117. Discover Your Signature Look with the Outfit Challenge

Sherry Brasier, host of the "Creating Unshakeable Self-Confidence" podcast, launches a two-week Outfit Formula Challenge in January to help women master styling their own clothes. Based on survey feedback, 70% of women struggle with outfit combinations, prompting Sherry to share a proven, step-by-step outfit formula. The challenge runs from January 13 to 24 and involves daily outfit graphics posted in a private Facebook group, where participants recreate the looks using items from their own closets. Each day, they apply the formula, ask for feedback, and share their results to build confidence and style fluency. Sherry emphasizes that clothes should be versatile—wearable in multiple ways—to avoid clutter and promote ease. The initiative is designed to foster self-assurance, not expensive purchases, and is accessible through her email list and social media. Participants gain practical tools to dress confidently, regardless of their wardrobe size or style experience, ultimately transforming fashion anxiety into a source of empowerment and joy. Sherry encourages listeners to join her email list to stay updated and participate in the challenge, highlighting that style is a reflection of inner confidence.

[Music] Welcome to the Creating Unshakeable Self-Confidence Podcast. The podcast that teaches women just like you to have the self-confidence to express who you are so that the world knows you just by looking at you. Style is the outward expression of the way you feel about yourself on the inside. There is a confident, stylish woman inside of you and as your style coach, it's my job to help you find her so you can look stylish and feel confident every single day. I'm your host, Sherry Brasier. Let's dive in. Hello, my friend. Welcome to the Creating Unshakeable Self-Confidence Podcast. I am your host, Sherry Brasier. I have some things to tell you today that I'm hoping will boost your confidence and help you with your style. So, on last week's episode, today is the podcast is going to drop on New Year's Day. So, last week, I dropped on Christmas Day and this one is dropping on New Year's Day. And so, first of all, before I get into it, I want to wish you all happy holidays and I hope your Christmas was great and I hope that you are spending so much time with family and that you're loving it and that you're traveling is safe and that you have been able to get everything that you ever wanted for Christmas. So, I am recording this ahead of time and so I haven't had Christmas yet. But I wanted to get these on the schedule so that you could hear them on your break because I know a lot of you were working and you're working moms. And you'll have some extra time to put your earbuds in and maybe listen to some uplifting podcasts. So, I hope that you choose one of mine to uplift you. So, thank you for being here and Merry Christmas, happy holidays, happy New Year, all the things. I'm looking forward to 2025. I've got some really fun things planned and I'll tell you about that coming up in this episode. But first, I just wanted to talk to you about some of the responses that I got from the survey that I put out. I put out a survey to my email list and I asked them a few questions and gave them some multiple choice answers so that it would be easy for them to take the quiz because I wanted to make sure that I'm providing the kind of help that they need. And so, I needed to know where they were at. What are you struggling with? What are you dealing with? What do you need to know? How can I help you? And the responses that I got back were overwhelming to the degree of not being confident putting outfits together. That was far and away the thing that most of the people who took the survey said they don't know how to put outfits together and they don't know how to style what's in their closet. So those two things were, I mean, 70% of the people who took the survey said that they don't know how to style what's in their closet. So that is what brings me to the January challenge that I'm doing and in January for everyone. And if you listen to last week's episode, you know about it already. But if you haven't listened to last week's episode, I'm going to tell you about it right now. So in January, I'm going to be doing a outfit challenge and outfit formula challenge is what I'm calling it because people will ask me just out on the street, like they'll watch my getting ready videos and lives on Facebook and Instagram. And they watch my content that I put out on social media and they will stop me in the grocery store or in the mall or wherever and tell me that they're watching my stuff and they love it. And thank you for doing it, which I so appreciate you telling me that you're watching and that you are that you're getting something out of it because it's fun for me to do and the fact that it's helping you just is a cherry on the top. And what they will say to me, which multiple people have said this to me is, how do you know how to put outfits together? Like how do you know what will go together? Do you have like a formula or something that you use? And I said, yes, yes, I do. I do have a formula that helps me to put outfits together and I didn't realize that I had a formula until I got asked several times and went back into my brain and was like, how do I do this? How do I know what goes together? And what do I use as far as tools to put things together? And I came up with knowing that I do have an outfit formula type thing. Well, outfit formulas in general, like if you were to search online outfit formulas, I didn't create that. I did not create outfit formulas. It is something that is in the styling world as wardrobe stylus. So I didn't come up with it. I have my own version of how I put an outfit together and my own version of the outfit formula that outfit formulas in general, I didn't come up with that. That's not my intellectual property. That is not my genius idea. But I do have a formula. I do use the outfit formula and I do have my own way of putting things together and