It could be worse And we're gonna check in with Dan Barron who used to live here in Memphis with us He moved to warmer climbs New Orleans. They got four four inches of snow on the ground right now and more coming to get afternoon Dan Good afternoon Earl. Good to hear from you. Good talking to you. You probably thought you escaped all this didn't you? You know there's never a dull day in New Orleans is that's one of the things I've learned stuff in here Today is certainly no exception. Is it I'd heard four inches already is that accurate? Oh at least it's probably working closer to five or six and it's still coming down. I say we're gonna We still got another couple hours of this. It's absolutely beautiful in the city You know not many southern cities are prepared for this. No, I've been they have not a snow plow in in the area No, I think the last event the dissignificance winter wise would have was a hundred years ago So it's quite remarkable. Well, it looks like everybody's enjoying it though getting out because a lot there are probably some people there Have never seen snow before. I suspect that's right. I know you know and anticipation for this It by place our radio stations. I felt more anxiety actually from our personnel And I did a hurricane You know, it's the unknown that scares you It is but you know in typical New Orleans fashion people have a great attitude about it Yeah, I heard the referencing it as the flora cane Well, if they can get to their the restaurants uh, then some gumbo or red beans and rice will be great with the great big snowfall like this The bars are open Well y'all enjoy it and I hope the power stays on if it was Memphis that we'd already have half the city of the dark but uh Hopefully New Orleans is better prepared for that But he's in a wet snow is it popping up on the trees? I can't really tell from your video It's you know, that's a beautiful. It's a beautiful fluffy snow Uh, it is piling up on the trees and the cars are full of course and the infrastructure here is rather rather fragile But thankfully our power is still on and and and and people are out enjoying it I did have the fastest commute to my office before I live enough now It's just the last time that they get the office this morning. Then any other morning That's what because nobody's nobody else is out and you have some experience of driving on snows So there you go a little bit more so than people here. All right Dan Barron who's down in New Orleans enjoying this snowfall Crazy weather Uh, we had little snow earlier days some people got more than others My son got a dusting it was on everything the grass the cars Down near Hernando There was some just some places on roofs out in Collierville or I live But then it moved on out and then it just it's been cold But not as cold even though it's 25 some reason I guess the sun's out and we're getting some radiation from that But does it? Well, I think the wind's not really blowing it That makes a huge difference when there's no wind Well to fall out from the uh the The uh inauguration of our president trump yesterday continues I don't know if you saw it but channel five I'll put out a fact check on Facebook of the president's speech and uh just got blasted Uh from all the viewers say Yeah, just to say it you know Why don't you learn to spell before you start putting out uh fact checks on the president's speech and when did y'all started doing that and uh But there was another guy that put up a uh Uh a video Because a lot of people think of that because all these Liberal networks put up they didn't edit job on Elon Musk when he was sitting from the bottom of my heart And he put his hand of his heart and then he reached out to the audience and for the bottom of my heart I thank you for voting for Trump and making all this happen Well a lot of the people in the liberal media cut the videos all you see is his hand going out like a Nazi salute But this guy really summed it up um And I think it makes a very good point about there a lot of people out there who are just scared And they're reacting to things that when you edit a video to make it look like a Nazi salute That's just propaganda But uh trippy we got that audio from the uh the guy talking about the Nazi salute go ahead and roll that So there's clips going around on mainstream and social media of Elon doing what appears to be a Hitler salute And I want to show you just how easily editing can make something appear much worse than it actually is First check out this clip from a popular reel going around right now You can't see it but it's Elon my standing on stage And he's putting his hand over his heart and he reaches out to the audience in front Did you notice where it cuts off now? I'm going to show you the full clip The elections they come and go some some elections are you know Important some or not, but but this one This one This one really matters And I just want to say thank you from making it happen. Thank you You My heart goes out here So a few facts first the Nazi salute does not involve putting your palm on your heart. This is the Nazi salute He's showing Nazi Germany soldiers take their numbers now There's two ways to interpret you just putting him straight down either believe that he was doing the Nazi salute and he did it in Properly or you can believe that it was an innocent moment where a man who is somewhat awkward was excited And wanted to show the crowd that his heart was with them as he said himself explicitly in the audio now We're going to see misrepresentations like this a lot over the next four years So I have invitations to both the pro Trump and the anti-Trump camp for the anti-Trumpers Just be skeptical of what you hear because for the last 10 years We've all been told that Trump is literally Hitler but the same people that said he was literally Hitler We're also smiling and waving for the camera during the inauguration today I'm not asking you to be blindly optimistic that Trump is going to be a good president Just be skeptical of the people that tell you that the world is ending as they are doing in this clip And for the pro Trump camp a lot of us are really excited which is great But half the country doesn't see what we're excited about And they've been told for 10 years that everything is going to end if Trump is in office So now they're seeing shadows and they're turning them into demons And the things are recognized is that these people aren't stupid They're just scared and you don't house someone that's scared by yelling at them Yes, logic facts and truth matter but so do emotions And no logical change can happen without emotional safety being established first Think about it If it was a friend or family in your life and you knew that they were being misled How would you treat them? You probably want to be patient, kind and gentle Because they're already scared So we don't need to also make them feel rejected Very very good point So if you have friends and you see comments that are made on Facebook and on X When you want to yell back at them Keep that in mind when somebody's scared they're going to say a lot of things I would say and I did to some of my friends I said hey You know give us a chance Biden had four years and he left office and he was peaceful Let Trump have his shot at it And you know I mean liquor what's going on at the border There's already a lot of liberals have said Maybe this is a good idea and maybe it's time to do this And so be nice to your neighbors Hey we're all Americans and we all want the same thing This to be a better country This we have different ideas on how that's going to happen All right we can take