Creating The Vision of The Woman You Really Want to Be as a Woman over 40.
38m 16s
This podcast episode focuses on helping women over 40 create a vision of the person they truly want to become. The host notes that many clients in this age group feel their lives are good but lack excitement, motivation, or a sense of progression, often due to shifting family roles or a loss of purpose. She emphasizes that everything created in life first exists in the imagination, so envisioning your ideal self is a critical first step. Drawing from personal experience, including a recent year focused on "surrender and allow" after her father's passing, she explains how creating space through self-reflection allowed her to grow and align with her higher self. The host offers three key tips: First, practice self-reflection to uncover patterns and stories that shape your current reality, then visualize the life you desire to generate feelings and clarity. Second, develop positive self-talk and affirmations based on that vision to replace limiting beliefs and elevate your self-image. She argues that by consistently reinforcing empowering messages, negative thoughts are crowded out, leading to transformative opportunities and abundance. The underlying message is that feeling something is missing often stems from losing sight of your future self, and by intentionally creating that vision and becoming that person, you can unlock a more fulfilled life.
Hello everybody, welcome to the podcast this week. I'm so glad you're here. Today, we are going to talk about creating a vision of the person that you really want to be, a guide for women over 40. So I would like to talk to you specifically if you're a woman over 40 because I hear from my clients. Most of them are over 40, some of them are right about 40. But what I hear the most is that they want to raise their vibration. That's what they tell me they want to raise their vibration because they feel like they could be living a more fulfilled life. They feel like they have a good life, but they're not super excited about things or they don't really have some goal or something to work for, or they have things that they want to work for, but they just can't get themselves to do it. They want to create more in their life, but they just don't know how or don't have the motivation or don't believe they can do it. And a lot of people, a lot of my clients don't really think that they're worthy to even want something more than what they have because they feel like that means that their life isn't good or that if they were to tell someone that they wanted to be a better person or they want to be better than who they are, that people will judge them for not loving their life, that they might be ungrateful for the life that they have. There's a lot of us women that are in this over 40 stage of life that feel like we are coming either out of the little kid phase, like we don't have little kids anymore at home, but we still have kids at home, but they're more independent and they don't need us on the same level or in the same capacity as our toddler kids needed us. They still need us. I feel like my kids as young adults need me more than my little kids needed me than when they were little. It's just in a different way. I feel like they need my emotional energy. They need my presence more than they need a lecture or someone to talk to or those kinds of things, even though I do think that they do need someone to talk to and they do talk to me. I think it's just a little bit different, especially for me and my situation and where my kids are, but I do have several plants that have older kids, most of them maybe are even out of the house and they're finding themselves like what do I do now? I was a mom and there was a plan and there was a list of things to do and every day I would wake up and just have a whole bunch of things to do. And now I don't really have as many things to do, but I feel like I'm busy all the time, but then I don't really see that I'm creating anything. My life just feels the same so it's not necessarily stagnant or bad, but they don't feel like their life is progressing. And I can relate, I can see how people would feel this way. My personality is go, go, go. I always have something I'm doing. I love to create things. I love to be involved in things. I used to think that I just liked to be busy, just to be busy, which I do think I do like to be busy, but I think I just like to be involved and I don't like to be bored. I like to be creating things. I like to be doing things. I like to be reaching for something. I like to, I'm really into personal development and growing my capacity of emotional well-being and creating more awareness around my mindset and what I think. And asking myself to grow in knowledge and experiences and emotional capacity. I feel like I have a bigger capacity to handle bigger emotions than I used to, probably because I have gone through some things that have brought on big, big, intense emotions and I've had to figure out how to navigate through those emotions. And I am a happy person just in general and I think that I enjoy being happy. I like being happy and I don't like being upset or sad or angry. I don't like the way that feels. And so I'm always wanting to understand my emotions so that I can choose the emotions I want to have. So creating a vision of the person that you really want to be is a really important and interesting concept to have because you can't have something that you don't create a vision for first. You have to create it in your mind before you can create it in reality, in real life. Because everything that is created happens in someone's imagination first. So if you can imagine it, if it is something that is in your mind that you have imagined or that you've dreamed about or that you've wanted or wished for, then it is possible for you to have. Now a couple of years ago when I first was introduced to personal development, I heard this concept that if you can dream it, you can create it. And I thought, how do you do that? That's kind of a cool thought. That's kind of a cool thing to maybe have. Is that really true and how does that work? So over the years as I've become a life coach and I've done my own work on my own self and I'm trying to be very aware of what goes on in my brain and how I show up in the world and how that works. And of course being trained as a life coach, now I have actual tools that teach me how to do that and I help my clients do that. And one of the mentors that I've had for a few years said something in one of the podcasts that she does her podcast episode that and she said, the sooner that you figure out the person that you want to become and become that person, the more money you'll make and the bigger life you'll have and the better relationships that you'll have, the better life in general that you will have. Then you figure out the person that you want to become and then become that person. The better your life will be in all of the areas, but pick the one that you're struggling with the most right now, the better that your life will be in that area, the sooner you figure out who you want to become and become that person. So as I've been doing this work myself over the last several weeks, specifically this year, I did a podcast on the word of the year and this year, I never, I never like search for the word that I want to embody or that I want to take with me through the year. I never like, oh, I