I don't think it is him, but. I should say. Ashton Kutcher. Final answer. Incorrect. Rhea and Fran. Derek Jeter. I was going to say Derek Jeter. And then, and then I thought, was it A-Rod? But then I think I'm getting confused. I think it's Derek. Derek Jeter was the first name I thought of. I think it's Derek Jeter. Let's not overthink it. Final answer. Derek Jeter. Final answer. Incorrect. Justin Timberlake. Oh, shut up. You know, I was thinking Justin Timberlake. Did she date Derek Jeter? I feel like she did. I feel like Derek Jeter dated everyone. They briefly linked in the early 2000s is what this says, so. Ah. Doesn't seem like they really like. Oh yeah, she dated Alex Rodriguez from 2010 to 2011. Yes. Oh, okay. So there was A-Rod in there. That was just later. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Still one nothing. And this is to Rhea and Fran. Shout out Mia from Arlington, Virginia. Which actress has been in the following movies? Wedding Crashers. Definitely, maybe. Now You See Me. Isla Fisher. Isla Fisher. Final answer. Correct. I guess that was an easy one. Okay. Two nothing. Rhea and Fran. Question number four to Michaela and Marissa. Shout out Jordan from Chicago again. Put these Black Eyed Peas songs in order of release date, oldest to newest. Pump It, Meet Me Halfway, Where is the Love? Yes. Where is the Love is the oldest. Pump It. Then Pump It and then Meet Me Halfway. Yeah. So final answer. Where is the Love, Pump It, Meet Me Halfway. Correct. Where is the Love is 2003, Pump It's 2006 and Meet Me Halfway is 2009. All right. 2-1 Rhea and Fran. Question number five to them. Shout out Alexis from Kansas City. In off campus, who does Allie dress up as for Halloween? J-Lo. Final answer. Correct. Easy one. Seriously. Yeah, I guess because she did the thing with her in real life. No, because it's in the show. No, I know, but is it that memorable? Yes. Okay. It's like the whole reason she means Dean. Oh, yeah. Who is he? Maverick. Maverick. But they play on the floor and they're like, oh, and she's like, this is my song. Because she's dressed as J-Lo and then he goes over. Okay. 3-1 Rhea and Fran. Question number six to Mikayla and Marissa. Shout out Megan from New York City. What TV show do Debra and her daughter go on in the last season of Hacks? I've never seen Hacks. Assuming it's like a family feud, like a tribute game or something like that. No, I don't think so. I don't know. I don't know. Why else would people go on shows? As only a sister can, you'd be like, no. That doesn't hit. What show? No, if I had to guess. 10 seconds. I don't know. Saturday Night Live. I don't think that's it either. Time is up. Saturday Night Live, final answer. No, it's not that, but. Incorrect. It's Amazing Race. It's Amazing Race. Final answer. Correct. And they're so bad. They get exposed. Yeah. 4-1, Rhea and Fran. Question number seven. Shout out Kira from Chicago again. In How I Met Your Mother, when Ted is telling a story about college, what phrase does he use to replace smoking weed? I don't remember this. How far into the show are you, Rhea? I'm still on season three and he's talked about college before, but I don't, it's not really ringing a bell. I don't know, Cass. I can tell you they went to Wesleyan. Like the devil's lettuce or gardening or something. No, like playing the drums. Why don't I feel like one of them isn't. 15 seconds. I don't know. Playing the drums. Playing the drums. Final answer. Incorrect. Eating a sandwich. Eating a sandwich. I was checking. This is the first time that was used was season three, episode five. Hmm. Okay. I'm not like disappointed that I don't know that one. No, no, no. Okay. 4-1, Rhea and Fran. And this is question number eight to Mikayla and Marissa. Shout out to Rhea and Fran. Shout out to Jordan from Chicago again. What are the names of William and Kate's three kids? George, Charlotte, and Louis. Yeah. George, Charlotte, Louis. Yeah. Correct. I'm