quick break and we'll be right back And welcome back on this cold but sunny Tuesday afternoon on the 21st day of January 25 degrees it's going to be another cold and tight And uh Just look at it I'm giving him message alert Uh always branch fees setting in the middle of the street I just noted something about the Ollie Branch Police Department said the middle Street doing something but Not that there was a police at the X Sheriff's Department Shelby County Sheriff's Department involved shooting today Overall above near sicker board view and make it road So then later there was these two individuals shooting each other And make it the deputy showed up and uh shot one of the individuals uh No officers were hurting it There are a few details out about it but we'll get you more on that As it does develop um And uh You know, even cold weather doesn't appear to stop. Stop our friends from shooting each other, shooting at each other. And then I saw another video. I know where exactly where it is. It's white station and subarabative overpasses. Two guys out there, and it's been the other day, because there's still a lot of snow in the ground. And they were two young white guys with hoodies beating the crud out of each other. I don't know what caused it, but they were really blasted away. And so people get crazy and just stay away from them. Here's a number of the people, the J6 people have been released from jail. But I've never have not, especially in DC, which evidently is a real torture chamber. Here's an interview with this one guy. He is a Robert Morse, who is a former Army Ranger. He was in for three years ever since January 6th. Listen to this and you'll just go unbelievable. Good morning, everyone. I'm here with Robert Morse, J6, your old friend. He was just recently released last night from Pennsylvania. And instead of taking in all of the glory that he couldn't have been found free to, he decided to make his way here to pre-incorne him. Robert, tell folks how you're doing and just tell them what's on your heart. Sure. Thank you for the opportunity I appreciate it. What I will say is this, there's absolutely no excuse for me to be standing here in front of you talking to me right now, having received the same pardon that Donald Trump gave everybody and men still be inside these walls. It's absolutely disgusting and it's a disgrace. But as far from the course, for the DC Gulag, and this isn't something that's exclusive to January 6th, they've been doing this for generations and generations of the African-American men that have had to suffer behind these walls. So I hope that something can be done about this jail once and for all. And I hope that these political frisges can be set free. It's in my blood as an airborne ranger not to leave anybody behind. So that's why I'm here. I definitely could be in bed right now. I'm definitely tired. I haven't slept in a while. However, my place is here. I got people back there and I hope that soon they let my people go. I brought Robert, tell us how long we've been inside this system. Sure. So I did three and a half years of hard time and I was in the halfway house for four months. But those three and a half years were dispersed throughout multiple locations. I went through this facility twice. I was in the Allegheny County Jail. I went to Northern NEC in Warsaw, Virginia for 13 months. I was in Louisburg for six months. I was in Philly for two months. I was in the Red Oak for almost a year. And it's just a way to try to break you down. In every which way they want to crush an inmate so that one they can guarantee that that individual will come back. But it will tell you that it was an honor to do time in this regard. As it says in the Bible, if you're going to suffer, don't do it because you're a murderer or a thief. Do it because you're a Christian. And that's exactly what I think is happening here. We were lured into a lobster trap back day because we stood on Jesus Christ's promises and our responsibility and our duty within our American Constitution to address the grievances that we have with the government, to peacefully assemble. And the communist government that we have for the last four years under the imposter president tried to snuff that out of the American people. Well, all backfire. America's back better than before and we're not having that communist garbage any longer. One last question, mother. I know that you're going to get everyone out. But there's one personal thing, like just on the bucket list, the treatment of that you want to have a point of experience in public. And on the last political prisoner in America, that would be it. And the story is coming out with those presidies, unbelievable. They cut them off from water, which means they can't flush their toilets. They can't get drinking water. They keep it very cold in there, even the summer of 68 degrees. They give them no clothes. They beat them. They, it is literally like something out of a bad movie, Abu Grey. And they shut that down, but that wouldn't even in this country. They need to get an investigate. I've talked to several of my law enforcement friends. They said the US marshals have the authority to go into places like this and clean them out and make a rest and start putting some of these people that charge those prisons on trial. That needs to happen. This never needs to happen in our country. I never went out with the sheriff's office. They go overboard to make sure inmates at the Shelby County Correctional Center, out at Shelby Farms and downtown of 201, are taking care of, getting medical treatment. I mean, they're dangerous places under the best conditions, but they feed them. They give them medical attention. They don't beat them. Sometimes they do, people pay the price. This needs to be taken care of. So hopefully that will happen as part of the continued rebuilding of our country to make sure that stuff like that does not happen. And then the people do act responsibly. I didn't think it was interesting. I was watching another video just before I came on. That was shot downstairs at the Freedom Hall, which was below the rotunda. And they had a huge crowd down there, which Trump went down and made in other speeds. It was actually longer than his inauguration speech upstairs than rotunda. And it was really, I don't know if you got to see it, it was really very good. But this was kind of a recap of that by a reporter. And they said when they would show the pictures of like Win Hillery and Bill Clinton entered the rotunda. We didn't hear this at the rotunda, which is what we were all watching. But simultaneously downstairs they were rolling at the booze that came out. When Hillery, then I think there's more to Hillery than Bill. I think a lot of people still like Bill. Bill's likable. There's nothing like it about Hillery. And then the next person to come in was Pence. And they said that they booed him, but not as much as they booed Hillery. And then Obama came in and it was very large, sustained booing going on him. So I don't know if you watched it home by yourself, if you watched it all. We'd been over to some friends house and watched it about 10 o'clock. And it was fun. It was always like being out of football game. And things we all agreed with that Trump would say that there were cheers and claps. But it's like the interview that Iran before our last break with the guy. We're all happy. Things have come our way. Just like four years ago, all the Democrats and the libres were all happy Joe was in there. I don't think that video of him or that happy with what happened with Joe. Hopefully that it'll be just a reverse after four years