Danny, Bec And His DMs To Other Girls (An Investigation)

Hello and welcome back to the MathsWony podcast with me, Joshua Fox, and in this episode guys, I'm going to be doing a deep dive into Danny who has mostly come out on top so far. Viewers have dubbed him the ultimate gentleman, mostly thanks to his British charm and collection of flat caps, but I feel like the tide is now slowly starting to turn. And I've got a few things to share, and I've also got a few DMs that he's been sending to female fans of the show to read out, which to me at least paints a different picture to the bloke who we've been watching on TV for two months now. Okay, so you may recall in a recent episode of this podcast, I started to question if Danny and Beck are still together because in a recent TikTok live, Beck so casually suggested they were by saying this to Joel and Athena from last season. Guys, I love you, but I've got to go. Danny's waiting for a guy. She's going back to him. The Jenna. Jenna called up. Now, of course, we all know that the cast must pretend until their final scenes are on TV, but the way Beck said this so casually. And she said it while going rogue on a TikTok live showing she clearly is no longer following the rules. Like it really did get me wondering, will are they still together? And did Danny finally realize he was in love despite dodging that question like a dodgy politician throughout the entire of the season? Well, I now have an answer to that with proof and it's no, they're not together. And I will get to that in a moment, but before we get to the present day, let's just recap things because I've personally been sus on Danny since day one. Actually, since before day one, like since back in August during filming, and this season, I keep referencing that infamous bonnet night out that I say changed everything. And that's cause for me at least it did change everything. And it kind of gave me a first impression of most of these people that has been proved right at time and time again. And that night, which was the first time I probably spoke to Danny. And also the last time I spoke to him, I left that evening thinking this bloke is a flop and he's going to be hated by viewers. So then when he was eventually introduced to us at the start of the season like this, you can imagine my surprise. Definitely describe myself as chairman if I take a woman out and I'll always pay open doors, always be respectful to women. You know, that's just how I was raised and that's how you should be. Because that night in Bondi, my honest impression of Danny was he was arrogant. He was fame hungry and he was a bit of a dickhead. And Danny, if you're listening, sorry if you don't agree with that. But that's what I thought. And I'm sure you'd say your impression of me was what I'm annoying or I'm fake or whatever Chris and G or shouting at me as you all left in those taxis. But you know, this is life, isn't it? None of us control what other sphincavus and now you guys will recall how I've spoken a lot about during that evening as I arrived that Chris was like instantly just saying how if I was at his wedding, he would have bashed me and then he went on to make like frets about things that he may do to me in the future, which I took to the police and reported to production. Now that to me was Chris like trying to assert some toxic male dominance over me, especially given how all the cast like at the start of filming then made aware of me and my reach and I suppose the power I content can have in like dictating how the public may perceive them and that's not me bragging. That's just the fact like remember at the start of every season the cast they were all literally warned. Never speak to Josh as channel nine. Just see me as this like unpredictable force. They have no leverage over and they can't control what I say or do compared to like all the other media, the more mainstream media outlets who they have commercial partnerships with and little deals with where they kind of use that as leverage in a I always say you scratch my back, I scratch yours. But for me, no backs to getting scratched. I am an island on my own doing my own thing and yes, that night. So as I arrived here, Chris, he chose violence and Danny took a very different approach to me and within minutes of probably meeting, he quizzed me about how much money I made. He told me about how much money he makes. He was a multi millionaire which he made clear to me several times, not that I asked once. And he also told me about how much money he sends home to his family in the UK and he puts money aside, I think for his niece every month. And he was telling me all this in my opinion to us some kind of power over me like I took that as he wanted to tell me that he was better than me and also that he's a good person because look at how he helps so many people with his money. And Danny's wealth is something he often references on the show, usually very subtly, but in ways it proves to me at least what I thought that night, that he genuinely believes that money makes him superior. I'm not a mind reader, if I was a bit of billionaire, just a millionaire. Do you know what you mean? Now that night in Bondi, Danny also told me and I've never forgot this because it made me cringe so hard inside when he said it. He said how I was and I quote, the most famous person in that bar that night as I had like X amount of followers already and all of them at that point didn't really have any. But Danny then made it known to me how many followers he's best made will, you know, the Channing Titan stripper guy who is the best made the wedding has compared to how many