- Oh God, oh God, how do we start, how do we start, how do we start? Welcome back to another episode of "New Heights." - We are not Jason and Travis. - We are not your host, Jason and Travis Kelsey. - We are back with another countdown episode here for the pre-season. Get you guys excited about a list to argue about. - Today on our top 92 moments, we are counting down clips 70 to 40. - That is a lot of clips. We don't have a lot of time to waste. Jake, let's kick it off right here. Number 70. - One of the greatest lies ever told cats are poisonous. - Maybe we're not sure you and I are not scientists. Cats are poisonous, Jason Kelsey. - You know what my latest plan to divert our family from getting a cat is? I just keep telling our girls that cats are poisonous. - Why the fuck would you tell them that? - So that they don't want cats, and I don't have to deal with having a cat and make them terrified of them. - That's sick. - They'll find out. - I think lying to your kids is important. - That in this regard. - I think it's great. - I think it's Jesus. - It's Jesus. - They're gonna go over a friend's house and fucking scream bloody murder because they see a cat. - That's fine. That sounds like that person's house problem. - I hear it's psychoma. - This guy is ridiculous. - I gotta get these kids on my side otherwise I'm in a sink and ship. - You grew up with a cat, dude. - Travis, I know they're not poisonous. I'm saying my girls don't. - Why do you dislike cats so much? - Kylie is like they're not poisonous. Your dad is lying to you. I'm like, listen, if you have a cat, the government will come and take it from you. Because they're so lethal. I mean, they can kill you. They don't even have to bite you. Just them licking you. You fear their tongue. It has little needles on it. And then I pull up pictures of a zoomed-in picture on a cat's tongue. And it looks like needles. And it terrifies the fuck out of them. Fucking great. - You're fucking ridiculous. - As a soon-to-be dad, I've learned so much fatherly advice from Jason. - You can just lie to your kids. - Just lie to your kids. - Yeah, just lie to your kids. - I don't remember how I was lied to about. But I'm sure it was something. - I mean, I still think it's illegal to drive with the lights on inside your car. I think that's a universal parent lie. - Oh, yeah. That's right. Yeah. Yeah, cops pull you over because it means you're doing something illegal in the car if the lights on. And that is something you do believe. - And all it is is playing Pokemon in the back seat. But see, I feel like my parents always just lied to me about when stuff was open. I mean, can we go to this? I go, it's closed. And there was no way to look that up. - And I was like, man, it's crazy that that store closes at 5.30. I can't. How's this profitable for free to away? Anyways, clip. - Yeah, speaking of Jason and his kids. One of the most adorable moments from the last season was Ellie crashing our Randy Moss episode. - Jason, when it was time for you to call it quick, what's the number one thing in your mind? You knew you were going to miss about the game. - I knew I was going to miss competing. - Okay. - You see, is Ellie in the background now? - Ellie, this is so funny. - Do you go upstairs room? - No. - Why not? - Is that the oldest one? - This is my second. - This is my second. - You see how the greatest receiver ever to play football? Say hi to Randy Moss. - Hi, Randy Moss. - Hi, Randy Moss. - Hi, Randy Moss. - Hi, Randy Moss. - Hi, Randy Moss. - So happy. - Man. (laughs) - Love you Uncle Travis. - Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. - Hi, Randy. - Nice. - I mean, just adorable. - I mean, the kids have great timing. I keep saying, the kids have good comedic timing for Wintoo interrupt the podcast. They are savants at interrupting when it's both acceptable and very funny. Randy Moss also. Just the coolest guy. I have been a Randy Moss fan forever. Randy Moss, the coolest man of life. - Love you Uncle Travis. Love you Randy Moss. - Love you Randy Moss. (laughs) - Just an incredible one. - I mean, you can't write that. - You can't write that. - Yeah. Moving on to number 68. I take all the credit for starting this horseshit debate. And I'm now sick of this debate and want to go away. This is my Frankenstein's monster. Is the NFL versus NBA player debate. Which player could play and which league? I think we started that. I'm going to declare that we started that. This is the clip of the first time this came up with Travis, you know. Obviously thinking he could probably get some good minutes in the NBA. - We know that NBA guys could definitely play in the NFL. - Yeah, for sure. - Okay. Is the reverse, do you think there's NFL players that could play in the NBA? - Outside of the guys that like made the transition from basketball. Because there's guys that make that transition all the time. - I'm talking about, yeah. Guys that have played basketball for all that. - Yeah. I would say Jimmy Graham could have definitely played in the NBA. I see, no. - He would have played in the NBA. This is my argument. - This guy is rebound that just come in for rebound. - Yeah, but all of those guys were better. - All of those guys were better NBA players and better basketball players. - See, but that's the thing. - They earned the right to be a rebounder and a role player on an NBA team by still being great basketball players before that. I'm not gonna disagree with the NFL players that could play a role on an NBA team. I just don't think any of them are good enough to play in the NBA. Otherwise they'd be playing in the NBA. It's that simple. Every NFL player would rather play in the NBA. - But at the same time, would you rather be an end of the bench guy in the NBA or be a star tied in in the National Football League? - I don't know if they'd be an end of the bench guy in the NBA. What do you talk about? That sounds like a great gig. I'm gonna come on and play barely any minutes. Just play a little bit of defense, rebound. I don't even have to shoot. - Give me a 10 day. Let me see. - Yeah, that sounds like a great gig. Travis used to have tickets court side to the Cleveland Cavaliers. And early in my career, I went down there and I sat court side. Watch LeBron. I think they're playing-- - LeBron James. - Well, it was LeBron. - I think Harry was still on the team. - Another one. - There was some beast on there. - Just unbelievable athletes. Athletes, you see them play and you see them move and you're like, that's-- - But it wasn't just them. - It wasn't just them, Travis. It was the whole thing. I'm sitting there and I-- I think when you're on the same level of these guys-- - You got to impress by this Verna Silgowskis. - When you're on the same level as these guys, it is a whole other world. You really get a grasp for how tall they are and not just that, how tall, how fast, but how coordinated they are. It's crazy. The amount of body control, footwork, hand-eye coordination, the athleticism level of NBA talent. I mean, it's not even close. - Yeah. - And maybe it's because I play offensive line and I'm around a bunch of fat guys all day and it's really different. But I have not seen that caliber athlete in an NFL uniform yet. - Just saying. - Yeah, it felt like after this came up on the show the next week of first take was like one NFL guy and one NBA guy and it was everywhere. - If you want to know the answer to this debate, go look at the photo of Jalen Brown at the Eagles practice standing next to Jalen Hertz. Go look at it. Jalen looks normal-sized. And I can guarantee you he's not. That's the answer to the question. There is no NFL player who's getting quality minutes in the NBA. I'm sorry. It's not happening. - All right, keep it in moving 'cause we got a lot of moments to talk about this episode. This has been by far the most surreal experience for me as a member of the show. - Put another one of your clips on the list, did you, Jake? - You put this on the list. There's really, really no way to explain this. We can get into some of the backstory after the clip rolls. But this is Kason Barrett joining the show as we pay off our Jets Shake tattoo bet. - All right, we do have one very special stamp of the week to hand out. - Oh, man. - That's right. We said if anyone got a Jets Shake pin-up tattoo, they could be on the show and turns out we had a fairly crazy enough to do this. - Let's go. - Wildman joining us today. - Show them his face. - We are men of a word. So here to receive a special stamp of the week, please welcome Kason Barrett. Let's go! - Let's go, dudes. - Never in a million years that I think I'd have my name on that intro, so thank you for that. - Come on, man. Hell yeah, brother. - You deserve it, man. Hell yeah, you deserve it. - You earned a stupidity bravery whenever you want to call it. How many tattoos do you have? - I've got quite a few. - You see you're sleeved up a little bit on the arm, yeah. - Okay. - Are both of your tattoos pin-ups, sir? - Yeah, not all but one. - Got a sleeve. - So I got, you know, the cross. - Oh nice, the cross, yep. - And then we got, you know, the fame. One everybody wants to see. - Let's see, let's see this. - Yeah! - Look at that. - Oh, that's a little. - It's a little generous on the body right there. Let's see, we're gonna. - You're telling me, man, I think the whole thing was generous. - We got a better picture of it right here so we can show the people. There you go. What has been the reaction to the jet-shake tattoo that you got from other people? - It's been absolutely insane. - It's so proud but disappointed. - It's so disappointed. - Oh! - He's a saint, man. I don't know how I've reacted. - You showed mom, that's hilarious. - Oh yeah, I'll day one. I'm in my 20s, you know, I'm young and dumb. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Maybe I can make this 15 minutes of fame last 30, who knows? And I got to send it. - Oh yeah, dude, this is fun, man. - You sent it. - You definitely sent it. - Are you a jet-shake fan? - Jet-shake, why aren't you come on in, man? - Let's get on with that ice. - You don't know. I'll tell you what, if I didn't know any better, you two look like brothers. - I know, this kind of looks like he could produce the show between me and him.
