Vice President Vance described to Fox News what those final moments were like before the agreement was reached. Could you take us behind the scenes that moment was like leading up to this deal actually being signed after the Israeli struck Beirut. We were very worried and we saw a lot of evidence that the Iranians were going to launch a large number of missiles at the Israelis with our communication with them over the course of getting to this. And the reason why I'm skeptical of this deal is because quite frankly. The Israelis have no incentive to make it happen. They have no incentive to make it work. It's a 14 point plan. Which to be honest with you guys is kind of a defeat for the United States. If I'm going to be honest with you guys, let me go ahead and get it for you guys. The Middle Eastern countries, especially Saudi Arabia, will do all of their oil transactions in U.S. dollars. Why is this important? This is important because when they do all their transactions in U.S. dollars, that forces other countries that buy oil, and that's everybody, by the way, everybody's buying oil from the Middle Eastern degree. It forces all of these countries to do what? Hold U.S. dollars, okay? And when you hold U.S. dollars, that's what that does. That forces them to hold the U.S. dollars and that what that does is it increases the value of our currency because everyone needs it. It increases the demand. So, what does that do? That gives the U.S. economic power that we otherwise would not have. And here's the other thing you guys got to understand. We print money crazy, don't we? Well, the fact that we're able to print money as much as we do, something like 50% of the fucking money and circulation right now was printed in the last six years after COVID. 'Cause you guys know, we were printed money like crazy for all these stimulus checks, whatever. Almost 50% of the money is circulation right now. We was printed within the last six years after COVID. Okay? So, the reason why we enjoy so much prosperity, despite the fact that we print so much God damn money is because of two main things. Number one, the petrol dollar and number two, reserve currency status. What does reserve currency status? Quick recap for you guys. Reserve currency status basically means that every country in the world, when they do their transaction, they're doing trade, they're using U.S. dollars to pay for things. So, we're able to buy it at the Apple twice. We're able to get people to purchase things when it comes to oil, right? Oil transactions in U.S. dollars and then people are also conducting all their commodities trading, all their trades in general in U.S. dollars. Because the U.S. dollar is the most stable currency, right? There's a bunch of reasons why rule of law, strong economy, strong market, strong military, you know, swift banking system, all of these different things play into it as well, right? Which make us the economic powerhouse and give us a lot of the prosperity that we enjoy. But what you guys need to understand is, we were not able to protect a lot of the countries that are probably the petrol dollar. Also, it's important for you guys to understand that roughly two years ago, and no one talked about this in the news. Saudi Arabia did not renew the agreement that had the petrol dollar agreement within it. This went unreported in major news two years ago. Actually, two years ago to the T-O-Most, two years ago to the T-O-Most. Let me see if I can pull it up. Here you go, Yahoo Finance. Two years ago, Saudi Arabia quietly canceled the petrol dollar deal in America that wired the world, wired the world economy in 50 years, then the war broke out in Iran. So why is this bad timing? Well, I'll tell you why it's bad timing. The entire reason why Saudi Arabia did their transactions in oil, which I haven't told you guys yet, you wanna know why? It was so that we would protect them. So that we can protect them. That is why they did all their oil transactions in dollars. We would ensure that the royal family would never be toppled. We would ensure that Saudi Arabia was protected, and they would have the full support of the United States, okay? The Niggas had damn near like a NATO agreement in exchange they do all their transactions in dollars, and all the other Middle East countries kind of followed suit. Beat why because Saudi Arabia for those that don't know in the Muslim faith, Saudi Arabia is an extremely influential country in the Islamic faith, because you have holy cities like Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, et cetera. As a matter of fact, Muslims have to go to Mecca once in a lifetime as one of the five pillars of Islam. Pilgrimage, Hajj is what it's called. So Saudi Arabia has an enormous amount of both political and religious geopolitical influence in the region. So when Saudi Arabia joined the initiated this informal petro dollar deal, okay? Doing their transactions in dollars, guess what everybody else did? Everyone else followed suit. And then all these other Gulf countries were able to acquire U.S. protection alongside Saudi Arabia. See where I'm going with this? So now how does it look? You attack Iran, and instead of Iran attacking the United States back, where they kind of did, they attack who? The Gulf states. They blow up all our military base in the region, and then also attack hotels with a suspect CIA, Mossad, and other intelligence operatives are staying once they got bombed out of these fucking military bases. See why this is so fucking bad for us? See why this makes this look bad? So again, they're not telling you guys the full story when it comes to this stuff. Yeah, we cook and are what? Ultimately, U.S. forces will stay in Bahrain where the U.S. Navy's fifth fleet is based. And also, you have a situation where there are other locations, including the Al-Odide base in Qatar, where thousands of U.S. forces will remain. So the president maintains the ability to use military force if the Iranians step back from the agreement, but also worked out within this deal is leverage on the regime. They're not going to get sanctions relief unless they adhere to their end of the deal. And that means keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for the free flow. So what does this stupid nega say? Look at us. The president is going to submit into these talks with the United