Denmark w/ Love Island's Iain Stirling | You Be Trippin' with Ari Shaffir

The podcast blends humor and personal reflection, starting with a light-hearted tribute to Arnold Schwarzenegger as a cultural icon linked to cigars. It then transitions into a detailed account of travel experiences, particularly in Copenhagen and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The host shares anecdotes about Copenhagen’s unique culture—especially Christiania, a peaceful, drug-friendly district where cannabis and mushrooms are openly available and treated with nonjudgment. He highlights how Scandinavian drinking habits promote equality, with everyone consuming beer rather than expensive or exotic drinks. The narrative includes a vivid visit to the acclaimed restaurant Noma, where a multi-hour, immersive dining experience is described, emphasizing creativity, sustainability, and the high cost of access. The episode also touches on the difficulty of securing reservations, often requiring months of waitlists, and the cultural contrast between rigid traditions and spontaneous, unstructured living. Through these stories, the host underscores themes of authenticity, connection, and the joy found in unexpected encounters. The segment concludes with a promotional note for Cigars International, offering a 20% discount for orders over $50, while reinforcing the value of travel, cultural immersion, and personal exploration.

I guess. You know who's cool. It's right. We're all thinking the same guy. Arnold Schwarzenegger. And you know why is school? Some of you might have the wrong answer here. No, it's not because he had sex with his maid and had a child with her and raised him as if he was this full-blooded marriage child. No, it's not that at all. Even though you could tell who it was. It's because while he was dealing with all these smoking cigars, Arnold Schwarzenegger smokes cigars. He's one that covers cigar-efficient Auto. But how do you get him? You're new to it. If you're a guy, you know it's cool. And if you're a girl, oh, if you're a girl, you smoke a cigar. Woo, that's hot. Probably what that maid did to turn him on. Guys, some exclusions apply. But it's a solid gift and a solid pickup. Let's get back to the episode. Well, we met so long ago, like Edinburgh Fringe. Before Love Island, right? Yeah. Okay. Or like early the doors love Island. Okay. So I was still doing like whatever, like little chill, like Porter cabins and like rooms above pubs and stuff. Yeah, where'd you get? Yeah. Well, they've been Edinburgh Fringe is so hard to explain in it, but essentially you pay thousands of pounds to go into a performance upstairs in a bar where they give it equipment. And the tens of thousands of pounds goes into that. Yeah. But I was early in my whisky journey and I remember saying to this, like you can just get like a cheapy, like mixed blend whisky and it's like just as good. And you said that to me? Yeah. And then I remember the time you were like going, I could tell you like properly humor in me. And I was like, I'm blowing this guy's mind. And you were like, I was doing a scatlin. I was maybe I was like, really? I've heard like complete opposite to that. Yeah. And this guy. But then yeah, I've gone on a real, I've gone on a whisky journey. Got some scotch. I mean, hell yeah. Okay. Nice. Oh, I love this thing. Do you know the difference between the places and what the taste is? Not massively, but like basically there's like, then the more highlandy ones are like, no, that really smoky, peaty flavour. That's what I love. How do you like? Calilé. Or Lefroig, can you think? Lefroig. No, Calilé. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And then the bit Lefroig's like the absolute, like. And where are those from? Like the Highlands, like we're really peaty areas of Chios, man. Chios. Where you been and where you going? This is our East travel show. Yeah. We're going to talk about travel today. It's you being driven. Yeah. Yeah, that's delicious, man. Yeah. A nice little half past two minutes. I'm still on UK time. So this is like, oh, yeah, you're like, it's a nightcap for you. Yeah, absolutely. This is so nice. Thank you so much for having me now. Yeah, you're welcome. Every time somebody wants to drink, I'm like, fuck yeah, I had a whole bar. Rob Low came in, he was like, can I smoke a cigar? I'm like, bro, yes. Well, like we were saying before, I was like, I still remember Sophie that night you were, you took all our flyers up our first seat, which is that hit. There's a big hill in Edinburgh. Yeah, it's like a central park, but I'm out in the yeah, a central, yeah, central park, but you've got to like, you got to want it. Yeah, you got to want it. That's good. Yeah, instead of like, it's like people in like hiking boots instead of like women with like dogs and strollers. Yeah, right. Basically. Yeah. And um, you normally go up there at the end of the festival to like celebrate and like, you have a glass of water and like, you chill out and you took a bunch of teenagers up there and done mushrooms and the middle of the festival. And then these kids were trying to like sell our shows for the next two or three days and they when they came back, they sold my stuff very well. Yeah, but I feel like a lot of them had epiphanies in their life and they thought, this isn't the career for me and that it fits okay. Yeah, like, what am I doing? I can just fuck, I've already paid. But I don't fly anymore. I just write poetry now. They said what I'm saying they were sitting on a corner. Like they, they, a couple of the girls, like, I don't want it. Like, I'll take it. So they took like far too much and I go some properly. But and then they were sitting on a like a stoop. And the guy's like, what time is it? And he was like, two a.m. It goes, what does that even mean? Oh my god. Yeah, I just properly fucking gone. The only thing I've got similar to it is when I went to, um, I went to Copenhagen and a few times. But they've got the, um, you know, the area. What's it called again? But it's like, well, yeah, Christiania. Christiania. I was told weed was legal, right? Yeah. No, I think it's more they just don't care. You watch the wire? Never. Well, there's an area they call the hamster name in the wire where they're like, hey, we're not going to go drink and public. Just put it in a brown paper bag. So we don't have to see it. Do your drugs there. But I think Christiania, that's what the first few times I went though, it was like, you know, there's like a middle-aged couple like sharing a bomb like it's like a latte. And now I think in the last few years, it's got a bit more like spicy whatever. I think I, from what I understand, the cartels or whatever, the German come in and try to take more power and then the city, the, the people of the city, the village of Christiania, it's basically hippies for those hippies. Yeah, they drive them back. Like, no, you guys are bringing violence. We want violence. Yeah. But they're also hippies. They're like hippies. And it's based like Robocop as in like everyone's dead peaceful, so no one's armed with the ability to like push these guys back. Yeah. And it is a formal army base as well. It's like completely like in the middle of Copenhagen, they're just as army base. And it's just, it's wild. It's, it's honestly top five places in the world for me. And oh yeah. And I loved going. But you, my vibe is you'll get it. It's like, I'm not really like a drugsy person. So I went with two, I went with two primary school teachers, even less drugsy people. And I remember when, when we got there, I was going to like smoke a joint. But then Jen, what they said to me was smoking makes them cough. So that's the sort of level of people I'm dealing with. Oh. And I got the best people. We got, we got weed, we got weed cookies from like this place. But my friend, my friend's lactose intolerant. Yeah. So I had to go up to a drug dealer. And that was like, excuse me, is the milk in these cookies? Like, what's in this like about the swimming milk? I was like, it's not my question. And in Denmark, Danish people's English is amazing. The drug dealers English is not amazing. So he was like, no weed. And I was like, no, no, it's a milk. So I had to ask for the dietary requirements of that. But anyway, the reason I bring that up is because then everyone ate like the entire cookie. But like on the back, it says like, this cookie is the equivalent of like five spliffs or something. But that's probably the end of all that mushrooms. You just do it. Nothing happens. And then you, I mess it up every time. I was in San Diego. This waitress at the Lahoy economy store was making really good weed cookies, peanut butter and stuff and everything. And had half one, she goes take half. And then like 45 minutes later, I'm like, nothing. I'm going to take the other half. My buddy was like, take the other half, but just so you know, this is how every one of those stories start. And I 36 years old. And again, I'm not massively. So I'll do it in like amps to dam or like where it's where it's sort of allowed. I like to, I like to fuck a system, but not my own system. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. And yet every single time this is doing nothing, bang. Yeah. Next thing, you know, you're the only one sitting down at a bone of air concert, which is what happens to me. That was that. What was that drug dealer show on on HBO? Hannibal was on one episode. It's like it's a we delivery guy. All right. Okay. Anyway, but he like, he's always him. And then in different like people that he comes and comes back with. And then he walked in. These two girls were like screaming about a mouse. And he was like, what's going on? And like, what is this? Like Bunny Bear? And he goes, no, I've heard. I've just never heard of play this loud. They were just like blasting it. That's what I knew I'd take in too much when a bono, I felt like I was at a drum and bass concert. I was tripping so hard. I was like, this is bad. When you have to go to the toilet in the middle of a bono, a concert, you know, you've absolutely fucked it. To hang. Like, I just need a bit of peace time, man. I need the chill. Dude, how great is a festival when you're like the Port of Johns are a great place to be alone? When, yeah, when you can find solace in like a plastic box full of other people's shit, you know, you're having a good time. Like, I'll take the smell, doesn't matter. And also there's 10 of them. So nobody's waiting just for that one. Yeah. But then have you ever, I've had it a few times where I've, you ever, that's when if you get someone knocking on the portal, the portal would be in like, you're taking too long. You're like, I must have been in here. So long hours. Because the possibility of what I could be doing is pretty wide range. I could be shitting my ass out. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I could have had, I could be doing like drugs or I could have had a bad barito. There's like, there's literally, there's a whole world of things that could have happened in this port. Yeah. You ever see in Glastonbury? You've been in Glastonbury, right? I've not actually. Because I, you know why? Because I do love Island every summer. So I've never been like, what? I just got to an age where like, Glastonbury was like sort of an option. Because I came from Scotland. I didn't really know about it. And then now I work all the time. My wife like love, like, lives, like, lives it's like. Oh, bro, you gotta go. I mean, I was on last three times. I'm just like refreshing online. I got to, I know I can just like, work it, but I don't want to work. Yeah. There might be people I know that do like, like stand up sort of like, I'm doing 20 minutes a night at like the children in clown tent. Yeah. Just so they can like, I mean they're like dressed as a kangaroo for like an award just so they can go to the festival for a yeah and the bar bomb Is I'm a dirty comic so they put me on later. I'm like that's when the good bands are on. Yeah There's nothing worse than when you get the times and you're like yeah, you're on the comedy stage at eight o'clock You're like I'm not gonna be able to the comics. Yeah, the comics are cool about it like hey my favorite band is playing at this time Can you swap with me and then the lady who runs it's like you can swap if you're good? Yeah, I don't I am a letter I don't an electric picnic in Dublin this year. It's a really expensive kind of music. No, I was just doing there But I knee cap orange. You know them? No, man, they're fucking great. They they wrap an Irish Really young lad. They've got a really cool film out and the one of them wears like a balaclava And they like it's like they really hard they called kneecap. I think it's reference to like kneecap in from like back in the day that during the troublesome stuff They look what's the new cabin in the troubles and you need to take a shot onto the back of someone's leg See so that's kneecap. They're a really cool band man. Freelapse one of them wears like a Tri-color balaclava. Yeah, and they're like sort of like Rappers, but they wrap in Irish they've been on like Jimmy in like Gaelic Irish in Gaelic Irish, and they've been on like Jimmy Kimmel Like wrapping in Gaelic Irish and like they're like yeah, it's are they like hood? I don't know really they I mean like they're really switched on and like they're like really like I mean They say what they want to say it's got a sort of weird like old school rock and roll Or they'll go on like BBC things and just say stuff that there's no way you'd be like political They motivate stuff that there's no way to be allowed to say and they just sort of don't care Also, if you don't know the language, we're like that sounds lovely I'm like I'm talking about killing everyone in here But they wrap in a bit of English. Yeah, you should check them out. They're cool, man Okay, they're loads of fun, and it's like that thing as well. Like just they what they wrap in a language is spoken by about 60,000 people You guys got that too. Yeah, but I don't think it doesn't travel as much like what was I? Irish God's don't travel as much as where a square legal Irish language really. I think that speaks Irish I don't know. What's yours? What's the Scottish one? Gaelic. Oh, that's Gaelic. Yeah, and then this is I think I I mean this kind of Gaelic Yeah, I'm going down a road I've absolutely like this is such a straight white guy figure I've got I don't know this but I can give it a good shot. Oh dude this podcast is full of like your facts are completely wrong Like yep, we're not we're not experts in anyway feels like this is the sort of thing you say Every time here people like I was in this place. It was all this like Like circus stuff, and it was great. What a cool city and people like it was a fair that week That's not how it normally is To the Edinburgh French festival and you're like yeah, there's also like an artist and farmers from like England and America and Edinburgh the whole time You managed to just rock back packing through Edinburgh and like August and like oh wow, this is crazy I think like guys we got to go next June. It's so fun in the summer And there's just like free guys drinking tenants in a pub on the road Okay, what can we look this kind of shit what I'm like I like basically like I don't know if it's same as you I've done that thing where I got to like 23 was like I'm done. No new bands. Yeah, there's a couple sneak through But I like sort of like see weasel last night. Yeah, weasers right in my wheelhouse. Yeah, my favorite band of old time I've brought a bank or frightened rabbit. I remember them. Yeah, they're so sick. Yeah, they're amazing like so But I like sort of like pop punk from that sort of like blink one eight two either like when I was a teenager I'm going to saw them at city field. They're so good. They're amazing. I you know they have a hundred thousand hits but like Live they're so good. I'm like Tom. There's like and Tom to long. What I love Tom to long's got that voice were like It sounds like It's one of those like when someone's really beautiful, but you like this shouldn't He's like a good he's like a good-looking ginger. You're like I've this shouldn't work, but it's on The best look the best looking genders are Finn or maybe I'm saying that because I'm Scottish and that's like in my DNA, but like there's something phenomenal That's what his voice is like big jays to have a joke about going down on a shave ginger because it's too clear You can tell what they had for lunch Oh, you took a doctor pepper. I can see it in your face. Yeah But yeah, man, I love all that and I suppose as well this with that thing as well with blink one two that I'm like really jealous I was a performer, but it's like they just sort of unapologetic that like keep doing their There's so funny. They're like they're like this guy. It's a they're getting older so he'd like spray his throat Yeah, he goes sorry. I got this throat thing I've been munching on her fucking his mom's box for all day and cut my sword my throat sort and they guys like Are you saying you fucked my mom? There's no a lot of us out there a lot of us They don't even they just still do it like they're 19 and it's like if you just if you've lean into it That's like that's like cool. Or is like sometimes I just feel like I quite often like float around trying to be like I'm this thing where I'm the thing and it's just like so hard to just tie yourself down to being like I want to be this is what I do and I don't really give a fuck what anyone says about it. Yeah, there's so much to be said for that I heard a story about them because my buddy's like he's like I've seen him 20 times But first time I saw him so he goes I've seen him 20 times. Yeah, that's where they've ever done. They were ever hercing now for the first time He goes the time to long Yeah, he he just sent a text. You know they broke up. He did his own angels and airway shit and then he like sent a text to The other one hopper hoppers mock hoppers. Yeah, he goes. Hey, what are you up to just just doing shows and it's him with like 14 hot Groupies half naked he goes just thought about you What are you up to and the guy's like I throw cancer and he goes what and he goes yeah, whatever and then Yeah, and they're like oh, we're getting back together We can't this can't be the end of blink when you two and now they've been doing this like reunion. My guest is I'm amazing comedian also you might know him as a host of love Island and he's now switching to a new stint on love on the spectrum Well, he'll be a contestant It's sterling everyone is here. Hey, hey, I contact I contact I kind of we're gonna talk about double that kind of want to talk more about Copenhagen. Did you hang out there? Yeah, we got I've got like two sides of Copenhagen because I used to go with like my friends quite a lot And I really enjoy it and also me my Wife go there quite a lot. I was like you go a lot. We mean my wife. We're gonna go there for our Our like honeymoon. It was like a round Covid type. What do you guys call it? You have a honeymoon you go stacked to Hendo for bachelor parties. Yes, honeymoon honeymoon. Oh, it's same honeymoon honeymoon is honeymoon But then I - At the time, Copenhagen got a weird, this is genuinely true, they got a strain of COVID, it was a mink or the mink. - Was that the mink? - No, the animal, the mink. They all got, it was like a strain of COVID that was born from this mink and they had to close down Denmark while they burned all the mink. So we couldn't go to Copenhagen, we couldn't go to Denmark for our honeymoon. - Wait, what? - If you type in mink, I don't know, is it M-I-N-X or any of that? I don't know, you spell mink. But yeah, strain COVID and it was in Copenhagen, it was like rife and Denmark, it was like a total fact. - It was, here's my Denmark called 17 million minks. (laughing) - And now plans to dig up their buried bodies get out of here ads. - This is why I had to go to Wales for my honeymoon. - What? - Yeah. - Copenhagen break on the minks? - On the minks, yeah. So I don't know what to do. (laughing) - It's so funny. - Don't cover that here. - Yeah, no, I don't think it even caught on anywhere other than people that were going to Denmark. - We would rather go a step too far than take a step too little to come back to COVID-19. So let's kill 17 million mink. - That's like, to any sort of posh New Yorkers work and watch in the show, that's like 500,000 jackets. - I know there's some like, used to be rich, lost everything in the stock market lady, who was like, let's go dig 'em up. I still want to be able to go back in. - Yeah, we can sell 'em on the market. - What have you noticed about, here's what I noticed about Copenhagen, you tell me yours. - I'd love to talk to you. - Let's go into Christian here in a second. But I noticed that the chicks are the most equal of any place I've ever been. - Equal as into the men. - Yeah, that's what I know. They're hot for sure, like anywhere it's getting to the area. But they were like, can I buy you a drink? They're like, you can get this round. But I don't, what do you mean? - I think there's a lot to be said with the drinking culture in that country. I used to live in Norway, which we can get to, yeah. But like, because alcohol's so expensive there, it's tax so high, every country's now catching up in the last sort of 10 years. But do you remember, America must have been the same. In the UK, drinks were like a couple dollars or something. - Nothing. - Yeah, like nothing. - My friend just got back from Edinburgh, from the French. He goes, you used to be, you get a nice glass of scotch for three pounds to 20, and now it's like five. - And they'll be like, drink promos five for a five or all that sort of stuff. But Scandinavia, because their taxes are so high on alcohols, it's always been, like, when I went to uni in Norway, it was like $13 a pint, which was like unheard of, because this is like 2008. - Yeah. - Whereas nowadays, $13 a pint would, it wouldn't like make your eyes water. You'd be like, oh, that's fine. - Oh yeah, exactly. - But when I went to uni there, like, this is not an exaggeration to skin, but I went to in Norway, so it was in 20. And I brought out like 20 bucks and ordered a drink and didn't have enough change for another drink. I went home that night and cried and I'm not like, and I'm not exaggerating. But more so, I was just like, how can I live here? So like, but then the point I'm making is that everyone drinks beers because everything else is so expensive. So I think, I actually think it's a real leveler when everyone's just on the same drink. There's no like, I'm just having a beer and I'll have an espresso martini or a. - Yeah, and then you get fucked at different rates if you're ever on the drink at different. - And everyone's bending the same. Everyone's drinking the same, the quantity is the same. So I think it's just a big equalizer where it's like, it's like, you wouldn't, if you took a girl, I suppose the point I'm making is if you took a girl for a coffee, it would be weird to buy her like four coffees in a row. - Yeah. - Like, you would, because they're coffees. So I think alcohol's like that in Scandinavia now. So the idea of, I'll buy you a drink. It's like, weird to buy drink after drink after drink after drink. - Yeah. Does that make any sense? - Yeah, it makes sense. It makes sense, but also it's just like, we make the same as dudes, you can't win me your affections and even if I don't, I'm still making bad bank anyway. - Yeah, it's a good point. That's not a big deal. - And if we get hard, I'll go to a hospital which is like nicer than my apartment for three. - Yeah. What have you noticed about the place? - Well, the people, definitely what I really like about them and then like, and I wonder what