- Yeah, it's just, three wide dudes appeared. - You guys, I kinda look like brothers. - I'll take it, and you can pass that tattoo off on your own as soon as this is done, but I'm truly honored. Thank you for making me look way more jacked than I am in person. It was very nice and Jared. - Yeah, very, this whole thing has been very surreal. It's nice to finally get to meet you, bud. - Yes, sir, I appreciate you not thinking I'm too totally, you know, weird for heaven. (laughing) - Just to be clear, I think you're extremely weird. - You'd be right, it's the right kind of week. - Precisely why you're here, huh? - We're on board. - So when this started, the pen of tattoos, someone got a pen of tattoo of Jason, which makes sense. - Which makes sense. - That actually tracks completely. That somebody in Philly would do that, yes. - Then someone got a pen of tattoo of Travis, which makes even more sense, and was encouraged. - We did kind of encourage somebody to do that. Yeah, that's kind of on us. - This started as a joke because we were like, no one will ever fucking do this. And then someone did it. - And then we found the one guy who said, I got space on the leg. - As Kasim was posting to the new Heitz Reddit that he was gonna do this, this is a little backstory. I reached out to him and I was like, hey man, this is really funny. You don't have to do this. - Sincerely, it's good. - Sincere can say any guy's like, ah, nah, it's funny. I was like, all right. I was at my mom's house at the time when he posted the tattoo and I showed her. And she was like, where does this child need a mother like, where is this? I need to correct this person's life choices who just got a thigh tattoo of my son. But I've since met him and he is a lovely human being. So shout out Kasim. - That is actually the most shocking thing about. This is that you meet him and that he's normal. Like, we were all very worried to have him on. We were like, this is not, this is gonna be very uncomfortable. But he's actually quite normal and pleasant. I don't know how to say, shout out to you. - Shout out to the 92%ers. This is why we do it. Cause you guys are the best fans in the world. - And we can, stop this bit right now. This is the, he won. Please nobody else. Tattoo yourself for the show. - Unless someone wants to get a brand in tattoo. - Please, I'm not gonna say don't. But go for it. I promise you nothing in return. But yeah, go for it. Number 66, another Kylie Kelsey. We have sprinkled Kylie throughout the list. This is Kylie on to, this is her describing her first time skiing. - I'm assuming most people have skied. I had never even clipped into skis before or been in skiing boots. They have like a tilt forward so that you're constantly sort of on your toes almost. - Quads are burning for sure. - Here's the problem with that. If you try to sit down, your butt does not touch the ground. - Nope. - I found that out the hard way when I got off the ski lift and immediately tried to bail onto my ass. - Can't go back, you got to the side. - No, I must have been in a aerodynamic, like fully folded down, aerodynamic position for a good 10 seconds before I was like, it's not working, it has to bail out sideways. - There you go. - That was the moment I should have turned around. I should have gotten my ass right back on that ski lift. - No. - But the problem is that I love a challenge. - Yes. - I love a challenge. And if someone's like, physically, you should be able to do this. I'm like, then I can do it. And that is exactly what happened. - And you did it, and you did it. - I will say, I think you were, I think you said it took me 45 minutes to get down that mountain. I think you were being generous. I think it took me like a good hour. - Maybe a little more. - I was being extremely generous. Kylie, we got to the bottom, we got to the bottom of the hill, 45 minutes before you did. That's what I'm saying. - That's what I'm saying. I think, yeah, I'll tell you what, there was. - I had like five beers by the time I was at the bottom of the hill. When we finally saw you like in plain sight. - You know what, that was the scariest part, because that's where everybody-- - All of the hills like merged. And I was like, there's a lot of traffic in the bottom of the zone. I'm like, she's in hand on this. - Yeah, I'm like, a lot of people. - I got all the binoculars, and it was ready for swing. - There was one period, it was, there was one, there was one-- - There was more electric. - There was one steep drop off. Probably like 25, 30 minutes ago. And it was a pretty short part of the hill, but I think it's where we had like the-- - It was a mountain. - I need you to, I need you to, I need you to. - I think it was the moment where Jason was like, we're not waiting for you. And I was going and veered left. And if you veered too far left, you were going off the edge of the mountain. - Yeah. - And I had this moment of, I think I should be here. - I never saw that, huh? - It was like, I remember this. - It was a drop off. - I do remember this. - It was trees and then a drop off. - It was a steepest drop off too. I remember this. - And that was the moment I went sideways on the edge of the hill, mountain, and looked up at the clouds and was like, I think I should have gotten back on the ski lift. - Not to mention, I've had, like Jason said, I was in pizza the whole way down. I've had two hip surgeries. I'm not equipped to be at that angle for that long while pushing against the snow. It was a hot mess expressed on the hill, mountain. - Listen, her whole premise is places that she has no business being. And one of those is the top of a mountain. - The top of a mountain? - She's on theme. God bless you, Kylie. We should get you out doing more sports. - This is another tangentially Kylie related moment. - It is. - She is not out here. Number 65, Jumanji as a turn on. (laughing) How does a man handle that when your wife is the only woman you're about to have sex with, but she doesn't want to. And I'm not one to cheat. I never have been. - That's good. - That's good. - Give me some advice here, fellas. - Well, yes, we're like hard to say. - Thank you very much for calling in. Oh my god, Leon Philps. Tell me those would tell you to start doing it in the butt. I would personally mention that I have no idea what that's. - Yeah, I think this is a hard one. - Hmm. - Where some really skin type pants? - Oh, show off to 10,000 girls. - Show it off. Sometimes they just want to see the good. I don't know what your words are. - If you have a big rear end. If you have a big rear end, just put some type pants on and just start doing work where it's nice up in the air and she has to look at it. You got a nice bulge. Maybe you've been blessed with that. Just nice tight pants where it's hanging down the side of the leg. I don't know what you've been blessed with, but show off what she finds attractive in you. - Beater to the punch, do some shit. You know you're supposed to be doing without her asking. Beater to the punch. Let her know like, listen, baby, I'm trying. - Maybe if you're on the TV, put something on that just really you know is going to get her revved up and go on. You know she's into Baywatch or she's got a thing. She's got a thing for a specific actor. It's okay. It doesn't have to be you that's getting her excited. Like sometimes they just get excited watching stuff. Maybe she's into the rock. And you guys just happen to watch. You guys just happen to watch that Kevin Hart movie that the rock in him is in with. I forget what it's called, but you know what you want to talk about. Whatever rock movie it is. Jumanji, just watch Jumanji. Maybe she's in the jungle and muscular men. - Yeah, go on. Try and role play one night. You know see if she's up for that or go to Spencer's and get some fucking sex stuff, man. I don't know. - Yeah, you can also go that's right. You can go all like, kink it up. - Yeah, go back. - Find a way to just love her. - We're going to, it's got a fucking experiment. - Look at this thing I just bought. Who knows, where does it go? We'll find out. (laughing) - I'll never look at that movie the same again. - It's, what's funny is we, I believe this is one of the first times we started doing relationship advice. And I remember immediately people were like, do more of it. And I went, oh God, no, we've, like we've done something here. This is not, this can't be good. (laughing) - Jesus, hopefully that couple's doing great. Number 64, back to a debate or a running theme of the show that has come up quite often. This is the first time we all learn this about Travis. His aversion to tubular meats. - You don't eat sausage? - I'll do like a sausage patty. - Bratwurst? - Like a breakfast sausage. - You don't do any tubular shaped meats? - I'll do sausage. - Unlike a pizza, you know what I'm saying? - Travis, pepperoni sauce is pizza. - You won't eat a kielbasa? - I'll do sausage in like a pasta. I'll do some like bolognese. - You won't eat like a hot dog. - I'm out, Jason, I'm out. - So you'll eat it in patty form, but not the tubular form. Is there a reason why you won't eat it in the tubular form? - How does it get in the tube? - It's called a casing. - That's disgusting. - So it's just the casing part. - It's not the shape of it. - I know what your kids do. - I love sausages, so. - Sometimes I don't even chew 'em. I just swallow 'em right down my gullet. - When we all learn this, I think it did bring everybody to a screeching hall. - It did sort of like shut down all of our brains for like 10 minutes like a hot dogs. - The guys' opinions on food are staunch and entrenched and very, very funny. - They do not budge. - They should have their own separate food podcast,