followers I had and then he told me how much money will he's making as an influencer stripper person. And as Danny told me this after already making it known, like how much more money he makes than me, I took that as him going like, look Josh, you may have the power right now because you've got like more followers than me, but I win because I'm richer than you and in a few months, I'll have more followers and a bigger audience because I'm going to be on TV and also my mate Will has more followers than you right now. And like as if any of that actually means anything that I give, but I say I cringe like I genuinely did because to me that is just so embarrassing. Like firstly, what do you first meet someone? Why would you ever talk about how much you make who makes more, how much you give your family back home who's got followers like it means nothing. And I want to point out quickly also that to me, I'm not famous in the slightest. I have no desire to ever be called famous or celebrity or anything like that. And followers means nothing and bears no reflection of who I am as a person and the amount of followers someone has or the money in their bank, it doesn't make them better than someone else. And often as proven so often that usually when people have money and followers, they're actually just not very great people. I don't know. For me, my passion in life is creating content and storytelling and just making things for people to enjoy. Like that brings me joy. And I'm looking at over time the projects have done the things I've built has led to like a small audience that has gradually grown over the year being there who enjoy what I do. But like followers aren't something I've ever actively gone out there chasing or carrying about because honestly, it just means nothing. And if you believe like your amount of followers does mean something that makes you better than other people then mate, you just need to go get some perspective. Anyway, back on topic. If you're thinking, well, how is all of this relevant to Danny Beck and what's happening in present day? It is trust me because like this wider context to me, it kind of shows Danny's real character verse, TV character and like, and just the sides of his personality that we haven't necessarily seen much of on screen. And if you're also wondering, well, why was Danny so dominant to me as we probably met for the first time that night? It's because he felt I'd publicly embarrassed him days earlier because I'm laughing because this is so stupid. But as the cast all moved in together earlier that week back in August last year and I was outside as they were filming moving in, you know, just doing my TikToks and usual stuff like saying, how's it going? Good luck, blah, blah. I spoke to Danny and Beck as they walked to Woolworths and then I stood there and narrated this big milestone moment for their relationship as they did their first big food shop together. Hey guys, welcome to the last 20 podcasts. How are we doing? He's Danny, is it? Confirm the name? I don't have a name. You don't have a name. We're going shopping? What we have to? Have you done a big shop together as a couple? No. Okay. Shouldn't he be buying the flowers for you? Oh, are you picking them? They've got a special offer on. You got the cheap ones. There we go. Young love. Hope. Now that joke there, me mentioning how Beck picked up a bunch of flowers where we reduced stick around is something I forgot all about as it was so forgetful to me. Like it meant nothing. I was literally just commentating what I was watching them do as I do with most of my content when the cast can't speak to me. So like all you can do is say what they're doing, give that makes sense, otherwise there's no content. There's nothing to it. But yeah, but to Danny, he took that moment as me suggesting as a man to another man that he couldn't afford a full price bunch of supermarket flowers for his wife. And he also took that as me attempting to humiliate him by highlighting the, what, the few dollar difference between the various floral offerings of warf's, which was not the case in the slightest as I said I forgot all about that comment until Danny brought it up that night and Bondi and asked me, "Man to man, why would I do that?" And as I apologize and said, it meant nothing. There was no bad intention that I was just commentating what I was watching. He would not let it drop and he kept bringing it up over and over to the point that other people at the table had to be like, "Danny, let it go." He didn't mean anything by it and they were saying they've seen my content before and they know it's just meant to be silly. And there's no bad intention that what makes you seem like you can't afford some full price flowers from, I get up laughing because this is so stupid. But yeah, to Danny, he took that comment from me and that, and that clip, by the way, I think was a four second thing in like a two minute video of all the couples moving in that day, which I posted in August. It wasn't like a, "Haha, look at this money." He can't afford flowers. It was like a silly montage of his someone going to the water shop. His this person doing that. His these two in Woolworth's like, yeah, but yeah, to Danny, he took that so personal as to him, it hit him where it hurt most, which is his ego. And to him again, it questioned the thing that, I believe, means most of him, which is his wealth. And as the paparazzi drama then happened that night as all the cast left, which I won't go into, because you all know, you may have read in the media at the time how Danny threatened to smash the paparazzi outside's camera, which was reported