of Trump. This country will be back on its feet again and we'll have a grasp of the situation and people will agree this is the direction we need to be going. And we will continue to go that way. We've got a lot of hard work to do. But you know what the American people have always been. Let's get behind this. Let's go. Let's make something happen. The stock market was up hugely today. They're investing things like a nuclear plow power. I think that's definitely a way to go. It states like California, I've got to start saying and taking responsibility for themselves. And it stopped shooting themselves in the leg, not just the foot by getting their reservoirs working again, building fire lanes, cutting down brush. You know, saving the beetle is not the end all. A little fish or a beetle or lizard. You know, humans take presidents over that. And if you don't see that, then you got a problem. We all want to help the animals. And we do. In fact, I just saw watched a video today of a cow being rescued after it fell through the ice of these two ranchers out there and they're underwear and t-shirts chopping their way through the ice to rescue this calf who's out there bawling just because he's going somebody to come help me. And they went out there about 30, 40 yards in the ice and pulled this calf out of there. And people have no idea what ranchers and farmers do go through taking care of their animals, but they do. And it happens in extreme weather all the time. And it's like, you know, we may get a snow day. There ain't no snow days in the farm and ranch business. You're out there every day taking care of it. So did you watch the inauguration? I spent the whole day and I was like, people were calling me in text and I was like, I don't have time. I'm off today. I have shut down. You're begging me. I'm a insurance company. Call the number on the back of your card. Now don't mean that. But seriously, I was disconnected because I wanted to take everything in because it was so I was so grateful. I was just so grateful. It was it was a great day. And And his thing in the oval office where he was signing all those executive orders and held a simultaneous news with the entire news. I watched it. And when you found the letter from Biden. Oh, here it is. Oh, should I open it now? Yeah, read it now. Wish he had them. But he said, gosh, I might have looked in there for three or four months if Peter Peter do sees the letter in there. Did you find one? But great day. He's already fired over a thousand people. In addition to all the partners he's given the J6ers and we just ran a piece of guy that had been. But did they get out? I didn't pick up on that. Not a lot of them, but I checked with somebody. It's some of my law enforcement people. And they tell me the US marshals can go in there under the orders of the president and take those people out of there. And if you're not working. I can't hear you. Can't hear me. I can't hear me either. I don't know what just happened. Eric, I mean, try to, am I coming out in there? Do you hear me? Can he hear us? He says he hears us. This is something to do. Okay, as long as I can hear. My board is going out in here. My audio board. So, okay, we're just going to play like his there a button. Turn it down. There you go. Hello, hello, when you put the power button on it always works so much. He looked at me like I was stupid. And then he hit the button and it came on. It was okay. We do ask because everything turned on apparently. I somehow hit the button. I love being bright. I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong. That's usually the first thing the engineers always ask them something to work. Did you turn it on? And you're always like, well, of course I did. Wait a minute. Maybe it is. Wait a minute. Let me. That was classic. That's correct. I enjoyed it. Take it. He victory. You can get. Oh, will. But the second you can they get them out because I was so excited that that was the first thing he did. And then he told them to go to immediately and make sure that they they turned that in. So they could start working on that process. And they did. Anybody get it? Yes, there have been a lot of people who've got now. In the fact that I remember the Buffalo head, the the bore paint on it. He said the first thing he's going to buy is a gun. He's never going to jail again. But the whole thing is this guy said that they treated him so horribly. Really? Really? And our own our own statistic. Well, DC. And I think there's another jail in Brooklyn, but there's all this whole network. He got blues around like six or seven times everywhere. When he was treated like that. So apparently the prison system out there, there's some real problems. And maybe we wouldn't know about him today if it hadn't been for the J sixers going to end because these are all right. It's not going to fight the head of the. Oh, three years out of their lives. They've lost everything. People need to has need to roll over this. They really do. Major. And I don't think Trump's going to let it go. I think he's he's on board with it. And he's going to do everything he can to make sure, but of course the lawsuits have already started in 18 states have said they're not going to do the birth, birthing thing where if you're born in their state, that you become a US citizen because he's making an executive order that that ends. So the way you have to become a citizen, just like anybody that ever came to that. You're saying 18 states are already resisting that? They're piling suit not to fall to obey that, but that's going to take time. And the meantime is the executive order is in effect. So you know, it is interesting. He's, but he's done more than Joe did. Joe came in and first thing he did was cut off the and in fact, just like this came out last week or week four less. He does it. He didn't even think he did that. He said, I don't I cut off natural gas. And the case was at a very, I think it was Mike Johnson, the speaker of house, but it was in his office talking to him. He said, yes, sir, you did LPG liquid propane gas is natural gas. And he goes, Oh, yeah, I did the natural gas thing. I didn't know LPG was the same thing. Wow. So God knows what he signed and he had no idea what he was signed. No, he was just told to sign it. Yeah. And even if he did, he might not even assigned to that, the old rubber stamp, you know, and just put Joe's pounded it out. That's true. And until this is coming for the press, because you don't think he was out there doing all the thing. Well, he wasn't sounding him in front of us like no, I remember when he first got there, because remember, he was off in some little area. It wasn't the oval office. And it was a little bit desk. It was like a set. They did set. Yeah, I was supposed to be the oval office, but that wasn't real in the windows. Remember, well, and get this. Remember when he first got inaugurated supposed to be in the White House and all the lights were off in the White House. Right. Did you notice last night? All the lights were on. And they said then early this morning, I started watching. The kitchen light was on. It hadn't been on since Biden was there. And ever. Isn't that interesting? It's very interesting. And I wonder, too, did that do or I'm sure they did a deep sweep. Oh, yeah, I'm in fact, I did listen to a whole editorial or a documentary on that. The headbuttler starts the minute they leave the White House. When all of them left to go to the inauguration, they start moving them out right there. They got one moving then at the back of the house. Another one at the front. They're taking all Joe stuff out the back and