culture is the reason. They're all really like quite cold when you first meet them. - Ooh, it's nice. - But in the minute you get to know them, they become the best people in the world. That's a real Scandinavian thing. It's not cold in like a New York. I'm walking here sort of vibe, but they're just like very stand-offish, very like they're in their circle and I want you penetrate that in our circle. They're like your best friends. - Yeah, you know Daniel Simonson? - Of course, Daniel's like, I mean, it's probably a quite an extreme version of that. - He's extreme, but he's like, everyone in Norway is autistic. I'm just more so. - Yeah. - Yeah, well, I remember when I went to like Norway, it's all the same good thing. We went to watch a Liverpool game like a load of lads and let's say there was 15 of them and me and my friend Robbie were from Scotland and we just sat and not one of them spoke to us for like the first three weeks we went to the football. And then after about the third week, they were like, do you want a beer? And then they were like friends for life, so. - Really? - Yeah, they all talk like Muppets. They all talk like, well, either they talk like Muppets or some of them, their English is so good. They like, just talk like the cast of friends, if you're like my age. I had one guy that's like his massive guy from Stravanger. So he's like a Fisherman background and all that. And he was like, really deep when he spoke Norwegian, I was like, oh, oh, yeah. But he grew up watching the Liverpool football team who's obsessed with a guy called Stephen Gerard. So when he spoke in English, he was like, you are a team, you want to go for a drink or that? - It's like, who's talking? - Really high pitched and weird. And then you go back to almost all the like, really deep, it's so weird, man. - Yeah. - And like having that linguistic like dexterity is like so, as I've read as an American, it's like so. - Is it mean like an Irishman or something who learned English from a Southern American? And so they speak with this Irish Southern accent. - Yeah. - What, where'd you get that? - It's so bizarre. - Yeah. Yeah. Kristiania, I heard there's two rules there. I heard there's no pictures and no running. - Is that true? - Yeah. - I love, I mean, I would happily take that as a rule of all concerts. - Dude, I had to tap somebody yesterday. It was enough. She's filming, it's the whole first song, the opening. I get, listen, I don't want to be a geezer. So I'm like, I get it. We're on our phones, but there's a limit. And she's up here like this. And there's all this fucking visuals and shit. And she's blocking me. And it's like three minutes. And then her friend puts her down. I'm just waiting and eventually I'm like, you know what, conflict. But you're like, please be cool. And you're like, lady, we can't say. - I don't want to watch it through the gig through your phone. I get it. If you want to get them like coming out or whatever, like cool. - Yeah. - But also, do you know what blows my mind even more? Is the people, 'cause I went to the VMAs yesterday. - Nice. I filmed like a bit of M&M, yeah, bomb. I went, yeah, fuck you, I went to VMAs. - Yeah. - Film, M&M coming out. A little bit of Sabrina Carpenter. I don't really know, but she's like really mad famous. So far, I'll film that. - Yeah. - And she had a really cool song. But she's like mad famous. - What's her song? - But then what? - Please, please, please, please. Don't please me now. - How close is that? You look like a Sabrina Carpenter fan. - Please, please, please, please, I love something. - I don't know it, but it's really cool, man. - Okay. - Really good stuff. - Yeah, but. - But then it's the people that filmed the stuff. - Yeah. - For one song. And then spend the next on it. - You got it. - Trying to upload the thing they've just filmed. - Just wait, just do it tomorrow. - Yeah. - You're not CNN. Like you don't need to keep completely up to track with everything that's happening. That's the thing, and then I've literally heard people. And I've also full disclosure, not that badly, but I'm like bad for it myself. - Yeah. - Sometimes you're going, there's no reception in here. Well. - Well then it's over. - Don't then. - That's why I love my venue at the end where it was the Hive. And there was no reception. It was like the brick walls, plus all the dead bodies over the years. - I mean, the Hive basically doesn't have like ventilation system, let alone Wi-Fi. - Yeah, it's so great. You see people trying like, yeah. And they're like, okay, pay attention for it now. - No, no phone badges in there. - Yeah, it's mad. - So the last thing that the VMAs made me feel really, really old is I, there was this girl called Lucy. I think it is. She's like a K-pop star, who's now gone alone. And she done this song called Rockstar. And like, in the moment I was like, oh yeah, she's like a cool vibe. And I was like, you know, I'm doing all right. She seems like a pretty cool person. Maybe I'll give her like a shout out on my Instagram or whatever. And I typed her name into Instagram, clicked it. She has a 109 million followers. - Doesn't need you at all. - Yeah, let me big up ya. - I have no idea the first thing since this lady is more famous than the VMAs. - Oh, those K-pop people. In Vegas sometimes you'll see them and like, why are all these Koreans here? And then like, and then it's some band you've never heard of. And like, they've never heard of them and they're like 1000 people glare at you. Like, 'cause you're an idiot. - But I do like the, again, I do love that there's so much like in America as well. Like VMAs are so much like Latino music and like K-pop and all that. Whereas like when I grew up it was just like, Afro-Livine and nothing else. - Yeah. - So it's like, at least there's like a bit of a variety and stuff which is pretty cool. - Trying to find a picture of you at the VMAs. - Oh, you'll, mate, you'll struggle. Let me tell you that for free. - Who's this guy, do you meet him? Do you fuck him? Do you jerk him off? - Yeah, I think we might have done ya. - So what're you doing, Copenhagen? Let's go back then. - Yeah, sorry, so. - Hey guys. Today's episode of "You've been tripping" is brought to you by Mars Men. Guys, it's your body shutting down. I first went I first went on like a sort of like boys university trip sort of thing. Oh great Like it was so nice because I'd been to Norway so I went to university in Norway And then Copenhagen was like the one place I hadn't done. How'd you get to the universe in Norway? Well, it was back when the UK was in you when when we were in Europe This is what's so bad like I don't want to get I really don't want to get into this now, but like Before when we were in Europe you could for free Through a program go to any university anywhere in Europe that was on the same Program I got to go to Norway for a year for free. Wow And now you I can't There's some little negatives that you don't expect. I mean you got you got it so you don't go to university I don't know what the positive I don't know the positives are but I do I was Taking a train to Amsterdam from London. Yeah, there last Pre-easy three hours. Yeah, direct and then I'm like oh, it's like driving the length of New York in traffic. Oh, yeah It's nothing. It's great. Yeah, the trains are so beautiful anyway, and so then I was like oh I got 15 minutes. Let me go smoke a Smoke a cigarette yeah To do when I go there. I'm gonna I'm gonna lean into that And then I yeah, then I get back and they're like hey, you got to do like the paperwork first I'm like no, no, I'm just going train like new country. You got to do this up. You missed it. Oh, I'm honest. I love jet You need more than 15 minutes It's like getting the euro start of France. You like a my mate went with it my mate Him and his girlfriend at the time so the few years ago the relationship was like on the rocks So he tried to take her to Paris got all the way to the train station. They were like passports He was like I've not brought my passport this relationship's already The red bear and he was basically I didn't know you need a passport to get on a trade. Yeah You know, it's like a plain thing and in these girlfriends like we're passing a port Oh, I need a passport you idiot You're like fucking bitch you can do this in front of the train conductor like this Men and that was then ended Funny but yeah, so I used to go know obviously and I went so we went to Copenhagen like on like a like a guy's trip And then but like there's just so much cool like I they've got like What's mad about it? It's like it's like it's got Everything's like so close together You can walk from like a sort of like christiania, which is like everyone's like a hippie is what Sweden you walk like seven minutes and you're at like the palace What's the palace they have a royal family? They got a royal family. Yeah, yeah So it's it's interesting because it's christ christian christiania christiania is so much different than the rest of it So the rest of it's like this shit. This is what I mean. Yeah, it's just like the center of it Just real nice and stuff and they've got like definitely like a bit which is like a big like um Theme partly. So it's was like in the middle of the city really gorgeous. Yeah, yeah, did you go to it? Yeah, I've been to a few times. They've got like Teft if oh, yeah, I passed it was a big clown outside. Oh, yeah, it's right in the middle of the city like if you type in like Copenhagen theme park It'll be the first thing that comes up There's a tibley gardens. Yeah, yeah, I was right. Yeah. Oh, we just heard your accent with the view of the f Yeah, never been in. It's a great thing about this accent. I can just see. Yeah, that's what I said You can miss pronounce someone's name John. Yeah, that's what I said. Yeah, I know with the accent though. It's crazy Yeah, it's really cool. And that's like right slap bag in the middle of the city as well. It's like really fun Where are the bikes you get on the bikes? Yeah, loads of bikes. And now they go. How are you? And now yeah, perfect man And everyone's so like polite weirdly about it. You know, they're mad aggressive if you fuck up I got some aggressive. I got some aggression. So like okay, they're not like and I don't know what's like in New York But in London people hate cyclists like they hate them. I'm in from other cyclists. Oh, right Oh, I'm getting were you like a nebri I can no, no, I don't mean a dick, but I picture you like Slalamin around like totally fair. I was not okay. Sorry I'm like oh, guys, there's recording an intro to an episode on my bike drunk on my bike coming home And then I fell and it's all on my like awesome And I can bet you in some of the shirts. You're like what's your fucking problem, man? Chill bro. No, it's like when you start They're experts because they do it all the time. Yeah, so I start slowly. You have to kind of Oh, yeah, it's not things like watch it. I don't have start straight. It's hard. Yeah. I mean there is that thing of it when you go Know that thing when you never forget but when you go in a bike for the first few times you are like Yeah, just get going. I mean, have you been since they got all the electric ones? No, but what they've got the electric ones name What's mad as they've got that like system on it? Where if you go outside of a certain perimeter of the area the Just like switches off and you really like a pedestrian base like so clever Oh, I don't know how they do it. Yeah. It just doesn't work. I don't know how they do it It's so weird in Paris. They had like where you duck Yeah, yeah, but like only in certain areas and we try to do it not that area like no you're fucked yeah Well, there's a few in Breton and and in over in Europe and literally they've got this thing where like you've got this like motorized bike But if you get they've like GPS or something. So if you go into a pedestrianized area the It'll shut down. It'll work, but the the like battery pack like if you actually oomph just cuts out So just like a regular bike like really slow the harder. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's good idea It's really cool, and they've got a little scooters and stuff, but there's loads of insane restaurants in Copenhagen as well Where have you been? I again, I've not done my my recent I didn't know about Yeah, did you do it? Yeah, me and Bobby Kelly were there for a festival. You did normal like the full Taster me all the way from yeah, my mom told me you should get reservations like okay, oh, I was gonna say did you get them now? Yeah, I better say about what was but such as I get you booked normally eight months in advance. I didn't understand I was like yeah, two weeks out. I'll get something. I'll just sort of get And then they'll like no That's like that's like that's like rocking up to Madison Square Garden on the day of Taylor Swift. Yeah, like um oh, we five please Like it doesn't work that way Yeah, they were like, but the guy who's running the festival was like we should just go there to like see it It's pretty cool and see how they get that they like make their spoons at a factory next door Banana's this place. Have you been yeah, we've went once before yeah Yeah, but so then we just went and one of the head chefs not the guy, but like one of their his head chefs was American It's all these crazy chefs studying under that guy. Yeah, they all come through from there like there's like few guys at the There's a place called the fat duck in the UK now and a load of guys came from normal one of the trainers there Yeah, and they do this like and the fat duck the dessert is like this like let's pillow that literally floats in the air Because the the plate must have like air in it or something and then this floating pillow spins round and you can have your em dinner off it It's so crazy. What? I bet I've got a picture of it. No way really if you've got if you got it there we do fat duck Yeah floating pillows. Is it this? Yeah, that thing no way and then your dessert it spins round and you eat your dessert off it I don't know how they do it. It must be magnets or something But the whole it was your dream meal so the whole they what do you mean? Before you go to fat duck you have to fill this massive long questionnaire And then as you go for the course is like there's like a Underwater thing where like there's like little treasure chest and they've got like emblems to like My wife had like the Irish flag on it because she'd mentioned she liked Ireland and all that and then the end under the whole dream male you get this floating pillow. - And that's all from René Ritzepi from Noma. Where's the training? - Well this was, this was Hestin Blumenthal. Do you know Hestin Blumenthal? - Sure. - He's like, there's British, if you became famous for a while, 'cause he used to do things like, like apps insane things like he'd be like, "Oh, here's a pint of ham." Like it'd be like weird, weird, weird mixtures. But I know all of the Noma guys like work for them. Oh, there's Hestin Blumenthal there. I see the bald guy stood next to him. - This dude? - Yeah, he's like famous for like-- - Going nuts. - Yeah, you can do that. - I didn't understand what experiential meals were. - Yeah, Noma, did you do this at ManuX? - So we went, we just-- - What happened? - We didn't get in for-- - Yeah, so we went, we said-- - This is a life hack for anyone. - Yeah, and we were like, oh, we're just Americans here on a county festival, nice to meet you. And he goes, well, this is the place to take a look. It was before anything opened for the day. And-- - I'm having another drink, because this is amazing. - Yeah, yeah. And then it was like, oh, nice to meet you, it's cool. And then we're like, oh, I'm on the wait list, but we couldn't get reservations. It's like, oh, cool. And the wait list is not really an order. That's where we found out. - Oh. - The wait list is up here in the discretion. - Well, I imagine they don't have to worry about it, because I reckon there's people that have lost loved ones like the day before who are like, at that side, but we booked this in like nine months ago. - Yeah, and I can't go. - Where I'm going. - I'm making it. - Yeah, right. So anyway, they called me, it was about taking a nap, and they called me, it was like 11.30 AM, and they were like, maybe 12, and they were like, hey, we have it opening for lunch. Can you get down here? - Bro. - Because the guy was like, your cool, I'll put you to the top of the wait list without telling it to us. - Yeah, yeah, of course. - And there's always a couple cancellations. - Yeah. - And I was like, yeah, and I called Bobby. I was like, can you come down? And the guy ran, I was like, did more than said, they have two. And Bobby's like, I can't, man, we just order pizza. And the guy was like, bro, let the pizza go. You gotta get down there. - I mean, you're gonna save a bit of money doing the pizza. - Yeah. - Yeah, it was a 26-core lunch. - It's insane. Yeah, I think we-- - How long was it? - The dinner at Norma was like three and a half hours. - Yeah. - It was like three and a half hours. I couldn't believe it. And we didn't do the wine pairing, which apparently not. - You did not. - We'd done wine through the meal, but we didn't do the pairing. (machinery whirring) The new Pertupe by Bert. Makes all the ladies go squirt, squirt, squirt. (machinery whirring) - I guess, you know who's cool? - That's right. - We're all thinking the same guy. And you know why he's cool? - Uh-uh, some of you might have the wrong answer here. - No, it's not 'cause he had sex with his maid and had a child with her and raised him as if it was this full-blooded marriage child. It's 'cause while he was dealing with all these smokey cigars, Arnold Schwarzenegger smokes cigars. He's one that covers cigar-efficientado. But how do you get 'em? You're new to it. Woo, that's hot. So I don't know what the translation was of the time. 500 bucks each. But that's lunch. Imagine dinner's off again and the wine pair is more again. And Bobby was an alcoholic. Is an alcoholic. So he's like, oh, I don't drink. Like, we have a juice pairing for you. They spare no expense. They're just ready for everything. So amazing, man. It's just such a cool place. What do you remember? Do we have pictures of it? Yeah, I've got some pictures and I've got, well, I've actually trying to find this other one. I've going to try and find this one other place. I can remember what I had. They've done this amazing. So it was like a sea theme thing. Would you do a theme for that? Yeah, for the dinner. So it was like, they had this like these like, cockles and muscles, but they were on like, the plate was like a beach. It had like, but ice and like, sand to like rip. So it was like, it was like, it was like, you're picking them off the beach. And the, do you do any, do you have like, sounds and stuff with yours when you didn't launch? Sounds. I don't remember that. 'Cause they did it at the fat duck and they did it at normal little girl. Sound like sound. They give you heads, heads, say. Oh, definitely not. Yeah, we had the heads set, like, listen to music while we had some of the food and stuff. Shut the fuck up out there. You're ruining everything. Let me find this thing. Yeah. And then, so we had the muscles that was amazing. Not, and you don't fill up on anything. It's like three bikes. Oh no, everything's so small, this pickled cucumber that sounds, you have to go to know, but like, you'll know, there's just like pickled cucumber. And I was like, pickle, pickle. And I had it and I was like, oh my God, this is like insane. It had this like spicy dress and with it it was like, pickled and like the sharpness of the pickled cut with like the spice and like, it's a little bit sour. It's a thing of like, it's a, you get a taste. You're like, I've never had anything like this. You're like, well, you have two more bites. You may as well enjoy it. It almost reminds me of like, do you know when, do you know him like that thing about like, comedians that don't like post anything anywhere? So all like, they like comedians that only have like a couple of specials. And you're like, these are amazing. You're like, yeah, because you've done like, it's yeah. It's not online. You can't watch over and over and analyze like what's going on. So you saw it in the room at the time. You think it's amazing. And then your brain like fills in the gaps. I see, uh huh. Whereas if you watch something, you're like, that's stuff. You ever watch a clip, you're like, so funny. Then you show up to your friends. And then they watch, you're watching at the second time. And they're like, oh, yeah, I can't spot all of that. It was way slower. I must have been super high when I watched it. I think I wasn't acid. Yeah. Oh my god, Norma. Here is, I've got this website, man. What? The normal website? Just it's so cool. I want to try, I'm so interested. Should I try and see if I book Norma when's the next available table? Yeah. The next is the, there is even one. I want to see. Oh, I think he closed. Is it done? I think so because he said he read all the stuff about doing sustainable, like living wage for all your employees. It would like, hey, the restaurant industry doesn't pay enough. And he goes, I actually read this and I agree. They are not making enough. But if I pay them all what they deserve, I can't be in business. So, okay, I guess I'm out of business. No way. Is it open still or not? The website is still up and running. Can you make a reservation? I'm trying to, I'm going to exploretalk.com. But it's not really loading up. Do you need the wafer? No, it's fine, here we go. Oh, it's Kyoto. Oh, yeah, he had a pop up in Japan. This is mad. Now, I don't think it is. All reservations sold out. All reservations for it have been sold. Yeah, it's all sold out. And that's the Kyoto one. And that, and for, and for, and for Denmark as well. I can't believe you went on the day Okay, winter 2024 was the last season of NOMA as we know it. We were beginning a new chapter, NOMA 3.0 in 2025. But it's funny about sustainability and all that because Denmark are mad into that. All the hotels I stay in, like, even you get your room card and are like, this room card's been made by Ruinsville Bamboo. They're good on recycling. They're really good on that. They love it. They've got, they get their bins in order. I was on a boat there because it was like watered on the middle of the city and somebody took me out and a boat and we were drinking. And then afterwards he was going to throw his trash away, took all the bottles and put it by the trash can. And he goes, no, the bum's, the bum's will take this. Yeah. It's like every moment is safe. And they can cash them in for money, yeah. I didn't actually know that was a thing. I should just think that people just went through bins and collected. I thought they were making like, like, lighten, lighten for their homes. I used to vibe in the world. I'm such an idiot, man. I'm such a moron. Yeah. And then Christiania is just, it's just, I think it's the best weed in Europe. Sorry, I'm so down. Well, it would explain it because every time I've been, I've gone with people that don't smoke weed. And I'd sort of loosely include myself in that circle. Yeah. And every time, We've done it the people I'm with have gone insane Unrelatively little. Yeah, and that it's like pretty cool to watch them. Yeah, and it's also like it's just pretty good like strong stuff Yeah, the problem is you're not yeah, it's also weird as a British person I imagine drugs to be this like really illicit and illegal thing and you think you think it's gonna be like a scene from breaking bad And it's basically just you walk into this like happy Resort and they're all like that. It's like a German Christmas market. Wow. Yeah, they're all like that Like literally fairy lights