wonder what my word's going to be this year. Let's go. Let's go, you know, try to find it or search for it. That's never what happens for me. Every year, I'm not sure if I'm going to get a word of the year. I just kind of go with it. And the last couple of years, it has just come to me. It call it intuition, call it revelation, whatever you want to call it. I feel like I am pretty connected to my Heavenly Father and I feel like that's him helping me to see and focus on what is going to be my work or my blessings or whatever it is that year. So last year, my word was brave and I did a lot of things that were brave last year. There was a lot of things that happened in our family that required me to be brave. And that was. There was some really awesome experiences and some really bad crappy experiences that came to me last year and I was able to be brave. When those things came up, I had a thought in my head quite often that said something like it's time to be brave. So I did that last year. And I didn't go searching for the word to be brave. It just came. And this year, the same was true. I was just grieving the loss of my dad and I was just allowing myself to have the experience that I was having. And if I woke up sad, I just said today is going to be a day that I am going to feel sad. And if I felt grief and loss, then I just said today is a day that I'm going to feel grief and loss. And as I did that, I just kind of slowed down my life and was still a lot. I took a lot of naps. I sat on the couch a lot. I just was here. I didn't like accomplish a lot by what you would see from the outside. But I felt like I accomplished a lot in my heart, in my mind, in my body, in my soul, in my spirit. And as I was doing those things and as those things were happening, the words surrender and allow just came at a time when I just felt like it was my Heavenly Father speaking to me. Just surrender your will, what you want to have happen in the way that you want to have that happen and allow my will to come in. And I've been really creating a lot of space, space in my mind, space in my heart, space in my schedule, space, just space. Because if you want to grow and expand, you have to have space to grow and expand. And so I want to grow and expand in lots of areas of my life. And so I needed to create space. So that was another thing that I worked on last year was creating space, creating space in my mind, creating space in my calendar, creating space in my schedule, just creating space. And as I created space, as I looked for ways I could create space, I was able to find some things and some patterns in my life that I wanted to change to create this space. And by creating space, I feel like I was able to hear the words surrender and allow from my Heavenly Father. And then also hear what that meant. And so it was kind of like a download that came from heaven. And I wrote down a whole bunch of ideas and things that came to me as I'm going to surrender, surrender on certain things I need to surrender and not hold so tight to. And then also some things that I would like to allow. But I would like to be open to receive and open to allow. And so as I have been doing this since the beginning of the year, we are, it is the 28th, I think, of March or I mean of February. It's the 28th of February as I record this podcast episode. And so as the last two months that I've been surrendering and allowing this creating a vision of who I want to be and figuring out who that is and then becoming her has brought me the most beautiful experiences just in the last eight weeks and just really beautiful experiences. And so I wanted to record this podcast to give you kind of some insight into what has been happening in my life and what I've been creating. And then also how you can do it for yourself. So that's what I want to talk about today. And I have three points like three little topics or tips or whatever you want to call it for you to think about as you prepare yourself to cast a vision or create a vision or try to figure out who the person is that you want to be. Maybe you already know and maybe you're on this journey too. And you are creating that person. Great. Hopefully these three things will will align with what you're already doing and give you some ideas. But mostly I hope that it energizes you to keep going. And if you aren't on the journey yet and think that maybe you might want to be and maybe after this podcast episode you're with me, I hope that that's what what you also get is encouragement to create the life that you have in your mind. And maybe you just feel like you're missing something. Something's missing. If that's how you feel, the thing I believe that's missing is a vision of your future. And creating the person that you are meant to be. If you feel like something's missing, that's what it is. I believe that when we feel like something's missing, we have lost the vision of who we are meant to be and we're no longer striving and working and growing into that person. And our souls, our spirits need that. They need to feel growth. So the first thing that I want you to think about and the first thing that you need to do when you are trying to figure out the person that you want to be and the first thing that you do on a daily basis as you are becoming that person as you're on this journey to becoming that person is self reflection. So self reflection and self awareness are like the secret to the universe. If you can create the skill of reflecting on yourself and being self aware, the parts of your life that change are going to blow your mind. Like it is, it is a really cool thing to be a skilled at. So self reflection is an inner exploration. It's an a look inside of yourself inside your mind inside what you think inside what you believe inside the stories and the patterns that you have inside your routines. What are your routines? What where is the part of your life that you want to up level and what are the routines that you have and the stories that you have about that theme? What are the patterns about that thing? So let's take, let's say you want to make more money. Okay? Just off the top of my head, let's say you want to make more money. Let's say you are in this mid, mid life and you just kind of thought that maybe you'd have more money than you do at this particular point in your life. Maybe there's been some things that, you know, job changes or job losses or maybe there just hasn't been the growth in your your profession or your job or your husband's job or whatever that you anticipated that you expected or thought would happen. And you just are like, huh, the economy and the job situation, you know, I just kind of thought I'd be in a different place than I am. I just really thought that maybe I would be making more money. I just thought we'd be in a different place, making more money, having more experiences, whatever, fill in the blank with your own things, right? And you just kind of want to make more money, but you're like, well, I don't want to get a new career. I don't really want to to quit my job. I don't know that I there's really any place for me to grow inside the job I have. And maybe you're just kind of in this place where you just kind of feel like you don't really have any options or the options that you feel like you see, you just don't really want those or they're not super great. And so you're just finding yourself in this place where you'd like to make more money, you're not.