from stuff in the. I'm talking about a deep sweep though devices like. Oh, yeah, yeah. Absolutely. Not only that, they take out all the mattresses for all the furniture. Everything that was there goes. And then they did a sweep for any kind of listening devices or booby traps or you know, find something of the cycle or it was refreshing to know that Melania Trump was on board with this a lot more this time than last time, too, because she knew what she was doing. And she didn't have to raise a son because look how cute he is. Yeah. And you saw where he where he made a comment to Biden. They were leaving. And he goes up to him and and Doug goes good to see again. Or maybe that was one of the songs way in. But he said good to see again, because you can see his lips say that. But Baron leans over and says something. I mean, one of the networks hired somebody a lip reader to say what he said to Joe when Joe said good to see again. Baron said exactly. And a lot of people said, what does that mean? I think we think about it. Yeah. You get to see me again. And that's exactly what we want you to do is to see us all again and take a good hard look. And then just having Trump getting up there and say, but I did notice Melania at the when they went downstairs to the Freedom Hall after the inauguration speech. She was sitting there and he said, she had to walk here to walk there and then he said, but she's a very strong woman just to use high heels or kill her feet. I got to sit on and she was smiling. And then at the I don't know if you saw him dance. Yes. And that was really. Yes. I mean, she was obviously having a good time. Yes. And I didn't get that the first time you're on there. No, I haven't gotten it for a long time. And it seems like that she's truly on board. And she is going to be a part of this team. And that Baron, it seems very much and I don't know if you can't look at the campaign. He was the one that recommended him getting hold of a musk. I think the best part of Baron was when he tipped his, he's like, it did his ear like when they were clapping for him. Yeah. He said, I'm like, I'm like, and he does his ear kind of like with that little like little louder. Yeah. He bring it on. Bring it on. Well, it is, it is so much like in the last time we were we're all sitting there. Oh, this is we got to do her this for four years. The next four years, I think we got a chance to really make some difference and some changes. And I think things are going to get really a lot better. I agree. And I think we all have to come together. And those people that are the trump haters or trump naysayers, I don't think we need to say anything. Let's just let trump do what he does. Yeah. And you know, we don't have to speak for it. It's going to speak for itself. Yep. You might find it everything is going to work out okay. In better than okay. Yeah. We're going to take quick break. But then when I tried to fix, she was, when we turned the volume, reached over there, do that. I get the wrong button. But we're on again. Well, this is part entertainment show. You know, there's an entertainment that you certainly were entertained by that. But I'm easily entertained too, or well, anytime you can make a man look like an idiot. That was easy entertainment. That would do hard. Never difficult to do with you. That's funny. We were talking about about the changes that have I and are coming. And the whole thing that what trump is going to do is is create competition. - Yes. - That competition in the healthcare industry. is going to help everybody. Let's get a big price at that. - Well, and let me take away one of the myths that's been out there that I have had to help people understand it's not going to happen when Trump gets in the office, not if when he got back in office. Everybody kept saying, but Diane, we're not going to have the ACA once he gets in the office. We can't do a bombing care. I'm not going to be able to get on that. I'm like, that's not true. He never said he was taking it away. He never said he wanted to do away with it. He said, I want to improve it. And trust me, it needs some improvement. Yes, there are some positive things about it. It accepts all pre-existing conditions, and that's great. But can everybody afford to be on a plan that accepts all pre-existing conditions? 'Cause I have some good plans that accept all pre-existing conditions and our group plans and our major medical. And they're cheaper than that. It depending on your income. So it's just interesting that people are so afraid that instead of looking at this as a way for us to come in and enhance what we've started, what they started was a good idea. I'm not going to say it wasn't. But how do we take that now and really develop it into a better idea that serves everyone? What's great about what you do, you're a broker, and you can pull from any insurance plan that's out there. And you have the ability and you do take the time to do it and explore all these options that are out there so that the people out there that are looking for something don't have to do that themselves. The amount of time you're saving them and in fact you understand how to compare policies. - Yeah, I'm like right now I'm looking at something for someone who's getting ready to retire and she's healthy. And they're offering her health insurance so she can stay on it if she wants to and she wants me to look at it. And we're going to determine if it's, if it doesn't make sense to stay on cover for 18 months or does it make sense to go ahead and make the change? - I can tell you, it doesn't make sense to stay on cover for any time, it's so expensive. - And I don't think, but hers turned out not to be that expensive. - Oh really? - So that's what we look at though. You look at the cost and can I get her something? And here's the other thing, what if I want to get her on a plan and she's really healthy and she's like 63? She can be on that for 18 months. That's not two years. So we're going to have about six months there of a window open. So we have a lot of things that you look at. You have to look at everything. And then once we get her off that, we'll put her on Medicare and that's where I'll come in and help her with that. So you have to look at, if it's 18 months and I get on it now, how many months do I need to come up with coverage to cover me until I get on Medicare? Or do I put on a plan now that may be 50 bucks more, but it's going to last her for two years or as long as she knows. - And you're locked in on that price for two years. - Yeah. - Yeah. - You know what's interesting, when was my son and two other guys, the Texas for the rodeo last week. And we're stopped eating lunch at place and we were all talking about how we get up once a week we put our pills and little pill box. - With your son? - Well, my son's in there listening. And he, because everybody else is in there, you know, 40s, 50s and of course I'm way past all that. And my son pipes up and goes, I don't take any pills. And we all looked at him and said, you will. (laughing) When you're young, you don't, you're like the lady you're talking about, she's 60 and her 60, but she's still. - She's very healthy. - Kathy doesn't take any kind of medicine. - I don't either. Well, I do take, I do now take a pill that, I call it my happy pill. (laughing) - And give me one of those. - It gives me, it gives me focus. It keeps me from being easily distracted, if you know what I mean, but. - Squirrel. - Yeah, a major squirrel, like Butterfly then squirrels. - So, in my husband, very lovingly say, we took our pill, right? Yeah, we did. - Did you take our pill? Are we happy