on at the time when that photographer gave some quotes about like what Danny said to him, which yeah, to me, that just again says a lot about maybe Danny's personality. So yes, my impression of Danny after that night and as the show started to air was this guy, he's arrogant. He's there for followers like he's best mate Will and he's just a bit of a dare I say again, dickhead. So yes, imagine my surprise, last month as we were then introduced to him at the start of the season, like this. You know, he's seen him all couples in the pub and they've been together for 50 years and they're sitting there just taking a piss out of each other. That's the kind of thing I want. I want a relationship like 1 a.m. Clyde. She was right or die. Well, she was breaking him out of prison, right? A lot of that obsession was somewhat and that's what I'm looking for. Now Danny, as I've just said, was far from the perfect gentleman he was being presented as when I met him that evening in one day. But that's not to say he doesn't have that side of him because as I say a lot on this podcast like maths, it doesn't like the customer must be multifaceted. They need them to just be one thing and like one dimensional and it was clear from the start that they wanted Danny to be given this like cheeky, choppy voice of reason kind of character. With the occasional drama, don't get me wrong like the whole GF thing did he say she was more his type, but that was less about Danny to be honest and it was more a storyline to feed into Beck's insecurities and escalate her feud with Gia. And the whole cheeky, choppy voice of reason character, that made sense very quickly to me as a show star at Airing because it became clear how hectic and often unhinged Beck is. So they kind of needed him to be seen as this calm and collected voice of reason against her constant drama that she brings pretty much every episode if that makes sense. But the problem with that is that there's only so long the show can suppress like over parts of someone's personality while presenting them as like a one no character. And Danny's mask of like humble, self-made man looking for his right or die has slipped off occasionally lately. We've comments like this. I started checking birds when I was 14. I'm now 34, 20 years. I've never been stood up once. Yeah, I want to be a father, you know what you mean? Maybe because I've just been called daddy for years, like. You're pissing me off. You're absolutely pissing me off. And it's also slipped off in live radio interviews where Danny can come across just a bit arrogant, to be honest. The moment where Beck drops the L-bomb and tells you that she loves you, what exactly was going through your head in that moment? I was a bit shocked to be honest, but well, I wasn't that shocked because of this need, you know what I mean? No, okay, Danny. And we're now at a place on the show as he constantly still dodges questions about his feelings for Beck, like a shady politician, like saying one thing here, there's another thing there, like where. It's clear that he's just stringing back along to the point that even the experts are now like, "My, come on." These couch sessions are not just for Beck, you signed up to the experiment on your own, saying that you wanted to break some patterns. So this is the chance for you to do that, and that's your part where you have to rise to the occasion and choose to do that with enthusiasm. And I do agree with Danny though, about how he shouldn't give someone false hope by faking it and pretending to have feeling stronger than he is, like he shouldn't have lied if he's not in love, but the thing is, I don't think Danny has any feelings for Beck, and I don't think he has ever had any feelings for Beck, as made clear from his brutal honesty the morning they woke up together for the first time on the honeymoon. With sexual chemistry, it's over there or it's not. Sort of just. It's not there. And I'm just concerned that there's not a nurse chemistry between me and Beck for it to be that, to be honest. Now, there's no denying that Beck is insecure and just desperate for any validation from Danny and just desperate for it to work and desperate for him to love her. That now just feels that we're at a point where him continue to string her along when it's clear he feels nothing. He's just coming across as maybe a little cruel. And when I ask myself, like, why is Danny doing this? Why is he even still pretending he could still develop feelings for Beck after these moments of feeling nothing? I just keep thinking back to that one night night and all he was saying about followers and fame and how much he's best made will makes as an influencer. Because to me now, that feels like the only reason he is still there after two months convincing himself he could still feel something for this moment and he's yet to feel anything for. Let's be honest. This isn't me excusing the shit Beck does on the show or her behavior or saying let's all feel sorry for her or anything like that. Like she's brought on most things herself. But Beck's kind of bad behavior is another interesting point as it's constantly pushed Danny further and further away from her and also made like any minor feelings he may have briefly had at one point just fizzle out to nothing. Once again, leaving goes question like, "Why are you still here even trying when it's clear?" She's like fully fallen for you and is in deep love and you feel nothing. Even like when we look back over the season and remember all the grand gestures from Danny that we've seen which led to Beck falling as fast as she did, they were actually nothing and they actually