and all that and they've got like special offer boards up and stuff and it's like all out in the open Yeah, illegal though, but but fine there in that little area And it doesn't look like there's stalls are like it's not like a guy like trying to sell sneakers on this side The road were like he's in a bag ready to like yanking gold. Oh, yeah, it's right permanent, right? It's like set up The police do apparently the police do show up and like read it I really yeah, I think I've heard that but I really do think it's like hey the the hell's angels or whatever are coming in We that's not what we want we want a peaceful thing so they sell weed and they sell mushrooms They told me it was just the The nonviolent drugs and I was like what about acid. They're like that's a borderline I mean the nonviolent job. I mean the whole cut how it got there and stuff, but it's it's amazing. You know the history of it? I don't I know it used to be a naval base like an army base. I think it was that and then and then Denmark is like oh, yeah, right We're not ever gonna fight no more. Yeah, it was like what were two air still do consul still do like Consul still conscriptor kids into the army for a couple of years just to get them even bigger and even more Scandinavian looking Yeah, well then shut them into like oil at like 21 with their absolute tank to walk a rifle for no reason whatsoever But are all these hippies moved in and just like let's just squat in these in these barracks I think after a while though like it's ours We've been here for five years and then the government's like actually you're right Just make sure nothing falls apart and they just yeah, they've not caused them any hassle You would think as well the way the world's going as well like in terms of a properly redevelopment or whatever you think Yeah, you think they'd be like no House is around it got posher or like get these people out or they could just use it for like land some developer would just totally sort of where they don't Care about that. Yeah, it's also in the middle of the fucking down. I can't be more prime location Like this is another thing it comes right here. This is another thing that Copenhagen in the middle of the town It's got a Fuck what you call that fun fear a theme Yeah, yeah, they've got a theme park. Yeah, and an illegal drugs market. It's like The map it's maps like it's like a fucking GTA game. Yeah, yeah, you're like how may another district already but it's right there It's so fun and then I remember as well like it's so funny I remember one time when I went I like smoked too much weed Yeah, and I've got high and I just wrote all I remember is let's look the first time and I went over to some guy and he was like The barman without even flinch and I was like can I water what I felt and he was like please be high over there And I just look over into the corner and in the corner of the room There's just like three other British guys that have just like done a bit too much and I remember just being in this corner Just playing like fuzball and just laughing so hard at like how small the numbers on the shirts of the back of the players were And then at one point I remember my friend nearly got in a fight because he's just was stuck in this guy's ongoing your jacket feels amazing I think I said I've not got a jacket That's my back here And then this like fight really breaks out but like but that there's never any ball there But I do think I do think it's getting sketch here. Well, it goes up and down so the somebody shot a cop Right, that'll do it and then they're like fuck all this and but then I think the people take the power back away from the drug dealers But I had one where I was sitting on a part of they have these benches like like picnic tables And I'm sitting there and some guys sitting near me and then he's sitting closer and closer Just like a sketchy looking like kind of gypsy Yeah, and then I realized he was like smoke further and I like moved over a little more and then I'm like Oh, this is like you're see up and he's just like walk I realize I'm like you don't want me here Right, I get it but they have those park areas you can smoke But like but again, I feel like for a man doesn't do a lot of drugs This has been like quite a drug a podcast with you, but they think about The thing about this place and Denmark is like it doesn't feel like you're in like a drug. You know, it's not just sitting around picnic tables with like middle class And the art is so crazy. Oh my god all the all the cool like works on the walls And all that and they sit and then there's loads like heavy sound like cool little trinkets and stuff like that You know what there was loads of so many young kids and those like bikes that strap onto the back No, those like trolleys that strap onto the back of the bikes like those Oh, yeah, yeah, like literally that everyone had one of them like just kids in it having a nice time playing around Yeah, the kid that like the local kids do like like Field trips out there. Yeah, and then shit like this is just like the see that yeah That's they just have like weirdo outside of art. Yeah, so it's nice if you're high, but even if you're not high It's cool. It's just cool place. Yeah, that's why I just wanted to be like I did that in the early days But then there's also like there's so much like the palace and that's really sick out They've got like a they've also got like palace. They've also got like Michelin star restaurants. It's like it sort of feels like a made up place. Yeah Like there's just so many different vibes. It's sort of weird that they've got so many Oh shit I know there's something pull out Another blaster my vape fucking bastard Well that fuck anything How long have you got had the half and half about two weeks? Two weeks. No, I got it for like a live podcast. I was like fuck it. Let me just do so I've got to cut it anyway, and then I was like It then I and then I died this side too to make it like more rich or sharp What happens when you go like shopping and stuff that people look at me You know who loves it more than anybody, and I didn't expect this Black homeless men. Oh, yeah, because it's wild Yeah, but black homeless white homeless men are not as into it Black homeless ladies are not as into it. What do they say? Home full men are not as into it. What do they say? That's fresh son Fresh really. Yeah, they use their slang from the book. Are you not on awkward level though? Like because when I like I'm at that level in the UK at least People might recognize me, but then they might not know what they recognize me from or I don't know if they know they recognize me Do you want air on that? You're just a voice. You're on air. I'm just a voice But I do like stuff on screen in the UK But the reason I'm not saying that for that reason that's but what I mean is like are you not at a level now where When you're writing about do you see people looking at you and you're like, oh do they like listen to my podcast or have I shaved half my head? Yeah, I'm getting it slightly different Is this a Joe Rogan guy or is this a he's shaved his half his head? Well, yeah, you used to it too. You get this like oh, it seems to like you know, it's like a double take But now the double take is just like one beat off. It's like Like that where it's like oh, no, you don't know me at all. You're just looking at the fuck that would do my that would do my head Yeah At least I know yeah, people are staring sometimes like people over step where they just keep staring You know because they know you from something and you're like I'm right enough ready But this is like what the fuck's with your head? I'm trying to think if I saw you in real life what I would think like if I didn't know you Yeah, if I'd be like this guy's Alipresha or like Mentally unstable As long as people leave me alone. I'm great But for fuck yeah, my friend wrote his mustache like that to get people away from him But then there was negative results. We just kept touching his face. Yeah. No, I was literally about to say I the long beard for a long time and it is It is insane how many people think it's okay to come up and be like yeah Yeah, like especially when drinks involved obviously. Yeah crazy What else you get into there in Copenhagen? So what I love Chris? I love Chris Chad this you take a stroll You have a join or something you're taking a stroll down a road like this and you're just seeing these people You know about the basic human rights there. No water is a basic human right so you can go to any door and say my please have a couple water Oh really like really cool fake beyond inhumane to say no, you can't have running tap water That's amazing. I did not know that. I know when you walked out into it You have to go for that mad like can that did you do the walk down for the canal to go up to like an entrance area, right? And like all the engines are because it is a former Nate like naval army camp when you first walk in You are like this place is sketchy. Yeah But then you get in and you're like actually this is cool friendly and cool It's not always I wouldn't I don't have a tang about there after dark map. Yeah, I have not been there after dark Yeah, but then other than other than that. I've done like the palace like there's some really cool There's other really cool stuff to see like like what else oh here. Here's the entrance way It's like you got to go through a little gate like that. Oh that see that is a lot of you first time you go You are like what am I? Yeah, because also like that doesn't that means no exits That means I have to come through this to get out. Yeah, and it's like it's like narrowing in and like it sort of it has that sort of like Childreny but like kiddie but like horror film like it's made yeah bright of chucky sort of vibe when you're going in Free town, christiania, and it's a stop on the subway. That's what it is. It's a free time with ink up and here again But yeah - Yeah man, there's loads of. - Yeah, what else do you get into when you're there? - So yeah, like went to the palace or the royal family and all that. I went to see the football team there. FC Copenhagen. - Oh yeah? - They're really good FC Copenhagen. Really good Kets. - What does that mean? - Like streps, outfits, what do you call that? Uniforms. - What do they got? Is it striped? - FC Copenhagen. It's like blue and white, blue and white. The badge is like quite fun. Some of their kits over the history has been like really nice. Like really nice white. - What do you call Kets? - Kets. - K-I-T-S. Kets. - And what does that mean? - Kets. - Just your outfit. - Football Kets. - Jersey? - Jersey. - Kets. K-I-T-S. - Kets. - Kets. - Your kit. - Yeah, I've noticed it's been in New York. We were laughing about the other day. I said I was talking about having Kets. And everyone in the audience was like, Kets, you got new shoes, like what? - Pro Kets. - Yeah, I was like, Kets. - Short words with a vowel in the middle of a nightmare. But yeah, they've got really cool kits. And what's also great about Danish football is the standard solo. You sort of watch it and think, if I had the seasons strip, I reckon I could. - I could get in there and still play. - I could definitely play the last five minutes, I reckon. And not like massively stand out. - Dude, I was with a friend from Newcastle. We were in Myanmar. And he's part of my travel group, whatever. But we got to some Buddhist monastery. And they were playing football, soccer. And he goes, "Guys, hold my stuff." And it was just like, and he was like younger kids, but like, you know, 16, 17, 18, but he goes, "I need to show them." And it was just like, it's another level. Raising the UK playing football. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - It was another level before. - Yeah, you sort of, like, yeah, it'd be like me trying to play basketball, it'd literally never. Yeah, I'm just laughing. - Yeah, and I came into like, yeah, exactly. Anyone from here could come into like, probably the professional level. - Yeah, I reckon any American who, like, grew up playing in college, or whatever, could like walk into the British basketball league. And like, not be good, but get away with it. - Right, be fine. That would be a light one. - The only reason you get found out is when they heard an American was coming, they'd be like, "This person is must be sick." So they do too much hype around you. - Yeah, it must be nice to be in a league where you're like, we want a league, we're, you know, also still bad. Just less bad. - Well, these guys, these guys are all, you get like to like, Champions League, which is like a big European saying, the beat Manchester United recently. - Whoa, which is pretty cool. But Manchester United was like the worst Champions League performance of any, like, English team in like years. - They just don't care. - So they just, a bit of a shame. - You know what my team is? - Who's your team? - Guess, in the Premier League. - I would guess, I'm-- - Who's your mind? Who would you say I-- - Tottenham. - You're correct. - Yeah. - What I went was, I was going to go really cerebral, having areas, all right. Okay. (all laughing) I've done, I overthought it. - I was giving a team in Edinburgh. I was hanging out with some people. Fuck it. - I bet. - The fritters are so fun. - I bet. - Brothers people are so liberal that if you said, what's my team, they'd probably be like, I don't know. - I don't know. - Maybe like Manchester City, I don't know. - It was some Londoners. They had a bunch of Molly. They were just like Molly. And like, I've never seen a dished out like this in a little tissue paper. And then just like, there you go. And I'm like, what? I better just met you. And you're just gonna eat the tissue paper. - Can I just eat for the record? I've never done Molly. But if someone offered me a-- - Mandy? - No, but if someone offered me a grape, I'd never met in a tissue paper. I'd be like, no, I don't want it. (laughing) I'm so-- (laughing) I could be bleeding in the street and some could open a plaster. And I'll open a tiger chef. And I'm like, no, I don't know you, that's gross. - That was like, all right. You guys were all doing it. So we're all talking. We're free sisters. - Of course you were. Free sisters like, the shady is bubbing the friend. And our man came up to you with powder and attention. - But they were like, hey, no, you should watch Champions League. It's like really or primarily, whatever. It's really good. And I'm like, okay, who should I root for? And they were like, Arsenal man, you should be Arsenal. And one of his other bodies was like, what do you guys talk about? Like, well, we want him to just start watching football. And he's like, we're telling him Arsenal. And he goes, no, don't them. And they go, they were all like, oh, yeah, don't. Don't, Mr. James. (laughing) He was like, oh, of course, why didn't I think of that? Way to go for getting it. - Oh, yeah, you go. What could I say? I'm a London boy. I know the vibes. - Every time I pass by a hot spurs shirt now here, I'm like, spurs, it's our years. - There are people like, what? You don't want me? - Collies, come on, you spurs. - Have you ever gotten laid in Denmark? - No, Norway when I was at university there. - Yeah. - That was wild because obviously everyone's so beautiful. - So pretty. - And then obviously you show up looking completely normal, but you're different, and different, it's like amazing. - Are you the most attractive man in Scottish history? - No, Daniel, it's Daniel Sloss. - No, Daniel's a hideous, no, he's gross. You have to look at him for real. He seems good only if you're looking at him in Scotland. Dith, his eyes are wrong. He's not, it's not, look, he's in shadow because that, he's got a lot of burn there. - No, that's not, that's not, that's not, that's not, - This is him real without the fucking stuff. - Look at him, no, it's all off. - Yeah, but I'm like, who looks, who looks good ever really? - Yeah, I think it's very fun to be hot. - Yeah, that was a, that was a weird time when he was doing the whole. - Yeah. - But on saying that, I have absolutely no standpoint on googling people's images of me and that look at the state of this guy. 'Cause I am. - You have some hot ones? - Met, I used to do kids TV. There's some absolute wild pictures of me on the internet. - Really? - Like dressed up as like Shakespeare's wife, dancing around the middle of the street. Yes, I think that's exact same vibe. That one there of me, the same thing. - Yes, I mean, it's thrilling. Why won't it click anywhere there we go? What's happening to my computer? - This is like, do you know this is like this? - No, you look like a dork, like in this one, you look just like a dweeb, you look way less hot. Were you fat there? - Yeah, I've lost like quite a bit of weight recently. - What, is this you now? - No, that's the guy, that's the guy. - What happened? - That's the guy that was on Love Island America before I worked on it. So I just done a tweet like, oh, delighted to be on the news series of Love Island America. - Wait, so is love Island, are you on Love Island America? - Yeah, I do the voice over it. - You do the voice of that too. What is Nicky do for it? - Nicky? - Oh, she does fuck boy Island. - Fuck boy Island. - Oh, yeah, Nicky, yeah, yeah. Look at that one, my friend. Look at that. - Yes? - That was just, that is why, that was-- - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Was that what I met you? - No, that was my, that was my, that's when my, that's when me and my wife had just met and she allowed that to be a thing. And I don't mind looking, and also the thing about that is, there's nothing wrong with looking like shit and you don't care. But that's me thinking I'm cool. Try my absolute best. - You want to go on well, but please, I can't do it. - That's Princess Trust, right? That's the now king of England's like charity thing. I've made, that's me like, I've bought a suit, got my favorite glasses on, done my hair. - That's you trying. - That's me making my absolute most effort, I've ever made for anything. - You're so much better looking now than there. - That wasn't that long ago. - Wow. - So yeah, that's the vibes. - Hold on, no, I gotta, no, I gotta add fat to it. (laughing) - I was never like big, big, I don't think. - No, that sucks. I wish I could have gotten a fucking pork or picture of you. - Yeah, that's annoying. That's when I was at my thinnest in that blue suit. You go down a little bit. That picture with me and my wife. I was like, they're what makes to it. - Nice suit, is that velvet? - Yeah, that's the most in shape I've ever been. - Bro, what's about, nice pull way out of your league. - Oh, unbelievable. - Wow. - Yeah, you're welcome. - Wow, one for the dorks. (laughing) - That's when you go, I need to, that's like, I got, I got signed, I got promoted and I needed to like, up my game. - Wait, does the color change colors? Or is it just something else? - Yeah, no, it's like a swayed velour vibe, so it's like. - But this side is different than that side? Or is it catching the light? - You look, this conversation now feels like every conversation I've had stones in my entire life. (laughing) - I'm not a bad person. - The counts as that. - Yeah, no, I think it's the velour, so the way the light catches it. But yeah, that was the most in shape I've ever been in my life. It sucks. But have you ever got in shape at all? And then I thought, I thought I'd like to finish my journey and then you like, just go back to normal for like a week and you're like, ah, fucked again. - Yeah. - It's so annoying. - Yeah. - You're right. - Yeah, it's like, you gotta be non-stop. - I'm gonna go back to drinking my whisky. - I'm gonna have another glass. What was I gonna say? All right, well let's talk about, just finish it up with Denmark and stuff. Like, what are some stuff that people would not have expected that you saw there over the years or whatever? - Yeah, well, I mean. - Was it dangerous at all? - No, I felt so, Cristiana, the later years at night, yes. - Yeah, okay. - But there they are, no. And otherwise, no, not at all. I think what you wouldn't, how equal friendly they are is actually mind blown to people. - That's. - There's a tiny bit of it, man. I don't wanna take that, I don't wanna take that, I'll do it. Like, like, it's not an exaggeration. It is like, everything's made from recycled, there's recycled that. - Yeah. Like, yeah, the key cards at hotels, like, made it like Bamboo. - That's like not in the Fromers' Guide or the Blowney Planet Guide. - No, nothing, everything, bikes, everyone's, everyone's cycles everywhere. - And it gets cold. - Oh, man. The other thing as well, you know when someone's like, you know when someone's not your opinion, when they go to Scandinavian country, you can just, basically, if you don't bring a proper winter coat, you can tell a tourist because they're basically just wearing every item of clothing they brought to the place. Like, I can see you in like five shackets and a couple of jumpers, 'cause you didn't think to bring like-- - My buddy Steven Estella, he said that, he goes, "You can tell the tours because they don't wear the right coat, "they just wear more of the wrong thing." - Yeah, that's so true, you just wear like four or five wrong shirts. - And show it in another shirt on his hoodie. - Oh my God, 'cause you literally, in Copenhagen, from about mid-September, you need like a puffer or tick survival jacket. - It's so cold. - That's not a thing, the people there, they can make big jackets like so sexy. Like, they've got these like designer puffer, like whenever I wear a coat, I always feel like, I feel like I'm sort of like a 1950s explorer. And they've just wear these like, hilly hands and I think it's called like cool puffer jackets of like, jeggings and you're like, "You look so fucking cool." Or is I just like, my granddad, like it's so weird. - Yeah, yeah, they hair stylish. Here's why I noticed. Wait, I lost it. What was the food like at the scone? I'll get it back. - Oh, they met the. - What is the Danish food? - Pickled and fish, they love that. - Yeah. - Pickled stuff. And like pickled herring is like a big thing over there. - Yeah. - Have you ever tried that? - Yeah, that's a Jewish food too. That's an overlap. - Is that genuinely, I didn't know that. - Pickled herring is a big one. A true traditional Jewish food. - How come pickled herring's a Jewish thing? - I don't know, we'd love it though. It's like a big thing. - It's always where we're not asked something like that. And it's like, there's like a really sad story. - Like story attached to all they could get in. - That's all we had when we were like, trapped and then, God, I'm such like a white British guy. I'm like, what do you mean, hard shit? - Yeah. - S'more bread, that's a good one. - S'mores. Oh, S'more bread is like, it's really nice. - Yeah, it's just a little toasty like melba toast with like. - It's hard to explain on it 'cause it's like really crumbly thick brown bread, it's really nice. - Yeah, it's a crumbly brown bread. Oh, they have hot dogs there too, don't they? - Pulse, what is it? - Pulse. - That's the hot dog? That's what they call sausage and Scandinavia, yeah. They sort of do like, there's like 7, 11 sausages, but they're sort of more of a delicacy rather than like a health and safety nightmare. - Yeah. - But yeah, they love that. Mayonnaise on their chips, I think that's an American thing. - Mayonnaise, huh? So you do that? - On french fries. - Fry, sorry. - Yeah, that in America? - It's mostly ketchup and mustard. - Yeah, they do mayonnaise, which is disgusted. - Yeah. - Amsterdam, Holland did that as well, Amsterdam. - Does that, oh yeah, they do it, hella. Like mayonnaise, what? - It's so disgusting. - It's like the fannyest thing to eat too. - It's so