If not, I'm glad that they'll discuss those things here. All right, Cuban moving, number 63, Travis's Al Bundy game. We got to talk about the elephant in the room. You scored four touchdowns. I don't know if you remember. No, I remember them all. But during the game, I was like, man, I really do have three touchdowns right now going into the fourth drive for the fourth touchdown, but like I was saying, I mean, the four touchdowns are cool and all, but it was how we got to the red zone that out got really excited about, man. Yeah, you had four touchdowns, but only 25 yards receiving. If that isn't the most selfish stat I've ever seen in my life, let me do zero work and just show up and get off the glory. I'm going to go dance in the end zone. Time out, man. Time out. I wasn't, I didn't dance one fucking time because I was dog shit tired. They were all 10 11 12 play drives where I was getting double teamed bracketed. I by two DB's as well as them putting I know, I know, I saw their zones, everybody saw crossby. They were but you know, they were, I mean, I don't know if you're trying to get jiggy out there, man. No, I haven't seen the broadcast. But just me day is a half time literally said their entire game plan essentially was to stop you. I'm not making that up. You're the guy in the class project that doesn't show up the entire time. And then just shows up on the day we do, we guys need me to do. I'm here. I'm here. You want me to say a joke? I can get everybody a plus, good job, group, group effort. The other thing I had a problem with is after the game, you said those touchdowns are for you, mom. Okay? First of all, it was for mom's birthday. Mom's birthday was on the ninth, not the 10th, so your day late with your touchdowns. Okay. And second of all, who are, why do you think you can buy mom's love with touchdowns? That is insulting to mom. You can't buy mom's love with touchdowns. Slowly. I'm slowly. I'm like, mom, I can't give you kids quite yet, but I can give you touchdowns. Mom is. How's four of them? How's four of them sound, mom? Do you love me? Please say you do. She probably does. No. She was in attendance. She loved it. She said, thank you when I saw her in the suite afterwards. So. Of course she loved it. Well, I guess we're just going to have to keep popping out grandkids and people before touchdown games. It was one of the first times that a member of people being or feeling the enthusiasm tune into the show. Like, people really wanted to hear Travis talk about scoring four touchdowns while only having like, I think less than 20 yards receiving. He had seven receptions for 25 yards and four touchdowns. What a jerk. He said, I'm keeping it between the 15s, boys. The thing you get when you're on a podcast with your brother is the guy being like seven catches for 25 yards. You selfish. Yeah. That's very selfish. That's Jason's immediate reaction. What's selfish is that? Which fantastic, fantastic number 62, a Brandon moment makes its appearance on the list. Oh, you're a part of this was basket weave. Go ahead. Should we just roll the clip? Roll the clip. I don't remember what I said during it. I remember Jason. Have you heard Andy say tickling totsles before? Never heard him say that one. No. That's a new one. He's got a bunch of bangers in his pocket, though, man. He's got so many and he's been doing this for so long, man. He knows which ones really he should the people go and pull out exactly. I've never heard Andy rip it like that. I loved it. I'm fired up. Well, the thing is Andy didn't mean it like that. Andy was just trying to say shove the ball down the throat, which he will say. What are other like sexual like metaphors that coaches have used in the past? The one that I've always heard is you take these big ass dick beaters you got and you put them into that Chimino the Jess. That's one of my favorite dick beaters is a great all-timeer. You never heard that one. You have, I am. That's a long way to just say hands. Yes. You can't just say something. You need to say something that registers something in your head. If you say like, "Hey, put your hands in his chest," it's like, "I don't even, that's already out my fucking brain." You tell me to put my dick beaters inside of his chest. I'm remembering you telling me to put my dick beaters in his chest. I'm not going to forget that one. Oh, my hands. How did you know? I really only have one dick beater. Are you guys using both? They started looking around the room. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. You guys are going lefty. No, no, no, same time, same time, same time. I'm a basket we've got myself. I sent this clip to Jason to be like, "Hey, like, just want to make sure we're good." He's like, "Let me have Kylie look at it." Kylie looked at me and he goes, "It is a long clip for you guys just talking about turkey golf." But it's funny, so I think you're okay. I didn't know that Kylie's approval. That's very funny. I apologize for nothing. Stuff happens. We record it. We show it to you. I don't know. I'll tell you. I'll tell you. 61. Man, yeah. Little dicky. Kind of like an underrated episode in my opinion. I feel like he's slender. The radar is like a great guest. Super funny guy. Great episode. If you haven't watched it, go back and watch it. It's, you know, it's ever-ending. This is one of my favorite stories. This is one of my favorite stories anybody has ever told. This is when he was disrespected during a celebrity basketball game. Another story I've never told that just came into my head. It's perfect for this moment. Yes. Oh my gosh. Celebrity basketball game. It was like Floyd Mayweather, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, like John Wall. It was like stacked and I had no mainstream. I had like a couple of viral. I don't know how I got in the game to the point where I actually put a lot of stock and import in this game that I got there an hour early to warm up because I literally thought like a way that I could like get ahead in this like industry faster will be like scoring 30 points in this game. And I've seen so many celeb games where I'm like, these guys suck, you know, and so on. I was excited to go there and really, you know, and a few things happened. One, I'm there warming up by myself and Chris Brown walks in. He can play. He can do it. The first time I ever saw Chris Brown and so I'm like blown away by like just seeing him. He walks right up to me and he goes, you're a dope rapper. And I was like, and it was so early. I would never expect him to know who I am and like to have like an icon in the music industry who is like countless, like number, it's just like him saying that to me and everything. Yeah. That was the impetus of freaky Friday. Us meeting there. That's step one. It's like the least important part of the story. Okay. All right. Then we play in with it. The game starts. I'm not in the starting line. I'm nowhere close. It's like, you know, it's the people I named. My coach is John Wall. The way he could coach the way he, well, not actually because the way John Wall went about operating his team was he, he did five in five out. So he had starting five. Then he just. So complete. Yeah. Okay. I'm in the next five. I'm told to get Chris Brown. So I walk up to Chris and I go, like, yo, I'm in for you and he goes, I'm not coming out. Oh, that's awkward. And then there's 11 guys on the court. Everyone is like matched like I'm clearly the I look to John Wall. Can you help? Like coach. Like, and he goes, John Wall goes like, and he brings me back over. First thing I say is, like, John, like get a grip and like have some like authority on the team. It's just like really? To like send me out there and then pull me back in. It's like so he masculates. It's so good. And, and, and then, then they're playing and then I get in like the next five or whatever. I get in the game. I get in the game. I get the ball. I drive aggressively. I go up. I get to the rim. I get fouled so hard by Deontay Wilder that at the time of heavyweight champion of the world. Like, everyone, like, everyone like the whole gym, like, like, I thought like I really got hurt. I didn't hurt. I think the, I don't know. It didn't really hurt that much. I took it. Yeah. I get up. I miss two free throws. And then I play one more meaningless minute. And then I just didn't even, I like move to the end of the bench and just chose not to make myself available for the rest of the game. But that was a real like, there was like several different moments in there that felt like, like, welcome to the industry. That was like the first time I think I ever like, like, was on like giddy images. You know what I mean? It was like, like, water marks images of like me talking to Snoop like, I don't want to like, restate the clip too much because it just played, but there are so many funny beads in that from the fact that he got fouled by Deontay Wilder to John Wall not knowing how to code. Great storyteller. Great episode. Season two. Go back and check that one out. All right. It's sticking with a basketball theme. One of our favorite basketball guests we've ever had on the show. This is Shaq breaking down his favorite dunks of all time at number 60. There's two of them. And I actually just seen his duty on the day. Chris Dudley. Nice. I took it as a sign of respect when he didn't double me. And I don't even know who's on me like, you know, they're switching my, I never say fucking Chris Dudley. So I take one little joke.