today? - 'Cause we're talking a whole lot about different things every two seconds. - Well, it is, I think that's one thing that I really like about what you do, is you're done hipped in by any woman company. - Yeah. - And you can adapt and find the best policy. And you know how to tell the, and talk to the insurance company, say, we want this, this, this, but we don't want the rest of it. - Well, and the thing is too, I tell everybody that allows me to serve them that I work for them. - Yeah. - I don't work for the insurance company. And if I did, I'd fire them in an heartbeat, because there's some that, you know, I'm not gonna work with them if they can't provide customer service that's gonna be above par, because I believe in good customer service. And they're an extension of what I, and my core values are. So, that's important. You know, yeah, I can sell pretty much anything out there, but does that mean I want to? - No. - No. - Because you want your people to be happy. That's your main goal is to have satisfied customers. And, you know, it's very important though, that you give her all the information, because she has to have all your facts and figures. - Right. - Another to go find the bright policy for you. - Yeah, if you have some medical situations or conditions, I had the gentleman call me, and he had an embarrassing situation, and I said, "Look, I'm not here to laugh at you, "I'm not here to share your story, "and I'm not gonna share what it was." I heard about Houston. - Hey, hey, hey, hey. - We didn't have Dan Barr, I knew you used to live here at Memphis. He's down in New Orleans now. We talked to him at the top of the show, and they've got at least four inches on the ground, possibly it's gonna go up to eight inches. New Orleans. - That is absolutely incredible. I do know that there were snow and bat and rooze, and I heard that there were snow in Houston. Of course, as you and I know from our many years being around Memphis, there's always snow and freezer. (laughing) - And Mount Mariah. - Yes, and Mount Mariah. - And if you were to call back the ski Mount Mariah, and these people were going, you could see these bumpers. I think it was FM100 that years ago, and that said, bumper stickers that said ski Mount Mariah. Everybody's going, "Where?" They go, "You idiot." (laughing) That's not real. - Well, it's any chance you get close to the idea, like earlier with me, hitting on having the power button on. I had done, Dan Kimberow was very nice and not saying, "Hey, you idiot, push the button right there." But anyway, did you get a chance to watch any of the inauguration? - No, I did not, because we have been very, very busy in the studio. We were wrapping up, and I'll, you and I can come on and look at some of the stuff when we do launch, but where we have been producing and editing and creating content for a new YouTube channel that we're about to launch, that's gonna talk about injuries, what you need to know and all that kind of stuff. So we've been in-- - It's an informative, yes. - Yes, it's pretty good. - It is, yeah, we're not, we're teaching. We have anatomical models, we have model cars, it's kind of fun at my age, be able to go back and play with model cars, but showing people how they get hurt, we're to look for the injuries, that kind of stuff. I had, I think I've told you before, but I did an e-book, I brought you one of the books I wrote, and I had just released an e-book on my web website. So, and that's where we, and-- - When you told me something I didn't know, 'cause I was in Texas, but Saturday night live, when the media starts, becoming oh brother democratic in their because they never used to criticize anything that the democrats did one way or the liberal media and they turned will Saturday night for those of you who can hear my voice whether or not you're a fan of msnbc whether or not you're a fan of nbc and whether or not you're a fan of nbc or saturday night live you should go and you should watch their cold open you can go to youtube or google or whatever in google it and they have every they have re melbur i'm trying to put seed in my head well wait i'm going from left to right they go re re melbur is kind of like the lineup re melbur joy read then they have racial mad how then they have steffony rule and then they have chris haze and i'm telling you uh the one who got off the lightest was steffony rule because steffony rule before she uh she was a financial reporter for cnbc and i think she probably does understand and she's probably very well regarded as for everybody else it was a brutal and i mean brutal take down are he melbur who isn't uh listen i mean he's he's very accomplished i mean he's got impeccable education uh he was a former prosecutor uh for the southern southern district of new york he's a political commentator but he does have the habit of trying to hook in uh hip hop lyrics and to everything that he's reporting and they just roasted him for that joy read uh they painted a bitters and disappointed uh woman um in fact at one point she said you can start calling me and read because all the joy is gone oh wow uh Rachel mad how they just roasted up one side and down the other but the one who got it the worst was chris haze who not only did they refer to him as woke sheldon um they kept they never said and now let's turn to chris haze and now Rachel and now Rachel and kept calling him Rachel and i was watching that going man i mean because if he didn't drink before i guarantee he started drinking after that skit uh because and i thought to myself that's gonna be awfully hard to come back from because that's like having your pants pulled down and having your bare bottom spanked on national tv and it was just i mean it was just brutal brutal brutal brutal um and i thought well that's telling me something there you know the fb i would the fb i would call that a clue and so somebody dnbc has looked their finger and they've stuck it up to see which way the wind is blowing and uh and that's why that skit was greenlit so um it was that never would have made it no no you're new that never would have happened but you should go home and watch it you'll put a smile on your face see i think that's why the late night shows aren't doing any kind of numbers why i see an n and miss him be see if you do think people aren't stupid and if you do things on a equal basis and you make fun of everybody that was Johnny Carson he made fun of everybody and so it was never about politics with him uh in the same things with so many people if you're equal opportunity slasher like don Rickles like don Rickles even Frank Sinatra wasn't safe and uh and i think what you're going to see is a lot of these like the the view i mean there i think a lot of the keep losing viewership like CNN and now they're losing viewership they just uh another i didn't know they had one before the the woman that the woman and i forget what the case was on that or was down to woman it was uh well no wait a minute he signed an executive order it's either going to be a woman or a man maybe your mind they're only two two choices uh i'm forgive what there have been so many uh but this was uh it was somebody that they said was uh had done something and it turned out that it was allegedly and so well this they did a five million dollar settlement on the uh wait are you thinking of Stefan Hoppilis? no that was that was ABC well in this particular and in this particular instance it was a navy veteran and i don't i don't know the particulars and i don't want anybody think that i do all i know is is that because i saw the where the verdict came back in and they gave him four