gross. - Just get mustard, it's almost like no calories. - Yeah, it's gross. It's gross. - Yeah. - I can't really, I can't just clean. It's just so clean. - It is clean. - So nice. - What were my observations about? - So cold. - Yeah, they got some good museums. - Really good museums. They've also got nice museums and they've not got the whole undercurrent of like, they actually borrowed stuff, which is nice. Instead of stole it, it's so funny how people like, we want that back now. No, we've had this for 300 years. - It's what's insane about the UK museums at the minute. It's like, now you become more and more educated on it. It's like that thing of like, I don't not don't mind, but I get that like, we stole a bunch of shit and we've got it in a museum and like, that's history and like, you need to write that wrong. But like, to this day, there's still like, I'm just going, can we have our jail back? And we're like, no. - No. - We're looking at it. - Yeah, we're in the middle of looking at it. I'll tell you when no one looks at it for a week or two and then I'll maybe give it back. - Come over here, pay eight pounds. You can look at it. - And it's like, I get it, it was stolen. I didn't steal it though. Someone else stole it. - It's like, you fight the skippers. - Yeah, it's like, when you have a lighter, you're like, you didn't pay for that. I'm like, but I didn't steal it from you. - Oh my God. Yeah, so that's the one thing that blows my mind to say British, Britain's still doing that. - Yeah. God, what was my fucking observation of Copenhagen? It was somewhat expensive. People drink though, which is nice. - People, I need drinks, I need drinks. - And also, watching everyone in a bar drink beer is a fun thing. - Yeah. - Church of the Holy Spirit. What is going on with my phone? - They also have the, well, we have it now here. It's just the tap and go. It was so great. Like another round, it's like pop. - I remember like, when I was at uni there, they used to do, when I was at university, oh, that was a really nice meal I had there was. When I was at uni there, they used to use like, I remember the use like, people using like, against like, 2009 they'd use like, tap and go for like, chewing gum and stuff. And I remember thinking, at the time I was like, this has been, because everything was so expensive. - Oh yeah, gum was like 40 bucks, but it's like, okay. It was so expensive. You're gonna have to get ready for that if you go. - And what's more insane is, norwegians go to Sweden for like their big shops, it's cheaper. Sweden go to Copenhagen, literally drive over the border to do their big shopping, come back, and then Denmark are just like, fuck, but like that's, Denmark's that expensive, and it's still, but thanks to Britain and, thanks to inflation, Britain and America are still like, we're like, it's like, they're like trying to catch them up. - Dude, it's funny when you go to a place, and you go back when the dollar or the pound is just stronger. And then you're like, is everything cheaper? Like, no, no, just whoever your evil dictator was at the time has just made your economy better. - It's like, I remember, America for me was a grew up, and I can't just stay, not maybe when, like, two people in your whole area would go to America, and everyone would give them money for trainers and jeans, leave I jeans and trainers, 'cause it was so cheap. - Oh, yeah. - And then they taste. - Yeah, you can get 'em here cheap and bring 'em back. - Yeah, and now America is like, seven times more expensive than the UK, because our pound is like, nonexistent now. - I remember my observation. - Right, I'd love to get in focus. - Okay, I made an outsour, eating it, nothing expensive, whatever none of this matters, don't tell terrible stories. - Someone goes in their store and leaves their baby outside in their stroller, and I was like, what the fuck, they leaving their baby outside? And they're like, yeah, who's gonna take a baby? - Yeah, there is like, and from my experience, there is like no crime there. - No crime. - You just leave your infant, your baby in a stroller outside, like, we want to take it in the store. - Yeah, yeah. - It's crazy with a little sweater. - They don't do that in the, where you living out, you live in London. - London, oh my god, you joking. You wouldn't even leave the wheels for the buggy outside. (laughs) - Indian, probably, yeah. I don't know if it's like in New York. If you're cleaning your apartment, and you're like, oh, I don't need this painting, let me take it outside. Now another thing, let me go back and take it. The first thing's already gone. - I never realized that, and so we just moved house recently, and it wasn't until we had this old chest or something, and then my belt at the time was like, just leave it outside your front door. - Yeah. - It's like, it will be gone a minute. - No, but it's trash. - And I was like, we're new to the area. We don't need to be the people that like, whatever, literally within like, and this was a chunky thing. This had to have been taken in the van. - Wow. - And it was gone. Which means, what passed it? I'm basically gone home, got a van, banged it and gone. - You see the Asian ladies like stopping and looking, and if you want something on the street, you better get it, 'cause they're coming for it. - It's so mad. Yeah, Copenhagen, you could just leave. You could probably leave money. And they'll be like, it's not mine. - Yeah. - Wow, yeah, that is nice. - That's a lovely note. That's how I want to end my selling of Copenhagen. - Yeah. - Leave money on the street. - I would say, bring a warm jacket, make sure you've got a spare, two grand for dinner. - No more. - Yeah. - And there's a few other places. - Shut the fuck up. Sorry, go ahead. - And then get cycle everywhere. Go to Christiana, but also go to the palace and look at the royal family for a bit. - So they are they out there? - Yeah, there's a lovely little bit. - Yeah, all right. Well, the end of this is great. What neighborhood did you live in before in London? - I used to. - I don't wanna ask you now, neighborhood. - Oh, I've lived in, I've always lived northwest with Shepherd's bushes where I first moved, which is right next to the BBC Boulder. - How was it out there? - Yeah, it's cool, man. - Really chill. - It's your neighborhood. I look at you in New York comedy club. - Yeah. - That's great. - I was there, I'm there, get on Friday. - It's one of my favorite clubs. Like legitimately, it's like a real dingy New York comedy club. - Yeah, I just done the new one in Upper Westside as well. - Okay. - It's so fun. - Yeah, I liked it, it's just too far. - Yeah. - But I liked it. - Also, that's another New Yorker's can fuck off with that. Like they go, that's like New Jersey so far. I'm like, it is 20 minutes on the train. - Cruel. - London's so big. - London's so massive. - Then if you got the West side of the East side and you're like, oh, that's an hour 40 together. - Yeah, I was like, I walked you in 25 minutes to be like, you walked? I'm like, yeah, it's 20 minutes. What is wrong with you people? - LA is even further. - Oh my God, not LA, you can fuck off. I was so excited, not to get sidetracked, but I remember the first time we ever went on a, and I've done it earlier like twice. It was their filming and they were like, this chaperone guy that we get when you do filming stuff was like, we'll do this big now, I've got all planned. I was like, oh, amazing. So we went to this bar and we had a drink. He's like, cool, and I'm going to drive you to this like, like pubs sort of thing, as an article. So we got in a car and drove to that one. They was like, I'm going to go restaurant then and we've like got in a car and like 40 minutes in a restaurant. And I was like, this is so shit. I just want to sit in one place, just get mellowly drunk and then just walk home. I've got no interest in this. - It's an LA thing and getting in your car. I was walking to Whole Foods just to get lunch. and two different people. will stop like, "All right, you knew right?" I'm like, "No, it's 15 minutes." And they're like, "Yeah, get in the car." I'm like, "It's closer than my subway stuff." - Yeah, yeah. - It's so weird. Like, at night, the people just drinking drive an L.A., they're just not drinking. - Yeah, yeah, drinking drive, it's a drinking drive town. Uber changed it a little bit, but it was a real drinking drive town. - Yeah, 'cause I couldn't get my head-- - I'd done it plenty of times. Like I'm doing an accident drunk driving with a cab, hit a cab right in front of the comedy, the saddle ranch into the comedy store. - Yeah, I was so close to where I was going. - Yeah, I know exactly where you are. - Yeah, there's a cab stop looking for somebody. - If you're gonna have a crash, it's always as you start the journey or just before you get to where you need to be. - I need two doors down. - Yeah. - And I was trying to rush back to get back for last call to the store from, I think I was watching the stand over something, but hit a guy. Then I had to get out and exchange information and a cop slowed down to see. - Yeah. - And it was just the wrong one with my whole life being changed, but we're good, we're exchanging. And then he goes, "Okay, drove off." And I was like, "I mean, I was lit." - The guy was a guy on tier, is he sort of what were you? - No, he's taking pictures of stuff. I got, it's my fault. - No, but I mean the guy. - It's my fault for making the damages. Totally my fault. Totally my fault. - Totally my fault. - Totally my fault. - He got my insurance. Well, Ian Sterling, who else builds her name that way? - I know, it's an absolute fucking nightmare, man. Ian with two eyes is actually-- - I, A, I, N. - It's Gaelic for John. - Really? - Yeah, so I was family to John. - John. - So it's Gaelic. - And Sterling. - And he's just jokes on Instagram. - Yeah, I mean, that's one of those annoying things where that's what I made my name like 10 years ago. And I, you've done that. - You got 800,000 of ours. It would be 1.6 million if it was just Ian Sterling. - Yeah, I'd have like over a million if my name was Ian. I, and Sterling, S, T, E, R, G. - Sterling. - That is actually gotten to know, especially in this day and age of like short attention, man, how many followers I would have had. - If not for that, you're like, I don't know, make a funny joke. Make a funny joke as your title. - This one, catch on. - Yeah, it's a shit name. You're right, Ari. (laughing) - Well, guys, don't forget. Ian is a whatever you want to say about a host. I don't give a shit about that, but he's a great comic and see him whenever you fucking can. I'll put your dates, whatever's coming up once I put this episode out. - Thanks, man. - Yeah, I remember that fucking get together in Edinburgh meeting you there. - It was the pleasant storm, and we're at the little bar, but I just remember it so vividly, and I remember you saying you're taking the guys off receipt the next day, and I still remember saying to you, you should drink any whisking, it's fine, and it has bothered me. - All right, forgive it, forgive it. - You're five, six, like, honestly, I think of it. - It's like 10 years now. - I wouldn't, I don't mean like think of it a lot, but I would say every time I drink a whisky, I'd probably go. - Oh, that's one time. I'm glad you got it off your chest. - I probably thought about you more than you can ever imagine. - I don't remember that. - Well, I wouldn't surprise you. - But you were wrong. - Yeah, but why wouldn't you? Because I remember because I was just telling this American guy that I'd sort of seen on a few things and thought was cool. And I was just like, I'm an impress him with my knowledge of whisky. And my knowledge is, oh, whisky tastes the same. - It's a fucking just out of college, like, idea thing. - Oh, man, it was so, like, yeah, yeah, it was so, like, it was so like three guys started a podcast