double. He's trying to, yeah, yeah, once you're like, the fuck, I take two dribble. I even carry on a second. I was like, oh, he's my fuck is not coming. Now, I got to take that and then just drop step in and boot and like he was all on me and I was like, fuck off me. And then my second favorite dunk was game seven. Porton is kicking his ass. So we come to the time on the four quarter in Phil Jackson. Him and George used to like mine. All right, guys, great year. They're kicking us. I'll see you next year. Kobe's pissed. He said, I'm pissed. He said, like, man, fuck that. Let's go on a little run. So we're going to run. Kobe's in Kobe mode. He's getting to the whole two people, three people. He don't care. He's no, he has to score it. I'm telling him the whole time. Amen. That fucking loud is open. We make kind of eye contact. I won't say he winked at me, but he looked at me and he crossed the Scotty up at the top of the key. He crossed Scotty up and he got him in lane. He threw the motherfucker up too high. And I had to go get it right up. Kobe. Yeah, Kobe. Yes, that was right there. That place is fucking rock it. I'll say this one gets a little extra love from me because and I'm going to put this in the audio. This is only for the audio listeners. And do not cinch me out. That was some wild copyright infringement. We did that episode. Shaq was yelling at me to show his highlights. And I didn't want to tell him like, I don't know if I can. Shaq. Brandon, bowl of a clip. Yeah. Brandon rolled a clip. I said, that sounds legal to me. I'm rolling it. This episode made you the guy in the green fucking shirt. That is the guy in the green fucking shirt. Yes. Shaq. Thank you for the nickname number 59. This is, I think this is our first clip from the first episode. Like on this list. Oh, first clip from episode one on this list. This is the first appearance of episode one, which is a fascinating episode. Go back and watch. I did that recently. This is how Jason spent his off season. Highlight of my off season was going to see my cows in Missouri. The show mistake. They showed me some cows. What got you into that? I think going to cousins farm growing up in West Virginia. So I bought 11 cows. We had nine calves. And I went out there for calving in branding guys on horses, lasso's, ropanum, tie them down, piece of hot iron in the fire. This is a funny man. I'm not going to lie. It's intense. Did you? Oh, yeah. You do the branding. And then you also got to castrate the ones that you're not going to keep his bowls. You're city slicker, you man. There's two ways you do it. Either one, you do the banded method. And the band cuts off the blood supply. And the nuts just fall off. I'm out. What are where we even going with this? I don't want to know about how you get this off season. Have you cut it? Bulls nuts off? No, I don't think yeah, a little behind the scene story for this now that we've given some BTS. Give them some BTS. First episode we ever recorded the show didn't know what the show was going to be. No idea. Didn't didn't really understand how the process will work. We were recording this like around or over labor day again, which recorded and we put it out. What do you mean? You didn't understand. We were on vacation for celebrating my wife's birthday. And I was so like the show came up came up quick. I was like, I'm so sorry. I have to work during our vacation. We're in like a tiny little Airbnb. And she came back because she had like gone out to like a farmer's workers something she came back and I'm cackling at my computer. And she was like, what is got what are you watching? What is going on? I was like, I think we're going to have a pretty funny show. This was a moment where Brandon and I were like texting each other like, I think this is what the show is. I'll be honest, you know, we we kind of put some stuff in the first ever like rundown that was just like, you know, we knew Travis had done like cool celebrity stuff. We wanted to talk about that and watching Jason get visibly over it and being like, hey, hey, so I had my hand of a bull's ass, right? And we're like, oh, here we go. This is this is he is cutting off a cool golf story with wanting to talk about a cast rating bulls or whatever the fuck he was doing. Goddammit Jason. There's the band of method. And it also was just perfect because you had Jake like not only was Jason telling this graphic story in full detail, you have the foil of Travis just trying to like slow his brother down but also being endlessly entertained by him. This was there was also debate when we first did this episode. Like, you know, we always kind of decide what to make into social clips. And I remember the the first meeting episode was like, well, we got to do the bull thing first and everybody went, what are you fucking talking? Like, imagine if we open this football show with a club of bull testicles and that got voted down. So I think it became the third second or third club ever made. But I want I thought that was the best moment of the episode was like, what better way to define what this show is than it's too whether it's fighting about cast rating bulls. I don't know what else you're expecting. It's sticking with season one. We've got a couple season one clubs back to back here. But coming in at number 58, maybe the most contentious debate we've ever had on the show is Waffle House a diner. Trevor Lawrence celebrated his big win in Jacksonville by going to Waffle House. I'm with the Waffle House last week. Dude, Waffle House is tremendous. What do you get at the Waffle House? What'd you go to? Paddleman with the hands browns. I'm all American breakfast sausage over easy. I'm getting two waffles regardless. The waffles are unbelievable. I don't like fast food that's trying to be something that it's not. Waffle House isn't fast food. Well, it's the fast food of breakfast. What? What would you call it? It's a diner. It's different than the diner. It's a diner, but it's not a diner. It's literally modeled after a diner. I would not classify it as a diner. I would classify it as a waffle house. See, you're calling it fast food and it's not fast food. Have you ever been to a diner? Yes, it looks exactly like it. Diners are unique like you're at Marty's diner. Let's have that as a fanboat. Is Waffle House a diner? I don't think it's a diner. 100% a diner. Is eye-hop a diner? No, it's a full-on restaurant. That's a loose term for a restaurant. Brandon, where do you land on this debate? Waffle House is Waffle House. It does not fit into any sort of category. It is a place outside of time and space. It has its own legal system. It has its own justice department. It has its own. Yeah, if you've been to a waffle house, you understand. You walk in there, you are sort of like in unincorporated territory. You are in the Wild West. You've adopted a whole new constitutional walking in there. I do not consider it a diner because it's a restaurant. So it's not fast food. It's not a diner. It is a place that producer Aaron Lorick still has to go to because he owes us like a sh*t on Waffles. That's true. It's a March Madness thing. Waffle bet that we've not forgotten about. We haven't forgotten. Just didn't have time to do it. Anyways, Brandon, take us to number 57. Season one, our first live show in Kansas City. What a what a throwback. This is the moment we revealed Pat Mahomes to the audience. Wow. My check. Ladies and gentlemen, you're super bold. We'll see you on our backs. Yeah. You were in a big throw the football into the crowd mood. You threw the first ball into the crowd, threw the second ball into the crowd. And you were telling me before we got going on the show today that you were a little bit upset you threw the second touchdown into the crowd. F*ck! Because that was sh*t. Hennie's first playoff touchdown pass. I check the stats. I think it is his first touchdown pass in the playoffs and he's been in the leaks since 2008. So I think that might be one that he would want to hold on to. Obviously wasn't thinking that when I scored, just got excited and said, "Woohoo!" Oh my god. Yeah. So we asked the Kansas City fan if you could please return that ball. So I can gift it to my guy. That's a retirement gift and I'll tell you what, they are here today. Come on. Get out of here. The 92 setters got it done. Let's go. Well, yeah. I know we're here. Who's got the ball? Where are you? Show yourself. Oh yeah, baby. You got a tad Hennie and you got to