million dollars in compenance uh compensatory damages on one of the counts gave him another million dollars additional on one of the other counts then uh they went into the uh deliberation for the punitive damages phase and at that point i think seeing in very wisely said hey why don't you all come over here and let's figure out how many zeros we need to put on this check and they settled the case and so that is now over and i guarantee you there's going to be a confidential settlement and there's going to be nda signed all around and that young man he looks young i would and well you know well he says navy veteran Zachary young successfully alleged cnn smeared him by implying he illegally profited when helping people plea afghanistan on the black market during the biden administration military withdrawal from the country in 2021 he believed that cnn destroyed his reputation and his business by branding him a illicit profiteer and uh war profiteer so to speak yeah well um i think he's going to have enough money to set up whatever kind of business he wants even if that business is uh had your feet propped up on the railing of a nice mountain shall a and examining your toenails from long distance if that's what he wants to do for a living now he's got that money well you know who's now entered the litigation out of california's morgan and morgan uh there's doing a class action suit on the fires in california we'll talk about that well yeah that's the new one on me i had an chance to show it but that doesn't surprise me not even a little we'll talk about it stay with us and welcome back on this Tuesday afternoon in the studio with me is John Michael Bailey back by popular demand but maybe i shouldn't push that part uh uh we were talking about morgan and morgan and and and and john michael was saying he wouldn't surprise all they're getting involved with the wildfire listen listen anything that happens or befalls the elay politicians and the bureaucracy and those people out there they very richly deserve uh i'll repeat what i told you uh when we were off the air any stupider if somebody who would have forced fed them stupid pills you're talking about government officials in california yeah if they had fed them stupid pills and then told them to write a stupid script i mean i can't believe when i hear about the things that happened out there it just boggles my mind and then of course i can't say this is verified because i got off of social media but a fellow um that i saw a content creator said that in his estimation it would take between 20 and 40 years to rebuild out there in elay simply because of the permit process and i'm not lying when i say this he read off 25 different types of permits that you're going to have to get up to and including a retaining wall can you believe that? you have to get a permit for a retaining wall um but anyway i think what needs to happen is ocum's razor i think there needs to be like a one-stop shop they set it up there in elay you walk in one door with an address in your plan this is how we're going to rebuild and then you just go down a table and get your permit, permit, permit, permit, permit and then you're out the door well but you can't even do that in california they have to come out and make a site and here's what else is happening blackrock is there now or all what do they get a look at? there's nothing there you still have to have an architect come up with plans for that's what i said you walk in the door with your plans and then they can happen anytime soon because they're not even letting them back of the property to assess their own damage and see if they find anything but blackrock is already there i saw an interview with the guy today saying they're going door to the people who didn't even lose their homes but they said we'll buy your home right now oh yeah and so you're seeing a lot of people out there there's going to be a lot of weird stuff happening yeah and that's exactly what we don't need to say we don't need private equity and hedge funds buying any more single family homes it distresses me what's going on right here in Memphis? yeah well it is you're exactly right it's going on here in Memphis listen i have a lot of single moms who work for me you know they talk to me about this i hear them talk among themselves and the rents are just outrageous and you don't really get much of a service i mean if you have a repair that needs to be done it takes so long for these clients corporate type. Is they know how to drag their feet? Yeah. Well, you wind up paying for the repair, then you say, look, I, I get your money back from them. Right. Say, well, look, I spent $150 getting the toilet fixed. Um, and then you send it in like if your rent is $2,500, you send it to $2,350 and then they, they ding you for it and say that we, we didn't authorize that repair. And that's when, you know, look, if, if you've got a family living in a three bedroom, one bath home, you can't go very long with no toilet. Um, it's, you know, it's not like you're in a camper and you can pull up and, you know, hit the honey truck. I mean, you can't do that. So, um, so, yes, you're right. And that, that's going to be a problem. And, uh, honestly, if I had one fear, if, if I had any fear of a civil war happening, my prediction would be it's not going to be left versus right at all. It's going to be the people who are just getting tired, the people, the working people, and then it's going to be a civil war between the classes and, and, uh, if I had to make a prediction, that's the prediction that I would make. Well, there, we talked about a Vicki Gandhi, though, the day there are people that are making inquiries at the moving to Memphis, moving to Florida. Uh, they're, they're just saying, you know, we know it's going to take years and it's going to take, it may take years to even get our insurance settlement out of it. You know, because, uh, you know, it's California. And a lot of people have their insurance canceled before the fires and they, they lost everything. Yeah. So I'm not sure. Uh, okay. So I don't know what the limits are on California. Let me preface this. Um, you know, when you sue the state, there's certain rules. The state has immunity and, and a lot of states you can't see. Well, yeah, and there's a ministerial and discretionary and, and I really don't want to get in those weeds. But if you sue the state for something that should have been done, they're going to come back and say, well, this is not ministerial. This is discretionary. Uh, and, uh, therefore we're immune. And that's exactly what California is going to say. But even if you win, like in the state of Tennessee, let's say that you wanted to sue somebody for a pothole, which we have done. I did. We, we actually collected and you did collect. We did collect city and Memphis. Yeah. I was really, uh, very badly hurt. Uh, it's over off of Walnut Grove. He had a pothole that was so deep that it threw his car into the bridge and he was hurt very badly. And we sued the city and, and we proved that they were negligent and they had knowledge of it. And, uh, it was, uh, and, and we got money. Um, so it can happen. But in the state of Tennessee, if you sue the city, sue the state, Tennessee, sue like gas and water, that kind of stuff. It under the governmental, tort liability act, there's $300,000 and that's it. No matter what, no matter what it doesn't matter. I mean, it doesn't matter if you got a stubbed toe or if they set you on fire and couldn't marshmallow is off your burn it body. Um, it, it, it doesn't matter. I mean, that's, that's it. That's all you can get. California is going