States in theory was the Iranian military desits hardliners in the IRGC that want to continue the war against the United States. And it's important to remember here. Not only during Operation Epic Fury was the Iranian military decimated those production lines. That's a fucking lie. Because what does this say here? 50 to 50 missile launchers early early April, 2026. And then 70% missile stockpile mobile launchers early mid May, 2026. But when it comes to day-to-day shit, economy, whatever, that's the president. So they took to the streets complaining and protesting, okay? Now, it's very important that you guys understand that while they were protesting, they were Assad and CIA operatives embedded within the protestors that were armed with guns, a Molotov cocktails and other weapons to initiate a war essentially, okay? Like a panemonium. And what these individuals did was they shot up police officers, they shot up firefighters, they shot up paramedics, okay? And one that happening was there was like damn near civil war in the country. The Iranians knowing that something was up, they shot the internet off. When they shot the internet off, the Mossad operatives, right? And these other hostile intelligence service members weren't able to communicate in the writing subsided. But then when that happening was, they tried to smuggle in a bunch of star links to Iran so that these individuals can continue to communicate. This is why Iran has made star links illegal. And anyone that got caught went one was basically arrested, okay? So not only did they do that, but they also tried to smuggle weapons in to Iran for the protestors, okay? And then there were instructions to be given by Mossad operatives to protestors to attack and kill and create as much damage as possible and take your country back. Now what Trump and Netanyahu hoped would happen was there would be a panemonium in the streets, then with the panemonium in the streets, And the currency crashing, then they could do their air strikes, kill Ali Kameni, kill top leadership of the government, there'd be too much pandemonium in the country and they would not be able to close the straight of a moose. That was the original plan. Crash the money, create protests, have provocateurs in there from intelligence services, arm them with weapons, arm them with star links, tell them to destroy as much as they can cause the much death and destruction, then it would be basically followed up with Donald Trump and the Israelis attacking Iran, getting rid of the leadership, and then this hopefully would have created an enormous, you know, catastrophe in the country where the government would not be able to regain control. They number one, Iran stopped the provocateurs before they could get really bad. That's number one. By shutting off the internet and arresting and executing all the, the spies. Next, the gun shipment and the star links, a lot of them got caught by customs. Next, when they went ahead and they just killed the Supreme Leader and his top officials, but they didn't know was that the Supreme Leader from the six day war because Iran lost learned a lot from their failure in the six day war earlier, right? They started hitting strategic locations all across the Middle East. So that's not the chain of events. And that's what ended up happening. Why it failed? Trump thought with the pandemonium and killing the leadership, they would not have the ability to close the shredder of mousse. So we'll have to see how that plays out. But largely across the world, countries are applauding this deal are happy to see it go through happy to see some kind of progress here and countries around the world and American drivers here at home waiting to see what happens in the straight-of-war moves that will hopefully drive down the price of oil and therefore drive down the price of gas that we are all paying across the country. And step speaking of countries around the world, the president on his way to France for the latest G7 meeting. What might he be heading into? About the election, it's happening in a few months time. And that, of course, is turbocharging the domestic politics and political discussion in Israel, even as all of this is happening. And all the candidates, whether it's Naftali Bennett or others who are running in this election, they are using this moment to carve out their political space. How do you think the elections and the campaign is impacting what's happening now in the decision-making in Israel? Well, look, one has to remember that while and I'm as guilty of it as anyone else, we focus on the person of Prime Minister Netanyahu. This goes, and when I say this, I mean this tendency towards only seeing things through militaristic solutions towards wanting to project this greater Israel, the tendency not only to dehumanize in rhetoric, but to actively see to remove the Palestinians from the equation. All of this, which led to a consensus around the kind of genocidal war crimes that we saw in Gaza, all of this has become the stuff of consensus in Israeli politics. So what people might not be aware of is that the Israeli opposition is so called on the Zionist opposition side, are kind of overtaking Netanyahu from the hawkish right in how they're saying, why didn't you bomb Beirut? Why haven't you gone harder after Iran and things like this? So this is playing into an already febrile election environment, which in which there is not really space for saying, hey, what about some realistic, pragmatic, diplomatic leaning, non-militarist solutions? Netanyahu will look at this and say, well, you know what, if all of them are trying to be versions of me, maybe I've still got a way of pulling this off. So the Israeli political dynamic is not creating space for other kinds of options. There is a consensus also amongst the commentary app that you've seen in the last hours and days, that the kind of deal that is taking shape is anything on the spectrum from very underwhelming to catastrophic for Israel. And you can understand why they're saying that because Iran comes out of this, not only standing on its feet, but with more leverage. The rest of the region looks and they say, yeah, Israel can pull things off. But Israel is a destabilizing actor that is even managing to upset it's one standing important key ally in the US. The region is also saying the US really