Travis Kelsey back onto the stage. In a true quarterback fashion, we need you to throw this ball and you already know we'll come and say you. I can't see anything. Let's see this form of Travis. All right. He's going right handed. Right handed. Chuck it. Oh. Oh. Oh. He's always got her back. He's always got her back, man. Thank you, man. Appreciate it. Ladies and gentlemen. Chad Hennie and Pat Mahome. Love y'all. I'm out. Don't forget this one. This is our first ever live show, which was insane. Doing it in Kansas City around the draft after the Chiefs of One the Super Bowl just could not have been more perfectly timed thing. But the reason this moment in particular. I think makes the list for me because I think I think we have another moment from this live show Later on on the list spoilers, but the reason that this one for me is because you know, I I interact with a lot of our fans on social media and being able to Come full circle from talking on the show about how Travis Shucked Chad Hennie's only ever playoff touchdown throw into the stands to four months later Having those fans show up to our live show Get him the ball back get them a sign ball like You know, that's just like building community is like a really cool thing and that like that is the quintessential example of why you want to do it It's because you get to unite fans with players like this and do not only a cool thing for the fan Where they get to be a part of the show, but like I know for a fact Chad Hennie appreciated the shit out of that And so that was a really really cool moment for for all of us Number 56 from everyone's favorite episode You just doing all the no, no, no, no, you you're you are you putting that in there. No, fuck you. Yeah. I Jake Jake you're setting up all your clips until it was interesting just it was just something I'm noticing noticing You did two clips in a row earlier which threw off her order, so you were technically supposed to be doing this one But that's fine. I will I'll do it with that short temper. I don't know. I mean fatherhood I don't know. It's gonna be tough on you buddy. I gotta go to OBGYN soon. Well, keep moving number 56 From everyone's favorite episode. This is Taylor Swift dropping some ball knowledge Jason on our first date. I literally I legitimately asked him What it was like when the chiefs played the Eagles and the Super Bowl and he looked across the field across the line of Scrimmage and saw his brother standing on the other like five feet in front of him on the field. Yeah, and he was like Did he was and he didn't even he didn't even look at me But I now know what an insane question that was he was like actually I'm on the offense And my brothers on the offense and I'm only on the field at the same time as defense I thought everyone was on the same I thought I thought that the quarterbacks. I mean that's how you played it on the on the playground growing up So I understand if you had in like no, you don't understand I thought it was like Jared golf is here and Josh Allen's here And they're gonna be like they blow a whistle and then they cook they go at each other and they're like Who's gonna win that's actually I would love to see Jared go play some defense I've got some thoughts. Yeah, I didn't know what a first down was. I didn't know what the chains were I didn't know what a tight end was I am forever thankful for you diving into the football world whole hearted. Oh my god I fell in love with it. I became obsessed with it. I became like a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming We drafted Xavier worthy What is who body snatched you this is this is that what do you mean? We drafted your worthy I forget where I was but you were the first person to tell me that I was No, I was screeching. I couldn't believe it. I was freaking out. We're talking about like I'm like wait She she right I got to look this up. I'm like she she get the wrong information here. Yeah, we trade it up Yeah, we're talking about cover two cover four covers zero man cover. We're talking we're we're learning I can't we I continue to learn maybe somebody else that even knows what those coverages are yeah I'm not ready to be an analyst right now, but yeah, give me 16 months Pick up on it. I'm telling I you would ask some of the best questions when we were up in the booth and there's like your Desired to learn more, but your genuine excitement around it as well as like your competitiveness. She's just not fucking around To be honest, I had the same reaction to the chief's driving Xavier worthy. I said it's my guy. It's my guy said hook him I said hook him that became like a whole thing. They showed that clip to Xavier like they made it. They did they did Now we should I mean listen if she's got time official draft correspondent is a cool title to have we'll happily, you know, anytime Number 55 Charles Barclay eating his way out of Philly Charles one of the best guests By all means Chuck take it away. I was about three hundred pounds in college. I Take most people know that Yeah, between two round two ninety five basically This has had bought me in for a visit and The owner says hey, everybody's concerned about your weight. Once you stop back here the day before the draft For what we want to New York, but we want you to wait 285 and I said okay, so I get down about 285 83 somewhere in there and then my agent says to me they have a hard cap in the NBA So if you get drafted by the six is you're gonna have to play your first ship or send it five thousand Dollars. Oh my gosh. Shit. I don't know. I'm sending five thousand dollars. I could have got that much in college I said why don't you send us a draft me. We went on a eating binge. No way Like it is in the morning, you know to get to Grand Slam breakfast and everything All three days, all three days. I was 283. I got like 299 right in there and The owner called me every name in the book blah blah blah blah blah. I can't believe your fat ass blah blah blah I leave and I'm thinking like who we dodge the bullet and If you go back and look at that tape. Let's just look on my face when they said with the fifth overall picking the draft the fill of Defense 36 select Charles Barkley out of Aubrey like what How did this happen? So my first contract end up being four years two million dollars, but I tried to eat my way out of Philadelphia True story fun behind the scenes moment of this one very surreal moment for me personally was trying to Help Charles Barkley fix the camera orientation on his iPhone and we never fixed it It stayed vertical the entire time and we said fuck it. We'll figure it out Chuck go ahead and I believe this is one of our long grapsits too because we watched this episode It's incredible season one fucking blast season one fucking blast have Chuck on one of the best to ever do it full circle from We started season one telling stories about how Travis used to call himself Charles after Charles Barkley a few months later Charles is a guest on the pod, which is incredible. He was the best. All right number 54 We're going to overseas for this episode in season two And it's the guys talking about meeting future new heights guest Prince William We met royalty there was royalty at the show got to meet Prince William how about that your royal highness last episode I think I was quoted as saying Royalty. He was so cool. He's good. Obviously. We're backstage medium He was there with a little George and Charlotte. They were an absolute delight to meet wasn't sure if I was supposed to like bow to them curtsy just be an American idiot and shake their hand. They specified because we weren't at like an official royal event We didn't need to bow or curtsy, but I did still address him as your royal highness. Yeah, no 100 and I've never I've never felt Amasculated and I did that was it closest I've ever I've never seen you give that someone that much respect you put your beer like 10 feet away from you. Yeah, I didn't have it in my teeth when I met him I got to say Prince William was fantastic meeting him, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. She was so f***ing adorable I don't know. Maybe because I have three girls now. She had fire tours. She was asking questions. Thank you Your highness. He was awesome meeting you and Charlotte and George fun fact about this episode it was recorded at 3 o'clock in the morning Pacific time yep, I remember I went to bed at Fuck, I think I went to bed at like 10 and set an alarm for like one to wake up to record this because both guys were in London We were in LA great episode one of the dumbest things we've ever done Which was do you mind being on London time for for an evening and I said sure that's fine Oh, also we need a full tea set. I said that's fine sure of course you do Why wouldn't you why wouldn't you need a full tea set? You know, it's not on this list that came out of this episode Alice in Wonderland Alice in Wonderland. All right. Well, well, maybe we maybe we can delete something else up top ahead 53 Jake a segment. We haven't done it a little while, but was a classic in the early seasons of the show In part because of this version of it and it's players as Harry Potter Jason Can you please sort NFL players into Hogwarts houses? You want to go down to list the players start throwing names at me Let's see how it happens. Where's Jason Kelsey? I mean, I'm gonna put myself in Gryffindor. Come on, baby Do I get in Gryffindor? I'd put you in Gryffindor. You're in Gryffindor for sure. Jalen hurts Gryffindor. We can't put everyone in Gryffindor Jason You're asking me all my friends. Who doesn't Jason know? All right. What about Russell Wilson? I think he's a slither in slither in I was thinking he was like a helpful puff. You know what? I'll do that. I'll go help a puff. Ask me a coach Bill Balecheck. Oh slither in all day. What about a guy like Tony Romo slither in? I mean anybody on the Cowboys are slither in so as Jerry Jones like is he like the head of slither in he's Lord Voldemort He's probably got horror cruxes scattered all through the United States Jason Garrett being one of them. What's a horror crux? Well a horror crux is when somebody separates their soul and they put their soul into another object or person You see what I'm saying you see where we're going in this it makes
