jury to corroborate these are extraordinary claims that they're making and they're making a lot of money that the president of the united states engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn a free and fair election and an extraordinary claim requires extraordinary evidence so explain to us unpack how you think there's probably veracity to what jack smith is saying there well number one um jack smith is is probably one of the top level prosecutors at doj i mean he's he's brilliant he's smart and if you'll remember when merrick garland finally got around to investigating these matters it seems like they took forever to bring the charges and that's somewhat common uh for federal cases because they meticulously developed the evidence they subpoenaed witnesses they subpoenaed tons of documents they have forensic experts in the fbi that look at these to track the money i think with the one six case there was going to be a lot of financial records that showed who who paid for this and who orchestrated this and it's a rather complex case to to prove so that does take a lot of time especially dealing with a grand jury but one of the things he said in that speech was that he presented this indictment and he didn't present it based on a lot of conjecture he based it on donald trump's own conduct so so there are certain things that you can use as evidence that are somewhat unrefuted and if donald trump said something or if he did something that's pretty much unrefuted you don't need a third party to rely upon that you know that he did it and so what i think he's saying in that is that we relied heavily on just things that donald trump did himself that showed that he he violated the law and um there's no question that that i think he would have been ultimately convicted of these crimes or certainly uh it would have been a vigorous defense he put up but i think they felt very confident about this and but for judge cannon in in the southern district of florida she saved him she basically jumped in and saved him uh from from this and so but you and i knew this with one six how did this happen that there was a cycle that that turned over and now and Now, if you want to talk about crime, I think just in the state of Texas alone, the arrest records show undocumented immigrants are arrested for violent crime at lower rates than native-born citizens by far. I think immigrants make up about one in four construction workers. So if you want to talk about the cost of building homes, they're going to go up. But all this data points the other direction. And I think he's just simply fear-mongering. I mean, it's just there's this whole push right now on immigrants. And that's what they do when they have nothing else to talk about. It's what they did to Joe Biden. It's what they're doing now. And it's a complete, just a complete lie. It's propaganda to scare people. And again, I want to tell you, J.D. Vance, your in-laws, the grandparents of your four children, your four mixed-race children are immigrants.