to be the same way. What their limits are, I don't know. But I will say this, you know, in Tennessee, we gripe because the minimum, uh, limits of insurance in Tennessee are 25,000. And we think that it should be higher because of the cost like if you go to the mid and need a bandaid, when you come out of there, you're going to have a hundred thousand dollar bill. Um, but in California with all the money out there and all those people, their state minimum or automobile liability insurance is only $15,000. Wow. Yeah. So I don't know what their GTLA limits are. But, you know, if, if there's, um, if there's a class action or something like that, you can bet Morgan's going to be right there on top of it. And we'll just see what happens. Well, I just feel sorry for all those people. Those people, a while he still isn't settled yet. None of those people are back in their homes. So that's been what three years ago, uh, yet three or four. Yeah. Uh, then you got the people in North Carolina that are intense. That's true. And well, that, that's just a national tragedy there. That everybody was woefully unprepared. Uh, but in LA in in North Carolina, they knew that could happen. Um, but in LA and and in a white, they turn the water off in white. Yes. Both of those, uh, ineptitude ruled the day. We're talking with John Michael Bailey. We'll come back and talk about the birthright, uh, exactly quarter that Trump made today lost to find out. Once again, Earl Farrell. I think very much welcome back, uh, John Michael Bailey attorney of laws and everybody. And the reason we like having him come in is because he explains things to us that we don't understand. And so for instance, uh, one of the executive orders signed by a president, uh, Trump, uh, yesterday was the birthright. Yes. Uh, it's a very, it's, uh, uh, it's a complicated issue, but it also has a very fascinating history. So let's go. All right. Well, um, the right of citizenship goes back to the English common law and European common law. One is called juice, so lease, which is right of the earth, meaning that you're born there. And that makes you a citizen. The other one is called juice, sanguiness, which means right to the blood. Um, one of them, uh, is English. The juice, so lease is more English in the juice sanguiness is, is more French and other European. Although, uh, most of them kind of combine them and, in fact, that's kind of what we've done. So if you have, uh, child that's born here in United States or, um, on a territory of the United States, remember John McCain, uh, he ran for president. You have to be a natural born, uh, citizen. Where was he? Like in, like in, in Panama. I can't remember his dad was working on a Panama canal. No, his admiral, his dad was right. His dad was one of the, the most decorated fighting admirals of the Second World War. Um, um, but, uh, let's take the, uh, if you are, uh, the child of, uh, two U S citizens and you're born in a foreign country, AKA Ted Cruz, you're still a citizen. So that's how that's how that works. So we have a mixture of it. Now, um, the right of citizenship, I'm going to start off by saying the right of citizenship. Is now enshrined in an amendment. As I've said here before, what is created by an amendment can only be undone by an amendment. So, uh, most of the battle and we're going to get into what it says, uh, but most of the battle is going to be around whether or not. Uh, the person that we're talking about is subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. And that's in my opinion, that's why, uh, President Trump signed that executive order to get this matter before the courts because that's where it needs to be decided. And he's gotten his wish already. I think there's already 25 or 26 lawsuits. 18, 18. Okay. Well, until tomorrow, in their mind, 25. Uh, but let's, let's give a quick, uh, history. So, um, in, uh, 1774, right before, uh, we, uh, split off from Britain. If you were white, uh, in 1774, you were a British subject. You were subject to the crown in 1776 after the, uh, after the declaration of independence. Um, and we began our quest for independence. You became a citizen of the state wherein you resided. And that's how it was all the way through the articles of confederation, which remember everybody. We, we really didn't have a constitution when we got started. We had an article to confederation. It was a group of states who were banding together. Um, and at some point they said, this isn't going to work. So, yeah, we need a constitution and we need a federal government, which binds everything together, which binds all of us together. Once the constitution was adopted, which I think is 1783, don't, don't write me hate mail from a little bit wrong on that. Uh, you then became, if you, if you look like me, uh, you then became a citizen of the United States as well as the state wherein you reside. Um, and if you were not white, you were not a citizen. And in the constitution, it was quite clearly set out slaves are not citizens. And, uh, only three fifths of the number of slaves in the state were, were to be able to be used to figure out how many representatives they had in the house representatives. And that was so they, they counted only two thirds of the three fifths, three fifths. And that was put in there by the slave states. Otherwise, if they went just by the white population, they wouldn't have any representation at all. So that's where, where that was. And so that kind of rocked along and, and, uh, um, and so the slaves, no slaves were citizens. But then they got to have slave states and you had free states and so three states, you were, you were freed, and you might have been able to be a citizen of that state, but you were not a citizen of the United States. No slaves were. And this was pointed out very pointedly in the 1858 Dred Scott decision. The then Supreme Court Justice was a fellow by the name of Roger Brooks, Tony. He was a Virginia slave holder. And he said, well, let me just give you some facts. Dred Scott's owner took him to the state of Missouri, which was then a free state. He said, I'm in a free state giving my freedom. And he found suit in federal court to enforce. And Dred Scott was a slave was a slave. Okay. But Roger Brooks, Tony said, you're not a citizen of the state of Missouri. So you can't you're not a citizen of anywhere. Therefore you have no standing. You're still a slave. And even though he's in a free state, even though he's in a free state. So he said slaves, you have no access to the court. You're not a citizen of the state or the USA. And when you talk about things and you'll hear people talk about access to the court, what that means is is standing to walk into a court and ask for a redress of grievances. And he says, you that door is shut to you. You cannot come into this courtroom and ask for redress of your grievances. Okay. Civil War happened. Interesting fact during the pendency of the Civil War, there was a proclamation that freed the slaves. It was called the Emancipation Proclamation. It was signed in 1863. However, what most people don't realize is it only freed the slaves for the states for the territories that were under Confederate control, which until you told me that during the break, I had never heard that. That's right. It did not free this. If you if you were a slave in an area controlled by the federal government that did not free you, although if you were in that territory, you could leave and go. I mean, but but if you read the terms of the proclamation, it didn't free you. So the Civil War concludes. And then they begin the reconstruction. And right after that, they