it's not right? Yeah, it started out as more of like just doing the sorting hat for players. Like players that kind of like came out of this eventually, but yeah, sorting players in what house is Harry in Harry's house. As a Harry Potter nerd who like absolutely grew up loving the books and movies and a diehard football fan, like that was just such an intersection of my interests that I I will forever love this clip. Keeping it moving, number 52, the Jason Helmet toss story from the first beer bowl. All right, let's just let's go to the clip and we'll do some backstory on there. What do you have a welcome to the NFL moment as a coach? Who is your welcome to the NFL moment? You really want to go here? Yeah. Do I? Now that you just replied with that, yes. Well, the way they know of the car is set off. There's two fields and we rotate them after they we wear it wear them out a little bit. Yeah, they kind of cross me. You remember so we were the fields were perpendicular to the broad street and something happened crazy. I don't even remember what happened, but Jason got very upset and ripped his helmet off. Noticing a trend and let it go. Just sitting on the field. It through his helmet. I've got one of these stories too. Which instance of this? There's I feel like I've had ten since I've been here. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, you've never seen the last one. This is wow. This is young. The interesting makes you think like he could be in the Olympics for shot put or something like this. There we go. There was a spin on it too. I mean, I've learned that helmet fly 50 yards onto the sideline. You almost hit Ferrari that one day down Ferrari. That was that was an impressive one on it. I was it just had no one to go. I haven't actually seen that something something. I don't know my throat. It's just electric. Kids of people going. Was it warranted or was he being a big baby? I don't even remember what was working. I don't remember. There's been too many instances. They're all just running together. It's a great story and the first beer bowl is kind of like a defying moment for the show because it's genuinely, and I mean this respectfully, our Thomas idea. This first one was incredibly stupid and I'll give you the quick play by play the night before for Real New Heights head. The night before Jake and I and our boy Greg, our boy Greg, were in Philadelphia recording the. We're telling this story finally. Thank God. We recorded the Alhondro villain away of episode and I'm not pointing fingers. Somebody was hours late to that recording. I'm not saying who I'll let you guys guess in the comments. I say somebody was hours late to where we did not leave Philadelphia for C Isle until midnight. So we were driving through the night to C Isle. I think we got to the hotel at 113 in the morning, hit the bed. We're back up at the OD by 6 a.m. to start setting up drinking games. Yes. Can I back up really quickly to include the best part of this story. Go ahead. We are driving to C Isle. It's me Brandon and Greg. Greg is driving. I am working on some social stuff in the back seat. Brandon is working on the episode in the front seat. We are in a one way highway with two lanes. I look up. We're on the left side. Cool. Go back down. Doing my notes. Look up again. We're still on the left side. The road has changed to a two way road. And at 12, 13 in the morning, I say, "Hey Greg, are you on the wrong side of the road?" He goes, "Oh my bad." And I guess into the right way. We were driving, we were driving Europe style for about 12, 20 miles there. It's not great. Everybody's fine. It's fine. It's one of those fun stories that you get to tell people of, "Hey, we live through it. It's fine." Great episode though. Go watch it. First experience of "Statlin" on the show. Number 51. Maybe one of the most tweeted at phrases I get tossed our way is the "Squirt Squad." I mean, just a great example of why note-of-questions is already the best segment. And how, yeah, we do kind of always evolve into a dick joke, don't we? At Joe DeFran on Twitter, at New Heights, why don't players squirt their own water? No, don't go. That's just that question. That is such a good question. I mean, honestly, somebody comes up to me with it already, like right here, and all they got to do is just, they just go around from person to person and just like, do you want one? I can shoot you real quick. And it's like, it's way easier than handing the bottle and handing it. I don't know. It's maybe not that much easier, but it is convenient. I will say that. Yeah, I think this typically happens in like a TV timeout or something like that, where you're trying to be efficient and get water to as many guys as possible before the timeouts up. So you kind of just know when somebody reaches up the squirt yet, open up your mouth, and then you just get squirt. Yeah. Yeah. But you don't always, like, they don't have to do the squirting. You can do the squirting sometimes. But, you know, when you develop a relationship, you just know when you're about to get squirted on and you'll have to make sure that you get. Yeah. You got to have a good relationship with this person squirting. Yeah. You don't want to just be letting Rando squirt on you. Yeah. You got to make sure you know who you're dealing with. And it doesn't feel as trusted. It's like trainer coach, individual teammate. I'll let a teammate squirt me sometimes, but that's just a good teammate. I'm trainer track man. I'll squirt. I'll squirt you guys if you need me to. I'm trainer track. I train to try to have that in my fucking train truck and I got that thing right on the hip. Just need one. Yeah. I got you. There's something that feels good about giving somebody a squirt. Like you'd say, it feels like you're, you're doing the masala and like, I got you a squirt. You want something to be squirt? Dude, have you ever, have you ever trusted someone to squirt you and they just fucking miss your mouth? Yeah. It's the worst. My pitpeave. So these graderade water bottles are fantastic, but sometimes they don't screw the lids on all the way. It pisses me off when it just right down. I come on guys. We embarked on this avenue of trust. I've opened my mouth to accept your squirt. You dumped it all down my chest. Oh man. Squirt me where I wanted to be squirted. Yeah. Have you seen an honorary now new squirt squad member, Luke Keekley, who drinks like he has a football helmet on? I did see Luke Keekley drink. I was going to go on and just not have a one. Yeah. Incredible. Congrats on the hall, Luke. I had the show on the LA live show. People are demanding that shirt. I will talk to somebody about maybe limited run of squirt squad t-shirts. No fucking stupid question. Even better answer. Moving number 50. Oh man. Season one, episode two, maybe, maybe, honestly, one of my personal favorite moments was talking about the wedge unit. Really early moment where not only were the guys like everyone on the recording was dying laughing in part because of how much these guys were laughing, just I think just a perfect example of what the heart of the show is. It's like football talk that'll make you die laughing. That was back when there was still a wedge unit on kickoff return. Can you believe that that used to be a thing? I was a part of it. I wish it would never happen. Yeah. The wedge unit, this is what your job on the wedge unit was back before the NFL decided to outlaw this barbaric behavior. Oh my gosh. You would run back to you were 10 yards from the returner. Link arms, boys. Interlock arms like a human wall and there'd be one guy's job to look back and you say, go and then you would and you would proceed and your one job. Who came up with this shit, man? It worked like a charm. That's why they did it. I like when we get to delve into the absurdities that is football. Yes. Lock arms, boys. Like that is just what it's the dumbest, smartest sport ever invented. That's why it's the best. Number 49, maybe and I think we're doing, I think we're doing her version of this because Jason told the story without her first. No, maybe Kylie's both iconic story on the show and that's the shark story. How did it feel that Jason left you out of the infested waters and on the mountain? Yeah. In defense, she was nowhere near the shark. So I didn't really leave her in a compromise. What is nowhere near the shark mean? She was in the same water he was. Yeah, but you were significantly more inland. You could see Kylie and you could see the shark. It was hard to see Kylie. That's how far away she was. This man was in and out of the water because he couldn't stay up on his board. If the shark would have been anywhere near you, I would have jumped in and attacked. It is the fastest I've ever seen the big man move when he would fall in the water and then have to get back up on his board. Quick fee. Gotta get out. Your boy, he was not staying in that water. Slava. Every time he fell in full panic to get his ass back up on that board going around paddling and I turned around and this man is scurrying the fastest I've ever seen this man move. All I said to him was, are you John? And he was like, mm-hmm. That's what you gave her. It was hard to fear what she said because she was so far away from the shark ridiculous. Travis, he had to paddle past me to get into the short and he didn't say anything. But I was I was out there. I was with the shark. Have you ever heard how you get away from a bear? You just have to be faster than the slowest person. I was his slowest What was person? - No.