didn't do us too many favors. So maybe we're going to have to hedge, diversify and even ourselves come together to contain not only Iran, but also Israel. And if the seat that will Israel hope to send in the last two and a half years and in the last two and a half months was resistance is futile, well, that seems to have boomeranged because the message seems to be the resistance is actually rather effective. US markets have reacted positively to the news of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran. Wall Street's main indexes rose on opening and the price of Brent Crude fell to its low. And Trump obviously wants the markets to stabilize. This level since March, well, we have Kristen Salumi joining it live from the New York Stock Exchange. Following this, we'll get to the markets in a moment. But maybe let's let's start upstream from the markets is the price of oil, right? It rose sharply during this conflict. Where is it now? It has come down somewhat. But where is it now as we speak? And how long before America? We won't be good until it's back to like 60/70 man. That's when we're really back to normal times. Even $80 guys too much. Americans feel the impact of that. Yes, well, as you said, crude oil prices are lower. Brent Crude now below $80 a barrel. That's a significant decline from what we've seen recently. But typically, it takes a few days before crude prices translate into lower prices at the pump for consumers. But we are seeing those prices begin to lower as well. And there's been a trend of this over the last three weeks. But right now, we're seeing in the United States the national average of $4.07 a gallon. That's about $1.08 a liter, according to the AAA Motor Club. So prices are coming down. But there's still about 37% higher than they were before the conflict started with Iran. So things are heading in the right direction. But experts are also warning that even if the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz continues as predicted or as agreed to between Iran and the United States, if that holds, it still could take about two months to clear out the backlog of ships there since there's about 600 ships still in the strait. And Kristen, markets in Asia were up quite significantly for some of them this morning on the news that there was going to be a deal. Because they get hit with, they get hit the worst by the oil. The oil between Iran and the US. What are you seeing? Yeah, well, I'm seeing markets up across the board here as well. The Dow Jones up more than a percent. Yeah, crypto's going up right now. So I'm looking at crypto as well. S&P as well, Nasdaq up about 2.7%. But this is continuing a positive trend that we. Guys, and also look, we got the OSS report here, man. So the markets are having a very good optimistic day. But we've also seen US markets be very resilient to the conflict in the Middle East. They've been pricing in and into this war for a while now. So that optimism seems to be continuing in light of the news from President Trump and Iranian officials as well. I'm Al Jazeera's Christian Salumi reporting from the New York Stock Exchange. During the war, in blue, once hit by the US in Israel and in green, the ones hit by Iranian forces. So not only could energy not get out of the strait, the amount being produced also took a major hit. And this has affected prices. And this here, that is the US around war. If we look at the prices just over the last year, so this section here, you can see the peaks and troughs of the conflict. This is when the strikes began. This is when there was a ceasefire in April. You can see prices jump back up when strikes were zoomed. And this right here is where we are now. Hope for a long-lasting ceasefire. If there are more issues with the talks, we could see them spike up once again. And it's not just fuel. 46% of the world's global urea supply comes from the Gulf, crucial for fertilizer production. Once the war began, you can see the daily volume of fertilizer-related shipments out of the strait virtually stopped. Without fertilizer to grow food or fuel for agriculture or equipment, regions across East and Southern Africa, all the way down here and in South East Asia were affected. Let's take a look at one example in Myanmar. It's a country with about 50 million people. It imports 90% of its fuel oil and up to 95% of its chemical fertilizers. Most of it comes from the Gulf. By the end of May, 50 kilogram bags of fertilizer were five times more expensive, worsening the country's cost of living crisis and pushing farmers out of the industry. The negotiations between the US and Iran aren't just words on a piece of paper. They're signals which make economic waves across the globe and if talks fail, hundreds of millions will pay the price. - Well, joining us now to discuss this, Charlie Robertson, the chief economic advisor. - I think the bigger move hasn't been equities or effects has been bonds. It's been bonds where people have been pricing in big rate hikes for South Africa a week ago. We were looking for three rate hikes this year and now the market's pricing in one. Other countries like Egypt and Nigeria, people were expecting hundreds of basis points of rate cuts this year that it all got written off because of higher oil prices. So what we're seeing is a massive repricing of bonds and expectations of interest rates. And that's really, really important. Not just for later this year, but going into next year too. - But walk us through what that means. For international viewers around the world, what does that actually mean? So there was an expectation that central banks and countries around the world were going to increase their interest rates. And now you're saying that's probably not going to happen or not to the extent that was expected. What's the impact going to be for people who live, say, in Africa, in Asia, in Europe? - So February, it was bullish story, pre-Humours Closure. And we're going to get rate cuts. We're going to get investment pouring into lower income countries. There's been this shift of appetite for emerging markets and for frontier markets. The interest burden on governments was going to be higher. That would have meant higher taxes for people. And at the same time as they were facing the prospect of higher taxes, higher interest rates, but they were also facing higher fuel prices.