have what is there's three, the 13th, 14th, 15th Amendment, 13th Amendment outlaw slavery, the 14th Amendment deals with citizenship. And it is directly addressing the dreads got decision, which was never overturned. No court has ever overturned the dreads got decision. But they came in with an amendment and said, and here's what it says. This is verbatim. It says that all persons born or naturalized in the United States pay attention to this next part and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States and the state wherein they reside. And so with that amendment once that amendment passed became effective, the North-Wright citizenship was granted to all the slaves, but not to everybody else. And and we say not to anybody else that if you came here from Italy and you immigrated, came in, you're not citizens, you just immigrated. You just immigrated. And if you have a child who was born here and your person has birthright citizenship, but you said that only this only I'm getting to that. Okay. Okay. Because there's another case, Elk V. Wilkins. And this is another Supreme Court case in 1884, where a native American who was born on the reservation wanted to assert his right to birthright citizenship and be a citizen of the United States. And the Supreme Court, they could it. You would think. But the Supreme Court in its wisdom said, well, you're on Indian land. Therefore, you are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States because it's not part of the United States. Because we don't have jurisdiction on your land. And so if you as the Native American are born one foot inside the reservation, you are not a citizen. If however, your twin brother, if your mother hopped across the border during birth and your twin brother was born outside of the reservation, you are a citizen. Wow. That that case was overturned by or was corrected by Congress with a statute. But again, that case has never been overturned. That is still good. That's on the books. That's on the books. Still good law. Finally, in 1898, you got to remember we're building railroads. They had the yellow peril. All the Chinese are coming in building the railroads and yeah, coast. And so the question became are these again, the birthright citizenship came up. And it's United States versus one team, one Kim arc 1898 as Supreme Court defined what we're trying to do here. And we want to exclude exclude in the 14th Amendment. We're trying to exclude hostile invading occupying armies and children of diplomats. And everybody else is in that rocked along till about 1985 to gentlemen, one by the name of Shuck and the other by Smith came up with this idea of citizenship without consent. If you didn't come here legally, then somehow or other that would affect the validity of the person, any children or any issue that you had while you were still here. And if you came here illegally, then even if you got citizenship because when you came here, you were not within the jurisdiction of the United States, because you came here and not through the legal process, that makes your naturalization void. So this is where we're going. So that's why I told you at the very beginning, the subject to the jurisdiction thereof, that's the phrase that's going to be fought over. But however, I cannot find, and again, I think I told you before we, I was up to my eyeballs today. I did not find any cases that ruled on that one way or another. So that right now is an untested legal theory. And in my opinion, this is exactly what President Trump had in mind when he signed the executive order. He knew because an executive order can't override a constitutional right, but he can make that, and he can make that argument. He can do that order. And by that executive order, he can cause the levers of government to pull and move and begin actions. And that right there creates the standing or harm or a potential harm that can be identified. That's somebody that can, can then challenge. And as you say, 18 states have already challenged it and they're, may or may not be more well. And, but that's where we are. So that's where that's where the entire thing is going to come down to. Where, when you got here, were you subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, if you were, you're in, if somehow or other, if you came here illegal, illegally, that art, is that invalid? And it may be to that person, but I don't think, of course, the Supreme Court always surprises me, but I don't think that would extend to an innocent party, which the child would be. The child, it was not on any kind of a thing like that. But so that's where we are with that. And all these other executive orders, just like Joe Biden is the executive orders that he signed when he came in and did continuously through his presidency, can also be done away with the next president. Yeah. Well, yeah. Well, yeah. And they're not turned into, uh, statues. Yes. Yes. So yes, an executive order is not a law is an executive order. And they can also be challenged in court. And I, I don't know the track record, but I do know that there are a lot of things that Biden did by executive order that were overturned. And, uh, that would be the court, the court to remember, we've got co-equal branches of government where, where the court is saying that, the president overstepped his authority and is trying to do the job that Congress needs to do. Um, and, uh, you know, like I understand, he fired a thousand people today out of the federal work force. Well, I don't know, I don't know about that, but I do know that either he or Marco Rubio told some of the senior diplomats. Thank you for everything that you've done, but we're going in a new direction and I want your resignations on my desk in the morning. Wow. I hadn't heard that. I know that he was, it may not have been Rubio's. Well, he was sworn in today as a secretary. Yeah, 99 to nothing. I'm surprised he didn't vote for himself. I mean, he could have just done that. I mean, you know, been a hundred and nothing. So, uh, well, he could vote because it was him. So I guess he could vote. Yeah. Well, he didn't need it. He counted the votes. So he's, I think I got this. Well, yeah, I remember when they were voting most good looking in my high school. I got one vote. I know who, I know who made that vote. I was playing me. Yeah. It was a guy named, he did. But then also you look at all these people that have been working remote for ever since COVID. And they're saying from the government. Yeah. Yeah. There is. And I think what they'll do, there's even talking like transferring the entire agricultural department to like Oklahoma. And so you know, some of these people who keep fire. So what you do is you move that because Oklahoma is right in the middle of agriculture or Nebraska. Well, I was thinking more of Iowa, but I would bet it's out of DC. Yeah. I don't think a lot of these agencies need to be in DC. And if you move them out of DC, those folks ain't going to move to Iowa. And so then that's another way of being able to eliminate a lot of staff and hire new people. Because I do think you got these lifelong civil servants who really run Washington. You got administration has come and go, but they're always there. And so they kind of tell you how the cow, the cabbage, and this is what we're going to do. And this is what we're not going to do. It really should be, you know, always on the improvement list and not on the climate. That's true. But sometimes sometimes when you're in there with the sometimes when you're in there with the scalpel, it's hard to tell the muscle from the fat. Well, that's kind of happening right now.