He was like every man for himself you are so far away from the shark. You haven't so much fun I didn't want to ruin the entire experience for you You just got to be faster than the slowest person Kylie. That's what he said Kylie slower than me I'm gonna just scoot on past her and then I'm safe. I love that we have Jason tell his version and then we get Kylie's version later Typically Kylie's feels a little more close to the truth But that's maybe a biased on my end. Um keeping moving to number 48 Man a lot of you're gonna want this month to be a lot A lot higher in this list, but it is number 48. This is Taylor on Travis's love for otters All I really use the internet for his sourdough and when Travis shows me videos of otters on his Instagram outfit I want it's an additional animal. I want a wild otter so bad. I just want to like find these Little creatures. Yeah, he doesn't he but he wants one wild one. Why wouldn't you He wants one specifically whose life he saved Who knows that he's very noble feels. Yeah, yeah, it's a really specific type of otter he's looking for the videos that I watch or Somebody just in a canoe. Yeah, he doesn't gonna like go up to an otter and take it from its mother He wants to see an otter and the otter's like my paws caught on the shell and he's like I got you And then the otters like thank you forever with its little paws and then and then it swims up and then it's and you're kayaking And it's like doing this to you like that's what he wants and I want it to honestly. Yeah, I mean who doesn't yeah, right? Yeah So do otters eat bread? Can we get us sourdough eating otter? That might be perfect. We're gonna figure that I don't know I don't know if they do They're probably but yeah, we had discussed maybe like carrying around cans of sardines just in case we run into one Nice. It's it's it's better in principle than it is in practice easier to easier to conceptualize You've got to go canoeing Which is also easier in principle than it is in practice. Yep for us in terms of just the weight balance I'm on the hunt for a friend Yeah Stuff you didn't know you needed to know right Jason. I mean, I love otters There is tour is though. Yes, and you got to it's so much I'm retired. I am all in on this I mean, we had so many zoos reach out to us after this clip My DMs are mostly zoos at this point and I will get to all of you and I will see your otters I promise you I'll be on an otter tour at some point um Yeah, I also you know people made a lot of fan art of this. I believe we've been mailed plushy otters So we're ottered up, but it's it's generally one of the best stories and Did not see that comment in the record the official Animal mascot of new heights in honor probably number 47 an episode You know that one of the episode that we were dying to make yeah, and we I mean we need to have this guy back on the show again at this point It's been too long anytime, but anytime open invite Andy Reed talking about drafting both Kelsey brothers edition of 12-Bode topics with my head coach Jason Won't you lead us off? Yeah, the biggest important question of them all so we got the draft coming up So we think we'd start with the draft you obviously drafted both of us and I don't know I've ever told you the story, but I was in The proble one year and John Groot was sitting there I think you guys had done a production meeting and he said you know, I saw Andy before one of the games And I said so you drafted Jason and you drafted Travis and he said your response was a jet I drafted Jason I drafted Travis, and if there's any other Kelsey's out there I'll draft them too So I'm asking you right now on the spot. Why my daughter is three years old If you're still coaching in 18 years, can we get another Kelsey draft thing? Oh, yeah Absolutely I've got a wife you've got a baby girl. Do you remember what led to me getting drafted here's was really easy So you're a great player. Okay a little bit undersized. Yeah, but Had tremendous toughness speed Your smart and dirty tough and so I you know, it was that was an easy decision. Yeah, and we needed a center Yeah, and so you fit in we just got rid of all that linebacker stuff and you Give you a hard mud and cut your loose. Yeah, this guy I saw a play against temple And my son kept selling me this tight in as unbelievable Kelsey's brother is like incredible You know, he's 265 pounds. He's a beast and that I've been and I'm scouting. I know that I get him. He's like 240, but that's a I remember that so I'm gonna bring back a memory for you games over the just destroyed temple And I come over the locker room. You're there. Yeah, I'm awesome. Yeah and He comes walk be popping out and just giving me the business. Yeah, like we're long-lost friends I'm going. I'm deep down. I'm going if I get my hands on that son of a buck. I'm gonna rip his heart But I play along with it. Yeah, I played a lot of cocky cocky Jamie is cocky. Yeah, just but but listen I I knew the roots. I knew the roots. Yeah, so for the first five years It's been it was a war the last five years been unbelievable You know, yeah, he traveled the country to 50 states 50 cars. I knew this show. I knew this show would be easy. This show would be easy. Yeah, this is nothing We named plays after we've had our fun and that play has been a hell of a play for a coach. No, it has it has Constant stuff, not that show though, not that show We won't rerun that show We did report this in the chief's facility and You just aren't expecting the aura of Andy Reed and then Andy Reed shows up and you go Oh, yes, I will do whatever it's got asked me to do. I yes coach like I Immediately was saying yes coach. I think this is the most nervous. I've ever seen Jason B for an episode We were all nervous That's that's coach gave us way more time that he should have Right around the draft and can't think him enough, but yeah, Andy Reed one of the best Number 46 again a number like this is this is another moment that Came out of nowhere that has now become a defining question. We get all the time that I'm glad we've ruined Jason's life with This is Jason Kelsey hot spots guy a dermatologist has officially weighed in Jason Kelsey statements true or false should we only be washing hot spots or are our feet part of a routine as I was Showering this morning. I looked down and I thought am I going to wash my feet this morning and yes I absolutely did wash my feet cut dammit doctor Kelsey, you are actually correct You don't always have to wash every part of your body Focusing on hot spots is actually a thing and no, I'm not actually supported or funded by big soap Jason as well I'm with you first of all, I don't believe the doctor forber watch his feet I don't believe him. I think he just said that because he was on national television and he's afraid of being shame I do believe that he admitted that I'm correct. I want to say verbatim at one point he said Jason Kelsey is correct He did. I think that happened in the video. I didn't hear anything other than that. That's what I heard Doctors were weighing it out where you should and shouldn't wash your body And I love that you guys you can change the man's mind. It's not happening this spawned Jason's tweet about Dermatologist being in bed with big soap big soap big soap big soap got called out Just an all-time debate and an all-time clip. I've done a few hot spots showers recently. He's not wrong You want to go number 45 number 45 from season one one of my favorite football plays in the last five years since we've been doing this show It is Mac Jones versus the Raiders the the lateral fumble tackle. I don't even know how we want to phrase it The guys reacting in this clip. It's just so good. Give it a listen You guys tried a lateral play to end the game going into overtime and Jacobi Myers throwing it backwards I mean how far about he threw like 20 yards backwards to the slowest guy in the field. That's behind everyone Who's the worst person that can have the ball right now? Mac Jones. Okay, where's he at? He's 30 yards behind everybody. I could only imagine the situation Mac is him He looked like he had no idea what was going on. What do you think Chandler Jones is thinking? He's like Could you imagine me a Chandler Jones? Is that the ball? Why? And then he catches it at Mac Jones is just one-on-one with Kevin Garnast and he stuck under the rim This absolutely stiffied Mac. I know I know we're not a defensive player. We got to put up a better Of the worst tackler ever, man. It looked like you tried to take a charge If you thought he was playing basketball, he's trying to get over it. I get a rupee the buzzer When football goes wrong, I feel like everybody can enjoy it and Mac Jones having met him recently one of the best guys so Mac, I'm sorry. We laughed at this so hard. I think even he would laugh at it knowing him It is genuinely one of the funnier football follies of the last like five years Moving it on to number 44 Man, this was a guess that we were all pumped about George Clooney just Like you know, he's on the list of people that I cannot imagine that I'm speaking to because that is he comes on camera And you go holy shit, that's a movie star and one of the nicest guys. This is George Clooney on his favorite prank Jimmy Kimmel gave me a stack of stationery with a presidential seal and Bill Clinton's name on it And I would send notes to all these actors