yesterday. Take. - Yeah, I'll take, all whisky tastes the same. I'm like, I love when you say something, and you're like, oh, you're actually just ignorant, and you're like, all right, there. (laughing) - It's so bad. - All right, well, thanks, buddy. Next time you come in, we'll do double next time, but this is fucking great. No one's ever done Copenhagen. What a cool town it is. - Yeah, it's really, I would like to say that, obviously, I was gonna do a double much. I know a bit about it, but if I had a bit I would have, I feel like I came in a bit shallow on the Copenhagen, but I think we got there. - No, I think we got there. We had pretty fun talking about it. - I just wish I had a few more places to actual reference and stuff. - Do you have any recommendations for Copenhagen? - No, sir. - You pretty much did it. I said, go to the theme park, what's wrong with you? - Yeah. - Oh, I almost forgot, sorry, I'm getting a little tuned up. Everybody I do with this with. What two questions? What country is calling you, and then a travel tip? A general travel tip? - What country's calling me is really easy. And I know it's been said a million times, but like Tokyo. - Tokyo, yeah. - Japan in general. - I got to get there. - Yeah, so I was gonna, when I went from a break-ups from my wife, I was gonna go and then someone was like, if you go to Japan, Tokyo's pretty intense, but if you go further out to the coast, it's all beachy and lovely, but the language is a real issue, and maybe not a place to go by yourself, especially if you're a bit like for a chill time. That's someone told me that, and I took it for red and done it, and I wish I'd just gone. - Yeah, they scare you off, sometimes. - Yeah, and I just didn't do it. And I think I ended up going to, I think I literally went to, I don't know, greasers, a real British holiday resort, or sort of thing for a week and just cleared my head. But yeah, I'd love to go, never been. - Yeah, it seems like, so I have this theory about cities. Most cities are just some bustling city, and they're all kind of the same. Little difference is, except a few. Paris is its own thing, and Tokyo is its own thing. New York probably too, but LA, Chicago, it's all in the similar, but London, it's all sort of similar. - Yeah. - Ben and Tokyo is this wild other thing. God, I wanna go, so you've never been. - Never been, never been that way. I thought it just looked amazing. - It seems like one of the cities too, where it's like a tourist town, but it's like not set up for tourism. It's like, we're all doing our thing. - Oh, no, yeah, you could join if you want. - Yeah, and also, it's like, and if you don't really fit in with the roads, like the cycling, like, you've got to do, like, be clean like us do, or do our effect, feels like, yeah, it feels like. - All the lights and everything. - Yeah, I see what you mean, it's like, Perth, it's like, such a, it's like a tourist, like, photo-taking, wet dream, but like, they don't give a fine fuck if you have a nice time. They're doing the thing. So it's like, if you go to Times Square, no local goes to Times Square. - Yeah, yeah. - But there, it's, - That looks like Times Square, but that's just a bunch of Tokyo people getting on with their day. - Yeah, exactly. - Yeah, that would be so sick. And then my, - Yeah, travel tip. - I've gotten, I need to work from pack light to put mushrooms in granola to hide 'em. To, - Well, my big thing is, I think when I go in holidays, it's save as much money on a accommodation while you're there, and put it as much into the flights. - Into the experience and getting there. - No, fuck that. I think spend as little and whole as you can, and put the more, like if you can get, I would rather get like premium economy or like business flights. - To a place? - To a place, and then stay in like a relative shittle. - Wow. - Because it's two days on your holiday. And if you flatten it so much fun flying like, - Interest. - It's a bit nicer. And then you basically buy two extra days, and then you're not dreading, going home, you're looking forward to the flight. And like a room's a room, right? - A room's a room, I agree with that. - I agree with that. - You're only going to have a holiday. - If you're doing it right, you're only there to sleep. - Yeah, exactly. So I just think spend as little as you can on the accommodation, spend as much as you can on the travel. - That's great. - To make, I want to travel like a king and then live like a local. - Oh, wow. - Live like a local makes me sound a bit like, like the farmer. - Yeah, like you're like a fetishizer. - Oh, fuck, you know what I mean, you know what I mean? - I would go like, don't spend any money on the flight, spend it all once you're there. - No, see guys, the next thing. - Now go to a nice restaurant. Be able to do everything you want there, go to scuba diving if it requires. - Yeah, that's a good show as well. See, I would just like get-- - But I like it. And when you show up, you're rested, and in a good mood, everyone else is like, you're ready to go. - And then you're ready to go. - Yeah. - Actually, now that you've explained that bit to me, I think that advice I've given is terrible, but maybe one person will take it on me. - Yeah, okay. Wait, did you say splurge on premium economy? - Yeah. - Or like, or like business, if you can slide jump to that. - No, I like how your splurge is not like fly private, or even fly first, even fly business. Your splurge was-- - You know what, go normal, but slightly above normal. - Right, you've opened the door to allow this. I say fly business and then save the money elsewhere. - Okay. - Wow. All right, edit it. Edit his other one into the fly business. - Oh, shut up. Shut up. - All right. Buddy, thank you very much. - Cheers, man. - Yeah. - Well, that's the episode, everybody. Thank you very much Ian Sterling for coming in. Check out Ian right now on season three of Love Island All Stars. He makes that show worth watching, to be honest. He's the quit master. He's got a UK quip mind. And without him, that show is just a bunch of people going to hell. And with him, it becomes actually very funny. And you could laugh at it. You know what? I need that guy for that. I need Ian Sterling for what's the show where it's pretty much people with like, not down syndrome, but like, you know, where their bodies are all fine, but their minds are a little bit like, I don't like the way you're talking to me. That show. He'd be great on that. Check out him on Instagram and Ian got jokes. I-A-I-N got jokes. I'm not good at anything. I'm not this good at anything in the world. Ian got jokes on Instagram. Check him out. Tell him that you heard it. Tell him a DM. He heard him from this podcast. And maybe he'll like you even more. He's also got a special on Amazon Prime right now, falling upwards. And he's got a hit podcast. Follow me by, by the way. I got a hit podcast on a BBC radio, actually, but you can find it on Spotify called Murder They Road. So last week, I was on this beach. And it was deserted. It was a check this out. Look at this. Look at this. Look at how good women are here at soccer. Well, that was a bad example. It was a legitimately bad example. But hold on. Watch this. Film them. I mean, that's crazy. And they're like, not unhot. They're kind of legitimately hot. And they just had, oh, OK, come this way. Yeah, we deserted last week. And this is just a weekday. This is a kind of cloudy weekday. It's not even, gratia, vibrato. Yeah, it's sick here. This might be my favorite country in the world. What was I going to tell you? Oh, Denmark, by the way, is where I've seen probably the most street dog forward thinking and kind of like, what's the word for the women? When independent women have ever seen in my life, I remember going to a bar and saying, "I buy you a drink to a chick," and she was like, "Why?" I was like, "Oh, well, in my country, what we do is, because they make equal money there." For whatever the reason is. But there's no thought even of going, "I'm just not going to work. I just don't really do it," especially in Copenhagen. I don't know the rest of Denmark, but I got a drink to go, "Why?" "Well, because in my country, we pay for things for you to let you know. I don't want to have sex with you." That's the way we do it. Just the liveliest bitch I've ever been to in my life. Tiny though, by the way. Tiny. Check out those guys. Check out those guys jumping. Wait. Somebody's about to jump. Can you see it? Oh, it looks like he's about to belly-flop on the steps. So that's it. Denmark, I will say, one of my favorite places in the world. In Europe, no offense Amsterdam, but you guys went tourists. And once you went tourists, you really can't. Nothing good will come after that. Yeah. But I will tell you, actually. I don't know. I don't know how long we recorded this pod. But I've been to Kristania probably five times. And it used to be my favorite place in the world. And what happened to that place is a goddamn shame. The things took over, kind of money took over. And it's just like not safe. It's dingy. And it's just like not the thing anymore. It was magical. When I first got there, it was a fucking magical place. And it just changed. I wanted to be that same thing, but it's just not. So it sucks. But go ahead. Find new places. I tell you do it. For myself, I'm having a blast. Well gone. Nice. What else can I say? Please subscribe wherever you're watching or listening. You'd be tripping pod on Instagram. If you tag one of those stickers. Probably nothing worse in the world than an empty coconut. And no machete. To crack it open, eat the meat. Yeah, that sucks. Today's episode is produced by your mom's house network. She's an editor by Alan Kathy. Expert editor. That's it. Next week. Fuck. I actually didn't decide. I forgot to decide. I forgot to pick next week. So I don't know. It's going to be somebody good. And I will tell you all so that we've got a great run coming. I don't know guys. Subscribe wherever you're watching or listening. And buy yourself some merch. Help me. You know, this isn't cheap out here. This is coconut cost me 10 realies. That's $2. $2. $4 total. These chairs are 10 each. That's another $2. That's another $4. That's another $4. I don't know if anybody is here. I'm hoping some fucking slut chick puts on her soccer ball and comes to join me. Hasn't happened yet. It's not goddamn shame when you do all the work to get some fucking slut soccer player to come join you. You buy another chair for 10 realies. And then nobody comes to fucking join you. Just fucking blows. Gesho. That's that's it. This has been fun. Damn. Maybe he's for him. No, he's coming out of the special. So it won't be him. I should be darker at this point. Shouldn't I? Who do we got next week? I wish I knew. Julio Galerade is coming back in either February or March. I'll tell you who's like might be Julio Galerade. Ian. Fight. Answer me. Yoshi. Sagalo. Maybe Sagalo. Eh, whatever. We'll see. Anyway, guys. Oh, he's got the regginal on it. The regginal is the best. Hey, this dude. And if you want to see anybody on, actually, I would say don't don't tell him because I won't know. I won't be on there like reading. But usually I'll say like, well, why don't you message the Instagram account? You be chipping pod. I tell them who I should get on this podcast. But actually, who am I? Who can I get? Save that thought. Save that thought until. Oh, balls. Where's my world? It is going. Yeah, I'll say that energy until I'm back in America and I can actually book somebody. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Yes. There. Oh. There. Gambio. This. Oh. Oh. No. Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it. One thing in general, a little channel tip is don't take out 150 of any currency. Well, you're in a public beach. That's known to be dangerous. I'm already shipy up until next week, everybody. Taco for listening. Oh, fuck. Don't fuck me.