knowing how things go together. And so in this survey that I sent out to my email list, the overwhelming response was that they don't know how to put outfits together. And so it's obvious that I need to share my insights on an outfit formula and what that looks like. So in January, I will be hosting a two week outfit formula challenge and it will be in a private Facebook group. I'm going to do a little pop up Facebook group and put everybody that is registered for this challenge. We'll interact in a private Facebook group and I will put up a graphic each day of an outfit. And what I would like you to do is take that graphic that's on your, it'll be on your phone. Just take it into your closet and try to find something that will, that would mimic or copy the outfit that I put together. And you will be able to see the graphic so the pants and the shoes and the shirt and the jewelry and everything that I put together and that will be super helpful. And also you will have the formula just underneath the graphic that will tell you if you don't have the items in your closet that look exactly like the ones I put together that you will know what you're going to what you're looking for in your closet. So that you can put something together that would mimic and be represented in the graphic that I show you. And it's just going to help you put a different pair of glasses on when you go to look in your closet. It will help you to be able to look at your clothes in a different way than you always have and you'll be able to put outfits together from your closet that you haven't really ever known how to do. So that is the goal of this outfit formula challenge in January is to help you be able to put outfits together from your own closet. So it will be starting January 13th is our first day. We're going to be filling it up and then come into the Facebook community that were that we are creating and then for two weeks from the 13th to the 24th, I will post an outfit every day and then you will go into your closet and create an outfit that's similar to that one and then post it in the Facebook group. And it will be there to be able to help you as you put your outfits together. So the way that I see this being so awesome for you is you would go to your closet with a graphic and an outfit formula and you would put pull something out that you think matches the description of what I've given you. But you're just not really sure you've never put that together before and so you're not really sure to these colors look good and what about these the style of this pants does it go with the style of this shirt like I'm just not really sure. Well, that's why I'm doing this part this challenge you take a picture of the outfit either laid out on your bed or on your body and you posted in the Facebook group. And you tag me and you say hey, Sherry does this go together does this look okay do these colors match does this pair of pants go with this shirt and you'll get to ask me questions about what you've got in your closet and how it relates to the graphic that I send you. And it's going to be so beneficial it's going to be so beneficial so market on your calendar the 13th through the 24th is when you're going to be walking right alongside me I'm going to be coming into your closet virtually. and helping you figure out your outfits so that you can learn how to put outfits together from your own closet. I do not want you to have to feel like you have to go spend a bunch of money on clothes in order to look cute. You just don't, you just don't have to. You can, if you find something that you like, then you can purchase that for sure. But what I tell my clients is, and I'm kind of a big stickler on this, is you have to have three different outfits that you can put together with that item or we don't purchase it. Because I don't want you to have a bunch of clothes in your closet that you can only wear one way. Because that just makes an over bowl closet and it confuses you and you, it's just not a good situation. And I do not want to create that for you. I want to create ease. I want to create space in your brain, in your closet. And I want it to be easier for you to get dressed. And I want it to be easier for you to feel beautiful. And I want it to be easier for you to find clothes that you feel comfortable and beautiful in. I want you to feel confident. That is my goal, is it always. Whether I work with you as a client or whether you come to one of my workshops or my challenges, any of it, I want you, those are the things I want you to go away with. So I am not a proponent of just going and buying a bunch of stuff and putting it together once. And I want you to be able to wear it multiple ways. So in the outfit formula challenge, this is where I'm gonna help you do that. So mark your calendars if you're not on my email list. You need to be, that's where this is gonna come out. That's where the registration link will be. It will be in my social media as well. But I find that it's harder for me anyway to find the links of things that I need to have to sign up for things because social media is just distracting. So if you're not on my email list, you're gonna wanna be on my email list. So go to sherrybrazier.com, my website, jump on there. And then you will be one of the first ones to know about the outfit formula challenge and what it's coming out in all the details. And what you will learn and all the things. Thank you for all the emails that I've gotten from you about just being able to have so much ease when you are getting dressed. After listening to the podcast and working with me and all the things I just really appreciate those messages, they really motivate me to keep doing this 'cause it's a lot of work. And sometimes I'm like, is anyone even out there? No one even cares. But when you stop me in the store and say, thank you for your get ready with me videos. They're helping me get dressed and look what I did from watching your video, I put this outfit together. Anyways, that's why I do what I do 'cause I want you to be confident in your wardrobe.