really exactly sure how or what that would look like. Okay. So what you would do is you would go in to your mind and you would start looking at your day and looking at the routines that you have when it comes to money, when it comes to spending money, earning money, saving money, investing money, whatever, your budgeting, maybe your debt, like anything that it revolves around money, you just take a look at no judgment, not like, well, of course, you know, I'm in this place because I make dumb decisions with money. Like that's a that's a judgment and it's a harsh judgment because we can't prove that no matter what is happening with your finances, we can't we can't prove things unless we have actual numbers. And then even when we have actual numbers, they're just numbers. What what you think about those numbers is a choice for you. Like it's just thoughts you have in your head. It's just the perspective that you actually have. And that's where where self reflection and inner exploration comes in because what we think about our situations creates more of our situation that we have. So if you look at your bank account, whatever you think about your bank account is what you're creating. And so if it's not enough, you're creating not enough. If your thought is there's not enough, then that's what you're creating, not enough. I never have enough money. I can't afford this. There's never enough. All of that language. If that's what you think when you look at your money situation, then that is what you're creating more of. You are just creating more, not enough money because of the things that you're thinking. And by running around all day long saying that you don't have money for things and that every there's not enough money and that you can't afford everything. And oh, well, I wish I could have this thing, but I don't have enough money is just keeping you making not enough money. So just notice it. Just notice that that is the story that you have around money. And that it is creating the experience and the result that you have right now. What you are thinking right now is creating what you have right now. So if you want something that you don't have right now, let's say more money, then you have to think in a way that you've never thought about money before. So you have to create it in your mind first. You have to create this feeling and this story and this awareness and all of the thoughts and beliefs and patterns and routines to create more money in your mind first. So what that means is you have to open up the possibility that maybe there's a way to make more money or to have money come into your life that you just aren't aware of and you're open to receiving the way that that money is going to come to you and you don't need to know the exact how it's a vibe, it's an energy, it's a feeling, it's a awake awareness, it's an openness that you are curious to how money would come into your life and just being open to possibilities and understanding your values and your beliefs and your desires and what you want in your life and then aligning that with who you are and who you want to become is the way that you get what you want. So you can do this by journaling, you can do it with meditating. My favorite way is visualizing. So that's why I named this podcast creating a vision of the person that you really want to be because creating that vision in your mind is what creates the feelings that you have in your body and it will also create space for those things to actually happen for you and it will also create some clarity on how to create those things. It'll give you ideas of how you're going to create things. So I like to get a vision in my mind of what I want to create and just daydream, just daydream, allow yourself to dream, allow yourself to go to that place where there's rainbows and unicorns and just visualize. That's my favorite way because I love the way that feels when I create feelings from those visualizations. That's just me. But I do journal a lot and I do do some meditation not as much but I journal every day and I visualize every day and I visualize the person that I'm becoming, that version of myself that I want to become. So in your self-reflection, find all of those patterns and stories that are creating the life that you have now and then visualize and start creating the stories, the patterns, the routines that would create the version of you that is in your dreams, the person that has those things already. And then the second thing that you do is create and cultivate some positive self-talk. This is where those affirmations come in. But you have to visualize your dreams first before you come up with positive self-talk, before you come up with affirmations because you can just grab somebody's positive self-talk and start repeating it to yourself. But if you don't have a vision of what you're trying to create, then those affirmations aren't going to stick and they're not going to mean anything to you. And so they're just going to be positive thoughts, that's it. And what you want to try to do is create positive self-talk and affirmations on a daily basis as many of them as you can because that will replace the limiting and the negative beliefs that you have now in your mind. So you're not trying to change those limiting beliefs, you're not trying to change the negative self-talk, you're just trying to squeeze it out with positive stuff, with empowering statements that reflect your ideal self. You want positive and empowering statements that help you believe that you are becoming the person that you have in your mind that you want to be. And consistently doing this reinforces those positive messages and those positive affirmations and statements. And then pretty soon, the negative stuff gets squashed out by the positive stuff because then all of those things are just reinforcing all of those positive messages. And there's no place for negative self-talk to