all feel kind of performative now. Like remember the photo ranking challenge when Danny decided he couldn't possibly rank the other women and do that to Beck and he just threw the pictures off the balcony. Right, so what one does and will put you down here first? All these women? They're actually not going to rank none of them because they're going out the balcony. Do you know what? I'm in a bit of a mysterious mood today. Was that too reassure, Beck, who we know is deeply insecure? Or was it more just for a viral moment and to do something for the cameras that no one has ever done on this show before because that's kind of what it now feels like it felt like all rather than having to actually do this task and make it clear that he doesn't really fancy Beck or have feelings for her. Let's do something to distract it. Let's do something big and exciting. Let's throw these pictures out the window and then think most recently what Beck was doubting things or whatever. So then she goes out and she arrives home to all those posted notes all over the apartment and from a distance, you'd be like, wow, like that's so sweet. Like, you're so cute. She's obviously been upset because I didn't take the box-task series. But a lot, I didn't really know how to react. Talking about my feelings is so, so hard for me. So there we go. Bye. Look how many cute things he's wrote about her and all these favorite things. But then as the camera zoomed in on each little message, they weren't even that sweet or personal and it felt like chat GPT had wrote them. Like, what did he say? "I appreciate you. Your beautiful inside and out. You enjoy a glass of red. I adore your personal." Like, it's like a stranger right into one of a stranger, not a couple who have now spent two months living together every day. So now back to present day as Beck is keeping up appearances by suggesting they're still together. -Danny's waiting for me. -Danny's waiting for her guys. -The Jenna Conda. -Danny Conda. At the same time, we've also got Danny on his burner Instagram account, which as you all probably know by now, like all the cast have second Instagram accounts. Burners, which they're using to talk to media, to post present day stuff and also, in Danny's case, they're using to chat with female fans of the show and send the messages saying things like this. We can hang out on my hotel, but I know that sounds sleazy as fuck, laughing emoji, while saying like he can't meet girls in public right now. right now because he can't risk being spotted. And then he also said to one girl, oh, if it's dark, we can go out and about somewhere very quiet, but I've got to be careful another laughing emoji. And then he says, I could wear a hat like so he's recognized if you meet up with these girls and then another laughing emoji. I was sent screenshots of those messages there from a girl whose friend met Danny for like a booty call a few days ago. And then after my recent podcast, asking if anyone had any intel on Danny and Beck present day, I received another message from someone going, oh my god, he sent my friend a shirtless picture and asked for one back, ha ha, after this girl had responded to Danny's story on his burner, Insta. And then another girl message me saying, hey Josh, he's been seeing a lady, Trady in Melbourne, I believe, and going on double dates with her and Philip and Stella and it's the talk of the job site. Now I do just want to point out there, like there's nothing wrong with those messages or Danny meeting up with people for a shag, which is something he's been doing for 20 years now, remember to much success. I'm now 34, 20 years, I've never been stood up once. Like Danny is a single man after all right now and he's also now going to be getting a lot of female attention and it's going to be easier than ever for him to just get quick casual sex. But it makes you wonder though, is he really still looking for his ride or die? I want enough for my parents. I want my ride or die. Or is Danny more interested in a lifestyle like his influencer best mate, Will, who let's not forget, did briefly derail his entire wedding to back with this admission? You, you slept with my friend the other night. (crowd cheering) I didn't recognize the bride, so that's what it matters. Oh my God. I'd heard you didn't bring her after, so. (crowd cheering) She's been trying to stitch me up a little bit. Anyway, yeah, what was the point of this episode? Yeah, not entirely sure to be honest, but let's quickly recap. So, I, Danny and Beck still together, definitely not. Why is Beck still pretending that they are? I would say that's less about like following the rules from Channel 9 to keep pretending and more about her wanting to maybe briefly minimize her embarrassment as she watches the show back with the rest of the country and sees now how Danny never really felt anything for her. So, even if she can temporarily have people believe that, Will, it all worked out in the end and that together now, like maybe that makes her feel a bit better. And lastly, are people as they see him on TV? Will, no, because remember, we only see a snippet of their entire personality as producers pick and choose the character they want them to be and then they work their magic in the edit to remove anything that goes against that narrative. So, yeah, in Danny's sake, I suppose, is he the cheeky chap he looking for? Is Rida, Dye, and the perfect gentleman we see him as onscreen? Yeah, he probably is sometimes, and that's probably part of who he is. But is he also someone who's after a bit of clout and followers and attention and like one night stands? Yes, definitely. See ya.