actors from Bill Clinton, I'd sign it, like, and I'd find a movie that wasn't a great film. There's my job. I love you in this film. And I write these notes, and I send them, I send them to like 30 different actors. I guarantee you some of them are framed and some of their own. Oh my God. They don't even know. They still don't know. That is amazing. Now they know. Now they know. Oh my God. Holy crap. So much fun. Oh wait, I did that. I do that a lot. Like, I have, I had Brad Pitt stationary. Somebody sent me this book of dialects, like CDs where you could do an Irish accent or you could do a French accent. There's a guy who teaches, and I had this big book. I don't know why I had somebody send it to me. And so I take a note with Brad Pitt, and I send it to Meryl Streep, and I go to your male, Brad, yeah, I go, this guy helped me in my accent in the movie Troy, and I thought maybe you could use it or I send it to the book of accents and Brad Pitt. That's so awful. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Like four years later, I see her, and I tell the story, yeah, he knows it now. Four years later, I see, see Meryl, and I tell her the story, and she's like, oh my God, I was wondering why the fuck he saved me. So that is epic. That is epic. I mean, talk about a guy coming on and just commanding the interview. Yeah. Oh yeah. Instant charisma. Just you get it. You get it. Yeah. I get why people want to film you. I understand now. It makes total sense. All right. Coming in at number 43. We got the goat, Tom Brady. I hate it. From a Jets fan. Yeah. So Jets Jakes says Tom Brady is the goat officially. She's fans. You can reach him at AJ chat. Forgot. This is being recorded. Go ahead. Number 43. Number 43. We have a quarterback who played in the NFL for a decent period of time. Tom Brady talking about his buddy, Ronk. Ronk didn't ever work. You know, like a lot of receivers, Titans work on catching drills. So afterwards hit the jugs machine, you know, a hundred catches and all the receivers did it. Julian would come at like six in the morning and throw tennis balls off the wall and do one hand drills. I never saw Ronk ever do any catching drill ever. And I would throw them out. And everybody like throw to Ronk, like he'd have these big white gloves, right? And when he put his hands up like this, it looked like the top of a trash can. That's right. Yeah. And he would move towards the field and he would go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, like, so it's like a smile on his face. And I throw it and the ball would just, the ball would just stick to his hands, right? So it was like unbelievable. So one day it's like his, it's like third year in a week, all right? And we're at practice and I throw him a ball and it like hits like the palm of his hands and like falls on the ground. And Ronk looks at me and is like, what, what was that? Like what just happened? So he goes, Tommy, throw me the ball again. And I cooked the ball and I fired at him and he fought it and he, it was like, he gained his confidence. And by the way, the rest of the career, I never saw him do a catching drill. I was like, there was, there was a five second loss of confidence in a receiver's career. And it was like, I'll never forget it. He was just like so lovable and you're like, come here, man, you're fucking unbelievable. The laughing while he's running full speed is the most grunk thing I've ever felt like absolutely. He's just having fun going fast. Like, you know what I mean? It's like, woo, I know. I know. What a dude, man. I mean, the grunk noises make, grunk noises, grunk noises, I need to, I need to have that as like a, I need to have that on my phone. When our wonderful editing team was editing that clip, the editor who was cutting it reached out to me, it was like, hey, like, what do I put for the captions? And I wrote just right, grunk noises and everyone I'll get it. We've been trying to get Tom on for a while and I'm glad we finally got him, did not disappoint. That episode could have been five hours long. So keeping it moving to number 42, season three, Jason Kelsey out in the wild. One of his earlier spots on Monday Night Countdown, this is Jason Kelsey's Dance Moves. We also got to look at some new moves, Jason showing off some moves. One move is actually new to me. I've only seen you hit one of these two moves before. I told this to Kylie. I said, that's a new move. That is 100% a new move. I haven't seen that one yet. Kylie said it's the same as the style. She said it's just a different variation of your style. Yeah, which means it's a new move this time, though. The running man. It wasn't my best running man. I've been better at running. Oh, knees are getting up. What happened is it was supposed to be on that stage to start countdown and I walked over there way too early. I had to kill 30 minutes before the show started and I'm just up there with these DJs just standing there. I'm like, I gotta do something. You have the greatest running man of all time, dude. I was so proud. Everyone thinks I'm the dancer, dude. You are the most electric dancer I've ever met in my life. We didn't know how to transcend your TV and I don't know why we had any doubt. Just let the man dance in a track suit and let Travis watch it. Just incredible. And this, I mean, spoiler for more moments later, but there have been a lot of discussion on the show about how Jason only has three dance moves. This was a brand new dance. Brand new one. Broke out a new one. No, he had a minute. I'm just gonna tee up the next clip. We'll let it play and then I'll give some backstory. This is Apollo Ono The Beetle. Travis, what the hell is your life doing right now? Dude, I have no idea. Yeah. A lot of false media being tossed out there, but it is what wasn't false and it was when I landed in Australia and seeing all the cameras and you're like the beetles. Yeah. I went into the, to the. He'll go. No. I'm like the beat. You're okay. Let me go. Was that speed skater? He's thinking of Apollo and like Ants, I don't know. Oh my God, that's fucking hilarious. Oh God, that's good. Yo, go on, Oh God, no. I don't even know the full story of Yo, go on, I know that she was with John Lennon and that's about the extent that I know, but yeah, she might have been a figure skater, actually, I mean, who knows? Speed skater. Speed skater, sorry. Okay, go ahead. Back story time. Well, so the thing that made this clip so great too was this was such an emotional episode, like Jason had just retired. We were out in Philly. The guys were together. We had recorded like 20 minutes already of like tears and emotional. And then. Heavy episode and then when with Jesus goes, you're like Yoko Ono Travis goes the speed skater. Everyone in the room was like, the recording, we're trying, we're trying to not make noise, but holy shit. Everybody looked, if you've ever seen a dog's head when you like crinkle a bag in their head kind of tilts, that was everybody in the room kind of going, wait, wait, wait. It was legitimately like the perfect way to transition it from like heavy emotional episode to, oh, we're back to funny new heights, I can't like, I know they've asked Apollo Ono about this, but it's still if I see Apollo Ono, I start giggling. I will giggle seeing Apollo Ono because I'm just, yeah, the speed skater. Last clip of this episode, number 40, Shannon Sharp on the show at season one. This is Shannon Sharp answering the question, could skip get a yard in the NFL. Previously on this show, we asked, could an average person rush for one yard in the NFL. So we're asking you right here right now, could skip Bayless get a single yard in the National Football League? No. I'm not saying because of these average, hey, no way, they're going to let him go to y'all. They're going to go out of their way, and I'm not so sure the offensive line is going to hit the ball block, y'all, that's what's going to happen with that one. Brandon, I were coming up with questions for Shannon and I was like, we should ask him about skip and I'm so glad we did. I'm very glad we did. I knew he knew the answer we were looking for and he gave it to us. Sometimes, great producing is just putting the ball on the tee. It's not don't overthink it. Just don't overthink it. Let the club do the work. Wow. So you think you're a great producer. And that wraps up the second episode. Cut. Tune in. Tune in next time. Would Jake puts four more of his own moments on this list? Oh, fuck you. Go ahead. Wrap us up. That wraps up the second installment of our top 92 moments. We will be back with another episode counting down moments from 39 to 14 to another 25 moments coming off the list. Thank you guys so much for listening.