be. And those limiting beliefs, there's just no space for them because you have created space and then filled that space with positive messages. And then you can shift your mindset and elevate your self-image with those things. And then you just attract abundance like crazy. It is the craziest thing and the opportunities that come into your life are just mind-blowing. And what has happened is you have opened yourself up to receive the blessings and the intuition and the positive revelations from God. That is what that is. Is you've opened up that conduit to God. And that is where you're receiving all of those things. Is Heavenly Father is just waiting. He's trying to give you all the things you want. He is trying to do it. But that conduit just isn't open enough. We've just got to open it up. Sometimes we think that we know how to do things and so we close that conduit to God because we got
it. I got it. I know how to do this. That's what I did all last year. Hustle, hustle, hustle, push, push, be brave. All of those things were great and they were good. But it got me in a state of, what do I, I don't even know what the state is. Tired. I did create a lot of awesome stuff and I was really proud of myself. But I want to, I want to see what will happen if I just surrender and just allow for Heavenly Father to give me the things that I want and just be grateful for all of those things that I want to create. I'm just going to be grateful for them now. So then that leads me to the third thing is to feel, feel it, embody it. You can learn things, you can read things, you can tell yourself positive affirmations all day long, but until you feel it and embody it, it's not going to stick. You have to embody the qualities of the person that you aspire to be. Visualize that person that you are that person, living the life that you desire and really feel what that feels like and then take the actions that are aligned with that person that you've envisioned. And then once you step into that role of your ideal self, of your person that you want to be and start behaving the way that that person would behave, that's when you start manifesting who that person is, you start to become that person, you start to create that person and bring her into reality. That is how you do it. That's how you create a vision of the person that you really want to be. Self-reflect, figure out what your patterns are, figure out what stories you're telling yourself about you and your potential because that's what's creating what you have now. And then create a vision of the person that you want to be. Dream, dream, dream. Just dream and dream and dream. Visualize, journal, meditate, pray, whatever, all of those things, whatever feels good or all of the things. And then when you're in that space, create some positive self-talk, create some positive affirmations that you can say to yourself daily, multiple affirmations so that you can replace the negative self-talk and the self-limiting beliefs that you have with the change those and replace those with the empowering statements and reinforce those positive messages so that you can shift your mindset and elevate your self-image and then attract that person into reality. And then feel it. Feel what it feels like to be that woman, to be that person that's created that life and those desires. And then take action that's aligned with that vision and start stepping into the role of that person. A person, whatever it is like, I was just listening to a thing about millionaires. So a millionaire does XYZ. Millionaires do whatever, blah, blah, blah. Millionaires make their bed every day and so you make your bed, right? And once you can do this, visualize and get some self-talk, some positive self-talk and then feel it. Feel what it feels like to be that person that you want to become. You will start to see her in your reality. It is the coolest thing. Feels amazing. And when you embrace these practices, and actively shape your self-image as a woman over 40, you can raise your vibration and attract success and abundance. And ultimately, you can live the life filled with purpose, filled with joy, filled with fulfillment, and whatever dreams you have for your life. It can happen. I have done some amazing things in the last couple of years by doing this work. I have a journal that I'm creating right now called the Self-image Daily Practice Journal. And I am so excited about it because it is what I have been doing to create the life I have. And I am creating my very own version of a journaling practice to help you create the life that you want to live because I have an amazing life. And I have created some amazing things. And this year is going to be the best yet. I can feel it in my bones. And I just am so excited to get this out to you and help you create it too. Because I want you to feel in your body what I feel in my body right now doing this work. Because it is amazing. It is such a high vibration and it feels so good. And you can get so much done with less energy because your vibration is higher. Your energy is higher. And so you can create more without using as much energy. It is the craziest. It's awesome. And I want that for you. I want you to be able to create the woman that's in your mind right now. I want you to be able to feel what it feels like to be her. It is amazing you guys. Okay. That's what I have for you guys this week. I have some really great podcast episodes coming up. I am in a really high vibe right now. And I'm so excited for what I have in store for this podcast and for my clients. And for my life and for yours. I'm just really excited to help you create and be the woman that you want to be and feel how amazing that is. So stay tuned for next week. I will be here again. Same time, same place. And until then I hope you guys have a wonderful, wonderful week. And you are doing amazing things. So I will see you on the next episode. See you. Bye.