glad you said that because I probably would have read it as Louis. That trips me up too. Yeah. It would have been like in Jeopardy where you can spell the answer. Yeah. I'm sure I have it. Yeah. Okay. 4-2, Rhea and Fran. Question number nine. Shout out Matt from Jersey. What Hillary Duff song charted the highest on the Billboard Hot 100? Interesting question. My guess would be Come Clean just because of like it being the theme song for, you know, like, but I don't, I don't, that's really all I have to back up that guess. Thank you. 10 seconds. Yeah, I'm torn between come clean and so yesterday, but. Yeah. Just go come clean. Yeah, whatever you think. Time is up. Final answer, come clean. Incorrect. Mikaela and Marissa. Yesterday, I was going to say, I'm torn between so yesterday and wake up. And by wake up, I was thinking wake up. Because that was like a bop. Because we don't have a year to go off of, so. My gut was so yesterday. Yeah. Not so yesterday, sorry. Wake up. Wake up? Yeah. Oh, shit. 15 seconds. I was going to say, I think it's so yesterday. But, oh my God, I was just going to hate each other. Five seconds. Wake up. Final answer. Also incorrect. With love. Oh. Oh. It was charted at number 24 in 2007. Interesting. Okay. Now, it wasn't on my radar. It wasn't on my radar either. Hey, it's Ria from Chicks in the Office. When I think of denim, I think of Abercrombie. It's just that iconic. I mean, I practically live in Abercrombie denim at this point. Their high-rise 90s relax is my go-to everyday jeans when I'm in the city. And I've been wearing their low-rise ultra-loose out in Soho. Love it. With a cute top and a kitten heel for dinner. Between classic fit and the viral curve-love fit that eliminates waist gap, there's literally a pair for everyone. It's truly denim. Made iconic. Shop Abercrombie denim and more in the app, online, and in stores. It is still 4-2, Ria and Fran. And this is question number 10. I'm going to play a movie clip, and you tell me what movie it's from. Don't anyway look at the clothes you wear. Mother, just because I wear trackies and play sport does not make me a lesbian. Me and Jess were fighting because we both fancied our coach, Joe. Joe. Oh, man. Joe? Yeah, as in male. Joe. Joe. Our coach. Joe. Man. Joe. Not us. Not us. Oh, that's us. That's us? Yes, you guys. Kind of like Beckham. Final answer. Correct. We all knew it, but I didn't. Second I heard Karen out, it was you guys. Yeah. Joe. Yeah. Okay, 4-3, Ria and Fran. Question number 11. Another Hilary Duff-themed question. In the Lizzie McGuire movie, what line does Paolo use on both Lizzie and Isabella? You shine like the light from the sun. The sun. From the stars? From the sun. Which one is it? Jess. You shine like the light. Let me guess. He told you, you shine like the light from the stars. Yeah. You shine like the light from the stars. Ten seconds. Fuck. I'm thinking sun. I'm thinking sun. I'm thinking sun. Time is up. Yeah, it goes sun. Final answer. Correct. 5-3, Ria and Fran. Question number 12 to Marissa and Michaela. Shout out Kira from Chicago once again. In the Lizzie McGuire movie, what line does Paolo use? In New Girl, Jess and Schmidt use a dating app. What is it called? I've only like, I've never watched New Girl like all, oh no, I have, just not through. Okay, dating app, what is it called? Some, makes it sound like it's like a meet, it's not like Hinge or something. It's like meet up. Well, yeah, I think it would have to be. Meet up. Meet cute. Ten seconds. Meet cute. Incorrect. You know, that would be a great name for a dating app. It would be. Just like, that should exist. I have no idea what this answer is. No idea. No clue. No idea. Is it like a play on Tinder? Like, is it something else? Yeah. I have no idea. All right, linger, final answer. Incorrect. Dice. Dice. Oh, dice. Doesn't ring a bell. One single bell. You guys aren't like New Girl people.
